He walked me through each step and made me feel at ease. Would definitely highly recommend anyone looking to purchase their first skateboard to come here.

Vivian Lu: Best skate shop in all of NOVA. I frequent here to buy wheels, bearings, and other skate gear. Today I finally bought one of the Aluminati boards (cruiser board made from recycled aircraft). Rode it for about an hour, and it packs a punch for a cruiser board! I recommend going here for reasonably priced skateboards or gear. The people there will always try to help you.

Our son wanted his first skateboard for his 15th birthday today. Initially looked online… so many options, but how to choose? So glad I read a “choosing your first skateboard” article that advised NOT buying online, but visiting your local shop. We are SO glad we did! Jackson explained all the options that bewilder a beginner - deck widths, concavity, wheel hardness, etc… He explained the pros/cons of the choices in our budget, and even gave a quick getting started lesson to our son. Instead of picking potential junk online, we walked away with a perfect board, and the skills and confidence to get started…. He’s practicing Jackson’s lessons right now, and it’s working. From day one!! If you’re a first timer, save yourself the frustration…definitely go to your local shop, not online!! And no matter your level of experience, if you want a great selection, a great shopping experience, and knowledgeable helpful staff… definitely go to Fairfax Surf Shop!!! Today was our first time, but we’re now lifetime loyal customers, thanks Jackson and FSS!!!

Skateboarding has DRASTICALLY changed since I was a kid so now I found that I know exactly zip about anything other than balancing. Teo fixed our old boards, changed over the trucks and wheels. Jack hooked us up with some new boards and gear. The Vibe was cool and my kids are VERY happy with the purchases. The inventory is super diverse and if I still had good knees I would have gotten a board for myself!!! They have a board for everyone and knowledge for all who want to learn. Also I would highly recommend the skate camp that Fairfax Surf Shop manages. My kids are loving that as well and now they can skateboard better than when I tried to teach them. 5 Stars well deserved. Shennequia Downey: First I want to say that this place is beautiful, me and my husband have spent two weekend in a row. The staff here are very pleasant, they have plenty of activities for the family and the environment of people on the campground are pleasure to be around. The bathroom are clean and private. The camp is kept clean. I will be returning.

Jason C: Spent the weekend camping and hiking at the campground. Decent place to camp surrounded by the city. The place was packed and for some reason, the park didn’t open the showers all weekend. Other than this, things were good for a quick getaway.

Muj Mas: A great place for family picnic with several grill and tables, shelter and toilets. The lake is beautiful and fishing is allowed.

Nick Lamb: 5 stars for the mountain bike trails. 4 stars is really only because the water park lines are always ridic. But overall a good place to skate too even though I don’t skate.

Damian: One of the best skate parks in the area,wear protection kids and be safe.

Lane Rolling: Another one of the best skateparks in Virginia. They have all different kinds of obstacles for your skate board needs. The park does have lights but they go off at 930. If your in fairfax Virginia I would definitely check out this park and have some fun. They have a bowl as well.

Jason Jenkins: Great atmosphere! Place is clean and folks were super friendly. I just picked up skateboarding and the guys here were quick to give me a few pointers to help me. My daughter had no issues riding her scooter around. Place is free, well kept and open from sun-up until sun-down. A park ranger will occasionally make the rounds to ensure everything is running well. Overall a great experience for me and my family.

buddy MASTIN: Great skateboard park, took my 9 year old grandson and he had a great time. Everyone was nice and very helpful. It gets pretty busy on Friday evening and Saturday so if you are bringing young skateboarders you might want to opt for a weekday. We will be back. 1 of the 2 best skate parks we have been to so far.

Kristin Gross: My kids love going to Bowie Ice Arena to skate. My son has taken several learn to skate lessons. The instructors make it fun for little ones who are just starting out. Lots of games mixed with skill. The facility is clean and staff are friendly. My daughter is looking forward to attending a week long summer camp this year as well. Open skate sessions are offered throughout the week. Rental skates are available! Check it out.

Moe Paul: I learned how to skate from not knowing how to skate from the lessons here. Everyone from the staff to the skaters taking lessons is very encouraging and willing to help you get better . Come on out from child to senior citizen and have some fun.

We got a Groupon for $15 for 4 people including hot cocoa and rentals. My kids loved it and begged to return soon.

Ari Orenstein: There is always plenty of space on the ice and it does not feel overcrowded, the skate guards are very nice too. I can skate fast to get a burn, practice my backwards crossovers, and most importantly have fun! This is my favorite ice rink, hands down.
