Luke Penella: Absolutely terrible place to shop!!! Stay so far away from this business. I was ready to buy a $7k IWC watch of my dreams. I’ve been looking for this model forever..I had the cash in my pocket. I got a phone call at the store confirmed by the client I just made a huge business deal!!!! I just found out I made over 1 million $ from an artist from the the night before. Of course i was a bit excited. They didn’t like my energy and had security escort me out?!!?! If you find yourself in this joke of a business find the sales person George he was fantastic!!! I’d give this place negative stars if possible. I’m in the music business. I’m a nice kind human being. This is first review I’ve ever wrote. I came back later in the afternoon to buy the watch as it is my dream piece but the only sales person George that had a soul was at lunch so they lost a 7k sale.. please don’t shop at this horrible place

Shahin Yousefzadeh: I’ve always felt a sense of warm welcoming here from the first moment I visited a few months ago. From the man greeting me to my right when I first walk in, to Brian the most helpful and kind person that guided me through my experience, and to Matt the owner who makes you feel like he just welcomed you to his own home. The quality of service and attention to detail working with Brian is beyond what my expectations were. This has to be the first and only place to come when seeking to purchase jewelry, watches, or gifts to build memories with loved ones.

P B: I understand the current watch market and luxury goods market - there are waitlists and backlogs of orders, I get it. My experience with TJB was bad enough for me to spend the time to write a review. I tried to purchase a Rose Gold Rolex watch from this store and knew I would have to wait several months but was told no waiting and instead I needed to “purchase other low desirable items first” to “build a relationship with them”. I don’t think that’s how Rolex wants it’s retailers selling their watches, forcing customers to buy other brands first. I was offered an ugly undesirable Patek and told I had to buy it if I wanted any chance at my Rose Gold Rolex. I of course passed. Liljenquest & Beckstead (further away) did not do this with me and added me to their waitlist and sold me a different Rolex model without requiring me to buy anything else from them. Stay away from TJB and their unprofessional greedy sales tactics.

Adam: Fantastic experience from each employee I have met there. But more specifically, my wife and had a wonderful shopping experience with Brian Ehteshami when we tried on and later purchased a Rolex. From the time we first visited to when the GMT became available, Brian displayed professionalism, an excellent sense of humor, and set realistic expectations for a brand in high demand world-wide. I have confidently recommended and will continue to recommend TJB to others for their great service, extensive selection of Swiss watches, and high quality jewelry.

Robin Arteaga: tl;dr: I recently visited Tiny Jewel Box (TBJ) to try on a few Rolex exhibition references. While I left empty-handed, I had a great experience with the help of Brian Ehteshami. Review: I've been searching for a Rolex Oyster Perpetual in black dial (ref. 126000) since right before the Rolex market took a sharp turn due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I've contacted nearly every AD in the DMV for assistance in acquiring this specific model. While a handful of ADs responded to my inquiries, Brian Ehteshami was the only one that (1) called me back, (2) exchanged emails with me, and (3) invited me to visit their store to try on their exhibition watches. I had a great time trying on an OP, Datejust, and Explorer at TJB. Brian answered all my questions without issue, and his professionalism and friendly demeanor made my first visit to an AD an enjoyable experience. I look forward to giving my business to TJB in the (hopefully very) near future!

Tulane Grad: This used to be my favorite watch and gifts retailer. I've spent more on gifts than watches! They stopped selling and servicing TAG Heuer watches (because of too many competitors? 27 or so??) and too casually referred me to another jeweler in Arlington with less than stellar reviews. So where to take my three TAG watches now that all need batteries? All have more sentimental value than $ value. What brand will Tiny Jewel Box discontinue next? I had new batteries installed in three other less expensive watches none the less. Picked them up on January 7th. The battery in the Shinola watch has already died in less than one month!!! One less person shopping in downtown DC...imagine that...I will miss you, George.

Lauren Secor: I cannot recommend Tiny Jewel Box enough to my friends, family, and colleagues. Be it 'thinking-of-you' gift or a significant piece to bookmark a great achievement, look no further than TJB. I have made several purchases here; from (my favorite) Alex Sepkus pieces to a very special gift, my experience shopping here has never been anything less than stellar. Particularly; I want to thank Brian E. for his professional and courteous customer service- it's bar none. I worked with him to source an in-demand piece that was not only an awesome gift, but also incredibly meaningful. Brian made it happen. I would also be remiss to not mention Monette C. who is wonderful! I feel like I am treated like family when I am in store, and am always greeted warmly. TJB will forever be my go to jewelry store no matter where we live, and I feel the loyalty is reciprocal.

John Fritz: I'm a watch collector with a few high end pieces and have never been treated more rudely. Once they stop carrying a brand good luck getting any semblance of service for it (Tag, Longines, etc). They outright lied about the volume of Rolex models coming in and out of the store blaming the AD list. Insisted that any inspection or modification of a watch (including band sizing and validation of authenticity) would be a full service charge of several hundred dollars when other ADs do it as a complimentary service. Just avoid overall and go to the Tourneau in pentagon city.

Myi Oui: this was my first time at a pawn shop so i was nervous but it was quick and friendly service. sold my items and received cash for it and it didn't take more than about 20 minutes. if you don't want to deal with the hassle of selling online just come in here and get cash in hand, ofc you're not going to get nearly as much as if you sold it yourself online but if that doesn't bother u much this is a great place to go.

Derek Dissell: I purchased a watch at $900+ and wore it maybe 5-7 times. The band started fraying and I requested that they try to glue it back since a watch in good condition shouldn't have such serious issues so quickly. They flatly refused and therefore lose my business going forward

Francis Jafari: I have been to many pawn shops throughout my life! I’m a bit of a junkie for them. I love shopping there and finding great things for great prices. I will say crown pawn shop is by far the best I’ve ever encountered! Everyone there is so amazing and willing to help anyway they can! Just ask for mike and he will drop what he’s doing to help. He has always been fair and given me the best deals and gives top dollar for all my items. They also have a female staff member, mrs Jessica who has extensive knowledge of jewelry and can really help you with all questions you have and will work with your budget to help send you home with the ring or watch you desire! All in all this is a 5 star pawn shop and I would recommend it over and over again, so make it your first stop if you’re looking for great deals and great staff!!!

Caroline: This is an overdue review of the great experience my fiancé and I had shopping for rings at Solovey! Stacey, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful over our several visits to the store. She also didn’t bat an eye at our modest budget and still managed to present a lot of options to us. In the end, she got her goldsmith to add a stone to an existing band for my engagement ring, and I got a lovely engraved wedding band at the same time. Highly recommend Solovey for their great vintage selection and customer service.

Laila Rosenthal: I went in to pick out an engagement ring because I really wanted something vintage and a my moms friend suggested Solovey. Awesome selection of rings, settings, and loose stones. Stacy was extremely helpful without being pushy at all. The prices were reasonable and she advised me on hardness and profile and all different types of options. Really great experience.

She really made me feel like I was a nuisance by the way she told me they normally close at 5, but she was leaving at 2, and that I should make an appointment for the next day. I went to the competition down the street, spent $3k on beautiful ring, and was treated like royalty!

Christine L: This jewelry store was absolutely delightful! The owner, Traci, and her assistant, Karen, were tremendously knowledgeable, patient, articulate, creative ladies--not at all pushy! I went in to the store looking to find a specific type of estate ring--and Karen found something even better than I could have imagined. Additionally, Traci was able to take Karen's ring recommendation and provided me with some ideas of how her goldsmith could adapt the ring to work with my current engagement ring. Traci invited me back to observe and speak with her goldsmith and to take a look at some of his other current work so that I can get a solid understanding of my purchase and request. Both ladies were super friendly--GREAT vibe--and not overly assertive. As for the store itself, there was a wonderful selection of estate jewelry across the spectrum/decades--if you're looking for something unique and beautiful and creative, Solovey Jewelers is a MUST! I am so glad I went in here--you will be too! These ladies do NOT disappoint.

Tanner Treschuk: I cannot recommend I. Gorman enough! I worked with Adam to custom create the engagement ring for my soon to be wife-Sarah, and she absolutely loves it! Going into this process I thought that I wouldn’t be able to create a ring that was worthy of being on her hand for the rest of our lives, but Adam proved me wrong. He made himself available and kindly guided me along the way to create something that not only perfectly represents the relationship Sarah and I have, but also lights up her face every morning when she puts it on. We went with something non-traditional, and I couldn’t have asked for a better ring to hide my teary-eyed face while proposing. I am truly grateful for Adam’s help, and his wonderful staff at I. Gorman, who created this one-of-a-kind ring. Thank you, Adam, and everyone else at I. Gorman, for making this beautiful piece of jewelry that my wife and I will cherish for the rest of our lives!

Natalie Aldea: I fully recommend I Gorman Jewelers to anyone looking for a wedding ring. Adam was extremely helpful in resolving the issue below. He went out of his way to make things right for my husband and I. The final ring is absolutely beautiful. We originally purchased a beautiful ring from this jeweler in person at the store. When asked what metal we preferred (14k or 18k gold) we opted for 18k. When we received the ring in store and read the appraisal at home, we were shocked and disappointed to read that the ring was made in oxidized sterling silver with an 18k yellow gold hammered sheet over the top of the silver. We had no idea that was even an option. Had the silver metal been disclosed to begin, we would’ve have asked to adjust or look for another ring elsewhere. As a result, I rated this jeweler a 2 star. However, shortly after we returned from our wedding, Adam contacted us to see what he could do to make it right. He invited us back to the store to take another look, then did everything he could to get us the ring of our dreams for the right value. If you are looking for a dedicated jeweler that will take care of you as a customer, I Gorman is the place. We will continue to shop with this fantastic company for our jewelry needs. Thank you Adam for everything. We are truly happy with the beautiful ring.

Zachary Goodwick: Had a wonderful experience with Bonnie who was so nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. She took so much time to go through all the options and explain everything to us and in the end we picked the perfect engagement ring for an incredibly reasonable price. Mark. Avery: It was a week before Christmas and my local jewelry stores did not have what I was looking for and most were at least 2 weeks out if I was to order it that day. Not a great selection either. I was afraid I missed the window. :( I reached out to I Gorman Jewelers with a quick phone call and spoke to Adam. He was very polite and I explained what I was looking for and that I needed to have it before the upcoming holiday. He assured me that he could assist and meet the deadline. Within a few minutes of speaking with Adam, he had an idea of what I was looking for. An hour later, I had photos, descriptions and even a brief summary of our conversation and what I was looking for. I made the purchase and 3 days later, I received the ring at my doorstep. The presentation was classy and the ring is beautiful and most of all my wife loves it!! From the first phone call to the communication and finally the delivery, they knocked it out of the park. If your looking for a Jeweler who has your best interest at hand, that can create just about anything, I Gorman Jewelers is the place to go. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

S Cheek: My wife's engagement ring setting became extremely loose to the point where she could no longer wear her ring in fear the stone would fall out. We searched for over a year to find a jeweler that we felt we could trust, to either replace the setting or create a new custom design. I was introduced to I Gorman Jewelers via a recommendation and could not be more impressed with their service. We met with Nicole, who did a fabulous job coming up with a design for my wife's custom ring. We left my wife's ring in the capable hands of I Gorman and several weeks later I went back to pick up my wife's new custom ring. My wife had in her mind's eye exactly what she wanted her ring to look like and we were hopeful, yet extremely nervous, the jewelry designer would be able to create it. Upon picking up the ring up from I Gorman, I knew immediately that my wife would be impressed!! It was perfect in every way and turned out even better than what we imagined!!! I gave my wife her new ring right before our 5th anniversary in April 2021. She was absolutely blown away at how beautiful the ring design turned out!! Seeing her overcome with so much joy and happiness when I presented her with her new custom ring was something I will never forget!! I can not recommend I Gorman Jewelers enough!! They have a new customer for life and I will certainly be making additional purchases in the future!! And thank you Nicole for everything!!

Miranda W.: My boyfriend and I visited a couple different jewelry shops before being recommended to try I. Gorman as we were looking for something less traditional. We were not aware that they were by appointment only until we were right outside the door and were able to read the sign. After a minute, Bonnie met us outside and asked if we had an appointment. Upon finding out that we were referred here, she quickly checked the schedule and allowed us to come in. She was very warm, and accommodating, helping us to find the perfect ring. While other jewelry shops didn’t seem to care, I mentioned that the standard size ring didn’t fit so it was hard to imagine it on, and Bonnie recommended I put the ring on my pinky finger to get a better idea. She also had me stand in front of a mirror so that I could see how the ring would look from a distance instead of just looking down at my hand. It was a great experience and you could tell that Bonnie really cared. I’m sure the rest of the team there is just the same!

They were able to gorgeously add elements from a family heirloom and we ended with a beautiful extra necklace for my mother-in-law. Alana Duran: I was looking for a place that could resize a few watches I bought online. I came in on a Monday evening and left one of the watches there so they could remove a few links for me. I didn’t catch the woman’s name (gorgeous white hair) who helped me on Monday but she was lovely and we shared some sassy banter as we tried to figure out readjusting my other two watches. I came back on Tuesday afternoon to pick up my watch and get help readjusting the other two. Alex showed/taught me how to adjust my watches and made sure they fit. Alex was patient and extremely helpful. The people here are kind and lovely and I will be back to purchase jewelry after my first few commission checks.

Clarke Birrell: I really appreciate the tailored assistance by the Secrete team provided at every step. Their shop is conveniently located and they have a custom ring process that was above expectations. I would fully recommend Secrete Fine Jewelry for custom engagement rings.

Kelly & Isaiah: We had an awesome experience designing our custom engagement ring with Secrète! This was our first experience buying fine jewelry and Mari was somehow able to translate a doodle on a post-it note into a perfect ring! Here are some conclusions from the whole experience: -Don’t be intimidated by the location—they had rings at a lot of price points and were really welcoming of the fact that we already had a family “heirloom” diamond -Ask a lot of questions! Mari was very helpful both when we were in the store and afterwards when I would send her questions by email. She guided us through the whole process, which was invaluable for such an important decision -Definitely prioritize an independent jeweler over a big box jeweler. Not only is the quality top notch, but you’re also getting a level of service/responsiveness that just can’t be replicated by the chain stores We are so happy with the final result that we’ll be going back for our wedding bands. Couldn’t recommend this store or Mari enough!

Rish Tanna: Wonderful experience here at Secrète having a watch resized. The watch band was a little more complex, so I was asked to come back after 30-45 minutes. Grabbed some lunch and came back with a ready watch. Will definitely be back!

They had my ring back to me faster than expected and the resize was done beautifully. I will certainly be back in the future!

But I came in here about 3 weeks ago and had a broken band on my watch, looking to pay to get it fixed. The lady, Mari, took it and fixed it in about 4 minutes. Didn’t charge a dime. Great place.

I took the collection into Pampillonia Jewelers in Bethesda Row. The staff there carefully appraised the pieces and made me an offer for all but one piece. The offer exceeded what I had believed possible. They were highly professional, very courteous and saw me without an appointment. A great and positive experience!

Julie Roby: Steve Pampillonia helped me custom design a right-hand ring that I absolutely love and is completely unique to my style. He patiently and artistically sorted through all my ideas from Pinterest to arrive at the design, then cast it in a plastic mold so I could see it on my hand before real metal and stones were used. This was very helpful in my decision making process and helped me feel confident that the money would be well spent. It was a lovely shopping experience and I highly recommend Pampillonia for all your future jewelry needs! They have gorgeous vintage pieces as well :)

Eva Evans: My visit to Pampillonia was few years ago. Sacrificing one of my day-off, I made an effort to travel over an hour to reach their store, finding the address wasn't easy (following the GPS), parking was complicated and paid (I had to get parking pass from the store). But I was exited! I wanted to visit the store because of two reasons: I liked one pair of diamond earrings that I saw on-line and I wanted to see in private, before to purchase (I was ready to make the purchase). Second reason was that I had a genuine vintage diamond ring, that I wanted to sell. Well, Pampillonia store was a HUGE disappointment! First, I was not treated as a valued customer from the beginning. The earrings that I was interested in resulted being sold, however the sales person wasn't enthusiastic to show me something similar. But the biggest disappointment for me was the owner. Let me clarify, that I prior to go to the store I sent him an email with pictures of my vintage ring for sale, and he was very interested in it! However, when I was there physically in the store, the owner was sceptic, he took my ring and went somewhere inside, he didn't invited me to sit down or to come in the back office with him, I had to wait standing there and I didn't feel comfortable. He came back with an offer that was a joke! He also doubted the age of my ring! I know and I am absolutely certain about the provenance of my heirloom ring! There was no purchase and no deal, as you can assume. In the end, I was interested to see one pair of antique earrings from the window. The owned didn't even bother to show me these earrings! He just said that they are VERY expensive, may be assuming that I am VERY poor! In Pampilonia I met nothing else but ignorance, arrogance, humiliation!

Katrina Carey: My fiance and I went looking for an engagement ring and wedding bands at multiple jewelers in DC. Pampillonia was, by far, the most helpful and sympathetic. We wanted something unique and of excellent quality, while still being on a low budget. Every other store we went to only offered the most generic and 'in style' rings for thousands over our price range, and there were limited and expensive options for personalization/custom design. When we walked into Pampillonia, Steve Pampillonia and his family welcomed us with genuine kindness and client-oriented service. Within 5 minutes, Steve brought out an unfinished ring setting that was exactly the design I had been looking for and nearly given up on finding. Pampillonia worked with our tight deadline and somehow finished my BEAUTIFUL engagement ring with the exact stone I wanted (which Steve let me pick out of a number of color/quality options and had cut specially for the ring). In this short time span, Pampillonia also helped us find and size the perfect unique platinum wedding bands that both my fiance and I LOVE! And all this, Pampillonia did for us at the most conservative prices (even adding suggestions and military discount to make the rings cheaper for our young wallets)! For anyone looking for high quality stones/stone setting, unique and timeless jewelry, beautiful estate rings, sizing platinum, honest and exemplary service...etc., I would recommend Pampillonia a thousand times over.

Jesse Cowan: A great experience! For two years now I’ve sold jewelry to Pampillonia that was donated to (but too valuable to sell at) our school sale. They gave me the best prices by far of the 3 places I consulted, they repaired one piece, and they were knowledgeable and educated me about the pieces I brought in but knew little about. I was blown away by the professionalism and expertise of the Pampillonia staff. They gave me a great quote that I knew was honest (I had had the pieces appraised). Steve and Dino Pampillonia were a pleasure to deal with along with another staff member named by the name of Steve. I had such a good experience, I went back a week later and sold a few more items to them. If you're in the market to buy or sell jewelry, I highly recommend Pampillonia.

Kurt LaRose MSW LCSW LICSW: The antiques and the finds here are wonderful. The staff, volunteers, care so much about the items. Here I am reminded of my grandparents dishes, jewelry, paintings, dishes, silver, metalurgy, pocket watches, rugs .... and the iron statutes are just phenomenal. Today I found a 10k gold rosary engraved from 1924 ... with a historical attention to detail that is awesome. The people working in the store celebrate the items as you look.

Found four rare Portmeirion pottery pieces as well as two pieces of vintage high-end jewelry. These were very fairly priced with the market. Excellent collection of dishes, silver, and crystal. Go there instead of doing a wedding registry! So much more green! Rock on Opportunity Shop - you made my heart happy today seeing things re-purposed! The place was packed!

Eric Rajendra: The best antique and bric-a-brac store in all of DC. Our family in Georgetown has given thousands of dollars worth in contributions of our own antiques we no longer needed and then we bought thousands of dollars more in antiques we needed!! This place is a gem for us Washingtonians!! The volunteer staff members are truly precious and really dedicated!! They love their work and make the entire experience of browsing a joy. The second floor has great stuff so GO UP!! Jewelry, silverware, Asian antiques, porcelain, etc! You won’t be disappointed. You need to return weekly as new consignments and donations come all the time!! Trust me.

Sam Bartley: This place looks amazing. And everything is very nice. But this place is no thrift store. Almost everything here is consignment and the prices can be outrageous. If you're looking for a place to get fine decor and fine bone china (and you're willing to pay hundreds of dollars for it) this is the place. But if you're a student or a person that has anything called a budget restricting you, don't come here.

Randolph Lopez: Question the authenticity of the antiques and antiquities. Do not be misled. I was foolish enough to believe the descriptions that were displayed on the Asian pieces and the purity of some silver pieces that I purchased. I am not a seasoned collector. I only depend on the honesty of people; especially those associated with a “Christian” charity.

Tom Preston: Prices are too high, often higher than the antiques shops in the neighborhood. No bargains unfortunately. And reductions are not per standard consignment shops- only 20% every 60 days instead of every 30 days. Not sure how they stay in business TBH.

A. Greenough Dodd: Huge fan of this nonprofit consignment shop (aka The "Op Shop"!) that benefits the needs of DC area children. Always great finds, but definitely allow time to peruse the many items. Well-worth the search!

Henrry Palacios: Visited this store for the first time today and had a great experience! Staff is very friendly and the option of clothes was great. I was able to purchase two pants at a reasonable price and both were in great condition!

Maddie A.: Do NOT come here if you are looking for a large inventory or are in search of places to thrift. There are several other stores (such as REDDz) within a mile with much larger inventory and friendlier staff. When I tried to ask the owner (presumably) a genuine question about sales policies in the store, he answered my question in a manner so flip that it suggested I had asked him the most obvious thing ever. Additionally, this is not the place to be if you are looking for cleanliness. The store has a roaming cat and my mother had to step out after a couple minutes due to a reaction; there are other obvious signs of pet filth about. TLDR: this place is not worth your time no matter who you are.

Sherri LaRowe: Neat shop. Support a long-time local biz like this and score inexpensive deals that your closet will love. Its hard not to leave without something each time I visit. Just got a brand new Lilly Pulitzer dress (original tags still on it read $188) for $42. And a brand new Ann Taylor light pink work and fun appropriate skirt for $12 (still had original tags too!).

Sarah Kramer: Although it’s a small store, they always have a great selection of both gently-used and new apparel and fabulous inexpensive jewelry. Today I found five spring dresses, an unworn pair of heels, and new earrings for an unbeatable price. This place is leagues above Poshmark and online consignment stores.

Nick Eddy: Been going to remix about once a month since well before the move to the current location. I've bought men's office, casual, and athletic wear over the years. The owner buys only quality items, has good taste, and charges very reasonable prices. A Bethesda gem.

Sharon: Went last week, it’s a small place but I feel that the selection is pretty good, especially for cute crops and jeans (compared to platos). I got some nike leggings for $8. I couldn’t find too much in my size (pants I’m about a 10-12 and I’m on the larger side).The people working were nice and checked up on us! Overall would recommend if you’re looking to find some thrifted pieces. (You apparently can sell your items here)

So not only did the store not notify me of this emergency today but has had TWO days to notify and cancel appointments for this "EMERGENCY" lasting two days. This was the worst first impression I have ever had. Please have the courtesy to tell your customers that you will be CLOSED till further notice. I would have saved on GAS and TIME.

Thaddaeus Cox: My (now) wife and I visited the showroom years ago when shopping for an engagement ring, after selecting a few choices online. Without being told which diamonds were natural or lab created, as they sell created and ethically sourced, both my wife and I picked the lab created diamond to be the most beautiful. Four years later and the engagement and wedding rings are still as captivating as day one. Just purchased diamond earrings online for a Valentine’s present and my wife loves them! Prices were competitive with big name diamond jewelers and shipping was fast. Packaging was perfect for a gift too. Very happy with both shopping experiences and all three diamond products!

Paige Gressman: This is not a review of the Dc location because they were wonderful but rather Brilliant Earth as a whole. We received these rings on February 16th 2019. By April 8th 2019 I noticed I was missing three stones while traveling in Greece. My husband and I were extremely upset because it had been only been TWO MONTHS! I was also 6 months pregnant and not working or doing really anything in order to damage the rings. We had brilliant earth fix the rings and we received them around late May of 2019. Fast forward to mid pandemic I noticed I was missing 2 stone AGAIN and this time my center stone (a little over 2 carats) was about to fall out as well… since it happened during the shutdown we couldn’t go into the showroom until about June of 2020. We were going to replace the whole ring but they were going to take our ring and make us pay full price for a new one. Which was going to be $2500 out of pocket for just the new engagement setting. They were not going to let us trade in our ring and pay the difference so we decided on keeping the ring and have them fix it once again. Now it’s December 2nd 2021 and I lost a Diamond two days ago and one today. I want to WARN anyone who is wanting to purchase their “dream” ring and thinks it’ll last forever because you will not get this at Brilliant Earth. It will last you a few months if you’re lucky and I honestly do not do anything lol I drop my daughter off at daycare while my husband goes to work and I go home for the rest of the day to do homework for my masters program. Most of the time I do not wear my rings either because I’m home and I’ll only wear them when we go out. I’m highly disappointed in the quality of these rings and I wish they were better but sadly they are not. I now have to find a new company to trade my dream rings to and buy a new set so we don’t have to worry about constantly losing diamonds. It breaks my heart because I truly love these rings but they will not withstand the test of time. Save your money and buy literally anywhere else.

Irina Iles: I am sharing my experience so that other customers make an informed decision when selecting which company to go with for a diamond. My partner and I were looking for a loose diamond to send to a jewelry designer who is working on an engagement ring for us. We chose Brilliant Earth for their ethical diamond sourcing and relatively fair prices. What happened was a bit of a nightmare that turned what was supposed to be a happy/pleasant experience into a quite literal headache. We bought the diamond on 1/2/2022 and had an estimated delivery date for 1/7/2022. We notified our designer about it and during the week kept checking for delivery updates. Everything appeared to be on track until Friday (the actual delivery date) when a brilliant earth customer rep contacted us to say that the diamond we had bought 5 days ago wasn't actually in stock but a system glitch allowed us to buy it. The customer rep tried to search for alternatives, all of which were of same carat weight, but worse specs otherwise (color, depth, ratio, etc.). We did not agree with such replacements and did a search of our own on their website. We found a comparable diamond to the one we initially purchased, but that was a bit more expensive. We asked brilliant earth what sort of discount they could offer us on this new diamond to approach the price we paid for the other one, considering the inconvenience they had caused us and that this was the only diamond of comparable quality that they had in stock. Customer rep said she would ask supervisor and advised we called to check in the following day. We did and were told a supervisor had rejected our request. Because they didn't provide any other alternative (we were currently without a diamond, credit card charged, designer waiting on us to work on the actual ring), we asked to speak with a supervisor to find a solution or get a refund as soon as possible. After about an hour on the phone during which anyone with decision making power refused to talk with us because they were busy and told us to wait, we finally got in touch with a supervisor. We were told they can't replace the diamond we were supposed to receive with a more expensive one because they're not a charity. We asked if they're able to provide any sort of discount so that the one diamond they had in stock that was comparable to what we ordered and didn't receive would approach the price we were willing to pay. Again, they're not a charity. They even said that they actually usually charge $2k to look for a diamond for clients and as a courtesy they were not charging us that. So, it was a courtesy they weren't charging us anything extra to help us find a diamond to replace the one we didn't receive due to their fault and we should be grateful for that; how dare we ask for a discount or a speedy resolution to our issue (at some point during the call, supervisor also said it was actually FedEx who lost our diamond, so who knows what the truth is, all we can tell is that our diamond was not received). We understand tech issues/FedEx issues (whichever was the case) happen, but we are also of the opinion that the vendor must assume responsibility for such issues and provide a satisfactory resolution. This was a luxury good we bought and you expect decent customer service to come with it (at least show some compassion, even if you fake it). In the end, we cancelled our order and went to one of their direct competitors instead. I do not recommend Brilliant Earth and I will not seek their products in the future. I wish their ethical diamond sourcing practices will at some point extend to their customer relations.

Frank Black: I bought my wife's engagement ring from Brilliant Earth in Jul 2018. Within the first year and a half, some of the small stones fell out. We thought their insurance would replace the stones, but instead I paid more than 550 to replace and have the prong reinforced. The exact same thing has occurred again, but this time I will replace the ring altogether. I will reuse the main stone and find a "Real Jewelry" store to purchase the bands. I am truly disappointed in Brilliant Earth - the concept and idea are excellent, but their execution is very poor. Do yourself a favor, and pass on Brilliant Earth - I cannot recommend them at all.

Anthony Jones: Not a review of the store itself, but if the company. Original ring was sent with missing diamonds in the setting. Sent back for repairs. Terrible communication in terms of letting me know what was happening with the ring. Furthermore, took way too long (over a month) for such a simple repair. Lastly when I called to find out what was going on, I was told multiple times the “guaranteed” shipping date was in a few days or a week… but when that day would come, nothing. I would call again and they would tell me the same exact thing. Finally got frustrated and said I wanted a refund and that seemed to be the only time anyone actually took me serious. Eventually they said they would make it high priority… which apparently they did because I finally got the ring back. Overall a stressful, frustrating, and very disappointing experience. Would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Doing research now, I see similar complaints from multiple people. Be weary…

Abram Olmstead: Before getting engaged, I took my wife to Tiffany's where she couldn't find anything she liked. Then we stopped by Brilliant Earth, in Georgetown, where she loved a few too many of the options. Afterwards, I designed the perfect engagement ring online. Amazing experience. About a year, later we had a small issue with her wedding band: one of the diamonds fell off and was lost. Brilliant Earth replaced the diamond and reinforced the setting free of charge. Excellent service. And my wife still gets compliments on her rings constantly. I've since purchased diamond earrings and a diamond necklace as well, which are all equally stunning.

Shawn DuBravac: Totally disappointed with the customer service at Brilliant Earth. Their website says you can swing by the store and they will work to accommodate you. We stopped by and there were zero people in the showroom. Staff is just standing around. Their unwillingness to see potential customers is baffling. The woman working the front door was completely unhelpful. The whole experience was extremely weird.

Alex Atkinson: My now fiance and I chose Brilliant Earth to purchase our engagement ring because of good reviews, many beautiful ring options, and availability of lab-grown diamonds. My fiance purchased the ring just in time for a special vacation where he would propose. The proposal went great, however, less than 24 hours after the proposal and my wearing the Cometa ring, one of the accent stones fell out! I had not done anything that would have caused this to happen in a well made ring that is intended to be worn daily and last a very long time. We contacted BE immediately to let them know and expressed serious concern with the quality of the product. They barely apologized and didn’t seem surprised that this had happened and said it could be repaired. We were both really wary of having to repair a ring we just bought and that I will wear for many years to come. Luckily, we were within our return window and opted to return the ring for a full refund. We don’t want other couples to make this same mistake and choose BE to make this once in a lifetime investment - their product is not meant to last a lifetime and, after reading more reviews online, I do not think we are the only ones to deal with stones falling out way too early. This is unacceptable and you should take your business elsewhere.

Abdulrahman: **Update to my review below 03/01/2022** Disappointed with customer service: We booked an appointment to resize a necklace, and when we got there, they informed us that they don’t offer the service!!! Keep in mind that I asked them before buying the necklace if I could resize it in the future, and they said “definitely”! Looking at the newest review, you will find why this place should be your last option! —— I received a call from the manager yesterday that clarifies why they can’t help us to shorten necklaces. Although the phone call did not fix the issue, I appreciate it! — I received new phone call and the store is now ready to fix the issue! Going to make an appointment and see how it goes!

Zal Sayari: Not sure how they were able to scrub our review- but they lost my wife’s engagement ring when we gave it back to them to have it resized. Then kept us in the dark for weeks about what happened and finally their solution was to compensate us with a similar engagement ring and the smallest Diamond earring they had available - forget any sentimental value with the lost ring!

Elizabeth N Ruhl: After having checked out a few other diamond stores in the area, I was disappointed with their lack of knowledge and/or service. It was then a friend recommended me to Washington Diamond. I had wrongly thought Washington Diamond was pricer than other diamond stores; they are not. From the moment my husband and I met with Tom, we were put at ease. The project we were working on was a complete reset to a diamond which included hard to find shield cut diamonds and a custom made band that had several requirements. Tom immediately had sources to call and stones for us to see the next day. Mind you, these are not stones that are readily available in the market - even for jewelers. He also went to work on designing a custom setting and had his goldsmiths work on the most perfect ring which fits beautifully against my entity band. Tom and his team included small, personal details which make this piece very heartfelt and stand out. Taylor Hallagan: My partner had my ring formed here at Washington Diamond without any insight to my ring size in order to keep the proposal a surprise, so my first interaction with Washington Diamond was getting the ring resized. I came in on Tuesday and worked with Janelle who allowed me to try on a few sizes for comfort, explained the difference my winter fingers would arrive to come summer, and shared that the resizing would be completed by Friday. The ring was ready Thursday! I worked with Virginia on Thursday for pickup, and she made me feel soo good about the ring itself! She must see fabulous rings all the time, and yet when she brought mine out, she wowed at it and everything and it was such a nice feeling. Then before leaving Thursday, I got to see the Sharon who not only recommended the place to my partner in the first place, but she works there, too. Before leaving, she asked me about my entire experience. I let her know how fast the resizing was and she let me in on their quickness for first timers, since they're aware of how much the newly engaged feel off with out the ring. They think of everything! Sharon talked to me about the security of the location with the two-door locked access and how safe the office is, she spoke emphatically over how the display pre-Covid, and even offered for me to come by anytime to get my ring freshened up before a night out or just because I feel like it. While engagement is already a special time, Washington Diamond made it even more so with their warm and hospitable nature. I could not be happier with my experience.

Adam Compton: I went to Washington Diamond with just a few pencil sketches and stones from our families, hoping to create my ideal engagement ring. Tom Daube helped me work through the ideas and find the best ring to use as a base, then the in-house team of jewelers made the finishing touches to make it a reality. They were able to beautifully set three stones in a unique ring that my wife adores. I had such a great experience working with Tom that we went back for our wedding bands, too, and he was able to get us exactly what we were looking for. All-in-all, Tom was an absolute pleasure to talk with and was not at all a pushy or aggressive salesman. If I recall correctly, our first appointment consisted solely of discussing my thoughts and him showing me a few possibilities, and I walked out empty-handed to check out a few other shops. I quickly came back to Washington Diamond after realizing they were the best! The rest of the staff is totally professional and courteous, too. I have nothing but great things to say about this place, and will certainly be coming back to shop for our anniversary!

Michael Baer: My experience with Washington Diamond (WD) was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend and I had been researching and shopping for an engagement ring for a few months prior to coming to WD. We set up an appointment together with Tom D. in October 2018 to see some of the stones and settings WD had to offer. Because we had been researching prior to our appointment, we knew much about what to look for in a good diamond (cut angles, proportions, etc.), but Tom did an excellent job explaining in great detail some of the questions we had which the internet had not easily addressed. He explained what standards WD uses when selecting their stones, and they are well within ideal the ideal range. We felt very welcomed, and Tom never pressured or steered us toward a purchase. A couple months later and after deciding on a center stone, I contacted Tom again without my girlfriend. I decided to go back to Tom at WD because I genuinely trusted him and felt that he would help me find the perfect setting. The quality of products and service offered by WD was also at the top of my list for reasons to go back. I had been to several jewelers in the past year, but Tom was the only one who listened and did not rush me at all. Plus he really knows his stuff! After I picked out a few settings on their website that I thought my girlfriend would love, I set up another appointment. Tom’s setting recommendation was the same setting I had in mind! Once again I could tell he had actually listened to me during our interactions. We agreed on a price and finalized the deal that day. A few days later I received a call from Erin stating that the ring was ready for pickup. When I picked it up I was blown away with how beautiful the ring was in person. I knew at once my girlfriend would love and cherish this ring forever, and I will always have Tom to thank for helping me through this process. My girlfriend and I are definitely going back when it is time to purchase our wedding bands. I highly recommend them for all your jewelry needs!

Chrystal Boyd: Today I went to purchase perfume and I walked in and was watched by a little Asian woman I could see in a mirror upon entering so I walked toward her and spoke but she didn’t. I moved on to a gentleman who greeted me and walked me back to this little woman who was rude and didn’t want to assist me. I left because she told me the perfume I was looking for wasn’t in stock but didn’t offer any solution to that.

Kerry Kwok: I visited this location on 4/18th with my friends. One of my friends was thinking purchase a pair diamonds earrings or a diamond ring and a knot ring. An asian young lady came to assist us. I asked her what is the table % of that diamond with 6 pounds setting. She answered their all 3 excellent with GIA. I asked her again, she still didn’t understand. Keep repeating something with GIA. I asked her to show me the diamond report on her work phone and I found it by myself. I explained to her that I’m looking for bigger table size diamond. She was screaming so loud and asked WHY !? Then walked away. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Even though I left Tiffany and Co. for 4 months, but I’m sure they don’t use GIA report for most of the diamonds and their not all 3 excellent. Horrible client experience and product knowledge. My

Elijah Bair: Worst customer service I have ever seen at a Tiffany&Co. My husband and I frequent the store in friendship heights and always get great service, today I was down in city center doing some shopping. I was greeted by a nice greeter who took my name and showed me where to go and someone would be with me shortly. Walked through the store and stood at a case for 10 minutes and not one acknowledgement. But as I’m walking towards the exit I’m asked if I needed help, there were about five people standing around minus the door greeter.

Lee Cox: The store is very beautiful. An incredibly attentive, polite, and extremely proper woman greeted us at the door. She was so great. She took our name and showed us to the engagement rings. They must have gotten very busy at that moment. Someone came to assist us, and then went to finish up with another guest. My day hadnt been the best, so my patience was short. As i began to get upset and prepared to leave, the woman that greeted us came over. She immediately calmed me down, and got us assistance right away. Lonnie came and let my wife try on the ring she had her eyes on, then gave us lots of information. As we exited, the woman who greeted us offered kind words and was so attentive. The prices were unbelievably low for the outstanding quality of the jewelry here. We live nearly an hour away, and there are many jewelers and even some Tiffany stores along the way. For the outstanding job the wonderful woman that welcomed us into the store, im so sorry i didnt get her name. For her, we will return to that store and make our purchase there. Refined, attentive, pleasant as can be, she is truly a rare and exquisite employee.

Joyce Pardee: My husband has been giving me Tiffany silver jewelry for years so I have many pieces though not the high end collections. I was in DC visiting my daughter and she’s in the market for an engagement ring so we went there to look. Upon entering the store however I mentioned first that i had jewelry that needed cleaning before I mentioned diamond ring shopping. I felt the cold shoulder immediately, as if because I wasn’t there to buy then I wasn’t as important. This is not the first store this has happened in over the last fifteen years. Lola Ajayi: Two part story: For Christmas my boyfriend bought me a bracelet from Tiffany’s online but it ended up being a little small, so we decided to go into the Chevy Chase location to exchange it on New Years Day. Before going in, I also had in mind that I might exchange the bracelet for a different bracelet altogether or a necklace. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice woman who told us she would bring a sales associate over to us and one came over pretty quickly. My sales associate’s name was J. Castillo. My issue with our sales associate was that she didn’t seem very warm or inviting. I believe that when it comes to customer service, you have to be overly nice and inviting to make clients feel like you truly care about their needs. Her demeanor pretty much made me feel I should just quickly handle whatever I needed to do and get out of there. When I decided what I wanted, she put in the the pouch and box and did not offer to rewrap the box. We also purchased a coffee table box and she didn’t offer to wrap it either. I personally think that she should have at least offered to rewrap the jewelry and box and wrap the book because that would have been good/usual customer service to me. I just didn’t feel like my business mattered there. My mom bought jewelry, perfumes, and colognes from this location when I was a kid and I remember the service being better. The next day, I go to the City Center location because the necklace I ended up getting wasn’t as long as I would have liked. I didn’t try it on in the Chevy Chase location because my sales associate turned me off. My sales associate at the City Center location was 10x better. Her name was Nathalie and she put different chains on me to help me see what would be best for me. She offered me a place to put my coat. She gave me the option to get a custom length chain if I didn’t like the ones that originally came with the necklace. She was very conversational and helpful. Truly accommodating and sweet. I will be coming back to her again! Nathalie was everything and more that the first sales associate I experienced was not.

They made it so easy and created a stunning custom engagement ring that looks like I paid way more for it than I actually did. Michael Cho: The buying experience was good. The rep did a thorough job of explaining all the different options. The rep we dealt with was very patient and we were happy with the process. The follow up was where we were not so pleased. I had to reach out to get our order delivered on time. The sales rep was nowhere to be found nor could the rep be reached. In the end, we got a very nice piece at a very good price. We will still go back for more business but wish the delivery process was better. We are satisfied with the entire process.

Brenda Falkenstein: Poor customer service and a weird obfuscation of pricing for custom jewelry. I had a stone I wanted set and called to get a price range for a basic 2 carat white gold ring setting and they said I had to make an in person appointment to even get any sort of price range. That's something that shouldn't be in doubt for a professional jeweler. No idea what's going on, whether they don't want new customers or are going for a high pressure sales model, but whatever it is it's not normal for a jeweler. Their website advertises digital meetings, but apparently that's a lie too. Guy on phone was incredibly gruff and smug when I said no thanks. Why would I get anything complex from a place that doesn't even know their own pricing for something any jeweler can do?
Response: There are many different ways to make basic 2 ct white gold ring. So, rather than give a price over the phone without knowing exactly what the customer wants we like to know exactly what the finished product should look like and give accurate pricing. I'm so sorry you felt mistreated. You are correct any jeweler can do something simple. I hope you've found someone you're comfortable working with.

Gretchen Butts: Sergio and Dominion Jewelers would be a 10+ from me! Needing an unplanned repair to a two jeweled diamond ring crafted by them almost 10 years ago, scheduling an appointment with Sergio to review repair choices was easy and convenient. Upon selecting an option, it was finished earlier than expected. Scheduling a pick up day and time was almost next day and the finished product is simply stunning!!! I am so happy with my 'new' ring and the manner in which I interacted with all of the personnel. Their attentiveness to customer appreciation and active COVID 19 management made me feel very 'safe' as well as valued. They set the 'gold' standard for me!

Amy Sonderman: So disappointed with the recent service at Dominion. Pre-pandemic I went in for a consult to upgrade earrings I purchased from there in 2015 and was given a quote for a credit towards an upgrade. Now, finally ready to purchase, I was told that their policy doesn't allow for the style of earrings I purchased to qualify for an upgrade. It wasn't even the policy change, but how the message was delivered by Ryan, their Office Manager. He was rude and curt with me and offered absolutely no alternative solution- or even for me to come in and discuss options. This was a complete change from the service we received in 2015- and disappointing as we were hoping to return to Dominion for all future purchases. I guess Dominion Jewelers is in a position to turn away a large sale- I am sure that other area jewelers would be happy to assist me

I would not go anywhere else. Update: My husband and I just went back to get a matching wedding band made to go with the engagement ring we custom designed 2 years ago. Carley and Dominion not only meet but even exceeded my expectations, which I didn't think was possible. The two rings are perfect together and better than I could have imagined. Ramatoulaye Diop: If I could give them zero star I would. Please do not buy from them online. I found them on Instagram since I live in Dallas, I had to call the number they have there. The communication was tedious. Finally I was able to make my purchase which was shipped to me. Upon arrival, I did not know the bangle was hollow and no instructions or information on how to wear it and not bending it. I wore it and tried to make it fit my wrist and literally it started to bend and had 2 dents. If I was told it was hollow I would be more careful wearing it. They don’t have a refund policy nor warranty! Plus I simply asked them for an exchange and they said no. I am a very honest and truthful person! I would think about it twice before buying from them if I were you! Believe these 1 star ratings. There are better and other places that will respect your hard earned money. I spent $775 on this for nothing! Literally nothing! It’s is not even 10.5 gram they said if you take into account the cz stones! I ended up selling it back for $400 to another local jewelry in dallas. I lost $375 that I will never get back and I am in the middle of preparing for a wedding. I did not need to throw money at the window like that. I hope you Yasini are satisfied with your lack of customer service and lack of compassion. What I damn needed was just an exchange for the same exact one to wear at my wedding! I was within the return policy guidelines and you still said no. You lost a customer for good and I will make sure your store opening in dallas soon won’t get a good review from me!

They are so welcoming and knowledgeable and have a unique selection of jewelry that you can’t find anywhere else in the US. If there is something specific you need that they don’t have, they will go out of their way to order it for you. They have top notch customer service and you don’t need to make an appointment in advance. I highly recommend them for all your jewelry needs!

Azaz Shami: It’s sad that I have to write this review. I had pleasant experience in the past but today was one of the worse purchasing experience of my life. It was Sunday and there were fewer staff than usual so we waited until someone becomes available. We identified the items we would want to buy to help the seller work quicker so we aren’t holding the line. I also had a few things to fix 30+ minutes later, a female staff approached and asked if we were helped. We said no and asked for her help. She started to attend to us and few ministers later another customer cut in and insisted they are served. The staff left us abruptly while holding the hold piece we choose without excusing herself or eating for us to accept. Minutes later another staff comes trying to calm the situation asking the female staff to apologise; she refused and didn’t even bother look our way. I did mention to this that this treatment cannot he seen other than racially charged. We were poorly treated, staff abandoned us multiple times with no explanation. This is really sad and I apologies to good staff with whom I have dealt in the past. But I don’t think I will never set foot in this shop. I prefer to take my business where I’m treated with respect like a human.

They literally force you to do cash transactions if you want to pay with your credit card for cash back reward then they jack up the price 3x. We ordered one custom made jewelry which they suppose to give us within 2 weeks but even after way past 2 weeks they have no idea when they can give our jewelry and being rude. 100% sure if they keep doing business like this one day they will face a lawsuit.

Anna Sumner: My friend found this place in the DCist's Top Thift Stores article. Unfortunately the article was from 2016 so many of the places listed were no more. Fia's was one one of the few exceptions. We pulled up around 3 in the afternoon unaware that the store had switched over to appointment only for in-person shopping. The lady working at the time kindly let us in since there was an hour until the next appointment. Their inventory was fantastic, if a little disorganized. The layout has been converted more to a warehouse than a sales floor. The store is also transitioning into online sales. As things turned out the kind lady who let us in to shop was the owner herself. She explained the appointment-only policy and told us we could text the store number to make future appointments. It felt good to have been able to support a local, black woman-owned shop, especially after going through the list of stores that weren't able to stay open. On the inventory: I found a lot of good pieces in my size which made me very happy. I'm on the curvier side and I'd definitely recommend this place for plus sized fashionistas. I saw very few items for men and children so you might not want to do family shopping here.

Julia Near and Far: Fia's Fabulous Finds had a great selection of cute dresses and footwear. In the basement was $25 for everything you could fit into a bag.

Alex Chapman: I had a lovely visit at Fia's Fabulous Finds today. You have to book a private appointment now to shop and Fia was there herself to describe each room of the store for me. It's a warehouse setup, so you get to move and dive into the racks yourself to find amazing deals. Lots of Kate Spade purses and clothes, with some other brands mixed in. A wide range of sizes too, which is great! 3.3.21: Fia is no longer allowing in-store shopping outside of a once per month opportunity. Check the Facebook page for future updates.

Cassia Morris: My boyfriend and I stopped in Fia’s 2.5 years ago or so to find some items for a costume. I can’t remember the owners name, but she was THE sweetest, nicest, and most helpful!!! We talked about where her son was going to school. We live in Alaska and I still think about our visit here. I hope the owner is well and the shop is doing good!!! Much love.

Eugene Simms: Fia's Fabulous Finds is a phenomenal experience waiting to be discovered! I walked in on a Sunday, and was warmly greeted by associate, Sharon. She told me, to my amazement that Fia's offers sizes 0-3x, a rarity for a consignment shop. They have such great quality clothing, shoes, bags and accessories and at affordable prices. I purchased a silk Escada skirt for $25!! Also, check out their Bargain Basement for some unbelievable deals. A beautiful experience from start to finish.

Clark Flynt-Barr: This place is packed! Lots of good finds - always fun to shop here.

Madeline Desser: This place is such a gem with a great selection of higher end brands. The space is fairly small, but it manages to feel full without feeling overly crowded or messy. There is a separate rack dedicated to plus size clothing which is amazing and rare to find in high end consignment shops. Fia has a great eye for stylish pieces and is super friendly too so don't be shy and check the place out if you want to find some great deals!

Symea Johnson: Stopped by for the “fill a bag for $25” event. I had to control myself because I could of stayed all day and shifted thru all the bins and racks for clothing. Fia was actually present and her and the staff are genuinely good people All positive vibes in the air! Check her out you will not be disappointed 13items including dresses, skirts, purses and jacket all rolled in one bag for $25🎉

Spence: HUGE collection of presidential memorabilia!!! Sold my coins here and used the money to buy my dad an awesome Christmas gift. Fantastic spot to buy one of a kind souvenirs from DC They have presidential posters, buttons, golf balls, watches, medals, coins, and tons of other cool gifts—priced from $5-400 Nelson, the owner, is a lovely gentleman who will help to appraise your coins quickly and fairly. I had a foreign coin worth $25 in silver, up to $120 as is. He gave me $25 and that was fair. But I also had some rare Roman coins and he suggested I take them to a coin show. He also offered to take them there himself and call me the next day with the appraisal. Genuine, knowledgeable, and fair guy. PS it’s inside the P of H GRANGE building, in between the White House history center and the brick building, across the street from Teaism (it’s in the basement, so don’t bother looking for the sign or street number haha)

Ray King: This shop is a unique place! Nelson is going to help you with whatever you need and will also be fair if you are a seller. The place is hard to find but worth the effort. Businesses like this are sadly disappearing. Casey will also make your visit worthwhile! Do not miss the opportunity to visit. You won’t regret it.

Wes Weymers: I was in town for business and had some time to spare. I stopped in at Capitol Coin and had a great experience. Nelson was helpful and was willing to discuss price. A lot of Washington DC memorabilia. I promised to go back and I will next trip to DC. A throwback to the good old days of collecting.

Cliff Eberhardt: The owner is a class act. I have been buying coins from Nelson for over 25 years and he has always been honest, fair and sincere. His knowledge of the industry is unsurpassed by anyone. I wish he would live to be 125 years old. He is quite a guy.

Daniel Spicuzza: Nice shop good customer service. They have everything from rare foreign and domestic coins to old boxes of silver Washington Quarters. Want a few Indian Head pennies for the kids ? They have a giant box. Want a sharp 1 oz American Eagle in protective case? They've got it.

Hidden Numismatist: This is a coin shop, period. You walk into Nelson's shop and you feel you are in 'Toy Land' as a coin collector. Nelson, the Senior Numismatist and Owner is fun to talk to and you learn so much from listening to him. I could talk to Nelson for hours. Awesome shop.

Gordon Cameron: Ordered a coin online that was reasonably priced. Got an order confirmation, shipped quickly with tracking, and well packed. Would do more transactions in the future.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I discovered them while searching the internet to purchase a Breguet 7097. So I did an extensive research on Alan & Furman Co and there was little to nothing bad said about them which told me a lot about there integrity. They were even mentioned in a Forbes article! And so when I called and dealt with Sergio over the phone for a week or so trying to make a decision, his service and knowledge sealed the deal with me. I have purchased luxury watches from all over the country but never have I found such professionalism. iStuffSellers: I had a very displeasing experience with Alan Furman & Co. I specially brought my Rolex in for solely one purpose only. Which was that the second hand was occasionally catching on a slightly bent minute hand. Which they told me that they couldn’t just fix that single problem. They would have to do a compete overhaul on the entire Rolex which would cost me $625. I thought that kind of crazy at first when I just wanted the only issue to be fixed. But as time was of the essence and I didn’t want to keep driving around looking for another rolex dealer to fix it, I relented. Two weeks later I get a call from Darryl. I take it he is a watch technician. He tells me that it’s going to be now $840 to fix the watch. Because the glass on the watch is not a sapphire glass and it’s always good to get a new pin he says. I tell him that I’m not interested in getting a new sapphire glass because the aftermarket glass that’s on it is totally fine. No issue at all and doesn’t hinder the performance of the watch. And I’ll take my chances with the pin that’s in it. It works totally fine except that it catches that minute hand occasionally. I tell him that I just want the initial overhaul and the minute hand straightened out. Which I discussed with Alan when I dropped it off. He said that he would look into it and get back to me. I get a call a week later by Darryl again. I’m thinking my watch is all done and I was ready to head on over and pick it up. He starts up with the exact same conversation we had last week with out any recollection of the previous conversation a week earlier. About it will need a sapphire glass and having a new pin is beneficial. Comical to be having the same exact conversation with the same person. A little frustrated at this point. I just tell him that I would just come by and pick it up. So I picked it up 3 weeks later with nothing done. Total waste of my time. My only take away was if there wasn’t any sort of overpriced price hikes they wouldn’t fix my watch. Not to mention the sloppiness. All I wanted was one simple issue corrected. But unless I agreed to all the extra charges they wouldn’t do it. They have obviously stepped out of the realm of helping people fix there watches to looking at everyone as a pay check. Unethical and egregious behavior. Take your watch someplace else!
Response: I’m very sorry that you were unhappy with your experience with us. We strive to make every customer satisfied and hope to have each one return again and again. I will try to explain what happened from our perspective, in hopes of a better understanding. When you came in to the store with your watch, you were given a preliminary estimate and told the watchmaker still needed to look at the watch for a final evaluation of repair and cost. Your watch was found to have many custom (non-factory) parts on it. This changed the way that he would be able to make the repair to the stuck hands. Due to the aftermarket parts on your watch, the watchmaker also needed time to check on what parts he would need to fix the specific watch you have. See below: WATCHMAKER DETAILED ASSESSMENT OF REQUIRED SERVICE – “This has been converted from plastic crystal to sapphire. We have a dual curve sapphire conversion crystal that would fix some of the exposed gasket and the crystal sitting so far above the bezel. The hands are very high, the dial is also higher than original, not just the pearl but the metal itself. The hour and minute hands are also aftermarket. It would be better to cut them to make short style hands. Sorry, we cannot do a partial repair on your watch and not have the watch working properly when it would leave our repair dept. If the aftermarket parts are not the correct fit or wrong style for the model the part will need to be replaced to have the watch function.” As was communicated to you, the job could not be done properly without making the repairs/replacements that the watchmaker recommended. I am sorry if there was some misunderstanding, but this is absolutely a quality control issue from our repair department and I stand behind our customer service, as I have for more than 30 years. Reanna Rousseau: I have to say very disrespectful management at this location. The staff was lovely and helpful but the short light skin women manager with the face piercings, with her mask underneath her nose gave me the worst experience I have ever had at goodwill. Her regional needs to have her replaced ASAP. You can’t make your own rules at your store that’s not in policy. You can get fired for things like that and she must be reported. This is a store where they take free items and mark them up for “Goodwill” to sell to the people in the community who can’t afford the regular priced items. If you are over pricing the item you are basically doing a disservice to the community.

Lea Sumlin: On. April 30. A beautiful morning. I decided to donate things, I don't need. My family and I went to the South Dakota location. When we got there, a light skin colored girl with glasses as the manager was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL We did not get a Good Morning. She WAS VERY UNPLEASANT with her Approach. "We're not open yet, did you hear me and we line up over here. I never opened my mouth but after her unprofessional way of speaking. I ask, " do you WORK here. "Am the manager". She is NOT MANAGER PROFESSIONAL. We left. I Googled Salvation Army on Kenilworth Ave. They were open and VERY PROFESSIONAL AS WELL. THANKS SALVATION ARMY. We were very happy when we got there and after we left.💯❤️❤️❤️.

Zh Ie: Purchased online from this location. The staff was amazing on checking the condition of the item after purchase, and as an added service on their end, they sent a few extra close-ups even after I had purchased, which was not necessary, but so appreciated that they thought to do that. Above and beyond service, and extremely customer-service oriented.

Andrew Patricio: Bizarre. Don't bother going here to donate anything except kitchen stuff or toys, (except baby toys they won't take). On the website it says they take clothes, furniture, etc and they used to but no longer for some reason. Any even toys they won't take anything "a baby can sit in". Ie no bounce toys, push bike etc. Wasted my time twice in a row. Never again. Just go down the road to salvation army or even better, the value village thrift store.

Kim Barr: I found some lovely things there the staff was very helpful and definitely check out the colors of the week sales. I was able to get a 15.99 suit for 3.99 because of the colors of the week sale.

Team World: Caĺled them numerous times over several weeks for pick up of lots of veey good clothes and furniture. I am leaving the country. They never called back.- couldnt be bothered apparently. SHAME on you, Goodwilll, aren't you supposed to serve the disenfranchised????

Janice Burrell: Called and asked if they accept books. The guy told me they did. When I got there the guy told me they were at their capacity for books. It was more like he didn't want to do the work to check them in. Every time I go there it is always a problem. They should tell you these things when you call. Since they don't I can only conclude that it's just a lazy employee. Extremely poor customer service.

solomon asefaw: I am writing this review to let Goodwill undermines its gools when it doesn't follow up its workers at the receiving and dropping gate of this location. Today at around 3:35pm when I came to donate, I was harassed by one Of the stuff at the gate. Goodwill should place professional stuff at the dropp of gate before it too late.

Franklin Owens III: I was there for clothing… but I can never pick out clothing in a thrift store, so I left with books. The store was well organized though. I tend to be a bit uncomfortable buying items out of thrift stores. I didn’t care much for the clothes. But there were other items in the home section were really nice. Everyone was nice in the thrift store. Even when I gathered a cart full of books and then realized I couldn’t use my clothing voucher on books😬😅

bluslushii: Been to multiple Goodwills, the staff was by far the most helpful and I honestly received the best customer service I did at any business. Definitely will be returning! Thank you so much ladies for being so kind and helpful!
