Georgetown Alterations Ms.Lee LLC: what do users think?

Candice Barbara: I am so thankful for Ms. Lee and her alterations. I had two weddings back to back and the dresses were entirely too big. She fixed both dresses in a short time frame and made sure I felt comfortable. She was kind and understanding which made me feel better about the crazy double wedding weekend I had. I plan to come here from now on!Service: Alterations

Samuel Johnson: Top notch service! Great sense of humor. Got in before she closed Friday, picked up at opening next day. She also made suggestions to make my tux fit better! Highly recommended.Service: Alterations

Alana Duran: Ms. Lee had my suit for a wedding I was attending all done and perfect days before I actually needed it. The fit was nice nice, she knew exactly what areas need to be taken in and by how much. She knew how to make it look flattering on me. Most of all the pants and blazer only cost me $100 and she did a lot to make it fit. Definitely a fair price. She’s funny, lively and a real pro. Don’t forget to tip!

Riley E: Had two dresses, a pair of pants, and a sweater altered/repaired and the results are amazing. The turnaround time was also very fast. The prices were worth it and the clothes all fit perfectly now. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Monique Marie: Ms. Lee altered a dress for me in 24 hours for a photo shoot I had the next day. She is the best, quick and efficient and I’ll definitely be back.Service: Alterations

HAL Deiri: Brought in a pair of Zanella dress pants and she did a great job on the length alternations! Also, she is extremely friendly so that makes it more enjoyable to stop by

Cheryl Lofton & Associates Inc.: what do users think?

Becky Giallella: Cheryl and her team did an amazing job on my wedding dress! I had my mom’s wedding dress from the 80s that I wanted to incorporate into my dress. They came up with an amazing design, and created a flawless and sentimental piece. They were so friendly and accommodating, highly recommend! They also did an amazing job altering my husbands suit. He was so happy with it! Services: Design , Alterations

La Voyageuse B: As the mother of the bride, I needed a beaded gown shortened by the next day. It was ready by 10 am the next day. It was perfect and surpassed expectations. Thanks to Ms Lofton and her highly skilled staff I was the Belle of the Ball with the exception of my beautiful daughter the Bride

Daniel Becker: The service here is amazing! Cheryl tailored my wedding tuxedo and did a great job. However, on my wedding day, as I was putting on the pants, one of the seams ripped (not their fault, but at the same time it wasn’t good since my wedding was starting about 3 hours later). I called the store thinking there’s no chance they’d be able to fix my pants on such short notice. Sure enough, Cheryl had two of her tailors hop in an Uber to the hotel where I was getting ready! They showed up about 15 minutes later and fixed my pants, and I was good to go for the wedding. They really went above and beyond what I would expect a business to do, and pretty much saved the day! Service: Alterations

Armetria Misha': The absolute best tailoring shop EVER. From my gala dress as a teen, my wedding dress as an adult, my wardrobe, to repurposes my clothing when I lost weight, and now my robe as an ordained minister. Hands down my closet isn’t a closet without Cheryl Lofton & Associates!!!!

Emily Dodson: I came here in dire need of hemming and bringing in a bridesmaid dress that was 1-2 sizes too big for me, Cheryl and her team did an amazing job and were open to my questions and were rapid in their work. Couldn’t recommend more!

Shawnna Mullenax: My experience with Cheryl Lofton & Associates could not have been better. High quality and fair pricing. Ali did a wonderful job tailoring my maid of honor dress. Although it was ordered to size, it was too big when it arrived. Ali tailored the top and took several inches off of the bottom. He did such a great job that I also had him tailor my own dress for my upcoming wedding.

Joe Krisch: I purchased a suit from an online retailer for my wedding and, despite my best efforts to take accurate measurements, it arrived fairly ill-fitting. Cheryl A Lofton & Associates did a fantastic job making the necessary adjustments and were extremely communicative with me every step of the way. The turn-around time was very fast and the suit looks absolutely fantastic. To anyone out there needing adjustments on their suits, even for very special occasions, I would highly recommend Cheryl A Lofton & Associates. Service: Alterations

J C Lofton Tailors: what do users think?

Lyssa McEachern: I needed a dress tailored here within 2 weeks for a wedding and they did not let me down! Friendly people and great pricing for the beautiful work you get!

Mark Koenig: Great people and incredibly talented! Quick turn around for a well tailored suit at a reasonable price. I get compliments each time I wear it, so you know it was done right! Thank you!

Iman Shabazz: One of the finest Professional Taylors in WDC. We have taken our things here for years! Expedient work.and very detailed in their efforts. Thanks Iman @ Les Fleur Studio

Nafeesah Attah: I’ve been coming here since I moved to DC in 2018 and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. I’ve taken high end suits to dresses to them and they’ve always done an amazing job. They are high quality and can be trusted with your garments, but work really quickly! Sometimes my alternations are ready same day. To top it all off everyone in the shop is extremely friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this business to anyone. Looking forward to bringing more items to them! Service: Alterations

Jared Mingo: My man has 45 years of experience as a tailor. He and his team will execute all of tailoring needs with expertise and then some, all at a very affordable price with haste to match. If you have a rush order it will completed on time.

KeKe's Kidz: No complaints here. Mr. Lofton altered a suit for my 3 year old. Lets just say my vision was executed to a tee. And my son was the talk of the ball. Proud to work with Mr. Lofton and look forward to many more suits in my sons future. #1stsuitcustomefit

Samuel Mather: Went because it’s the best-reviewed tailor shop in the area, and now I’m just confused. I tried to get a suit altered to accommodate pandemic weight. The staff was consistently rude. I was surprised they only had me try on the suit and didn’t take any measurements, but figured they’re the experts. Same rudeness when I picked it up. They did an ok job with the jacket but the pants aren’t even close to fitting. In fairness they said they’d let the pants out as much they could but it might not be enough - but isn’t that the kind of thing where measurements would be useful to have? I don’t really know what normal prices are for alterations. What they charged is about consistent with what Charles Tyrwhitt charges for in-house alterations, but, you know, less helpful, slower and less reliable. They did return the suit in good condition, except for a new, unpleasant odor.

Marshall (MRJ56): If you ever need anything altered J C Lofton Tailors is the place to go. This is the only place I go for any kind of alterations. After I purchase my suits I take them here for alterations. The service is always top notch.

Best Fit Tailoring: what do users think?

Amanda Fayer: Terrible! Disappointed is an understatement. I was shocked at how badly the alterations on this gown came out. I could have done this better intoxicated in the dark. Ended up getting some $ back (I was charged $169 for this and basic hemming) but that was after the seamstress told me she shouldn’t have told me she could alter my dress and it was my fault for bringing it in. I was sooo glad to find a nice good tailor in the neighborhood. This is NOT it.

Olivia Hinch: Selenge is an excellent seamstress whose work always impresses me. I have had multiple dresses, skirts and pants taken in by her and it has always been done to perfection, even pants that were at least 2 sizes too large. I’m glad to have her in my neighborhood.

Isabel Scher: I had such an amazing experience! Selenge went above and beyond helping me think through the best way to tailor the dress. She even brought one of her own fabrics to help adjust a detail across the top! Very grateful for her help, would highly recommend!

Ryan MacLeod: Selenge is a great tailor and such a friendly person! Highly recommend

Jamie Lee: Needed two dresses shortened and am so glad I went here! One was quite complicated due to embroidery at the bottom...I was willing to sacrifice the design, but she offered to shorten it from the waist instead. Very glad she did...it turned out beautifully. I’m so appreciative for her skills and am glad after several years I’ve finally found a reliable tailor in DC!

Scogna Custom Tailor and Formal Wear: what do users think?

Nicole Busse: This place is old-school legit. I brought in a women’s “smoking” tuxedo to have the pants hemmed, and Mr Dil noticed all kinds of fit issues that he should fix - even pointed out that one of my shoulders was slightly higher than the other (!) and redid the jacket sleeves to adjust for that. The tailored suit fits me like a glove. So happy to have found this place! Mr Dil is a true master. Don’t take your alterations anywhere else!

Christina Brown: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMr. Dil is a great tailor! He has done an incredible job on a number of dresses and blouses I brought to him. He is very professional, fast and meticulous in his work. He’s also done a few same day alterations. Happy to support his business. Thank you!Service: Alterations

Grant Falk: The Master Tailor, Dil, is amazing at his craft. He has made bespoke suits for numerous presidents, politicians, journalists, and TV hosts, so naturally his talent stretches far and wide. I highly recommend going to see Dil and can promise that you will not regret it.

John Conafay: What incredible service! I called five other shops and all turned me down for a same day tux rental. Mr. Dil not only said yes, but turned it around in ONE HOUR! Perfect fit! Will always come back here for my tailoring needs.

Shelby Sires: Mr. Dil is simply the best! I went in with not one, but two dresses that I needed altered in a quick turnaround. He asked me my deadline and was able to work over time to complete it before my requested timeline. Mr. Dil is a tailor fit for the President and that’s why he works on the presidents custom tailor jobs. If you’re reading this, use Mr. Dil. Service: Alterations

Do's Custom Tailors & Formal Wear: what do users think?

Zinisaurus: Positive: ProfessionalismWhat a fantastic experience! Everyone I interacted with at Do’s tailors was kind & professional, not to mention their quality of craftsmanship was impeccable.

Cassady Wallish: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueDo is amazing!! He has been so helpful - we don’t live in DC and Do has been so responsive with my fiancé’s suit for our wedding. I highly recommend this business for any alterations or wedding tux’s.Service: Alterations

Arya Harsono: Mr. Do does a fantastic job! I ordered a custom suit at a reasonable price and it was ready in 4 weeks. Mr. Do is knowledgeable and accommodating - he is clearly passionate about his craft!

Paul Drumond: Price is extremely high for quality of work. I had one pant leg drop it’s hem in the middle of the work day. When I looked inside, it looked like it has been glued down! Looks they forgot to go back and sew the hem together. For these prices, I would have expected far better. A bit disappointed to say the least.

W Monahan: Since 2003, Dien Do has been the only tailor I use, even when I moved several states away for a few years. If for you, tailoring is simply a commodity service, then anyone will do. For the more discerning, there is no better tailor or value South of NYC than Mr. Do.

Madeline Jetzer: Needed a wool coat drastically taken in and he did a wonderful job, and cheaper than other places I got quoted at. Very happy with the service

Scott Cooper: THE best tailor in DC- yes pricey, but worth the high quality of service. I’ve been a customer for over ten years, and highly satisfied.

Larry Goldman: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessThis tailor provides excellent service. I’ve had several suits and other garments altered by him. I have never been disappointed. He understands the quality and cut of the clothing, and I’m always pleased with the results.Service: Alterations

John Swain: Can only speak for tailoring of suit pants. They were nice enough to do a rush job for me when I had to get to a funeral back in my home town. They completed the work and the pants were ready to pick up by the agreed upon time on the following day. Customer service was fantastic. Offered very professional advice and the cost was reasonable. I will be back for some tailoring of my suit jacket as well.

Seihyun: Professional and courteous from the moment one walks in, the head tailor of the shop shows his expertise by listening carefully to the clients’ specifications and executing his craft seamlessly onto each article of clothing. I’ve been to many tailor shops and have been let down just as many times. This place is different. If you’re looking to get any reductions done your clothing look no further. I brought in 5 articles of clothing and after the alterations were done left with zero complaints. Truly a master at his craft.

Jason Huberman: Positive: Professionalism, QualityGreat alterations on my suit, it fits and looks great! Very helpful and knowledgeable.Service: Alterations

ottiviani morris: The best tailored shirts I have ever owned. His suits are incredible and a work of art.

Evan Klondar: Superb quality tailor. Does impeccable work and would highly recommend; has tailored jackets and pants for me.

Elim Boutique and Rosslyn Tailoring: what do users think?

Nevaeh Peoples: Loved the service. Tailored my prom dress very well. I needed my dress fitted to my waist and she exceeded my expectations. I LOVE MY DRESS. Definitely would recommend!Service: Alterations

Jocelyn Hunt: I highly recommend Elim Boutique for alterations and tailoring! I was in a real pinch (just 4 days before my wedding) and my dress still wasn’t fitting quite right. I took my dress to this company and they had it for me the day before my wedding. It was a perfect fit. Thanks to this alteration, I was able to enjoy my wedding without the stress of trying to find a new dress just days in advance. I will always be grateful to this company for making one of the most important celebrations in life so special. Many thanks!!!! Service: Alterations

Rosie_reselling: I needed to have a bridesmaids dress hemmed and taken in at the bust for a wedding. Elim boutique was very professional and the dress fits me perfectly! They matched the thread to the fabric exactly, and everything fit just how I wanted it to after the alterations. The dress was finished exactly when they said it would be. I could not have had a better experience! Highly recommend! Service: Alterations

Marissa Bockeno: Hands down some of the best work I have had done. I took my birthday blazer here that has over a thousand beads and pearls on it. I needed a lot of work done to it because I bought it too big. I got the sleeves shortened, back taken in and an extra clamp added to the front. The turn around time was relatively quick. A bit pricey but if you have something you value or really need done the right way then it’s worth the extra cost. I would highly recommend bringing it here! Plus the woman who owns the place is really nice! Service: Alterations

Sally Englander: The staff at Elim botique are lovely. We’ve been going there for years and they know us by first name. My husband is very picky about how is work pants are hemmed and they are fantastic. He doesn’t trust anyone else to alter his clothes. A button came off my jeans and they put it back on for free. They heard I’m a teacher and they gave me free masks. They are just nice people. Support their business!

Emily Anne: I purchased my wedding dress on Amazon and it needed some alterations. I went from liking the dress to loving the dress after the alterations. I wanted the crinoline removed and then it needed to be shortened. Elm Boutique was able to satisfy my needs for the dress. I walked away with a wedding gown that fit wonderfully and many were surprised it came from Amazon. Service: Alterations

Thomas Schiffer: We had a less-than-24-hours turnaround request to alter our daughter’s flower girl dress before departing for a flight to a wedding, and they absolutely delivered. For future alteration needs, this is our go-to place! The woman we worked with was extremely charming and accommodating- great customer service.Service: Alterations

Sophia Lipovsky: Cannot recommend enough. Unparalleled workmanship, done quickly and for a very fair price. I had both corduroy pants and a work dress a size too large reworked, which included moving a waist trim and layers of dress lining. They both look fantastic!!! Look no further if you need tailoring!

Stephen the Tailor: what do users think?

Benyam Ephrem: Went in to get 3 jeans tailored for waist resizing after recent weight loss. Never had a pair of jeans fit me perfectly in my life (I have an “athletic build” in lowerbody). They came back and fit perfectly. Affordable pricing, friendly staff. Well worth it. Highly recommend.

Cat Shrier (WaterCitizen): Wonderful business! When I lost a button on my skirt, Stephen made sure I was taken care of right away and could keep my modesty intact - while also taking good care of his staff! Thank you!Service: General repairs

G Matt: There might be no one better. Absolutely professional and friendly. Precise. Ultra knowledgeable. Dedicated - you can see and will know their passion - it is obvious. Masters at their art.

Екатерина Шенгелия: Gave them pants to hem which they forgot to hem initially. But ok the time they forgot I didn’t pay for what they forgot to do so it’s ok. Gave them pants again after and paid to get them shortened. Told me they’ll call me back in a week. Didn’t contact or message me for three weeks. Finally I come and pick them up, bring the pants home, and what do you know they trimmed it UNEVENLY. Three weeks and 15 dollars to get unevenly hemmed pants and because they didn’t call me, I got these pants back last minute right before the holidays when I needed them. Won’t be using this service again.

Olivia: Positive: Professionalism, ResponsivenessI needed a bridesmaid dress altered with very short notice. Stephen was very responsive and forthright about recommended alterations. The shop is in the Western Market.Service: Alterations

Jennifer C. Hooper: UPDATE: I took the dress to a tailor in London, UK and they fixed the bust of my dress in 3 hours and changed me less than $30. I repeat, don’t bring your clothes here. Huge ripoff. If you’re thinking about altering your clothes here, I’d look elsewhere. I took a long evening dress to get altered, specifically around the bust (too big) and the length (too long). When ‘Stephen’ was done with the measurements, he informed me that it would be $110 to make the alterations, as it would be intricate work to fix the bust. I thought this was quite high, but as this is DC, I thought maybe it was normal. He told me it would take two weeks to get this done (seemed like a LONG time), and I mentioned it was cutting it close as I needed the dress in two weeks time. He said he would call when it was done. Two days before I needed the dress, I called and there was no answer. I kept calling and finally someone answered the day I needed to leave. He had me waiting on the phone for a while as he ‘couldn’t find the dress’. He finally finds it and says it’s ‘ready’. I pick up the dress (he basically pushed me out the door when I picked it up) but didn’t have time to try it on as I needed to finish packing as I was leaving that night for the UK. If I had not called, I don’t think they ever would have called me, and I know why... I try on the dress and it’s an actual disaster. I don’t think ‘Stephen’ did ANYTHING to fix the bust. It fit EXACTLY the same as when I first tried it on. He charged me $110 for absolutely nothing. He fixed the length, and that’s it. Even if I had tried the dress on in DC, it still would have been a disaster as there would have been no time to fix the dress before my trip. I now have to buy a new dress for this wedding. Do NOT bring your clothing to this establishment. They are dishonest and will take your money to basically do nothing. You’ve been warned.

Master Tailors of Georgetown: what do users think?

Colin Carmello: Waheid is great! I had forgotten that I ordered a second pair of pants for my last suit, which he had called me about a long time ago, and when I walked in today, he remembered it within moments, without even going over my name. He has a lot of fabric patterns to work with and produces good quality suits.

Charlotte C.: I’m extremely happy with the work they have done on everything I have had tailored here, including a very expensive dress that required complicated sewing to have it taken in at the waist. I would trust him with even my nicest clothes, and that’s certainly not something I have ever been able to say before. The quality of the tailoring is top. If you don’t want to worry that your clothes might get ruined (something that has happened to me many times, even with tailors with great ratings and reviews) then the prices are well worth it. Service: Alterations

Joseph Scheidler: I had a great first (edit: and second and third) experience with Waheid. I had a French cuff shirt taken in and sleeves shortened, same for a suit jacket and pants. All were well done. In addition, with the pants I had just thought about shortening them but Waheid was able to make them fit me much better throughout the entire leg. Found my tailor

H.L.L.: Really understand how a garment should fit.Service: Alterations

Andrew Okuyiga: I needed alterations for a tuxedo on a short timeline and they did a great job. They were patient and listened to my preferences. Highly recommend

omid noory: What an amazing place... I toke my suit to them to size for a next day wedding and he got it done for me the same day... I highly recommend Master Tailors of Georgetown

David Miller: They were great and fast. They were a day behind but I had alot of alterations that needed to be done. Friendly and courteous.

Linea Pitti Custom Tailoring: what do users think?

Sara Estep: I brought in a pair of vintage Levi’s I’d purchased online without knowing my sizing that were about 2 sizes too big. I didn’t want to put visible darts in them for cheap which you can have done at any laundromat. I wanted someone who would fully seam rip them and cut them to size, while maintaining the intended vintage fit. Yes, this is more pricy, but it also takes a lot more time and skill and they did a superb job. It was worth every penny for the work they put into these. I also had a dress taken in and it fits perfectly. Highly recommend. Service: Alterations

Jimmy Bernot: Excellent work from a very experienced tailor. Did a fantastic job on my suits. You get what you pay for here -- high quality, professional work. I learned a lot about suits by asking questions and learning from his 40+ years of experience as a tailor. Happy to have a regular tailor now that who will give recommendations and consultations on garments.

Justin Swain: Ihsan Dura, owner and master tailor, is an old world craft person his work and that of his tailors is excellent. I observe that both for my clothes and other clients in the shop at times of my visits are very well made or altered. Ihsan and the tailors working with him can actually create a well fitting custom made suit and other garments. I encourage customers use the claim/work ticket ID and place their evaluation of services via Google.

Kate Geder: Do not ever use this company. They removed the bodice from a dress that I took there to be shortened and put the bodice back on the dress 90 degrees off from the skirt. To make matters worse, they cut into the side of the dress to attach a zipper creating a new seam.

Express Alterations: what do users think?

Victoria Robitaille: really sad to give a bad review but I brought a pair of shorts (~ $130) here to be taken in at the waist and they were completely ruined. I think they just cut a triangular shape out of the back and stitched it together which has resulted in the back pockets practically touching at the middle seam, the waist is still not snug, and a very strange fit through the legs. I paid $30 for alterations on these already expensive shorts. I’ve wasted approximately $160 since these are unwearable. I’m really disappointed.

Daniel Sweeney: Had a pretty big emergency before a photo shoot and needed some clothing steamed and fixed up within about 1.5 hours. While space may be limited, they worked fast and effectively. Everything came out looking great and was back to us within 1 hour. We really appreciated the quick service and goof quality of the work they did on our clothing.

Garrett Cottingham: I called this store to ask if they could do a same-day turnaround to fix broken tailoring on a pair of pants. I was able to get 5 seconds into my question before "Ms Anna" cut me off and said "I am here every day. Goodbye". She would not answer the phone when I tried to call her back. What a lousy excuse for customer service.

Justyn Hintze: Absolutely amazing tailor experience!!! I will never take my alteration elsewhere.

Kyong's Cleaner and Alterations: what do users think?

Gautier Ferran: Don’t go there! One of my worst local service experiences. I dropped two pairs of shoes to get the soles glued. I had to go back there three times to get my shoes back and only one pair was fixed. First time, shoes were no ready on pick up date indicated. Second time, they had simply given my shoes to another client! They also pretended that I had kept a shoe with me which was wrong - they had it but couldn’t find it since the shop is completely unorganized. They finally were able to get my shoes back but they’re super unprofessional and careless people. They also never keep you posted - you’re the one who have to call. My advice: don’t go there if you want to have your items back!

Samuel Marcus: Lost the pants to a suit I had cleaned and insisted that I had, and this is for real, the pants in my apartment. The owners are not only unkind, but also untrustworthy, and one of them threatened violence against me when I became firm regarding the need for him to reimburse me. I have made no progress in getting my clothes back, and the owners appear to have no interest in making said progress.

Sarah Mehrotra: So kind and always do a wonderful job!

Lauren Syring: Best In DC! Kind and personal service. Have been to many other dry cleaners and no other spot compares.

Sean Marrett: Good work and incredibly friendly service. Reliable cleaning. Alterations that have made a difference to my family and look good. We are big fans.

Sarah OMalley: Store was open, I walked in, no one was at the counter (which was fine). I said hello and waited. Said hello again, waited several minutes. No one ever showed up, though I heard movement and rustling, so I left. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tailoring by Esmeralda: what do users think?

Barbara Colberg: I recently had some dress pants altered by Esmeralda (shortened leg length; new hem). I found her business after searching for a tailor on Yelp and was impressed by the raving reviews and by the option for in-home sizing appointments. I decided to have the sizing done in her store, which is very conveniently located in Old Town Alexandria. There was plenty of nearby street parking when I went at 10:00 on a Wednesday and I parked on the next block (I believe the street parking was free). The interior of the shop is bright and clean. She quickly took and marked the measurements on the pants and told me that the pants could be delivered to my home on Saturday morning. Her delivery person dropped the pants off around 9:30 am on Saturday. The length of the pants is now perfect. I was impressed by the quality of the work, the quick turnaround time, the great customer service, the ease of booking an appointment, and the cost ($20). I would absolutely go to Esmeralda for any other tailoring or alteration needs and I highly recommend her. Service: Alterations

Rebekah Mann: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueEsmeralda is fantastic! Not only is she super sweet but also she did such amazing work on my gown. She offered such helpful suggestions and really took into consideration all my needs for the dress. I highly recommend and am so happy I found the perfect tailor!Service: Alterations

Hailey Lane: Good considering the short notice. Had the same bridesmaid dresses for two different weddings (in different colors) tailored at 2 different tailors. This one was $30 cheaper, but the other one definitely fit better. So just a matter of weighing what is more important.

John Bergin: I had an amazing experience with Esmeralda; I am never going to another tailor again. The prices were very reasonable, she was responsive with a quick turnaround, and the tailoring was of tremendous quality. Within seconds of looking at my garment she knew exactly what I wanted done, and the ease of being able to do it all in my own home was great especially nowadays. Service: Alterations

Aubriana Wolferts: Truly could not recommend Esmeralda enough. First of all, her prices are very reasonable. I have been shocked by what some people charge to hem a dress here. She was so kind, professional, efficient, and the home fitting was extremely convenient. She was able to tailor my bridesmaid dress for a wedding on a relatively short timeline. The work was done immaculately and for less money than I was anticipating (she was honest about the second layer not needing to be hemmed even though I expected to be charged for it!!). Also, when my dress was dropped off she included a sewing kit and lint roller, which was the sweetest touch. So pleased!!! Service: Alterations

BeFitted Tailoring Co.: what do users think?

Michelle Orozco: Diane and Michelle were an absolute delight to work with. For some context, it took me a long time to decide on a dress for my wedding. I finally bought this dress online because I was running out of time and I had lukewarm feelings about it. I just needed something to wear! At my first fitting, Diane and Michelle made me feel confident in my dress. They were so kind, patient and reassured me when I was feeling down and defeated about my choice. They listened to all my concerns and made their own suggestions. I knew I was leaving my dress in good hands! My dress needed to be hemmed, taken in at the hips, have cups added as well as a beautiful bustle that was easy to use. They also readjusted some of the appliqué on the sleeves that stuck out too much for my taste. I had two fittings in total. Diane and Michelle provide a premium service and deliver premium quality. If I ever need alterations for a formal dress, I am coming back here!

Rachel Lamar: I had a great experience with BeFitted. My dress and alterations came out perfectly. I had scheduled super early due to covid and I had never even been to the shop or area. I was welcomed in and my dress fit perfectly. They were very responsive and I had requested another appointment due to losing weight and they quickly accommodated my request. I highly recommend! Thank you! Service: Alterations

Chantal Girard: Absolutely wonderful service and beautiful work! Having a very simple dress, I wasn’t sure what it needed prior to my wedding day, but these women knew exactly what I needed! They were supportive of the vision I had and helped make my dress fit my shape and my personality perfectly. They also sent me with a wedding day “game plan” packet to help us with the bustle on the day and with information on caring for my gown. Would absolutely recommend to any bride! Andrew Evans: This place is amazing, they recently just came under new management and man they change everything. I came in and was helped by a man named Luke. I had an idea to make one shirt out of three shirts, he saw my vision from the start, and was equally as excited as I was to see the finished product. I loved my experience with Lucas tailor and cleaning def recommend to all.

Anytime Alterations: what do users think?

Shameka Williams: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueThey are LIFESAVERS. I had a major wedding emergency. I dropped my dress off on a Friday and she had my dress ready in less than a week for my wedding. I was amazed by the customer service and quality of the work. I have finally found someone to fix all my clothes. I would highly recommend them.Service: Alterations

Grace Manno: I am so grateful I found Anytime Alterations for my wedding dress! I was panicking because my bridal shop didn’t have any appointments, so I was recommended here & could not be happier. I really wanted to add sleeves to my dress, and I called multiple places that said they could not do it. Maria did not even hesitate when I told her about my vision for my dress and she made it happen more beautifully than I imagined! I got so many compliments about the sleeves specifically on my wedding day. All the alterations were perfect and timely! I needed my dress ready earlier than anticipated and she was able to get it ready for me on time.

Sandy Piper: My dress looked amazing. I wish we took before and after pictures to really capture the work done because my dress looks like it came from the designer ready-to-wear. I planned a wedding in two months and had to get an off-the-rack dress. My dress was two sizes too big and had sleeves. Maria took the dress apart, made it fit, and specialized it, so now my dress is an exclusive <3! Service: Alterations

R Hussain: Seems like more of a wedding dress type place. I took in two pairs of pants and a casual top, and prices were very high for the work. There is no price list, so I think prices also went up $10 when I walked in…. I don’t love that method of doing business, but I understand it has its place. I ended up going elsewhere after doing a round of fittings. Seems like it would be a good place for a wedding dress, just not sure I just wouldn’t take other items there.

Zania Del Villar: Maria really pulled through, my husband needed two slacks hemmed, one that he needed for a wedding the next day. Sure enough she was able to help us out at the last minute, truly a life saver!

Mimi Nguyen: I brought a few fabrics to make 2 custom pieces and had a wonderful experience working with Maria. Very professional and worked with me to design what I wanted and I got lots of compliments on the pieces. They get super busy with wedding season so make sure to drop off with time to spare!

anne Lessin: Over the summer my daughter worked with Maria to have her wedding dress altered. The shop was safe and accommodating to the circumstances due to the virus. Maria is kind and works fast. The alterations were coming along nicely. My daughter picked the dress up a few days before the wedding and was told by Maria not to open it until the wedding day. On the big day she put on the dress and sadly there was a small hole in the front which Maria had said would be sewn and taken care of. Thankfully this hole was hardly visible when worn. Her bouquet hid it completely. The day was wonderful. We spent a great deal for the alterations and were not pleased to find the dress unfinished.

Stephanie Bonadies: Maria altered my allover lace wedding gown to perfection. The bust was taken in, the delicate train hemmed only on the sides, and a bustle was added. She also created my veil for me, and took in my rehearsal dinner jumpsuit. Maria is highly skilled, professional, fairly priced, and fun to work with! I received so many complements on my wedding day and thanks to Maria my gown looked like it was made just for me. I highly recommend Anytime Alterations and will absolutely be going back to in the future!

Niesha Okoh: I’ve gone to Anytime Alterations twice now to fix/edit a few clothing items. She does an amazing job and getting the perfect fit. You can go in with an idea of how you want the item to be done and she will make it happen no matter how difficult the task. For instance, I took in a skirt that had a broken zipper and was too tight. She was able to not only repair the zipper but she expanded the skirt using fabric from the skirt. As a newcomer to the DC area, I’m glad I was able to find a seamstress who’s affordable, knowledgeable and as handy as she is!! I highly recommend this shop!

Georgetown Cleaners & Tailors: what do users think?

David Lysenko: Absolute mess of a cleaners. I gave them my $180 comforter to dry clean and when they gave it back it had shrunk by 6 inches in one direction and 8 inches in the other. Now I have to buy a new one since the comforter is shorter than my body. They also shrunk one of my dress shirts. I tried to at least get my $30 back that they charged me for the cleaning, but they refused. I have no idea how they are still in businesses when they shrink your clothes and treat their customers like garbage. DO NOT GO HERE. There is another dry cleaner a block away. Just go there instead.

M Moore: Great on shirts well priced and fast
