St Albans Church-Opportunity Shop: what do users think?

m rivera: It's a cute little thrift store with variety of things. I really enjoy going here because of the unique things you can find at a reasonable price. I bought two luluroe dresses for 20 bucks. The people who work there are volunteers and are super helpful and friendly. I recommend this spot to donate gently used clothes and housewares. Also, I recommend this spot for shopping with a budget and in a quest to find one of kind things.

BFoz: I'd stay away. Purchased a pair of shoes here, which fell apart after about two weeks. Sure, they were only $4, but still. Then, I went back the other day to purchase some clothing, but they decide to stay closed until after Labor Day. How convenient. Churches are in a position to lead on spiritual matters, not do things like this. Maybe try Goodwill on South Dakota Avenue.

Karen Allen: Every visit has been a delight. The inventory is consistently unique and high quality. The volunteers are delightful.

Lilliandra Shaffer: It's a little small, basically the size of a thrift store you'd find in a small town, but the stuff that they have was donated by the parishioners of the National Cathedral. If you need cheap work clothes this place is great.

Brenda Morning: Past shopping has been a treasure hunting experience but today there was nothing I could use. Maybe the good donations are down n sadly I was disappointed. I will return again at a later date nut I'm in no hurry based on todays visit

Danny Newell: The choices were atypical. Also, there were very few choices to accessorize umbrellas, there were no gulf shoes. Mondays Window Shopping only.

Suzanne White: PLEASE NOTE: THE SHOP IS CLOSED DUE TO PRECAUTIONS IMPOSED AS A RESULT OF THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING DONATIONS WHILE WE ARE CLOSED. We will post information on reopening when it is available.

Jan Scherer: Queen, wearable items, some high fashion. Staff is very friendly.

Heidi Friedrich: Great place to find an assortment of donated goods. Hit or miss!

Jesica Thavarajah: such a fun shop! a bit hard to get to though!

National Shrine Gift Shop: what do users think?

Ludette: Each time I'd make a trip to Washington DC, I make it a point to visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. I am at peace with every visit. It has numerous altars, a huge cafeteria and a gift shop downstairs.

Richard Legendre: As the largest Catholic Church in the Western hemisphere, you'd expect it to have a nice gift shop, and it does! Two really, although one is mostly a book store and one mostly a gift shop. In the gift shop you'll find a wide variety of art tapestries, statues large and small. You'll find a other assortment of crucifixes, pixes, holy water bottles. They even have the occasional kids toy and just DC related things as well. You can certainly buy a cathedral quality items at cathedral quality prices, but you can also just get smaller and cheaper items at reasonable prices. Some stuff is overpriced, sure. But the proceeds go towards upkeep of this amazing building and grounds and all the great things that they do!

Gaye Sauvager: Nice pieces. Promptly shipped

Sheila Jurgensmeyer: Looking at all the goodies. Needing Mass cards.

Toni O-P: I absolutely love this place!!! I truly feel this is a must shop & see DC Holy icon shop.

Kelly L. Mendez: I truly feel this is a must shop & see DC Holy icon shop

Richhard Master: Like it.

u st tobacco And Vape: what do users think?

Sal Mafi: I have visited almost every single glass shop in DC and U St Tobacco shop has the best prices. If you want nice pieces that work, for a very good price you cant' beat this places value. But that is not the only reason I will keep coming back here over others. The owner of the store is a good person who cares about his customers. I bought a bong from them about 2 weeks ago. My dog broke it last night. I went back there to get another pieces. When the owner realized I had just been there a couple weeks ago he gave me a huge discount. He lost profit to make me happy when he did not have to. I did not ask him to. He offered the discount. That is very rare in this day and age. It is important to keep these places with owners like this open because it is hard to find businesses who care about more than just profit. I suggest you visit this store and buy something. I will keep going back for sure.

Moe woozie: I have been to few tobacco stores in the DMV area but U Street tobacco is the best by far!! Inventory is always full, the place is clean & follow CDC rules (wearing masks, gloves and also provides sanitizer for clients) and the employees are polite and extremely helpful!! Shout out to all the employees and the owner for the best customer services!! Overall, I recommend this place if you want your products fresh and reasonable price!!

Hailu Abraham: I visit this shop every time I'm in DC, clean and friendly environment, workers are awesome, would definitely recommend.

Josué Aminadad González Blanco: I like the store. They have a really cool deals and products to your needs.

Alexus Lyles: The owner Rami was very polite and helpful and made sure we was taken care of. He was very nice and the staff is friendly. I love this shop and will be coming back soon!!! Make sure to shop, definitely quality for a great price!!!

James Wooten: Was not open as described on google
Response: Sorry for that. There was accident on the previous day that is why it was closed. Thank you

Kyle Barrett: After I checked the hours on Google and their website, I stopped by this morning. The door was locked 45 minutes after they were supposed to open. I hung around U Street. I went back at about 10:15am and the door was still locked. I tried calling but no one answers. Not only did I waste time coming here, I wasted even more time waiting around for them to not open.
Response: We really sorry that we opened late and wasting your time. Please don’t take this as our weakness but it is because of some situation. Please contact us on email U13VAP@gmail.com and we will definitely do something for you Thank you

Yonas Marcos: Great service and selection. They also have reasonable prices for the products. Check them out today.

Gera Coffee: Very reasonable price. One of the best tobacco shop I ever seen. Also, 100% at Customer service.

Maher Jam: If I could give this place ZERO Star then I would!. Very limited options and the woman behind the counter is SUPER RUDE!
Response: We are sorry for what happened and will take corrective action. Email us on u13vap@gmail.com and we will try to fix the problem. Thank you for your comment

Saint John Paul II National Shrine: what do users think?

Marvin Morales: In this place of peace and tranquility there is much to see but above all, engraved on the walls are so much of our Lord Jesus. Likewise, you can find the greatest thing that God gave us for this earth, which was this wise man and a man who loved God and gave him his life. you are a man of god. Saint John Paul Second. Thank you for everything you left us.

Evelyn Champion: If you enjoy the Basilica you must also make time to see this shrine. A gorgeous church, a chapel with a blood relic, and a full museum complete with films and artifacts. It's very modern bit really beautiful.

Daniel Ciucci: Though it looks like a modern private school on the outside, the inside is dignified and engaging. Go in and start with the movie in the basement and then meander though the exhibitions on the various genres of JP2’s pontificate. The media is really impressive and the exhibits are well-curated with taste and reverence. The chapels are gaudy, with an almost-Vegas-like sparkle which is irrelevant to any aspect of Wojtyła’s life. That part is just too bad.
Response: Daniel, thank you for the review. We hope you had a great time during your visit, and we are happy to hear you were pleased with the permanent exhibit. We'd like to respond to the part of your review regarding the design of our Redemptor Hominis Church and Luminous Mysteries Chapel. Centro Aletti is the name art studio that created the mosaics in our church and chapel. Saint John Paul II both established the studio and appointed Fr. Marko Rupnik, SJ as its director. He also invited the studio to renovate the Redemptoris Mater chapel in 1999 (the first major work of art done at the Vatican since the Renaissance). Fr. Rupnik's work can be seen all over the world, including at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes in France. The mosaics at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine are intended to tell the key points of the "Redemptor Hominis" encyclical and the "Rosarium Virginis Mariae" apostolic exhortation through art. This, in itself, reflects the spirit of St. John Paul II's 1999 "Letter to Artists." We hope this helps clarify how the mosaics are actually connected to our patron's life. We hope you are able to return soon to attend our 1pm daily public tour that better explains the mosaic scenes.

Andrzej Jaworski: One of the best museums in Washington. In an interesting and modern way, it shows John Paul II and his influence on the fate of the world. Free entrance.

Mary Roughton: The Shrine is a beautiful place to visit. I really don't know what my favorite it but I learn something new about Pope John Paul II every time I walk through the museum. My kids love to visit the first class relic of JPII and I love going to Mass there and saying the Divine Mercy Chaplet after.

Zach Hardy: Beautiful shrine with one of a kind mosaics in the main church and side chapel, really like no other church I've seen. The exhibit on St Thomas More was very interesting, and the permanent exhibit on JP II moved me to tears. Well worth a visit.

Grace O'Connell: Wonderful exhibit about the life of JPII. Very moving and very well put together with plenty of information, pictures and mementos from his life. A very touching experience to learn so much about this saint. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The temporary chapel upstairs had a very prayerful and peaceful atmosphere, and I'm excited to go back and see the permanent chapel when it's completed. Altogether an absolutely wonderful shrine.

Gregory Blomgren: This Shrine is an amazing tribute and way to pay homage to Saint John Paul II! The sanctuary is gorgeous with all of the mosaics. Each mosaic depict one of the great stories in the Bible, from the Nativity to the enslavement of the Jewish people in Egypt. Overall, my experience at the shrine surpasses 5 stars.

Linda Sandoval: If you were touched by this great man and Saint, you must visit the shrine. Honored to pray before his relic.

Martin Brossman: Really spectacular place. Bought by the Knights of Columbus. My friend that is a Knight wanted to go to noon mass so I joined him. 1st time to mass. Very nice and if Saint John Paul II or the Knights has meaning to you it is well worth the time. Also nice little gift shop, 1st level relic and large exhibit area.

White House Gifts: what do users think?

mir09 com: Very cool gift shop! Here you can find almost any souvenir at affordable prices.

Kris Pahel: Oh my gosh there is so much cool stuff in here. They have hats, t-shirts, jackets, coffee cups coins. You name it. They got it all. And if you purchase something they will give you a free photo and a photo booth down the road. two doors down. It's a set up like the oval office.

Kelly Hyer: Cute free gift with purchase. Photographer did great job getting kids to smile.

Ufuoma Akpotaire: I really enjoyed visiting this gift store. I found that there were so many souvenirs I liked but I had to narrow my final selections down. It was very tricky making my choices but I did it! Also got a coupon from the store to take pictures in next door and that was great!

Cory: A nice tourist gift shop near the White House. It's packed with all the normal touristy merch and has a okay selection of shirts and sweatshirts available. If you're just looking for a T-shirt, post card, or some other cheap(ish) piece of merchandise this is your spot. No public bathroom. If you are looking for more upscale White House merch though I'd suggest the White House Visitor's center down the road. They have all the commemorative ornaments, high quality prints, high end glassware ect.

Wen Del: Not bad an experience. My attendee was truly wonderful, insightful and full if very useful advice. Something here for everyone and the prices aren't too put offish

Shantelle Carpenter: Very nice gift shop however very expensive in our opinion..... The photo booth was the highlight for us

Sean Gillespie: ... thought the White House was bigger than it actually was, much better sights in the area to be done, and would recommend the electric scooters as a transport means.

Tammie: It is what it is, a souvenir shop, but they have nice things & helpful people & you can go around the corner for a free picture with your purchase.

Miss Savannah Ga Curry: It was really nice place to pick up Souvenirs and things

Damien C: It's nothing is perfect, but, I can always count on this store to help me out in an emergency purchase whenever I split a pair of pants or a new shirt or I left my tie home. Never close this door, just better organize it and have more people on the register when there's a long line. You'll then get a 5 star from me.

Jackie Allen: The target there was clean, people were friendly and helpful and the selection was bountiful. Wish they had more clearance items in the electronics section, but that is just my personal preference. Great shopping experience!!

DAVID SEGUI-ALBINO: A sad day, a sad for the family a Happy for my dear brother who just past away; this was his spot for the last 3 years….. we will always remember you my brother….. God will have you in his eternal love….

Sherry Johnson: DC Zoo was wonderful. The weather was amazing on Saturday June 4, 2022. Did ah lil shopping as well ☺️Had an wonderful day in D.C.

Chanpen Tee: The store is small. The staff is nice

Mark Pietrzykoski: I needed to make a return to Bed bath and beyond. I will admit I waited longer then I should have an felt bad returning perfectly good toaster the week of Christmas. They happily refunded my purchase amount. I am still mad at Target for the deplorable way they treated me months ago. Don't mind the $2.00 fee for parking in a safe accessible garage.

Edgar Acajabon: I grew up in DC it had always been a wonderful place to live in. Everything went up and then boom nothing was ever the same. There are just too many things that DC has overlooked in the last twenty years that is giving the city a bad impression. It's the capital of the country. They need to stop looking the other way at the problems they don't care to deal with. I would like to see DC for it once was. Ifl could please

Ez Moneyshot: It's not much of a mall 4 stores and a gym. It' definitely had the potential to great but big fail

Kevin Russell: The target here is really big and generally has everything you need. Best buy and Bed, Bath, and Beyond is also good good. I rarely go into the Marshall's because by the time I go, the store is torn up. It's a super sketchy area so please watch your back. But generally many visible police present. Also right next to the metro.

Yolanda Williams: Still learning about the shops that are in this area there's a Target there's a Best buy there's a Marshalls there's surprisingly enough there's like six shops in this one area but unfortunately the Starbucks was closed in the target

Lauren Hoffman: Great consignment shop! Have only visited to shop, not to sell, but am very impressed by the quality and curation of clothing within. Also appreciate that they organize by size and have abundant, well-lit fitting rooms. Wish they had more accessories and jewelry, and found that they had something like a 10:1 ratio of tops to bottoms, which was odd? But really fun to browse.
Response: Laura - thanks so much for shopping with us and posting a review. Yes, curating our pieces is a BIG deal for us and we believe it helps our shoppers find exactly what they're looking for. Also, we're always on the hunt for great accessories and we have a hard time keeping them around when we get them. Check back again soon as new gems arrive daily. Take care ~ Carmen

Marisa N: This shop has a great selection. Their stock ranges from trendy fast fashion to high quality designer. The quality ranges from a clearly used items (likely selling because of the brand name) to brand new with tags. The prices are fair (not a steal, but fair). They charge more than your average thrift shop because their inventory is better than your average thrift shop. The price range seemed to be about $40-$80 per item, with some lower priced fast fashion items ($15- $30) and some expensive designer items ($100 - $200) mixed in. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience & will return!
Response: Awesome! Thanks so much for your review Marisa. Stop back soon - Carmen

Katherine Koehler: This is a great consignment shop. The inventory changes frequently, sometimes I don't find anything and other times I find tons! Also it's very easy to sell with them. Highly recommend.
Response: Katherine - thanks so much for the review. We work hard to keep the inventory fresh and current. Stop back again soon! ❤️ Carmen

Gemma Ni: I consigned several items here and I regret doing so. It has been almost 4 months but none of my item was sold, including a pair of Eileen Fisher pants, a silk scarf and a necklace. All in pretty good condition. I started to read reviews online and realized they donate unsold items fairly quickly. I simply don’t want my designer pieces to be donated. If I knew the sales didn’t move, I would never choose Current Boutique. Even if set the slow sales aside, I am also suspicious of the check-offline-status-online business mode. Unlike the completely online consignment, the status of store sales cannot be monitored. I don’t know if no one buys them or it is payout delay.
Response: Gemma - thanks for reaching out and providing your feedback. For starters, please make sure you have access to your online account to check item status and receive updates. If you need help accessing your account, please contact us at https://currentboutique.com/pages/customer-service. I checked your account and you are correct that your pieces have not moved yet. We hope to move your three items shortly and will continue to attempt to sell them on your behalf. Take care - Carmen

Natalia: UPDATE: The store manager reached out to me to address my concerns and updated me on when my items would be posted. They said the wait was about 2-3 weeks for items to get logged into the system. Updating my review rating because I appreciated the communication and clarity. UPDATE: It's been over two weeks since I brought my items in, and I don't see my items listed for sale on my account. Not sure what the status is since they should be listed by now. Getting a bit worried and this feels a bit sketch. Had a positive experience both selling and buying here. Great selection of designer clothing and bags. They were very clear about what the selling process is like & were able to answer all my questions. They don't allow you to reclaim your clothing after the 90 day window but they do try to sell at a lower price before donating it.
Response: Hi Natalia! I'm thrilled to hear about your awesome time at our DC store. Thanks so much for taking the time to post a review. Carmen

Stacy Walker: The girls there are all super sweet and helpful! I go in probably once a month, but didn't have too much luck until today! Found some great pieces and had a good time talking. Thanks so much!
Response: Stacy - I always say to check back often because new gems arrive daily! So so happy you were able to find some great pieces on your last trip. Hope to see you again soon. ❤️❤️❤️ Carmen

Marie Eichholtzer (Marieichho): Great to have a second hand shop with current brands and not only vintage clothes. Always great finds.
Response: Marie - love the review! Having a current, curated selection is why I started CB 16 years ago. Please come back again soon. Take care ~ Carmen

A S: Did not honor their own refund policy.

Jason Vieira: Totally overpriced. Charging $16 for SHEIN tops that are literally $4 brand new. Not consignment. You won’t be saving money here
Response: Jason - thanks for sharing your experience. We are constantly reviewing our pricing to ensure the best value for our customers and highest return for our consignors. We'll take a look... Take care ~ Carmen

Kia Johnson: During a recent stop, my first ever visit at the store, I walked in and was informed the store has a policy of keeping shopping bags at the front counter. I hesitantly walked to the counter to check my bags from other stores then was told they also needed to hold my handbag behind the counter. I have never been asked to surrender my handbag to a stranger to hold while I shop at any store, much less a consignment store. I told her that was a step too far and retrieved my other bag and left the store. Another associate told me it was very common for stores to hold bags and handbags. I have never, and will not never surrender my purse to shop. The irony is they don’t trust me to shop without stealing items, but I should trust them to hold my handbag. This was my first and last visit.
Response: Kia - thanks so much for visiting the store. Thanks also for your honest review. We are truly sorry to make you feel uncomfortable. That was not our intent. Since we reopened our stores, we have been beset with shoplifting attempts. Due to social distancing, to keep our staff safe we've instituted the policy regarding large bags behind the counter. The policy is universal and applied to all customers. We are aware some shoppers are not comfortable with this policy but until conditions change we must err in the direction of staff safety. COVID-19 has been super tough on us. We need customers like you to survive. We hope you'll give us a second shot. Thanks - Carmen

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Store: what do users think?

Chira Pat: Deep times, I spent an hour in this museum to see all of those things in the world shown in this place.

Ethan Turner: This place is really really big! It can get confusing where you have and haven't been already, but overall a great experience and full of information and some really interesting stuff!

Amanda Meyer: Went to visit the updated Dinosaur exhibit in the Fossil Hall...super amazing! The brightly lit colorful exhibits take you back in time to explain evolution of species as well as human impact on the planet. They had fantastic dioramas which began at kid level sight. These displays allowed the visitor to get close to the exhibits. Family of 4, 2 kids 9 and 5, 2 adults with Grandparents in tow and everyone loved it! It was a bit crowded but there was enough room to maneuver through. Be sure to check out the poop display by the bathrooms just past the worker observation room.

Anthony Scott: The Smithsonian museums are all free. They had so many exhibits for the kids to see and many of them are interactive. In one section they had over one thousand samples where kids can see close up, e.g. birds, fish, reptiles. You can put some samples under a microscope to learn more about them. A must see.

Sasko Gramatnikovski: One of the best things in Washington DC are the Smithsonian museums. They all have free entrance. They can hold your attention whole day and you will come out much richer in knowledge.

Ronald De Leon: Always a great time at the Smithsonian Natural History museum. First time for my son and wife and they really had a blast seeing all the displays. Great place for the family and lots of things to see.

Amanda Beil: I was in absolute heaven here. Everything I love - butterflies, elephants, Egyptology, dinosaurs, photography - was here. I had limited time to spend but I was able to see everything I wanted to while finding time to sit and eat at the food court. At the time I went, the new dinosaur exhibition was still being made, so I thought I wouldn’t get to see dinosaurs...but I was so wrong. After the Egyptology section, I turned the corner...and saw the Tyrannosaurus Rex of my dreams. My jaw hung open for a good minute or two. It was humbling to see how large it was standing next to it. Edit: Their new fossil hall just opened and it is definitely worth seeing! The giant sloth blew me away!!!

DeadSeaGulls: Literally selling cheap, heat-treated, amethyst as expensive "citrine" in the gem store on the 2nd floor. C'mon folks. You're the ONE shop I would expect better from. 175 bucks for that little heart in the top right corner... You could get burnt amethyst on etsy for 10 bucks if you wanted.

Margaret M: Fun and interactive. Lots to see for all ages. Interactive displays. However, tickets to butterfly experience went fast (we were there 45 min after museum opened and 1st time available was 3 hrs later!) Many displays being renovated. Cafeteria being renovated but small cafe there with pre made sandwiches & salads that were pricey.

Joy Seeker: Very disappointing. Manmade displays with manmade opinions of evolution tied to every feature. Didn't spend too much time here. Children exposed to such false reports.

Toy Soldier Shop-Washington: what do users think?

Austin Graff: If you're into antique toy soldiers, this house shop is one of the only stores left of its kind in the entire country. The man who runs it opens the storefront only on Saturdays by placing a sign on his rowhouse on Capitol Hill. Once inside, he'll answer any question you have about antique toys. If you are a collector, you'll find two large rooms filled with perfectly kept sets of soldiers from many ways priced at hundreds of dollars.

taney paul: Great shop and owner.

John Koerber: Door was locked. No sign or hours. Pretty sure they are permanently closed.

Joshua Hellhake: A studio with a wonderful experience and fine craftsmanship

Prince Vultan: One of a kind!

Irving Finkel: Unsurpassable

Da Hsin Trading Inc: what do users think?

Ric G: Great souvenirs of Chinatown and Washington DC. Little trinkets all the way to furniture. Staff is super helpful and friendly, and prices were decent. This place has also Asian snacks and treats and a huge selection of herbs and medications.

Htoo Myat: This is a great little shop where you can get a limited selection of Asian dry goods and such with a whole lot of gifts. One of the shops that still make D.C. Chinatown still actually feels like a Chinatown. It's really worth going in there and check when you visit, you might find something cool! If you're a DC resident and need some Asian goods without having to go to VA or MD, you can find some basic stuff here.

Jobs: I was specifically looking for a store were I could get one of those waving cat dolls. This store has tons of those items plus traditional Chinese medicine plus liquor candy kitchen tools serving items and so much more. Don't miss this for Chinatown souvenirs plus practical items.

ARIA SPENCE: I need DONG QUAI ROOT for women,, the fake jade curly hair Buddha GOOD LUCK and PROSPERITY statue is not sold here ANYMORE, only plastic green fufu lion, and bald head fat pregnant man alopecias sparse hairs scalp buddha for bad luck, has no amoxicillin like in New York in the DC location . And the black blasian martial arts man Guang Gong warrior statue MISSING like ebony jade philosopher Lao Tzu, I bought here BEFORE, threw it away after the lady with the dreadlocks in PG MALL, only the pregnant man bald head buddha pot beer belly to not find a wise BLASIAN BOYFRIEND through bloodlines I LIKE BLASIAN MEN like tyson beckford the model .

Anita Wu: This place always has the ingredients (dry goods; no grocery) for which I'd otherwise need to go to a dedicated asian grocery and leave the city. As someone without a car, it has been a true lifeline the last few years I've been in DC, and now more than ever with covid. The grandma at the register is the sweetest and most wonderful and deserves all of the happiness and health the world can offer.

Pristine Collectables: Very interesting place to visit, it's worth a walk through, but it does need a good cleaning. If you are looking for bamboo plants grown into hearts, jade carved elephants, or slippers, this is your place.

Faith Ebersole: Largest Oriental store I saw while in China Town. So many great gifts and just everyday stuff here. Definitely check it out.

Andrew Foley: Very friendly staff with fun products

Samuel Winter: This store is great for both shopping and sightseeing. I go there because of their extensive tea collection. Some of their tea boxes are as little as two dollars, for teas that are way more interesting than what you would get at your typical grocery store.

Oscar Gonzalez: Earlier I attempted to come back for a painting I had seen with the price tag of $8.99, when I went to pay the older lady scratched off the tag in front of my own eyes, and said it was wrong and went through asking her daughter to go through this whole finding-something-the-same-size scam to upcharge to $15.99. I had shown her footage of me finding it and of the price tag in case they thought we put our own price tag for whatever reason, but they insisted on charging me as much as the others which I obviously did not want because of their prices, which additionally were not in any way the same series of paintings. Right or wrong the price ON the item should have been honored and they should not have been so stingy for a few dollars. As a tourist I felt disgusted, I have such a appreciation for Asian aesthetics and culture and was planning to come back for more of their higher prices goods but to challenge their own price to get more out of me is just bad mannerism. Keep in mind most of the 'good reviews' are coming from people who have not bought anything, everything there is amazing granted, but if you read others reviews with Buying-experiences it's just sad.

Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle: what do users think?

Conrad: Beautiful and peaceful. Masses every day...great to see the history and take a break from the craziness in this sanctuary. Thank you tothose many folks who keep it in such good shape after all these years!

Cynthia Fore: Gorgeous Church. Sunday Mass was beautiful and the homily was well done. They are a welcoming, warm Catholic family. I spent some time in the Church afterwards and spoke with the Deacon at length about the Church and various matters. He had great suggestions for dinner. If I lived here, this would most definitely be my home parish. I hope to return one day!

Christopher Woods: A beautiful church! I didn't attend Mass here, but got to explore around. Some great artwork, and definitely a prayerful & holy place.

G C: Awesome Cathedral with amazing acoustics for the organ but horrible echoes for voice. Cardinal Gregory was able to pause so he could be understood. The cantor and lectors could not. If you are Catholic you need to experience Mass here at least once. Go early and enjoy the mosaics.

Robert Ruffolo: A great sanctuary inside the city. Classically designed and decorated.

Remembered Events: We have done multiple ceremonies at St Matthews and wow are they special. Father Benson is a passionate and caring priest who values the marriage process and wedding ceremony. Highly recommend.

A.O. M: Im from Bham, AL., every trip to DC I can't wait to attend Mass at St. Matthew the Apostle.

Shawn Henson: Very nice service, only stayed for 5 min. Maybe 6 people here

Paul Gurtler: Very much enjoyed Holy Mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. Enormous and beautiful pre-1900 built Holy Roman Catholic Cathedrial filled with incredible mosaics and other wonderful works of Christian art. The old Monsignor priest gave an excellent sermon and also walked around to warmly greet all of the visitors after Mass. He was very happy to bless our daughter (who is a USCG officer) prior to her departure for an overseas deployment. The Cathedral is a must see for all people of whatever faith. Highly recommended.

David Baquerizo: Beautiful cathedral. From the outside it looks nice and once you enter in, it will lift your spirit and filled you with awe. It has beautiful marble all around and art. It is worth visiting and attending mass. It is also the church were president Kennedy’s requiem mass took place.

Barbers of St,James London: what do users think?

Frank Fasi: Made an appointment two hours earlier online. Showed up about 20 minutes early, but was ready to go in 10. I had Thomas cut my hair. I went in wanting to try something new, so I left it up to him to decide how to cut it. Thomas made a plan and talked me through exactly what he was going to do, then he got started. He took the time to make sure everything was trimmed to perfection. Ended up with a tapered combover. He even lined up the sides. Excellent haircut, and it was my first one in months. The true barbershop interior and jazz music added to the experience. Well worth the price (around $50 is what I spent, including tip). Best part, they actually take cash or card, so no need to deal with all the hassle other places might put you through just to pay. All around, a fantastic first haircut in DC. Definitely will be going back again to Thomas in the future! Service: Haircut

Shawn Malik: The owner and Fernando who cut my hair were extremely welcoming and professional. I ended up being more than an hour early for my appointment and they accommodated me without hesitation. Fernando took his time with great care cutting my hair and trimming my beard. Best haircut I’ve ever gotten. 11 out of 10. Do yourself a favor and book now. Services: Beard trim , Haircut

craig pettigrew: Called Rick about getting haircuts and shaves for a group of groomsmen prior to a wedding, and he went out of his way to take care of us. I got my haircut and shave from Thamir, and he did a phenomenal job. He got us looking sharp before our friends big day. Great experience all around.

Jillian Hicks: Really nice guys, atmosphere, and vibe. They were able to squeeze my partner in for a walk-in appointment and gave him a perfect skin fade. His barber’s attention to detail was amazing. Highly recommend!

Soren Whiting: This barber shop is an absolute life saver. Prior to coming in to Barbers of St James London, I attempted to cut my hair myself and completely ruined it. However, I was completely saved by the skilled work of Thamir Zeyada, who did an incredible job fixing my hair and gave me the best hair cut I have received in years. I cannot recommend this place more, the team is incredibly friendly and the work is of the highest quality. Service: Haircut

Xevian: If I can give a zero star I would. The barber that cut my hair completely messed up my hair. He had no idea of what he was doing. He cut my hair so short that I can see my scalp despite I repeated told him my requirement!! And on top of that my hair is uneven on each side!!! I don’t know how I am going to show up for work now. I lost it on him! I will not go back to this place again! Someone like him should not be a barber! My wife can do a better job!!
Response: Hello so sorry to hear this. Please who was the barber that cut your hair? and could I send you a gift certificate to try another one of are barbers. Disappointment to hear this Rick

Ahilan Amirthanayagam: I spoke to the owner, Rick, on the phone before coming in to the shop. I told him that I wanted to get a beard trim and he told me that I should book an appointment with Fernando. I was surprised by the time and care Fernando took with my beard as well as the service he provided. This was in the top three of my experiences with a quality beard trim and I recommend you to see Fernando if you want a professional touch up.

Stephen Taylor: Outstanding barbers here. Took me on short notice, did an amazing job getting my beard lined up and gave me a fresh fade. Shop is nice and clean inside, they used good products on me, and gave great advice.Services: Beard trim, Haircut

Joshua Staley: Such an amazing cut. There is just something about a real barber who uses a straight razor and hot towel. A relaxing experience that is well worth the cost. Wish we had more barbers like this.Services: Beard trim, Haircut

Serge Eygenson: Great service, flexible hours, and reasonable prices. Thamir Z was an excellent barber and did a great job.

True Value On 17th: what do users think?

Martha Wilson: I have been coming here for years. Staff members are very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s quite well stocked, considering it’s a small hardware store. I’m so glad they made it through the Covid closures here in DC. The store is a fixture in our community. I love it!
Response: Thank you for you kind comments!

Bob Hourigan: I've loved this place since it was called Twomeys. A neighborhood staple. Friendly staff always willing to help.
Response: Thank you Bob!

Katie Ambrose: I honestly love shopping here. Their selection is great and the people are so nice and helpful. You can tell they really care and take pride in the store. Also their prices are reasonable! I go here for hardware, plants, kitchen items, quick gifts - everything!
Response: Katie, thank you for the wonderful review.

Marshall King: Funky little hardware store. Employees are top notch, without them I’m not sure who could navigate the store.
Response: Thank you Marshall, John

Javier Ruiz: Increíble, this store have of all..... Fantastic!! and good products and prices. Thanks True Value!!!
Response: Thanks for the 5 Stars Javier! John Spalding, Owner

William Rodriguez: This is my SPOT! I used to run around all over town trying to find different odds and ends offered at specific stores. Then I stumbled on True Value on 17th which seems to have everything I could ever need and quickly became my one stop shop. Feels like I'm in this store just about every weekend. I was treated like family (with great customer service) on day one and that continues to be the same experience with every visit since. Have actually come to enjoy seeing the same people on every visit and catching up. The staff is not only friendly and conversational, but also very knowledgeable. These folks have advised me on mounting curtains, replacing a bathroom sink, removing graffiti, patching a hole in the wall, painting, plant care and countless other household projects/hobbies. I could go on and on raving but I'll stop there. You'll have to stop in and experience it for yourself!
Response: Hello William, Thank you for your wonderful review! John Spalding, Owner

Tricia Hooper: This place is like Narnia for everything you need for your home! I don’t know how they fit their extensive inventory so perfectly in such a small place, but it’s like magic. I have yet to go in and not be able to find what I need. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming. Such a great local business - who needs Amazon when you have everything you need down the street at True Value?!
Response: Tricia, I really appreciate your comments! Thank you, John Spalding, Owner

Paul Durbin: Great staff. I’ve gone to this hardware store at least 100 times. They make eye contact and ask what I need help with, without fail. They all seem to jump in to cover any duty. If a register is occupied, one of the staff will quickly ask to take me at another one. I’ve never had to search for help and I’ve never had to wait in line.
Response: Thank you Paul, I appreciate the feedback! John

Rujwan: This place is great! It's nice to have a hardware store nearby, but this store offers so much more! The have a nursery, which doesn't surprise me, kitchen ware, cleaning supplies, and so much more. On top of that, they're all really friendly.

Sara: Very well-stocked local hardware store! Something for everyone here, and they have quite a few home decor options. Got a mounted key holder here as well as some screws - everyone was very friendly.
Response: Hello Sara, thank you for the compliments, John Spalding, Owner

Five Below: what do users think?

Tsukiko: The staff here are really nice! I’ve had some great chit chats about squishmallows with a few of them. The store is always clean and organized as well.

O'Donna “Boochie Daniels” Daniels: I love this store.. went it on 5/9 they had no Candy... Could you guys please restock

David Ruffner: EVERYONE WAS SOOO NICE. The cashier asked me if I was okay. The security guard greeted me one the way out. Best experience at five below, the cashier that was nice was wearing light blue with a 1998 necklace (4:40 8/4)

CARMEN ANITA KEELS: #REDSKINS #DieHards4Life And Its A #HeatWave Needed BackUp With 3 WaterPack Guns!! #Ynot😜😃🤪🤪

Rebecca Jones: Staff are always pleasant. They could hire someone to place posters in correct order by number. I am sure they would sell a lot more. They have a great selection. The staff they have there now are perfect.🔥🔥💯

Cilver: I wanted to share that I enjoyed my trip to this store yesterday due to the great customer service shown by the employees there, and my cashier Mr. KJ. The store is very clean and well organized which always makes my shopping experience quick and easy.

J. McCormick: Ethically, it's difficult to like this store. Sell a bunch of things that effectively won't work for more than a week or so, to folks who can only afford that. Great to stop for candy or Cokes, but overall, the marketing and idea as a whole is sketch to me.

Sharon Bradley: Love this place, it has some of everything!

chantal yameogo: My son always advised me to go to 5 five Below and when I got there for my first time I was surprise because I saw good supplies and at a great price.

George Worsley: The staff was very friendly but I ask more than one crew member for a charger and was told by both of them that its in the back and they can not reach it . I help open that store when I was 17 we maintain inventory on the floor organized Overstocked items in the back and had all delivers put away by at least by noon very dissatisfied by lack of empathy I would never tell a paying guest we have exactly what you want but we won't get it .I evan waited and check back but to no avail
