Genesis Psychiatric Solutions: Ifeanyi Olele, DO, MBA, MS: what do users think?

James Kim: Dr. Olele was very thorough during my evaluation with him. He also made me feel very comfortable to speak freely and I am confident in his treatment plan.I would highly recommend him.

Alicia: I have nothing but gratitude and praise for Dr. Olele. At my initial consultation, I was at a very low point in my life. However, I was hesitant about seeking support due to the stigma associated with mental illness. Dr. Olele was patient; he actively listened, assessed, then addressed my concerns. He not only recommended medication management, but suggested strategies to improve my health and well being. Over the last month, I have made gains both physically and psychologically with marked improvements noted by those close to me. Dr. Olele is supported by a respectful and highly responsive team. Saying Dr. Olele positively impacted my life is an understatement. A 5-star rating is definitely in order for Dr. Olele and his team.

Ann Frolova: Dr. Olele was recommended to me. He has exceeded my expectations. He is very knowledgable and his kind manner led me to develop an immediate bond that I have not previously experienced. He is always available to answer questions. He has reached out to other care providers to obtain a complete understanding of my needs. I highly recommend him as he has been tremendously helpful.

Lillian E: Dr. Olele is very kind and easy to talk to. He listens to your concerns and makes professional suggestions. He is also timely in his responses and makes necessary accommodations to his clients. I would recommend to my friend and others looking for help. This was my first time visiting a psychiatrist and I felt so comfortable.

Ashley T.: Dr. Olele has been my psychiatrist since July of last year, and this review is long overdue. He is hands down the best psychiatrist I’ve had. He’s a Dr. who listens to his patients concerns and takes your past medical and/or psychiatric history into consideration when figuring out what may work best for you and your circumstances, even on the spot, so there’s no game plan that he has, it’s clear he wants to listen and find the most effective solution possible. He even responds to emails promptly and will go the extra mile to advocate for his patients to insurance companies. Overall he’s a great Psychiatrist who despite the chaos of last year and this, has helped me feel the most levelheaded and calm since I was a child. I wish I had known about Dr. Olele sooner but better late than never in this case.

T. Wiggins: Dr. Olele is great! He cares about the welfare of his patients and you can contact him at any time! I feel important as a client under Dr. Olele's care.

Corinne M.: I have been talking to Dr. Olele for a few months now and each session feels like a breath of oxygen and another step closer towards healing. Dr. Olele is not only caring and compassionate but he is also a knowledgeable professional who provides you with the tools you need to take back control of your life. He is non-judgmental and is able to adapt himself to where you are and will lend a hand to get you back on track. Most of all, he never stops giving you hope and positive energy. Finding a psychiatrist you can trust is no easy task (I have called many offices and actually called his office twice) but his office, and his assistant in particular, really took the time to listen to me and answer all my questions. I could not be happier with the choice I made and select him as my psychiatrist. Highly recommend.

Rare Find2015: Why claim to offer free introductory consultations with the Doctor, allow people to pick and choose the date/time they are available, then completely disregard the request? I requested an appointment time of 1600 on September the 17. Someone called like 25 mins later wanting to complete the consultation? Umm, no. I requested a specific time for a reason. I am still waiting for them to call me back.
Response: Although you were never a patient of ours, we appreciate your feedback and are disappointed to learn about your experience. We pride ourselves in providing quality care and timely customer service to all of our prospective and current patients. In order to assess the needs and expectations of our prospective patients, we offer a free consultation with an experienced member of our team. We understand that the process of switching providers or finding a new provider may be overwhelming to some, so we strive to make the transition as smooth as possible by assisting with scheduling and coordination of care as soon as we receive notification of a scheduled consultation. Our patients and prospective patients appreciate our quick responses. We always aim to meet the needs and expectations of our patients, as their interests are our top priority. In the event that their needs may be more appropriately fulfilled elsewhere, we happily provide our patients with referral resources as well as care coordination assistance. We wish you the best in finding a provider.

Frank Ogo: I've had a great experience working with Dr. Olele. He was knowledgeable and always explained how the medication worked. He would always present me with options and ask what methods I preferred. He was also frequently available and accessible by phone. The office was responsive and helpful, including when working with the pharmacy. I would highly recommend Him.

Ljm 9691: Dr. Olele is the first psychiatrist to take his time to listen and offer me solutions for my mental health. He is very caring and a fantastic doctor. Ill be forever grateful for his professionalism and ability to help me during a challenging time.

Psychiatric Institute of Washington: what do users think?

Andrea: Grateful for this place to exist. I came in as a walk in off the street because I needed help that minute. It was experience here that the vast majority of the staff went above and beyond in every way they could think of to make myself as a patient comfortable and cared for. The minute I walked into admissions I felt cared for and that I did not have to handle it alone any more. Shout out to Hazel for seeing what I needed and giving me her own water bottle when I had not had anything to eat or drink till I walked in. Margo who did my intake interview was so amazingly sympathetic to what I had been going through. It felt so good to be validated. Then I went up to unit 7 and met Gary who I would later see be a phenomenal caretaker for all my fellow patients on the unit. From keeping calm when someone displayed extreme behavior to joking and finding ways to give us a therapeutic experience. The taker for me was when my roommate had a panic attack and I asked for ice to help calm her. He could not give me the packs they had for safety reasons but he came up with a wonderful solution. Showing again that true passion and care for our wellbeing. Thank you all for the work you do everyday.
Response: Thank you for your kind words, Andrea! Shout-outs like this are so meaningful to our team and we will be sure to pass your comments along. Thank you again and take care!

Aliyah Boyce: I will never send my loved one to this facility ever again. Please do not send your loved ones here. Worst than prison. Staff is rude and disrespectful even management of the program. This place is terrible. Violates every protocol because they can get away with it. The state should shut this place down immediately! If I can rate 0 stars I would. This is a inhumane treatment center. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!
Response: Hi, Aliyah. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

We Need Answers: This is the worst hospital facility ever, with providing patients with the wrong medication and diagnosis, had no idea clothes were needed my loved one has been there for 1 week and I was told due to COVID outside persons will not be permitted, in addition a complaint was filed with the medical director both Alexus Obeck and Autumn Carlson which both failed to respond in a timely manner to address concerns of miss diagnosis and re evaluation. My loved one who suffers from mental illness called from a cell phone from the facility, begging to be picked up to be treated elsewhere while you hear the verbal abuse deflected from staff members to patients. It has been 4 days with no response. The staff is negligent and displays unconstitutional acts regarding patients and their well-being. DONT SEND YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY HERE. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, they contradict every word they say. We can't even trust the people appointed to care for persons with mental illness due to a lack of compassion for our community.

Kyrah Ford: Zero stars don’t recommend, this place was very unhelpful and mad things worst. Some of the male staff was just creeps and was doing inappropriate things! I highly encourage you to never send anyone to this hospital. worst experience ever!

Sandra Jacinto: If your loved one is admitted here, you won’t be able to communicate with them. My brother was admitted three days ago and I’ve yet to hear anything. In the times that I’ve called I’ve experienced the following: - straight to voicemail - operator says they don’t know the unit number and won’t be able to figure it out - being transferred to a dead end - person says they’ll take my number then immediately hangs up on me - first time I called they told me that his sister already called that morning. False. I’m his only sister and I never called before. I was successful in giving my name and number once and ANOTHER PATIENT CALLED ME BACK. They gave my number to the wrong patient. This is a psychiatric institute. You’d think they’d be careful with who they give messages to for obvious reasons. Clearly they didn’t vet if that patient knows me. I know that there are some good staff members there but the majority of them don’t care and shouldn’t be in this job. There are horror stories about this place how they let patients freely walk around and get in fights. It’s scary that he’s in there and can’t be reached. I don’t trust this place at all.
Response: Hi, Sandra. Thank you for reaching out to us. We would like to take the opportunity to address your concerns with you directly. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/ so that we can follow up with you. Thank you again and we hope to hear from you soon.

Mason Mailloux: If I could rate this institution 0 stars I would. Some of the staff are genuine good people but about 80% of them don’t seem to care at all about the “patients” when it’s really just a scam for insurance and Medicaid. There is no security however there are physical fights every day. They hardly feed you and when they do it’s worse than jail food, The group therapy is a joke 45min out of the 24 sleepless hours in a day. No one in their right mind would ever want to get admitted here.
Response: Hi, Mason. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Jessica Fullington: If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction and/or mental health, this is an EXCELLENT place to receive help. The staff is truly exceptional and very compassionate! I was in TERRIBLE condition when I was brought to the facility. The expert level care that I received made it possible for me to return to my normal life in just one week. They even made sure that I had a solid plan to continue my care once I was discharged. I would urge ANYONE who is looking for this type of assistance to go to this wonderful place. Hopefully, I will never need them again. God bless
Response: Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Jessica! We are so glad that you found our staff to be supportive and friendly. We appreciate the kind words and we hope you are doing well!

Kaden Burchett: if i need a psych hospitalization again, i'm specifically requesting NOT to go here. the staff either didn't notice or didn't care that i didn't eat anything for the four days i was there. another patient (who i believe to have been developmentally disabled) frequently entered other patient rooms and even went through my belongings, and the staff responded to these incidents by yelling at him; they never took any actions to prevent him from doing these things. there were bugs in my room and it was never investigated when i told the staff; i was simply labeled as psychotic. there were no groups, no therapy (or even a therapist as far as i'm aware), nothing to pass the time besides a tv that didn't work for half the time i was there. it was impossible for my fiancé to contact me while i was there. frankly, if this place is your only option, you might just be better off not going. i will likely be filing a complaint with the district against this place because of my experiences there.

Cam N: This place needs to be shut down immediately, no care or respect for patients. Disregard for health and sanity. Food is terrible, showers are ice cold. Employees force religious beliefs. Not profesional what so ever
Response: Hi, Cam. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting https://reptn.io/BwAfZ1AaQfA. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Mary Moaney: If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would staff does not communicate with parents of children patients. Patients are fighting no security no control no organization etc. My daughter had a panic attack and no one found her. No organization with medications etc. Absolutely worst place to send your children. If you actually care about your children do NOT send them here.
Response: Hi, Mary. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your concerns. We take your comments very seriously and would like to learn more about your concerns. Due to federal patient privacy laws, we can only discuss care with a patient or guardian; however, we encourage you to reach out to us directly by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. Again, thank you.

Washington Interventional Psychiatry (Ketamine and TMS center): what do users think?

Rebecca Murphy: Dr. Raczynski, and his infusion nurse, Samantha are incredible. In my entire treatment history, I've never worked with a more competent team. The accommodated me and my service animal during infusions, and went above and beyond in providing and advocating for appropriate care.
Response: We’re very happy your experiences with us have been positive!

Kas: I am seeing Dr. Sasha Bergeron and Dr. Michelle Sanzo here and they are easily the best pair of physiatrist and psychologist I've ever worked with. We managed to find a root cause for my long-standing mental health issues and have come up with a viable plan to address said issues. Also, I've made a few last-minute, urgent appointments here, and they have always managed to squeeze me in. The front office staff are also very helpful, and their online scheduling system makes scheduling an appointment extreamly easy.
Response: Thank you for the review!!

Rebecca Mazur: I am getting excellent care at WIP. Over many, many years (I'm 68), I have seen lots of psychiatrists and tried many drugs and treatments. This place gives me hope. I feel better!
Response: Thank you!

Valora Everly: In my 30+ years of mental health assistance I've never spoken with someone who could make quick sense out of what I've suffered with for 30+ years. Dr. Reddy is down to earth, professional, insightful and compassionate. I'm sooo thankful I started treatment here! Update: I'm nearly 8 months into treatment and I'm at a place with myself I never imagined I could be. In my life I've been through sooo much therapy, hospitalizations, rounds of ECT.. but nothing has ever effected me and my life as the treatment I am receiving has. Though I feel most of my recovery is internally, my husband sees so much improvement with me and praises me for the work I put in and my dedication to feeling "better". Likewise, we are soooo thankful to have WIP nurse Sam and Dr. Reddy with their attentiveness to me as an individual and in helping me along in my journey of relief.
Response: Thank you!

Eileen Marable: I love getting my treatments at the Washington, DC location of Veritas Health. I feel my doctor is well connected to my case and when I've had issues come up with my case or treatment he's been invested with immediate weigh-in or bigger-picture solutions. My nurse is the best out there. She is friendly, kind, uber-professional, and a problem solver. I'm a tough stick for an IV, but she has made it her mission to happen with as much ease as possible. I love her low-key, but truly focused style. The treatments rooms are clean, simple, and friendly. I could not ask for a better facility and team for my treatment. Thank you to Veritas Health, Dr. Reddy, and my nurse Sam!
Response: We’re glad we can be helpful.

Carolyn Smith: I have not had an infusion yet. This rating is based solely on the consultation with Dr. Raczynski. The doctor answered my questions completely and honestly. He explained when there was no scientific evidence currently available to answer some of the questions. Dr. Raczynski was as personable as he was professional. His questions to me were pertinent and helpful as well. I am looking forward to working with this doctor and Veritas Health.
Response: Thank you very much.

K Murray: Dr. Rokoske always takes the time to listen to me, to answer my questions, and to explain things to me. She’s the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had.
Response: We agree! Thank you for your review.

David Sloane: Dr Reddy is an exceptional psychiatrist, and has done an excellent job of assessing my challenges and responding to them effectively, where other providers have failed.
Response: Thank you.

Susan Anderson: Dr. Raczynski has treated a family member for a few years. He is responsive, compassionate, and up to date with latest therapies, and medications. I would highly recommend him to work with your teen.
Response: We appreciate the review. Thanks.

Gina Mann: I receive kind and informative care from Dr. Raczynski. The Registered Nurses, Andre and Sam, are also kind with a genuinely warm touch. I feel I am in good hands and am very pleased with my experience at Veritas. I continue to receive care from Dr. Raczynski and the registered nurse- all excellent experiences and my health is continuing to improve.I highly recommend Veritas Health, PLLC.
Response: Thank you. We’re glad to be of help.

Dr. Jason Rosen, MD: what do users think?

Kathleen Barnes: I have not been a patient of Dr. Rosen's for a very long time, but I can already tell you that he is the best psychiatrist I have ever had. I am still a "work in progress" as far as finding the right meds so I can't speak to that yet, but his bedside manner and in office behavior are unlike any psychiatrist I've ever seen. He is not robotic, he really listens to you and he cares. He never diverts his attention away to a laptop like so many other doctors do. He is very prompt at responding to emails and voicemails. When I had a bad reaction to a medication about 5 months ago in the middle of the night, I sent him an email. This med reaction was not his fault, it was just bad luck. Dr. Rosen personally called me 4 hours later that same morning (a Saturday) to make sure I was OK and instructed me what to do next. He didn't have to do that. That's when I really knew I was in good hands.

The Ross Center: what do users think?

lorie d: The Ross Center's Medical Director, Dr. Beth Salcedo is amazing! She is kind, compassionate, and takes time to understand the needs of her patients. She takes a holistic approach to treating anxiety which I have really appreciated. I highly recommend her!
Response: Thank you for your kind words!

Robert Scott: How can you get good adolescent care virtually when everyone can go to the movies, hair salons and all the other activities, but a simple in- person program or seeing a psychologist is off limits because of the excuse of a pandemic. Is the psychologist and therapist too good to not meet in-person when all of us are working back at work? We all need to be loud and tell our mental health professionals that we are not going to take virtual as an option anymore. This company just cares for the ole mighty dollar and they think that they can give adolescent mental health effectively virtually as our children keep falling apart. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.
Response: We are working on our reopening plan, being mindful of the various health needs and concerns of our staff while also following the guidance of our regulatory organizations such as APA. We hope to be able to offer in person treatment very soon.

Brianna Scott: Yikes! Leaving my review with the same thing I said in my e-mail: "Good afternoon, I just called the Ross Center and not sure who I spoke to but...it's clear that you all as a company do not want to help people. I called simply stating that I received a voicemail over the weekend, I was inquiring about being a new patient for medication management, and was just met with..."okay." I tried to give the person the benefit of the doubt but they clearly had an attitude. This is my first impression of this company so...despite the fact that maybe the doctors who work here might be good...I don't really want to deal with receptionists who are annoyed at the fact that their literal job is to get new patients signed up. It's already super hard to get mental health help, and it's also a lot to build up the courage to ask in the first place. Does this matter to any of you all? No. But, you all should be wise to train folks answering the phones to just treat people with respect. If the person was confused by what I was asking, they could have simply just said, "Yeah, we can help with that. Who exactly left you a voicemail over the weekend?" It's really that simple. Thank you and have a great rest of your week." It's probably going to be quite rough finding anyone in the city to help with medication management. But I'd kind of rather go without medication at all than being treated shittily by literally anyone in the healthcare system.
Response: This is certainly not the experience we want you to have, and not what we expect of our administrative staff. We apologize that you were treated this way. We will investigate this and deal with it immediately. If you have not yet been able to get an appointment with a different psychiatrist, feel free to leave a message for our medical director at 202-363-1010 x 114 and she will make sure your inquiry gets handled immediately and comfortably for you.

Rachel Wise: When my teenage daughter was experiencing some anxiety, I called the Ross Center and she was scheduled the next day for an evaluation. The entire process was smooth and efficient. The professionals on staff worked with us to figure out the best treatment options. My daughter had an extremely positive experience at The Ross Center. I highly recommend the Ross Center.

N A: I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Melissa Monson. She is extremely reliable and is the only psychiatrist I have ever felt like I got very comprehensive care from consistently. Ross Center is very expensive. I have been a patient off and on for many years, but I have never felt like I didn't get what I paid for here.

Sheryl Aaron: I've had the pleasure of collaborating with a number of therapists and psychiatrists at The Ross Center, and I have the utmost respect for their team. When referring clients to this practice, I know they'll get some of the most consistently skilled and compassionate treatment available in the D.C. area.

Jill Jacobs: Unprofessional, discriminatory, argumentative, and poorly informed. I tried to make an appointment here, and made it very clear that I am willing to pay cash -not use insurance at all - but was told that because my insurance is Tricare, they will not see me. Repeatedly I explained that I have no intention of using insurance nor filing with insurance after the fact, I simply want to get therapy and pay for it myself. In fact, I explained I would be willing to sign a document to that effect or write a letter and have it notarized declaring this. Regardless, I was told that they will NOT see any person who has Tricare, Medicaid, or Medicare, period... This place does not file or accept any kind of insurance at all; they only accept out of pocket payments. Yet they will not take my money, will not even tell me their fees because... Why...? I happen to have a past association association with the military...? This is not only discriminatory, but bad business practice, in general. I would give zero stars if I could.

Kiki Boots: Honestly feels like a scam. Our family has dealt with many, many clinicians over the years and this is the first time that, on intake, they told us there wouldn't be a good fit and to go elsewhere. And this is for pretty run-of-the-mill needs. I would avoid, unless you want to be charged hundreds of dollars for nothing.
Response: Hi there- We would be happy to discuss this with you and see if we can work something out. That does not sound right, and is not typically how we operate. Please give our medical director, Dr. Salcedo, a call at 202-363-1010 x 114 so you can set up a time to talk about this and we can make this right. Thank you.

Brad Brenner, Ph.D.: I've known Dr. Beth Salcedo for years and she's a warm, thoughtful expert. She and her colleauges at the Ross Center are some of best in the Washington DC.

Laura Webb: The Ross Center has been an extraordinary resource for me. Because of them, I’ve found exactly the right treatment to manage my anxiety, and I’m so grateful.

Shugarman Psychiatric & Counseling: what do users think?

Julia: Kristin Harkins is a wonderful therapist! I was initially hesitant about therapy, but now I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. Kristin is a great listener, wise, compassionate and has a great instinct to know when and how to point out at a specific aspect in order to help you heal and grow. I have come such a long way in a few months thanks to Kristin's guidance.

Daniel McQuay: Working with Dr Shugarman has been such a great experience. He's always professional and provides great feedback when I see him. On top of that he is very flexible when it comes scheduling our next appointment which has always been difficult with other doctors. I would recommend him to anyone.

Francis Mardula: I have been a patient of Dr. Shugarman's for several years. He is very knowledgeable in his field. He is very attentive to your concerns/needs and he offers not just medications, but suggestions for new activities, new interventions, and/or changes in behavior for positive results. I highly recommend the services of Dr. Shugarman.

He uses cutting edge behavioral science tools and techniques to assist you. He is always on time, which shows he appreciates your time. He provides analysis and develops a plan so you feel comfortable and understand a way forward to improve your life.
Response: Thank you for the positive review!

Chelsea Hedrick: Kristin Harkins is by far the most compassionate and caring therapist that I have ever seen. I appreciate her mind, body, spirit approach to counseling which has really helped me to take a broad look at what healing and self care means for me. This year I have been able to make a lot of progress towards healing and it wouldn't have been possible without her help. I will always be grateful.

Life Is: Kristin Harkins is one of the best therapists I’ve encountered, and I have seen a lot. She is thoughtful, compassionate and really knows her stuff. She has helped me get through some really difficult life changes, and I can’t recommend her enough.

Ana Cristina Rojas Lusker: I have the utmost regard for Dr. Shugarman. He is incredibly well-crafted and highly adept in his field of work. I would recommend him to a loved one or client for psychiatric care without a moment's hesitation.

Kirra Brandon: Dr Shugarman is an excellent psychiatrist. He truly loves the field and it shows. I would highly recommend him to all of my friends.

LETICIA DE CASSIA LOPEZ FARIA: I had the pleasure to have Alexis Harris as my supervisor for the last couple of years. She is a phenomenal clinician! She is an empathetic and thoughtful listener. Christopher Chaulk: Brandan Vazquez is a fantastic counselor. He's helped me so much by being a terrific listener, providing me with constructive feedback, establishing a great rapport so that I can trust him and feel comfortable being open and honest with him, and holding me accountable so that I take steps to achieve my goals, grow, and improve. I'm very grateful for the opportunity I've had to work with him.
Response: Christopher, we truly appreciate the kind words about Brendan! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a nice and detailed review. We agree, Brendan is wonderful.

Theo Beckles: Excellent Excellence! Alexis is an amazing, attentive and patient therapist who makes you feel safe when getting to the heart of whats really going on in life..
Response: Hi Theo, we truly appreciate you taking the time to leave a recommendation for Alexis. We absolutely agree with you, they are great!

Tiara Fennell: If it were possible, I would give 10 stars! Ieisha Dale is a phenomenal therapist and a great addition to the Thriveworks team. As a former colleague, her strengths lie in her ability to assess and track sequences, her open and non-judgemental approach with her clients and overall investment in her clients improvement. Anyone who works with her, as a client or colleague, will have the opportunity to see these strengths and more at Thriveworks.
Response: Tiara, your kind words about Ieisha are much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful comment!

Taylor Pettway: I’m so excited that Ieisha Dale will be joining the team at Thriveworks! As a former co-therapist and colleague, Ieisha brings her curiosity, authenticity, and systemic lens to every team and to every client. Her attention to cultural concerns and her ability to build resources and relationships provides a holistic support for individuals, children, and families. With her thoroughness and professionalism at the helm, she provides tangible opportunities for change and a validating experience for all in her sphere of influence.

Sarah M: After having worked with multiple counselors over the past two years, and struggling to find a good fit, I am so pleased to be working with the highly regarded Dr. Regina Lawson. Dr. Lawson is not only a brilliant clinician, but also a thoughtful listener and counselor. In particular, I appreciate Dr. Lawson's expertise in providing tools and expert insight to ensure that our sessions are productive, and that after a session I walk away knowing I have tools in my arsenal to ensure success. I have found that many counselors serve as listeners, but do not help navigate or provide the necessary tools to facilitate continued personal development. Dr. Lawson is also thoughtful and kind, but cares about the progress of her clients towards their personal goals, something I value a lot. Dr. Lawson offers both counseling to address mental health and career support. I am endlessly grateful for the work we have done so far over the past 6 months, and look forward to learning new tools to continue on my journey if self growth. Additionally, Thriveworks provides an essential and easily accessible counseling service for the D.C. metro area, which is particularly critical in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They offer a range of accessible tele-counceling services that allow me to continue receiving services remotely.
Response: Hi Sarah, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We absolutely agree with you, Regina is fantastic.

Tanya Vasunia: I give five stars to Nitika Gupta, a highly skilled therapist. I know her in the capacity of colleague and have found her knowledge and insight invaluable to my practice. Nitika is a dedicated and well-informed therapist who brings compassion and mindfulness into each of her sessions. Her eclectic approach allows her to expertly navigate therapy session while being sensitive and informative. Nitika has the ability to navigate cultural nuances and complex issues such as race and gender with the compassion and patience it deserves. I highly recommend seeking her expertise.
Response: Hi Tanya, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We absolutely agree with you, Nitika is fantastic.

Romanus07: Just wanted to leave this review for Brandan Vazquez. He’s good at what he does and an easy person to talk to. I’ve been through 3 therapists in the past 2 years (mostly due to the pandemic) and I can finally say I’ ve found one that really understand my situation and background , highly recommend!! Especially any black males looking for someone who looks like them and can relate.
Response: Hey there, your kind words about Brandan are much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful comment!

Columbia Associates in Psychiatry: what do users think?

Skylar Robinson: I’ve been a patient here for about 3-4 years now, and I’ve let my frustrations go far too long with this company. Their psychiatrists are very sweet, but the receptionists BARELY answer phone calls. I once called ten times in one day at different times- no answer. This is the flakiest company I’ve ever seen, and I do not recommend going here for help if you want your medications filled when needed.

Tiffany Yeckel: Great place. Have been working with NP Cody Eccard for about a year through the Perinatal Project. She is absolutely wonderful and although she is no longer seeing patient I know I am in good hands with NP Felicia! Tean, the admin has been so helpful when I have questions. Highly recommend this practice!

Pilar Rial: The front desk and billing dept. (Nick) was very helpful and responsive. Nick was able to set me up with an affordable payment plan and was very professional and attentive in answering all my questions and resolving my billing issues. The front desk was very accommodating to my requests.

luis lozano: The billing team (Nick) was great to work with when dealing with my insurance. They pro-actively took care of my issues vs. just telling me to deal with it.

Melanie Tague: Can't speak too much for the office (they do seem a little slow when you do have to interact with them), but Cody is the best psych I have seen EVER. Attentive, does not push diagnoses or medicine. Works with you and for you.

Molly Patton: The office staff is unhelpful and inept. The left hand never knows what the right is doing. Their technology for virtual appointments is all over the place and unreliable. When trying to reach the provider because the links either were not provided or not working, no one answers or calls back. I will say, the providers themselves have been nothing short of excellent. They are engaged, helpful, and some of the best I've had. The Perinatal Project team are AMAZING. If you value your mental health, choose an office that puts organization, reliability, and consistency first - not Columbia Associates in Psychiatry. I really hope they fix these issues, which are not new, they just keep getting worse though. I would really hate to give up on the excellent providers because the office is so poorly run.

Stephanie Myers Irizarry: The office is a mess. I've been receiving bills in error for appointments I never had, when I haven't even been a patient here in over a year. No one, billing department or otherwise, ever responds to multiple calls and emails.

Leah Stribling: Completely life changing. I am receiving TMS therapy and everything about this experience has been exceptional. Half way through my sessions now and I already feel better than I have in my entire life. I had lost hope after years and years of unsuccessful treatment through medication and therapy. I was ready to give up on trying to get better until I was referred by my psychiatrist to have a consultation for TMS. Tean has gone above and beyond to accommodate my work schedule because I would, otherwise, not be able to do my treatments and keep my job. I told her on the phone while scheduling my first appointment that I couldn’t believe someone who doesn’t even know me would go the extra mile like she had already done. She told me she was happy to do whatever she could to help me get better. Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time with her while she administers my treatments 5 days a week. The words of encouragement she gives, and even the cheerful “good morning” and smile when I walk in the door every day has touched me more than she knows. I would 100% recommend Columbia Associates in Psychiatry to anyone looking. They are life savers and I am so thankful for each person involved in my care.

Emily Forster: I had a very poor experience with this practice. First, they did not record my phone number correctly. Then, at my appointment time, they couldn’t reach me, so they called my emergency contact about my phone number. I found this very inappropriate. I expect my emergency contact to only be contacted during a real emergency. They didn’t even try emailing me. And finally they reached me and I tried to confirm that they updated my number correctly. Then, my second appointment came and of course they still did not have the correct phone number. Second, the medication that was prescribed could not be filled by my pharmacy because the doctor had to speak with my insurance company. Both the pharmacy and myself tried reaching the practice and I left multiple messages and no one ever contacted me. I was not able to get my medication. Third, I had scheduled a follow-up appointment and they just never called. I did not receive any help and I strongly recommend against using this practice. There may be some potential fraud considering they were not able to authorize my prescription and they just stopped contacting me once I realized this.

Kaitlyn: I've been seeing Victoria for over a year here and she is absolutely wonderful. The first time I called, the receptionist could tell I was in need and did everything she could to get me in to see someone. They worked with my awful insurance to make sure I could stay with the practice. Insurance in general for mental health is never as good as it should be, so there was a little back and forth trying to get things figured out. I would have had insurance issues anywhere. What matters is the quality of care I received from my therapist and that I am so much better now than I was back then.

Potomac Psychiatry: what do users think?

Frank Murray: My experience with Potomac Psychiatry was excellent. Dr. John Carr has been great taking care of me over the past few years. His staff is always there to schedule my appointments and to answer my questions.
Response: Thank you for the great review! We are so happy to hear that you were satisfied with your experience at our office. We hope to see you soon again :)

Rebecca Gale: Pros: nice front desk staff who were easy to get a hold of, pretty friendly docs, free parking, easy to get appointments (at least for my doc) Cons: pricey for a mediocre experience. I don't feel like I got anything better than psychiatrists who charged $50-100 less. Promise to take your genetics into account and act like they're doing ground-breaking work to treat the whole self, but my doctor barely looked at my testing and actually went against at one point to drastic consequences. But I'm still alive and it's water under the bridge. I would say I shouldn't expect mountain moving in med management but I feel like someone paying $300+ for a half-hour appointment should get more than being asked about their job and hobbies for 15 minutes. At one point, I realized a couple days after a check-in appointment that I was having a hypomanic episode, so I contacted my doc and he replied that he could tell in the last session I had been having one. But apparently he didn't see fit to do anything? I can't speak to others in the practice, but I just want to leave something that isn't one or five stars. I also had trouble with the texting-to-get-refills system. Doc would miss texts and thus not refill until I asked more. Kinda strained relationship. Anyways, I don't have the financial ability to keep going here for so little return. Maybe it is better for adolescents and children.
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you had a negative experience at our office. We take feedback like yours seriously and we are going to look further into this so that we can work towards making you a happy customer. Thanks!

David Cohen: I once received a letter from them informing me that their fees would increase, going from very expensive to extremely expensive. Part of the justification they gave for the price increase was to continue to ensure "quality front desk service". It had been a few years since I was a patient and yet during that time that quality front desk service couldn't even wipe me as an active patient from their system and sent me an upsetting letter. Anyway even before the price hike I'm not sure there was anything that warranted the cost that you couldn't get elsewhere, which is not to say they can't be effective or helpful, but in terms of value itself I struggle to believe it's worth quite what it costs. At the very least, afterwards I found a rather cheaper psychiatrist literally down the street, who was willing to be more flexible about fees and didn't miss something obvious on the genetic testing report, which they tout here. I can't say my doctor here was uncaring, though looking back it wasn't a healthy therapeutic relationship and I feel like they should have caught on to that. I certainly learned a lesson from that. I also feel autism, a relevant issue of mine, wasn't understood well, which is sadly par for the course for psychiatry in general, but still disappointing. (Note: The stars don't really capture the nuances of my experience; they're just there because something has to be put down.)
Response: David, We appreciate your candid review about your experience with our practice. It is unfortunate that we were unable to meet your needs as a patient. We are regularly striving to provide the best possible service and care, but it seems we fell short here with you. We understand that the experience can start with the front desk, which is why we are bringing on additional admin team members to meet the needs our of patients in a timely fashion. We will take this review and use it as we work to continuously build a better experience for all patients. Take Care, Potomac Psychiatry

Donna Mutryn: When I leave a message for Dr Portillo I know I’ll hear from him in a timely manner. He’s been supportive and has really gotten to know me well. I would recommend Dr Portillo to my family and friends.
Response: Really appreciate the feedback! We are so delighted to hear that you had a great experience.

Jason Schiller: Dr. Portillo is a first class Psychopharmacologist. He understands the biology of how medications interact with the body; sometimes down to the particular receptor. He will take the time to explain it to you if you are interested. Dr. Portillo is thoughtful and particular about selecting which medication is likely to be the most effective, which has beneficial side effects, or at least lacks the most undesirable side effects. He has been beneficial in managing medication not only for psychological treatment, but also for interactions with medical conditions such as POTS.
Response: Thank you for your review! We are so happy that you had a positive experience. We love that we were able to provide you with an amazing experience. Looking forward to seeing you at your next visit!

Laura Laura: The reception staff is always friendly and helpful. They follow through on sending requested receipts and medical records quickly and correctly. We are very pleased with our doctor. Dr. John Carr, who we followed from a previous practice. He is friendly, understanding, compassionate and up to date on treatment modalities. We have and would recommend to anyone. He has a great ability to connect with teens and young adults, we saw him with our son and others when he was in an inpatient setting. But, he also relates well to me, a 61 yo female..
Response: Thank you for your review! We are so happy that you had a positive experience. We love that we were able to provide you with an amazing experience. Looking forward to seeing you at your next visit!

Chris R: I’ve been with this practice now for about 5-1/2 years and I must say I’m not only doing great with everything do to their doctors the staff is great and friendly as well! I have to also say that my doctor I see has gone well above to help whenever I’ve been in a bind. Thanks to you all at Potomac Phycitry, Christopher R
Response: Really appreciate the feedback! We are so delighted to hear that you had a great experience.

Christine McKIttrick: Dr. Lyerly is amazing. He literally saved my life and continues to keep me stable 8 years later. He’s kind, compassionate and extremely smart. My problems have always been difficult but he figured it out and got me on the correct medications. He continues to come up with new things when needed. He always knows what to ask even when I don’t feel like talking and responds with excellent suggestions. He’s made an overwhelming illness not so overwhelming. I always feel much better after speaking with him. He’s always been very quick to respond no matter what I have needed from him or if I’ve needed to speak to him outside a scheduled appointment. The office staff is always extremely helpful and kind. Very organized and well run. Best practice I’ve ever been a part of! Would give a 10 star review if I could.
Response: Thank you for your review! We are so happy that you had a positive experience. We love that we were able to provide you with an amazing experience. Looking forward to seeing you at your next visit!

William Gregory: The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they don't take any insurance. Other than that the front staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. Scheduling or rescheduling appointments is very easy. All of the doctors in the practice are more than qualified to meet your needs. I've been seeing Dr. Carr for a couple years now and he is worth paying out of pocket. I highly recommend!
Response: Really appreciate the feedback! We are so delighted to hear that you had a great experience.

Morgan Doolittle: Dr. John Carr is easily one of the best doctors I've seen in any field. He is personable, very knowledgeable and always willing to listen and accommodate needs. Potomac Psychiatry is expensive and they don't take insurance, but Dr. Carr is worth it.
Response: Really appreciate the feedback! We are so delighted to hear that you had a great experience.

Gladstone Psychiatry and Wellness: what do users think?

Amy Waldron: I am writing this experience as one who refers to Gladstone as I have no experience receiving their services. As a private practitioner, I continually receive feedback from my patients that their appointments are canceled. It seems appointments are booked so far in advance, there is no guarantee the physician will be present on the appointment day. One patient was finally scheduled for a telehealth visit but could not log into the portal. She called the number on file for help but no one answered and she was left on hold for 20 minutes. I know there are some wonderful providers here and I hope they can offer more consistency with their administrative support.
Response: Thanks for the feedback, Amy. Gladstone is pretty much in the same position as most service companies across the US - we're having trouble recruiting and retaining administrative staff. You may have noticed service at restaurants, stores and other venues has been impacted as well as our phone lines. We're doing the best we can, and hopefully the strategies we're putting in place will help now and in the future. Generally, providers such as yourself are more than welcome to simply call us directly with any concerns and we can focus on helping your patients

Amiel Nuchovich: Inexperienced providers that are more interested in being called "Doctor" than patient care. Confusing and unprofessional administrative services. Prescriptions are NEVER sent out on time. Profit-driven: I had an insurance lapse and Gladstone cancelled my appt, have not reached out since. Guess they're happy to let patients' Rxs run out AMA.

Kendall Julian: I actually want to laugh at how frustrating this company can be. They never answer the phone, never call you back, never respond to emails. Just extremely unorganized. I stopped going here over two years ago when the billing department tried to tell me I have over 700$ in fees that was never told to me, never once mailed, or anything. I tried to take care of it over the phone and the office sent me to the "billing" person. After talking to her for two days, the third day I was told she quit and they had someone new. I started the process all over again. By the end I paid a ridiculous amount of fees, on top of my co-pay, and STILL had to battle to get appointments. Now, two years later, I have been calling to get a copy of all of my records, as they are not in my patient portal. I called on Tuesday, was told I would have them emailed by the end of the day. I called Wednesday to simply confirm they had my email and was rudely told by the front desk female who answered the phone "The doctor needs 48 hours minimum. We have your email and will be in touch." I said okay thank you. Now it is FRIDAY, over 48 hours, and nobody will answer the phone. Hands down the most frustrating company in health care I have ever dealt with in my life. This is exactly why I left and I want to laugh because two years later I am reminded of prior frustrations. Update: I finally got ahold of someone and they told me it'll be 24-48 to get the records. Which is what they told me on TUESDAY. So basically, the request never got put in and they have NO clue what they're doing.

Charmaine Nokuri: I left a message in the portal to schedule an appointment and waited, apparently my provider is no longer there but I only found out by looking at the site. Tried several times to call, was on hold for 20 mins each time and selected call back. I cant have my phone on me 24/7 so it was playing phone tag. Very disappointed with the customer service to say the least. People struggling with debilitating mental health issues shouldnt have to good through this. and calling the ER and spending thousands for a an issue that can be handled with a call to your provider isnt really viable or sustainable.

Lindsay Harris: I was referred to Gladstone by my PCP. I tried several times to contact them for an appointment but no one ever answered the phone. I also left voicemails and sent emails, but received no response. You would think a mental health facility would be better about connecting with persons seeking help. I warn anyone seeking urgent care to go elsewhere. Do better Gladstone.
Response: Lindsay, thanks for pointing out problems with our phone system. As you look through Google reviews, you will see this is the main complaint about Gladstone. Prior to the pandemic, we really didn't need a great phone system, as most of our interactions with patients and others were in person. Last year, I decided to spend a sizable amount on a major phone system upgrade using Genesys. Unfortunately, the implementation process was quite unprofessional and took many months. And once we changed over to Genesys phone services, our ability to answer calls markedly declined. Since then, we've been working with their quality team to make things right. Gladstone exists to provide high quality behavioral health services to people who want to use their commercial insurance benefits. Really, everyone who works here believes in this mission, and it's very sad to hear of poor service problems outside of our control. Our phone systems will improve, and in short order we'll be back to delivering the overall level of service we can be proud of. For now, I wish you the best in your journey to get better.

Bryce E: I've been in psychiatry for the better part of 10 years, and have never had as many difficulties as i have had with this particular practice, despite only being a patient of their for 2 of those 10 years. The front desk staff is rude, inefficient, and lacking all customer service skills. I've had to fight for medication refills, and have the pharmacy contact them directly because they refused to believe me when I advised that the pharmacy did not have a refill request on file. Did they say the'd call you back? Don't hold your breath. The location is inconvenient, the parking is inconvenient. The only reason i continued going was because my psychiatrist (Dr. U) was great, but she is no longer with the practice. I can only assume she found a practice more aligned with her professionalism, and skill. Good for her. For all else... seek treatment elsewhere. This place isn't worth the headache..especially when you're already a patient dealing with mental health issues.

Megan Dickerson: I scheduled an appointment weeks ago and after getting a reminder for it, my appointment got cancelled. Morgan claims I called and cancelled it myself when I never called. Quite concerning that these people are allowing others to cancel their patients appointments. Either that- or they’re lying to their patients. Extremely rude staff. Will not be rescheduling with them and would absolutely not recommend.

A K: Gladstone office provides cutting edge care and experts in the field like Anthony Massey and Vonetta Davis to the Baltimore area. Vonetta Davis is the absolute. Her multiple specialties allow her to treat at a very, very personalized medication level but also allows care for large groups looking for a solution. She actually THINKS and PROCESSES what you are saying. First doctor I have ever truly been honest with about everything. She advocates and goes above and beyond where others are not willing to do so or take longer than the government to get an answer. Her treatment is honest, proven, tailored and works. She’s fearless in her passion for providing hope and care to help people function even under extreme circumstances. Basically what we all want in our doctors but seems to be more an exception than standard these days. Dr. Massey is legendary as well. Highly recommend any Gladstone office. Not just for the coffee, tea, candy and snacks. I could write about my other experiences here but the bottom line is no matter your illness, the way healthcare is today, we are our own advocates . It’s especially hard as a psych patient, but no harder than someone fighting cancer I suppose. Just because you have cancer doesn’t mean you automatically get a caring doctor. It sucks but it’s the truth. It’s even infuriating. Let the anger go and ask for recommendations on providers. Hell, they say Hopkins is #1 right? Well why am I still undiagnosed and getting worse every day? She hooked me and now I’m being let down so I have to find other options If you’re losing all hope, check in at Sheppard Pratt crisis for the day program. Short term res: st. Joes is good but Franklin square has chx waffles on the menu and real soda at night.put it on your ceiling “I will find a good provider and things will get better” God Bless

Kathryn Brashears: Gladstone is wonderful. The receptionist staff members are always kind, welcoming and helpful. I see Fabius Santos for my care and he is fantastic. He helped me with the challenging process of tapering off an SSNRI to find a safer medicine that is a better fit for me. He looked at my care as a whole picture, taking into consideration my many medical issues when helping me find a new medication. I feel very comfortable with him and I'm really grateful to be a patient of his. Very happy I went to Gladstone!

Amanda Segal: horrible. called 4 times. first time they said they would call me back by the end of the day. no one did. I left 4 messages no one returned them. finally called one last time and someone answered and said they never received them. i called the only number i have. if the people who answer the phone don not direct me to the correct place that is not my fault. however not receiving calls back and being lied to before even making an appointment is terrible and an awful inclination of what would come next. awful that a place like this does this especially when they are needed the most. so sad and very disappointing.

American University Student Health Center: what do users think?

Madison Siciliano: Horrific and embarrassing. I had an appointment with the health center to get a simple refill on a prescription (which I was only given one fill on to begin with even though it was a prescription that I had been using for years). I was not aware that the health center now has two different entrances for COVID related symptoms and other patients. I went to the side of the health center that has always been the main entrance, and waited to talk to the front desk person for ten minutes as they went back and forth with another student over an issue they were having. Finally they spoke to me and informed me I was at the wrong place to check in, and I walked to the other side of the health center where I was told my appointment had been cancelled because I was late. I explained what happened and that I wasn't late, and the person who delayed my appointment even came over and acknowledged what happened. Even though they apologized for their wrongdoing, they refused to see me and they had no more appointments for that day. I was completely out of my medication and needed the refill that day or else my health could be jeopardized. Despite me explaining all of this, they continued to refuse to have an NP see me and told me "it wouldn't be fair for other people if I delayed their appointment." It really would have taken all of a minute for an NP to push through a new prescription for a medication I already had filled by the student health center, but why would anyone at the health center actually care about students' health? I was told to go to the CVS on Wisconsin Avenue and that they couldn't help me. I went to the CVS minute clinic and they had no appointments. Because of all of this, I had to go to the ER just to get my medication urgently refilled, and I also had to skip my shift at work that day to make sure my medication was addressed timely which impacted me financially. If you can avoid going to the student health center DON'T GO. Their negligence is disturbing.

Lily Coleman: Was not going to post a review until the second inconvenience occurred. First issue is when I arrived for an appointment, scheduled days in advance, for a literal infection and was told I could not be seen. Why? Because the N.P. was busy, even though I was the first appointment of the day as stated by the receptionist. I went to a clinic day after as HC is closed on weekends, and was immediately put on antibiotics as my condition was only worsening. More recently, I went for a fever of over 100 that had last for over three days (tested neg. for both Cov/Flu), and was prescribed cough medicine. 5 days later I am seriously unwell, again go to clinic and find I have a sinus infection that had likely started upwards of two weeks prior. Not sure how it could have been missed, and am now playing catch-up with antibiotics after missing 1 week of class. Just go... idk anywhere else?

Erin Taylor: Absolutely impossible to get into contact with anyone from the health center - you can call and email for months and never get a reply. It's ridiculous. I've called at least four times and never even spoken to a person - always a machine. I have sent at least six unanswered emails over the last three months. Also - it is a huge pain to opt out of the insurance. Insurance should be opt in, NOT opt out. They will ignore your waiver and charge you 1200 bucks for insurance you don't need and didn't know you were being charged for. And then you won't be able to get in contact with anyone to fix the issue.

Melaninluxx: Had an incredibly rude and off putting experience on the phone with be constantly cut off while speaking, having my questions dismissed and an overall disregard for anything I was saying. It’s actually sad we’re in a pandemic and clearly customer service skills aren’t needed to do customer service at AU. It’s a health center, endless students are getting sick but don’t want to deal with poor attitudes. Note to self: never get sick on campus because that was actually ridiculous

Caroline Butler: Worst admin staff, some are rude and overtly aggressive with students. Horrible response rate to inquiries. Put my health at risk by not filling prescriptions timely. Scheduling an appointment takes weeks because no one answers the phone, no one calls back. I have had to go to Deans to get the health center to respond to my calls. All I can say is don’t got here, it’s not worth it.

Yareni Murillo: fine experience. lovely staff. Adore Dr. white!

Ian W: Just wait until you die it would be quicker

Jacob Naim: Professional and good listeners

Cody Rogers: Very nice!

Howard University Hospital: what do users think?

Zina Jones: I was there this month. May 2022. The ER staff was efficient, patient and kind. The emergency room was clean, even the bathrooms were clean. Security was alert and understanding. My brother was a little loud and vocal and the security guard was very understanding. He said my brother is just worried about me. That was awesome. The staff that checked me in was ok. The triage staff was excellent.. Thanks so much for a job well done. The Doctor techs and nurses were professional and comforting.. Thank you so much

Evan Glassman: Not gonna lie when I was sitting in the waiting room with my head leaking from a huge gash I got from slipping on my own pee, I decided to check the reviews on google. After seeing the measly 2.4 stars, I was scared they were gonna make my cut worse or even forget about me. I was completely wrong. Service was efficient. The nurse was really kind and she stitched me up effortlessly. Would definitely come back if I slip on my own pee again. Thanks guys.

bria bailey: I don’t even know how this hospital is still open. My grandfather was having a heart attack and when they told him that they were taking him to Howard hospital he stayed home. This place has no empathy at all. The staff is rude. Lazy. Disrespectful. The emergency room acts as if you are an inconvenience by actually going there. Nobody has phone etiquette and manners. Whoever the man is running the emergency room has no business dealing with people. I legit hate this hospital and only go if I feel like Im dying. If you read this PLEASE GO TO SIBLEY HOSPITAL THEY ACTUALLY CARE.

Brandi Lawrence: Sad. Truly sad. Front door staff member was noticeably drunk. You could smell the liquor on his breathe, blood shot eyes, no customer service, talking with coworkers instead of leading patients and guest..and giving out wrong information at the front desk. Get to the floor advertised online for the Dr. Appt. it's wrong. Told by two nurses, I'm in the wrong building. Walk next door, and then was told, I was in the right building the first time. Go back to the hospital get to the Endocrinology department. This lady is literally losing her breathe and throwing up in the waiting area. We're signaling the nurses and front desk to assist. They were busy in their cell phones and talking amongst each other. This lady is literally coughing, chocking, vomiting NOTICEABLY. We're like please help her...one of brushed me off thinking I was asking to step in the hall. I'm like lady, NO someone is literally out here struggling to breathe.. HELP HER! They were acting clueless and sat there at least 2 minutes before they helped her to ER. It was the craziest thing I've ever experienced at a hospital. I won't be back. I wouldn't send a pet rat to this hospital. I'll just redo the whole Dr. appt at another facility.

Anonymous: I had my first born Son at this Hospital and I was spoiled. The Doctor's, Nurses and staff were extremely helpful that I thought this is how a woman that is pregnant should be treated. I had my daughter at Shady Grove, and boy, the differences were extreme. I thought the level of care at Howard will be expected at other facilities. The staff at Howard treated me like a real person, they were caring, accomodating and I felt I was treated as if I were one of their family members. At other hospitals, I was just another patient. Please do not talk bad about Howard, they treated me extremely well in a difficult situation.

Rhonda26: Good afternoon my name is Rhonda I am 3months pregnant on Sunday January 16 2022 I couldn't breath, I couldn't drink, couldn't eat, or keep anything down for 4days so I decided to attend the emergency room witch was Howard university hospital. When I arrive to the emergency room my husband and I we didn't know how the rules and regulations was we didn't know he couldn't sit in the emergency room with me . But nurse Tiffany was going make sure we found out very soon. At this point we sitting waiting to be seen! nurse Tiffany never told us he couldn't stay instead she go get officer Jones to come remove my husband witch I thought was a little extra . So as he quietly walking my husband out the door I said out loud but to myself that's why I like Washington hospital center better ...nurse Tiffany decided to say real loud from all the way behind the curtain she was working we'll why you come to this hospital if you don't like it go to Washington hospital. I said ms. I wasn't talking to you so please stop talking to me like that's your job she takes apon herself to go get doctor as if I was about to hurt her . To put me out the hospital the doctor didn't see what happen he didn't get both sides he immediately says get out I'm not working on you he was the only doctor there and they put me out the hospital as bad as I felt I just took the names down that's how I know who was involved. doctor Brian put me out and of course i had no choice but to go to Washington hospital center where I recovered and was treated nice . I never thought I would experience anything like that in my life. But I wanna thank officer Jones for being so respectful to a pregnant sick woman .

Shannon: I was referred to see a specialist by the specialist's former colleague. It's now clearer why I've NEVER voluntarily went to HUH. Upon arrival at the information desk, a new employee starting that day came to work with a hood bonnet on. I heard her say to the person at the information desk, "I'm a new employee starting today." I looked with raised eyebrows. I walked off to get the elevator, another young lady in scrubbs is waiting also. Once the elevator doors opened, she attempted to enter side by side with me, pandemic be damned. I get to the specialist office and check in. While sitting completing two forms, I witnessed the receptionist pulling messages off the phone left by patients via speaker for everyone in the waiting room to hear. Raised eyebrows in disbelief. When the nurse came in for pre-screening, she's taking all the information to the questions she asks by hand writing on scratch paper. I say to her, "how does these notes make it into my medical record?" She stated the doctor would put it in. I said, "Howard received a $40m donation by MacKenzie Scott and you're manually taking medical notes?" During my consultation with the Doctor I disclosed what the receptionist did letting the doctor know I'd never call there and leave a message because of what I witnessed. With my consultation closing, the treatment plan the doctor wanted me to start required lab work. I opted to get it done there to expedite the process, bad idea. Labcorp is their in house lab. Extremely small room, unprofessional phlebotomist. The one that attended to me was utilizing her phone (speaker) listening to music with her mask below her nose giving non-verbal commands as if I was supposed to know what those commands meant. This is why I DON'T go to GW, VETERANS, WASHINGTON or HOWARD hospitals.

Lamaria Washington: I go to this hospital cafe a lot and it is normally a pleasant experience but yesterday (5/15/22) I came and brought some grapes. After eating a few, I realized that some of the grapes had mold in them. I checked the label to see that these grapes were 10 days expired. I returned the next day and checked the other grapes and saw that the label had been removed so customers could no longer see the expiration date.

Shaunta Gilchrist: On March 13th 2021 I was scheduled to give birth to my daughter and we arrived on time and there wasn’t no doctor on the floor until the next morning. Following that they continued to want me to have a c-section which I refused. The bed I was on was broken and the feet rest didn’t work. Well during pushing my daughter out two days later the foot rest broke completely and my legs dropped while I was pushing which caused the epidural to turn and almost fall out. I know have severe nerve damage to my right leg and can’t feel it from the knee to the inner thigh. I have a lawyer involved and plan on going all the way. I had to stop breast feeding because of the medications they had me on. Absolutely horrible

jose Navarro: Do Not go here if you’re pregnant and planning on giving birth here!!!! I’ve been to L&D like 3 times for emergency due to pregnancy every time I go there they never find anything wrong I feel like they are just being lazy when I arrived to the L&D section all the nurses were in their phone didn’t even want to see me because they didn’t want to work at all. If anything goes wrong in your labor and delivery they won’t be able to find it. I ended going to Medstar hospital after going here an boom there was a Problem in my pregnancy like I suspected. So don’t trust this hospital at all they don’t care

Carolina Psychiatry: what do users think?

John Puntel: Carolina Psychiatry is a very well put together psychiatry practice with a very calming yet private atmosphere. I drive 90 minutes each way for the appointments and it is worth every minute. I didn’t have any private psychiatrist near me, but will gladly travel here to attend my psychiatry appointment face to face. I am a busy professional, but the psychiatry practice always figures out a way to work with me on scheduling, so that I can be seen without prolonged intervals between appointments. They have one of the best psychiatrist, I have ever seen. I would highly recommend any of the doctors available at Carolina Psychiatry treating the various types of mental illnesses
Response: We appreciate this thoughtful and kind review

Kate Elizabeth: I highly recommend Coastal Carolina Psychiatry to anyone seeking mental health services. In current times it isn't easy to find a caring and understanding physician. Rebecca Kaye: Carolina Psychiatry has been especially professional and helpful in recent times of need. The option of having a private psychiatrist near me for anxiety has been a life saver. The practice has wonderful and compassionate physicians who truly understands what a patient’s needs are. I have been able to get ‘next day appointments,’ on several occasions and have never felt rushed. I am grateful to have them as a resource. The psychiatric care has been excellent

Rebecca Smith: “I highly recommend Dr. Bridge to anyone looking for a local psychiatrist with a great approach to treatment. He is truly concerned about improving his patients’ well-being and considers the overall picture of health. At the same time, he is very professional and knowledgeable and I felt like I was in extremely capable hands. The private office location and weekend availability for appointments adds to the outstanding patient care experience“
