James B: When traveling I try to seek out Michelin/ James beard places and this place definitely earned its star. It's a 4 course meal at a reasonable price, especially when you get all of the app choices. I got the duck as a main and the caramelized dark meat was the best I've ever had. All the other dishes were great too, the only slight underwhelming part is the cheese didn't pair well with the strawberries alone, you definitely had to use the crackers. The waiter was great for most of the night, the only slightly annoying thing is that I thought he mentioned he was throwing in the additional slider on the house since it was my first time, but I ended up getting charged for it

Jiaren Li: Well deserving of the accolades! The meal was extraordinarily enjoyable and our waitress was both insightful of the food and friendly. I was surprisingly mind blown by the roasted vegetables - superb ingredients and good techniques make something appear so simple but feels like beyond my ability to replicate at home.

Jeff Ahn: The Dabney is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. However, had a more sub-par experience this last time. Was late 15 minutes to our reservations and lost our seats indoors and had to sit in the heat outdoors. This was a little odd as it seemed many tables were available indoors. Our server was great and was accommodating. Food was great! the corn bread was extremely hot so be careful if you decide to get this! We eventually moved to the bar as it was extremely hot outside and finished our desserts and had a couple drinks. The bartender was nice and asked what we wanted but he got out order wrong. Kinda blamed it on us in front of us to our server which I thought was slightly unprofessional and awkward. Our server made it right at the end. Pros: Catfish sliders! its an extra dish outside of the course. Highly recommend! Dessert was great as well! Cons: Table outside was covered with ants. Bartender could have been a little more professional. Overall, quality of food was great. Service could have been better especially from a Michelin restaurant.

Jessica C: The Dabney is my go-to for special occasions. It’s pricey but whenever my friend from the west coast comes for a visit, it’s our fancy/celebratory reunion dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and they pay you great attention. There are lots of little touches that make this place great (i.e., my friend and I remembered how much we loved the bread and butter last time we came, and the staff gave us tiny jars of the butter to take home with us. The butter is so good you could eat it with a spoon). The snacks/first course were delicious. Even something as boring as a radish turned into a highlight of the meal (I avoid seafood but they made great substations with the pre-fixe menu to accommodate me). The meat is cooked beautifully (though I admit the lamb was fattier than I typically enjoy — see photo) and the egg tart was my favorite dish. The drink was aromatic and lovely. If you can save up for a fancy dinner, go.

Logan Kenney: Amazing farm to table meal, definitely worthy of the star! The food was perfectly prepared and the dishes were extremely well thought out. One of my favorite D.C. spots, it’s a must every time I go.

The finished product unfolds course upon course like symphonic movements, building on a theme, revisiting subtle refrains, interposing cleaver variations, and culminating in a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime edible aesthetic experience!

Nicholas Stephens: Absolutely loved it! Wait staff was super friendly, everyone said hello coming in and thank you, have a good night heading out. Our server, Christian, was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions and was patient with our questions. Had a 5-course meal, including snacks, appetizers, entree, dessert and parting sweet treats for the road. A Michelin star restaurant tucked into Blagden Alley, worth the trip and the experience! Enjoy some of the artwork in the Alley, as well, right at the DC Alley Museum a few steps away. To the entire staff, thank you and I hope to see you again soon. Have a great night!

Julia Gooding: We walked in and we’re thankful to be able to have the choice of the fixed or a la carte. We opted to order from the menu. Warning: portions are really small, so be prepared to order a lot or don’t come super hungry. We joked you get but a dab of food (a La carte at least) at The Dabney, but it’s a tasty dab! Some highlights were hen of the woods, scallops, and the wild meringue desert. But I think the dark chocolate gelato could be darker and richer. Cocktails were interesting but I didn’t find them that interesting in terms of depth/layers of flavor. Really nice staff and positive experience, but a star off because my expectations (with the star) were quite high!

Matt Monarch: Great tasting menu, but probably not worth splurging on given the other options you have in DC. The catfish sliders are worth adding. All the other food pictured was very good but unspectacular.

Christine S: I’ve been here on several occasions, and the Dabney has always been consistently great. Quality of the ingredients really shine here, and the service is stellar. I still remember my first visit when I bit into a carrot and thought “this is what a carrot should taste like.” (LOL…I’m serious though). If you’re someone who appreciates quality ingredients from great suppliers, don’t miss out! From their latest menu (as of September 2021), I tried their chilled corn soup with Maryland crab, tomato tartine, lamb, and nectarine sorbet. I highly recommend the chilled corn soup! Natalia Mednikov: There are straightforward American-style food. This restaurant is best known for its huge old-school oyster bar—think lots of dark wood, brass fixtures, and big mirrors. That oysters was fantastic and fresh. We’ve enjoyed also cheese sampler, fried calamari and baked oysters. Everything they do is absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and friendly. We were happy to choose this great restaurant to end our busy day in Washington, D.C.

Tiberiu Hrihorciuc: Loved the experience! Tasted a dozen oysters and each one was more delicious than the other. Wine is very fairly priced. Saw it more expensive in some New York wine discount stores. The fish was such a huge portion when they split it in two plates we told them that we did not order 2 plates but to our surprise that was a full plate. If you get a chance to go to happy hours for oysters don't hesitate!

Aditya Karandikar: Had an awesome time here as a late night/ early next day stop. The food was quite nice and fairly refined, especially at such a late hour! The atmosphere was popping as well which made it more enjoyable. Service was very friendly and they had great oysters. Fresh complimentary bread never hurts either…

Sam M: This place is one of the more famous restaurants in DC. I visited this spot during brunch and it was packed. I would definitely recommend making a reservation for both weekend dinner and brunch services. I started with New England clam chowder and some salad dish. For entrees, I got eggs benedict and catfish. All the dishes I ordered were pretty good. But, I definitely enjoyed their desserts more even though I was pretty full before it. Their key lime pie and salted caramel bread pudding were both amazing! Staffs were very accommodating and attentive during the whole service. I’m planning to visit this restaurant and will get some oysters and burgers next time. I heard they are pretty good. I definitely recommend this place to celebrate any special occasions.

Suzi Figueroa: Wow, wow and wow! A friend recommended this establishment to me when I asked for dining recommendations for my upcoming DC trip. I am so glad I listened. The warm and inviting ambiance matched the service. And the food? Oh my goodness. Delicious. My SO ordered meatloaf. Who knew meatloaf could take on a such an extraordinary presentation.

Mary H: What a DC institution. I've been here numerous times taking "out of town" guests but always failed to write a review... This place is busy and crowded... so make a reservation. Service is attentive and friendly. Try to get a seat in the atrium, much nicer and brighter. *turkey club-generous portions of turkey. It was good and the fries were nice and hot. *salad greens- tasty, I wanted something light. *calamari-nice and crispy. They have a good selection on their menu, we just weren't that hungry. It's kinda the place to go when you visit DC.

Amy Workman: If you're worried that this a nice place turned tourist trap that cuts corners, worry not. We had a fantastic experience and the food was superb. Our server was in his 9th year here and I wished he could've just sat and talked with us all night. They were wonderfully accommodating and welcoming of our kids, which you definitely can't say about a lot of places. Some places know that if the kids are happy the parents are more than happy to get another round and more dishes. And then when we're sans-kids someday, we'll definitely be back to sit at one of the beautiful bars. We had the walrus raw bar which was perfect for us never having had raw oysters. They did a little of each kind they had that night and I had no idea oysters could taste so different. We had the mussels, kids mac and cheese, and sausage pasta dish. The pasta was house made and the sauce creamy and spicy. So good. After dinner we walked it off around the White House. I've spent much more at restaurants and not gotten half as much food or nearly as good as service, so even though it was our most expensive meal in DC it was also our best value. Definitely a must-go in DC.

Elaine Viegas: AMAZING! There is no other word to describe it. Since we arrived until we paid the service was perfect. I couldn’t be more happy for their food, service and kindness on my birthdays lunch. We didn’t mention that it was my birthday but they saw on my profile and as soon as I arrived they asked to confirm and no only brought my desert with a candle and a cute chocolate happy birthday place on the top. Our server was amazing, she arrived singing happy birthday, was very classy and really surprised me. Thank you for the excellence in your service. BTW the food it’s top quality, my oysters and shrimps were fresh abs really tasteful.

Matthew Hanna: This was a pretty cool place to eat. It is so old but very nice inside. Lots of preserved animals I didn't expect to see like sea turtles, walrus and more. The food was great and I really liked the drinks. You can still visit and get a really good burger and fries for like $18 or you can go all out and pay $100+ for a super delicious entree. Either way the alcohol is good.

Laura Xu Chen: Second time back in DC for a weekend and we are in Hay Adams again after 10 years. The food never disappoints and in fact everything was superb! Rack of lamb and Crab gnocchi were excellent. You have to order the soufflé! The ambiance was fine dining yet the wait staff are so warm and pleasant! We stayed for a 3 hour dinner and it was a beautiful and elegant experience

Adam Galazka: Amazing restaurant located in the Hay Adams hotel. Reservations were done via Google and confirmed by the restaurant a couple days in advance. Table was ready 45 minutes in advance. Their customer service from initial greeting through the whole dinner was amazing. Very good wine menu and you also have a cocktail menu as well. We tried a mushroom soup and octopus for appetizers. Ordered chicken breast and bronzini for main course. For our dessert we had creme Brule. Everything was amazing and tasty. We will definitely come back.

波。真秀ᶘ oᴥoᶅ: We went to the Lafayette for breakfast. Our waiter, Emmanuel, was extremely friendly, humorous and attentive. The French Toast came with hot maple syrup and the Lafayette Eggs Royale were accompanied by hollandaise sauce, which blended well with the rich salmon and eggs.

Shawni McGraw: We decided on this restaurant to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary because of the spectacular views and ambience. When we found out that the view we were seeking was not available, the manager went above and beyond to get a private tour of just that view. He wanted our day to be special and he did just that. The food was fabulous and everyone is so customer focused. The mood was romantic with the live piano player and decor. I highly recommend this restaurant for your special day.

CRPARK LLC: Fine dining at its best. After graduation dinner with great down town DC vibe. Service was superior and the environment, on point.

Jenovie Yoka: The food was really good and tasty. The prices are also fair but I did not like the service at all. Furthermore, it was simply awful! The servers that had us that night( a man and a lady) were just not professional and welcoming at all. The were working like they were forced to take care of us. We reserved the private room for a special occasion (my sister engagement) and those two servers made us have a very bad experience. Especially the lady when it can to the moment to pay the restaurant bill. In the other hand the meals and the drinks were simply amazing!

Michael O'Reilly: **FUTURE VISITORS: THEY NO LONGER DO ROOFTOP DINING** This is a fantastic restaurant in a fantastic hotel, but they no longer do anything on the roof. The roof is now reserved for events and such, which is truly disappointing. What’s the point in going anymore? The ambience of the restaurant is nice, but not nice enough to justify going. The food is great, but there are better, cheaper options throughout DC. It is all fairly expensive as well, and for what? One of the main reasons to go was for the wonderful view, but if I no longer have access to that, then the Lafayette is no longer a #1 choice.

Stacy: Good but too expensive. The servers were all so friendly and helpful. It was unbelievably fancy. You are clearly paying for the experience.

Eduardo Rukos: Beautiful & very well executed French inspired menu with a lot of highlights. The staff was amazing and the desserts are pieces of art.

Andrea Bindewald: My husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary dinner here this week. We had an awesome time. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. Great lighting, good background music, and the restaurant was cozy but not overcrowded. The food and drinks were top notch. Paced well. The plating was beautiful and the various combinations of flavor profiles was really interesting and delicious. Highly recommend making reservations as they book up sometimes a week out. Only open Wed-Sun

Guilherme Montassier: The ambiance is very modern and light. It feels like you are in an art gallery waiting for new paintings to arrive, in between exhibits. The food is definitely above your average restaurant, with well thought flavor combinations and lovely presentation. Most of the dishes did not dazzle me, but the kinship roast chicken is a delight. Roast chicken done to perfection. I was also very surprised by the black forest cake. Overall a good experience, but am not planning a return for now.

Shannen: One of the best dinners I’ve had in DC to date! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and there was a little handwritten birthday note at the table when we arrived. Food was amazing; we truly loved everything we ordered (the potatoes served with the ribeye were too salty, though). Drinks were good too. Service was awesome, and I wish I could remember our main server’s name, because he was incredible. In summary, I highly recommend this spot for your next special occasion!!

Caroline G.: Maybe we came on a bad night? We came here on a Wednesday and overall just didn’t meet expectations. Presentation was always nice but the actual taste fell short. Drinks were underwhelming. The wait time between courses was excessive. Can’t remember all the names but we got a salad, ravioli, lobster French toast, lamb, halibut, peanut butter and pistachio desserts. The salad was odd and aside from the sauce not very appetizing. Pasta definitely fell short. Lobster French toast, as odd as that sounds, was the star of the night. Lamb was very dry and the toasted bread on top was soggy on the underside which ruined the texture they were going for. Just poorly planned dish all around. The halibut was confusing because yes, it was delicious and poached perfectly… but then it was 100% over staged by the curry. I enjoyed the dish I just can’t understand why they would choose to drown out such a beautiful piece of fish. I might as well have been eating potatoes, all I could taste was the curry. The desserts were hands down most disappointing. The peanut butter looked like a Kind bar was cut in half then they paired it with a spoonful of ice cream that just didn’t go. I think I would have rather ate a Kind bar. 3/10. The pistachio one was even worse as literally nothing alone or together was appetizing aside from the red sauce which we got 4 drops of. We were trying to figure out if there was something gone bad in the white sauce or if that was the taste they were going for. Our server insisted the pistachio was their best dessert so that was alarming. Speaking of server he was nice but just incredibly awkward and I felt like I was at a car dealership instead of a fine dining establishment. Everything here was just strange and missed the mark for me. Definitely wouldn’t return but given the other reviews I’m just thinking we might have come on an off night with B staff.

Shannon T: 2.5 stars. It’s just a regular fine dining place. Soup lukewarm. Bread soft and cold. No butter selection ( not Michelin level). The shrimp appetizer was odd - it was bland. The duck breast- we had way better one in Baltimore. The prime beef and foe grais were great! The lobster toast was delicious but texture wise was just sloppy. The overall presentation of food was very very normal. Only the server was smiling but none of the other waiters or waitresses were; one even sighed when serving us soup. In sum, service wasn’t even at fine dining level. This place is just okay for a regular fine dining and pricing, but certainly didn’t get a passing grade for a Michelin star restaurant for its food presentation, quality and service.

Kaitlin Wolfford: We were beyond pleased with our experience at Kinship. We were promptly seated upon arrival and the menu was explained to us. Drinks and food all came out in a very timely manner. We ordered the following: Puree of Brussels Sprouts Soup Lemon Crusted Filet of Halibut Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder Unfortunately I can't remember what the other dishes were called because this was a few months ago and the menu has been updated since then. Everything was excellent but the soup, the lamb, and the dessert were the stars of the night. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice night out.

luci wang: Appetizers are amazing. Entrees are good but not as good as the appetizers. The roast chicken for the table is very big. If you're planning to get that for the table, skip out on entree so you'd have room for dessert

Andrea Martin: I’m not sure where the Michelin star came from- plating was beautiful the food fell flat. The seasoning on the food items was either way too much or not enough and they only seem to have salt- the duck breast was bland- the ribeye was a great cut but still not cooked to perfection. I am probably most impressed but the thumb fat asparagus tips that were tender. Left feeling underwhelmed and as though I overpaid for the meal and experience. The service was also underwhelming- I had to fill my own water glass the entire time and we ran out of water on the table and were never brought more. I also had to ask for a drink menu.

Rebecca Kaufman: One of my favorite places to eat in DC. Is it expensive? Yes. Expect to spend about $100-$150 a person if eating well and drinking cocktails or glasses of wine. However this is one of the few places that you will never be disappointed with the quality of food, service, and general atmosphere. It is absolutely worth every penny spent.

Hanna Ozbeki: came here for brunch and it was great! we did tapas style and it worked out for us even with the larger plates. we got the brussels sprouts, caluflower, patatas bravas , arugula salad, chorizo hash and hanger steak and eggs the star of the brunch were the steak and eggs everything else was good, but the patatas braves were not my favorite compared to everything else on the table service was great! quick, respectful, and mindful of our requests!

Da-Wang Wu: Some dishes are good (e.g., cauliflowers, shishito peppers, shrimps, cheesecake, churros), but others are just okay (e.g., steaks with blue cheese, fried potatoes, mussels). Since it’s tapas style, it’s better to order dishes by batch vs. all at once. Outdoor dining space is available. It can be a bit pricy for a casual Friday dinner.

Shalini: Perfect place for the first in person meeting with my team! The food here is fantastic. I loved the Bomba rice which is a rich but not too heavy and has umami-ness from the mushroom, truffle and manchego cheese. The corn was my next on my list of favorites followed by shishito peppers (decadent pepper aioli on the side), crispy cauliflower which was good. The churros were amazing- they were served with dark chocolate sprinkled with sea salt on the side, were perfectly crispy on the outside soft on the inside and not cloyingly sweet. Good service and recommendations as well!

Genesis Christina: First time eating here and YOU have to go, the ambiance is so welcoming and warm. The food is to die for! Great prices and you are able to try so many different plates because of the sizes! If you are looking for smaller plates snacks you have to go here. If you are a fan of butternut squash, you need to try their butternut squash soup! The customer service was also amazing, our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. 100% recommend!

Colvin Will Do It: This is such a great restaurant!! The little portions are how I think American portions should be as well. I took my wife out to eat a great dinner and we were not disappointed. It was expensive but we knew that walking in.

Kaylun Draughn: Food and service were impressive. We ordered the octopus, mussels, arugula salad, duck, and crispy pork belly. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out pretty quickly. The churros were good but crispier than I typically like. I can’t wait to go back!

Jacob Fitzpatrick: Estadio has an outstanding menu that is small enough to navigate, but large enough to find something for all tastes. The unique tapas range from vegetarian flavors to unusual meats - but all with roots to Spain (and Basque Country). The vibe is hip and fun, but not overpowering or too loud. A definite DC gem!

Teresa Simmons: Amazing food, impeccable service. The ambiance is so relaxing and lovely. A true gem in DC. Oysters Rockefeller was so good, best I have had in years!! The sangria was flavorful and refreshing. We can't wait to visit on our next trip to DC!!! The chocolate fudge pie was decadent and delicious! This was just 1/2 a slice, more than enough to share!!!

Alexander Staufenberg: My parent took me here for their anniversary dinner. I was sort of nervous about the vegetarian options — but I was very pleased with stuffed mushrooms, the potatoes lyonnaise and the steamed asparagus. The portions are very generous. After hearing we were celebrating an anniversary the house gave us a complimentary brownie with ice cream and whipped cream. It was divine.

Konstantin: Great restaurant. Atmosphere is nice, staff is friendly and food is really good. Oysters were fresh and fried chicken was simply delicious. This place is very popular so reservation is recommended there.

Luke L'sk: The one seafood restaurant that is repeatedly being recommended as we search online for dinner it is located very close to the White House so if you're tourism then may as well go there for a night view of the front of the president's home. if you're driving to have a file a talking for $20 right in the front so that you don't have to worry about finding a location to park your vehicle. I would highly recommend that you make reservation a few days ahead as there is hardly any space for time slot when I was booking my reservation; we were seated very quickly after entering the restaurant. It is a large selection for drinks on cocktail and wine. Maturity of the food selection is based on Seafood. We chose to have some raw oyster as well as a sample of the seafood selection for appetizer with entree as the seafood pasta and a flounder on the market price list. We had some question on the wine selection, the supervisor or the manager on the floor came to advise and give us the recommendation for the wine that we would like to have, he was very knowledgeable. Our waiter Kurt is splendid, he was very friendly and attentive, making sure our needs are met. It was a lovely dining experience to spend my friend's birthday dinner there. it was a nice touch that Kurt could gave us a complimentary ice cream brownie with a candle to blow for his birthday wish of the night

James Marable: Had the filet & lobster tail both were cooked perfectly. The lobster Mac could benefit from the addition of a more bold cheese to add flavor as it was somewhat bland. Service was great and loved that they kept my sparkling water on ice! I also had the crab bisque but it lacked crab, it was mostly onions/shallots (nothing like the crab bisque as Jeff Ruby’s in the Midwest).

Swastika Nohara: The best stone crab there is! My favorite was crab stuffed shrimp because it was creamy and delicious! Perfectly seasoned and crunchy at the same time. Creamed spinach and broccolini was also nice. We spent 156 USD for those meals as seen on my photos.

Maryam Sherbaf: We went to Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone crab for our anniversary. The service is excellent, atmosphere is nice , the restaurant is pretty packed. The food is good but it’s a bit overrated and overpriced.

Allison Williams: Wow this place is gorgeous, really nice ambiance, I want to start there. The food is delicious and fresh as well. It is pricey so if your going and you have a party of more than 2, expected to spend like 100$ a person. The drinks were good but not strong enough for me. It was my birthday and my first time there and I enjoyed every moment.

Nomad USA: Super chill neighborhood tavern. The host there is generally pretentious and cold. I’ve had this issue getting seated at the LT in the past. Their hosts is is far from friendly as is imaginable. Even with the place completely empty, getting a booth probably requires a some type of cash payoff. The servers are super chill and helpful. Menu is great. Wide variety of appetizers and entrees. I had the BBQ Korean wings and the LT burger with truffle fries. The LT burger was just a buck more, truffle fries 2 bucks more, all super tasty and perfect medium rare. They have little alcove by the bar, great for people watching, and the requisite long bar for a casual lunch or dinner. Bathroom. 6/10 for cleanliness.

Kiffa Shirley: Wanted to try something new and made our way to Logan Tavern over the weekend. We ordered the empanada appetizer, and the figgy burger with truffle and B.A.B Grilled Cheese. Everything was delicious but I may have overdone my taste buds with the truffle. They were tasty fries but next time I will just get to enjoy the burger with regular fries. Can't wait to return.

Matthew Cook: Very good food. Plenty of menu variety so everyone should be able to find something. Including some decent vegetarian dishes. Good cocktail and beer selection. Extremely friendly staff and very efficient.

Hong Hanh Dinh: Amazing service here. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly, giving us all the best recommendations and attentive to our needs. The food was amazing. I loved the steak and eggs, it wasn't an aggressive portion but the right sized to be full and comfortable without the discomfort and regret afterwards that you've over eaten. The bloody Marys were awesome! They offer different kinds of bloody Marys and you can choose which topping you'd like. There is also a huge boot sized bloody Mary but i went for an easy individual size. The dessert options are so great. I love the Mango key lime pie which I think is the restaurant favorite. Would come back again and again!

Jay Vizcarra: LGBTQ+ friendly with great eats! I had one of the famous cheeseburgers on the menu which was super tasty. Usually hopping with great people eating there. Centrally located with a pleasant neighborhood walk surrounded by other places to eat in the area.

Darnice Ward: Logan Tavern was a great choice for an after graduation celebration. None of us had ever been to Logan Tavern as we are from out of state. In our party of 14 only 2 of our party members were from the area, and they had never been either. The did not have a table on Open Table to seat all of us so I reserved several tables and hoped they could seat us near one another. I called and talked to someone who said they would and they OVER delivered and seated us together!!! Our food was delicious and each person was happy with their selection. Although the menu is not extensive it has something for everyone. We had everything from wings, burgers, dip, salad and seafood pasta. Drinks were tasty and the alcohol in them was of average amount. Our waiter. He got every order correct and was consistent with checking on us. He brought found out in a timely fashion and waited for me because I was sitting between both tables. He seemed to have another big party as well. However, the only thing is that he seemed slightly annoyed NOT rude just bothered. We would definitely return again if back in the area. Right now it is tough to service the public so I understand our waiter may have been overwhelmed, please be kind to our service workers.

John G: Logan Tavern, an old favorite over the years, haven’t frequented there as much as I used to. However, I’ve stopped in recently for the greatest drinks made by bartender John. Logan has a great fried chicken classic, with wonderful homemade mashed potatoes and generally Swiss chard… I prefer the asparagus, though, so make sure you ask if you want something different. Chipotle chicken sandwich is wonderful as well, and more recently, I have fallen in love with the pulled pork barbecue sandwich, minus the bun… and a couple extra pickle slices! Bartender John is fantastic at getting your order right, your food tasty, even while I subtract a few calories with a few changes! Thanks John for keeping Logan, local, lovely, and (de)licious!

Patty Cannon: Excellent food & service! The chef came out to meet us and to be certain we were happy! Such a wonderful adventure for us! A large group of 10 and there were several couples enjoying dinner around us...as well as bar seating. Excellent choice for dinner!

courtney mims: Nice place but parking can be a challenge. My husband loved the burger and my sister enjoyed the asparagus salad. The garlic and parmesan fries are yummy but I wasn't a fan of the Buffalo shrimp. It was swimming in sauce and too rich with the blue cheese added. The drinks are good and we love that it is pet-friendly.

Richard Holst: Elegant and delicious. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant has many quiet and corners with the perfect atmosphere. It is well organized and very clean, every inch has amazing details. The food and drink selection is extensive and everything we had was prepared to perfection. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area. We will be back here often.

Keana Williams: This was an enjoyable food experience from the appetizer breads and jelly, to the Prawn appetizer dish all the way to the lightest and fluffiest pancakes I possibly have ever had! No extra syrup needed!!! Not to mention, the bottomless Mimosas (or other drinks) weren't that bad either... I'm sure you will enjoy this place, just make sure you bring your check book! 😄😄

Dario Camilo Barros Viñas: 5 stars for real in every aspect. It has both a very fancy area indoor and a fancy yet relaxed area in the patio. The service was amazing, the food was superb, the cocktails were delicious and generous. Canver the manager was very kind and served us the calamari complementary make us feel even better served! I didn’t know the Branzino taste this good until I tried it here. We were only two so we couldn’t try more plates but do yourself a favor and try Fiola Mare!

Christopher Gillespie: All about the dining experience here, they go above and beyond. Did the bottomless brunch with amazing views. Brunch at this level of execution will be very tough to match. The blue fin ahi could be best bites of 2022 to date. The scallop crudo was melt in the mouth. Worth the price of admission.

Pe Lin (Cilibluebird): A five star seafood restaurant that deserves the five star. Great for special events minimum 50 USD per per person, but well deserved. Hakan was our server and he made this experience exceptional. Pasta’s are excellent. Georgetown next to water. Outside seating is great in the evenings of hot summers.

Roz Manning: Fabulous venue for our intimate wedding dinner with family. The Mermaid Room and adjoining patio were perfect. The appetizers were delicious, dinner was delectable and service superb.

Vannora Hawkins: We dined here for my husband's birthday. The food, service and ambience was A+. He got the Wagyu and it was cooked to perfection. My branzino was light, flaky and simply delicious. The oysters were AMAZING! The Brussels Sprouts is a must try! After trying to decide over 8 restaurants, we were glad we ended up at Fiola Mare.

Alemselam Tekeba: So delicious food. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant don’t have an Apple Pay, since me and my wife use’s almost everywhere and one additional thing wore if you don’t have an ID card you can’t be served alcohol even if we look adults we felt uncomfortable but we used other credit cards to pay and we cancel my wife’s wine order. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area.

Sam M: One of My favorite BBQ restaurants in DC. I visited this place several times and really had a great experience. This place could get pretty busy during the weekend dinner service, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Inside of the restaurant was relatively clean and had enough seating for big groups. Pretty much all the dishes I tried here were delicious, but my favorite was pork chops and smoked ribs. They also have an extensive drink and dessert menu. I really loved their strawberry shortcake. It literally melts in your mouth. Servers were very friendly and attentive during the whole dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant for some good BBQ!

Lord Edwin Carreon: I really like The Pig. I’ve been 3 times (once pre-COVID-19 Pandemic and twice in the Pandemic) and have consistently enjoyed my experience. At its core, The Pig is a barbecue joint. It does offer some upscale and fancier items, which I like. The hi-low effect is well done at The Pig. The dining room is dimly lit and cozy with its wood booths and industrial finishes. The addition of the patio offers a more casual outdoor experience. Some of my favorite items include their St. Louis Smoked Ribs and Brisket Ragu. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and perfectly smoked and sauced. Honestly, the side dishes are nice accompaniments, but don’t necessarily augment the dish. The Brisket Ragu is a perfect hi-low dish offering tender chunks of smoked brisket in a delicate, unctuous tomato and red wine sauce that beautifully coats chewy tagliatelle pasta. My favorite item on the menu is the Heritage Shank. (“12-hour confit pork shank, Yunnan potato puree, leafy spinach, roasted garlic and ginger gastric [sic].”) It’s a special dish that offers a generous portion of tender and juicy pork whose taste is amplified by the side dishes. The ginger gastrique is exceptional and balances the fatty richness of the pork. I will say, like many restaurants after these past two years, The Pig’s menu has shrunk. I really miss some of their signature items, like their bone marrow appetizer. They were unique, exceptionally delicious dishes that should return. Moreover, the portion sizes have definitely gotten smaller. Lastly, service 2/3 of the times I’ve been have been stellar, with attentive and kind wait staff. The other time I’ve been, our server was nice enough, but forgot several things we asked for (an alteration to a dish, ordering another drink, and bringing us more napkins).

Beverlyn Salva: Okay, here me out. If you or your partner haven’t eaten anything since breakfast and HAS been walking around DC ALL day and you’re looking for some food to eat? I’d recommend the Pig! My boyfriend and I have made a list of food places to go before going on our trip and so we can just pick and go.They have some great appetizers and entrees, drinks are delish, dessert is also delish… but what really amazed me is our server Kima. She was super knowledgeable, blissful, great personality and her customer service is on point. That’s what I usually look for when eating out. We love to eat but we also like to know what the front of house can do to make our dining experience better. :) Thank you Kima and the Pig (DC).

Rae Elle: The saddest excuse for bbq I've ever seen. My "smoked brisket" was neither smoked nor fresh. The server said the cornbread was great and fresh. Two big lies. Suffice to say I'll never return. My meal was so upsettingly disgusting I only took one bite. Other people at my table tried it too and confirmed it was rubbish on a plate.

Chrissy Hernandez: The food here was amazing...we had a lil but if everything. They could use more variety in the drinks menu but not a big deal. 2 must haves, the sticky wings and the cornbread!!! The cornbread is by far the best I've ever tasted!!!!

Ben Multak: Good flavors but not my favorite BBQ I’ve ever had. Federalist Pig has better BBQ but the ambiance of this place is much bette. Drinks were also very good and they are able to accommodate large groups.

Columbia City Bouquet: We come here every time we are in town. The cocktails are delicious. The food is super tasty. And we always have a blast with our waiters/bartenders- this time Michael was especially fun. Don’t go in thinking it’s going to be the best barbecue you’ve ever had straight from Austin, but it will surely be delicious. Eat the Brussels sprouts.

Tom P: I guess I'd call this place upscale BBQ. There's a medium sized dining room and a big bar. They have a huge bourbon and whiskey selection. We sat at the bar, and Mallory was super nice and gave us top notch service. We had the smoked ribs platter, and the smoked brisket platter. Both were delicious. The cheddar cornbread with honey butter was amazing, and the peach habanero BBQ sauce served with the brisket was insane. For the two of us, with no appetizers or alcoholic beverages, the check came to $60, so it's not cheap. In terms of quality, the food wasn't much better than a chain place, like Mission BBQ, but in terms of flavor and creativity, it's so much better. Would definitely go back. Parking in the area can be hard to find, especially on weekends. Reservations are highly recommended.

Adam Galazka: Amazing.....Amazing....Amazing. This place is a gem. They were very accommodating to my family of five. Service was amazing and food was delicious. For appetizers we tried mushroom soup and grilled octopus. Perfect flavor and temperature. For dinner we tried a variety of pastas and a Salmon dish. Again delicious and food temperature was perfect. Did not have to wait very long for food to come to the table. By far one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to.

Paul LaVigne: A hidden gem that deserves to be experienced by everyone. This Italian restaurant may be small in size, however the food is amazing. Some local DC friends picked this restaurant to meet us out for dinner tonight, and we are so glad they did. We started out with the Beef Carpaccio, Buffalo mozzarella, arugula, pesto, and spicy micro-greens appetizer. It is a light weight appetizer that packs a punch of flavor. For the main course my wife had the Saffron Taglierini with scallops. She says it was as delicious as it sounds. I ordered the Lamb Shank - Ossobucco style with spinach mash potatoes. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the dish as a whole was fantastic as well as more than I could eat in one setting, so I will be enjoying the leftovers for another meal. To top everything off, we had their tiramisu for dessert. It was very good. Next time though I think we’ll try the cheesecake.

Min Z: The dinner plates were delicious and well prepared. All of my friends loved what we ordered. The desserts were disappointing. We had two desserts, Calssic Tiramisu and Semifreddo - both didn't meet our expectations. If we didn't order dessert we would give the restaurants 5-star rating.

Robert Charming: Host didn’t know where to seat us. Then seated us and then asked us to move. I ordered the crab, they served me lamb. They offered a lettuce leaf to make up for it. Really underwhelmed. The food needs seasoned, from the bread to the pasta. The best thing I had was the wine… which they bought. There was also broken glass on the floor that no one attended to the entire time we were there.

Kale N: Great Italian restaurant that's close to the convention center. The appetizers were really good. The risotto was amazing. And the gelato dessert at the end was a nice way to finish off the meal. The staff was really friendly and on point with the service. Overall fantastic experience.

Arash Tavakoli: I had one of my best dining experiences in this place. The breakfast is easily enough for two people. The staff are super welcoming. Try their tarts and that tastes like heaven. Been very happy with the pancakes and hey they bring you a whole container of coffee. I also really liked that when we ordered one breakfast for two, they put it in two different plates. Thoughtful! So enjoy!

Calvin Thumma: My wife and I went here after a recommendation from a co-worker of mine. The area we are from has a number very good bistro and brunch locations but this meal blew them out of the water. My French toast was by far the best I’ve ever had, the bacon was crisp, potatoes were perfect and the eggs yummy. My wife’s meal was equally delicious, she order eggs, potatoes, toast and sausage. Nicole was our server and made sure every was perfect and never left our drinks get close to empty

Paul LaVigne: Enjoyed the bakery treats we had the other day so much we came back for brunch. Be sure to call ahead for reservations as this is a very busy place with longer wait times. The food was excellent. I do recommend you come and enjoy this place when you’re in town

Angelica Norman-Beltran: Walked past this restaurant on my way home and decided to stop and have dinner. I'm so glad I did. My waitress was very nice and sociable. I ordered their Lavender Mule from the cocktail menu, Loaded Tater tots to start and decided to go with Avocado toast for my dinner, and finished everything off with their seasonal Cherry Blossom Churros. Every thing tasted amazing, I'd caution on using too much of the ranch sauce on the tater tots. It added an extra salt flavor that my mouth didn't like, use it sparingly. The Avocado toast was worth it the price. The poached eggs were made perfectly and there was a lot more avocado than I expected so that was a pleasant surprise. (Note it can be spicy with they peppers they use). All in all I'm happy I found this place while on a walk. I'll need to stop by again and try out a nother dish!

Jessica Zheng: Pretty good brunch location! For drinks, we just got a caramel iced coffee and a vanilla milkshake. Coffee was okay, didn’t really taste the caramel flavor at all. For our meals- I got the Big Mark Breakfast. The sausage was very tasty but the eggs and hash brown were pretty bland, I ended up using dipping them in ketchup. Boyfriend got the salmon toast, that was surprisingly tasty! I was just weirded about eating raw salmon as my first meal of the day but it caught me by surprise!

Tilak Kalaria: Absolutely spectacular dining experience at Tex’s Bulletin for brunch. Service was awesome in this spot with a great ambience and location in DC. The food was excellent too so much to choose from. Their avacado toast has such great attention to detail. The S’mores tart was special! To better enhance our awesome experience someone kind patron paid for my party of 5’s brunch!! Highly recommend Ted’s!!

Hannah: Okay. I’m excited to review this place as an avid brunch food lover. To begin: we were told that the wait time was 40mjn and given a buzzer. Great. No problem, totally understand. To be fair, we hadn’t made reservations that morning. We wait 50min. They then tell us to wait another 30 minutes. My pregnant and hungry friend got it changed to 20min. Still. Once inside, the vibes were great. Our server was fast and attentive. Huge food portions and cute decor. Definitely not worth the weird waiting times, but will definitely make reservations next time!

Janice L: Things started put rocky initially because we weren't greeted by anyone on the front, we went around looking for an employee. But after that, our waitress was amazing! I forgot her name, but she was a very tall female with blondish brown hair, loved her! It was our first time there and she was amazingly helpful with the menu. The oysters, steak and salad tasted amazing. It was the first steak I've ever had at a high end restaurant that WASN'T chewy!! We ordered the NY style cheesecake and chocolate cake for dessert. The cheese cake was a bit too sweet for me, but my fiance loved the chocolate cake. Really glad we decided to stop by here during our weekend stay in DC.

Cindee Sheeler: First time visiting for a friends birthday..Was absolutely amazing. Reggie and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and very personable. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Upscale dining with an old world vibe, but not stuffy and pretentious. rob santiago: It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Kylie was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. She understood exactly how I wanted a monkey shoulder rusty nail and that nailed the night for me. I will be back.

Marie A Smith Robinson: The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant. The walls are filled with cartoon sketches of notable people. I would not recommend the seafood dishes, we had the calamari and lobster bisque, they were subpar. We sent back the calamari and the lobster bisque was barely warm. Raisin bread was phonmenal. The steak was excellent mashed potato and asparagus accompanied it well.

Jessica Kelley: Requested a high top, and mentioned a true dairy allergy.. aka anaphylactic shocked and they didn’t Acknowledge either.. even though I made a reservation & made sure to mention this. Also was told to bad we are busy for my high top. My drinks took 20 minutes to get as well! Not a good place for date night unless you want disappointment

Nicole Deloney: The chicken parmeson is probably the best I've ever had. My friend had the steak medallions and they were a little spicey but good to me because I love spicey food. Service was good and prompt.

Andre Monette: Zero stars, very disappointed with my experience here. Called at 8:30 to get a reservation and arrived at 8:45 to be told they close at 9:00 and they could not seat 4 people because they are closing. Really not what I would expect out of a place that bills itself as a go to steak house. Food is mediocre at best, will not return. Bummer because I used to enjoy it pre-Covid. This is the worst review I have ever given.

Ryan Arnt: I found this place about 20 years ago. I love german food and drinks and they do a very good job. The Hunter's Schnitzel, sausage plate, red cabbage cucumber salad are all great. Kind of a hole in the wall place but I always enjoy eating here on every trip to DC.

WABBA: A good around tasty menu, with well cooked traditional meals including Pork or Chicken Snitzel. Fair priced drinks 🍸 adds to the enjoyable experience. A good dinner choice 1 night whilst you're here in Washington DC.

Vasyl Zhepikov: Hands down the best german food in US. 🇩🇪 It is not cheap imitation , but really good authentic food. Hand made sauercraft. 🤤 On pics: Sausage combo with authentic mustard. Baked brie with jam and fruits. And of course German beer. The interior is the most pleasing to say the least.

As someone who has visited Germany and Austria, I can confirm that the food is cooked according to traditional German flavors and preparation. My experience at this family-owned business makes me feel as if I entered a time capsule into history.

Mohan Sun: This is one of the best German restaurants in town - excellent food, great beers, and friendly owner and staff. Back before Covid, there was this old gentlemen in suspenders that would always play piano on weekends. That’s always one of my fondest memories. I had my birthday celebrations there a couple of times and they were always a blast. This restaurant veteran opened its doors in 1948 serving local customers, so please come and support them! Plus, you really can’t go wrong with a schnitzel and boot of beer!

K K: Wow! Why haven't I been going here every week? Great food, elevated flavors, friendly service, nice German beer list, bus boy that plays showtimes on the piano...c'mon you can't find this anywhere else in DC! Treated me like a king for Father's day. Wish they had a patio... but that is minor. What a hidden secret.

Darren H: I have been going to this place for about 18 years and love it. The desserts have recently gotten better. I always complained that the Sacher Torte was a tad dry, but this no longer seems to be the case. The appetizers, beer, and dinner are all so good that I have a hard time ordering sometimes.

Thang Phu: Highly recommended! We stopped by for a late afternoon food one day and was amazed at how fantastic the food is. It was all so good, especially their desserts. I have travelled to multiple regions in France and I can attest the food here tastes the closest to food in France. They even have a wine carafe on the menu, just like France. I wished I lived near here so I could go treat myself now and then.

mike wittenburg: Five Stars for the food and the atmosphere. Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation, amazing. So much seating available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends and the drinks and food were fabulous. Tuna dish is a small serving. Trout was great and the muscles were awesome. Apple dessert and vanilla creme brulee delicious. Definitely a popular spot. And the bread... So much bread... Good variety of bread to choose from. Enjoy!

Cindy Yang: Service: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Got a reservation and got seated immediately. We were running late and was trying to call but they don't answer phone calls. Fortunately our table was kept with a grace period. Recommend warm shrimp salad (the shrimp is very fresh), steak, escargot, and the duck. French onion soup is a must. We also ordered fries with added truffle but the truffle is flavorless so strongly recommend against adding it the entree.

brian perkins: Loved this place for a few reasons. Let’s start with the bread. Why can’t all restaurants serve great, fresh, delicious bread? Because it’s not easy. I pictured the empty escargot plate because after dipping the bread in the garlic sauce it was game over. Add onion soup, superb steak frites, profiteroles to die for and you have a neighborhood gem. Not to mention the wait staff gives treats to dogs being walked by the restaurants. How great is that?!

Rob: The food and ambiance are always great. However, on multiple occasions, I’ve felt that the service is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Last time I felt a bit rushed and the service, while attentive, was curt. When our entrees arrived, a waiter couldn’t fully reach to place my friend’s plate in front of him. Rather then walk around the table (there was space), the waiter placed it on the table and gave the plate a quick flick of the wrist to push it over. It’s a small example but I think captures a similar sentiment seen in other reviews about the service.

Karissa Warren: Had an awesome food experience on New Years! Was a little disappointed they didn’t have their usual pastry assortment but every single item we got was delicious!! Dee Ketterman: We’ve eaten here twice and love the food and decor. The feel of the restaurant more resembles an upscale bar with delicious food, as most people are standing and drinking rather than eating. I’d like to try sitting at the bar because I think it’d be a better experience to fit the atmosphere over a low table with people standing all around. The mushroom tart is fantastic and the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The service was dressed appropriately but less attentive than expected, most likely because of how busy it seems to get. Regardless, I really like the food and hope to visit again soon.

Heivi Herne: They call themselves a Spanish restaurant. The interior is nice. Restaurant is spacious. There are different rooms with tables. There are also tables to sit outside. The service wasn't not very fast. I ordered one cocktail. It wasn't very good. The funny thing was that they brought bread, bread and margarine as a snack. I have been to Spain a lot of times and eaten there. There is no such snack there. I think that this place is overpriced

Bibiana Oe: Very cute upscale dining experience! The waiter had many recommendations that were appealing. The bread with the butter is amazing! Ordered assorted oysters, mushroom tart, beef bourguignon, mussels and frites, and the profiteroles. Loved everything and it was good portions! Recommend for a lovely cozy dining in experience since the bar and inside of the restaurant is super unique!

Rachel Murphy: Ordered the taste of the south. The food was overall pretty good, plentiful and the sampler was a nice way to try many things. Full orders at other tables looked very large. Sadly the overall experience was not great and I’d probably not return. A couple small things combined were disappointing. A raw piece of chicken replaced with a piece way over cooked (clearly the kitchen was mad) - we never ever send food back but raw chicken we did. The manager seemed to place blame on us (a lucky chicken vein). I have a shellfish allergy and asked if possible to get a scoop of the grits(without shrimp) just to taste and that was ignored. Wasn’t looking to substitute but it would have been nice (or told not possible if the shrimp was cooked in). Then a 4 top was placed at a table next to us when the restaurant was fairly empty with many open tables in the same server section. In covid times seemed odd. Plenty of brunch places in dc so I’ll try others instead of returning

Dominique: Came here for dinner while visiting a friend in the DMV area. The ambiance is nice. It's large with ample seating. It's dim-lit giving that romantic vibe. My friend and I both ordered the Belle's Punch to start. It has both vodka and bourbon, but the mango-flavored vodka, ginger and mint mask the alcohol. We got the cornbread cakes to start. We could have skipped it. They were small donut hole-sized. Wasn't like traditional cornbread and we weren't really a fan. The rest of the meal was great though. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was truly delicious. Loved the shrimp in it. It was cooked perfectly and all the flavors of the meal came together really well. My friend got the chicken and waffles with the largest pieces of fried chicken I've ever seen. My other friend ordered the Dirty chicken which had honey gochujang so it was pretty spicy. There was no sides that came with it, but the portion size was gigantic. She thought it was delicious, but couldn't really handle the heat. Overall, the meal was good, but the service left something to be desired. Perhaps the server was having a bad day, but we had to prompt him to come by first to take our orders and then throughout the whole meal down to getting the check. The issue was that with the other tables he was far more attentive. That definitely shouldn't deter anyone from going here. The meal was great and it's worth coming here for the food.

Bwalya: Was looking for a brunch place in a pinch and was referred here by a friend. This place was perfect! Service was exemplary from the moment we walked through the door to when our server returned our cards. She was humorous, patient, and extremely helpful. The drinks were great and the food was worth traversing DC for, I'll be back for sure 👍🏿

Aaron Renshaw: Had a great time here. Lots of care taken with both menu and bar options. Everything we had was top notch and ample portions. Cocktails were great and our bartender, Rafael, was fantastic! This will absolutely be on my list for a return visit when I'm back to DC

Miracle Reason: Absolutely loved this place! I went with my cousin for her birthday.The restaurant itself is a vibe - Beautiful seating/ decor, perfect for a classy dinner. Service was amazing shout out to Kayla who took great care of us. Drinks were delicious. Had my 1st proper whiskey sour with egg white. She had the cactus rose, a tequila drink. For starters we had Wings and the fried green tomato salad- Amazing, ESPECIALLY the wings. I had the chicken and waffles and when I say that was probably the best waffle & syrup I have ever had I'm not over exaggerating. The chicken was nice and crispy. She had the shrimp and grits which was very flavorful. I highly recommend.

Brenna Belletti: Delicious food & drinks at a great price point. The other reviews are correct on here about the service, it's extremely slow. We had to ask to pack up the rest of our order so that we wouldn't miss our show at Ford's theater even though we gave ourselves a few hours for dinner! We got the taste of the south courses dinner so that we could try a little bit of everything and it was fantastic!

K R: Succotash kinda sucked…. The atmosphere was great, our waiter Mike was patient and kind and we loved his service! When it came to the food it was disappointing- sticky buns: dry, waffles: hard, hang over special: salty, with gravy on a fried egg instead of the biscuit… why?… If you’re coming for food lower your expectations. If you’re coming to feel sophisticated yet comfy you’re in the right spot. I also noticed the people next to us not finish their food. Worth noting.

Bryan Mroz: Went on a Friday evening. It was full but we had reservations and we were seated quickly. Service was a bit slow but our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was perfect. We had Shrimp and Grits and Catfish. Great ambiance. There was love music mostly soul and jazz.

Tilak Kalaria: Rooster & Owl is the real deal in DC. Their Michelin star is well deserved. Their ambience provides the familiar hustle and bustle of a city. Their service is incredibly top notch, I can’t over express their attention to detail. We tried absolutely everything on the menu and WOW it all packed tons of unique and delicious flavours that were exciting to try and warming in comfort. Their cocktails including their own whiskey compliment the menu excellently. We also had a delicious bottle wine. I must say their pastry chef went above and beyond for us as we took the dessert to go. I highly recommend going out of your way to experience dining at Rooster & Owl!

The Hero Signal: Fantastic experience. Came in for our anniversary, we asked our server for recommendations and everything she recommended was amazing. The portions are generally big enough to share between two people, so feel free to order different items off the menu and share with your dining partner. We enjoyed every single dish we were served, even the rolls rough to us before the meal and the cookies provided with the check. We will definitely go back next time we visit DC.

Victoria Gesell: Decently executed meal with some highlights & a couple of low points. We enjoyed the variety of options in the four courses and how each course was intended to be shared amongst the table. The Gnocchi & Kale entree and the Mackerel left a whole lot to be desired, but the Octopus, Short ribs and Duck plates were great. While I wasn't blown away by flavors or techniques, the staff were friendly and efficient and we all left satisfied- not too full, but not hungry. We might be back to see how the seasonal menu changes.

Chris Walker: Fantastic night out with some different dishes and flavors. Go with friends (at least 4) and order the whole menu! You won’t be disappointed. From the salmon, to the scallion pancake, the steak, and the carrot pasta. Well deserved Michelin Star!

Kessashun Arthur: For starters, everything about the service I received made this feel like a warm, friendly, high-end experience. The prix fixe menu was creative with hints of culinary genius and it changes periodically (seasonally?); most diners probably never had these exact dishes before. They use very fresh, wholesome ingredients and execution was nearly flawless on every dish. If I'm nitpicking anything, my duck could have been a little more tender. Flavors were 8/10 across the board. Subtle, earthy, flavors dominated each course; nothing will punch you in the mouth. I don't think I'll every forget that tarragon froyo with my dessert; twas' an unexpected ingredient usage that produced excellence! Overall, I had a very solid experience. Portions are small-ish, but at $10 per extra course, there's incredible value in ordering as much as your heart desires. Rooster & Owl is deserving of their Michelin Star!

Leon Lin: Decent price, large portion overall, varied service, average to good taste, might come again. This seemed like one of the better value set menu places here, and it met expectations. Liked the beef with the peanuts (was it short rib?), salad, bread, and dessert. Taste was good, and the peanut crunch contrast with the beef is a nice touch. Thought the longer peanuts with the fish were a miss, was afraid half the time I was eating a bone. Service seemed over enthusiastic at clearing my plates, perhaps since I was dining alone.

Lisa Pan: 4 course meal. It came with a Hong Kong style pineapple bun for bread and it was delicious! Each course was tasty and surprisingly filling. You can really tell the Asian inspired flavors. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu items. We picked the courses individually instead of sharing, but the plates are definitely shareable (and they recommend to). I don’t feel the need to come back and re-taste the dishes until there’s new menu items, but It’s definitely worth trying out once. The Michelin star is well deserved. We had a flight to catch within a few hours and the staff was extremely accommodating and brought out the next courses quickly. Needless to say, the service here is amazing.

Andrea Martin: Great dining experience- great service (Kai, I hope I spelled that right) and great dining experience, the flavors were great octopus ceviche was a definite standout-the menu set up is unique- 2 people get to try 50% of the taste menu for 4 courses and a set price of $85. Both cocktails were great that were tried and the drink special also came with a bottle of wine. If you are visiting DC please add this to you must try. No qualms or sad ideas when signing the check.

Diana Milena Lopez Avila: We went to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time despite the fact we had chosen the patio and it was extremely windy. Our waiter, Ralph, was very helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Because we were celebrating our anniversary we got a glass of champagne and a card signed by all the staff.

ashley sprinkel: What am amazing place! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was fabulous. Each course was incredible and well plated. I left full and happy. Since we went for our anniversary they greeted us with champagne and a sweet card signed by the staff. Since I don’t drink alcohol they gave me a nonalcoholic champagne. My favorite courses were the steak diane and the pistachio dacquoise. All the courses had great flavor and plating those two were just beyond delicious. I will definitely be back to enjoy a meal in the future. The outdoor patio seating was very pleasant with heaters to keep it comfortable on a chilly night.

Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

Jessie Castner: Amazing experience! All the food was delicious! We had 4 people and got one one of each dish. We were given a gift of the "Strawberry Spaghetti", which to be honest if I saw it on the menu I wouldn't order but it was one of the best dishes I had. My personal favorite was the Asian- Italian fusion spaghetti. My dessert was the Vietnamese Coffee Caramel Coconut Crumble Mochi Brown Butter Cake (I am in desperate need of this recipe, so good!). The service was amazing and all of the servers were so knowledgeable about what they were serving. It's definitely a great place to impress someone.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

Kenny: Very nice dining experience. Only negative is the lack of ability to walk in. Orders: - soft shell crab: awesome combination of fried soft shell crab with lettuce wrap. Soft shell crab was fresh and well fried which is sometimes hard to find in the states. - steak and egg: unique presentation of tater tot in a 'race car' box. Steak is well cooked and seasoned simply. Nothing really special but this is how steak should be. - strawberry cake: good overall. Would prefer a more egg based cake. Sample: - movie theatre soup? : It was too salty. Not a big fan. Service was great overall. Would return when I'm in the area.

N -: It was my first time going to a Michelin star restaurant. The food is definitely unique, but not for people who like simple food. Not worth the price, despite its rating. The desserts are not adequately sized for a meal that big... Did not finish the dessert that served "2.9" people. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. The upper level has a quaint dining space and the bathroom is very nice.

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Ryan Montoya: This meal was incredible. The English pea cake was maybe the highlight for me and I can't believe how well it traveled and presented. All the instructions were crystal clear and we had fun putting the food together. We chose this menu as we were fasting but I am very curious to try the non vegetarian option in the future. My wife and I haven't been able to get out to restaurants so this option was amazing, but I really do hope someday to experience Rose in person. Absolutely incredible service, from the responsiveness to my request to have the food delivered early (we were traveling that day) to the very friendly, accommodating and personal service of the delivery person (my wife didn't know it was a surprise, mistakenly sent the delivery person away to my work, and the delivery person followed up and realized my wife's error and still delivered the food!). I really can't ask for better service, and it makes this restaurant a true standout among our experiences dining during the pandemic.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

We enjoyed the refreshing change to casual comfort food, compared with our previous experience of haute-cuisine in Michelin star restaurants. Our server, Dominic, was very friendly and attentive. My wife's favorite dish was Seth's Fancy Fish Camp, while I liked the Cacio e Pepe Souffle. The Steak and Eggs was perfectly cooked, medium-rare, and the sidecar was a fun addition. At the beginning of the meal, we were served freshly baked madeleines, which are the best we have had in the USA.

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

Zeyu Hu: Went to Unconventional Diner for both brunch and dinner and let me tell you they didn’t disappoint at all. Brunch: Got three different items to share for brunch, and each was unique in its own way but complimented each other so well. The shrimp and grits were perfect. The BBQ shrimp had an amazing smokey smell which really made it stand out. The biscuits were also amazing, nice and crispy and the house made sausage was great. The blueberry pancakes were the fluffiest I’ve ever had, a great sweet treat to end the meal. Dinner: Came back for dinner a week later and it blew me out of the water again. As the name suggests, the menu has a large variety and when the waiter tells you you can’t go wrong with anything, they ain’t lying. We got such a variety of food - from French to southern, Chinese stir fry to Cuban. It just all works so well. Bottom line: A must visit if you are in DC. The best wait staff and service. But remember to book ahead!

Claire Mizutani: Went out to dinner with my family and a friend from school. Great food! I really enjoyed the mezze and the Mac n cheese. Speedy service and great labeling on the menu for those with dietary restrictions. I wish that the outdoor seating area had heaters but now that the weather is getting warmer that may be less of an issue

Christopher Guarin: Was in town to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival. We made a point to stop in for some brunch before walking all over town. We were definitely not disappointed. Everything we tried was delicious! From the drinks, to the Everything Lox, and Chicken and Waffles....every bite was amazing. We will be back for more on our next trip!

Eric Lee: Got the cheeseburger and fried chicken. Both were phenomenal. Simple dishes but everything was cooked and seasoned so well. Price for these dishes were affordable. Great vibe as well, pretty large space. Will be back to try more!

Queen Melissa: Wonderful for family outing , a date and friends brunch. Everything was outstanding. The cleanliness was good. The customer service and server was really nice. My kids loved everything and they are usually picky eaters. This was my first time eating shrimps and grits all I can say it was amazing. Overall,we were a satisfied family and will be back again.

Ben Multak: Unconventional diner dishes but delicious flavors. Everything I’ve tried here has hit and the restaurant itself is a well oiled machine. Highly recommend if you find yourself in the area. Really enjoyed the Crab Fritters and Fried Chicken

Sirius Fidelity: This was one of my favorite food places on my trip. The place was a pretty good size, clean, and bright. There also appeared to be outside dining as well. I ordered the kid size portion of the Blueberry Lavender Pancakes as pictured, and the Shrimp and Grits. Nothing short of amazing. Prices were reasonable and the portion sizes good. I highly recommend this place.

Christal Young: I love a place that has vegan as well as non-vegan options. This place was so good, I came back two days in a row. Their kale nachos were just superb and their cauliflower salad with falafel was also delicious and filling. The colors and ambiance are also nicely done. There are several dining spaces, including indoor and outside seating, each with its own vibe.

ReCreate Artworks: I found this gem about a 20 minute walk north of the mall. I cannot recommend it enough. There was plenty of seats, the staff was quick and efficient, and the restaurant itself was stunning. It makes you feel luxurious without having the price tag that usually comes with it. It’s very affordable but the quality of food is beyond the price. I got a double shot of espresso and the Brussel Sprouts with Fried Egg. 10/10.

Chunhee Hong: We had buttermilk pancake, corned beef hash, cappuccino and rise & shine. All delicious! The customer service and server were really nice. Overall,we were satisfied and will be back again to try other menu!

John Darden: The steaks were cooked just right. Our waiter was polite and make our evening more enjoyable. The lobster mash potatoes had plenty of lobster meat; however, it was oily. If you like lemon drops then you should definitely try theirs because of the taste and presentation. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were huge. We had added crab meat to one of the steaks; however, we felt as though the restaurant could have included more meat relative to the cost of the dish but it was good. You can pay your bill using your phone. That was a nice touch (no need to wait for someone to come back to you) We plan on coming back.

Jaela Ford: This review is strictly for the waitress named Nicole. We would have given 5 stars if she did not taint our experience in the beginning. We were told by the hostess that she would be our “wonderful” waitress. She also came over to bring us menus and ask our water preference as if she was our waitress. However, for some odd reason the waiter was switched. When she was acting as our waitress, she was extremely short when answering our questions & seemed as though she did not want to be bothered. She also never introduced herself. We had to ask our new waiter for her name. There was absolutely nothing positive about her. It was as if she had pre judged us just because we were a table of young black women. Thankfully, our new waiter Phillip came over and saved the night. He was super welcoming and helpful. He answered all of our questions with a smile. His customer service was top tier! The drinks and food were also amazing! Thank you Phillip!

Junaid O: Definitely one of the best restaurants in DC. Went to Mastro's for my cousins birthday dinner, reserved the private room downstairs(check with the team for availability). We got there about an hour and a half before closing, yet they were very patient with us. The shrimp cocktail and Woodford Manhattan were excellent. Tried some of the other appetizers from the table and everything tested pretty well. For the main course I had the Rack of Lamb, didn't disappoint at all. Dessert was no different as well, the butter cake was the highlight for sure. Highly recommend!

Jennifer Driggers Driggers Group Real Estate: Our family ate here for New Year's Eve 2021 on our trip to D.C. We thoroughly enjoyed the food the atmosphere and the service. The Wagyu steak was definitely worth the money. The lobster mac n cheese and garlic mashed potatoes were great along with the Bacon and sau'teed shrimp appetizers. For desert definitely must try the warm butter cake. Wish we had a Mastro's closer to home. We will definitely go back!!

Michaela: Service is the strongest aspect of this fine dining experience. We reserved a private room for a birthday party, the ambiance was very nice, but the fees are a bit much. The birthday girl had a glorious seafood tower, that came out in a cloud of fog. Great insta moment!I ordered a medium porterhouse that was over cooked, I had to send it back but the waiter was great about getting me a new steak. I will say, I prefer Morton's porterhouse. The star dish was the warm butter cake at the end of the meal. Do stop by and get that at a minimum.

D P: I had a blast at this place. DC establishment. It's hardly any parking but Madtro's does have valet service. In house music. The wait staff is like there and attentive. The food was good. Lobster Mac and cheese, swordfish, steak asparagus and shrimp scampi. All was so good. The drink list is extensive but good. The bourbon. Jet setter was a great choice. The dessert don't get me started on the seasonal butter cake 🍰. Bomb 💣💣. Go and enjoy this place it's definitely worth it. Dress nice. Don't go in there looking homely.

Mark Blanchard: Food was great, but service was a little slow. It took more than 20 minutes for out server to acknowledge us and get us a beverage. The table next to us was annoying. It was 4 people Facetiming someone the entire time we were there, and on speaker. I'm all about sharing memories with loved ones, but use earphones please! It's rude to other customers otherwise. The restaurant also made a mistake on our bill but later corrected it. Overall a good experience, but could be better given the price.

Renee M: Sooo...the wagyu steak was delicious and the seared scallops were the BEST I have ever had! The sear on both dishes was perfect, the flavors were on point, and the meat melted in my mouth like butter! The drinks were CRAZY good, like strong, but made with appreciation for the full flavor profile vs just the liquor. Our server, Rice, aka the Tony Baker look a like was on it. He was very attentive and gave us great suggestions. We have 4 sides, 2 were bomb and 2 were not. The roasted brussels a sprouts and the cream spinach were tasty. The cream corn was gross and the lobster mac was under whelming. For $40 a side I would like more flavor. The atmosphere was cool. The live singer was entertaining and awkward. I would go back just to chill at the bar.

Anna Sumner: I was a member of a party of 5 for my friend's birthday. We were able to reserve a table in advance which was very convenient. Our server, José, was impeccably warm and attentive. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. I tried the chicken-fried lobster and would totally recommend. No part of our meal or experience was anything less than great. It's pricey, but I'd definitely dine here again.

Maya Bryant: Went here for dinner to celebrate my birthday with friends. They were really great at accomplishing a large group of 11. Service was a little bit slow, but that is okay since there was so many of us. Everyone really enjoyed their food and drinks. I ordered the king crab and creamed corn, both were very delicious. The sangrias were also a hit if you like sweet drinks. Just be aware that cake cutting is $5 PER SLICE. yikes. At least they gave me the slice with my name on it.

Kyle Lennon: Oceanaire is certainly a class act in fine dining, our meal was absolutely superb. The cocktails were very strong handed and delicious, our server even made one himself. He was an incredible and attentive server that I will certainly be requesting next time. The swordfish, outstanding. The baked Alaska was truly a moment to remember to top it all off. Kenyetta B: My husband and I treated my mom to dinner her for her birthday. My husband had been here many times before and it was my mom and I's first time. She and I are from Louisiana and he thought she'd love the seafood since we eat a lot of it there. I have to say it did not disappoint. She and I both had a mixed grill for our entre and my husband had the lobster fried rice. For apps we had calamari, shrimp cocktail, clam chowder and escargot. Everything tasted really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the escargot, but we ordered it b/c it was the opportunity for me to try it. It didn't taste bad, but it was more of a texture thing. The mixed grill, everything was cooked to perfection! The butter sauce, I had to get extra because it was soooo good. My mom loved everything so we were very happy about that. And they even bought out the flaming baked Alaska and she was over the moon about it. We left well fed and well taken care of. The ambiance was nice and oceanie and it's a great place for special occasions or just a great seafood dinner.

Christopher Gillespie: We had an amazing dining experience thanks to Carlos and the support staff. No glass was even close to empty and attention to detail on every dish. I got the whole fried snapper and it was as tasty as it looks. Great oysters, even had west coast options.

Sandra: The place was 5 star service, from the valet to all the staff. Everybody treated our party like VIP. We sit at the bar waited for all my guest to arrive. The bartender treated us like VIP. That service was superb. Who ever trained the staff, has done a magnificent job. The drinks at the bar and the food at the table was excellent. I was celebrating my birthday. This was a excellent choice. I felt like royalty. Prices were expensive, but well worth it. The side choices could be expanded a little bit more of a variety. Seafood choices, I expected a bigger selection, but everybody has cut their menus down. Overall the menu was good. I will definitely go back. It was a delightful pleasure. Aurora Martinez: One negative thing, we were seated next to a table that had loud people and kind of disturbed us a little. Like they were no more than 3 feet from us and they were REALLY loud. Another table had to move because the other table was loud. Not something you want to experience when you're trying to enjoy fine dining.

Bill A: While the service was good, I would not recommend this restaurant‘s food. I had to send my steak back twice and they still couldn’t get it right. The crab Cobb salad had very little crab and the side of crab Louis was a bunch of gooey whatever. After spending over $300 on “dinner” for 3, I had to go to The Hamilton for dinner. Highly recommend The Hamilton but make reservations in advance. Food is great and surprisingly good value.
