Biff Corning: The CertaPro crew did an excellent job in doing staining and carpentry work on our pergola, screened in porch, and deck floor. They were incredibly precise in their work, extremely clean and neat and they took the quality of the service and work they did very seriously. With weather delays and all, they kept in communication with us regarding their thoughts on what made sense for schedule to insure that the work was done properly and looked the best it could. CJ: Walls, floors and doors!!! The most dedicated, fast working, well priced and high quality painters going. Mario is European and extremely dedicated professional, he loves what he does and that makes the difference. I found the service through a quick google search as I just moved to del ray, so I got lucky. It has taken me a while to write this review as I usually only make the effort when the service is extremely good or bad. This was extremely good. Repainted my condo completely in 1-2 days. Finish was incredible and listened to what I wanted and asked me the right questions. The best part was the recommendation to repair the front door for character, a great finish you can still see the wood grains. The floor was also exceptional finish. See before and after. 10/10

Michael Sharp: Painted master bedroom and great room. Mario and his team are extremely knowledgable, professional and pay attention to the details. I compared Brunga Bros estimate to 3 other contractors. Brunga Bros was not the cheapest, but I believe they were the best value based on the quality of workmanship. In addition, Brunga Bros did not underestimate the time to complete the job. Brunga Bros estimated two days and completed the job in two days. Brunga Bros is now my go to painter. Highest recommendation if you want an honest/quality painter.

Emily Brown: We hired Mario to paint the exterior of our home, which is original brick and siding from an addition. Mario is a true professional who answered all of my many questions and wanted to make sure I was comfortable with all the details of the project. Thomas Flanagan: We had a project we wanted completed for a long time- getting recessed lights put in the main room and bedroom. Klappenberger & Son, and Daniel and his team, were amazing! We contacted him for a quote for the job and we promptly had Daniel over who sketched up an estimate of the project. We had to put it on hold until we got our schedules and finances in order before starting and Daniel was flexible. When we were ready to go, we were contacted with times that the electrician would be working. The electrician, Paul, was so accommodating, took EXTRA care to ensure that the plans were exactly as we wanted them, and diligently did his work. He checked in to make sure things were looking good from our end and he always cleaned up at the end of the day. The crew that came to repair the walls and repaint were great. In only a day they patched up the holes and got it looking like nothing had happened. All in all, our experience with Daniel and his team exceeded all our expectations. They are prompt, they listened to our needs, and did the job very professionally. We would recommend them to anyone who has a project they need done! Services: Drywall repair , Interior painting
Joseph Corridore: Klappenberger & Son did a fantastic job bringing our historic Victorian home back to life! We live in a small condo building that had experienced many years of neglect, and the paint was badly peeling on brick, limestone, wood and sheet metal surfaces. Klappenberger & Son took the time to prep all surfaces properly to ensure that the finished coats of paint would last, and they worked with us closely to focus on the critical areas of the building that needed the most help, and those that would be visible from the street. As a professional architect, my expectations of a contractor’s attention to detail are very high, and Klappenberger & Son was able to deliver excellent results that met that high bar. Daniel Tucker and his team of painters were great to work with, and Daniel was very responsive throughout the estimating, bidding, and painting process. He was very involved for a company owner, and his ability to effectively and honestly communicate was one of the primary reasons that we trusted Klappenberger & Son with our home. Klappenberger & Son took great pride in their work, and it shows in the results, as we get so many compliments from neighbors. Rent Painters: what do users think?
Marina Z: We hired Rent Painters in fall 2021 to paint a house we recently purchased and do some drywall repair which I believe was subcontracted. Cost was a bit higher than others but they came highly recommended. There were some initial issues about cleaning up that were mostly resolved. I then reached out to the owner several times as I noticed some problems in the paint (cracking, peeling) and I have since noticed that some of the drywall may not have been taped correctly. Regardless of the general expectation of quality work, this work was guaranteed for a year in the contract. The owner did not respond to my multiple attempts to contact him and resolve the issues, which is why I am (belatedly) leaving this review. Rent Painters definitely beat every other company. It took several days to pick out the perfect color and shade for each wall and Chris Montoya was very helpful and even suggested ideas. Varinia Ballali: HIRE SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So rude and unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!! They were supposed to show up Monday at 8a for interior paint in 3 upstairs bedrooms before we move in. I have the carpet people coming after the painting was supposed to be done. So this is incredibly inconvenient. The owner Chris was so unresponsive and RUDE. I don't live at the property ,I live 15 min away. First he was going to give me a quote he said that day, he didn't contact me back for more than a week. Then he would me text and I would try to schedule the job. And that was really difficult. He was extremely unresponsive. All communications were through text messages, so I should of known this was not a legitimate business!!! 5 days out I texted about how much paint do I need to purchase for the job...NOTHING! So finally on Saturday I texted about maybe painting the kitchen cabinets...nothing. Sunday afternoon I texted again ....again nothing.!!!!!!!Finally at 745p I texted and said can you confirm to me the time. Since i had been getting silence from Chris, he, the business owner who wants my business and I am the client, BERATES me over text message saying that NO they won't show up because I asked to confirm the appointment. Seriously?!? I had not gotten a text back about how much paint I needed or to extend the job to my kitchen so of course I'm going to text to confirm the appointment time. Normally businesses send emails and appointment reminders. I understand you may be busy than don't take a job you cannot handle or hire someone to do your scheduling. And a grown man and business owner should not talk to anyone in the manner that you did to me! I have a 14 month old son I cannot just pack him up in the car at 730 in the morning and mess up our schedule. This company is SHADY!!!!!!!! I have all the text messages to prove it and I can post it if he wants to respond. I don't just write negative reviews for a business but I have never delt with someone so rude. Natalie Young: Rent Painters We needed to repaint the entire interior of our new home. We had three painting companies come out and give us quotes and Rent Painters came in at a competitive rate. We were also impressed by Chris’ knowledge and professionalism at the time of the quote, so ended up hiring them for the job. They did a great job painting the house. What we really, really appreciated was that Chris advised us against the color we had initially chosen for the trim in our hallways and living/dining room area. We are SO glad he talked us into a different color for the trim, which worked out so much better. Chris also asked his team to hold off on painting certain areas so that we could see the colors in real life before moving forward. That was a big help and led us to make some changes to our plan. Scott Murphy: Chris and his crew from Rent Painters were outstanding. They painted the entire exterior of our three-story, 2600 square foot home. Chris offered us the best price, and then went the extra mile to ensure our home got the highest quality paint job. The work involved extensive prep (power washing, scraping, caulking), different surfaces (wood trim, stucco, and cedar siding) and use of high ladders to reach soffits and fascia that were over 20 feet off the ground. Chris predicted how much our paint would cost with amazing accuracy, matched our colors perfectly and even found us a special primer to fix a paint peeling problem we had been experiencing for years. He also let us use our own carpenter to fix some rotting wood that his team found during the job. And his crew are all courteous, skilled, and incredibly hard working. From start to finish, Rent Painters was everything we'd hoped for and more. Now we feel almost like we live in a brand new house! Skyelar Riseling Haith: Rent painters did a great job painting the exterior of our home. We received multiple estimates and Rent Painters was by far the best price. But the quality of work did not decrease! Chris and his team worked on preparing all the surfaces: poeer washing entire house, scrapping metal awnings and sanding and caulking wood trim around windows and doors. Chris suggested and explained paints he would be using and even researched the best finishing to use on our exposed concrete porches. The crew was friendly, timely and worked through some pretty hot days. The job was interrupted a few times due to rain but they communicated when work would continue each time. Chris and his crew were very responsive to all the questions I had and at checking on and fixing an area we found the paint sprayer missed. Emma Coffey: ColorTech Building Renovations exceeded expectations... again! This is the third time we have used them for work in our offices and two office remodeling jobs. We just completed remodeling our Woodbridge office where they framed new door openings, new counter openings, demolition, repaired entire walls from equipment being removed. Their team was in there with halogen lights to make sure their drywall finishing had no imperfections. They worked through the weekend, evenings and early mornings to make sure we hit our target opening date, which was only a two (2) week window. Jonathan Roy: I got a number of quotes and references from ~6 different painting companies in the area. Ulysses and Good Fellas came in at a reasonable price and with good references, so I went with them for a full interior painting project of a 4 bedroom house. His office was well-organized and prompt with any questions related to scheduling or invoicing. His team showed up on time, did a very professional job, and completed the work within their estimated work window (5 days total on what they estimated would be 5 or 6 days). I have nothing but good things to say about Good Fellas, I will recommend them to my friends and family and would be happy to do business with them again!

Kourtney Nilsson: We were about to hire this company to do a major job for us, but the person was incredibly unprofessional. Examples include: 1. The inability to hit Reply All on email threads that included multiple stakeholders (he would only reply to my husband, not me). 2. When asked multiple times to hit Reply All, he would reply only to my husband and say 'No problem'. 3. When confronted about this very easy to follow instruction to keep everyone in the loop, he messaged my husband to say "With all the respect, if just a simple thing like that stress you out, I'm wondering how you can react with a major issue." Again, not keeping everyone in the loop, and also implying there were going to be major issues if we hire them. 4. To add to this, we asked multiple questions about the job, that they never felt the need to respond to. I don't understand contractors in this town. The lack of professionalism is incredible. Edit: This company's response! lol They did not deny the proposal. We terminated the relationship before signing the contract.

Michelle Verneman: LOOK NO FURTHER AND HIRE CERTAPRO TODAY!! We are so, so happy that we decided to hire CertaPro to paint our 20-foot walls. The crew showed up right on time and got the job done perfectly and thoroughly. They asked lots of questions to clarify exactly what we wanted painted and what we wanted patched. I wish I had taken before pictures to show their complete attention to detail. We had a filthy air intake vent that was too high for us to reach, and Luis and his crew not only cleaned it, but also painted it to blend in with the wall. They patched so many holes in the walls that were not even aware of as well as a crack in the ceiling and a dent in our window seat. Amy Borek: Jeff and his team were amazing. Jeff was able to come out and give me an estimate the day I called him. I selected Merrifield Paint & Design because they had the highest ratings on google. In Hindsight, totally deserved! He was super knowledgeable and spent a lot of time explaining how the job (wallpaper removal) would be performed. The job turned out better than expected! Don Hutzel: I will not use Merrifield Paint and Design again. They are sloppy with their billing and overcharged me. When I had them paint the interior of my house, the final bill was significantly over the original bid and I was even charged for the paint that I had purchased. When I had MP&D paint the exterior of the house, they once again overcharged me on the final bill and also charged me for the paint that purchased. I do have to admit the painters themselves were polite and did great work. However, I will not do business with MP&D again. Adam Goldsmith: After getting six estimates, we decided to go with Merrifield Paint & Design to paint the interior of our house largely because of Jeff. He was personable, gave us honest answers to our questions and even helped with some of our color selection. The crew did a great job with everything from patching numerous holes in walls, stripping wallpaper, and of course, painting everything. One of the things we appreciated most is how clean everything was during the process. They were extraordinarily careful to cover and move all furniture to avoid damage and to try to paint things in a manner to not interrupt your everyday living. Lindsay Grose: We hired Handy Manny’s painting at the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed! Their pricing is very reasonable and the job was done quickly and with a thorough cleanup. Sanding plus 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of paint on a large room was done in under 5 hours. The job was done in a room where we had removed wallpaper, so there was a significant amount of sanding and the team actually was able to remove some remaining pieces of wallpaper stuck under the blinds that we couldn’t figure out how to take off - which was very much appreciated. They also offered to touch up the ceiling, though unfortunately we didn’t have the paint on hand. As a result, I had to replace a good amount of drywall due to mold and paint the entire downstairs ceiling. Luis was very responsive and easy to work with on the phone, and quoted me a good price. His team was able to come out only a few days after I called. They got the job done in one day, repairing some other worn drywall patches in my ceiling while they were at it. Sarah Williams: Mike has worked on many projects for me over the years, including lots of painting, dry-walling, historic restoration (transoms, pocket doors, wood detailing), wood fence repair, installing floor tile, plaster repair, and many other odds and ends. He always approaches his work with an eye for detail, and the end result looks great. One note is that, while I would call Mike for any project, I recommend him particularly for historic restoration. I first met Mike because multiple other repairmen told me that could not fix my jammed, hundred-year-old sliding pocket doors without opening up the walls. Mike could, and it was beautiful!

Davinci's Museum Painting: what do users think?
Ramona Killings: Ken and his crew were outstanding! Ken responded quickly and come out to provide me with a quote the painting of the exterior of my home. His estimate was fair and they were able to start the job the same week. Andres was the point man in charge, and he gave me constant updates about the progress and also when we would need to unlock the windows and doors. The first day was all about power wash cleaning the wood on the outside. Once that was done they were able to complete the actual paint working just 3 days. I was impressed and I appreciate their hard work!
Mariane Jensen: I had the entire upper level of my home painted by Ken and his crew and the outcome was great! They arrived at 8am and immediately started to cover the furniture and floors. We didn't have a lot of furniture in the house because we had just moved in a few weeks ago. The team worked diligently throughout the day, and by 6pm they had put everything back the way it was when they arrived. I noticed that they used lights to inspect the walls for any imperfections and by the time the walls were painted thy looked like glass! It was really flawless, and I could tell that Ken has been doing this work for a long time. He and his team take pride in their work and I will definitely hire them in the future!

I contacted several painting companies and Ken was one of the first to respond. Ken was the only painter out of five who was able to completely describe the different painting options. We went in thinking that we needed to paint all of the ceilings, but in actuality he pointed out that the ceilings were clean and had recently been painted. Not painting the ceilings saved us a lot of money in the end. We ended up just painting the walls, doors, and trim. Ken was also able to start the job the day after we hired him which was important because our move-in date was so close. He had 7 painters working from 8am until 7pm, and they were able to finish everything in just 2 days! Our new place looks absolutely awesome! My home in McLean needed a complete exterior trim painting (3-story brick house with extensive trim and some siding)12 years after original construction and painting. (Touchup only had been done prior). Ken gave us an estimate with a more than fair price. After positive reference checks we gave him the job which he decided to do personally. It stretched out over three weeks with some weather delays, but mostly because Ken was meticulous. He first removed the screens power washed the entire house, then did a full two coats with great attention to detail. He power washed the screens and reinstalled them. I had seen their trucks downtown in the city and I wanted to reach out to see if they could provide me with an estimate for the painting of our 3 story single family home that was mainly stucco. Herbert came out on a weekend and he was able to see the scope of our work. We have been dealing with sections of the stucco falling apart. He told me about a special type of Sherwin Williams primer that was part of their marine division. He advised me that this would be the most durable primer that I should use for my exterior stucco. We also talked about some peeling issues that we were having with the wood trim. He spent a good half hour discussing the various options. He then printed out the estimate, and the price seemed very reasonable compared with some of the other quotes that I had received over the summer. I did my research and gave Herbert a call to schedule the job. They were able to start the power wash the very same week,and the preparation and priming took place a few days later. It took them about six days to finish everything, and now our house is looking fantastic. You can't even see the previous stucco damage!
Loretta Whitacre: Ken and his team are amazing! I had old popcorn ceilings and outdated wall colors in a condo I just bought. I contacted him and in his quiet, humble way, his team got it all taken care of on a great schedule and for a super competitive price. It looks incredible. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t have quality work at a reasonable cost in a reasonable time frame - it’s just not true because these guys did it and were friendly, patient, and flexible while they did it. I highly recommend DaVinci’s!!
Patrick Fernandez: Davinci's did a fantastic job on several rooms in my condo and Ken was very accommodating to working within my schedule and with a very quick turnaround time. Davinci's provided a thorough inspection of areas I was requesting to have painted beforehand and provided very reasonable estimates for the project. During the job, Ken was even willing to do a last minute touch-up to an area of some peeling paint in a hallway that I had forgot to point out during the initial walk-through. Ken took care of the area no problem, even though it wasn't part of the rooms I had originally noted for the estimate. I definitely recommend Davinci's for anyone looking for painters who are responsive to customers and who do high quality work for fair and reasonable prices.
Marcin Lira: We had purchased a new home in South Arlington a few weeks ago, and the place needed some serious rennovation work. I called these guys because they specialize in both drywall and painting. We had installed new track lighting in several of the ceilings, so there were a lot of holes that needed to be fixed and painted. We also needed to repaint most of the walls. Ken was able to come out right away to give us ab estimate, and he also helped us pick out colors. We hired this company because it was apparent that they had more experience than the other companies we spoke to. They were also able to begin the job in a matter of days, which was important because we had new hardwood floors installed soon after they were finished. Ken walked thru the job at the very end, and there were only a few minor touch-ups that they addressed the same day. Their drywall work was flawless, and the new colors look great!
Stacie Ferrence: I needed to hire a painting contractor for a last minute job. I spoke to no less than ten painting companies in the Washington DC area and was immediately impressed with Ken's responsiveness. We discussed my needs and the scope of the project and he was very detailed about his approach and all of the preparation steps. The job began with Ken's crew showing up on time to prepare the rooms to be painted. They were absolutely thorough and their attention to detail was above and beyond anything that I had ever experienced before. The painters covered all of my furniture and wood floors with drop cloths and plastic sheathing to avoid any spills. They did an amazing job and even did more than the original estimate by doing some extra touch ups on the last day in another area of my house. I was also impressed about how well they had cleaned my house when they were finished. By the time that they were done, the house was cleaner than when they actually started! Ken called a few days after the job was finished to make sure everything went well and I thought that was very professional. I really appreciate his genuine concern about my satisfaction. He even helped me with my purchases for additional paint and allowed me to use his contractor discount. I couldn't be more pleased with this company and will most definitely be recommending them to people that I know.

Son Nguyen: These guys are absolute frauds and crooks. They billed me for an additional coat of paint on my apartment because there was a "custom color" on the wall. That custom color? Primer White! This is how they make their money. No matter the immaculate shape you leave your apartment, these con-artists will come in and claim all sorts of damages and things that need to be fixed. I attached a picture of my living room wall that had a "custom color" and needed several coats supposedly to be painted white. Either these guys are the world's shittiest painters or they bill people fraudulently for their work. Which is it?

Roberto D: My HOA company hired these people. I've had the opportunity to see their work on 2 different occasions. Both jobs were full construction jobs (not only painting) Their first job was to fix a leak coming through the window and they completed the job. Unfortunately a month later we had water coming in through the same spot. They came back and repaired it as part of their commitment. The second job was a lot bigger and required a replacement of a wood support beam. They had an entire crew come in the house for a total of 4 days. I was impressed by their rigid timeline and attention to detail. This job would have taken another company 2 or 3 more days. I deducted a star because every day they came early (at least for us 8am) and woke us up every time! I just wish they could be more accommodating with the start and end times with the customer. Anyway I highly recommend their work.

They tout their attention to detail with prep work, and they really deliver on that promise--very important on a mid-1800s home. Cristina (the owner) and Edwin (the foreman) were communicative and on time, the project was on budget, and the finished product is top notch. We had multiple bids for the work, and while you will pay a bit of a premium over some other companies (to be fair they also were not the high bid), the quality of work and materials used makes Winkler a great value. My 90-year-old house is all wood, and they spent nine days just sanding and prepping the house before they started the actual painting. Their carpenter fixed a few rotted areas efficiently and inexpensively. The painters worked tirelessly in the heat and were always careful and polite. Rich was very responsive to my concerns.
