Takoma Aquatic Center: what do users think?

James: For those wondering, it is still closed and under renovation. Will the pool ever reopen?

Anna Katt: The facilities are clean and well-maintained. There are plenty of areas for recreational activity as well as lap swimming. They offer some great swim camps for kids. The pool temperature is a tad warm for those looking for more of a competitive swimming style workout but very comfortable for leisure laps.

d B: Solid lap pool, with accessories. Fun kid pool with splash features. Locker rooms much improved, but always big and with good water. Better light and air now, and centrifuges. No hot tub. Strong chlorine smell. :( free to DC res.

Andrew Fitch: Great location for a pool and fitness center (short walk from metro). Weight room has all the equipment and machines you would expect a gym to have. Pool has plenty of dedicated swim lanes. Bring your own lock! Lockers no longer have preinstalled locks on them, and stuff can go missing even if you bring it out on deck with you.

Liz Burman McEntire: The pool is clean, I can consistently find a lane within a few minutes of getting to the pool, lockers are secure and free, the showers are private and comfortable. Staff are also super friendly. When I forgot to bring a swim cap or a hair-tye and tired to maneuver my goggles to keep my hair out of my face, the office staff gave me a swim cap out of lost and found so I could finish my workout. This is easily my favorite DCPR aquatics center in DC.

A FEW GOOD COLLE MEN Movers: Takoma rocks for lap swimmer and pools goers. It underwent a major locker room reno a few years back.Covid restrictions are in effect (god job by the way).Appointment necessary

DC Ernest: Into my 3rd month of 2-days a week weight training and swimming. Just increased my workout to three days a week. My summer body is showing off. Like the atmosphere and nice people. Highly recommend these facilities.

Deanwood Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Bobbi DeAnda: This place is amazing, but your experience there will likely depend if the lifeguard on duty. Online it says the slide is open from 1-4 so we came at 2 and the lifeguard on duty shut it down because they’re understaffed. The next lifeguard opened it up for a bit when we asked for it but also said they are understaffed and technically need more lifeguards on duty to have it open. The water is chilly at first but it’s warm inside so you adjust (nothing like Rumsey lol). There was an underwater spin class happening too - so cool! There’s also free life jackets, kick boards, and noodles! There’s a gradual entrance - perfect for toddlers (the splash features were off though). I love the huge windows letting the sunlight in. We will definitely be back! Would be 5 stars if they get it fully staffed so everyone can enjoy the slide!

Tiana Lynn: Been a DC resident all my life. First time here and it is lovely. DC has really done a nice job renovating everything. Way back it was a no go hence why I’m here for the first time at 35 lol

deanwood fox: Pool is great. Weekday mornings allow 4 adult workouts and laps. Sat mornings full of kids till about 2pm.

Sara Sullivan: A delughtfil place for water aerobics except when the boiler that keep the pool warm don t work. The staff is excellent

Tarneshia Rogers: Usually go to Ridge Road Outdoor pool but it closes on Thursday. My kids really enjoyed the indoor pool too. No sun beaming on my babies is a plus too.

Cory Matthews: Great staff!!! We love our times there!!

William H Rumsey Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Edward Heid: Clean facilities and they just repaired the mens locker room showers. Still need to fix the entry doors. My neighborhood pool so I love having a “free” pool I can walk to. Bring a lock for your locker, don’t tempt fate. Limited Lap Lanes Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 11:00am-12:30pm 5:30pm-8:30pm Tuesday & Thursday 9:00am-10:30am 5:30pm-8:30pm

Rebecca Oldfield-Frey: A great free municipal pool! Would I eat off the locker room floor? No. But they do a good job keeping the pool clean and between 80 and 83 degrees. I love having access to this space.

Ian Lever: Had a very good experience here on a Saturday morning. It was not too crowded and facilities were in pretty great shape. Nice to have a publicly accessible aquatic center in the neighborhood.

Bobbi DeAnda: Didn’t even take pics because we didn’t stay - broken facilities and freezing. We were told heater on the main pool has been broken for 2 months when we asked why it was so cold (I’m talking ICE BATH COLD). The baby pool is broken as well - for at least 2 years according to someone who works there. I’d consider trying it out again if they fix the facilities but as of now, we will not be back.

Kromeklia Bryant: I often go here to exercise during the week. Weekends can be busy. Avoid at all costs during the summer, unless you are a lap swimmer! Go early anytime before 10 am.

cat wu: Rating is base on a Wed. 6-8pm experience. Bathroom was in a very decent condition, floor was not dirty and has soap and paper. There were 4 lanes open even with the team practicing. Pool doesn’t have strong smell and with comfortable temperature. Hope this is not a one time thing.

Washington-Liberty Aquatics Center: what do users think?

Brenda Fonseca: Clean, water is not cold (it is nice to see my daughter swiming without purple lips or shaking).

Nassim Safadi: This pool is very nice. Have a big changing room with shower and a locker space for you belonging. The kids swim lesson is fun the instructors are very knowledgeable they take time with kids to learn how to independent swimmers

Sarah Cox: We had a blast with our 5yo son. The pool was a bit cold. It worked well when our hotel who advertised a pool did not have one! Thank you!

JX Mrs: I took several swimming lessons here, and the instructors were very nice and I learned a lot. What drive me down to give a 1 star is the management team. After the lessons I got a 3-month membership with this location. However now, they are closed for almost half month. They don’t notice you with email, they just assume you know everything. I emailed the manager to ask if my membership will be extend to make up the half month they close for maintenance, and now 4or 5 days passed, I received nothing reply upon my question. I guess I paid for nothing. Horrible management team, although the good environment of swimming is ruined and wasted. That’s how I feel now with this place!

Vinni: This is a great pool, with six Lanes, sometimes eight Lanes, but it certainly gets crowded Monday through Thursday evening after work. Be ready to swim 3 to a lane on those evenings. Best times to go for it not being crowded is Friday night

Mason Eoyang: The kids area gets real crowded in the evenings with classes, and so. Times its a struggle to find a lane, but the facilities are nice, well staffed and reasonably clean for a public pool. Arlington county residents get a discount for entry, all others pay full price (check website for current prices)

Sofía Fonseca Muñoz: It is a very nice pool and they are very organized for avoid contact due to covid. The booking system is nice, I just wish that you could book two days in advance or so.

Michael Goldring: Washington-Lee is a great facility. I always get a good workout there. The competition pool is very well designed and maintained. The water quality and temperature are excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is open both to residents and non-residents. I travel a lot, and swim in many pools. Washington-Lee is one of the best anywhere.

john jonson: 10 swim lanes open seven days a week. It can get crowded so plan on having to share the swim lane. It could be improved by better management as there are often multiple classes going on at once with 1 lane open for everyone else.

Dunbar Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Katherine Tobin: Large pool (8x25 yards) with fairly wide lanes. Free for DC residents. Locker rooms are basic but clean enough. There are kick boards, pull buoys, and fins available to borrow. Note that sometimes the door will be locked in the mornings but if you knock loudly, someone from the front desk will come and let you in.

krystle mudd-neclos: Went to Dunbar accompany students from my elementary school where theyre participating in a program to learn how to swim! Lovely school, and Amazing Aquatic Center!

Seth Van Heukelom: Awesome staff, pool, and facilities. A bit dated but as long as I can swim from one end to the other I don’t care. Pool temperature was perfect for me but I like it on the cooler side. Locals made a visitor feel at home. Be ready to circle swim during the week. Weekends are pretty open. Will definitely come back here when I visit D.C. again.

Lisa Pratt: Very friendly staff. Clean, nice pool but has a bit of a "current" according to the really good swimmers.

Antonio martinez: Best indoor pool I had been to in dc very clean and everyone in really nice the locker rooms are clean they even offer you a small dryer to dry you swimming suit in the locker rooms

Rodrigo Fernandez: This pool is nice, it has plenty of lanes, plenty of locker space, and friendly staff... the water is a bit too warm though

Turkey Thicket Aquatic Facility: what do users think?

Bobbi DeAnda: This pool is HUGE! Water was pretty cold but not as cold as Rumsey…you can adjust to this lol. AND there’s a hot tub!!!!! I always appreciated a ramp entry for the little ones as well. There’s plenty of places to sit (bleachers), it’s warm inside the facility (that’s what made the water temp more bearable too) and there’s lap lanes and a diving board! Overall good. Will definitely be back!

Mary Evans: Very friendly staff. Clean and not too crowded.

Jessica Martinez: What looks to be a nice and clean pool is an actual pool that is dirty. The staff is so rude in particularly an elder lifeguard (guy). We were there no longer than 10 minutes when he was yelling across the pool. He was rude as ever and blowing his whistle every two minutes for no reason. The water was freezing even in the baby pool which is unacceptable. I am highly unsatisfied and will never bring my kids.

Wilson Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Hanna Foreman: Great neighborhood pool. The staff is friendly and place is fairly well maintained for a public pool. However, finding a lane can be hard during the post 5pm rush so plan accordingly since you will be competing with swim classes and other 9-5ers.

armis sadri: I’ve been a competitive swimmer & lifeguard for years. Unfortunately DC public amenities have never been of good quality and this applies to this public swimming pool. Honestly doesn’t deserve a one-star. 1. Wilson pool is always full. I tried coming on early mornings, mid-day & afterwork and 5-6 lines are always closed no matter what for different and random classes and meet ups and so called lack of staff while they literally do push ups and play group activities near the children pool. It’s intentional as enough staff walk around the pool doing nothing or are in the life guard room checking phones. 2. After work during the week is awful since besides those 5-6 closed lines, 3 ppl end up swimming in a lane which should be illegal and while you’re swimming random meet up groups show up claiming it’s their line so ppl end up waiting 10-15mins for two lanes and they don’t allow you to swim in the children’s pool. It’s a joke just wasting your time arguing with staff who have no common sense and threaten you to call police if you swim in children pool 3. Stay away from this pool as it’s too dirty with no supervise. Once I was swimming and noticed some stuff goes into my mouth went down deep and noticed there were so many used bandaids in the water, let the lifeguard know and they just came and said gross, didn’t even bother to close the lane and clean. 4. Amenities and shower are so gross and dirty full of empty bottles of shampoo and ppl’s hair clogging the shower. 5. Brought all these issues to the attention of pool’s manger and DC team and no response just heard it is what is. 6. Nothing is posted on their webpage in terms of what classes at what times are going, what lanes or how many lanes will be closed or they’ll be closed because of an event you go all the way and noticed sth on the door so call in advance. 7. As a swimmer, I tried three competition pools in Virginia (NOVA) and regret living in DC, the VA pools were so clean and well maintained. DC residents suffer with such low quality and scarce public amenities and council members. 8. Avoid this pool unless you have no option and just want to go swim, do lapses in your lunch break hoping you won’t get sick.

Murad Efendiev: This is bar none the best public pool in dmv area. it needs maintenance but overall unbeatable. not for swimmers who like warm water.

kathleen gough: Great pool, family changing rooms are not in great shape, but the pool itself is worth it.

John Clisham: I just called to get some swim team information... the young man on the other end was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Tristana Fiscella: Such an amazing pool. Olympic size! Check ahead about which way the lanes go that day. Also there is a large hot tub and a very, very robust kiddy pool area! Afterwards grab a bite at the Whole Foods salad bar or a smoothie at Robeks and hop on the H bus! The sunlight coming through the building really makes this pool awesome.

Chris Peckham: It can be busy at times, but hands down my favorite public pool. The hot tub is amazing.

Eric Wuechner: About one theft (locker break in) a week, according to the police, so purchase a heavy-duty lock, and you should be ok. The pool can be frigid, so be prepared. M, W, F, S 50 meter pool.

Langdon Park Pool: what do users think?

Paul Barbour: Went on a Sunday in June. Very very busy. No shade to Hide out in during those annoying 15 minute breaks. There is a splash park there also which is nice for the smaller kids.

LAKINYA SOWELL: I really like the new pool set up.. more kid friendly than before.

Bobbi DeAnda: OMG THIS POOL IS THE BEST! We went to rosedale all summer but it had to close early on the last day so we went to this one and I wish we found it earlier! It’s SUPER baby/toddler friendly. The pool has a sloped entrance, essentially a baby pool AND a separate splash park with a slide. Additionally, during adult swim the splash park is still open so kids can still have fun. Needs more chairs, but other than that, this place is amazing. It’s a bit far for us, but we will definitely come visit again next summer!

Cardell Love: Great place for swimming it also have a water park for the children. Unfortunately the park is not wheelchair accessible to the park across the street you would have to travel an entire city block to go around to get to the other side to the playground area. It is not wheelchair or power chair accessible

Jacqueline Monroe: Great place....when I was 10yrs old...now the park&poll has changed so much...not a fun as it was before...however the children seem to enjoy.

Tanya Smalls: Memorial Day at Langdon Pool was packed but nice! I give it 4 stars because it did not have a family changing room. I have two young grandboys with special needs and I would like to keep an eye on them.

Lila Anderson: Its a nice place as always, there are not enough chairs for a big crowd so if you your own portable chair you can take it in with you.

Joey Abrams: City Life as it was meant to be. Community members and kids together, talking, friendly, playing, laughing, learning. Rehab of this facility is strikingly sufficient. Perfectly sized for the neighborhood. Pay the lifeguards more; they earn it!

Francis Outdoor Pool: what do users think?

Sam Odle: We came for dog swim day at the end of summer and our pup had a blast.

beth peralta-reed: Great pool. Lap swimming available. Kid pool with a beach entrance. Maditory rest time for kids so that adults get some time in the pool without kids. The deep end opens around midday during the week. My only complaint is that the restrooms are kinda gross. One of the stalls in the women’s locker room has been locked for a couple weeks, two of the stalls don’t lock at all and none of the stalls have working toilet paper holders so the roll of toilet paper always ends up on the floor.

Jiya Sohal: It’s a beautiful poop and it’s not too crowded and if it is it’s mostly people sun bathing so the pool is very open and it’s separated in three parts so if your child is playing in water it won’t go to the deep end. I mostly loved how deep it goes and so you can challenge your self if you are trying to dive down to touch bottom and it goes down to 12feet and 5 inches. I was also surprised how clean it was even though there’s many tree near it and you definitely go there except on Tuesday there closed that day and this is my go to pool

B VanFleet: This pool needs better management. They force people into only 3 narrow lane for no apparent reason. There are two lifeguards who seem not want to do what a lifeguard is paid to do. If you open at noon you should have everything in place and opporational.

Bryan De Rosa: I just discovered this park as part of my kickball league. have not used the pool, but have had a number of practices and watched a few games. great location, close proximity to Georgetown, trader joes, and other cool places. this is perfect for families

Del Williams: Clean, but busy with kids. The best place is the deep end. They tests the children before they can swim in the deep end. If you are not early odds are you won’t get a chair. Oddly no one uses the lockers.

Lisa Mueller: Smaller DC pool, near the woods, and Costco. This is a nice location and there is a more traditional playground and a neat, but older built into the terrain playground in the nearby park in Fort Lincoln. There is a parking lot.

oteia jones: This pool is never over packed.... And I love this location. Not a lot of shade so if u want a tan go here!

Albert Charles: Nice community pool

Rocklord Ent: Great Pool. Life guards were very professional and place was clean

Harry Thomas Recreation Center: what do users think?

Bobbi DeAnda: This is THE coolest park ever! I wish i had this park as a kid! There’s an AMAZING little kid park with a soft surface and big kid park and SWINGS! There’s so few parks in the city with swings - but there’s three kinds here. Also a big field with workout equipment, tennis court, basketball court, and the pool!

David Andrew Finkelstein: Awesome pool. Good mix of adults and families come here but I have always been able to find a chair even at peak times. Much prefer it to Banneker. Street parking can be annoying but it’s usually not too bad.

Annegret Hünerfürst: Best playground of all I went to with my 2 kids. Very spacious and a lot to explore. Swings for every age.

Fabiana Perera: Beautiful pool with draconian rules. They close the pool for “adult swim” even when there are no child-free adults here. Instead of opening the kiddie pool at that time they keep it closed for no good reason. I have no idea what triggered the end-of-fun whistle but I hope it doesn’t happen to you if you come here with kids.

Luisa Parra: This is great playground for small and big kids! You can also go for a jog around it. Definitely a great spot to go with kids or even by yourself.

Brett Syndergaard: This is the place to play some pick up ultimate fris. Scoober up broheim!

Caleb P: The playground areas are great. The little kid playground area is not shaded, but the rest are. The gardens surrounding the park are all over run with weeds. Too bad, cause I bet they were gorgeous when the park was new. Pool odd only open weekdays and Saturdays after 12.

JEANNIE JOHNSON VOICEOVERS Cool. Clear. Confident.: Excellent aqua fitness program with Jeannie (a.k.a. Aquagirl J) a dynamic, AEA certified trainer... GREAT BOOT CAMP SPLASH, HYDRO SPIN, & DEEP WATER programs!!! Check Jeannie out for amazing classes!

SBT_U: Very nice place. Indoor and outdoor pool both at the perfect temperature. Nice gym small but equipment is new and looks clean, Locker rooms with showers and saunas, and prices are good. Overall I think it’s worth a visit.

Cynthia Webb-Manly: Small place that caters to residents. They got bikes for spin class bu it takes at least two people to put or take bikes in or out of small pool without a ramp but has sloped sides.

Xavier Barraza: Great so far. Nothing fancy, but for the lack of (Dbags hogging benches taking selfies), its great. No corporate bs (WSC), small business owned, friendly staff, nice pool and great community atmosphere.

Carl Romero: Great staff and members. All knowledgeable and friendly. Not the biggest gym in the world but has all the necessary equipment for most people’s workouts.

Anthony Celey: The experience was good the pool was warm but the dressing rooms could be warmer

Steve O: This is a great pool facility. It will be nice when they return the locker rooms to full operating ability. The hand/hair dryers and suit dryer would be especially nice during the colder months. Assume they are off due to COVID.

Jean Horner: Renovated in 2013. Large windows let light in. I used to bring the kids when they were little and we had a long weekend. It felt like a vacation for a couple hours

Maria: Water is ok, salty somehow but no complaints since it’s a public pool. Parking is easy. Not crowded. I typically go there after work and I can always find a spot. Women’s shower room can really use some improvement. Drainage is not working, shower area is flooded, a lot of showers don’t work properly and some of the lights are broken. Swimming suit dryer is broken.

Randall Pool: what do users think?

Rachel Haywood: I’ve only been to this pool a handful of times but I’ve had a great experience every time. The pool has a slanted entrance at one end of the pool, like you’re entering into the ocean, which is great for little kids to play in. The surface area surrounding the pool is huge so you can spread out nicely. There is a huge covered area for those who want shade. The water has always been clean and cool when I’ve gone. The bathroom area is big and clean. Lots of showers and changing rooms. I think they usually have three lifeguards there. Every 45 minutes or hour (I think) there is a 15 break where everyone has to get out of the pool. What I don’t like is that there is a building going up right next to the pool that will block a lot of sun that the area currently gets. That of course isn’t any thing that parks and rec can help, just an unfortunate change that is coming. I have been to Francis Pool in NW and I like this pool way better. Cleaner bathrooms, chairs that aren’t broke and are clean. I was surprised how poorly kept up Francis Pool facilities are compared to this one. Would definitely recommend Randall Pool!

Charmaine Williams: Go visit! We visited on a Monday and it was only two other families there. The pool itself and the seating area surrounding it is large. The pool was pretty clean outside of the occasional floating hair and a small bug or two. The ladies room was really large and clean as well. One thing I like about this pool is the entrance (see picture). It’s similar to a beach the way you can walk inside and sit on the edge. There were plenty of staff and lifeguards. They have an entire rack of different sized swimming vest to wear, so no need to go out and buy one to visit here. I made sure to include a picture of operating hours as of right now.

Linda Whitfield: This pool is great the only problem is that some of the staff is very rude and unprofessional

Dave Watts: This is a nice little neighborhood pool. Today was Doggie Day, so I went to take pictures of the dogs swimming in the pool. They loved it!

Jeriesha Blount: i love this pool, its quiet and great for small kids.

Ileana James: Great pool for babies. Staff could be a little more professional at front desk.

Marika Wieliczko: Great pool for babies.

Allentown Splash, Tennis & Fitness Park: what do users think?

Rich B: Nice pool and friendly staff. Pool area needs better filtration to avoid breathing so much chlorine. Assisted doors for wheel chair access have been locked on weekends for years according to staff so not wheel chair accessible even though they have pool chairs for people with disabilities.

Cathy Mcduffie: Love this pool. Staff are very friendly, pool and hot tub water temps are good. Changing room and showers are clean.

Virginia Newman-Yates: I received the sweetest reception and service. I was able to register for my upcoming water aerobic classes. My mission was pleasantly accomplished. Kudos to Ms. Charlene and the other young lady that was on duty.

May Saffar: great customer service, clean, good size pool, I like their early opening hours

The Cheeks Connection: The splash was extremely clean and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had an awesome time.
