Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Beza Mitiku: Don’t ever come here we waited outside more than 3 hours to get in inside I have no reason to lie , I have no idea how this happened in government office what do they even get paid if they don’t get their job done it’s waisting time I mean we have so many people jobless in this country who can work better than this slow non experienced lazy workers . And I don’t think their is supervisor that at least control this , and they always wait their lunch time so that they will get more time to waist. so try to come taking day off from work cuz u will be here all day but might not get done on that day also.

Maya Stone: They never answer. Ask for a ton of documents to give me my child’s social security number. I called the other office in dc and they mailed it to me right away with no issues. The day I got the number from the other office this one was still demanding more documents from me and won’t mail the Ones I submitted back months later.

Juan Macias: This location was busy when we arrived but everyone that works here was friendly and helpful. I would like to give a special Shout out to Ms Ashley who was working at window number 9 today for her amazing customer service.

Iryna F: They didn’t even let you in. Now Covid restrictions are dropped by federal gov (I work there myself) and they didn’t allow me to change my name due to marriage, just gave me an envelope to send it without any words. People were standing outside. So rude and unprofessional.

Michelle Steele: This review is intended for the 2041 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE #130, Washington, DC 20020 SSA location. Not sure why Google transferred it to this location. On January 14, 2021, I mailed in my personal documents to the Social Security office at this location in order to process a name change on my card. On January 30, 2021, I received my new social security card in the mail. I received the documents I had mailed in a few days before this. I was amazed at the speed that the office processed this during COVID, since I was also worried that my documents would be delayed due to weather as well. I made a total of 3 calls to the local office during this time; and did not wait longer than 10 minutes for any of the calls. All of my calls were answered with courtesy, and they answered my questions with the correct guidance. Kudos to the employees at this location- I am puzzled by the negative reviews since the location has been virtual since March 2020. I experienced extremely efficient service with a less than 2-week turnaround.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Julia Walter: I had a great experience with this office. From scheduling the in person appointment to the actual business I had to take care off everything went very smooth. The officers were most helpful in explaining the documents needed and the service was super efficient. The officers were very friendly.

Karim Washington: Very poor service and helpless . Wasting my time to go this location.I go to twice to update my card . First time they do the mistake not taking my documents properly. Second time they do the same thing. We need work 5 days aweek to support family. This location like to waste our time..

francina h: Very rude no one want to help I sent over my information no email no call back nothing since covid started about my ssdi now they stop my payments I reported them and received letters saying my payments will continue after my documentation I sent in. Need help worst

Rian Hayes: I got married in June of 2021, because of covid all documents are to be sent through the mail. It is December and I have not received my marriage license nor my birth certificate that was sent in the mail to this office. I have called several times and all of the managers continue to redirect me but never help. This location is absolutely unprofessional and I would not advice anyone to send documents through the mail to this location. You may not get them back.

Krisley Rojas: I’ve been calling for at least 3 times RIGHT NOW, every time the phone is ringing they just pick up the phone and hang it up on me without saying a word.Rude, unprofessional.

Muvah Blessed: Why appt dates giving for weeks later some of us do have emergency situations and priories where we need SSC ASAP

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Aiden McDaniel: Really great and so easy experience. I had to do a name and gender change on my social security card. I had the application and all necessary paperwork in hand and prepared before I came. I showed up at 10:12, and had this all done by 10:45. Was even able to park out front. Everyone was kind and really, a super easy experience. I recommend coming to this office. There were only about 4 people in the waiting area and I was called quickly.

David Yip: Mask is needed to enter the office. Short queue both days I was there, just stand on the blue dots and move forward. Fast and efficient service as I submitted my application online so it was just waiting to speak to an agent. Total time < 60 mins.

Giulia Azzolini Saugo: I showed up without an appointment to request a Social Security Number. A very kind employee helped me out. I filled a request and he registered me on the system. He gave me a receipt and after 5 days I received my SSN in my mailbox. Living in Virginia I should have gone to Social Security Administration in Arlington but they nicely helped me regardless. I spent 45 minutes at the office.

Jacob K: Horrible, Have been calling the number over 2 weeks never connects, then went to the office the security door person is RUDE, really rude. I explained the phone system doesn’t work, but they constantly repeats same word “ call the number to make appointments, no walk-ins”. BUT THE NUMBER DOES NOT WORK. They don’t want to understand nor listen. If you insist your work they threatens you.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: This social security office is hard to find, It is very small office next to the building parking entrance.

William: Currently impossible to get service due to a textbook catch-22: No walk-ins, you must have an appointment. How do you make an appointment? By calling the number. But the phones no longer works so no one answers and you cant make an appointment. And if you ask to be seen because you are already at the office and the phones are down? “Not without an appointment sir”

Vrronique Jones: This starts out with an offer for a Walmart card that you might have won. How is that appropriate or even allowed for a government agency?! This is crazy.

Andrea Herrera Palma: THIS IS NOT THE SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE NUMBER, PLEASE DONT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION.

Alexander Donaldson: Even though you have an appointment. You still have to wait to be seen.

U.S. Social Security Administration - Office of Disability Adjudication & Review: what do users think?

Daj Monroe: Its only one male worker who is helpful and not rude that works here ! Its one lady who is very rude for no reason and gets loud for no reason. People need to remember tables can turn and should watch how they treat people.

Elizabeth Cotton: I will be dead before I hear back about my appeal. I worked for 30 years. I lived with manic depression for most of my life. 4 of my siblings all received Disability because of the same affliction. I also have been diagnosed with colon cancer and have been through chemotherapy. Hospitalized many times throughout. I tried working again but failed miserable. In the last month I have been diagnosed with RA. I have lost hope.

Khay Williams: Why is there no zero star option here? The ambivalence of the people who work for this place reflects the amount of concern and help that is provided upon calling. Shame on the government for not providing US citizens with quality answers to queries concerning life decisions for the applicant. The employees are robotic and trained to provide general employee manual answers. Not helpful or informative to be a government establishment funded by taxpayers. I will leave it at that and not expect any change. Zero Star.

S Ragan: Did not visit office but I did call. This Social Security Office is not a general type SS office where you talk with counselor about your benefits or get a SS Card replaced. This office is for Social Security Appeals only. A person would only come to this office after Social Security has been denied, the person files an appeal, and is directed to come to this office in the Appeals process. For general SS Office Services, visit the office at 6295 Edsall Rd # 190, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the Fairfax location at 11212 Waples Mill Rd #105, Fairfax, VA 22030. posted 2/14/2019

Mike Greeno: ***IMPORTANT*** This is SSA Headquarters, THERE IS NO Social Security FIELD OFFICE here....SAVE yourself the trouble and the PARKING FEE for coming here...The Nearest office from this location is ((( 6295 Edsall Rd #190, Alexandria, VA 2231))) Which is open on Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM) [[ Wed 9 AM - 12 PM]]

G O: Please take notice, this is not a SSA file place. You can only go to the Lobby floor, and armed guards with give you a paper with SSA file offices address around this area.

Denise Kuhn: This office is very pleasant, but when it comes to judges signing off on your case it is very slow and you have to wait longer because they are so backed up. But that is more money coming to us for back pay.

Social Security Administration- Call for Appointment: what do users think?

mf zxen: Excellent Service! Quick and easy i was able to receive a help for a replacement card of my social security. I got a receipt stating that my card would be coming in the mail in approximately 2 weeks. I received help from the Asian man at office number 3.

Jessy: I’ve had the best experience ever at this office . I was so scared to drop my passport off at this location because of all the negative reviews . I updated my citizenship and my name . I dropped my documents off on a Friday afternoon and my new social security card was in my mail box the following Friday . After 3 weeks my passport didn’t come back so I called and the representative on the phone told me I would get a call back . 7:30 am the next day a I got a call from Kimberly with information about my passport . She gave me the tracking number and told me when it was sent back to me , she even told me to call back if I didn’t get it . Happy to say I got all my documents back and I want to commend this office on a job well done .

Fasika Ejigu: I don’t usually write reviews. Also, I never have a good experience with Social Security Offices however I had the best phone call appointment today. Ms. Rodriguez was very patient and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions without any hesitation. I am very satisfied by the service I got today!

Rediet hagos: This ssa office is the worst government office I have ever experienced. I was calling for months and when I finally got a hang of someone they pretended like the line was cut off and they hang up on me. It’s not only it’s unprofessional but I don’t think government office should work against the residents. People with disabilities and other serious issue have to deal with this none sense. They have to come up with a better plan.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Dyana Smith: Everyone I encountered was polite and professional. If you come prepared with what to expect then you will have no problems. Due to federal government protocols you may have to wait outside for a while as they clear out. The security guard politely explained this to us and when it was time to enter he came out let us know. Check the website ahead of time and make sure that you bring all forms and documents.

LaTanya Hill: My husband and I just left here for a name correction . The service was absolutely superb. I read the reviews and they were horrifying 😳. We experienced the opposite of the bad reviews. We give them 10 stars from security to employees. Keep up your great work guys!

NIcoll Garcia: HORRIBLE SERVICES! Not once answered the phone. I wen to the office, they said I needed a preview appointment and that they couldn’t answer any questions I had.until I made the appointment. HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT IF THEY DONT ANSWER THEIR PHONE. This is TERRIBLE!

C Roberts: The staff here are rude and unprofessional here. I have been trying to get a copy of my sons social security card since December. I mailed in an application AND placed another one in their drop box and it STILL hasn’t been processed. I just called to check on the status of my application and the staff member hung up the phone. Please avoid this place at all cost

Phill Tiddle: horrible got hung up on this is supposed to come out of my tax dollars horrible clowns👎🏻 I don’t even feel safe that I give out my Social Security number almost wanna say that’s a fraud number If how the representative talk to me and hung up…..is this Number even legit or real.?????😳😳😳😳😳😨 didn’t even mean to put a star it should be a negative star

Tiffany Rucker: This is the worst office ever to deal with. I have been going back and forth with this SSA office since September 2020 and I still do not have my new SS card! I have sent in all documentation required and its still not enough! They asked me for my original marriage certificate and then sent it back to me folded up with red writing on it!! How disrespectful! I am contacting every agency above them to complain on this incompetent office! I understand that we are in a pandemic, but they are working from home and it shows!!!!! Governor Hogan need to know about how terrible this so called government office is being run and trust me I will make sure he knows! Stay away from this location if you want professionalism and Service .

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Lee W.: This is the absolute worst! I feel like I’m in a uncivilized country! After standing in the hot sun for two hours now I’m waiting for at least 2 more hours! Even worst they have empty row of seats where someone can come in out of the heat! They are ridiculously slow and no consideration for those outside and Security won’t call the next person in after someone leaves! Why don’t they just go to all appointments or close until they have enough Staff!!! Everyone should write their Congressman about this office and the treatment to Taxpayers especially Seniors!

Mama Jai Love: Have elders and disabled standing out in heat with no care or consideration. No seating providing in or out. Safety measures non existent if most customers outside. No tickets or line order to be found. Do better. How is this safe for anyone? Been outside for an hour in sun.

Rammy Akins: This branch office does not earn a star but I had to click on it for me to be able to post this review. I have been calling this location for the longest to make an appointment because when I went there physically, I was told that the branch does not accept walk-ins nor make appointment on site that I will have to call to make an appointment. Every time I called no one answers until yesterday at about 3pm after waiting on the phone for an hour plus, some guy came on the phone and he asked me what my status was and I told him that I am a permanent resident and that I will like to apply for an updated social security card, then he hang up on me. For the benefit of doubt whether the phone was disconnected somehow, but to my greatest surprise the automated service relayed that the office was closed for the day. I WAS VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS! Why should it take so much to do very little things in a civilized nation? I do not get it at all.

ALW: Giving 3 stars because of the 2 and a half month wait time for me to receive my card and documents back. If you are planning to get married and are updating your name, know that it may take a lot longer than 2 weeks for them to update your information. I didn’t need to mail in my documents or make an appointment to submit my application, they have a Dropbox at the front of their office that allowed me to drop off my documents right there at the office so that made it kind of convenient.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Thelovelyone 82: Horrible. The experience I had with this location was the worst. Bad customer service, the phone lines are always busy and when they do ring they randomly disconnect. I called for weeks trying to reach someone, and when they do answer they are rude and hang up on you. I trusted the system and mailed sensitive documents via certified mail to this office per the application instructions. They lost my sensitive documents! Even with my proof of delivery they still claimed to not have them. Tax payer beware!

Jeffrey B: You have to call early in the morning to try to reach someone. I had to call 3-4 times before reaching anyone. The first 3 calls were dropped with no warning. I was helping a lady setup an appointment. The REP did her best to help however what frustrates me is that they were not able to give us an appointment. Instead they would mail out a letter with a date/time and if WE dont get anything after two weeks we should call back. A Crime. My friend had a language barrier but did the best she could. Before REP wanted to leave I wanted to confirm the address. Turns out it was not correct because we could not understand my friend. All you had to do was confirm the address before getting off the line, especially if you are mailing something out to them. Rockville SS has been a joke. Using Covid to do less. They cut calls, schedule appointments in advance up to 3-6 weeks later, and who ever is the manager of this location should have to answer to all these bad reviews or fired. Bring someone else who has vision and leadership. This is not an isolated issue. Look at all the reviews in the last couple of months/years. Lord help those who urgently need assistance.

S N: My appointment was quick and fast. Staffs are friendly and responsive. I recommend to book an appointment before visit. I arrived 30 mins before my appointment. I had to wait for only 5 mins outside and staffs let me in. All my work done in 15 mins.

Roxana Landaverde: Horrible customer service the people behind the window make it experience almost to impossible to write a good review they are so rude. And already ready make a judgment about your situation. I was there to get a replacement card for my son and the guy was so rude he had a awful attitude. Unfortunately that’s the o my location near me so I have to come back.

Sviatoslav Dutka: I’ve been trying to call this place and other places around for 5 business days and the only thing i can hear is that they are enable to accept my call. When call main phone for SSA the line just drop every time. I’ve came to the office to schedule that f… appointment for the name change and the security didn’t let me in lol. This is a joke. Those … enjoying covid, so they barely do anything.

Donnell Finnaman: I called social security office to find out my SSDI situation, FYI I’m deaf so this guy just got on phone saying reason why I’m not getting money because I’m still working, I asked him to see if he can look my information in their system, he snapped at me saying I need to fax the form to that place from work, I was like I wasn’t working ever since June then I explained my situation, he just cut me off transfer me to someone else but he knew this person wasn’t there! Customer service sucks and surprised it still there

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Debbie Morgans: I was there early on a Monday morning at 8:00 am to get in line. Doors opened at 9:00 and I was out of there by 9:45! Great new building with appropriate Covid precautions. Staff I dealt with were friendly and answered all my questions. Very fast and efficient experience.

زكي الحمصي: The security treats people with contempt under the pretext of covid 19 and says an appointment and people are not allowed to ask employees

darwish sahil: The state reps and senators seriously need to take an action and observe the social security office responsibilities in person. Off course they’re federal funded, but they are truly wasting Virginia residents time. The personnel are super rude and unprofessional. Their working policy and website just sucks!! One will follow the website direction and wait in brutal hot and humid day for hours and hours to get his work done. But, when you get in, a very cheap and rude worker will claim that you are wrong and I don’t know about website I can’t help, you better leave don’t waste my time. But he has no clue that a family with three young kids waited outside for hours to get in and has all documents in hand for name change purpose, but get reject in one minute and he won’t listen to you and won’t accept your documents such as passport, court order or at least look at it. The Worst part is there is no supervisor, everyone is a boss. It’s time to bring a change and assign some responsible people in the office and take care of all Virginians with respect, care and satisfaction.

Don Juan: Get there 20 minutes early. I waited more than an hour in line just to sit some more inside. They need to just close the building if they’re this heavily understaffed. Even the DMV was a more pleasant experience during COVID.

shante dundee: One of the WORST places to try and get help. If I could have put 0 stars I would have. The phone lines open at 9am, I called about 905am and was able to speak to a live agent. Of course, not only was the agent rude and seemed irritated with my call, soon after asking to speak to a supervisor, I was told that there isn’t one and she hung up the phone. I then call back, now this time waiting on the phone for about 25 minutes or so. Finally someone answers the phone but all I can hear on the other line is the sound of people talking in the background. When I say hello, the phone disconnects again. The sad part is, there is no one to check and make sure that the social security employees are being respectful and trying to help the person in need to the best of their ability. It’s frustrating that for months now I’ve been trying to get help and still have yet to get it. I’ve tried going up to the office, making an appointment but was told that what I need help with, they currently are not assisting people in person, only particular cases. Not only is it unhelpful but it’s a burden to continue to call, just to get incomplete answers, hang up calls and disrespect. If you have to contact this office in anyway, good luck getting a clear, concrete answer. Every time I do speak to someone, the result and answer is always different, even though the problem is still the same. In need of help and they do not care.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Marc Carns: Wow!! Great service! Amazingly fast. Extremely nice people. I sent my paperwork in to get a replacement document. I made an error and it needed to be fixed in person. I showed up, signed in, waited no more that three minutes, and they resolved my issue in less than 5 minutes. Thanks so much!!!

Thang Piang: I loved the location, but one thing when you call them by phone, you have to wait about 15 minutes to get answer. When they answer the phone, and I responce them back and say "Hello", but the phone hang up very often. Also, wish to have more polite in communication!

Jeremy Ark: This place is a Bernie Sanders utopia. If your wondering what nationalized healthcare would look like, take a visit to this place. Long wait times, bad attitudes, and terrible service. But it’s free! I needed a replacement SS card for one of my kids. I did some research on the SS website before I went to make sure I brought the required documents. The SS website says “In general, you must provide your birth certificate...” and provides several alternatives including a religious document so I brought a birth certificate and a baptismal certificate. After waiting 40 mins with only 2 people in the entire waiting room my number was called and I went to the counter. A young woman with a bad attitude says “do you have certified medical records?” I said no I brought the BC and Baptismal document. She said “we don’t accept those”. I showed her the list of approved documents from the SS website and she said that wasn’t correct and pulled out an old photocopy that said it wasn’t. I left and drove to the doctors office who printed out a statement on their letterhead and signed the document. I went back and they accepted the most easily forgeable document I had.

Rohan Salvi: Only 1 person goes per appointment … Very bad at talking over telephone.. You will see a security guard lady that opens the door once every hour …

Gabrielle Keener: I hate dealing with anyone here they never do anything to help you there always snobby and I’ve been doing this for over a year trying to get a social security card

Andrea Murphy: Terrible experience, manager of office and workers are nasty, workers does not seem to care about people who need to come to them for help. I was accused by several of having fraudulent paperwork after purchasing it from vital statistics and showing receipt, I was still accused. After getting help from a worker at the vital statistics office verifying that i could not have done what i was accused of , they finally gave me what I came for. At the end of there day. I would suggest you not go there and travel to another facility. They are not helpful. They will turn you away and create more problems for you., They need more training on acceptable paperwork.

JANA SMITH: Customer service is horrible....if you talk to 5 different people they will give you 5 different instructions. We have been waiting 7 months for a new borns social security card/number.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Alicia Robison: I don’t usually write bad reviews, but my experience with this office could not go unmentioned. It is extremely difficult to get through to the office. I would be fine with a wait time…that is completely understandable especially while their offices are closed. However, I waited for about 30 min to then just have the line disconnect after what sounded like someone picking up. The next time I tried to call, the line was busy for about an hour. Then it disconnected again after saying the call could not be completed at this time. When I finally did get someone on the phone after multiple attempts and several hours total of wait time, the lady cut me off mid question saying what she thought was the answer to my question (it wasn’t) and hung up on me. During the brief conversation I had with her, she raised her voice, interrupted me, and sighed several times. It would be understandable if I had been unreasonable or aggressive but I was trying to ask a simple question about the name change process that I still, after all of that, did not get an answer to. I will be talking to the regional commissioner today. If I am having this kind of trouble navigating this process as a younger, intelligent person then I cannot imagine how some of our elderly are coping with this lack of direction, unprofessionalism, and outright rudeness.

Lou Canonico: I had to visit Reston SSN office today. Like others I had been trying to reach someone on the phone for months with no success at all. I didn’t have an appointment. I dreaded going but was very pleasantly surprised. I showed up at around 10 on Thursday. There was no line. Security guard showed where to check in. Got my number and before I could even sit down was called to a window. The lady who helped me was pleasant and professional. Got what I needed and was done in 10 minutes. I guess I got lucky and hit it right.

JB: They failed to process my social security card name change for two months. They NEVER answer the phone (also no voicemail option). During COVID restrictions, there was no way to get an appointment with the office to get an update. After months of waiting, including calling over and over during business hours and emailing the SSA national office, I thought to call the Baltimore SSA office. Right away someone answered and informed me that my application was logged soon after I sent it in but nothing happened with it. There was no issue with my application and they even had “too much documentation” from me. It was just sitting there. He said my best bet was to take a day off work and wait in line. On the second day they were open for walk-ins, I got in and an SSA rep confirmed that the application was never processed. I explained that this had negatively affected me (think of all the things you can’t do or have without a valid SSN card…like file your taxes or get a new drivers license). He offered nothing but a letter confirming my name change (which I can’t do anything with) that I had to come back to pick up the next week. I asked the manager if she could help somehow but instead she was rude and condescending; I was wasting her time with the problems her office had caused in my life. The best part? I’m still waiting for my card….

Sophia Saib: Very helpful thus far. It’s our first time here and the gentleman in the uniform at the door was so kind, helpful and willing to help. As I sit here waiting for the appointment time, I’m watching him speak to other people at the waiting room and he speaks so politely. Back home, (I love my country) but I have never seen such respect displayed in a public department.

Kris Savi: I applied for my baby’s social security card over a month ago and I sent my ID card, certified birth certificate and hospital records of the baby to establish identity but I didn’t get my ID card, nor any other documents back! How I can call you or email you. When I want to call you, I always wait 45-50 minutes. None of the representatives know anything. Very disappointed!

Eileen Milligan: If there was minus 5 stars that would be right. How can a service be helpful if they NEVER answer the phone. How can you book an appointment to fix what is wrong when no one answers to make an appointment. What is so sad is I am trying to help someone that is disabled survive and this process is just so unbelievably difficult. I feel sad for those without family support and for those that are disabled trying to survive on no funds because NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Jessica Wendt: I had a great experience with this office. Yes, you have to wait until someone answers the phone, it took about 20 minutes. Person on the other end was very pleasant to speak with. I had to wait about one and a half weeks for someone else to call me back to schedule, but the appointment was right the next day after the phone call. Also a very nice lady on the phone. The experience at the office was quick and the employee was very helpful. My husband and I came in for updates on citizenship and name change. So overall the experience was great.

pankaj sharma: My experience at this place was flawless right from making a call for appointment to service at appointment itself. When I called for appointment I was told that someone will call me for it. It took some time but I did got a call and appointment was next day. When I reached, the person serving me at the counter made it happen quickly. I think a lot of the complaints I see here is because of Covid. We all are trying our best to survive it.

Sanjay Patel: Terrible. I have been trying to call them for over a week, multiple times a day. Always put on hold and usually no one picks up. If someone does pick up, they hang up before I can respond. Update 2022/03/22 -- I raised the rating to two because once you actually get a hold of someone, the process became a lot better. The lady that finally answered my call was very polite and knowledgeable. I had to go in to finalize the process. They called me back a couple of weeks later to schedule a meeting to submit my documentation that also went very smoothly.

Leonard Pumphrey: I dreaded going to the S.S Office as I had only heard terrible things about the Manassas Office. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and was relieved when there was no line outside as I have often seen. I was greeted and directed to a registration machine upon entering the building. My wait time was about a half an hour and the staff member helping me with my concern worked quickly and professionally. It was a very good experience, and my concern was handed promptly. I was in and out in less than an hour.

Em H: If I can put 0 with this office I will, I call to make appointment and after 15 minutes someone pick up the phone, but very unprofessional and very rude doesn’t allowed me to talk. After getting my info and putting me on hold for another 10 minutes and getting my info again and make me wait for another 10 minutes to just say to me that the manager will call me back to give me appointment. I’m so flabbergasted that they couldn’t even make appointment for you and that need the manager do it, it’s beyond ridiculous that as simple as making appointment they can’t do it. Very rude they shush you couldn’t even talk and ask questions. Our government employs the laziest and rudest people to deal with the citizens who pays taxes.

Michell Paredes: If I could go ahead and give 0 stars I would, I called for a WHOLE WEEK and NEVER got a hold of anyone, I understand lines are busy etc, but every time I was put in hold they would hung up on me or the call would get disconnected. When someone finally pick up one of the numerous calls I made, first of all very rude, treating me like I was dumb, being very impatient, when all I just need it was to make an appointment to go into the office, THAT WAS ALL instead of him explaining the situation to me just told me I needed to wait 10 days for someone to contact me to schedule a simple appointment. It was the worst experience of all.

Taylor Roberison: Needed my name change after marriage. No other SSA office answered but them. The sweet lady on phone let me know I only needed to mail my passport, application plus copy of my marriage certificate in for a name change. Mailed it in on a Friday, and it arrived on a Monday. Got my name changed and original documents back on Thursday. Super fast and easy process. Deserves more than 5 stars!

dhanesh misir: Lazy, incompetent crooks. Spent months waiting with no progress, getting the runaround. Then suddenly they double charge me for processing, and when fraud protection stopped it, they cancelled the whole thing. It is a shame these people have jobs

Laasia Howard: Sooo unprofessional I been waiting for my paperwork since January I finally get my paperwork in March but the deadline to get it back to them ends tomorrow like how is that and then there’s no fax number also I can’t even contact them cause of the number they have on file doesn’t ring or anything

Camille Gustus: They agent was so nice and patient with me. She forwarded my call to my case workers private line for me to leave a detailed message. I very hopeful that they will assist me in having my payment expedited because of the uncertainty of how much longer I have. I’m very grateful for the assistance that I received.

Enoh Christine: The service here is very friendly and quick

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Matt G: My SS Card was mailed to the wrong address, and there is no way to update your address online. You have to mail in an application and a government ID (not a copy) and wait for them to get it and hope they send it back with the SS card. I opted to go in person and was told by the armed security guard that wearing a mask inside is the law which it is not. They made me leave the facility, would not speak to me, and said they could have the police come and arrest me for trespassing. The folks who walked in after me, a married couple, were made to sit six feet apart in their empty waiting room and two employees came out to the waiting room without masks on. This is a great way for govt employees to do even less work by putting in place these nonsense restrictions. Why do they even have armed security to begin with?

MM HVAC: So there is a maximum of 6 people allowed in the SSA. When it reaches compacity you must wait outside. This info is not posted for you to see until you are inside the lobby. Last week I witnessed a handicapped elderly man having difficulty walking with a walker and clearly having breathing issues ask the security officer if he could either sit inside the breezeway or could he get a chair so he could sit down. The officer stated they would check with Management and then came back after checking and told the man NO per management. When I got inside there were several chairs NOT in use. Its a disgrace that they would not offer him a seat. Shame on a Federal Agency treating Elderly and Handicapped people so poorly. DO BETTER SSA MANAGEMENT!

Nena Rivera: The worse experience ever over a phone. I am really patient and understandable with this kind of call I have been really nice explaining my situation and he hand out on my two time. I do not understand how he can answer the phone with that actitud

kristi anderson: How are COVID restrictions in any way relevant to which office I can visit? I was told that only people in Annapolis zip codes can visit the Annapolis SSA office. i would love to see the federal COVID guidelines that say I can only visit one specific federal office. Is there a special COVID-free bubble in Annapolis? One star because a gentleman did answer the phones, however, he hung up on me when I challenged the policy that discriminates by geography.

Lia Cortez: I am APPALLED at the level of poor, rude, unhelpful service being provided by most government offices now a days. SSA not being the exception. I called my local SSA office in Annapolis, MD for a question, and I literally get a “I’m not dealing with you” and an immediate hang up after asking a following up question to what I needed. I don’t think I was even 30 seconds into the conversation. Did I even get a name or any sort of identification to report this person? No. If you even try calling back, the call itself hangs up after a few minutes wait time. What if I ran my business the way these offices ran these offices now a days? These are taxpayer funded offices that are set to provide a SERVICE that we fund through our taxes, yet are treated as an inconvenience. Sickening!

Jesus Marroquin: I call to get some information and the lady who I speak to was so nice ,she was trying to help me with what I need…unfortunately they can’t help me this time ..but I will come back when I have all the papers I need ..

John Lynch: On the few occasions that I had to deal with the Annapolis Social Security office, I always a very good and professional response. You have to expect to wait so be prepared to do so. In the current COVID-19 environment all transactions are conducted verbally over the phone and/or fax. I recently had an issue with Medicare Part B IRMA payment and I was given expert advice by Mr. Hawkins in the Annapolis office. Mr Hawkins called me back personally and professionally addrssed my concerns. I followed the advice offered by Mr. Hawkins and within 3 weeks the Social Security Administration lowered my IRMA to the proper level. Had it not been for Mr. Hawkins counsel, I would be paying much more for Part B. It is nice to know we have professionals in our local Social Security office.

Social Security Administration: what do users think?

Jameelah T: Please go to another SSA to get your service, trust me it’s worth it. Took me days to get in touch with them to change my name, and now it’s taking over two months for me to get my information back. I should have known that it would’ve been better if I had gone somewhere else, especially since an office further from me answered the first time I called. Don’t waste your time here.

S. Hari: This is one of the garbage government office ever I have been. They said need to make appointment by phone to get the service and I continue dialed their phone after and after. After the long boring automated answer, when their phone rings they hung up the phone without answering. When no one answer the phone, how we can make appointments? Government should close this location and spend that budget for people in need. No any employees deserve government salaries from this office.

Barbara Groont: Reasonable waiting time. Very good COVID precautions. Very organized. Staff very professional, friendly, knowledgeable! Tiffany was my Tech & was great! Security officer at door very effective & pleasant. Ms Walton (? Sp) Mngr very nice . Thank you!!!

Asante Forde: If I could give ZERO stars I would!! This is the WORSE OFFICE EVER. My son was born 12/2021 & I have yet to receive his social security card. The phone lines DO NOT WORK SO DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TO EVEN CALL! This has been the worse experience and I can’t do nothing without my sons social security card. For something so important you would think that it would be easy to get in touch with somebody and it is not. Something needs to be done about this. This is stressful and ridiculous. As many bad reviews that are posted I don’t see how nothing has been changed, smh.

Steven N: I am guess it’s not just me with the problems. Going on almost A YEAR without having a SS and not being able to work. Everytime, IF we reach someone, IF they don’t hang up on us will give us a new or random excuse. No. No other SS office will work with you. They will all tell you to call whatever county you live in. The manager of the annapolis office felt bad for our situation and even emailed the Glen bernie office. About to file an official complaint to OIG. We have officially been to that office, had the interview and paid. I can confidently say this is theft.

Habib Keita: I wonder why this office is still open. The Pandemic changed everything we understand that but what has not changed is how we rely upon SSA service. I have been calling for the last 2 months every day 6 to 7 times, no one responds, each time I get hung up on. Does this office management even checks their reviews? Unbelievable for a government entity

Tracy Feggins: After several attempts on trying to contact the Seabrook office I gave up and called the Glen Burnie location and didn’t have to wait for a representative for more than 10 minutes. Scheduled an appointment, arrived the next day and the lady who helped me was very nice. I was out of the office within 15 minutes, very professional service. I enjoyed my experience

MrJfaucett: My wife and son are disabled and we were lucky enough to get the nicest worker I have ever met. She took the time to slowly explain Everything to my wife that is Mentally and physically disabled. This worker treated my wife with respect and was very patient with her. Very Thankful for her- all these years later I will never forget how much it meant to my me And especially to my wife.

Marlon Norman: Today we had to go to this office after my mother recently passed just to finalize and ensure no more payments arrived that were not designated. -While there, we experienced some of the worst customer service ever. The guy who waited on us gave no eye contact nor showed any remorse for our loss. I know he/she does not have to have any sympathy but dang. We are going through such an unfortunate event and hate to be around any additional negativity. Thanks US Social Security Office for adding to our sadness....

Tammy Kidd: My experience with a Ms Powell has been a great one , she is very helpful

Mark Respess: They NEVER answer the phone. Always at least a 45 minute wait and I simply cannot believe that they are that busy constantly.

William Howard: i am trying to call the washington nc 27889 office and the number has changed!!!!how can i find out my status of my disability if i can not reach them? sorry lazy people that work there!!

Ashley Brown: What kind of government business closes at 4? I mean seriously every other one closes at 5. I guess they just assume everyone will get off work in time to make it there, this is bs.

Kristina Mobley: Rude customer service!! Will not be going back

Timothy Burnette: This takes too long to talk to someone

Simple Photoshop Tutorials: Been calling this place for weeks and just get sent to voicemail every time. Not sure anyone is ever there…

GordonG: Be aware .... this place is not open to public Google map should have made it clear that this place is not for walk-in, but rather is a headquarter. The patrol guy is super nice and pointed us to a nearby office that helped us out. Hope Google Map can make it clear.
