Tarik Smith: Went in and the clerk directed me to the aisle that I needed. While standing there another customer came up and saw what I was looking for but directed me to more modern parts. Gave me some tips and I was in business. I went to the counter and the clerk gave me the last parts I needed and verified with my old set that the new stuff would fit. I highly recommend them as they have helpful knowledgeable staff and the customers are friendly and helpful also.

Christopher B: One of the better Ferguson's in the area, in my experience. Staff are pretty helpful and they usually have what I'm looking for. The one thing they don't carry that is important is 20' lengths of pipe. So may not always be the best choice if you're on a big commercial job working with cast iron.

Harold Brenner: I was redoing my daughters vanity drain after she bought a new one. After extensive research and measuring, I thought I knew what I needed. I failed to find the required pieces at a generic hardware, so I went to Eastern Plumbing Supply. The person there looked at my pictures and suggested a much better alternative for much less money. Their prices were great. It worked out exactly as they suggested!!

He has the patience of a saint and works hard to get me the best item for my lifestyle. He also has never forgotten to take advantage of promotions that can save me money. If I could give him 10 stars I would.

Charrese Edwards: I took the time to go into the Fergusons over on Wisconsin where I met with one of the sales people named Tempe. I spent a couple of hours in there looking for several items and making selections, Tempe said she would get back to me by the next day at the latest with some quotes. I did not hear from her so I followed up a few days later with an email, she didn’t respond so I called and left a message, she didn’t respond so I called and spoke to somebody else and she said that she would get Tempe to respond and she still never did. Not exactly what I call good customer service. I drove all the way out to the Rockville store and met with the sales person there, Dixon, and had a fantastic experience. Ferguson should be happy that I just didn’t decide to go somewhere else completely based on the extremely poor service that I got from the Wisconsin Ave store.

Meredith Cross: Keni Jones has helped me on two visits, and she is remarkable. The first time a couple weeks ago I went in to look at new refrigerators because mine (purchased by my builder at another dealer about 8 months ago) was requiring too many repairs. She offered to help me find out how to get it replaced by the dealer for free. That is now happening. Saving $12,000. She didn’t need to help me. She just seems to want to help. Today I went to replace some lights. They have a beautiful selection. I bought a lot of light fixtures with help from Tayler Bordes at the same store in the Fall of 2018. She was fantastically helpful and the lights are great. Today I was there shortly before closing with no appointment. Keni Jones helped me order what I wanted and gave me great advice. I’m a huge fan of Ferguson’s and so glad they opened near DC Chevy Chase!

Jennifer Golden: EDIT/UPDATE: Upped stars to 3 from 1 but can't go higher until I actually experience their services. After the store replied to my review on here and asked that I email them, I did. The manager of the store showed great concern over my experience and seemed quite sincere. Also, many, many, many neighbors on nextdoor dot com voiced their opinions that what I experienced was absolutely not the norm for them. Given most people love to complain and less to praise...having so many take the time to voice praise - I suspect this experience was a fluke. Beautiful showroom, limited refrigerators to look at Totally ignored. I'm in the market for high end refrigerators. Spent a lot of time hovering around the subzero and Gaggenau appliances and was completely ignored. Even asked the front reception when I arrived where the refrigerators are. No even said hi, we'll be right with you. I'll spend my $30k elsewhere, they clearly don't need my business and I'm certainly not going to beg to give it to them.

Allyson Raabe: As far as I could tell, they have a limited selection, mostly priced at full retail, offer little if any valuable design advice, and do not install. I went primarily to look for a bathtub, as I'd really like to see a bathtub before buying it and assumed that a kitchen and bath "Gallery" would have many options, but I was wrong. My bathtub space is probably the most common size there is, but they had only a single option for that size. I have a clear idea of the design I want so really wasn't interested in design "advice," but what I overhead was pretty terrible. A couple was advised to choose a bathroom sink faucet first and then to pick everything else to match. Umm, so forget what kind of shower head you want and need (type, pressure, ahem, legal flow restrictions) and just pick it to match the vanity faucet? That seems crazy, backwards, and potentially code noncompliant. Plus, "matchy matchy" is not design in my opinion. They do have a number of faucet options and a trip there before buying something online would probably help you avoid some annoying online returns, but I think you could find most if not all of what they sell for less through a simple Google search. If you have no idea how to do a Google search or compare prices, then you are probably their ideal customer.

Hanna chakarji: Better prices than you would expect, I was looking for a light for my bathroom, one thatgoes on the wall. Found some beautiful chrome polished triple light. Was the same price as the junk on eBay. They did not have it in stock at Bethesda but they did have it in Richmond, I paid for it at around 3 PM and it was at my home the next day. Awesome place very high-quality items.

Steve Perry: The counter and sales guys are really good, some of the best. It takes a team to have a great company, they are so close. The accounting department doesn't have a clue to as what it is doing! For this reason alone I limit my purchases from this company. You would think they would learn after 100 years how to operate a company properly.

Maya Weil: I purchased door hardware for a complete house remodel a few years ago. The experience in the showroom was excellent. The products are high end and service is great. A few weeks ago a door knob came off and I took it to the hardware store to replace the screw. They could not figure out what I needed so I reached out to Mike and Selena Weaver. She was really helpful and sympathetic. She had the screw shipped to me and then Mike Weaver made a video actually taking apart a knob in his own home to demonstrate how to install it. Now that’s service!

Sarah Olson: Wonderful staff who are an amazing resource for the specialized product lines they carry! We purchased a home with sigma fixtures and after several years developed a small leak. Mike Weaver helped us identify the parts of these fixtures that fail over time (like any product), how to locate replacement parts, and even tried to help us find a plumber who is familiar with sigma fixtures! I cannot speak more highly of Mike and the whole operation. We are so grateful for all their their time and assistance.

Kenneth Sterne: Time does pass so quickly and the people that have helped you enrich and enjoy life are rare. Two, my wife and I have known since 1985 are Bryce and Mike Weaver. They are like their Dad, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in fulfilling your wishes to make your home beautiful. Recently, we needed to repair water damage to our home and wanted qualified people to do the work and who were familiar with the quality the firm represents. Our contractor has done wonderful work and matches the quality of W.T. Weaver & Sons Inc. Problems, yes, not their cause, but, none the less, they went out of their way to help us solve them. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the step beyond in quality, beauty, service, and yes, fun. They are great and we will keep going back.

Each and everyone of the team sincerely values your business and your time. They want to provide you with the best solution specifically for your needs, not theirs. Should you need any plumbing, decorative or architectural hardware, there is no better place to see it all. Makes it easy when matching door handles to cabinet pulls to bath fixtures.....

Porter White: Don't ever buy anything from these guys. I purchased fixtures/fittings from them for a home renovation. They recommended shower fixtures / hardware that, only 12 months later, broke, sending water cascading down the inside of a wall and through the ceiling of my living room. Repairs ran to the thousands of dollars. They took a long time getting me the replacement part, sometimes ignoring me completely. They then shipped the wrong part. When I pointed out how slow they were and how I got the wrong part, they were very defensive. The replacement piece had been in the shower less than a year before it failed again; this time I was faster to realize what was happening and I minimized the water damage (only minor fixes to the ceiling needed.) I am now replacing the entire shower fittings/hardware set they recommended, requiring me to knock through the carrera tile to do it. I wrote them suggesting they should at least refund me the cost of the replacement piece. They declined.

Robert Andrews: This is a good showroom with high end products. The staff is down-to-earth and very helpful. Thoughtful and not pressuring you. They even have a parking lot!

There teally IS a difference -- a good one -- dealing with a multi-generational family business! Prompt, neat, polite and above all 100% competent. I have read that some think they are more expensive that others. I do not know about that. I DO know that to attract and retain a team of experienced, well-trained and skilled technicians, they have to be paid properly....and that the result is consistently high service. We recommend witout reservation.

Emily Shaw: I love this place--such a friendly neighborhood vibe. I get all my plants here, and this one guy who works there (sorry don't remember the name) is my plant guru. They will repot your plants for a small fee if you bring them in, which is so helpful when you live in an apartment. Also--their plants are so reasonably priced!! I bought a gorgeous 7-foot fiddle leaf fig on a whim because the price was literally a quarter of what you'd pay at [unnamed nearby plant shop]. Thank you for everything you do!!

Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.

Baba Harsh: This place is great, I understand it's a mom and pop shop but man the prices are super high. The people are somewhat helpful but got a lot of short answers. Ended up at Home Depot.

Tracy Pakulniewicz: Huge disappointment. I had been waiting three weeks to find a time when my schedule would align with when the store was open. I needed a beveled faucet washer, the smallest container of plumber putty - 14 oz size, and a washer for the inside of my American Standard toilet. I asked William G for assistance in finding the washer, he directed me a case of assorted washers by Lincoln Products. He said it was the only beveled washers in the store. I found the plumber putty and washer. When we got to the counter, he told me the washer container with 160 pieces, was not returnable and was $37. For all three, he tried to charge me $74. I asked him if that was the female rate, given I could get plumber putty for $2 in Home Depot and a washer for no more than $5. He tried to convince me that I was getting the "preferred plumber" rate. (joke, we all know that) I told him to keep the putty and washer. I was desperate for the washer so I purchased the over-priced package of 160 washers and screws. Needless to say, this place insulted my intelligence on pricing and seems to have a history of over charging clients based on other reviews. The selection was not even that vast. I will NEVER shop at Ferguson again and will share with the contractors who referred me to Ferguson how the sales associate attempted to rip me off so they will find a vendor with greater integrity.

Shawna Gann: Not a bad showroom, but I wished that the tags were marked with the brands/manufacturers. While there were lots of chandeliers, we were on the hunt for single sconces for our home bar and only found lights for bathroom vanities and a handful of outdoor sconces. Prices didn’t seem astronomical, so that’s good, but we didn’t find what we were looking for, unfortunately. If you use Google maps to arrive, make sure you drive around to the front, especially if you’re coming off of I-395. Google led us to the back of the building.

Melissa Mattis: Save your gas and just look online, then buy elsewhere. They are overpriced compared to competitors (sometimes $100+ dollar difference). Their website is pretty handy. In person, I’ve never had such non-existent customer service. Went on a Friday at 11am, and they weren’t busy. No one couldn’t be bothered to even say hello to me and I stayed almost an hour.

Valerie DeThomas: No customer service. Not interested in your business. Recommend you go elsewhere. Went to check out TOTO built-in toilet/bidets. Explained that I had questions about different features, etc (some of those toilets are in the thousands of dollars, so yes, I have questions). After some time, the front desk associate printed stuff from their website (at least she recognised my presence!) although I have access to internet and can read things on their website. Two other people (supposedly sales personnel - they were sitting at desks, reading stuff) were not interested in me at all. Didn’t even make eye contact when I approached them. One of them reluctantly tried answering my questions but was completely disinterested in engaging with me, and ultimately did not provide ANY helpful information. I guess I’ll be going to W.T.Weaver & Sons.

Scott Ableman: Great resource for figuring out what you want, and the people are very knowledgeable. If you need custom cabinetry, they are experts.

Gloria E: I have bought a lot of things from Ferguson over the past year. For the most part I did not encounter any issues with the items that I purchased. The issue that I encountered recently involved a bathtub that was delivered on April 5th and was to be moved from the garage to my bathroom on May 4th. I did not notice when the tub arrived that they was a crack in the tub. From the way that the tub was wrapped I would not have noticed it. I called and emailed Ferguson Rep to let them know that the tub was cracked and she checked to see what could be done. The final response was that I still needed to pay $1334 for a new tub. Very difficult to pay for a new tub when I did not damage the one that is in my garage. All who are buying from Ferguson, check everything on arrival because either at 30-days you will still be required to pay for whatever was damaged in shipping.

20TH Century Archivist: Disbelieve all positive reviews for the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. The staff there is rude, unhelpful, incompetent and pay absolutely no attention to customer safety. This explains why today was my last shopping trip to the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. I was walking through one of the aisles in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park and was looking at items on a shelf when I suddenly was tripped and fell to the floor: the staff left several thick and heavy sealed cardboard boxes scattered right on the floor. A store employee came to see what had happened and when she saw me rising from the floor she then promptly lost all interest. The employee "apologized" in an insincere manner and was offended when I criticized her and the store for leaving boxes scattered on the floor for customers to trip on, claiming that she was not the employee responsible. Although I haven't encountered scattered boxes previously in the in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park, the staff there does place too much merchandise in the aisles: they are totally incompetent and rude and cannot properly run the store. Placing heavy sealed cardboard boxes on the store floor for customers to trip on is absolutely the dumbest thing store employees can do: Washington, DC store employees can be among the worst, but I have never encountered such flagrant incompetence in a store in this city before today. The Yelp reviewers posting here leaving all of those five-star reviews probably have never shopped often in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park or spent much time in the store when shopping there. All of the Washington, DC area ACE Hardware stores are poorly staffed and managed, but the Glover Park location is the very worst and has been getting worse since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic: they are unable to deal with more customer demand. For your own safety and sanity, please avoid the ACE Hardware in Glover Park! You will find Lowe’s or the Home Depot to be a safer, saner, and more courteous environment!

danceswithcars w: While the renamed store still hosts TheBikeHouse on the edge of the parking lot and tools inside, not much else has changed, afaict, still kind of unpaid day laborers in relation to a for profit store. When at Qualia it was coffee/light foods and taking over the back yard. This tools, supplies and learning some basic mechanics. How to change a flat. How a ratchet works. On up through what can be done with bikes... At times I wish TBH would takeover a foreclosed property and have a home... Until then I guess buy cold sweet liquids while baking to death in the heat without bathroom nor filtered cold water access. FWIW I was at the (original) opening with council member(s), food truck, etc. District HW (w 🚲), old Capital Hill Fragers that burned, saw deceased mayor there, etc.

Mark Pry: Excellent hardware store in the Petworth area that typically has everything I need. The staff are friendly and helpful. Chris was especially helpful when I needed to grab a few bags of mulch!

Daniel Alexander: The first time I came to this location, I received excellent help in finding the right size nail for a small drawer. But today, despite the store not being very busy, no one offered much help in me trying to decide on plants or planters. Fine, I can do it myself. But then the plastic plate rang up for over twice the actual price. And none of the plastic planters have any prices, so I ended up returning everything and leaving with only time wasted - if I can't trust the register to ring up one item properly (aka theft) then I think the other prices might be wrong (or just way overpriced for some cheap plastic planters).

K R: Wonderful local hardware store that carries anything you need for the home. Cleaning supplies, paint, tools, key cutting, balloons, flowers, plants and everything in between. The staff is always nice and during COVID they were my go to spot for supplies. Some amazing clearance deals as well.

Meghan Griffin: The folks at this Ace hardware are fantastic! I have brought many home improvement ideas to them since I moved to the neighborhood, and it’s always with earnestness and a pleasant demeanor that the staff help me work out solutions. On a recent visit, May and Louie helped me to unstick a really stuck bolt on the hinge from my refrigerator door. I went in seeking a screw that would fit a warped sleeve in a new piece of furniture, and Chris went above and beyond to help me fix my problem. He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. It was so kind of him to offer his assistance, I likely would have had to exchange the furniture if I didn’t have his help. I have come to this location a few times and I have always been incredibly impressed by the service. Huge thank you to Chris!

Jessica C: I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. E Callahan: This was installed in a home I purchased but a faulty washer / seat meant that the faucet dripped onto a wood counter, staining it. After numerous attempts to contact support to try to obtain a new seat & washer as well as to obtain simple information about the seat wrench size needed to properly install (every single hardware store and plumbing supply store in the DMV area did not have the necessary tool), I was told to purchase an entirely new faucet. For appx $2000-$4000. Aside from the leak, the faucet finish was also fading in part (no harsh cleaners were used). I originally loved the look of the faucet, but ended up replacing with a Kingston Brass after even my trusted plumber could do nothing about the leak. 3 months later and no leaks and no issues with the KB finish. For the expense of these, I would have expected much better performance and much better customer service. Never again.

Yasmin Yatzkan: I'm renovating my bathroom and was looking around the shop, when a glass door swung out and hit me. I cried out and two employees who were sitting at a table upstairs glared at me. A simple "are you OK" would have sufficed, but the look of disapproval that I received from these employees made me feel very uncomfortable that I walked out. I will not be shopping here again.

Christa Forgue: The store is beautiful. The selection was endless. Karen was very helpful and really helped us narrow down to what would go great in our kitchen. The only fallback was price. I would recommend to anyone :)

Mark Blanchard: Called ahead of going there to make sure they have a product on the shelf. The person on the phone put me on hold to check, and a few minutes later came back to confirm they have plenty in stock. So I drove over to the store, and when I got there I couldn't find the product. I asked an associate to help me find the product, and he told me that they don't have any in stock (that was 8 minutes after I made my phone call). Nice people, but quite incompetent.

Randy Moulton: I'm a life long civil libertarian and refuse to wear a mask. I was told to leave if I wouldn't wear a mask and couldn't buy if I didn't comply. Rather than escalate, the manager offered to shop for me if I waited outside. He got what I wanted and brought the receipt and purchases outside and said he would meet me outside if I needed to return anything. A+ for service

Adam Stryker: I hesitate to recommend this store because then folks will know where I get all the unique things in my home. Also, my family and friends will know where I got some of their unique gifts. I don't want to give it all away. Stop in and see what I'm talking about. Their buyers are geniuses. It's like going back in time to the New York City of the past where private stores reigned. I love unique gifts you could only find in NYC before they turned it into a suburban shopping mall. TWINS ACE HARDWARE IS MORE THAN A HARDWARE STORE. IT'S EVERYTHING. ( I'm already regretting that I told you. Don't buy up all my favorites!)

Scott Eltringham: One of three great hardware stores in Arlington--Cherrydale and Bill's True Value are the other two--Twins is more modern feeling than the other two. It has the widest selection of goods of the three stores and a lot of fun, not-really-hardware stuff. They also cut keys well. The staff is always friendly and fairly knowledgeable. Parking can be difficult.
