Takoma Aquatic Center: what do users think?

James: For those wondering, it is still closed and under renovation. Will the pool ever reopen?

Anna Katt: The facilities are clean and well-maintained. There are plenty of areas for recreational activity as well as lap swimming. They offer some great swim camps for kids. The pool temperature is a tad warm for those looking for more of a competitive swimming style workout but very comfortable for leisure laps.

Kemi Tignor: Large, clean, and well maintained facility. Good for adult swim, great for families, and just perfect for tots and babies who can enjoy their own rather large "little people's pool" with water toys built in! 👶🏾 Mom (or Dad) can happily watch from the bleachers beside the toddler pool or go ahead and get in.

d B: Solid lap pool, with accessories. Fun kid pool with splash features. Locker rooms much improved, but always big and with good water. Better light and air now, and centrifuges. No hot tub. Strong chlorine smell. :( free to DC res.

Andrew Fitch: Great location for a pool and fitness center (short walk from metro). Weight room has all the equipment and machines you would expect a gym to have. Pool has plenty of dedicated swim lanes. Bring your own lock! Lockers no longer have preinstalled locks on them, and stuff can go missing even if you bring it out on deck with you.

Liz Burman McEntire: The pool is clean, I can consistently find a lane within a few minutes of getting to the pool, lockers are secure and free, the showers are private and comfortable. Staff are also super friendly. When I forgot to bring a swim cap or a hair-tye and tired to maneuver my goggles to keep my hair out of my face, the office staff gave me a swim cap out of lost and found so I could finish my workout. This is easily my favorite DCPR aquatics center in DC.

Douglas Postels: Beautiful pool, free for DC residents. Chronic problems keeping hot water in the poorly maintained showers and the locker room's general cleanliness is highly suspect. Nice staff

A FEW GOOD COLLE MEN Movers: Takoma rocks for lap swimmer and pools goers. It underwent a major locker room reno a few years back.Covid restrictions are in effect (god job by the way).Appointment necessary

DC Ernest: Into my 3rd month of 2-days a week weight training and swimming. Just increased my workout to three days a week. My summer body is showing off. Like the atmosphere and nice people. Highly recommend these facilities.

Rachel Grier: Been living in the area for about 7 years, finally visited the takoma aquatic center. My husband, niece & mom came with. Loved the environment! Very nice welcome from the staff at the front desk. Older lifeguard tall slender & louder gentlemen approached us in a superbly rude demeanor. He stated my Mon could not sit on the edge of the baby pool. He then went on to say because she didn't have on N actual swim suit she couldn't be in the pool area. All of what he was saying was completely correct, however his demeanor was so rude. He made such a scene that majority of the folks in the area stopped and looked. This was quite an embarrassing experience. We expressed our situation to the director on staff. She apologized but honestly we left shortly after. She noted this was not the first complaint about this gentlemen lifeguard! Very disappointed!!

Deanwood Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Bobbi DeAnda: This place is amazing, but your experience there will likely depend if the lifeguard on duty. Online it says the slide is open from 1-4 so we came at 2 and the lifeguard on duty shut it down because they’re understaffed. The next lifeguard opened it up for a bit when we asked for it but also said they are understaffed and technically need more lifeguards on duty to have it open. The water is chilly at first but it’s warm inside so you adjust (nothing like Rumsey lol). There was an underwater spin class happening too - so cool! There’s also free life jackets, kick boards, and noodles! There’s a gradual entrance - perfect for toddlers (the splash features were off though). I love the huge windows letting the sunlight in. We will definitely be back! Would be 5 stars if they get it fully staffed so everyone can enjoy the slide!

Tiffany Wallace: I'll keep this short. Visited this community pool (Deanwood Aquatic) with my wife and son, and my wife was touched inappropriately by a lifeguard. I turned my back to put our pool items down on the bench, and when I turned around this lifeguard had his hands on her back while whispering something in her ear. During the duration of our swim, he made sure he grabbed a seat right in front of us so he could "stare' us down in our bathing suits. Just gross, and both of us were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I reported the situation to a member of the staff at the front desk, who then provided us with the phone number and email to the "so called" manager of this lifeguard. Called, left a message. No response. Emailed, No response. Hopefully they will see this review and contact me back. We don't need creeps at the community pool. LADIES BEWARE.

Tiana Lynn: Been a DC resident all my life. First time here and it is lovely. DC has really done a nice job renovating everything. Way back it was a no go hence why I’m here for the first time at 35 lol

Isaiah Becton: My preferred pool.I used to swim up at the old Capitol East now William Rumsey but it's too crowded.Deanwood is my new favorite place too swim. The water is nice and cold when you get in, and it's not overcrowded. The Lifeguard staff are always on duty and professional.

deanwood fox: Pool is great. Weekday mornings allow 4 adult workouts and laps. Sat mornings full of kids till about 2pm.

Sara Sullivan: A delughtfil place for water aerobics except when the boiler that keep the pool warm don t work. The staff is excellent

Tarneshia Rogers: Usually go to Ridge Road Outdoor pool but it closes on Thursday. My kids really enjoyed the indoor pool too. No sun beaming on my babies is a plus too.

Timo Freeman: There are at least two signs on the front entrance that list the pool as open. No additional signage with the current closure update. After having to drive all the way back around the block after encountering the locked doors, the other entrance also does not include a "pool closed" sign. Instead, you have to interrupt the apathetic security guard while he reclines and uses his phone, So he can blankly stare at you when you ask him why they have not updated any of the building signs or the pool's phone message. If you are lucky enough to encounter a friendly-ish DPR worker he just might give you THE PRINTOUT with all the updated summer 2021 pool hours/ closures. On this day, luckily I did, which seems to be the only way to obtain completely accurate and non-conflicting pool info. DPR site states that ALL the DPR+DCPS pools are closed for the summer, but Marie Reed & Wilson are open). The website is also confusing because some of the closed pools also list hours, and it says Deanwood is opening Summer '21 ( it opens Fall).

Cory Matthews: Great staff!!! We love our times there!!

Misty Underwood: This is our neighborhood pool and it used to be awesome. The only thing awesome today was Lisa who answered the phone the multiple times we called to see if the pool was back open yet because the chemical levels weren't right. She was very nice and helpful, it was refreshing. And the people in the sign in area, which included Lisa, were very polite. Today's experience left a lot to be desired. First the pool was dirty. Stuff littered the bottom of the pool, grit and dirt and even a Q-tip. Gross. Then a young man needed help in the deep end because he was unable to stay above the water. The life guard sat there watching. The young mans guardian swam frantically from the opposite side of the pool to save him and put the young man in the water where he could stand.....while the life guard watched a few feet away. Then a few minutes later the same life guard was SLEEPING while on his post. Another guard from the office came out and told him to wake up and get down and walk around to wake himself. Also, there were only 4 chairs for use. NOT the kind of experience we hoped for today.

William H Rumsey Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Edward Heid: Clean facilities and they just repaired the mens locker room showers. Still need to fix the entry doors. My neighborhood pool so I love having a “free” pool I can walk to. Bring a lock for your locker, don’t tempt fate. Limited Lap Lanes Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 11:00am-12:30pm 5:30pm-8:30pm Tuesday & Thursday 9:00am-10:30am 5:30pm-8:30pm

Rebecca Oldfield-Frey: A great free municipal pool! Would I eat off the locker room floor? No. But they do a good job keeping the pool clean and between 80 and 83 degrees. I love having access to this space.

Allison Melengic: Nice public pool. Clean. They have an area for family swim and lap lanes for competitive swimmers. The workers aren't very friendly but thats ok. Locker rooms are clean.

Ian Lever: Had a very good experience here on a Saturday morning. It was not too crowded and facilities were in pretty great shape. Nice to have a publicly accessible aquatic center in the neighborhood.

Bobbi DeAnda: Didn’t even take pics because we didn’t stay - broken facilities and freezing. We were told heater on the main pool has been broken for 2 months when we asked why it was so cold (I’m talking ICE BATH COLD). The baby pool is broken as well - for at least 2 years according to someone who works there. I’d consider trying it out again if they fix the facilities but as of now, we will not be back.

Kromeklia Bryant: I often go here to exercise during the week. Weekends can be busy. Avoid at all costs during the summer, unless you are a lap swimmer! Go early anytime before 10 am.

Michael Stern: Credit cards were stolen from my locked gym locker at this pool, and within 1/2 hour over $1,300 was charged on them. There was no security guard/staff checking people in, and the locked door to the men's room was propped open, allowing the thief easy pickings. When the police responded, the manager on-duty didn't know how to operate the security cameras to review footage. I later alerted Parks and Rec, who responded that they were not responsible. Yes, it's nice that we have many public pools in DC, but they should be staffed and secured like any private gym would be.

Tiffany Stevens: Me and my kids just started going here. Its a great workout. If you go early it's not crowded. Parking is a nightmare though. But if you dont mind paying a meter you will be fine. The bathrooms are gross though. Not toilet paper. The floors need to be mopped and bleached bad.

Chris Lundquist: This is a pretty decent pool. It's fantastic that this and other city-run aquatic facilities are completely free as long as you're a DC resident. The lifeguards and other staff are friendly and helpful. I've really enjoyed getting back into swimming on a regular basis. Could it be cleaner (especially in the locker rooms)? For sure, and I hope they work on that. But still, hard to beat this kind of value for free.

cat wu: Rating is base on a Wed. 6-8pm experience. Bathroom was in a very decent condition, floor was not dirty and has soap and paper. There were 4 lanes open even with the team practicing. Pool doesn’t have strong smell and with comfortable temperature. Hope this is not a one time thing.

Washington-Liberty Aquatics Center: what do users think?

Brenda Fonseca: Clean, water is not cold (it is nice to see my daughter swiming without purple lips or shaking).

Nassim Safadi: This pool is very nice. Have a big changing room with shower and a locker space for you belonging. The kids swim lesson is fun the instructors are very knowledgeable they take time with kids to learn how to independent swimmers

Sarah Cox: We had a blast with our 5yo son. The pool was a bit cold. It worked well when our hotel who advertised a pool did not have one! Thank you!

JX Mrs: I took several swimming lessons here, and the instructors were very nice and I learned a lot. What drive me down to give a 1 star is the management team. After the lessons I got a 3-month membership with this location. However now, they are closed for almost half month. They don’t notice you with email, they just assume you know everything. I emailed the manager to ask if my membership will be extend to make up the half month they close for maintenance, and now 4or 5 days passed, I received nothing reply upon my question. I guess I paid for nothing. Horrible management team, although the good environment of swimming is ruined and wasted. That’s how I feel now with this place!

Vinni: This is a great pool, with six Lanes, sometimes eight Lanes, but it certainly gets crowded Monday through Thursday evening after work. Be ready to swim 3 to a lane on those evenings. Best times to go for it not being crowded is Friday night

Mason Eoyang: The kids area gets real crowded in the evenings with classes, and so. Times its a struggle to find a lane, but the facilities are nice, well staffed and reasonably clean for a public pool. Arlington county residents get a discount for entry, all others pay full price (check website for current prices)

karim jana: Great place to swim for all levels. The bathroom facilities are clean, haven't had problems with parking (6pm-9pm),and there's always space to swim comfortably. The temperature in the bathroom area could be warmer.

Sofía Fonseca Muñoz: It is a very nice pool and they are very organized for avoid contact due to covid. The booking system is nice, I just wish that you could book two days in advance or so.

Michael Goldring: Washington-Lee is a great facility. I always get a good workout there. The competition pool is very well designed and maintained. The water quality and temperature are excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is open both to residents and non-residents. I travel a lot, and swim in many pools. Washington-Lee is one of the best anywhere.

john jonson: 10 swim lanes open seven days a week. It can get crowded so plan on having to share the swim lane. It could be improved by better management as there are often multiple classes going on at once with 1 lane open for everyone else.

Dunbar Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Katherine Tobin: Large pool (8x25 yards) with fairly wide lanes. Free for DC residents. Locker rooms are basic but clean enough. There are kick boards, pull buoys, and fins available to borrow. Note that sometimes the door will be locked in the mornings but if you knock loudly, someone from the front desk will come and let you in.

krystle mudd-neclos: Went to Dunbar accompany students from my elementary school where theyre participating in a program to learn how to swim! Lovely school, and Amazing Aquatic Center!

Seth Van Heukelom: Awesome staff, pool, and facilities. A bit dated but as long as I can swim from one end to the other I don’t care. Pool temperature was perfect for me but I like it on the cooler side. Locals made a visitor feel at home. Be ready to circle swim during the week. Weekends are pretty open. Will definitely come back here when I visit D.C. again.

Tee Symes: The pool is clean and the staff was very friendly, but the water was to cold on both times that my 1year old grandson and myself could not stay long. I wished that the water temperature was warmer. Oh the locker rooms were also nice and clean. If it wasn't for the water being so cold I would have rated it a 5.

Saule Aoki: Nice facilities but the water is way too cold. Also, there are bubbles that come up from the bottom so it's hard to see when you're racing. Finally, it's hard to jump out of the pool because the wall is so high up.

Adam Gresek: It's a pool. The temperature is always nice. They keep it clean as well without having to nuke it with chlorine. The locker rooms will give you a total throwback to high school. The opening times and hours can be a little erratic, call first.

Raphael Tisch: This is a great 25 yard public pool in DC. Indoor, so it's open all year. Get here early on a Sunday and you get a whole lane to yourself for a bit, which is fantastic. The staff are nice, and helpful.

Lisa Pratt: Very friendly staff. Clean, nice pool but has a bit of a "current" according to the really good swimmers.

Antonio martinez: Best indoor pool I had been to in dc very clean and everyone in really nice the locker rooms are clean they even offer you a small dryer to dry you swimming suit in the locker rooms

Rodrigo Fernandez: This pool is nice, it has plenty of lanes, plenty of locker space, and friendly staff... the water is a bit too warm though

Turkey Thicket Aquatic Facility: what do users think?

Bobbi DeAnda: This pool is HUGE! Water was pretty cold but not as cold as Rumsey…you can adjust to this lol. AND there’s a hot tub!!!!! I always appreciated a ramp entry for the little ones as well. There’s plenty of places to sit (bleachers), it’s warm inside the facility (that’s what made the water temp more bearable too) and there’s lap lanes and a diving board! Overall good. Will definitely be back!

Dalonte Parker: Great pool lifeguards everywhere. Only thing is water VERY cold appearently their water heater is down and has been for a while. Once your in you'll definitely need to keep move and keep most of your body submerged.

Jeneen G: Convenient neighborhood pool that offers classes and has a hot tub. Well-lit and accessible by bike, bus or metro. Good-sized parking lot except when there's an event going on. Pool doesn't seem to be cleaned very often though (supposed to be at least weekly) because there's the same debris underwater week after week. Showers mostly work but at least one of them breaks down every so often. This location has closed down for long periods (at least a month) over the last 2-3 years supposedly for renovations and/ or cleaning but tiles still look old. Hopefully doesn't close down again in the near future

Marla Hunter: One place that makes me very happy due to the fact that I remember when I became a lifeguard and swim coach, I was the only Black one. Here it's awesome to see the Black faces of the lifeguards and swim coaches.

Laura White: This week too much chlorine in the pool. The smell was very strong it had my eyes burning and I didn't even put my head under the water.😏 However the ladies locker room was much cleaner than my previous visit🙄🤨 These are pictures of the ladies showers, where someone has left there hair behind🤨 These other pictures are of the hot tub with this thick ring of dirt and foam, thus forcing people out of the hot tub!🤔🤔😏

Mary Evans: Very friendly staff. Clean and not too crowded.

Kevin Keller: A few years ago this was a great facility. It's fallen into disrepair lately. It's not as sparkly clean as it once was. Some of the showers don't work. The shower that does work has a loose and rusty fitting at the wall. The water pressure is low too. They no longer keep the shower soap dispensers filled with soap. The bathing suit dryer in the men's locker room is out of service. There's grime on tiles in the locker room. They don't always open on time. Still, if your just looking to get in a quick swim and your in the neighborhood it gets the job done.

John Schultz: Was in the neighborhood and wanted to swim some laps. So I call to hear about their policies. 7 dollars for non DC residents. No cash. OK, sounds fair. I'll just bring my wallet and leave it in a locker. Pool facilities are pretty nice. Lots of families taking advantage of the fountain and the life jackets. I swim my laps. Probably in the pool for 45 minutes. Dry off, change, get my stuff. In less than ten minutes the fraud department of my bank had called me. Someone had carefully swiped the credit cards out of my wallet. In 45 minutes. So glad they didn't take my ID and my phone was in my car. I suppose I should be more careful in locker rooms.

a detrick: Had a horrible experience at this pool. The pool manager was extremely rude to the people I was with (a recently-arrived immigrant family from Guatemala who don't speak English). She started yelling at them for no reason and accused them of breaking one of the pool rules that they weren't actually breaking (the pool rules are clearly listed--maybe the pool manager should review them herself). I figured she was just in a bad mood that day, but she was extremely polite to the other guests were actually breaking the rules (including one man who was eating next to the pool) and kindly asked them to follow the rules. I'm not sure if she was only rude to the people I was with because they were the only Hispanic people at the pool, but I do know that no one deserves to be spoken to the way my friends were spoken to. I hope this manager never treats anyone like this again--after all, her paycheck comes out of OUR dc taxes.

Jessica Martinez: What looks to be a nice and clean pool is an actual pool that is dirty. The staff is so rude in particularly an elder lifeguard (guy). We were there no longer than 10 minutes when he was yelling across the pool. He was rude as ever and blowing his whistle every two minutes for no reason. The water was freezing even in the baby pool which is unacceptable. I am highly unsatisfied and will never bring my kids.

Wilson Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Hanna Foreman: Great neighborhood pool. The staff is friendly and place is fairly well maintained for a public pool. However, finding a lane can be hard during the post 5pm rush so plan accordingly since you will be competing with swim classes and other 9-5ers.

armis sadri: I’ve been a competitive swimmer & lifeguard for years. Unfortunately DC public amenities have never been of good quality and this applies to this public swimming pool. Honestly doesn’t deserve a one-star. 1. Wilson pool is always full. I tried coming on early mornings, mid-day & afterwork and 5-6 lines are always closed no matter what for different and random classes and meet ups and so called lack of staff while they literally do push ups and play group activities near the children pool. It’s intentional as enough staff walk around the pool doing nothing or are in the life guard room checking phones. 2. After work during the week is awful since besides those 5-6 closed lines, 3 ppl end up swimming in a lane which should be illegal and while you’re swimming random meet up groups show up claiming it’s their line so ppl end up waiting 10-15mins for two lanes and they don’t allow you to swim in the children’s pool. It’s a joke just wasting your time arguing with staff who have no common sense and threaten you to call police if you swim in children pool 3. Stay away from this pool as it’s too dirty with no supervise. Once I was swimming and noticed some stuff goes into my mouth went down deep and noticed there were so many used bandaids in the water, let the lifeguard know and they just came and said gross, didn’t even bother to close the lane and clean. 4. Amenities and shower are so gross and dirty full of empty bottles of shampoo and ppl’s hair clogging the shower. 5. Brought all these issues to the attention of pool’s manger and DC team and no response just heard it is what is. 6. Nothing is posted on their webpage in terms of what classes at what times are going, what lanes or how many lanes will be closed or they’ll be closed because of an event you go all the way and noticed sth on the door so call in advance. 7. As a swimmer, I tried three competition pools in Virginia (NOVA) and regret living in DC, the VA pools were so clean and well maintained. DC residents suffer with such low quality and scarce public amenities and council members. 8. Avoid this pool unless you have no option and just want to go swim, do lapses in your lunch break hoping you won’t get sick.

Murad Efendiev: This is bar none the best public pool in dmv area. it needs maintenance but overall unbeatable. not for swimmers who like warm water.

Francine Steininger: Pool has been very cold lately (Early 2022). Not sure what's going on but it takes a lot of swimming to warm up. Nice sized pool but showers are cold, often not working, or not draining well, and people don't clean up after themselves in the shower (leaving hair, soap or shampoo bottles behind, etc)

kathleen gough: Great pool, family changing rooms are not in great shape, but the pool itself is worth it.

Marla Hunter: Excellent pool area. The children's area is just the right temp for swim lessons.

John Clisham: I just called to get some swim team information... the young man on the other end was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Tristana Fiscella: Such an amazing pool. Olympic size! Check ahead about which way the lanes go that day. Also there is a large hot tub and a very, very robust kiddy pool area! Afterwards grab a bite at the Whole Foods salad bar or a smoothie at Robeks and hop on the H bus! The sunlight coming through the building really makes this pool awesome.

Chris Peckham: It can be busy at times, but hands down my favorite public pool. The hot tub is amazing.

Eric Wuechner: About one theft (locker break in) a week, according to the police, so purchase a heavy-duty lock, and you should be ok. The pool can be frigid, so be prepared. M, W, F, S 50 meter pool.

Langdon Park Pool: what do users think?

Paul Barbour: Went on a Sunday in June. Very very busy. No shade to Hide out in during those annoying 15 minute breaks. There is a splash park there also which is nice for the smaller kids.

LAKINYA SOWELL: I really like the new pool set up.. more kid friendly than before.

Bobbi DeAnda: OMG THIS POOL IS THE BEST! We went to rosedale all summer but it had to close early on the last day so we went to this one and I wish we found it earlier! It’s SUPER baby/toddler friendly. The pool has a sloped entrance, essentially a baby pool AND a separate splash park with a slide. Additionally, during adult swim the splash park is still open so kids can still have fun. Needs more chairs, but other than that, this place is amazing. It’s a bit far for us, but we will definitely come visit again next summer!

Cardell Love: Great place for swimming it also have a water park for the children. Unfortunately the park is not wheelchair accessible to the park across the street you would have to travel an entire city block to go around to get to the other side to the playground area. It is not wheelchair or power chair accessible

Matt Johnson: Great pool with lots of options for the little ones! The layout of this pool is one of the best in DC. There is plenty of seating and it's designed for families! The pool has a gradual shift from deep end to shallow end with an infinity pool style crossover into the kiddie pool (In other words, the full pool is connected to the kiddie pool by water covered stairs). They also have a great splash pad with shaded areas and lots of seating. The staff was great and there's plenty of surrounding green space to do other activities, including close proximity to Chuck Brown park. All-in-all, one of our favorites!

Jacqueline Monroe: Great place....when I was 10yrs old...now the park&poll has changed so much...not a fun as it was before...however the children seem to enjoy.

Alexandra Justis: Tons of chairs, not unbearably crowded, decent locker rooms, (seemingly) clean pool water, frequent adult swims, strict lifeguards, easy parking, fancy fountain feature separate from pool for the kids to enjoy during adult swim...can't go wrong on a sunny day in the district! Will definitely be back. 💯👏🏻

Tanya Smalls: Memorial Day at Langdon Pool was packed but nice! I give it 4 stars because it did not have a family changing room. I have two young grandboys with special needs and I would like to keep an eye on them.

Lila Anderson: Its a nice place as always, there are not enough chairs for a big crowd so if you your own portable chair you can take it in with you.

Joey Abrams: City Life as it was meant to be. Community members and kids together, talking, friendly, playing, laughing, learning. Rehab of this facility is strikingly sufficient. Perfectly sized for the neighborhood. Pay the lifeguards more; they earn it!

Francis Outdoor Pool: what do users think?

Sam Odle: We came for dog swim day at the end of summer and our pup had a blast.

beth peralta-reed: Great pool. Lap swimming available. Kid pool with a beach entrance. Maditory rest time for kids so that adults get some time in the pool without kids. The deep end opens around midday during the week. My only complaint is that the restrooms are kinda gross. One of the stalls in the women’s locker room has been locked for a couple weeks, two of the stalls don’t lock at all and none of the stalls have working toilet paper holders so the roll of toilet paper always ends up on the floor.

Jiya Sohal: It’s a beautiful poop and it’s not too crowded and if it is it’s mostly people sun bathing so the pool is very open and it’s separated in three parts so if your child is playing in water it won’t go to the deep end. I mostly loved how deep it goes and so you can challenge your self if you are trying to dive down to touch bottom and it goes down to 12feet and 5 inches. I was also surprised how clean it was even though there’s many tree near it and you definitely go there except on Tuesday there closed that day and this is my go to pool

Mara Nelson: Love this pool! My boyfriend and I go here during the summer in DC and have the best time. The pool is huge and split into three sections - one for kids, one for swimming laps, and one with a deep end. Best part, if you're a resident of DC, it's free! On the weekends, it can get a little crowded. We go after work sometimes and there is barely anybody there. Definitely go if you live in DC.

Mark Enoch: A great pool, but get there early if you want a chair. Many are plastic and broke many summers ago, but overall it's a great pool. It's size let's families with young children enjoy swimming in a shallow end, lap lanes for swimmers, a standing area for adults, and a deep end for enjoyment.

Dennis Bours: Very nice pool and kind life guards. Always done unclarity about opening times, but check the most recent pictures of the opening times and you should be okay. Life guards go into a discussion of the type of life vest you.put on your little ones. All well meant. DC will have its standard, and so do other states, or Europe. One not necessarily better than the next. Most important, stay close to your kids if they did not complete swimming lessons; a life vest does not mean they can't drown.

Laura Labedz: I love this pool. It has six lap lanes that are open at all times, plus an area to the side of the lap lanes for kids and families to play. there's a kiddie pool for the really little ones and the deep end is separated from the lanes by a wall and is good for just hanging out.. (Deep is only about 7 or 8 feet, so no diving.)

Bossi: PRO - Generally not crowded, though around 6pm it can get competitive as the sun starts setting behind the trees & it gets competitive over remaining sunlit seating. Pools are split into three parts: deep, lap, and wading. Water always a great temp. CON - Every year more and more lounge chairs are broken; never seeming to be repaired. Locker rooms are basic and not too clean. Showers are exceptionally hot. The deep pool is closed more than it's open.

B VanFleet: This pool needs better management. They force people into only 3 narrow lane for no apparent reason. There are two lifeguards who seem not want to do what a lifeguard is paid to do. If you open at noon you should have everything in place and opporational.

Bryan De Rosa: I just discovered this park as part of my kickball league. have not used the pool, but have had a number of practices and watched a few games. great location, close proximity to Georgetown, trader joes, and other cool places. this is perfect for families

Courtney Lynch: This is a great pool. You must sign in before you can enter and I am told it's for DC residents only (not sure). When you first walk into the building, you pass through the locker rooms and then onto the pool deck. There are always lifeguards on duty. The guards are friendly and take thier job seriously. They do not tolerate rough playing or diving in the shallow end. There are plenty of life jackets for small and large children. ** The last 15 minutes of every hour is ADULT swim only. During adult swim, no children, not even infants, are allowed to be in the water.

Sista Pat: Awesome courteous lifeguard staff. Very CLEAN!

Renee Grimes: Nice pool. All the chairs were broken. Lifeguards need to pay attention to children more. Football was passed end to end. Umbrella blew off guard stand, and could've been a terrible accident. No concern was really shown.

Del Williams: Clean, but busy with kids. The best place is the deep end. They tests the children before they can swim in the deep end. If you are not early odds are you won’t get a chair. Oddly no one uses the lockers.

Delmita B: Haven't gone yet, but the view looks very inviting from the tennis courts. I'm planning to go there after tennis. They even have a life guard for the baby pool!

Lisa Mueller: Smaller DC pool, near the woods, and Costco. This is a nice location and there is a more traditional playground and a neat, but older built into the terrain playground in the nearby park in Fort Lincoln. There is a parking lot.

oteia jones: This pool is never over packed.... And I love this location. Not a lot of shade so if u want a tan go here!

Albert Charles: Nice community pool

Rocklord Ent: Great Pool. Life guards were very professional and place was clean

Ilsy Marilyn: This is by far the BEST DC pool ! Let's keep it clean and welcoming!

Bobbi DeAnda: This is THE coolest park ever! I wish i had this park as a kid! There’s an AMAZING little kid park with a soft surface and big kid park and SWINGS! There’s so few parks in the city with swings - but there’s three kinds here. Also a big field with workout equipment, tennis court, basketball court, and the pool!

Polly Rodriguez: DC parks Rock!Sadly the beautiful pool is only open on weekends until the end of June, but it's a great park. Playgrounds for different age groups. Basketball. Big grassy field. Nicely maintained.

David Andrew Finkelstein: Awesome pool. Good mix of adults and families come here but I have always been able to find a chair even at peak times. Much prefer it to Banneker. Street parking can be annoying but it’s usually not too bad.

Annegret Hünerfürst: Best playground of all I went to with my 2 kids. Very spacious and a lot to explore. Swings for every age.

Rochelle Marie: I took my oldest son to football practice there while I let my two toddlers play on the playground. I loved the playground! the playgrounds are separated, so u have a little kids one and a big kids one. they have a swing set in the middle...with both baby swings and regular swings. They have a tennis and basketball court. I believe also a rec center. there was some litter on the playground but it wasnt trifling. I've seen worse. Parking is VERY competitive. overall, it's a great lil playground. we will be back!

Fabiana Perera: Beautiful pool with draconian rules. They close the pool for “adult swim” even when there are no child-free adults here. Instead of opening the kiddie pool at that time they keep it closed for no good reason. I have no idea what triggered the end-of-fun whistle but I hope it doesn’t happen to you if you come here with kids.

Luisa Parra: This is great playground for small and big kids! You can also go for a jog around it. Definitely a great spot to go with kids or even by yourself.

Rene Wallis: Nice pool, big swim area for bigger kids, ages 7 and up. Nice kiddie pool for toddlers. Shade is available. Icky bathrooms. Diving board is gone and lifeguards often won't allow people to swim in the deep end. Clean deck. Not crowded most of the time. Families, lower key pool.

Brett Syndergaard: This is the place to play some pick up ultimate fris. Scoober up broheim!

Caleb P: The playground areas are great. The little kid playground area is not shaded, but the rest are. The gardens surrounding the park are all over run with weeds. Too bad, cause I bet they were gorgeous when the park was new. Pool odd only open weekdays and Saturdays after 12.

JEANNIE JOHNSON VOICEOVERS Cool. Clear. Confident.: Excellent aqua fitness program with Jeannie (a.k.a. Aquagirl J) a dynamic, AEA certified trainer... GREAT BOOT CAMP SPLASH, HYDRO SPIN, & DEEP WATER programs!!! Check Jeannie out for amazing classes!

SBT_U: Very nice place. Indoor and outdoor pool both at the perfect temperature. Nice gym small but equipment is new and looks clean, Locker rooms with showers and saunas, and prices are good. Overall I think it’s worth a visit.

Johari Rashad: I was a former member for years and worked out daily. However, medical issues kept me from continuing. However, the club manager re-activated my account in July and I'm back again! It's a friendly place with an indoor pool (!) and a good selection of equipment. COVID-19 protocols are practiced (masks, social distancing, cleaning equipment after use). I feel very comfortable being back.

Cynthia Webb-Manly: Small place that caters to residents. They got bikes for spin class bu it takes at least two people to put or take bikes in or out of small pool without a ramp but has sloped sides.

Xavier Barraza: Great so far. Nothing fancy, but for the lack of (Dbags hogging benches taking selfies), its great. No corporate bs (WSC), small business owned, friendly staff, nice pool and great community atmosphere.

Carl Romero: Great staff and members. All knowledgeable and friendly. Not the biggest gym in the world but has all the necessary equipment for most people’s workouts.

Barbara Pettis: Horrible service over the phone. No website that promotes the gym. They don't quote membership price over the telephone. Driving there could be a waste of people time. This gym needs to do better with website were people can actually get a fill for what they might invest in.

Daye Gibson: Very knowledgeable staff, brand new equipment, nice big indoor and outdoor pools. The services they provide are top notch. Trust you won't be disappointed.

Anthony Celey: The experience was good the pool was warm but the dressing rooms could be warmer

Álvaro Morán: Nice swimming pools, one indoors, the other outdoors, in a city that lacks swimming pools. The gym equipment is pretty old though.

Steve O: This is a great pool facility. It will be nice when they return the locker rooms to full operating ability. The hand/hair dryers and suit dryer would be especially nice during the colder months. Assume they are off due to COVID.

Jean Horner: Renovated in 2013. Large windows let light in. I used to bring the kids when they were little and we had a long weekend. It felt like a vacation for a couple hours

Kevin Cronk: It's better than I would expect a school pool to be

Matthew Scherbel: Never had a problem reserving a pod in the shallow end to go wadding with my 9-month-old. Pods are large enough that social distancing is maintained which is key because you dont wear a mask in the water. Plenty of single family changing rooms to shower and towel off and change ny baby's clothes or if you might he bashful about changing in the locker room. Nice staff.

M Cornish: The pool and facility is great, staff is friendly, and if you choose the right times lanes are available. The water quality is really good! But lets be honest; it's at a high school and the men's looker room could often use an extra cleaning. The facility gets really crowded on Saturday's during lessons. I wish they would stay open an extra hour,.

Maria: Water is ok, salty somehow but no complaints since it’s a public pool. Parking is easy. Not crowded. I typically go there after work and I can always find a spot. Women’s shower room can really use some improvement. Drainage is not working, shower area is flooded, a lot of showers don’t work properly and some of the lights are broken. Swimming suit dryer is broken.

Angela Webster: I so Enjoy going there it's a clean Environment and the Staff is Always very Helpful and Attentive to Guest And the Guest are very friendly and Supportive of my Weight loss Journey i look forward to my visits to this facility.

grundged: Nice pool, but very expensive! Also if you work a normal work schedule and try to swim in the early morning and evenings then pool will be crowded. Have to share the pool with high school swimmers and other classes so don't expect a free lane. High school locker rooms not so great and parking is a pain. Considering this is a high school pool, prices really should be cheaper.

matt smith: They're open every day but sometimes closed for swim meets. They do send out emails and tweets to let you know when they have special closings. The water is cold which is good for lap swimmers. The showers are nice and hot.

Jeff: 30$ a month, totally worth it not crowded early mornings. Serious lap swimmers it's great. kids on the weekends. 2 pools but always a lane open and I have yet to circle swim.

Gigi DSK: Love to swim there when the crowd is not around... beautiful surroundings.

Gael de Schaetzen: Sat Aug 28, 88°F but pool is closed. For Volta park, the season is over!

M Moore: Towards the start of summer DCPS the lifeguards didn't show up on time, hence some days the pool opened late, so we had to turn around and go home or to another pool several times. This pool is very deep for kids, not recommended for them. Also it doesn't have steps to walk in the pool

Shadonna Davis: Beat pool in dc in my opinion!

Jonathan Topping: Great pool. On the smaller side but exactly what our family needed! Friendly staff

Christoph Heine: Nice little spot to cool down on a hot summers day.

Rubens: Great park. Two tennis courts, swimming pool, basketball courts, mini baseball field and playground.

William Gauger: Small clean pool. Georgetown families, not many Georgetown students.

xavier platt: This pool is NOT open as stated on the website.

Rachel Haywood: I’ve only been to this pool a handful of times but I’ve had a great experience every time. The pool has a slanted entrance at one end of the pool, like you’re entering into the ocean, which is great for little kids to play in. The surface area surrounding the pool is huge so you can spread out nicely. There is a huge covered area for those who want shade. The water has always been clean and cool when I’ve gone. The bathroom area is big and clean. Lots of showers and changing rooms. I think they usually have three lifeguards there. Every 45 minutes or hour (I think) there is a 15 break where everyone has to get out of the pool. What I don’t like is that there is a building going up right next to the pool that will block a lot of sun that the area currently gets. That of course isn’t any thing that parks and rec can help, just an unfortunate change that is coming. I have been to Francis Pool in NW and I like this pool way better. Cleaner bathrooms, chairs that aren’t broke and are clean. I was surprised how poorly kept up Francis Pool facilities are compared to this one. Would definitely recommend Randall Pool!

Charmaine Williams: Go visit! We visited on a Monday and it was only two other families there. The pool itself and the seating area surrounding it is large. The pool was pretty clean outside of the occasional floating hair and a small bug or two. The ladies room was really large and clean as well. One thing I like about this pool is the entrance (see picture). It’s similar to a beach the way you can walk inside and sit on the edge. There were plenty of staff and lifeguards. They have an entire rack of different sized swimming vest to wear, so no need to go out and buy one to visit here. I made sure to include a picture of operating hours as of right now.

Linda Whitfield: This pool is great the only problem is that some of the staff is very rude and unprofessional

Dave Watts: This is a nice little neighborhood pool. Today was Doggie Day, so I went to take pictures of the dogs swimming in the pool. They loved it!

Flatout Marc: Me and my kids had a fun time at this pool we'll be going back very nice staff

Jeriesha Blount: i love this pool, its quiet and great for small kids.

Ileana James: Great pool for babies. Staff could be a little more professional at front desk.

Marika Wieliczko: Great pool for babies.

Chanpen Tee: There are 6 outdoor courts. They are ok. The restroom is clean. And there's a lot of parking lot

Rich B: Nice pool and friendly staff. Pool area needs better filtration to avoid breathing so much chlorine. Assisted doors for wheel chair access have been locked on weekends for years according to staff so not wheel chair accessible even though they have pool chairs for people with disabilities.

Cathy Mcduffie: Love this pool. Staff are very friendly, pool and hot tub water temps are good. Changing room and showers are clean.

Virginia Newman-Yates: I received the sweetest reception and service. I was able to register for my upcoming water aerobic classes. My mission was pleasantly accomplished. Kudos to Ms. Charlene and the other young lady that was on duty.

stan Carter: I arrive at the pool at approximately 6:30pm on 6/20/17... I seen a guy pulled his shorts down and reviled his parts around the children... SMH. The lifeguards said something to him but didn't put him out that's #1. #2.... I had several kids there also, and I had to say something to the lifeguards about cursing ( using profanity) at and around the children (he apologized).. SMH. #3... The deep end was never open because they said it was cloudy and they never did anything about it, that made me not want to get into the water... SMH. #4... lastly once I get into the water they closed at 7:45pm, the pool says it closed at 8:00pm... SMH the third strike we should've been out but... (NEVER AGAIN)

Alisha Corley: This was the worst experience at a public pool ever....some one claims they had a swimmer on thier baby but yet shit was still somehow in the pool and by the pool chairs when she changed a pamper she valled a swimmer ....the lifeguards an security guards donot pay attention to the kids ....they have 0 respect cursing and what not.....never again

Charles Benoit: Super friendly staff make this a great environment. The pool is excellent, even heated so it's open until end of October. Gym is shared between hotel guests and local members, but the cardio machines aren't full too often. An extra treadmill wouldn't hurt, but when I do have to wait it's not too long. All in all a great community.

Eric Hanson: Pool! Pool! Pool! A typical but larger hotel gym inside Hilton (open to the public too). If you are a swim person, you just can't afford to pass it up. they have a fabulous pool (don't be deceived by Vida Fitness/U St's facade & shills on Yelp, they're overpriced yet mediocre). 5 stars if they open till 11pm.

susan forsyth: I have been a member for years. The pool is excellent and the gym is great too.

Dave Giefer: Nice machines. Could use some fans on the cardio equipment.

mike Appello: Nice, clean, no stress or bs.
