Recording Connection Audio Institute: what do users think?

Matayo Rague: Lucas Abend is one of the best academic advisors I could have asked for. My hour long remote sessions with him always make my tracks better and I always log off feeling like a better producer and excited to try all of the new techniques I learned. Lucas is also patient and always gives me advice on my music beyond what I ask for.

Nick von Ahn: Joelle from the recording connection really helped placing me with the perfect mentor. I am throughly enjoying learning from my mentor and any issue which were minminal were happily dealt with easily by Joelle.
Response: Thanks Nick. Glad to hear Joel has been doing a stellar job. Hope you're learning lots in-studio with your mentor.

Danny Egan: We ended the day with a local recording artist who specialized in blues music. She had an amazing voice and the experience itself was fulfilling. Can't wait to see whats in-store next!

Alexis Moats: Today I picked up my own Apollo Twin interface. I’m so excited about it. I’m getting closer and closer to putting the stuff I’ve learned to use in my own home studio.

Callie Pearson: It’s true what they say, it’s who you know. Thanks to connections I made through an industry networking event that the Recording Connection made available to me, I made some good money recording several radio spots and a recorded phone set.

lisa miller: love these guys!

Omega Recording Studios: what do users think?

Sean Ray: Great recording studio. They record and work your music like magic. I've had bandmates that were super nervous recording for the first time, but if you just play through, mistakes and all, the studio technician can help fix it and make it perfect. The staff is also awesome and works with you as well.

Sandy Hinden: Professional staff and amazing production. So thankful that this area has a professional studio so close by.
Response: Thank you Sandy! Your band is awesome. Please stop by anytime!

Antione “Tephlon Tione Perion” Kelly: Been here twice very nice studio best one I have been in , in the dmv area . My engineer Issac is incrediable. Can't wait to finish my album there

Klaus Michaels: Omega and Bill are unquestionably top notch. Both the facility and the attention to detail are second to none. I would be glad to place any future products I might consider in their more than capable hands. I have had the opportunity and great pleasure of interacting with Bill Mueller throughout his career. He is the real deal when it comes to anything audio, and his unwavering effort toward audio "zen" is always appreciated!! Mucho Kudos!!
Response: Thank you Klaus! We are glad you had a good experience!

Myron Bretholz: Omega Studios sets a very high standard for professionalism and quality output, and they have a justly deserved reputation in the field for that very reason. And, a big part of why that is so, is Bill Mueller, who is regarded in his field as one of the best sound engineers anywhere. The level of attention and knowledge he brings to his craft are the very embodiment of what a good sound engineer should be, and the numerous award-winning recordings that he has helped bring to fruition speak (and sing, and play) for themselves. Long life to Omega, and long life to Bill Mueller as well.
Response: Hello Myron, we really appreciate the kind words. I'll let Bill know!

Teresa Really: My initial impression of this place was dispelled within a matter of minutes. When I first arrived, I was expecting something glitzy and glamorous (blame my ignorance on watching too much Empire!). But what Omega lacked in visual accoutrements of a fictional TV show, they made up for in real-life grit, dedication, and compassion for the art. My son is student there and I could not be more proud. Don’t judge this book by it’s cover like me, the real reviews are in the many decades of success.
Response: Hello Teresa, this is awesome! Thank you for the kind words. You are correct, we are not known for our interior decorating haha

Christopher Espaillat: I attended Omega starting in January of 2018 for the AMP program. I’d say that the program is carefully put together and all engineers/producers/musicians of any level will get a lot out of the program from beginning to end. If you do attend, know that it’s an excellerated program and you are going to need to focus on studying hard like any other school, but there are always engineers and a staff that will be more than willing to answer any of your questions if that’s what it takes for you to succeed. Also, don’t just go there just to go to class and only focus on what the books and program are telling you. Pay attention to how the engineers as a whole work together in a REAL WORLD environment and why they do the things they do during mix and recording sessions. It’s a journey, but in the end it’s very rewarding.
Response: Chris, thank you very much for the review! We are glad that you had a valuable experience at our School. Best of luck as you start your new career!

miles holt: I was a student here from 2013-2014 and I loved it. Though the program is hard and takes a lot of dedication, it was worth it. I began working in the audio field not long before graduation, with the help of introductions given to me by the staff. The classes range from business to technical. The class sizes are small and allow a lot of hands on interaction. The equipment is state of the art, and the staff is fully knowledgable of how to use it. I went to college in Chicago for music, and then went to Omega, and I'd certainly say Omega gave a more fulfilling academic experience that is just as rewarding.
Response: We are glad you had a positive experience attending The Omega Studios' School!

Jordan Levy: I don't know what this lady is talking about, when I was a student there were more black kids than white. And everyone has to pass that test to get in. She is just mad about that. The admissions guy and the owner were both very nice to me and my family, and he even helped us get set up for financial aid! They probably just didn't want to take that lady's money. The program was awesome, too.
Response: Thank you Jordan for the kind words!

Mack Janice: About to finish my year hear. Absolutely loved it. Ignore the mother telling her that says that the school only accepts Albert Einsteins & Whites, the assessment test was high school level at best. A few English questions here, a few Geography questions there, some incredibly basic music terms and a handful of basic algebra. If you're unable to pass that assessment, you're not going to make it into this school. But if audio engineering is truly what you want to do, than this school is absolutely for you.
Response: Thank you Mack! We pride ourselves in regards to our student body diversity. Music is universal, after all!

Innovation Station Music: what do users think?

Mike Ryan: Dave Mallen's Innovation Station is hands down the best recording studio in the Mid-Atlantic region. Dave has put his heart and soul into creating a wonderful, state of the art facility that offers the very latest cutting edge technology without losing the warm, inviting feel of playing music with friends in an intimate setting. As a producer Dave is 100 percent committed to bringing the very best out of every artist no matter how big or how small the project. As an engineer he works tirelessly to record, mix, and master every track to the absolute highest standard. In addition to his considerable technical skills, Dave is a superb musician who can create a seemingly endless array of amazing musical textures with a wide variety of instruments. Most importantly, Dave is, at his core, a true music lover who brings an infectious enthusiasm for all things musical to everything he does. Dave has produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered a number of my tracks that have gone on to win National and International Songwriting Awards. Bottom line: if you're serious about making the very best music you can, Innovation Station is the one and only choice in this area.
Response: Thank you Mike, for sharing your experience with us and your kind words. You're a an amazing talent and great friend!

Davin Hutchins: I worked with Dave for more than a year on a full-album. What made the project successful was Dave's attention to detail and professional friendly attitude He had an ability to take my complex demo files and streamline them to a workable project, find the right sonic space for a lot of instruments and learn songs on the fly to contribute tracks. Super proud of the finished product and my sessions at Innovation. Time very well spent. Highly recommended.

Cynthia Angelica (Cynthia Gross): It can be tough to find someone who is both enjoyable to work with and who has the prowess needed to produce creative, top-notch music. Innovation Station Music has both. For the past year and a half, I've been working with Dave Mallen on an original album and business strategy, and I'm so glad I made his studio my choice. As someone with high standards, I can say, the studio has what it takes to bring your music dream to life. Beautiful space, the latest equipment, and a producer who pours his heart into each project he takes on.
Response: Hey Cynthia, thank you so much for leaving us such an amazing review. We are overwhelmed to know that you loved our work and we are really grateful that we could transform your dream into reality. Wish you all the luck!

Donnies Amys: I did my solo project with Dave years ago. Even before he had this beautiful new studio, Dave was amazing to work with! Great producer, musician, listener, and advocate for artists. Work with Dave if you can!
Response: Hey Donnie, thank you for the compliments and for the feedback. We really appreciate your kind words and recommendation!

Brian Coyne: Dave was a pleasure to work with. In 2011 Dave mixed and mastered my blues EP. He did a fantastic job. The best thing he did for me was take the time to show me what he was doing so I could learn to mix myself. I have been mixing my own music now for almost ten years and I use the techniques Dave taught me everyday. One day I hope to mix as well as Dave! Rock on! -Brian Coyne
Response: Thank you Brian, for the awesome review and appreciation. We always try our best to provide you what you want and it's been our pleasure as well, to work with you and teach you all the techniques. Good luck!

Emily Henry: The Innovation Station studio is beautiful and easy to work in! Dave is a thoughtful, experienced producer who will help you get the best out of your sound. Recording, creating, and working on career goals are rewarding and high-quality experiences at this studio. Highly recommended!
Response: Thanks, Emily! Coming from you, this means so much!

Fox Vernon: Dave shepherded me through the process of releasing my first album. And I do mean "shepherded," as my metaphorical sheep were wandering aimlessly. I never could have done it without his big ear, big heart, and kind touch!
Response: Hey Fox, thank you for the great review and appreciation. Glad to know you liked our work. Keep it up! Merry Christmas!

Relegation Books: A beautiful studio. We always enjoy working with Dave. He is a great producer, engineer, and musician.
Response: Thank you for the great feedback and appreciation. Looking forward to work with you again!

Crys Legend: Great studio that has everything you need to get quality sound. Definitely will be coming back and recommend it to anyone!

Middle C Music: what do users think?

James Hurwitz: Without reservation, Middle C Music deserves the highest possible recommendation. They did a superb job of cleaning up and giving an overall tune-up to my antique guitar and repairing my antique mandolin. In the process, I saw how the staff at Middle C —Nick, Tom, Dave and Hillary — interacted not just with me but customers and students of all ages and abilities. What I appreciated most was their low key manner and the pleasure they took in enhancing the joy that others got from their instruments, music, and lessons. This is truly an excellent music store.
Response: Thanks so much for all your kind words, Jim! Always a pleasure working with you, and of course, you're welcome back anytime-- in fact, if you drop by on the 19th, we'll be having a 20th anniversary celebration with cake, prizes, and live performances. We're honored to be your local music store, and hope to continue serving you and maintaining your lovely instruments for years to come. -Tom F.

Gillian Edick: We popped into Middle C to have a guitar restrung and tuned. They did it quickly, but more importantly made it great fun for my aspiring but beginner guitarist. Tom was amazing - so helpful and took the time to show my son how to tune the guitar, hold it and get started. Really fantastic service. Thanks Tom and team!
Response: Thanks so much, Gillian. Helping musicians have fun getting started is one of my favorite things about working in our community. Come back anytime to show off his progress! -T

Paul Myers: I purchased a piano from these fine people, and I love it. It was very competitively priced. I have also purchased a guitar, and I have had these folks restring several guitars, and they do a great job —and again, the price is right. I love supporting small businesses, and Middle C Music is one of the best!
Response: Thanks so much! Very kind words. Glad you're enjoying the piano.

Phyllis Pierce: I had a small (thankfully) issue with the guitar I'm teaching myself to play. So I took it to Middle C in hopes they could fix it and it wouldn't be away from me too long. They fixed my issue on the spot and for free!! They are very friendly and that guy really knew his guitars. I think they have a long term customer here!!
Response: Thanks for stopping by Phyllis! We're looking forward to seeing you back at Middle C soon. If you have time this Saturday, why not drop by for our 20th Anniversary celebration? We'll have cake, prizes, and live performances happening all day long!

Christopher Tripoli: I fell in love with an instrument I found here called a "U-Bass," but I'm left-handed so couldn't use the one on display. Had them order a lefty model for me, and couldn't be happier with their service! Tom F was excellent to work with. A fun neighborhood store that I eagerly recommend!
Response: Thanks for the review, Chris! I'm really happy we were able to deliver. Come back and show off your U-Bass skills anytime! -TF

Fernando Nogueira: Super friendly and helpful staff. We were missing a very specific guitar screw and they helped us out in no time.

Ricky Webster: Amazingly friendly and helpful staff! Middle C is a great place to pick up your general music needs, but maybe isn't the best specifically for guitar equipment. They still have the basics for guitar, and will order anything you need! I have also used their guitar repair/tune-up service and everything was great. Thanks!
Response: Thank you, Ricky! We can't wait to have you back in the store.

Susanna Gregory: I LOVED it here! Stopped by for a new guitar and the staff was immediately willing to help and super friendly. The prices were great and I was really impressed with all the cool little things you could buy too! I didn’t get the names of the people who helped me but they were fantastic
Response: Thank you, Susanna! I'm glad we were able to help you find the right guitar, and we really appreciate your support. See you again! - Nick (and Tom and Dave) :)

Rebecca Brenner: I hadn't sought out new strings for my guitar since 2017. so every ~4yr when I get restrung, I only trust one music shop to touch my green guitar: Middle C Music. they do a fabulous job! I wouldn't recommend waiting 4yr for new strings -- or 10+yr for a new case -- but I highly recommend Middle C Music for all services!
Response: Thanks so much Rebecca! We'll see you in another four years!!

Michelle Long: I had the best time at Middle C Music! Everyone was super knowledgeable, supportive, and friendly. I came in looking for a 3/4 size acoustic guitar for traveling and had my pick of a beautiful selection. Big fan!! Will return!
Response: Wooo! Thanks Michelle, hope you enjoy the new guitar!

Blue Room Productions: what do users think?

RJ: I met with Conrad several months ago, as a total novice in recording and mixing. He held my hand right from the beginning, starting from how to put together a simple home recording setup for my Karaoke singing, and then doing the mixing for my songs. In each session i learn some nuance from him on how to improve the mechanics of singing and recording. Thanks to him i have a YouTube channel up and running, with a small dedicated set of followers. Gives great balance to my work routine and has me re-connecting with friends. It is a pleasure to work with you in your superbly appointed studio, Conrad!

Mealony Thomas: This was my Granddaughters and I first time in a professional recording studio. She has been blessed with a vocal coach who has been with her since her journey began. When we arrived, Conrad was very inviting and warm. He explained what was going to occur and how we would go about obtaining those results. He gave Nyasia directions on how to proceed and because of Zenzi's preparation Nyasia went in and nailed it. Then we saw Conrad's mastery at work and the man is a genius. When the session ended and we were leaving, I told Zenzi how I felt about the experience, non-stressed and relaxed,, and she said "that's the way it's supposed to be"..
Response: Thank you so much for your message Mealony! You made my day! It was an absolute pleasure to host you, Nyasia, and Zenzi at the studio. And I look forward to our next session together! Have a blessed week!

Anna Ivanova: This is an absolutely superb recording studio! I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the sound, the subtle understanding of the music, the great professionalism and friendly attitude of the owner, and the patience with which Conrad was willing to correct all of the small wrinkles in my initial recording. The recordings I made with Blue Room were also done in collaboration with the BAT studio productions (Ben-Aviv Tam) and the combination of these two great professionals and really extraordinary people made it the most exciting and rewarding experience, which I will cherish for my whole life. If you need a high-quality recording with the people who really care about what they do, you have come to the right place! I do not have enough words to describe my admiration and gratitude for the work of this studio. Simply the best!

Karen Fleming: Thank you for recording my voice over demos two weeks ago. The studio is awesome, and I felt right at home. I very much appreciate your work.

Chris Wheat: Thank you so much to Blue Room Productions, all the recordings sound great. I can't wait to get them out in the world! Conrad did an amazing job and they sound just like I hoped they would. Even though this is my first professionally recorded project, I loved being in the studio and learning and recording.

Ana Galeli: Blue Room Productions offered me one of the best recording experiences I’ve had! I contacted them at the last minute and they were able to cater to my needs along with providing excellent and professional customer service. Here, you are working with the best professionals in the area and I definitely felt that I got my money’s worth. Also, the studio is gorgeous and very well equipped, truly a gem! I was 100% happy and satisfied with my recordings, Conrad is the ultimate professional! He will make sure you get the best takes and goes above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. Huge plus for having a plethora of equipment options! Already booked my next session!

Stedfastt: Conrad is the man! Very talented and customer friendly. I had my latest single Badlands mastered by him. The master sounds excellent and he made sure it ended smoothly. I also liked how he shared details about the process. In all honesty, I highly recommend him.

Landon: I have worked with Conrad at Blue Room both on my own and others projects for several years and I can say without a doubt that he is a professional through and through. He is always on it - and willing to share feedback and creative wisdom.

Brittany Smith: Thanks to Conrad, I had the most enjoyable recording experience. I wanted to record some songs on the piano for my wedding ceremony and Googled "Recording Studios in Maryland." Blue Room Productions was on the first page and had good reviews. I called and the pricing was reasonable, so I gave it a shot. From the day I scheduled my session to the day of, Conrad called several times just to check in and confirm that the appointment was still on. When I arrived, he took me on a tour of the stunning contemporary home studio. Afterwards, we got right to work, and I warmed up on the awesome electric piano. I don't remember what kind of piano or software he used, but it was AWESOME. If I hit a wrong note, he could edit it right out from the computer. It took me less than an hour to play my songs, and after he produced the tracks and gave me a CD, I was out the door. I would definitely recommend Blue Room to anyone and plan to return myself.

Kate Eckman: I had such a wonderful experience with Conrad and his team from start to finish—from my initial conversation to the day of recording to the timely delivery of my project and overall quality—they overdelivered. I greatly appreciate their kindness, professionalism and skill! I will definitely be back! Thank you!!

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: what do users think?

Amanda Turcotte: I love being a member of the Kennedy Center. I joined during the pandemic because I wanted to support the arts and because a friend told me how much they enjoyed being a member. Fast forward a couple years later and I am finally able to enjoy both indoor and outdoor events at the center. The mission of the Kennedy Center really speaks to me and the community events as well as amazing performances throughout the year definitely make the membership worth while. My husband and I attended our first opera this year. We have also attended a few National Symphony Orchestra performances and a members only rehearsal. It was really special to watch the orchestra rehearse and see how the players and conductor come together to perform beautiful compositions. The Hall of States and Hall of Countries are really something to behold as well. There is so much history to learn about. The Reach is another building on the campus that is also full of great historical moments and an active work area for artists. The grounds have an amazing view of the Potomac River as well. There is parking on site for $25 and members receive a $5 discount on parking if you book in advance. We have not tried the on site restaurant yet, but plan to soon. Definitely check out an event and grounds of the Kennedy Center, if you are in the area. You will want to come back for sure. Thanks! :-)

Joana Ward: Lunar New Year Lanterns. Beautiful Display and family friendly. During COVID everyone was wearing masks even outside. Recommending you go early to park and although the line was long it moved quickly for how long it was (40 minutes). There was a free station for activities the kids could do. Bring two adults for kids so someone can stay in line while the other one has the kids exploring.

Jessica Isbell: We had an absolutely amazing time! The entire experience was just wonderful. My 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Venue was incredible, staff exceptional. Weather was a perk too, perfect day. The outside area for intermission with views of DC is fabulous. We will absolutely be back. Thank you for adhering to masking and vaccination policies as well while bringing the arts back into these hectic times.

preservefootprints: We visit there on last 2 days of the Reach Winter Lanterns Festival. It was a huge area filled with lanterns displays celebrating 2022 Lunar New Year, it was so beautiful and bright. They have benches with heater around the open space. The organizer has worked excellent to manage the guests flow!

David Morar: A true home for the performing arts, the Kennedy Center has numerous stages from the Opera House to a black box theater and everything in between. Created for DC residents and tourists alike, the Center brings or originates amazing shows, events and workshops. It’s both the institutional house for the National Symphony Orchestra and the place that has daily free shows (of all types) at 6pm. It’s truly got something for everyone, and with the recent addition of The Reach its uhm, reach has broadened even further! You can never go wrong with the KC. Highly recommend visiting on a random day even if you’re not going for a show: having just celebrated 50 years, the center is proud of its history and showcases it among other revolving pieces in its vast and airy halls. Check out the terraces (ground level and “terrace” level) and enjoy sweeping views of the city. A true gem in the nation’s capital!

Greg Zillgitt: Our visit to the Kennedy Center a few years ago is one of my fondest memories. Attended a performance of Mendelssohn' violin concerto in E minor, with Hillary Hahn as the soloist. A near-perfect experience, acoustically and visually. A striking venue. Walking distance from the Watergate (also highly recommended).

Mark Capriotti: Arrive early, grab a drink, and walk along the roof top. Perfect way to start the evening looking at many views of DC. Masks are required for the theater.

C F: Beautiful performing arts center with amazing friendly staff. Our family loves to attend shows as well as grab some snacks and walk the grounds. Some beautiful views of the river, some monuments and Georgetown. Also 2 gift shops, a cafe, and multiple snack stations. Underground parking also available or you can grab the shuttle which picks up and drops off at the GW metro station.

spellman1224: Went to see the play "Ain't too proud" it was awesome. We had the last row in Tier 2 and the seats were comfortable. The staff was great and courteous and eager to assist. Was able to take Metro and take the Kennedy Center Bus to get there. Even the bus driver was friendly 😊

Grey TheCat: This place is a lot of things, historic, classy, artsy, fun, accessible, it offers a ton of free activities and events and variety. This is a cultural epicenter and one of the East coast best venues. Spacious, easy parking and overall inexpensive events make it accessible to most people even those on a small budget.

Union Stage: what do users think?

Mrs. Dino: Small intimate venue with great sound and lineups. Can get pretty crowded but still a fun place to see a show. The VIP area is a little weird, I wouldn't pay extra for it, as it's just a few tables roped off behind General Admisson. I doubt you would be able to see if it was a packed show. Easy to Uber or Lyft to, and is located in a super cute part of the Wharf District. If I lived in DC I would definitely come here often.

Dan Rice: What a great little venue! My kid and I went to see Cybertronic Spree in November. The sound system was perfect for the setting. I didn't feel crowded, the bartenders were excellent. I would definitely go back! Being in the southern outskirts of DC is nice for me because I'm coming in from the south.
Response: glad to hear you had a good time at union stage! - luke

Tricia Alletzhauser: We had a great time here. We saw Niko Moon. It was an excellent show and the bar is a decent venue to watch a show. The bar staff was very nice. Overall, we had a great time.
Response: Thank you!

Dave Nemetz: Great little joint to hear some live music. Easy to get to, just a short walk from the L’Enfant Plaza Metro stop. Saw Will Hoge, and was right up next to the stage. Looking forward to seeing more shows here soon.

Chelsea M: Attended a show at Union Stage this weekend with my child & we had a great time! The venue is very intimate so the band can really feed off the crowd's energy and vice versa. I thought it was cool how to venue is basically under the restaurant. The only thing I thought was weird was the "premier plus seating" was only 4 seats roped off to the side... other than that it was great!

Oooma L.: A most excellent venue if standing (as in NO seating for regular ticket holders) amid a sea of mostly unmasked bipeds on a concrete floor in dark, windowless dungeons excites you. Featured music acts are one or two steps above what is offered at local suburban coffee houses. Meh. Most of the staff were polite.
Response: hi oooma. the floor is wood and the acts are all nationally or internationally touring performers. but yes, most of our concert-goers are bipeds!

Mike Davidson: Cool basement bar for live music right in the Wharf with a decent selection of liquor, rotating drafts, and bottles. Small bar food menu and limited seating. I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if it's the weekend.

Maria Cecilia Pinto de Moura: The Union Stage space is very good, but the 80s dance party on June 25 with DJ Dave Paul was disappointing for 2 reasons. First, too many of the songs were covers of the originals. Second, there was a very dominant drum machine added to all the songs. The songs completely lost their character and were blended together into a dull mass-produced soup. The message that came across was that after all the music from that decade couldn't have been that good, if we have to 'improve' it to motivate people to dance.
Response: hi maria. sorry you didn't enjoy the show. email me at luke@unionstage.com and we can take care of you. - luke

Ann Brennan: Great venue for music. Very intimate without being too crowded. Clean. Easy to park. Good beer selection and attentive staff.
Response: Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your time!

natalie !: Be cautious buying tickets from this venue! I was going to see a show on Jan 25 and it was postponed. The band I was going to see posted about their new tour dates and they were no longer going to perform at union stage and instead at a venue called DC9. I never received a refund from union stage, despite their website states you will receive a refund if a show is canceled. There is my $50 down the drain. I emailed them twice and no response. Very unfortunate that they're deciding to take advantage of their customers and ignoring them. I've been to this venue before and enjoyed my time there. But now, I am going to stay away and don't want to support this venue. Edit: I emailed Luke a week ago and still have yet to receive a response. Disappointed and definitely won't be supporting this venue or any of their affiliate venues..
Response: Go ahead and email us at luke@unionstage.com and we’ll take care of it.

Korean Cultural Center, Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Helen Xu: We came here for the interactive media exhibit and it was very interesting. There are two levels and the staff was friendly and helpful. You must get timed entry tickets prior to coming here.

Jeena Lee: It was very memorable being able to be apart of the Annual Kpop Academy in person and webinar & being able to meet some of the directors of the program at the DC Location.

Olga Crawford: It is a very interesting and creative place

Alex Lima: The immersion show was very sophisticated. However, tradition and history should be given more emphasis.

Julie Conka: They accommodated us even though we didn't have a reservation and the VR experience was fun.

Byus Mommie: Neat gallery on the second floor with interesting exhibits!

Oluseyi Akinyode: The Korean Cultural Center usually has fantastic programming (films, talks, artist showcase) & great food. Come on in sometime!

Love Lacy: Always have great events here where you can learn, see art, movies and more.

Black Cat: what do users think?

Nick Pascale: performed there with my band, The Missing Peace (check us out) and the staff was extremely nice to us and treated us with utmost respect despite opening for a huge artist. Also music venues normally carry a stigma of being stingy with their alcohol in their drinks but Black Cat served great tasting, well mixed drinks - best venue i’ve experienced in the DMV area!

Tom Burke: I've been to this club a few times over the past 15 or so years. Always liked it. It's a long haul for me (~1.5 hr drive), so I don't go often.

Tom Mole: Covid testing requirements were listed clearly and visibly written on the venue's website. The venue was pretty clean and the restrooms were surprisingly kept up which is rare.. The front desk/counter lady was extremely polite and nice. I will definitely return for another awesome musical performance! DC music shows! :)

Saminda Wijegunawardena: Saw Boy Harsher here on April 10th (2022) and it was the first time seeing this duo. Dark, early new wave-inspired songs, very synth-heavy with pounding minimal beats made for a great show at this raw venue. It was my first time back here in about 20 years, still has a great vibe if not the best acoustics. If they had better sound here and some better vantage points for the folks that aren't 6 feet tall, I'd definitely give it 5 stars.

Ramiro Pena: My past two experiences have been dreadful. They pack the place so full of people it is really concerning. I straight up got panic attacks from just how many people are packed in post pandemic. God bless them but I guess it’s just not for me anymore. It’s so hard to ascertain when the events held here arent packed with a huge huge group of people because besides that I’m sure there are worthwhile acts to watch. I remember one group that did a really cool interpretive dance I’m sorry for the low score but thats me and I think I’m going to add some keywords so that a certain audience can understand. If you have autism or anxiety this might not be the most accesible place for you. The last two times I have been here getting a drink or even approaching the bar has been impossible. The place was so packed inevitability people were rubbing up against me CONSTANTLY. Personally I can’t stand that. This place has pinball which is nice but last time the one machine had a flipper broken. I wish I could enjoy being inside this place but theres no where to sit most of the time I feel awkward walking in and just standing around, I can’t feel comfortable dancing because theres no room to move without brushing up against someone. I just can’t stand that. This is a personal problem but if you have sensory issues like that consider this an advisement

kevin jenkins: Had a great time seeing Flobots. Bartenders are great. Tip them. Well.

JW Francis: I played here on 4/19 and had a wonderful experience! Very cool room with checkered floor. Very kind people behind the bar and working production. Two thumbs wayyyy up!

Jeffrey Hearn (he / him): Limited but welcome seating for a big guy who can't stand for 3 hours at a stretch

Robert Cardoni: Mid size music venue hosting indie and punk acts. Space is long and narrow - so sight lines and sound can be off near the back but it’s still a great space. They recently downsized from 2 levels to one. Kind of sad but at least they weren’t forced out of the neighborhood due to gentrification. Bring cash. No credit cards accepted They no longer have food :(

Marissa Frank: Love going to shows at the black cat. The bar upstairs is no longer cash only, but they will not keep tabs. Drink prices are fine. The bathrooms need some help but it's a small fun venue, it's fine.

American University: what do users think?

Praveen Sriram: Stayed here in the summer of 2005 for my internship in Washington DC and the experience was absolutely fabulous with the dining halls and the gym being my favorites. No complaints at all and excellent customer service from the residence hall staff. I sometimes wish I studied Accounting at this university than at the one I studied at. Great school and great residence halls. Highly recommend! A+

cat wu: It's an average college, no particular major that's really standout around the country or the world. Courses are not that challenged compare to some other higher ranking schools and that probably explains why graduates don't get the best careers, you get what you work for. One thing should be mentioned is that dorms have a lot of rats.

洪銘勳: I have received my master of law degree (international legal studies) from the Washington College of Law of this school. It’s a very internationalized and excellent university. I really miss it.

Santiago Tovar: My friend is away at a summer camp and given the precarious infrastructure of your so called "university" has no wifi. He is unable to communicate with friends and family. This is outrageous, its unfair. Please fix this ASAP.

Adam Cox: Graduated school here in 2005. Students are very engaged and staff friendly. Great place to study.

Gabrielle Thompson: Jacksfilms is a notable alum, and yet, I do not see his name. Therefore, I will not spend my valuable time or money on this university!

Sarah Ashworth: Loved my years at American!! Great diversity and learning community!

Igor Dorokhine: Priced at the level of Ivy League University but return is not at that level at all. BEWARE!

t Whittington: Great university. Amazing area. Amazing people.

TechCarsAnd EverythingElse: Mediocre University in DC. Georgetown is a better university.
