Jonnekia Ellison: I am blown away at just HOW OUTSTANDING the services were that I received from Michael and Mikey. I am from Florida and were visiting for the New Year. I was able to easily book an appointment for tattoos and a nostril piercing (my first) and chat with them on the customer portal beforehand. The pricing was very fair but honestly for the quality, I feel like they aren’t charging enough. Michael is hands down the BEST piercer. He was very knowledgeable, gave me supplies to clean my piercing until I made it home, and made the whole process quick and easy. I am scared of needles, funny to say, but I could barely tell he had started. He made me feel at ease and gave every customer (I watched at least 5 come in while I was being tattooed) that walked in after me the same level of stellar customer service. He listened to everyone’s wishes, gave his expert opinion on what the safest options were and pierced them at the perfect angle. Quick, easy and almost painless. Their implant grade jewelry is the best for piercings and I liked that it wasn’t about selling you some flashy expensive jewelry piece, but more of what is better for the healing process with their stock. Mikey did my tattoos and he is truly an incredible artist. My first tattoo was done carelessly and he was able to redo it while making it look fantastic. He did other cutesy tattoos for me (heart, flower, script rib tattoo, crescent moon) and he did them with such ease and precision and with the right tools to get the job done as painless as possible. He mentioned that he has been doing tattoos for 22 years and you can REALLY tell. My favorite part was how down to earth he is. If you want input on a tattoo design or what will work best, he’s there for it. He won’t shoo you out the door like most artists who just want to give you a quick tattoo. He made me feel calm and comfortable, like I could really be myself, and as a person who struggles with anxiety, I really appreciated that. It is now day 3 and I have no pain from my nostril piercing or four tattoos. I am also the biggest baby when it comes to pain lol. I HIGHLY recommend visiting their shop and are certainly considering driving 13 hours back there for any other piercings or tattoos that I want in the future. Service: Nose piercing

Miranda Cross: Nate and the entire staff at Tattoo Paradise are amazing— I have gotten 2 tattoos done here and both have been phenomenal experiences. The shop is clean and reasonably priced for DC. My first tattoo was of a handwriting sample and Nate was able to do it within a week after I emailed the contact form on the website to set a date. The second piece was an addition to an existing tattoo (picture) and Nate did an absolutely stunning job matching the new art to old with a combo of pre-done design and freehand drawn leaves and stems to integrate the two tattoos. I was able to work the design out with him in advance via email. The staff is entirely professional and kind— their piercer even took the time to explain what had gone wrong with a previous cartilage piercing I had done (not at tattoo parlor) and give me some suggestions for fixing it. If you are local or visiting I would highly highly recommend this shop, especially if you email them with availability in advance.

David Harris: I can’t recommend Globe Electric highly enough. I just got my 3rd tattoo from Eric, my 10th tattoo overall. In terms of professionalism and overall quality Eric is easily the best artist I’ve worked with. It requires some patience to get on their schedule - but worth it, in my opinion, for something that’ll be on your body forever. I don’t know what tattoo will be next, or when, but I’m sure I’ll get it from Globe Electric. Thanks Eric!

I went to Laughing Hyena because it had excellent reviews online and happened to be close to my apartment, and it did not disappoint. I worked with Isaac, who was friendly, down-to-earth, and knew exactly what he was doing. He drew up my design in two minutes and my tattoo was done in another two minutes. Since he knew this was my first tattoo, he gave me very clear instructions and advice for caring for it. He also guided me along in the tattoo process, emphasizing the sanitary measures Laughing Hyena always takes, and giving me tips for what to look for in a high quality tattoo shops for future reference. I was a bit nervous about getting my first tattoo and wanted to make sure I was going to an establishment that took their work and their customers seriously. I found both of those qualities in Laughing Hyena and would definitely go there again/recommend it to others.

Charlotte Somol: Super easy setting up an appointment, quick response time, and giving me an estimated price range based on the photos I sent. The people at the shop were very friendly and welcoming. Nico did my tattoo which was a relatively simple piece on my neck. He was very helpful as it was my first time getting a tattoo done and the process was very quick and easy. Very clean and sanitized area and barely hurt at all. Gave me lots of aftercare advice and the whole process was done in about 30-40 minutes. Highly recommend!

Meron Campbell: Great experience here! My naval piercing was a little pricey, but the jewelry I got is super cute which makes up for it! The piercer was well informed and very clean, and there was hardly a wait despite me being a walk-in. The piercing was over with quickly, and there was literally no pain at all; it didn’t even pinch! He gave me information for aftercare, and even though I’ve heard horror stories about how bad the healing process can be for a naval piercing, mine has gone super smoothly! I was only in the DC area for a limited amount of time on leave, but I had a consultation with Brian on a Thursday and he was able to fit me in his schedule before I left a few days later(on New Year’s Day). I really appreciated his flexibility. He was so dedicated we ended up staying pretty late to finish, and I am very happy with the beautiful tattoo he gave me. I have been complimented countless times on it and I feel great every time I look in the mirror. It was as painless as I could have hoped for, and it still looks amazing now that it’s healed. I look forward to working with him again in the future!

The tattoos we got were really tiny and I’d recommend making an appointment if you want anything bigger or more complicated but I had a great experience. I’d definitely go back!

Plus, it’s a cool looking shop with expertly placed safety measures. My first two tattoos were done in NYC and I wanted to find a place just as top notch as the shop up there. I scheduled a consultation and was surprisingly able to get my tattoo done that same day! So happy with how it turned out. Ray was consistently nice and helpful, and the shop is clean, easy to get to, and parking is easy. Prices are also very reasonable. She’s a little out of the way for me, but worth the drive. She worked with me patiently and attentively to ensure the placement of my piercings would be exactly what I wanted and would fit with future plans for my ears. I love how thoughtful she is! Steven Davis: What an amazing shop! Extremely friendly staff and great location. My wife and I both got tattoos from the same amazing artist, Karis. She was such a professional, taking time to ensure we both were completely satisfied with our work. She even stayed well into the early morning hours to get the job done. I cannot rate this shop high enough and will DEFINITELY be getting more work done there. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

She worked with me to get the designs just right, she explained each step of the process both before the appointment, during the appointment and the aftercare for my tattoos.
