Skate Park at RFK Campus: what do users think?

Ryan Gardenswartz: It is a great park the locals are very nice one thing that needs to be improved on is a little broken cement but easy to avoid

Wayne Cox / Actor: I like this spot very much! Its a perfect place to go to skate small or big ledges, its big and open, its painted so it slides and grinds really well, all the local skaters there are really laid back. Its got a little bit of everything, I suggest going if you get a chance. Its free and no helmets required.

phil3636: A fantastic skatepark with lots of space and well laid out obstacles. Something for all skill levels here. It sort of feels like a proper SLS competition style skatepark. For some reason though everything (including the floor) has been painted with bright contrasting geometric shapes and colours. It makes it very difficult to see the edge of ledges and drops and stairs. A bit far out but there's paid parking.

Tim G: Awesome skate Plaza! A bit outside the city but easy enough to drive to, not sure if public transport goes that way. The parking lot attendant let us in for free since I told him we just wanted to skate for 20-30 mins. It has a quarter pipe on one side and the rest is manual pads, grind ledges, and cement kickers. A massive stair set and handrail and then a little 3 set for fun. Right near the highway too so if your going past or leaving DC it's not really out if your way!

David Garcia: I plan to come here regularly.

Ms. SDS: There is no shade and it needs repairs on the skating part, I almost killed myself skating on the broken, missing pieces of the ground.

Jessy Westfall: Thought this park was pretty sweet, especially if you love ledges.

Rick Goebel: Not to bad, glad they made it!

Jason Murray: Skatepark is super sick if you love ledges!! Medium to high ledges mostly.

S_hift: I hate the painted surfaces. There is no contrast on obstacle edges

Shaw Skate Park: what do users think?

Don: One of the best parks in the DMV area. Can get super crowded a nice nights but early am is pretty empty. All new concrete and ramps, well designed. Only negative is the ground isn't completely level.

Sam0ny: It's a cool park. Pretty small, great for street skating. Has one small bowl that's great for beginners to learn how to pump and drop in. Good park for taking it easy and not doing to much extreme stuff. I went at 2:30pm for lunch and it wasn't too busy, maybe a dozen people. I was able to find a parking spot right next to it. My only critique is the floor around the bowl is very uneven. And I wish the hours were posted since it is a gated park with lights. Overall, great park. If you find yourself in DC, you should swing by.

Agustin Barg: Good design. Good materials. You can flow all over the park

phil3636: Edit: The park had been completely rebuilt in concrete now. Plenty of features at varying heights to suit both beginners/pros/old farts and a really fun bowl in the corner. There's pretty much everything you need here, from the fundamentals to some more quirky unique things (red slappy curb!) There is a bit of a crossroads in the middle of the park that can get quite hectic when it's busy. I wouldn't want to skate here when the kids have finished school. The level of skating by the locals here is ridiculous. Feels like a demo going down whenever I'm there. If you're in the area and need anything then Crushed Skateshop is the place, a 10 minute skate away 👍 #cementurians #1000skateparkchallenge Old review: A basic and limited park but plenty of space and flatground. Decent enough ledges and banks. Feels very 90's. It's the only park in central DC anyway! Nearby RFK park is a lot better and a little further out try Melrose and Powhatan Springs.

z06 mcnasty: Great park and good diverse people to all get along

Jonathan DeGange: Always good. I’m quite regular there.

NSTRIKER15: Enjoyed the new renovation. Could use a better parking lot but still pretty good

Jordan Anstatt: Fun, smooth park with decent flow. Two flatbar, lots of ledge options, and mellow transition. Good for learning tricks.

weston kinsey: Great hip rails and tranny. runup for the stairs is not amazing but other than that 5/5

Timothy Chen Allen: Nice place; not crowded. Skate structures are well-maintained. Basketball courts next door. Parking on street. No noticeable skate snobs; my 11 tear-old and his friends were comfortable here.

Bridgespot Skate Park: what do users think?

phil3636: As of August 2021 this spot is quite rough and crusty but you can still skate it. The quarter pipe, rail and flat block/Manny pad can all be skated and they're pretty fun. Judging from past photos of this place it used to be in much better condition. It could still be saved and made into a proper DIY if any locals fancied it. Quite a few tents underneath here but far enough away from the skating bit. The area seemed nice enough, although I wouldn't go here after dark or by yourself.

Ryan Gardenswartz: It is a great diy park under a bridge there is only minor problem is that there is dirt glass in some spots on the flat ground otherwise it is a great park

Brian: Skate park filled with graffiti. As of late homeless have taken over one side with tents and the other half is the park. They cleared the old VA ave so there is parking u Der the freeway. Close to a children's playground and tennis court. Whole foods is on the block.

Logan Isaac: Looks like it was a popular local spot, maybe even with municipal support. But maybe the rail construction nearby closed it down or put it on hiatus... bones are good but needs a lot of resurfacing.

Rich Knight: This is a forest of broken bottles and tetanus. It's really a shame there is so much potential.

Shawn James: Thanks for blowing the spot up it was chill before it got to google

Kevin Dollhopf: Great place to shred the concrete gnar.

Green Skate Lab: what do users think?

Anna V (Chapacatt): Skate park is likely great for advanced rider but not really great for anyone else. It’s very small and offer little other skating areas. It’s not easy to reach with public transportation, lacks real trash cans, I couldn’t find any restrooms nearby, no water fountains that I could find and seems to be overrun by teenagers who aren’t skating but blocking much of the skate area.

phil3636: A well built authentic good ol' fashioned concrete bowl complete with pool coping. Not your typical skate park- advanced users only. It's in a nice area with parking nearby.

Alex Erb: Super fun bowl

KimJong Un: Awesome place to skate super gnarly no scooter kids almost never full death box fun unforgiving and and the coping sticks out a ton but that's what makes it fun .

tommy martin: Went there and ripped it. Sweet spot nice people. Has a nice dog park too. Two thumbs up

Paul Meyers: Strongly recommend this bowl.

Robert McNeely: No good thanks to the mayor

Manuel Ortiz: Fun skatepark.

Shannon Vendemmia: Awesome

Powhatan Springs Skate Park: what do users think?

Patches Fucku google ohoolihan: It t-stormed 2blocks before I reached it.... No good riding.... Powatan please finish your awning or roof over the entire park.... We all know you have the tax money to doit... We need to ride rainorshine or we get in trouble.

Wayne Cox / Actor: It's a very fun park, I think it's more geared for pool skating and bowl skating but the street sections still really fun!

Mike Lumer: Fun! Plenty of shade. Wish there was a dedicated 6 and under section but the place is otherwise awesome.

Logan Isaac: The website says that Team Pain came through to resurface this park at some point in the last few years. But it's like fixing a pothole - it gets worse and worse until you totally repave it all. Surface suffers from shoddy cosmetic surgery with lumpiness and mismatched surfaces the rule rather than the exception. Only the hips and ground level Crete is intact, with every tranny looking like Frankenstein. It's better than some parks in the area so I didn't give it three, but there's no way this is a five. Great place to cut your teeth as a grom, but not on or with most public parks like it.

Francia Molina: Nice skate Park very popular with kids. 3 pools, rails, grind box, shade. Smooth cement park.

Kurt Rauscher: This skate park has quite a lot of varied terrain! There's plenty to ride for beginners through experts. And a decent amount of shade helps it stay cool.

erik miller: My daughter loves skating at the park, and sometimes the entire family will spend Saturday nights here. While indoor venues may not be suitable, it's great to safely connect with neighbors and maintain social distance. The park is a wonderful investment in the community

_Carzforlyfe _: It’s a well built park but there are so many things wrong with it. The flow of the park makes no sense. The coping on the ramps and rails is like riding on 3m duct tape, and the locals are rude and inconsiderate to younger children and anyone that doesn’t ride a skateboard
Response: If people are shredding, remove your children for a few.

Noel Campbell: Pros: - Overall the best skatepark in the DC/MD/NOVA area - Variety of plaza and transition elements - Beginner/family friendly - Good snake run with doorway cutout - Shade - Lights Cons: - Arbitrary aesthetic limitations the county imposed on the builders constrained the "doorway bowl" end of the snake run to just UNDER 8 feet. Really limiting; that thing could easily have been 10 which would open up the possibilities. - The planned spine was scrapped for a boring wedge-to-curb thing. Major disappointment. - The planned 11" bowl layout had to be changed because the footprint was a little too big.

phil3636: This is one of the best skateparks i've been to. It has 3 massive bowls and a snakerun type bowl and a street course too. Really smooth concrete and lots of space, something for everyone. The park is in a nice area too, can't fault it!

Rockville Skate Park: what do users think?

phil3636: A really fun, well laid out Skatepark. It has enough of the fundamentals but also a few quirky objects to make it stand out. A top of the range park. The downside is it's a proper supervised ultra strict park with rules. You have to sign a waiver to skate. You have to sign in and out. You have to wear a helmet. The park is closed on weekdays until 3pm and only opens at midday on weekends. It feels more like a daycare for parents to drop their kids off at knowing they're being supervised and wearing helmets. Which is great if your a kid or a parent. I prefer a more laid back, casual environment for skating personally. Afterall, isn't the appeal of skateboarding the fact it has no rules?

Dead Goon: Overall, it’s not a bad park. Decent layout. Times are odd but I only ride the weekend mornings, so it doesn’t affect me. Bmx only hours are nice but you can’t grind with pegs, even plastic pegs. Disappointing considering I sit there and watch kids on scooters and skateboarders grinding and most likely causing more damage than my plastic pegs, if that’s the reasoning. Worth checking out even if it’s just once.

Danny Schmitz: I used to skate the old skatepark for years until they closed it a few years ago. It was the spot we’re my buddies and I would get together every night after work and get a good skate session until the lights went out. I was really looking forward to having something like this again but the helmets rules and hours just make the park not worth skating. I understand if younger kids need to wear protective gear but making experienced adult skateboarders wear helmets is just ridiculous! It felt more like I was skating at a daycare than a skatepark! They’re skateparks in nearby cities like Olney, Silver Spring, etc. that you can just walk in whenever and skate helmet free! Even though the old Rockville park layout wasn’t as good, I’d take it over the new park any day!

Alex Topper: I don't know why people are so upset with wearing a helmet. I have always had a great time here. Normally going early on Sundays with my son and it seems to be a kid session which I think is great. Im an older bmxer getting back into it watching my son have a blast. Only thing I wish they would change is the hours on other day.

sol diaz: New park is FANTASTIC! Staff is wonderful, great ramps, basically anything a beginning or advanced skater could ask for in such a small space :)

Don: Great park and set-up. But, as others have noted the hours are not good. The helmet part is difficult bc it puts some minimum wage kid working at the park in charge of telling a bunch of 30+ yr olds to put on their helmet. Overall it feels like a early 90s park that is over administered. To the skaters; Be nice to the park employee, it's not their fault they have to make you wear a helmet.

dave garvey: The hours are so terrible. How can anyone ride if they’re practically never open. I’d like to see this place do a sunrise to sunset type of deal like all the other parks in Maryland.

Rob Scherer: The park is incredible. Don't pay attention to reviews where its obvious that person doesn't skate and is simply writing to complain. The park was completed by an incredible company, Spohn Ranch, who also did North Laurel, Leesburg, South Branch, Reston, etc. and this park is buttery smooth. It has tons of ledges, transitions, a bowl, rails, benches, etc. No stairs. It is free. You have to check in and give your info the first time you go. You then you get a little card to show them moving forward. Yes, you have to wear a helmet...don't let that keep you from skating one of the best parks in the DMV that is brand new. So yeah, check in, wear a helmet, and skate while you forget that its on your head, its that simple.

Ryan Reynolds: Terrible layout. Must wear a helmet, hours need to be addressed, must sign up for a membership providing private information unwarranted, can't skate without a shirt on regardless of temperature. No reason for there to be administrator watching over people, waste of taxpayers money. One and done will never be back

Frey Sure: Nice environment and serene atmosphere!

Anacostia Park Roller Skating Pavillion: what do users think?

Dawn Davis: Love skating here. My fiancé call play basketball, my son can play at the playground and I can skate. A perfect trifecta.

Nicole Sharee: An oasis in the heart of SE, DC! A peaceful place to watch the sunset too! The grounds are well-kept, and there's enough space for everyone to relax and play!

Kev- keepingitreal: Anacostia Park Amenities Include a Roller Skating Pavilion, Music, Restrooms, Playground, Outdoor Basketball Courts, Baseball Field, Tennis Courts, Open Green Space, Walking Trails, Picnic Tables, Boat ramps and Plenty of Parking Space.

Roslyn Rawles: This brought back so many memories as a kid skating here. The music and the people were great. We had so much fun young and old.

Kennika Jones: This is my favorite place I love to skate here its outdoors and it's always lit I always have lot of fun and I leave my heart on the floor it has many entrances and places to relax I even fly my kite here

LaNita Bundy: My 2 teen skaters had so much fun they didn't want to go. They really enjoyed their selves. Looks like the rink is holding water in its front right corner and needs a little repair or TLC. Hazard cones were in place and it didn't stop anyone from having a good time. The rink was also well lite and park police made rounds often so we also felt safe even as the last few persons to leave.

L. Anderson: I enjoyed this park very much. The kind people of DC and the surroundings

Jamil Carter: I love it here. Nice place to clear your mind The vibe is always right at the skating rink. Smooth music or "Hip" music. No judgement, fall all you want lol you won't fall NO more!!! 💁🏾‍♀️

A. Brad: It was similar OK There were some regular folks didn't know that there was an event and so they wanted to do what they wanted to do Like allow children to Roll around with scooters Inside the ring

Rachelle Mitchell: This pavilion is big and spacious! I love the community feeling from everyone in the surrounding area enjoying themselves at the park. It was a great outdoor experience.

Washington Park Skate Park: what do users think?

Ishaan Horwith: Overall, a pretty garbage skate spot with horribly maintained grounds, lack of equipment and just ugly in general. There's only a couple obstacles and the ones that are there are super basic and boring, the ground is also cracked and completely slanted down hill. The only reason I don't give it a one star is because it does have one good feature which is that it's rarely ever crowded and is a good spot if you're self conscious and want to learn without everyone seeing you

Jordan Anstatt: A chill park with smooth ground and a sparse layout. There’s a bit of a downhill and some of the ledges are rounded. The C-rail is a fun challenge and the planter is a blast, definitely my favorite feature. All in all, though, it’s one of NYC’s more forgettable skateparks.

Alex Wagner: Ledges and boxes and space. And a tight faux-brick(?) quarter-pipe, jersey-barrier type thing at the far end. I like this park bc there’s not much there and it forces you to be creative. Definitely not a destination per se, but more than adequate for a full sesh.

Jennifer Zivkovich: Fun park to perfect some basic tricks. Little kids in the morning most days.. Beautiful mural and garden 💜

Kevin Jones: Chill little skate spot. You could kill a day here easily. The flat ground is good, it's all down hill though. Gotta watch for people walking through as it's right next to an entrance/exit for the park.

J R: It is on a gradient so learning how to carve is nice. But it is harder to do flat tricks in the down hill if your not use to it.

Fuchsia: Nice skaters and minimalistic design. It has pretty much everything but a playground, which I like because no raving little kids.

Max O'Neill: This place is fun to use with nice ledges to grind, but I’m often scared to go here with all the gang activity

shaw3: Wile it only has a few obstacles, this park is best for boosting your creativity.

Kevin Elko: Pretty measly 'skatepark', but I guess it's okay if you're really bad at skating like I am.

Dustin Brace: Awesome skatepark for beginners and experienced skaters alike. Supportive, chill crowd.

Yell Yell T.: Loved, loved, loved this skatepark! My GPS took me the wrong way and I was a bit disappointed but we were determined and finally we looked up the Pine Park Place and boom! we found it! All concrete, smooth as butter. Decently spreaded out between ramps and such. Great place to get clips with an amazing background. Restrooms are right down the hill. Shame is gravel! Overall this skatepark was super nice. Picnic area and a playground were right on the sideso you can practice street skate skills.

TILT: I can’t go because I get out of school at 3:30 and takes me 30 min to get there so no Point of going and there not open on the weekends and that’s weird

Tyler Schultz: This is a very good skatepark it's small but you can come up with a lot of things that you can do my step-son rides his scooter there and you can look him up as well his name is Landon doll and like I said plenty of things to do good for kids wear your helmets in your pads..his instagram is landon_dahl

Jamie Metty: Skate park is awesome. Good, friendly environment with beautiful mountain views.

Bobby Hall: My kids love this place. Not many places like this around.

Tyler Marth: Loved it. The giant mountain that you can go up and down is the best definitely recommend by my standards

John Hills: Well done skatepark, beautiful view with nice stone walking trails through the woods.

Bryce Ferguson: Great little park with plenty of smaller ramps for beginners and rails for the more advanced riders.

Melisa Doherty: Great part for all abilities. Need to visit for the day, plan on spending the day as there is so much to do

FDR Skatepark: what do users think?

Jason Lane: An amazing skatepark perfect place to be creative I had so much fun this it is a perfect place for skaters to skate and have fun. Definitely for the more advanced skaters but beginner can skate the park to.

Matti Joseph: this is an amazing park and it is apart of skate history.

Josh Steimle: A piece of skateboard history, and absolutely one of the lumpiest, roughest skateparks in the world. Skate here and you'll appreciate how good the locals really are. If you're not sure where it is just drive the loop around the park and you'll get to it eventually.

Jalen Andrew: Was surprised at how big and beautiful this park was, pics don’t do it justice. Massive bowls, roll-ins, banks, decks, all connected by nice transitions and covered in some really sick street art. Went at dusk and since it doesn’t have lights, there weren’t many people there, but during the day, looks like a great place to hang out in that classic philly skater atmosphere. Unfortunately not many street skate features, but nevertheless, the architects and graffiti artists who built this place did a top tier job at it

Unlimited Exclusive: FDR is a staple in Philadelphia and our Photography the community is well shared around the park we've even had skateboarders participate in our candids. Love coming here!

Mat Stevenson: Amazing environment and such a cool skatepark. Feels like home

True Review: An urban skate park that will meet all your skateboarding needs. The environment is upbeat and positive. A great place for beginners, the more advanced or if you just want to observe. The graffiti is a site to see. Great art! What an experience. It could use a few more trash cans though.

jawn'e eyevolve: Used to be cool. Now all hipster posers on longboards vaping their avocado sticks

John Banfield: This place is gnarly. Various bowls, hips and other obstacles. A huge half pipe (at least 12 with about two feet of vert), and an over vert bowl.

Rebecca Tracey: Probably the COOLEST skatepark I've ever been to. There's three bowls, all of different sizes. Tons of graffiti, brooms (because, you know, rocks), a half pipe, a super small half pipe, and plenty of parking (if the skatepark gate is open, but still plenty of parking.) I would highly recommend this park to anyone on wheels. Definitely a dope tourist attraction

George Washington Park: what do users think?

Robert Smith: It's a bit small, but relaxing. Good for a small birthday party, or cook outs while letting the kids play on the swings and other fun things. And if not a cookout, maybe you could have lunch or dinner from a local restaurant, there's plenty to choose from locally.

The Jacksons: Great skate park and grassy area as well for spectators. Nice location.

nichole Childers: Overall it was an ok place to take your kids, however my children were very disappointed in the maintenance and variety of things to do. Great for a few minutes of free time, but my kids were bored within 10 minutes… the slides were freezing in the winter and the metal was scalding in the summer. It just left a lot to be desired for such a prime location! With no restrooms or fountain it would be hard to spend any significant amount of time there.

X Perk: Better than most skateparks with in 60 minutes (Newport news)

SPACEBOY 31208: Its a nice park but could use some work on the skate park side other than that there is a gas station next to it and a burger king so its a good park just work on the skate park side

Laura Hawkins: My kids love it here. It's less busy plus my 2 year old can play at the park while my older kids skate

Robert Young: Very Great Place I grew up here in this Area and we need more Skateparks and upgraded stuff for people and kids to do life's shirt okay hard keep in school and say no to drugs but yes this is a very desent park with a Skatepark

E Detomaso: Nice very small part house is all around park there was only two people in the skating section that was it, no water no restrooms.

donny donaven Murphy: Here is a wonderful place for children to spend safe time in a safe atmosphere I wish there were more parks like this. The children in this kind of community need this kind of activity to fill their time. Idle Hands is the Devil's Playground. I would really like to see the city of Portsmouth incorporate nicer more accommodating recreation centers, indoor outdoor pools and such as that like the other cities surrounding us. I believe this kind of community can create a positive character within our kids.

Punk Junky: Bring a fold up chair there are no seats available, when it's hot it's hot cold is colder too some riff raft but I seen no fights, thirsty go to BP across the street

Lanham Skate Center: what do users think?

md Jolie: Very nice place! The workers there are fantastic and care a lot about your safety. A heads up though, the music is LOUD so if you've got sensitive hearing, fair warning. Also if you're planning to visit the food court, know that they have tile floors over there so if you're not that great at skating you might drop your food or drink.

Millennial Max: Amazing Skate Center with good quality skating shoes for all sizes.Cool DJ Themes!

Myra Edwards: I'm giving a 2 star because the kids had fun. I'm also giving a 2 star because it was extremely HOT 🔥 no AC at all. My kids was so hot I'm just glad the kids didn't pass out from it being so hot. It was 70 dollars for 4 kids and me and I didn't skate. 5 dollars added on to rent something for the kids to hold on too. Roller skate are dirty.. Total 75 to $80

Cynthia Saunders: We had a Great day at the Skating party today. Woo-Hop YESS! Staff was friendly and helpful.

Jay Hugee: Took the family skating after the Juneteenth Celebration in Watkins Regional Park…GREAT TIME! Can’t wait to return. ❤️🖤💚

Dayan Escobar: I won't give the 5 starts only because they don't allow inline skates... Otherwise, great team, clean facilities, great vibes!I would recommend it for those who want to learn how to skate.

suave tech: Good size rink and the floor has been...let's just say...modified. It still has lots of gaps in the wood planks and even more planks that are not completely smooth if you roll across them instead of down them. The great atmosphere is still there and MOST of the skaters are pretty friendly, especially once you come often and get to know them. I also like most of the workers. They are cool but they don't play around if you don't follow the rules.

Doreen W: Kudos to the updated skating rink. Floor is beautiful, music is good and good atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of people skating. There was a birthday party after our session and it was a big crowd. Look forward to having fun here again.
Response: Hey, Dee! Thank you for the great review and rating! We appreciate the kudos on the new floor! We would love to see you on the rink again soon!

Safiya Parker: Went for adult night. $10 admission, $5 rental. It was a good experience and nice to watch the different skater skills

Tasha Vaughan: I’ve been going to this rink since a child an have seen many changes for the good this is home away from home the staff are friendly an always willing to give a helping hand or just great info for new skaters to make them feel comfortable The music is great an they cater to age so if u are older the they have the throwback jams on Thursdays except the 1st Thursday of the month But over all great staff an customers Keep doing what your doing!!!!
