Cafe Citron: what do users think?

Ed: Good vibe and good food. Definitely a place I will visit again, staff is friendly and music is great. After 9:30 pm the vibes gets better. Recommended

Amanda Blake: Clubby atmosphere with GREAT Latin music, amazing food, killer happy hour deals, and excellent service! The Latin hot dogs and beef arepa are both fantastic and a steal (2 hot dogs for $8 in THIS town??), plus happy hour is every night from 6 to 8. We were there pretty early for just dinner, but it would be an epic dance spot later in the night. 10/10 can't wait to go back!

sol sol: the food is good and the place very fun.

Gerald Mansfield: Had a wonderful time here last night celebrating a bachelorette party with a couple of our girlfriends, we had no idea that he shows existed at this location. Now that we have attended the show at this location for the bachelorette party last night and had their food, we will definitely be back. What a hidden gem

Jaime D: Good drinks and good music. Vibe was great but food was disgusting. You'll come here to hang out with drinks and do a little dancing with friends/ppl but you won't come here for the food.

Jose Martinez: This may be the best nightclub for the Hispanic community! However, they did make numerous discriminatory decisions against Deaf/HH partygoers. I went there many times, but the bartender was very busy and stressed. Too bad! We are using our phone to communicate what kind of drinks we want. That's extremely easy to read to allow them understand, rather than screaming at their ears for their damn drinks. All of a sudden, the woman quickly waved/flipped our phone. She mentioned, "I cannot communicate with you because you cannot hear." Oh, this is 2022! There are many devices and apps to communicate with each other. Let's preparty first, then enter that bar without asking them for a drink. They are extremely rude.

Michael John: This establishment is extremely racist and did not let my friend in because he is asian. DO NOT go here and support this racist bar. Find somewhere else.

Veronica: This is for the club. The music is great. Apparently though, they will restrict water unless you continue to buy alcohol. I do believe this is ilegal no? Very disappointed that this establishment would withhold water from people who need it. To quote the bartender: " I can't keep feeding you water all night".

Keisha Shepherd: Offers free salsa and bachata lessons. Great vibe.

kevin menjivar: Boris was amazing!! Come here for the day party, starting at 6 pm. This guy is amazing. Great service

Tropicalia Lounge: what do users think?

TruMari Cooper: Tropicalia is a good time!!! The venue is extremely cozy and the sound throughout is lovely. The bathroom was clean and bar spacious! The venue is downstairs as well. When we went it wasn't insanely packed so there was no issues with it being hot. All in all it was a nice experience.

Melissa Sky: Great location, vibes, cocktails and music (Live and djays). Diversity is the spice of life and Tropicalia takes you outside the "bubble". Mix up the music! Irie!

Ty Black: This is the only place I like to dance at. They got rid of 80s night it seems, but that's fine cause the music is still better than other places. People tend to be nice and not creepy. But it is small so it gets really crowded and drinks sometimes get spilled.

Aurore Lrdlc: The place in itself and staff are nice (the only reasons why I could come back). However over the three bands playing on stage, only one was listenable. The other two were (sorry)... atrocious (in addition to the sound which was a way too loud). The public was only made up of families and members of the other bands... I do not know how the bands selection is made and maybe I did not come on the right day, but for a Saturday night I was strongly disappointed by the stage (and I'm not the only one). I lost $12 cover and my ears came out in blood. Will not come again unless I checked the bands before coming.

Bin “habesh times” Fi: It’s an okay club seen. Bouncer asked me for money as a bribe because my friend forgot her Id. The music is a C+ not very good or bad. Drinks are fair priced considering the area and the time.

Karoll William Visual Arts: Learn to pronounce I just got mistreated by the person at the door. I visited this bar as part of the artists that performed that night, at a time when I went out to smoke a cigarette on the sidewalk in front, he tells me with an attitude that I had to go to the corner. I replied that I was on the street, that it is a public place and told me that then my night was "over" and that he would not let me in again. Of course I went to another friendlier place. I attach the picture of the stupid.

Alex Lima: This venue tend to have very good bands. But, they cut the shows off too early to give the stage to the house DJ that is nothing more than average. The venue does nit sell food and the drinks are somewhat overpriced.

scott g: Fun place. Went for a charity event and had a band playing. Great atmosphere

Edward Eilers: Open later and good atmosphere, decent drinks. Well lit areas plus spaces to sit and also less light in some areas. Overall as a small club it is good for the area, another way to unwind.

frank swyca: Topicalia Lounge is a really cool night spot. Eclectic live music and decent DJ later at night keeps the vibe popping. I took a friend from out town there and they loved it! My favorite spot in that 14th St. club area. Worth checking out if you have not.

Bossa Bistro & Lounge: what do users think?

Comely Weirdo: very dark and dirty place, waited for my food for very long, but they made a cocktail for me as a compensation. glasses and plates not clen. food is very good. improve smell and cleanliness

Sam Pence: Came in for the jazz, decided to get drinks and dinner too. We chose entrees but were told that of the 7 entrees on the menu, only 1 (??) was being served that night. We decided to go with that one. 30 minutes later our waitress comes out to tell us that THAT entree is no longer being served either. Seriously? We then got tapas since by then we were super hungry. One was advertised as a "croquette" but was a simple meatball, the others were doused in salt. No chance I'll be back, but the jazz was nice.

S S: A small space with limited seating. But this club is known for the featured bands, so dancing Salsa and Bachata is what you’re going to get! There is an upstairs which opens around 12 midnight and had a pretty good female DJ which I thought was excellent! She played reggeton and a mix of other music. There is an extension to the back where there is a decent sitting area for a less than noisy experience. Let’s talk about the crowd: a mix of young and mature, mostly young hipsters. I came across several rude patrons, who apparently the phrase excuse me is unknown. The bouncer in front is nice and the bartenders were ok. There was only one who seemed to know what she was doing. $10 cover charge for a subpar experience. The crowd is the reason for -2 stars. I’ve been to better Latin clubs.

Anita Hinnerichs: A great place for authentic Brasilian cuisine, excellent live music and dancing to Latin music salsa, bachatta, merengue, samba and more. Saturday nights are my favorite, but every night has something different and full experience to tantalize all your senses.

Garner Marshall: Great spot to go to. Live music and entertainment. Friendly staff. Parking is crazy but if you're willing to drive around for a few you'll definitely find parking, there is always someone leaving. The food was pretty good, it was suggested to me by the server. I enjoyed this spot.

Disha Vyas: Great ambiance; excellent music. Must visit if you are looking for a fun night weekday or weekend while in DC. We plan to go again.

Alice Ramos: The most fun in town! Connect with your latin roots through the best music and joyful people.

amir naimi: This place has awesome live music on Saturday by the amazingly talented Jorge and his band . Small not crazy busy environment and very enjoyable .If you’re in dc it’s a must see

Carol F: Great music, delicious food, nice patrons. The only thing I don't like is the incense smell.

Rahma Hejja: Cozy place, arts all around you, great atmosphere, had delicious food (shrimp + Salad) for $24 , it was Saturday, they had live music, two bands, once finished around 8:30pm the other started around 10:40pm, Ok I am not bachata or salsa dancer, went there with no partner, but I found a space to dance and have fun with my self, as usual 😍 Ok I don’t drink so I can’t tell you about drinks there, also don’t expect a huge menu of food, what you saw in pictures here you will see around you with people if you go there.

DanceSport Dupont Circle: what do users think?

Jason Janke: We found Terry with only one month until our wedding day, and over just a few classes he worked with us to choreograph an elegant, yet achievable first dance for us (we came in with no prior experience). We even changed songs after our first lesson, and he was able to quickly change the style of dance to better match the different pace of song. We had fun with the resulting dance, which impressed our guests and brought out some tears. The space could occasionally get crowded with other classes going on, but it was never an issue. We were happy with everything, and enjoyed our time learning/practicing.

Adam Abramson: Terry is very knowledgeable and has good tips. It’s a fun class that I’ll definitely use at my wedding. My only gripe is that if there’s other classes going on, he’s really soft spoken so it’s hard to hear. Would recommend though! Especially if you want a choreographed dance.

Sharon Williams: Love Earl! He is a great instructor! Also love the salsa club he took us to to apply what we have learned. Looking forward to the next class!

Sam Young: Terry was great however it was very difficult to hear with two other classes happening simultaneously in the same room with their own music.

Sarah Pearce: Terry choreographed our first dance for our wedding this past November and our guests loved it! It was one of the highlights of our reception. We never anticipated that our guests would be cheering for us! Neither one of us have taken lessons in the past, so we were anxious going into our first lesson. But Terry made us feel very comfortable and was very patient with us. He's very creative and provided a few options/moves for us to use based on what we preferred. We loved going home to practice - it was such a fun experience during the high-stress time of planning the rest of the wedding. I highly recommend!

Alessandro Ghidini: I have attended DanceSport Dupont Circle for the past 2 years. The dance area is spacious and divided by mirror screens to allow concurrent classes. I have taken ballroom lessons with Terry Chasteen with a focus on International style. Terry is the most patient and competent instructor one can desire. His own experience as competitor and judge at national and international competitions makes him perfectly suited to train and prepare a couple for the world of competitions. I was thus able to compete at a few National and one international competitions. It was a fantastic experience and Terry was there until the end to support me and my partner in our endeavor. I have also observed Terry interacting with couples who want to prepare for wedding events, and he is excellent at putting together a choreography that suits the music chosen by the bride (either for the dance with the groom or with the bride's father), as well as their dancing skills. You will not regret your decision to start dancing at DanceSport Dupont Circle!

Elsa Peraldi: Luca was our teacher for our wedding dance. He was great!!! Not only did he worked with us to have a great choreography, but he was also super patient with us and help us navigate the process at times when we would be stressed. He is really flexible and works with you to find a time that works for you. Couldn't recommend more!

Louis L.: OMG, Terry is adorable. Clearly, he eats, sleeps and breathes everything related to dancing. I have known him to dance with students late into the evening--perhaps having a power snack in between--but never skipping a beat! He is patient and accommodating. My dance partner and I won 3 silver medals after Terry choreographed four fantastic Latin dance routines in preparation for our dance competition in 2018. I am forever grateful to Terry for his training.

Jonathan Dickinson: We arrived 10 minutes early, and then waited 15 minutes after our appointment time. The instructor ignored us for the couple ahead of us. We planned our day and evening around this lesson.

John Farr: Great job of teaching the first dance wedding basics

Habana Village: what do users think?

Adam Farrell: We were just walking by, and were immediately enticed by the fun salsa/latin beat, savory aroma and fantastic vibes pouring out of this establishment. When we saw their happy hour selections, we were sold (5-7pm!). Outstanding Piña-Coladas, Mohitos, and Margaritas confirmed our anticipation, delicious and only six bucks. $3 draught beers, more fantastic music and THE BEST fried yucca were also enjoyed. This place is so fun, affordable and the kitchen is one of the most professional in the area. Mario was the most welcoming of bar tenders, as he happily explained the menu, their story and some of the dance classes that are offered (prior to covid). We felt safe being served outside and will be back FOR SURE. Especially for some dance lessons! P.S. for the authentic cuban experience, finish your meal with a shot of aguardiente! Delicious!

Madison Dull: This was a wonderful experience. the food, service, and music was incredible. The food was authentic. The service was perfect they were around the perfect amount. Mario, the server, was very attentive and made wonderful drink and food recemendations. It would be a shame not to dine at this restaurant.

Kezia M: Went here for my friends birthday! They were timely in getting us seated after being a bit late for our reservation. The staff were very nice and sincere. Absolutely loved the food! Took a little bit to come out but it was well worth the wait. Some of the best plantains I’ve ever had! Their rice and beans... chefs kiss. Will definitely return whenever I make my way to DC again!

Ernesto's Coffee Adventures: I love Salsa clubs and I have been to many all over the country but I have to say this one is the worst experience ever!! I went there on a Friday come to find out they charge you $20.00 and I didn't get to dance salsa music. I asked the lady on the third floor if I could see around the rope to see how many people were there and she denied me.. There was only two couples the whole night dancing. The people that work there are also not the nicest. It is pricey but it would be worth it it fulfilled the salsa vibe experience. For a salsa vibe I recommend Café Citron. I have been to many Salsa clubs and this one is the worst.

Jon A: I booked a party of 7 and was well accommodated. The food was very delicious, and the music authentic. Not like chain restaurant food. The hot and spicy wings was an appetizer everyone at the table couldn't get enough of, and every single person enjoyed their meal. Ontop of that the Flan they brought for the birthday Man was among the best Flan I have had.

Tina B.: Great cheap happy hour. Get a mojito! The tostones weren't very flavorful, but the chicken croquettes were delish.

Bryanna Dankers: My boyfriend and i went here a few times and have always had the best service - the food was very good (especially the ceviche) and the mojito’s! The server was very welcoming and a pleasure to speak to! Will always come here if we want Cuban cuisine! :)

MONICA MORLEY: Love the place, the owners are there greeting you and making sure you're having a good time. Music is terrific. Salsa lessons and ladies night are the best

Jocelyn Ponce-Lopez: It was our first time. We loved it. It was a late dinner yesterday Saturday at 10:30 pm. They welcomed us and the manager served us during dinner. We had the guacamole, empanadas and the Cuban sandwich. The sandwich was a real Cuban, like my mother’s. The music was perfect and we had a great time. The place was spotless, everybody wearing masks. I highly recommend this place.

Elizabeth T: This place was a great choice to go to! We ordered the nachos and they were fantastic!! It’s such a nice place to go and enjoy dinner and a drink. I felt right at home and they were very attentive. They sanitize their glasses and I was very happy to see that during this time! Everything was delicious. Make this a place to go and visit soon!

Jayy Livin: Best place to be on a sunday! Its multicultural/ diverse, good people, good vibes, great music. Dj’s mixing live!Been here twice already, definitely going again!

Dayan Escobar: I absolutely love this event for Sundays! I could give them a 6 starts if google let me do it. I'm definitely going back!

Daniel Martinez: Went for the lesson. Was suppose to start at 3 but started late at 3:32 and ended at 4. Thought it would at least be an hour or 45 mins. Instructor has skills dancing but went way too quickly to catch the moves. Never coming here again.

Bobbi DeAnda: This is my absolute FAVORITE dance spot! It’s a great way to close up the weekend on Sunday - There’s a dance power hour, then a lesson, and social dancing starts at 4 (so nice that it doesn’t start at 10pm). You can reserve a seating area and get bottle service - perfect for a celebration. There’s typically a weekly theme! You can get tickets ahead of time or at the door. There’s a good mix of bachata, salsa, cumbia, and regatón. It’s also a covered rooftop so feels more Covid safe being outdoors. Bartenders are great. DJs are great. Promoters are awesome. And they often have photographers there! Oh, and ALL THE AMAZING DANCERS!! Definitely my favorite spot!

alvin brown: Definitely the best Sunday event in DC. Everyone I tell to come check it out becamesca regular. The crowd, venue, and DJs are all great. Salsa bachata zouk kizomba, cumbia, reggaeton. Bachata Brunch caters to the crowd. It's the best part oh my weekend. Then there's the summertime rooftop pool parties they put on. Pool, dance floor, bar, DJs, cabanas, special performances. It feels like I'm partying in Miami.

Juan Sian: The venue was great, and the owner was very accommodating to me and my party before, during, and after the event. Overall a wonderful time! Would highly recommend

JOHNNY BEE: Amazing vive with the Latin music and the hot and sexy dancing ... and the food and the drinks makes the best Sunday party ever 👍🏽 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bachata brunch is taking over dc

Sami Ahmed: Amazing place for food and dance.

jayde corinne: The Bollywood Bhool Bhulaiyaa was awesome last night! Manan K did a Uber job on this event. Can't wait to check out his next one! Was my first of this type event so cool.

Vincent Nyeko: The owner is a mean and greedy guy. He calls this place heaven and hell but there's no DJ downstairs and the place is extremely boring. Do not waste your money going there!!!

Therese Leyva: I came for seven minutes in heaven but what I got was two hours of hell I’ve never seen such bad customer service in my life who wrote your policies and can I please get them to rewrite trumps policies thank you

sid reynolds: Had a great time. Perfect drinks the best margarita I've had in a long time... Great 80S VS 90S NIGHT IN WASHINGTON DC.. I'LL BE BACK NEXT SATURDAY...

jimmy Dormeus: Come turn up on Fridays & Saturdays with DJ HK on the ones and twos

Andrae Taggart: Place is nice for a fun night out great location

Grigol Makharadze: This is a dance club. They do not have live music. but only DJ. We didn't know that. But anyway stayed there. The place has enough space to dance for 15-20 people. They do check age. There is no entrance fee

7Figga Dreamz: I mean compared to some of the other clubs, yea this place might not be the best, but when i went, i had a blast. I liked the environment. I seen one persons negative comment saying it was like someones living room, your righr, it was like back when we used to have house parties in aparments.i cam go on and on about what i liked about the place.

Lolita Brogsdale: Nice people. It's crowded on the weekends but always be safe during your travels

R2bchic: Hip hop and rap bar. The place to go for a good time and ratchet turn up.

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar - Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Diana Hjelmeir: Husband and I love coming here for lunch/brunch on Sundays! If you like high end shopping, there is a shopping center right by this place. The interior is really well done, you feel like you're walked into a Universal Resort or theme park Cuban/Hispanic restaurant! I love seeing the interior whenever we eat here. We've always walked here, so I can't comment about the parking. I also didn't use the bathroom, so I also can't comment. Our waitress Paola was very patient with our children and loved interacting with them, thank you! Our orders were put in quickly and everything was delicious.
Response: WOW, Diana! Thank you for sharing this wonderful review! Here at Cuba Libre Washington DC, we strive to provide our guests with efficient service and mouthwatering dishes. Your praise lets us know we're succeeding! We're so glad you appreciated not only our inviting atmosphere and and courteous staff, but our delicious meals as well. We look forward to hosting you again soon for another memorable experience. Muchas gracias! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Da-Wang Wu: One of my favorite restaurants in DC. The interior design is pretty cool, and the ambience is great. My favorite is the seafood soup, very flavorful with lots of seafood inside. During dinner time (after 4pm), they serve toasted bread with mango butter, super refreshing flavor! Chicken croquette, fried yuca and empanadas are all very good. Guacamole is beautiful decorated but not the best one I’ve ever had. Paella doesn’t feel right, pretty wet. Churro as an ending dessert to be meal is a great option. Reservation might be needed during peak hours.
Response: Thank you for the great review, Da-Wang Wu! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your dining experience at Cuba Libre! We appreciate your praise for our decor and delicious dishes. The soup and empanadas were fantastic choices! Come back soon! Muchas gracias! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

M: Good food.Service took a while but it's ok. Pandemic times calls for extra patience. Once we got a server, we ordered food, it came without a long wait. It was a nice end of day meal after a museum marathon on a Sunday.
Response: We appreciate your feedback, Madelaine. We are thriled that you enjoyed our great feedback, but we are disappointed to hear that our service failed to meet your expectations. We appreciate your understanding regarding the pandemic, and our service. Please reach out to info@cubalibrerestaurant.com so we can learn more about your experience. -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Vikram Seshadri: Loved the music and the ambiance was very lively. Amazing vegetarian and Vegan options. Must try the Mojitos, Yuca fries and the Plantain chips.Had to call ahead and reserve a table and the restaurant was super busy on a weekday but was definitely worth it.
Response: We appreciate this detailed review, Vikram! We are delighted that you had a great time at Cuba Libre Washington DC and loved our music, vibrant ambiance, wide menu variety, and delicious meals. We are always seeking feedback, so we cannot thank you enough for letting us know how we are doing! Come see us again soon for another amazing experience! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Abby Fasehun: Loved the ambiance, felt like I was on the street of Havana. The Empanadas Was really good, forgot to take a photo of it, but overall, food was great. Customer service was top notch. Oh and the music!!! Got me moving the whole time. I’ll be back.
Response: We appreciate this glowing feedback, Bisola! Our team here at Cuba Libre Washington DC is delighted to hear that you loved our authentic Cuban ambiance, delicious food, amazing music, and phenomenal made-from-scratch dishes. This praise means the absolute world to us, and we hope to see you again soon for another excellent time! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Melinda Nguyen: Fantastic place for music, dancing, and drinks. The decor was beautiful and inviting. The space was open and the dance floor was fenced in which was a cool way to separate the space. It's busy and crowded on a Saturday night, but still had space to move around. Drinks were on point. The only downside was the lack of places to hang coats or bags. Coming during the winter, a lot of people struggled to put their things in a safe spot. Dancing with all the stuff is no fun. They should consider a coat check or something, especially in the winter. All in all, great music.. mix of Latin and pop throughout the night. I would definitely go back in the spring or summer.
Response: Thanks for the great review, Melinda! Cuba Libre is happy to hear about your experience! We're glad you enjoyed our ambiance, decor, and delicious drinks! We will make sure to discuss your comments regarding the lack of a coatroom with our staff moving forward. We're excited to welcome you back soon! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Kevin Russell: This is a long review, but please read to the end. Food is really good and the decor is great. On Friday and Saturday nights, not sure the time (I think around 10) the place basically turns into a salsa dance club. Really cool. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me this time was because our service was awful this trip. This is a follow up to that visit. The GM contacted me regarding the service. He took the time to address what happened and has generously offered to invite us back and make it right. This is the type of service restaurants should try to achieve. He takes pride in the customer experience and was very sincere. So I'm changing to 5 stars. I look forward to our next visit. As I said previously, the food is good, actually, great, and just a great place to have fun with your friends. I highly recommend this place. For a great app, try the empanadas. Really tasty. Oh, and I did forget to mention before, I'd suggest reservations on Friday and Saturday as a lot are there to enjoy the food and then dance the night away with some unique drinks they have! I'm confident our next visit will be amazing and I can't wait!!! I'll add photos of the dance floor and the food we choose this time around. We just had our evening here again after the service that was subpar before. This time, there was nothing subpar about our experience. We had a great table, our waiter was very attentive, fun, and made great suggestions for our friend that hadn't been there before. We had chicken and beef empanadas, and pineapple guacamole for apps. Was very good. Our dinner was very good. My friend and I had the plato gaucho mixed grill. My other friend had a neat and rice dish that I forgot to ask the name of. He's a chef at the White House, and he thought everything was excellent! The manager was aware of our previous experience and brought us desserts, and after dinner drinks that was a very nice touch, and we're also very good. The music was really good. The place really filled up with people to dance the night away on the dance floor that starts at 11 until 3 am. Everyone was having a great time. There was a pretty good sized line of people waiting outside to get in to enjoy the dancing. Really a perfect night out. Please go and support this restaurant. I highly doubt you will regret it. And if something isn't right, they will ensure to make it right. A big thank you to the GM, Matthew Fox, the manager Jessica, and our waiter!!!
Response: We sincerely apologize for the service challenges that you encountered, Kevin. We kindly ask that you contact us at info@cubalibrerestaurant.com for further discussion so that we can learn more. -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Austin Graff: A friend of mine's favorite restaurant in the world is Cuba Libre in D.C.'s Chinatown. He loves the drinks, food, atmosphere and music. Having not visited in over a decade, we made a reservation for a Sunday dinner. Here's our experience: 1) Food: The menu is Cuban and has variety with appetizers, mains, desserts and a kid's menu. My Cuban sandwich and shrimp dish were flavorful and my five-year-old daughter even loved the food! 2) Drinks: They have a rum bar and three options for sangria that come by the glass or pitchers. My friend and I split the red sangria. It was strong, but not as sweet as other sangrias. 3) Atmosphere: They try to transport you to Cuba. The restaurant is spacious and even has outdoor seating during the winter. Salsa dancing happens at Ciba Libre too! 4) Service: It was easy to make an online reservation. However, when we dined in the service was average. Our server wasn't very attentive and not very friendly, which is fine since we all have off-days. But our food took a long time to come out. 5) Price: It's pricey, even for D.C. If the food was the best you've had, it would be better, but with good, but not phenomenal food, the prices felt off. This spot isn't a bad option, but I don't join my friend in titling it the best in the world.
Response: Thank you for your detailed feedback and kind words, Austin. We sincerely apologize for the time you waited and service you experienced. Please reach out to us directly at info@cubalibrerestaurant.com so we may further discuss. Thank you. -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Michelle Edgar: We spent years in “little Cuba” in Hialeah FL, so we are pretty well versed in cuban food. This was stellar! Drinks were strong but flavorful. My husband and I got the mixed grill to share and it did not disappoint! If we come back to the dc area this will be our first stop!
Response: Muchas Gracias, Michelle! We are thrilled that our great food and delicious drinks exceeded your expectations. We look forward to hosting you again in the future for another great experience! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Greg Amiker: Beautiful layout (ambience feels like you're in a Cuban garden). The staff and managers were friendly and helpful. The seating is both indoors and outside. After 11pm on Weekends they turn part of the restaurant into a "Hot Cuban Club" with a nice setup of Mambo music, disco lights and DJ. Be aware that you're in downtown DC so expect pricey food and drinks, but the Mojito and other Cuban food is great!
Response: We appreciate your great review, Greg! Our team is so grateful that you took the time to let us know about your recent visit to Cuba Libre Washington DC! Your praise for our ambiance, attentive team, drinks, and made-from-scratch dishes is greatly valued! We hope to see you again soon for another outstanding experience. -Jessica Lopez General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

The Salsa With Silvia Dance Studio: what do users think?

Kat Cap: Was visiting DC for the weekend & felt like I wanted to do something else instead of museums and found Silvia's event on Eventbrite for their first ever Saturday morning Yoga & Salsa Social Dancing event! One can either choose to do just the yoga, or social OR best of both worlds! I had a flowy strengthening fun yoga class with Anya & enjoyed DJ Aldo's amazing music & dancing! I've started learning a bit of salsa on 2 and despite them being a salsa on 1 studio, they welcomed me so kindly! We all enjoyed dancing with each other, had met such fantabulous people with great vibes! I recommend this studio so0o much! I can only imagine how awesome their regular classes are!
Response: Omg, Kat, thank you SO much for the super kind words! This was the first time we tried this format and we’ll only be getting better! So glad you stopped by and we hope to see you again soon. We also offer classes on 2. Cheers, Silvia

Summer Brouwer: There’s a reason why they have 5 stars! I never had the luxury of attending dance classes. I just moved here cross country and wanted to try a new experience. I was very hesitant, and very nervous, but I bought the new student pass for $100. The pass allows you to attend unlimited group classes for the month. It’s about a week into the session and I am in love with dance! They have many different instructors and many different styles of dance. I felt at ease learning with other students of my skill level and the energy of my instructors helped me feel so comfortable as well. If you’re on the fence about whether you want to try it or not, GET OVER IT! I love it here and you will too!
Response: Wow, Summer! I have tears in my eyes after reading your review! It makes it all worth the hard work! Thank you so much! We are here to show people that dance heals and helps physically and emotionally. We are so happy you love dance now! Silvia

Reema Bhardwaj: Salsa with Silvia is THE PLACE TO BE. Whether you’re looking to improve your dancing, rent their beautiful studio for your private event, or bring your kids for an experience. You will leave feeling satisfied and happy that you took the step to come in. There is a reason this studio is the #1 Latin Dance studio in the DMV. You can feel the love that was put into the studio from starting out in just a basement to two studios! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The teachers are patient, understanding, and energetic. The adult dance classes are always so much fun and filled with great material you can take with you. They even allow videos to be taken so you can look back to review. And the owner Silvia, she is a boss lady. Very friendly, helpful, and fun. If you’re looking to have a great time with your friends, learn, teach your children dance, or have a private event, come here & don’t waste your time calling other studios!
Response: Much 💗 for you! Thank you so much for your support!

Darniesha Beach: Took my 2 year old to the babies dance class and the teacher was great. Very good with little ones and my daughter took to her immediately. The class was empty just 2 little ones including mine... but she still managed to fill the time and make it fun. Everything was very clean and location is nice if you want to make a day of it. My only complaint is the time; my daughter has to skip a nap to attend. She was super cranky so I don’t think we’ll be back until a different time slot is available or she no longer needs her afternoon nap. A class between 9&12 or at 5 would be cool.
Response: Thank you 💗 what time would work for you?

Melody Bowles: Everyone should go! We did the romantic kizumba class and it was amazing
Response: Much appreciated! We are so happy you liked the class! We can't wait to see you again soon!

Mia H: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueTook a private salsa lesson for 2 and it was AMAZING! Joffre was so kind and knowledgeable that he made learning to dance easy! Perfect for if you're looking to try something new or for a date night!
Response: Thank you so much, Mia! We are so glad you loved the lesson.

Nikki Mammano: Finally after some time, I feel ready to write this review. I took Silvia's salsa teacher training course back in 2019 with an excitement to take my dancing to the next level. I have been dancing salsa since 2014 and I wasn't sure if I wanted to actually take the next leap and teach yet, but I was curious to start building a teacher foundation. After the experience however, I realized it was a mistake. And now, I cannot recommend this studio. The course itself I think was the first time Silvia and David were hosting it, it was extremely disorganized and not thought out. Some of the material was okay, but they threw so much at us in a short amount of time (7 weeks) and expected us to be experts by the end without any support. Silvia is also one of the coldest and most unsupportive people I have ever met. For the last class, she told us we were having a "test." I remember the week before I asked her who we would be teaching and how I should prepare, she did not give me very much information. When I walked in the week, I expected we would be teaching the other trainees like we were the 6 weeks prior. Nope. She threw actual student volunteers at us without informing us or letting us prepare. For me, it was very nerve-racking. She placed me to go last and by the time it was my turn, there were more students in my class than the trainees before me, which made the experience even worse. During our feedback session at the end, with both her and David, Silvia looked me cold in the face and told me I was too insecure to be a teacher. Mind you, I paid a lot of $$$ to take this "teacher training," just to be torn down as a dancer. I suggest Silvia does NOT host a teacher training again. Also, there is a lot of great dancing in DC. While you can learn some great foundations here and some of the teachers are wonderful, I do suggest looking elsewhere to become an advanced dancer.
Response: Thank you for the honest, review Nikki. I apologize if we've hurt you in any way. Teaching indeed is nerve wracking any way you look at it so it takes a certain personality to be able to be a good teacher. Teachers are always presented with difficult situations and they have to know how to handle them whether they are ready or not. Part of the training was a personality test to see if people can handle situations like that. The goal of the training was to provide the knowledge as to where the information was, the rest was on the trainees to study and prepare. As with all other trainings. You are completely entitled to your opinion of course and again, I apologize. Most of the trainees ended up teaching classes at the studio and that's the only negative review we've received. My advise would be if you really want to be a teacher, you should keep trying and working at it because it takes really hard work and it's mostly on you, not so much on the training, anywhere you get it. I, for example have never had a formal training but I've worked incredibly hard on studying, preparing and practicing so I can be ready to teach. Cold is something I haven't been called just yet but if that's what you think of me, I cannot argue. Hundreds of our students may disagree with you and I am always open to meet and talk to any of them, which is how I built the largest Latin dance studio in the DMV. Again, best of luck Nikki and I am sorry it didn't work out. Regards, Silvia

Caoilfhionn Roche: I am a former student of Mario, Joffre, and Cat's classes, and Joffre's current dance partner and assistant of 2 years now. The Salsa with Silvia studio has been my home for 2 years, as it has been home to many others. Particularly considering the global pandemic that we have collectively gone through, I think that one of the greatest lessons the last year has taught us is that we are social beings, and we need community, which is what the studio has brought to everyone that has walked through the doors. I have spent majority of my weeks over the last 2 years at this studio - truly nonstop - and I have never felt anything other than respect, care, and professionalism from Silvia as a studio owner and Joffre as an instructor and partner. His classes and teams are a joyful, fun, safe space, where I, among others have learned and laughed together. I have continuously heard from people how Joffre's classes and practices are the highlights of their days (and mine as well). Through a global pandemic and beyond it, Joffre has been a constant for his classes and teams, always respectful and responsible, cultivating a safe space for people to come, from wherever someone's day is bringing them, and be their authentic selves. This has created nothing but a community filled with honest, kind, caring people, that I have encountered. This has been my continuous experience with SWS over the last 2 years. The bottom line is: Silvia, Joffre, and the entire SWS community is a wonderful place to be, and I truly encourage you to come and see and feel it for yourself. - Keelin
Response: Thank you, Keelin!

Margaret Houck: I have been taking classes at Salsa with Silvia for about 6 months now and I'm nothing but grateful for everything this studio has brought me! When I started I was recently out of college, new to DC, had zero dance background, and was nervous to be putting myself out there. But there was no need to be nervous because everyone at the studio provided such a welcoming, comforting, safe environment for me to learn and explore my new love for dancing. I've taken classes with multiple different instructors at SWS and have truly enjoyed them all! I tend to go to Joffre's classes multiple times per week and absolutely love them. He and his assistant, Keelin, provide such a fun, safe environment for everyone to learn and challenge themselves. I always feel welcomed in their space and am so thankful for all of the great experiences that they and everyone at SWS have given me. Can't wait to keep learning new moves, making new friends, and connecting with the salsa community through SWS :)
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words! It means a lot!

Zey: Salsa with Silvia is more than a dance studio. Lots of magic happens there. You’ve got all the basics- amazing instructors, good variety of classes in style and level, a professional business, and a safe and reliable environment. In addition, you learn how dancing is about much more than just moving your body. By joining the studio you enter a community, so you meet amazing people and make new friends. The owner Silvia is always engaged and she is always willing to help. I have been going to the studio for about 2 years now, and the instructor I have taken the most number of classes with is Joffre. I always had a thing for salsa, but he is the one who really made me love it. Joffre is technically very competent, and he is also a great teacher (which is not always a given). He is also a warm and genuine person, who is very open to feedback. And as a bonus, he has the best taste in music, I learned the best songs/ artists I know from him. In short, if you are interested in entering the world of latin dancing, SWS is the place for you!
Response: Wow! ❤️ Thank you! We love our students so much! So happy that you are part of our community! People like you are the reason for us to fight and survive last year! Thank you!

salsa underground dc: what do users think?

Keva P: Salsa Underground has the best on 2 salsa experience in the area! They play vinyl and take pride in spinning music you won't likely hear other DJs playing. You will find friendly faces and awesome dancers!

Mark Herring: This is hands down the best place to dance Salsa in the DC metro area. Beautiful open well kept dance studio playing mostly Salsa music. The DJs are Mambo Soul and Dola and they are thee best in DC. Friendly environment, cover is $12, water bottles are $2 and event goes from 5pm to 10pm every 1st and 3rd Sunday. Playground for all levels of dancers including the best in DC.

Brandon Lawrence: Spent my last night in MD here for a black party. It was so welcoming and fun!

Jorge Guzmán: Always a good place to dance. Very friendly environment and great music.

Milagro D: Best salsa venue in the DC metro area

Sheila Brown: Excellent old school salsa!

Erik Lima: I went to this establishment on on the morning of 6/13/21. I used to frequent this place a lot in 2016-2018. There was no line, got my ID checked, and gave my $20 cover fee. Upon entering and going down the stairs, it seemed over capacity. You could barely move through the crowd of people. It wasn't even 10 minutes in, and 3 fights had broken out, the fire alarm starts ringing. I tell myself I'm getting out of here, so I go upstairs and I tell the lady, look I just got here and all these things are going on, can I please get my money back? She has the audacity to claim I was there for over 30 minutes and tries to get the security to kick me out. I stay. Within minutes the fire department shows up because of the fire alarm. But then it got me thinking had it been a real fire, it would've been a disaster. Not only were they over capacity, which I believe was just for them to make up for all their losses from covid, but the security was so sparse for them to really secure the area. This combination will eventually lead to a very bad outcome in the future. Moreover, this place should get shut down, and or new safety guidelines/regulations should be set in place and enforced. This is a place I will no longer be setting foot in. Also, the 2nd picture is the people running out when the FD showed up.

Joaquin Perez: The bouncers are rude, especially the woman in the front who can’t take confrontation. They had us waiting for an hour in the rain- just to charge us even though we were in the guest list. Don’t recommend and they are racist as well. They use a lot of racial micro aggressions towards Latinos.

Saul: Literally this place is filled with a bunch of high school kids who dresses in Adidas or Nike track suit and yet they advertise with half naked women.. They’ll overpack this club (good luck during a fire). Bartender charged me for 5 shots when I only ordered 1 lol Big L on this place. Save yourself the headache and go to cafe.

ana montiel: if you are planning to go to this spot WE don"t recommend this spot. its whack like crack, like whitney houston, old and ugly. security think they fbi or cia with low caps jajajajaja. sooo if any one looking to hang out, drink and have fun. This spot is the worst, go up the street.

TMF1 Productions: Bravo! Bravo! is more than just a Late Night Club! It's also an GREAT "Afterwork Spot" with lots of seating space and reasonably priced Happy Hour Food and Drink offerings. There are also LIVE DJs each week on Thursday and Friday with NO COVER CHARGE!!!

Alejandro Andrade: Music was great and the crowd as well. A couple of security people are rude and on power trips, same with the bartenders. I dealt with two male bartenders, once at the entrance was nice, the other one on the way to the bathroom was an a$$hole.

Nancy Montiel: I was in the restroom and security was trynna kick me out for being in the bathroom….. and when we stuck up for ourselves they kicked us out. RUDE ASSSSS SECURITY DONT RECOMMEND

Weiming Huynh: Great $5 happy hour deal from 4-8. It's a great place to chill when there are issues on the Metro. Why not grab a drink and some grub and wait for the crowd to clear up. This place has cheap drinks and the food is good enough. It's all good.

J F: Seems like a fun place, but experience soured by power trip bouncers out front and near the restroom that treat guests rudely. Cafe Citron down the street has friendlier bouncers if you care about that kind of thing.

Brianna Fremont: This place is not it. Waited in a long line for nothing. Their cover charges do not make sense. If you are a guy and you have dress shorts on you will get charged double on top of whatever cover charge they choose. Also, if you are someone who has a vape pen of any sort they will throw it in a covid infested bucket that is sitting on the ground, over flowing of 1,000 other pens but don’t worry you can pick it up when you leave.

DC9 Nightclub: what do users think?

grant rohland: I like going to concerts here the place has a good vibe and nice staff, the only issue I have is the way it's laid out is a bit strange the merch table is right in front of the door so you get people blocking the door trying to get merch. It's a small complaint but overall this is a good spot to go see music I really enjoyed it.

John T: This dive bar is awesome! In the summer you can relax on the 3rd fl rooftop and laugh at everyone waiting in line for the "popular" bar across the street. In the winter they have small indi bands on the second floor. Great concert space. Staff has seen it all so be respectful!

Katelyn Stenger: Intimate venue and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend if you can! The tickets were shockingly affordable and the folks at the front actually checked vaccination and ID. Much appreciated.

Jessica Strahin: Went there for a small intimate concert. Loved the venue and the staff!!

Robert Cardoni: Great intimate show space to see smaller up and coming bands ... only hold about 150 people - so sold out shows are tight. Staff is super friendly. Beer is cold. Sound is good. What more could a music fan ask for Check set times though. Sometime shows are early with dance parties afterwards ...

Omny Miranda Martone: I love DC9. We go here regularly. The bottom floor is a typical indoor bar, the second floor is for dancing, and the top floor is a rooftop bar. Definitely recommend.

Stacey Brooks: Little but intimate. TTNG played twice here and it was a laid back experience. Bar on every level, food always smells great, bands perform on the second level without it being over crowded! Great place to rock!

Joe Nicol: always a good time, the best unofficial gay bar in DC — great acts, cool space

Chris B: 150 person capacity venue means you can get up close to the bands but shows usually end pretty early and the beer list is not impressive by any means. The food is pretty good tho, and be sure to get their garlic fries as a side to whatever you order.

Daniel Cox: Great place for live music. It is a really small and intimate venue which makes for a much better experience. Bouncer was really nice, drinks are averagely priced, and overall a good experience. Would come to a show here again.

Ultrabar: what do users think?

Angela Mendoza: I went to ultra bar recently and had a much better experience than before COVID. This club has really stepped it up, it’s not over crowded by 18+ and the music has an actually updated set. I love that I can choose the music I want to hear based on the floor. Be sure to visit them all to get the full experience and if you want a really good time you might as well get a table, they have decent bottle pricing for the area. Bottle girls there are really nice, we had Katie and she made sure we had fun.

Fernando Bernardus ABT: Love Ultrabar! Great music and atmosphere throughout the multiple levels of the club. The mixed drinks and their first-rate line of imported beers are top notch and fairly priced, considering the fact that this establishment is located in the heart of the nation’s capital. Getting a table is extremely affordable and I would recommend it if you come with a big group of friends. Security is on point inside and outside the club. It’s simply the best 18+ club in DC. Special thanks to Jimmy, Giuseppe, Galen, for always providing my friends and me with courteous customer service.

Alexander Zacapa Centenario: Ultrabar happens to be among the best clubs to party in DC. The establishment has four floors with different music genres played by talented DJs, and the overall atmosphere is always entertaining. My friends and I have enjoyed table service on multiple occasions and we’ve always had a fun time. The customer service from Jimmy Mar is absolutely exceptional, I consider him a tremendous asset to Ultrabar for many reasons, as well as the entire staff who are always very welcoming, friendly, and professional. This place also has outstanding security inside and outside the club in order to ensure the safety of its patrons. It is well situated near the Verizon Center and Constitution Avenue. Check out their pictures online showing how crowded and lit this place is. It is truly amazing on so many levels. Just make sure to look your best by following their dress code. Be ready to have a good time! In conclusion, I strongly recommend Ultrabar to anyone looking to have an enjoyable night out.

Alex Gonzalez: Perfect place for those who want a bit of everything. Sometimes I get tired of hearing the same type of music so it’s nice to be able to just switch floors to get a different atmosphere instead of having to go to completely different clubs and wait in line again. It gets packed but the bartenders are really friendly so they make the wait for a drink enjoyable

Angel Long: Went there Saturday for one of my buddies birthday. The stairs are a killer but the top floor is jumping. VIP service the way to go the floor was a bit crowded for me. Our waitress took care of us she was cool and brought girls to our table.

Brittney Vo: Always a good time when you come here! I’ve always had a good night coming to ultra. The music is up to date and I love the variety they have. Each floor is such a different vibe and my favorite are the latin and hip hop floors.

Tianna Chantel: This club is super cool! It has multiple floors and they each play different music so there’s a vibe for everyone! The service is fast and all of the bartenders are hot! Highly recommend!

P E: This 5 star review could not be more merited after a very busy Halloween Saturday night. The measure of an establishment is not only how well it executes its positive experience but also how it reacts when it gets something wrong. And we had one BIG hiccup. We had ordered tables and bottle service beforehand. Arrived around 11:30. The door staff were not the most cheerful but they're probably cold and dealing with a lot of drunk people so they have very little patience. All the different lines were very disorganized as well. Once we got in, my party were taken straight to our main floor table and introduced to Val. She was VERY happy and VERY cheerful and a wonderful and attentive server. There was a security staffer in the tables area at that time. We had some drinks, danced a little and settled in. After about 45 minutes we decided to leave our area to explore the other floors. Each has different music and a different vibe and it's a treat to wander and explore! And bring cash so you can tip the bathroom staffer. I was very embarrassed that I did not have any cash on me to say thank you to him. We wandered and danced for about 45 minutes. When we came back, we found a large group of ladies at our table and in our section. There was no security guard to be seen anywhere. We shooed them away and although they protested and argued with us for a bit they did eventually move away. That was when we discovered they had drunk our entire bottle of champagne and started in on our two liquor bottles having had approximately another 25% of each. We were appalled and shocked. We took the situation up with Val and she quickly gave us another bottle of champagne. However she didn't really know what to do about the liquor. We approved the check but mentioned that we would have to follow up with someone the next day about the situation. A few minutes later a staffer (we assume some kind of manager) came to us with another full bottle of liquor with their compliments. We were not expecting it and we were very grateful. Suffice to say, we were entirely satisfied with their handling of the situation and they turned the situation around completely for us. We had a wonderful rest of the evening and are eagerly looking forward to returning in the future. Val and the team at Ultrabar completely executed the right moves even when things went wrong. Major shout out to her. She made what could have been a bad review into a stellar customer service experience. We cannot recommend Ultrabar enough. Ps. They did acknowledge that there should have been a security staffer there keeping guard and mentioned that there usually is. Tips: If you have table service and everyone wishes to leave the table, GIVE YOUR BOTTLES TO THE BOTTLE SERVICE SERVER. Even if there is a security staffer there, they may be called away to deal with another situation.

Stephanie Trelles: I came to visit Washington DC for the weekend for Easter. My husband and I went to Ultrabar waiting in line for a little over 30 minutes just to get to the door and staff checking ID told my husband he was not allowed in because he had sneakers on. When I asked how come if every other male there had sneakers on and it was never mentioned in the dress code online. He responded very rudely and very unprofessional. The experience would have been a lot better if staff would have treated us fairly. I would think twice about attending this nightclub.

Xinyi Yin: The atmosphere, drinks, and music are great! They have a variety of different music on each floor, so you will not get bored of the place. Love the bartenders, they are super friendly and fun to talk to.

Club Timehri: what do users think?

K A: My first experience at Club Timehri was a good one. It’s a totally different vibe for me. But I must say the music was so good that I couldn’t help but dance. Overall, I had a great time. First time here and I shall definitely revisit. I highly recommend if you want to have a feel of the Caribbean night life! Good Service ✅ Good Vibes ✅ Very Friendly And Courteous Staff✅ 🚻Restroom
Response: Thank you for your review KA! We love new people trying out our venue and especially love it when you had a great time. Look forward to you visiting again. One LoVe!

Ileri Ogunfiditimi, Lifestyle Entrepreneur: Positive island and multicultural vibes in the city! The ONLY authentic Caribbean dancehall club left in DC! (If you remember "Old DC" and Georgia Ave Caribbean Carnival, you know what I'm talking about). DJ spins Soca, Reggae, Afrobeat, Reggaeton, and international music. Bartenders, owners, and staff are friendly and customer service top notch. The patrons get down too! No "wall flowers" at this spot. 😁 ALWAYS a great experience at Timehri.
Response: Thank you! It means a lot to us when a customer who knows the scene and what DC has to offer in our genre writes us a review like yours. Much appreciated. We look forward to entertaining you in the future. One LoVe!

Green Roses: I visited becoz of the good reviews. True, its wonderful. Nice vibe. Music was more soca. I hope more reagge can be played since Timehri is the home of Reagge. The bartenders were grooving like no joke. They were fast in getting the drink orders. The crowd was on fire-grooving like oh my. Music was kainda too loud for me, so I stepped away from the main floor. Thumps up. Well done Timehri. Good job. I will return with more pple.
Response: Thank you for visiting! We love to hear our guests enjoyed themselves. We try to keep a nice mix and usually it’s always more Reggae than soca so the DJ must have had some fans in his ear. Please check us out again when you’re in the neighborhood. One LoVe!

Samuel Ondieki: The music was good, the bartenders, security and owners were very nice and professional. Would most def visit again and recommend to any looking to have a lit night in DC

Celine Aka-Koffi: Visiting DC from New York, we came to Club Timehri two nights in a row. The Carribean music selection is so good. Drinks are good as well. There is a $10 cash only cover charge per person to get in.
Response: Thank you for visiting! Happy to hear you enjoyed yourself and we look forwarding to entertaining you on your next trip to the city. One LoVe!

Shaneka Boothe: The owner and the workers here are wonderful omg I enjoyed it so much I came here two nights back to back they took real good care of us from the dj to the bartender to the owner they made sure we enjoyed our night and made sure we was safe Johnny your great your a real humble and we appreciate you thank you and your employees for the wonderful care and customer services you guys provided Washington DC doesn’t owe us anything thanks to you and your wonderful employees #yournewfloridafriends
Response: Shaneka, we enjoyed having you and the crew. You are welcome at Timehri every time you visit the city. Dont forget to check in on us on IG @clubtimehri. Until the next time…. One LoVe!

Imani Thibou: My experience is usually great here but on NYE I went and the music was way too loud, my ears were ringing for days afterwards. With it being such a small space it made the experience unenjoyable
Response: Hi Imani, we are very sorry to hear this and I will be honest, we had a new processor installed the day before and had some issues properly tuning the system. We have since resolved the issue and would love you to give us another try. Also please ask for a manager and allow us to treat you for giving us another chance. Thank you, Mgmt.

Pharaoh Jonez: Let me tell you buddy. I was out one night bored and stumbled on this place. I got so drunk here that I ended up having the best time of my adult life. They are EXTREMELY good at mixing drinks. I mean to the point where my Long Island tasted like a sweet tea but hit like 5 shots of Henny. The bar tenders are hilarious, and it wasn’t the liquor laughing. They legit must be trained in comedy. Lastly some fine woman bit me on my back and I think I found true that night. But overall this place is a definite YES in my book.
Response: Pharaoh, this made our day! When our customers have a great time it makes us appreciate all we do to facilitate the good times and great memories created. Thank you stumbling by and definitely let us know the next time you visit. One LoVe!

Hector Sobers: If you love reggae music like me this club is the place to be on Thursday,Friday and Saturday. And to me it has the cheapest drinks in DC you wouldn't regret the visit and the customer service is great always a friendly crowd
Response: Love it when our customers enjoyed the music, and lets not forget the drinks. Hope you visit us again soon. One Love!

Waverly Renee: Good mix of Reggae Caribbean hip-hop music. Parking it's pretty bad at night. Drinks are reasonable price and there is a cover charge.
Response: Thanks for visiting. Parking is a struggle, and usually easier the earlier you arrive. We also only charge a cover on Friday and Saturday nights after 11 PM. Thank you. Mgmt

THE SALSA ROOM: what do users think?

Yahanna B: F••k this place. I’ve NEVER been treated so BADLY in my life. Security took my jacket, car/house keys & phone from our reserved table; I begged them to return my things but the security men all treated me very aggressively! They ran away from me & kicked me out club, in the BLISTERING cold!! I couldn’t go home or call the police! I was mortified and crying for help, no one cared to help! After about an hour of walking aimlessly, to find help, and eventually get home (since all of my items were taken by security) a tall heavyset, dark skinned African American security guard drove up to me and dangled my items in front of me, as if I were some sort of criminal. All he had to do was look at my ID but they were treating me like I stole something. I can’t believe this happened to me!! I’ve never been treated so bad in my life.

Munky Luv: Upside: A LOT OF FUN! The person teaching the dances was upbeat, fun, and interacted with everyone! The dancing during and after was non-stop! Everyone was respectful (no one was pushy or handsy), the staff for the most part is attentive. The downside: The staff's uniforms are degrading and distasteful. The way the staff is forced to dressed is disgusting. Security is REALLY aggressive, I've never been yelled at before for waiting to enter a building like I had twice that night (once outside as I waited for the rest of my party to catch up, and again before going inside, waiting for the person with the ticket to give to the 'bouncer'). The drinks are WAY WAY WAY WAY overpriced! (for example: I ordered 2 shots of Tito's vodka - total $38! The price of a handle - A HANDLE of Tito's is $36!) Anyway - would I go again - absolutely! Will I drink - definitely not!

MO. B: I went to the Salsa Club on a Friday and it was a great experience. I got tickets off Eventbrite it was free entry before 11pm. It was a group of 4. When we got in the door and checked in we were offered a table for $40 which was a great price. Once we got in the set up was very airy and they had a very good set up of tables and couches. One thing I liked was at the tables they had electronic menus as well. Once we got our drinks the general manager Damien actually came by and offered us a bigger seating arrangement with no extra charge. Which we greatly appreciated and it was just great customer service after the night we had prior to coming there. The staff was friendly and the people there were great. Everyone just wanted to have a good time everyone was smiling it was just great to be out. The music was great as well. I went to the salsa club when you were located in arlington and I like this set up better. I will definitely be back! Thank you for a great experience.

Sharli Patel: We were treated really well by the bouncers at entry and exit. The instructor was amazing, she built upon each step gradually and it made sense compared to other classes I've taken. The music was super loud but my only negative was we think the alcohol in the bottles is actually cheap, low tier stuff. We both felt really sick the next day after only 2 drinks. They also didn't have limes and offered simple stuff. We'll definitely go again but we'll drink ahead l beforehand.

Niesha Anderson: Came here for the first time for the salsa class. My group and I got a table and I requested a cup of water from the sever. The server returned and said they don’t give cups a water. I was so confused because a place that serves alcohol should never deny a person water. I asked to speak with the manager John and he said if I don’t like it I can leave. I have never in my life experienced that type of treatment. I do not recommend this place. They need management that has more customer service skills.

Cheli: Watch your tabs! I’ve been charged for drinks and tips that I did not authorize. My friends and I are often ignored by the women bartenders who would rather serve men first. Annoying. Getting a table here is a joke too. My party and I never got through even half our bottle because our server was never there! It got to a point that we had to split up and look for her, and then also call the manager. Arrogant people, terrible customer service, and ridiculously overpriced. Go somewhere else.

Baby Moretta Jackson: The place used to be a classy place grown and sexy folks could go have a nice dance. Last night I was disgusted when my waitress walked up to us in a thong body suit and no pants. PUT SOME PANTS ON! I’m never going back to this sleazy trashy whole again.

Jorge Del Carpio Arispe: This place is wack. Won’t give water without paying $6. My friend said a woman in the bathroom wouldn’t give her soap unless she paid her a tip. Are you kidding me? Soap? In a pandemic? What a stain on northern VA this place is. Also, if we came with a partner, let us learn the class with our partner.

Yari: I loved it. Went with my husband (date night) was so much fun. Ladys free till 11. Good security. Learning classes (for fun) on the dance floor with instructor around 9ish was bachata night last night. Everyone was nice. Drinks were a little high (2 drinks for 25$) ....but overall just loved it.... 👍😊

ibattlemike: I paid for reservations. Yet I have to wait in a line that isn't moving...as if we needed to feel special for eventually being allowed in. The assistant manager fixed a small issue we had at first with our reservation. 5 stars overall due to great environment inside.

Decades DC: what do users think?

Alex Vlad: I’ve been coming to this spot for years now, and it never fails to deliver that one-of- a kind retro timeless experience. The floors are all unique with their own theme— from 2000s to 90s to hip-hop/ and an EDM rooftop, music and DJs are always on point, and the staff and security are always very friendly and helpful. The venue is clean and hand sanitizer stations are offered; the staff wears masks, and considering we are in hard times with COVID im happy I can still enjoy clubbing, and a night out with friends safely. Overall, I would highly recommend Decades to anyone as its gives you a little bit of everything and more!

Kim & Ben: We were a little nervous to visit decades after reading the reviews, but we ended up going for a bit to celebrate a friend’s birthday and actually had a great time! The line to enter was long, but moved quickly. They did a thorough check point where they pat you down, check bags and check jacket pockets. You get carded at the door and have to pay a $20 cover if you don’t have a VIP pass. We all got the free VIP pass off their website and, so we didn’t have to pay the cover fee. Once inside, you can visit each floor of the club to get a different music experience. The top floor was the most crowded, and it was very hot, but our group still had a good time dancing. One of the middle floors (I think it was the 90’s floor) was less crowded, and you could feel the air conditioning, so we stayed there most of the time. Our friends said the bartenders were nice, and we didn’t have any negative experiences with bouncers either. We had a ton of fun at Decades and would love to visit again sometime! If you haven’t been, I’d stop by and give it a try!

Itzel Trejo: I used to love this place but friends and I went to a day party after Sunday brunch and saw a rat right on the rooftop bar. We notified staff and they did not care. We decided to leave because the rat was right next to the bottles so we felt uncomfortable getting drinks. Staff response was that we live in a city and rats are everywhere and although I understand there’s still expectations when it comes to rats near what costumers consume. I would have expected a better costumer service response. Go at your own risk.

Niyah Baptiste: I would definitely recommend, me and my sisters celebrated our birthday here and it was on point!! Music was amazing drinks were decent priced. I’d definitely suggest getting there early so you don’t get caught in the rush of people tryna get to the “good”floors. It was definitely the vibe 10/10 totally going back.

Ali Hamza Dar: I have the worst experience in this club. First we almost spend over 1500 on Thursday night on my friend birthday. Towards the end of it I wanted to use the bathroom and this one security guy did not let me use the bathroom. After I insist I really need to use it badly than he told me that if I give him 100 dollar and the other security guy 100 then he will let me use the bathroom. What a worst service is that. I ask him who is the owner of this place let me speak to him and he refuses me and told me get out of here. Is this how you treat with the customer. It was so terrible. There many other people standing and watching this incident.
Response: Hey Ali – Thank you for your feedback. Could you please send us an email to info@decadesdc.com regarding this matter, so we can further look into it.

Ahmad AL Jaloudi96: I’d like to give an accurate opinion and with full transparency. The place is very boring since the Halloween event until these days. The entry fee is 20 dollars, it must be reduced to 10 dollars because the place is not worthy now adays and there is no respect for the customer, the security workers are very rude, the place is not clean ,the pool table is in poor condition and the prices fluctuate every weekend, the price varies, there is no credibility.. I didn't want to talk about this, because every week I was saying that the situation would get better, but to no avail. You should notice this, because the customers are gradually declining. Please pay attention to these notes. Today was my last visit to the place and I could not stand staying for more than an hour and 45 minutes. I will not go back again if these comments are not considered.
Response: Hey Ahmad we appreciate your feedback. VIP passes are offered online on our site to offer our guests free entry all night on Fridays, and until midnight on Saturday nights. We are fully transparent on our cover charges, which have been consistent since we re-opened June 11. Our prime responsibility is the health and safety of our employees and our customers -- we've taken additional steps and are punctual with our cleaning crew about disinfecting and cleaning our venue prior. If you'd like to follow up on this matter please feel free to text us at 202.650.7326-- thank you and we hope you give us another visit in the near future.

Deanna Joan: You’ll have a good time, but be prepared to spend a lot of money! $20 cover charge and pricey drinks. But it’s spacious and clean, it doesn’t get too crowded, and they play some GREAT throwback music. Pick your battles!

Steven Fernando: Overpriced and crowded. Rude staff. Was being charged $14 for Coronas and other cheap beer pre covid, can only imagine what it’s like now. Paying that much for drinks youd atleast expect to be treated with some respect
Response: Hey Steven! Thank you for your honest feedback. Our drink prices match to those of our competitors in the area. Check out our social media for any ongoing promotions we currently have such as the $4 Budlight, $8 Absolut Mixed Drinks on Friday nights. Thank you again, and we hope to have you back soon!

Drew Inge: If you’re an LGBTQ person do NOT come here. First of all, aside from the fact that this bar is not lgbt friendly it’s absolutely disgusting. The first floor of decades smells like a portopotty. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced compared to any other comparable “club” in DC. The cover is $20 which would be fine if it had any redeemable qualities worth the cover. As far as it being not LGBTQ friendly, the staff is not trained on how to handle LGBTQ people, the bathrooms are labeled All Gender but they have staff guarding them(even though they are single stall) allowing only females into one and “men”(those they deem visible men) into the room with only urinals available(on the rooftop) My personal experience on the rooftop after entering the “all gender” restroom was I was pulled out by the staff and then told I was not allowed to use that facility and I could enter the mens room because that room was for women only. I politely informed them I did not want to use the room with the urinals and the straight men and was then yelled at by security and told that I had no choice. IF YOU ADVERTISE ALL GENDER RESTROOMS THEN YOU STAND BY THAT STATEMENT. Will not return after this. I’ve visited numerous times and had multiple bad experiences but returned because I have so many straight friends who visit and want to experience different decades of music. If you want to experience the cliche of every decade and it be absolutely horrible then by all means please visit Decades DC but I’d spend my money at other establishments that cater to their clients much better; lgbtq or not.
Response: Hey Drew thank you for your honest feedback. We can assure you that we value and respect all people regardless of their race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual-orientation. Please email us at info@decadesdc.com regarding this matter, and a manager will be in contact with you.

Sophie Wophie: Me and my friends used to love to come to decades but each time we get some sort of mistreatment. The guards are rude and RACIST. One time one of the guard told us ‘this ain’t your s**t, when we try to get to our VIP table. Ever time we go there it feels like they assume just because we’re black we can’t afford VIP. I’m tired of this racist treatment, I will take my money somewhere where it’s appreciated.

Eighteenth Street Lounge: what do users think?

Love Lacy: Been here several times before. Great to see the transformation into the Bacardi Rum Room. I love the vintage feel of it. Lots of modern hacks but it gives you vibes of a time that has passed.

Le Mont Bennett (Mr Monte): As I topped the stairs I was transported to a magical space, Victorian parlor meets speak easy, with a few sprinkles of rave. The vibe was chill and but energetic, like meeting friends one has not seen in awhile. I met new people and had my soul filled with good music.

Kathryn Wheeler: Love this place. The wood floors vibrate to the music. They have a variety of genres being played live and by DJ simultaneously in different rooms so you can flow from vibe to vibe and feel like you're club crawling without leaving the building. The crowd is late 20s-30s and a bit more sophisticated/professional than other venues in the area, without being pretentious. The drinks aren't cheap, but I feel that the quality of entertainment is worth paying a little extra for. I make it a point to stop in for a little dancing whenever I'm in DC.

Ken's Painting & Handyman Svcs Tyson: Dance music scene at its finest. ESL has one of the best vibes of any venue anywhere. The music talent is fantastic. It's the birthplace of Thievery Corporation after all. House DJs, Trip-Hop, Downtempo, Live Jazz & Latin fusion most notably come to mind. Contributing to the good vibes is that it's a townhouse converted into a lounge/club so there's several different rooms to explore. Another bonus is that there's hardly any douchey-ness to the crowd at all.

Nicolas M. Aiello: The name "lounge" is very misleading for the venue; this place doesn't resemble any lounge I've been to. There's very, very limited seating. And the music played by DJs on every level is 'club-loud' in volume. Don't expect a relaxed environment, or the ability to sit with a drink and have a conversation. All in all, it's still a fun atmosphere. And the live jazz was awesome! It's just not at all what we were expecting, hence 4 instead of 5 stars

Will Sullivan: My favorite spot in DC. I love the different rooms and vibes in each. From live bands, DJ’s, an outdoor bar, to a nice relaxing lounge; this place has it all. I heard the owners are pretty cool too 🤙

Cary Owsley: Sweet night spot in downtown DC. There are four separate dancefloors that all place different music. On the top floor, they had a live jazz band playing as well. Reasonably priced drinks and a coat check as well. Keep in mind there is a $10 cover charge after 11.

Sharde McQueen: Loved it!!! Everything was Fabulous drinks 🍸 people and vibes! The music was definitely a delight all the varieties were amazing 😉 will return! Our server was excellent and the atmosphere couldn’t have been better !

Karol Machacek: Just a great party place...even if it was a bit "smelly" today. Those who'v been here today...know what I am talking about ;-)

Ella T: Incredible bar. Beautiful, smells great, and adorable bartenders. I wish I lived here. You should come and visit for sure

Zeba Bar: what do users think?

Murtaza Bohra: I've been to this place numerous times. If you're keeping a tab open, be vary of accidental charges. But the bartenders, shisha, food, and vibes are fantastic. Shisha lasts a couple of hours, best happy hour ever and great atmosphere. Check out the upper back patio for sure.

Philip Wilson: I've been here a few times and I gotta say - it's great. During the summer it's nice to come thru here and have a frozen drink. Or during the winter to have a drink and snacks for happy hour. They have decent specials on happy hour, and they've got consistently good hookah.. it's never burning my throat or too fast. The service is good. They have a small staff but they're efficient and attentive.

Tommy Keirnan: Good vibes and great drinks. Place would be much better if the sound system had some bass tho. We need good beats!

aaa2782: Bartender sprayed disinfectant to clean table while open drinks were nearby... also tried to get a refill and was ignored until I got someone elses attention... passive aggressive...good prices

Dominique Harvin: Enjoyed celebrating my friend Bday. Drinks were nicely made and the DJ kept the party going with a variety of music genres.

Christobal Urquiaga: The bar offers great deals, the vibe is great and attractive hookah is baller. Nice lil spot

Shelby Funes: Good choice if you want a couple drinks and meet local people.Very nice service, the staff is really cool people.

Maggie Cha: Great prices Amazing bartender, Felix ❤ Hookah and service is great Awesome happy hour!!! My go to spot ❤❤

The Motivator Williams: Best local chill spot in Columbia Heights. Best happy hour and bar food.

Whitney “Bobby” Caldwell: Make sure you pay attention to this one bro. My first impression was like whoah, but then it got like aggh yeah, like quickly. Definitely wish I hadn't found the exit
