John Cole: I had an amazing experience last week at Dunn Lewis. I’m a student in DC for a summer internship and thus don’t have a full set of tools or a workspace available to perform more than the most basic bike maintenance. I went to Dunn Lewis, and the extremely reasonable membership rates allowed me to change my sprockets and chain in their workshop, getting guidance and a bit of help all the while from the knowledgeable and friendly community inside. The kicker is that I’m not really a mechanically experienced guy. A basic 2 hour max procedure ended up taking me twice that, and they kept the shop open an extra hour just to ensure nothing was done too hastily and the bike came back together properly. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation of Dunn Lewis for motorcyclists of all skill levels so find community, tinker, maintain, and share love in such a unique hobby and lifestyle! It’s especially a great place for those with 0 mechanical knowledge to build confidence and familiarity due to the extremely supportive attitudes of the staff. Thanks a bunch Mason and Laurel!

Christopher Johnson: I had my Harley Davidson towed to this facility, the service was great, Hondo is the man! The entire staff seemed to really care about the customer. I picked the bike up on a Tuesday, and took it on a road trip the following morning.....I made it about 650 miles and had another issue with my bike, I spoke with Both Harley dealerships, Fort Washington, and the Harley dealership I had to have it towed to. When I spoke to the service manager Chris, He was very apologetic, told me that I was not to worry, he was sorry that it happened, and that he would handle it. I received a follow up call from the GM, and he informed me that it has been handled. Thank you again for for everything.

DM: If you want a Moto Guzzi (and you really should, I have three...) La Moto is the place in the DC metro area. They are located near the Clarendon metro and easily accessible by mass transit or car ( although it is street, meter parking only). During these odd pandemic times they have been operating in an appointment only mode. In my case that was not a problem. I knew which bike I wanted (a V85 TT Centenario) and conducted most of the discussions with the manager Stuart via email. Stuart offered me a test ride but I actually had quite a few hours on the V85 so instead I put a deposit down over the phone and the bike was fully assembled, tested, and ready when I had time to pickup a couple of days later. When I arrived all of the paperwork was completed and it was just a matter of a few signatures and a check. Stuart gave me a run down on the bike specific features and controls and I was off. Could not have been a more pleasant experience. A couple of weeks later I noted a minor computer related problem and scheduled a service appointment. The technician tried his best to resolve the issue while I waited and had lunch at the Silver Diner across the street but ultimately I had to leave the bike to allow for a more detailed diagnostic. Once the bike was ready all of the issues were completely resolved and I was in and out of service quickly. Great customer service on all levels.

Michael Brown: As a company, REI should not inflict their political beliefs onto customers. That said, they carry good gear and this particular location is fantastic. Every time I have come here they have exactly what I need. The staff are friendly and helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t know who makes REI branded clothes and gear, but they do a good job.
Mike R: I like this store for so many reasons. First: they have excellent customer service. Today I walked in with my bike to get my flat tire fixed. A woman approached me and signed me in. Then a man walked up to me and asked if I would like to him to park my bike. I was appalled by this gesture. Second: This establishment has everything here. I mean like… leave that bike area if you want to. You will be buying anything from energy gel to underwear. Third: conveniently located right beside the metro.

Tanya Crawford: My bike was delivered to me last Saturday. I posted a review of the bike sale and professionalism exemplified by each team member at Coleman’s PowerSports. Well, let me just state that the delivery driver was awesome. He was very friendly answered all questions (I ask a lot of question for clarity and to ensure my understanding) however, he was patient and understanding about it. He unloaded by bike with caution and careful. He backed it up in my garage for me with ease. Just an overall great experience. Denis Wallace: Service department is super responsive and on top of it. I’d trust them to do work on my motorcycle anytime. Granted I only had the tire changed and wanted to do the rest of the body work repairs myself, they had no issue with that. So once they had the pets in they notified me and once the tire was done I was all good to pick it up, even paid the invoice over the phone and all I had to do was look at the bike, sign a paper and she was mine again. Thanks Griff and Jackson for putting my mind at ease when I’ve never had anyone do work on my motorcycle before.

So here’s some awesome stuff he did: - He’s super fast to reply and answer any questions. - He always remembers my name and will great me as soon as he sees me. The associates are always helpful and pretty knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to help! Well stocked too! Bought a fitness trampoline to keep a 7 yr old from going stir crazy in an apartment during these NO School days! Hope it works! It was Waaay up high. Alex Martin: Leave it up to the wonderful people of Washington DC to complain about “rude” behavior. Maybe like one dude in the back was a douche but at least he was an honest douche. If you appreciate radical honesty then this place is worth a visit. Also Justin new kid training had great insight to give when it came to my curiosity about fixed bikes. Last but not least the owner made absolute sure my bike fit my body size, far more than the competition ever did. Will send people to this location for sure.
Louise Pocock: I’ll preface by saying I’m not a bike head but went to this shop in my neighborhood after moving to DC because I wanted to make biking my primary mode of transport. These guys spent hours listening to what kind of bike I wanted and how I planned to used it and explained all my options and answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I not only bought a bike but learned a lot about bikes and how to take care of them. They got me set up with all the practical locks/lights/fenders etc for a very reasonable price. When I wrecked they fixed it right away and for free (no replacement part needed, just my fenders reattached). I have been back several times for other little things and they always help me right away and keep me riding. I love my bike shop!
Mike Carr: Many bike shops are plagued with pretentious staff. This is NOT the case at Bicycle Space. The employees are all super friendly and helpful. As an added bonus their location in Ivy City is easy to get to from most parts of DC and there is almost always easy parking right out front. This shop also sponsors many fun bicycle events in the area, such as the Saturday Cupcake Ramble lead by Lionel!

Sassy Sauce: Mixed experience with this store. It’s a good location and there is parking available in the underground garage. First 2 hours are free. The store has items locked in a case that I couldn’t understand. For example, women’s underwear and some personal hygiene items. Also, the store wasn’t too crowded while I was there and the associate I asked to help me gave me clear directions as to what aisle the product I needed would on. The parts of the store I visited were clean and the overall shopping experience was ok. No major complaints. Just strange observations about profits being locked behind glass.

mitchell mcgovern: Went in to get my current bike serviced and ended up coming back the next day to trade up for a Yamaha FZ-07 they let me test drive while I waited. Been coming here for 3 years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Staff is knowledgeable, super friendly, and obviously passionate about what they’re selling. Everyone from Kit in sales, to Tyler in apparel, Kelly in finance and Mark in parts and Connor in service went above and beyond on my purchasing experience buying my first Triumph motorcycle. dholmblad: Cannot recommend Bike Club enough. Had the derailleur hanger bend on a very sentimental 1990s carbon specialized. The owner was able to work his magic, replaced the derailleur and fixed the hanger. Before I walked out he made sure the shifting was smooth and dialed in. Thanks!
Chuck Baier: Bike Club is a one of a kind bike shop! It is a one man shop and you need to approach Phuoc, the owner, at the right time and in the right way to get positive results. If you rush in, start rapidly firing off questions, and making demands, Phuoc is likely to dismiss you and recommend you look elsewhere for needs, often rudely. However, if you stop in, sit down, and make some friendly small talk, then he will dig what you need out of his cavernous shop, fix you up, impart some insightful wisdom to you about human nature, elicit a few belly laughs, and get you back on your way. You will then have a friend who will remember you even when you come back 3 years later, as he did with me. If you’re bringing your bike in for service, the question is not whether Phuoc can fix it but if he wants to fix it. Therefore, don’t start off by telling him your opinion of the problem or how to fix it. God forbid, don’t start by arguing over 5 bucks based on your latest Google or Amazon search. Instead, just set back, ask for a beer while you wait, and let this Master perform his craft. And if you genuinely love bikes, don’t miss the opportunity to take the tour inside. Carefully navigate the pathways through the shop for a trip through the last 50 years of bicycle history. I’ve been in dozens of time and find something new to intrigue me each time. Bike Club is an absolutely unique Falls Church institution and Phuoc is indeed an endangered species. A trip to Bike Club is MUCH more genuine than the overpriced pro shops staffed with hipsters with a different sort of attitude. Good luck!! Pedal Power!!!
Patrick N.: This is an old school bike shop, keep in mind, there is really no “customer service” you get to the shop, state what you want and proceed to either get your bike serviced or purchased. Pham goes out of his way to repair and sell these bikes, as strange as it sounds; he is NOT a salesman and doesn’t value taking too much time for window shoppers because he is a 1 man team mostly. So before you judge this shop like it’s a modernize shop with different department staffing and things like that; keep in consideration he’s doing well every thing he can effectively to run his own store, and he’s been in the business longer than you’ve prob been alive so he can tell a window shopper or someone who’s going to waste time off the bat.

Gary Truslow: Heyser is a long time feature in Laurel. I have brought several of my Honda motorcycles to them for service and found them competent and reasonable. I also buy Helmets and gloves there. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Kudos to Heyser.
Avram lubliner-walters: I was frantically looking around the entire DMV trying to find somebody who could mount and balance my new tires. I was so excited to find out that this place did walk in first come first serve basis appointments for tires! I was in and out of there within an hour and everybody I interacted with were very professional and easy-going. I will definitely be taking my bike back here for this type of work! Sassy Sauce: This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. Alan Feldenkris: Really pleasant test riding and buying experience. After a weekend of super crowded dealerships, it was awesome to come by here on a Monday late afternoon. Nick F. had responded to my email inquiry super fast and we rode three different bikes, no sweat. Excellent test-ride route to experience both open roads and in-town feel. Matt was very cool on the business end and we got a fair deal done. I also love that the dealership has Ducati, Harley and BMW under one roof which I think makes them adept at understanding rider preferences (versus having only HD on the floor, for example). They’re a good 45 minutes from my home but I’m glad I found them. Would definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the market.

The Sales Manager did a great job providing us information on used and new options, different brands, price tiers and their pros and cons. Apart from excellent information, he was very approachable and was patient with our questions. After shopping around at various places, we decided to take our business to College Scooters because of the service we were provided. We were also able to use their Delivery service to transport the scooter across states. Overall, great service and highly recommended!

Kerry Delf: Small but fairly well provisioned food section, with both snack foods and some home groceries, heavy on the convenience foods. Prices are high but better than other stores in the area. Conveniently open until 11 p.m. on Saturdays, in an area where other stores close at 9 or 10, but it closes earlier on other days of the week. Free parking with store validation. Downside: Service was sparse and heavily dependent on self-service—there were no employees on the floor helping customers, and of three employees around the checkout counter, only one was operating a register, quite lackadaisically.
Peyton Doyle: Great small format Target in a really accessible part of Cleveland Park (and just steps from the Metro stop). Impressed with their selection of fresh foods. Nice home goods section too. Unique underground store. Really friendly employees! I will certainly be back.

Spoke on the phone when I saw what Bob’s dealership had available, in few days went in, rode the bike and fell in love with this machine. Paperwork and whole transaction was painless and fast. They offer a huge selection of new and used motorcycles for any rider. Service is on another level, you walk in and staff greets you and makes you feel appreciated just by being there. Joel Isaac Garcia: I originally went in as a total beginner to get some information on a bike, gear etc. Todd Dibell did an awesome job of answering all my questions and kept a great line of communication even after the fact. Their equipment expert helped me with my gear (had a special order) and overall was a pretty seamless experience. I got some experience, passed my MSF and came back for my bike. Again, their team exceeded my expectations when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. Their finance guy, Chris, was very professional and answered all my questions. The numbers all looked good and I signed. I was even helped with applying for insurance (that, as a first time rider, I had very little experience with) and with delivery of my bike. Met with the maintenance crew as well, good group of guys! Overall my experience couldn’t have been any better and I will definitely be trusting Bob’s in the future with my motorcycle needs.

The techs are meticulous experts that focus on every detail to ensure my bike is in excellent running order and in safe condition. I ride a GS adventure and I’m not gentle on it so knowing that Bob’s techs are looking out for me when they take care of my bike gives me the confidence to take my bike where it’s designed to be! I highly recommend Bob’s for all things motorcycling, especially service! One fascinating part of this shop is Bob himself. He takes the time to meet customers and chat. He brought doughnuts and coffee to a group of people as we waited for our bikes to be serviced. Pure awesome!
