Trade: what do users think?

Hamilton Jimenez Vasquez: Great bar with a patio, good drinks but the place could use a makeover.

Day Graham: Overall good place to be and nice decent music, some people are a little touchy but it’s not that big of a deal. The only negative experience I had (not personally) but my friend gave the bartender her card to pay for 2 drinks and 2 shots. One was $35 and I believe the shots where $8. The bartender decided to give himself a tip out her card without her authorization and gave himself a $52 tip. Lucky my friend was able to call her bank and dispute the charge. If you go to this bar do NOT USE CARD! Cause the bartender will over charge your card purposely.

Thomas J R: Nice little Gay Bar in DC mixed local crowd with some visitors too. Quite small so gets crowded. Staff were friendly and drinks reasonably priced.

Daniel L: Great atmosphere, fantastic staff and fabulous clientele. I’ve visited a handful of times and always had a great time. Would 100% recommend stopping by for a drink. 🍺 🍹

Nicholas Miles: one of my favorite DC bars!

N: It was alright. We went on a chilly sat evening in march. It was moderately crowded with lively ppl. Drinks are avg and moderately priced. Everything was just about ok.

Richard: They are doing an excellent job with Covid guidelines. Fair prices, nice service. Convenient location. You need to make a reservation. Cool ambiance. I recommend this place. Drinks are strong.

brian g: Saturday night scene consistently very good: music, drinks, vibe, crowd. Music a bit offbeat (in a good way) -- a mix of old and new. Well done, Trade-DC.

Green Lantern: what do users think?

Admin 001: First time out in DC and this random find on a Thursday had be stripped and dancing in a room full of shirtless folk. No cover was a win and the bartenders upstairs pumped out inexpensive drinks in record time. Everyone was friendly.

Ashley Nichols: Went in around 5:45 on a Tuesday to grab a drink. Quiet crowd, no one behind the bar. We waited about 5 minutes with no staff to be seen before we gave up and left.

Kathryn Hutter: Great place with friendly staff. Nice vibe. Because of the “situation” bars have to sell food so they offer peanut butter jelly sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, and popcorn. Best damn cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. 10/10. Can’t wait to come back when the world gets back to functioning correctly.

Samy Azzam: On Jan 9, 2022 the bartender downstairs took a $58 Tip on a $17 tab without my authorization. My bank confirmed it was unauthorized, and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bereau.

Dustin Barringer: Long-standing DC gay bar. Management is wonderful and friendly, as are all the staff. Home of DC’s shirtless men drink free on Thursdays

Ted Kidwell: Good fun and entertainment for Adults only good service and helpful friendly staff

Humberto Garcia: If there’s anything subpar to a dive bar, this is it. Bad service, rude employees.

Joshua Roe: One of the best gay bars in DC. Fun, friendly, down to earth. Def always worth a visit.

Nellie's Sports Bar: what do users think?

Terrell Singleton: Nellies is always a good time but they r always forcefully putting some of the girls out. The happy hour drinks r strong and the music is good. We got the wings and fries which of the three flavors(Buffalo bbq n plain) we got it was tasty. There was a long line inside to get to the upstairs patio. We decided to just stay downstairs since it wasn’t a birthday or a special occasion. They have something every nite sunday is drag brunch which is great entertainment(bingo game and performances) and good food.

Melissa Mahony: Went for the drag brunch for a bacheloretteparty and our crew had the best time!! Between food, drinks, and entertainment the staff knew how to keep their customers satisfied! Highly recommended if you are looking for a fun-filled brunch in DC!

k Hall: The bar tenders were great, the security was super respectful (they deserve all the love) BUT the food was objectively nasty. The calamari was basically thickly breaded air, the tacos were tasteless and super dry, then finally the burger was just straight up nasty. I sent my burger back and after they took it they told me I could not get a refund or a replacement OR EVEN the plate I was already eating back. If I Knew I wasn’t going to get my money or a new plate back I would have suffered through the nasty burger because I already paid 14 dollars for it. I wish I took photos but I couldn’t because my plate was already taken from me! I spent over 65 dollars for very nasty food. At least the music was cool I guess.

Antwan Beason: Your security denied me time to chat with the manger for nellies. His name was Wayne. I noticed that 2 of the security guards had an issue with gay men touching them. They were yelling it out loud. Not in a derogatory sense but at all. They were very upset and expressed their grievances after most of us patrons left. Noticing how they felt and my knowledge of the previous media attention I tried to bring it to managements attention. When I mentioned I wanted to speak to a manager I was ushered aggressively outside and denied any opportunity to express myself. The security company that you all continue to hire is homophobic and is connected to previous events. I personally foresee another interaction if something isn’t done. The sheer fact they blocked me from so waking m and pushed me outside after I said I wanted to chat with the manager is problematic. Then he said oh he don’t wanna talk to you. lol in my experience you all should’nt continue in that exclusive mentality or it will lead to your conclusion. Thank you Antwan Beason

Shana Bayton: Amazing place to hang out and vibe, great drinks, fun bartenders, lots of seating. Especially enjoyed the rooftop area, very nice!

Number Nine: what do users think?

Christian Balson: I’m a gay Englishman living in Palm Desert California, my 79yr old Mum & her Wife had drinks here this evening. They LOVED how they were treated by everyone, staff & customers!…… Thank you all for making my Mum feel so welcome ❤️

Richard: You need to make a reservation in order to get a table. Fair prices, good service and they’re doing a great show with Covid guidelines. Dance-pop music , good TVs, good seating, bathroom was clean. I recommend this place.

David Walker: As a Black queer person, this has never felt like a safe space for me.

Gregory Alan: I had a bartender here complain to me that I didn’t tip enough. He made a scene and was incredibly disrespectful. He told me to cross out my tip on the receipt and put zero because it wasn’t enough for him.

Bill Sturman: There was no Happy Hour and my margarita was watered down. 😟👎🏻

Charles Schehr: Rude outside staff . When someone is new and visiting they should be more understanding and accommodating . The staff working on the patio where so demeaning . I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable .

Charles Gordon-Conn: Great atmosphere. Great guys (especially my husband)!

Ty Williams: Decent bar. All ages and ethnicities. I love the two-for-one before 9:00 - just make sure you don’t lose your receipt. Can get pretty crowded on Fridays after work. Up and downstairs. Upstairs plays music and videos on a couple of small screens. Downstairs is usually ambient type music if someone isn’t playing on the piano. I give this place 3 stars. If the music was better (it’s mostly Lady Gaga or Madonna type songs) and they offered some type of bar food like fries or chicken fingers (anything to help soak up the liquor), I’d rate this place 5 stars. But I’ll be back again.

The Dirty Goose: what do users think?

Miss Guided: Literally make you stand outside to appear it’s a lot of people inside. Literally like 50 people left out while I was the first in line and I had to stand out there for optics. Only came bc homegirl was dj’n and a friend was there. And the bartender upstairs extremely rude and nasty. Will not be back to rhythmless nation again

Ben Hemenway: They overcharged us ($38 for two drinks, before tax, at a gay bar in DC. Please). Atmosphere wasn’t great either, but shout out to Tatianna, who always kills the gig!

James Greathouse: Bouncer / security at the bathroom openly accepts bribes to let people bypass the line and get upstairs. I am disappointed.

Tim Pfeiffer: One of DCs best lgbtq spots! The rooftop is spacious and there are always good times to be had.

Joshua Roe: This is an unpretentious, fun, dive-y gay bar. Simple. Go and enjoy! Also, thank you for requiring proof of vax, smart ppl appreciate that.

luigi buscaglia: The employees are the farthest thing from friendly. Tony to be exact has a never ending attitude and her sense of entitlement is disgusting. He was rude to me and my friends every day we were there. Visiting out of town but definitely will not recommend this place when it’s employees are miserable, rude, entitled, and vulgar. Refusing to close our tab but demanded us to get out.

Braxton Mann: My friends and I had a really great time the other night. The staff was incredible. Patrick made us feel so welcomed. The drinks were strong, and delicious. And great safety precautions were taken by the staff for COVID.

Jacksman: Best priced drinks on U street and love the expanded rooftop! It gets busy on weekends, so arrive early if you don’t want to wait in line.

JR's Bar: what do users think?

N: Was there for the rupaul drag race viewing. Drag queen was fun. Drinks are very strong. I tried the seasonal spring specials. Crowd had young and older people. Was lively.

Norman M: This place use to be so fun. Sad new management has wanted to make it less diverse. I’m sure you figure out the rest ❤️

Clint Davis: It was heartbreaking to see how far JR’s has gone downhill over the past few years. I was there recently with friends and it was filthy and lifeless compared to the many years that it was my “gay Cheers” bar. Someone needs to take over management (or ownership) and breathe some life into what should be a shining jewel of festiveness on 17th Street. Perhaps the owners or management of Annie’s should take over.

Emilio Aguilar Cubilla: Strong Drinks at a great price, they have drag shows and the bartenders are super friendly

ADAM CARTER: A fun and friendly place! Great show and low prices. Very attentive bartenders. There is a promotion here, you can get a free room for 1 hour or 2 free cocktails to choose from, you need to register at 909gay,com create a profile and show it to the bartender.

Larry's Lounge: what do users think?

Gregory Gladkov: We had a really terrible interaction with one of the bartenders here. Separately from our interaction, she slammed the bar very hard to wake up a drunk person sitting next to us. Then, when we asked to close our tab, she argued with us about the letter my friend’s last name started with (it’s two names hyphenated). It really is a shame because the vibe of the bar is really nice.

Jordan: Came here during Pride and had a great time. Friendly crowd, drinks tasted good but still had alcohol, what more could you ask for?

Damien: Stopped in for a quick drink before dinner. The bartender was really nice and was helpful with drink suggestions.

Julia Byrd: Not bad for a classic gay bar. Service was good, definitely a favorite for the locals. Can get pretty busy and crowded. Just like anywhere else in the world, be watchful for weirdos.

E S: Speakeasy gay bar. Alot of older gays here. Heavy pours, late hours, cheap drinks. Come thru!

Neel Roshania: Spent my cool spring Tuesday evening after an 8 hour commute here. Steven can make any cocktail 🍸

Jamie Williams: Cute little neighbourhood gem gay bar. This place has a very chill vibe with mostly locals hanging out and having a cocktail. They have outdoor seating which is super cute and there is always someone to chat with.

Jose Andrés Morocho: Those bar tenders were horrible, mean, disrespectful and over all the worst welcome ever. Don’t go there! And if you do be ready!

Pitchers DC: what do users think?

H D: Been many times. Staff and bartenders are all-around great. Younger, diverse crowd—expect lots of women. A fun time with plenty of space, a fun dance floor (many levels), and reasonably-priced drinks as far as DC clubs go.

Adam: Fun place. Generally a fun vibe. Too many straight women, though. It’s a gay bar being inundated by straight girls looking for gay tourism and to “feel safe” but get loud and obnoxious and pushy and overly confident. Pitchers needs to be more aware.

Leah Jackson: This is not a safe place for gay women, or anyone for that matter. I am disappointed and hurt by the sexist — yes, sexist against women, although they proudly tout their lesbian bar — and rude staff/bouncers that work here and will certainly never return.

Adam Blackington: What can I say about Pitchers? From the owner to the bar tenders, to security, bar backs, and other support staff, I can’t help but take note of how courteous, respectful, and kind everyone at Pitchers is. My experience, even during the pandemic, is always filled with love, laughter, and awesome drinks. Whether you’re in a group or alone and looking for new friends (or maybe something more?) you won’t regret coming to Pitchers. Watch out though, they pour heavy here!

Bianca Martinez: I love Bobby as a bartender!!!Always takes the best care of me and everyone is always so friendly. Can never stop coming here!! My go to place every weekend

Daniel L: Love this spot so much it’s hard to know where to start. Haven’t tried the food but have seen plenty of other people happily eating. Love Thirst Trap Thursdays, the drag show, where the spacious dance floor becomes a runway. Make sure to check out their social media for any upcoming events; FB: “Pitchers DC”, IG: “PitchersDC”. There are so many levels to this place that when thinking about it I honestly have to mentally walk around each floor/section. It’s not too big where it’s confusing but just big enough that there’s always variety and another opportunity to mix it up in a different area. There are video games in League Of Her Own, the connected lesbian bar, and in a few other spots around pitchers. Drinks are reasonably priced given the fact that it is in a busier area of DC. The reality is though I could think of a few other bars that cater to the same clientele with similar qualities but the biggest attraction here is the attitude of the bars patrons and employees. When you first walk in it’s obvious how great of a time everyone’s having (whether they are chilling or dancing away) because of peoples smiles and warm personalities. If you’ve checked out other LGBTQ bars you’ve probably stumbled upon one of those bars that feels like model homeland and anyone who doesn’t look a certain way doesn’t feel accepted. In addition, the homeland for some reason only hires and trains their bartenders to have an attitude and to look you up and down after taking your order as if to judge whether your worth their time. I only bring up bars like that because it’s the complete opposite here, to the point that I’ve caught myself wanting to tip plenty of pitchers bartenders the price of the drink (essentially doubling my out of pocket expense) because of their sweet smile and welcoming demeanor. Plus I don’t know who’s hiring the staff but great job to the HR department for scoring some veryyyy attractive ladies and gentlemen to run the door, manage the bars, and do all the other jobs. Bottom line, I know plenty of us grew up wishing/hoping/praying for a space where we could feel accepted while just being ourselves and the reality is that this is that place. Whether your just visiting DC for a hot second, a DMV resident looking for a fun time, or someone who’s not sure if the bar scene if for them, I challenge you to check out this spot because I couldn’t imagine a single person being disappointed. Simply put it’s a lovable DC destination for all.

Tiya Kothary: The place is great - the owner is on a power trip and enjoys ~trying~ to kick people out. He yelled at my friends and I who were seated at a table for not wearing masks while we were actively eating and then came back to harass us. Met multiple people who warned me about this person. Overall decent bar but the owner is a terrible person. Would recommend if owners change - otherwise don’t give your business here.

Bailey Curtis: Hands down, one of the best bars in DC. Drinks are strong and the bartenders are super nice. The entire building is well kept even on its busiest nights, everyone inside was kind and welcoming. I felt safe and had a great time from the moment I first stepped into the door to the moment I left. Highly recommended.

Greg Davis: Sports themed gay bar in the lively neighbourhood of Adams Morgan. Great atmosphere and good value drinks. This place gets busy upstairs.

A League Of Her Own: what do users think?

Hillary Klingshirn: i expected it to feel more like a lesbian bar or even a women’s space but most of the bartenders were men and the place was filled with them. everyone was nice though and i thought the video games were really cool. wish they had more beer options on tap. music on the dance floor was just okay

Dougiefresh20 D: So I have been here a couple of times even when Covid was bad and never got asked to show my vaccination card. So coming all the way from VA to be turned around was questionable but to add insult to injury the lady at the door was rude and not at all welcoming. I’m not saying it was a race issue but the second that me and my girlfriend walked in she looked like she didn’t want us in there and for this to be a lesbian bar this would be the last place I would expect to be judged.

Morgan Eaves: Best place to go out & dance in the area. The music is great & everyone is so welcoming. Definitely my recommendation of where to go in AdMo!

AVATonyT: Apparently they support Ukraine and obviously LGBTQ but NOT BLACK LIVES MATTER.. there is no recognition for black lives mattering.. be careful where you spend your money brothers and sisters

Melissa Limage: Awesome place to have drinks and dance the night away. Bartenders were quick and friendly. First floor was more of a chill vibe with seats all over. Second floor is the dance floor which was completely packed. It was nice to see people of different races and labels together. Definitely will return sooner rather than later.

Jordyn Taylor: I really enjoyed myself here. Good music, people, drinks, etc. My only issue is that the bartender took it upon themselves to leave a tip of $20. I was never given a reciept but didn’t think much of it at the time since it was busy. I don’t know if the bartender thought my memory would be lacking b/c I bought a round for my friends or what. I remembered (b/c I thought the price was crazy for 4 shots). In total I was charged $70 for 4 shots. I reported it to my CC company immediately. With all that said, I’d probably go back. I really liked the vibe. I just won’t purchase anything from the place for obvious reasons.

M: This place was recommended by my “ friend “ as a nice gathering and welcoming place for all , and it is really nice and welcoming for all ( I am a trans), There is a negative “lesbian “ attitude here , the way they act around “men “, and transgenders , one girl she asked me when did I start being a “ gay “ , I looked at her , I’m not a gay , I’m a trans women , you know that “ T “ in LGBTQ 🏳️‍🌈,,, show some respect .

Bailey Curtis: I can not express just how great of a time I had here. The bartenders are super nice, even when its crazy busy, they always manage to serve you quickly, accurately, and with a great attitude. The entire building was amazing, everyone was in a great mood and nobody came off as creepy or inappropriate like many typically do at other bars. Hands down, my new favorite bar in D.C.

Kiki: what do users think?

Dre Marlowe: My partner and I have been going to Kiki since it opened in early January of 2022. This is a super nice LGBT bar in DC. We have experienced all of the LGBT bars in DC and there is a reason Kiki is our favorite spot. From the front door to the back this is a honest hangout spot. Security is always super nice and inclusive. Kiki has some of the Best bartenders that have worked in DC with years of experience. The owner is very sweet and you can find him around the bar some nights. Outdoor area is clean and a great spot to socialize away from the crazy dance floor and DJ. They are always looking to improve the experience you get. Drag shows and underwear contests are always fun. Hoping to see what the future brings when the second half of the building is open. The line is worth the wait!

sergio venegas: Edited: so it turns out the limit of people is due to their license, which is not in their control but still not the best when their total number doesn’t let them to fill the space. Watch out: expect to make long lines in busy nights and expect to find the place downstairs empty - apparently it’s all due to limit on total of ppl they can have. Still not sure if worth the one hour line to enter! … Once you make it to the second floor the music was fine, drinks, and everything else just like any other bar in town. Nothing special.

Huy Truong: Update: (5/13/2022): The owner did reach out to me and my partner regarding the incident. they are very polite and acknowledged what happened was unacceptable. They took the issue very seriously and placed the bartender on probation. That showed they really care about business ethics and want to ensure this is a safe place for LGBTQ+ minorities. It really satisfied us with their response. Therefore, we will give them another chance, and continue to support their business. Since this is a very nice LGBTQ+ bar, if the owner keeps his operational ethics this way, I am sure the bar will thrive. -------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- My experience at Kiki is not a good experience. I and my partner went to Kiki for the first time on a Saturday. We are residents of DMV for years and love the bars here. However Kiki left a really bad taste in our mouths. We ordered our first drinks from a bartender (who was white). He is very nice. The drinks were railed vodka tonic. $8 each - reasonable price for gay bars in DC. However, when we went down stair to order the same drinks from another bartender (who was Black). He charged us $10 each for the same drinks. In highlights, we did ask him if the bar take cash. And we saw him put our $20 plus $5 tips in his pocket for 2 drinks. We knew right there, he saw the opportunity to do some hustling aka stealing. There is no paper trail since it was paid in cash. It really made us very uncomfortable and upset. It really ruined our moods for the night. We went back the bartender upstair and ordered another round. It was still $8 each. We told him what happened to us down stair. He was embarrassed and told us that, he will talk to the bartender down star since it had happened before. The whole incident really makes us very upset and unsure if we want to go back to Kiki. We are local residents and been in gay bars since Town was here. We comes to no. 9, Dirty Goose, Trade, Uproar every weekend, and yet never experienced this kind of treatment ever. As someone who immigrated from Asia, and have accent, I have experienced more discrimination since Covid happened. So this just makes me feel even worst cause I feel ripped off by another marginalized group. We are the only Asian there, so we have to pay extra to be accepted? Overall, I am not sure if i can ever give Kiki another chance. But if anyone visit Kiki, order drinks upstair, the bartender there is very honest, nice, and you will never feel ripped off or discriminated cause you look different from everyone in the bar, and feel like you have to pay extra just to be there.

Christian Berle: When you think the St. Regis is expensive, come to Kiki, where 4 vodka sodas ran my husband and I $104. Oh, and that was a happy hour price. Bar was empty, I can understand why. Never coming here again.

David Clark: Fabulous doormen John & Kadeem! Super friendly & respectful - make you feel safe & secure in today’s crazy world.

Joe Drake: Loved it!!! Went with a friend and everyone was friendly. Loved the vibe, would definitely come again. Highly recommend!

Kevin Jeter: Kiki is a wonderful low key be yourself place. Sexy men adds to the vibe.

The Fireplace: what do users think?

Gregory Hill: This place is so welcoming and friendly! I love The Fireplace! I stopped in here because it was raining and had the best time. Looking for a laid-back Cheers type bar? This is it! Bill the bartender is super cool and there are lots of regulars who are so nice and willing to help a visitor find some cool stuff to do! Coming here was the best choice I made today! ❤️❤️❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Kevin Gowen: The Fireplace is dark, gloomy and completely uninviting. I give it two stars only because the bartender was friendly. It is a shame to see what this place has become.

Michael Watkins: The Firplace - Three drink maximum has been in effect as many years that I know no other place to order a best bar drink outside during a bar crawl. Stay cozy and affluent - star approved.

Delvin Miller-Wright: Nice place. Drinks are great.

dc phatts: Great Atmosphere. ❣Great Drinks. 🥂Good Times. 😍

Darnell T.: Good energy. Even on a slow night, crowd seemed to be in good spirits.

Lamont Ambrister: Not a lot of space at all.. and they dont accept card payments for drinks.

Clifton Adams: Although it takes a minute for the bartender to take your order. The bar is pretty good. Drinks will definitely get you lit. The people varies from different ages. Definitely an urban bar which I like. But I don’t like how they close at 2:30 am on Weekends. Kinda early, but other than that i have been going back ever since.

Freddie's Beach Bar: what do users think?

Alfred Jones: Excellent time! Everyone there was friendly and nice, what a wonderful time. The bartender was great - the flashing flamingo is hilarious as a drink and I love it. There is a 24 hour diner right down the way as well for the after drinking munchies so it has a great location.

Jacob Blandford: Very fun bar/restaurant. The food is good and the service is great! Go for a show and enjoy the entertainment. There is a $5 cover but it is worth it.

Sangeeta Rao: Every time I come here I feel at home. So welcomed and so accepted, Freddie’s has been there for me in so many ways I don’t even know where to start. From drag bingo on Wednesday, to weekend brunch, to a happy hour (4-7pm) cocktail with friends after a long week, Freddie’s is there and will never disappoint! This LGBTQ+ and straight friendly bar also has fun karaoke and trivia nights. Everyone who works here is an absolute gem and have great intuition about split checks and orders even when you’re in a big group. I personally enjoy the nachos or fried shrimp and the prince inspired purple rain cocktail. Freddie, the owner, is also an incredible person and pillar of the community. Located not too far from the pentagon, this establishment provided a safe space for all service members and has always provided a fun and inviting environment regardless of lifestyle. He regularly hosts fundraisers and events for student scholarships and local LGBTQ+ support groups like AGLA (Arlington-Alexandria Gay Lesbian Alliance). There is nothing more exhilarating than winning one of the raffle drawings at one of these Freddie’s events, so I highly recommend you check out when the next one is!

Angella Morrison: Second time visiting and this time around didn’t go so well, we were asked to leave because they needed the table… After driving from NYC FOR my bestie birthday we where disappointed for sure.

Nicolas Davila: Freddie’s is a vibrant and inclusive place, with a great brunch, great prices, and a fantastic friendly staff. Our server James was extremely attentive and friendly, he made us want to keep coming back. They have Karaoke every night which we’ll surely be back to try out after such a good experience.

Gaelle Claude: Such a cute bar!!! Freddie’s Beach Bar has a great ambiance. I actually stumbled upon it while working in Virginia and funny enough they were having an event so I stuck around for that. This is a LGBTQ restaurant — just throwing that out there. On Wednesdays they have Drag Bingo, which is one of the events I was referring to, it was pretty fun. If interested, you need to rsvp a week in advance. The staff there is super nice and friendly. I made it for happy hour too! Lucky day over all lol. I ordered a piña colada and blue cheese burger. The food was good and so was that cocktails.

James Leach: Wow! Had Sunday brunch with my husband, Daughter and our nanny this morning at Freddie’s. Staff was great, food was off the chart and experience was 10/10! The donuts with ham and cheese are a huge hit!!! Thanks for making the day!

Michael: Hands down the best Drag Brunch in the DC/NoVa area. No one can compete with Destiny B Childs! I have seen this show many times, and each time is different! Perfect for a get together or a getaway! Great staff and atmosphere.

William West Hopper (DC Car Guy): Nice spot for a drink or a meal. Not a crazy place very relaxed. More like a neighborhood bar.

Uproar Lounge & Restaurant: what do users think?

Brian Copes: Went last night for a night out of gay bar hopping and fun with my boyfriend and it was nice. Loved the multiple floors, DJs, and outdoor patio space. The bathroom was even clean and nice too. It wasn’t a popular night due to low crowds, but overall I was impressed with the venue and possibilities once there’s a good size crowd. Overall, I would recommend it but make sure you go on a good night where you have the energy of the crowd with you to dance and drink the night away.

Tony B: Great bear bar in D.C.! Prices are reasonable, service was great and the staff is very friendly! They even brought out free snacks while you we’re having your drinks! Love this place! 3 floors and the rooftop deck is very nice!

Aránzazu Ascunce: The food is always consistently luscious and tasty... what really took this experience over the top was our amazing server! She had 10 tables at once and treated us like there was no one else in the room. Give this woman a huge raise, she was phenomenal!

Cole Hiser: One of the best gay bars in DC for sure. It feels very welcoming, but there are very few women (to be expected for a gay bar--just wanted to note that).

C Meadows: Love the roof and snacks they provide on Sundays. The music has also been great lately.

KOBI: A great spot to spend time w friends, especially the roof top bar. Great music, outstanding DJs!

Licht Cafe: what do users think?

Maxwell D.: Don’t kid yourself, this isn’t a cafe. It has that vibe but it has bar snacks and a cheese board for food. This is a very chill LGBTQ+ bar with a lounge style atmosphere that rarely gets louder than conversational volume. The cocktails are pretty good as well and won’t destroy your wallet. It’s very quickly becoming a regular spot for a laid back evening.

Francisco R: Nice small cocktail menu, good crowd, music at a nice level to talk with friends or strangers. Unfortunately, my order took 25 minutes…for an old fashioned. The bar staff made drinks for large group that arrived after me and my guess is that they completely forgot my order. Bartender apologized but it’s not a good first impression.

Stacey J. Halliday: Licht is a very welcome addition to the DC scene, bringing warm European cafe culture, delicious drinks, and elegant design to U Street. The space is a fun and relaxed with, of course, amazing cocktails! I can’t wait to try the expanded menu and become a regular.

Tommy Hart: Went because I heard it was good and craft cocktails. Not so much. Yeah space was cute but tiny. But cocktails were basic as any other bar and not done well AT ALL. Ordered an Old Fashion. Lady bartender muddled the fruit (you don’t do that for this drink) and then put it all in a shaker and poured over crushed iced. Not at all how you make this drink. Worst Old Fashion I ever had. My friend ordered a Grey Goose Martini. They literally asked him would you like gin or vodka. These bartenders don’t have a clue what they are doing. MAKE REAL COCKTAILS WITH ACTUAL ICE CUBES AND TEACH YOUR BARTENDERS HOW TO MAKE A REAL DRINK. Telling my friends not to bother going. Waste of money. Better drinks elsewhere. I was excited to go and so let down. I’ll go elsewhere until they figure out how to make drinks. Get someone in there to show your bartenders how to make a real drink please!

Daniel Arrieta: This is an great spot for chill times with friends, or a fun relaxed date. The decor is just amazing, and the seating very comfortable. The service was excellent!! The drinks were made with care and attention, and tasted delicious :-)

Amin Spana: Must try! Greg makes great drinks! The bartenders were friendly and carried on a lively conversation with patrons seated at the bar. It doesn’t accommodate large crowds which I find attractive.

Mark Meier (He/Him/His): Licht is the best bar in DC! Craft cocktails here are fantastic. Ask for Markco—he won’t let you down. Licht is relaxed and a perfect counter to the bar energy in DC

John Gilbert: Cute little spot for drinks! Very welcoming space with friendly staff.

Jackie Yuille: Spencer and Markco were great and helping us host our post wedding celebration. Spencer put together a great slide show of my wife and myself to be show on the tv’s in the cafe. While Markco hand craft a specialty spirit for the happy couple for our gust to partaken. They were generous enough to allow us to reserve space on one side of the cafe to entertainer guess. The night was truly fabulous!!

Crew Club: what do users think?

Mike Johnson: Sooooo much fun! I went on a Friday night and the place was packed. I got a room for some privacy and then walked around the place. There were so many guys to choose from. I just took one after another to my private room. I was exhausted at the end of the night. What an experience!

Gerard Cosby: Some of the staff is nice some of them are a big Judgemental and Definitely exercise the gate keeper clause by accepting coronavirus virus’s cards for some and not others. A great to disguise Be accepted in the not. One day I was accepted and the other i was denied access with the same documentation. Same letter I wrote to the manager.

Cam Kirsch: Super dirty and the demographic is a lot older than expected. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad place, it’s just not my scene with the age group there.

WEISS: Overpriced: Average room + entrance fee- = I paid 40$. Way too expensive. They make u pay for the room, otherwise you’re destined to wander around the corridors and say yes to whomever got the room first. Also they say the line for the rooms is huge, but it’s not - they do it on purpose to give you more expensive options when they have plenty of cheap ones. Dirty: self-explanatory. Sauna was barely warm. The floor was disgusting. Men: mostly old (55+). Boring. Little action. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Jeffer Ddk (Jeffd337): The rooms are a bit pricey for the short amount of time you get to stay in them. Staff was attentive and knew what they were doing but not very friendly. They were definitely stern, straight faced city types. You’re way better off going on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night if you want attractive men, most other days it’s a gamble. Wouldn’t visit again unless they were having an event or party.

Derek Hawthorne: This place is clean, nice staff and centrally located. Their room rates are very high for the space you get. You can barely get in and close the door. No Cumunion fun, the dark room is closed, the steam room often smells like urine and dry sauna is tiny and very hot but doable. With limited options in DC its ok but, they no it and make you pay dearly for it. I still go but no where near as often as I did before. At this rate it will soon be just a gym and may become a Planet Fitness...joking....but it could happen.

Dale Kawamura: The front desk staff is extremely rude and unfriendly. Especially to out of town guests. Don’t expect any kind of help or special consideration if you’ve never been to this club before. We were visiting from out of town and we’re given bad advice and checked out thinking that we would be able to step out get something to eat and come back and enjoy the club. We were not told that there was a rule saying that you could not return to the club within six hours of checking out. We clearly were told that there wouldn’t be a problem if we just went out to get some food and come back. But when we were turned we were turned away by the extremely rude front desk staff. In fact They shut the little people door on our faces when they did not want to hear our concerns.

Black Whiskey: what do users think?

Nicholas Miles: the selection of whiskeys is beyond amazing! and Joseph is an amazing! basically, the bar is amazing! lol

Jon Meyers: My favorite local bar here in Logan Circle. The selection of bourbons is second to none, (well, perhaps second to Jack Rose, but they do larger pours here at Black Whiskey). Great knowledgeable bar staff that can help you if you’re intimidated by the vast selection.

Laura Okpala: Bartenders refused to serve me for no reason - me and friends had just walked in and I was waiting quietly at the bar for my turn. They just refused to acknowledge I was there wile serving everyone around me. I suspect it’s because I look different from most of their clientele *cough* - Thanks to the preppy guy standing next to me for ordering my drinks for me because he also recognized how egregious they were being! Terrible bartenders definitely!

theDSsucks: Upstairs! Otherwise you end up at the gay bar. The 2 bartenders were both really nice, polite, and patient as I admired their whiskey menu. The whiskeys are a tad bit pricey but the 1oz option buffers the guilt of spending that much on some rare stuff I wanted to try. The good stuff is pricey so that’s not their fault. Industry standard. Thanks guys!

Matt Leaf: Don’t let the hole-in-the-wall feel fool you—this is a seriously amazing whiskey bar. The no frills, comfortable atmosphere sets the stage for what this place is about: seriously good whiskey. I highly recommend getting their Black Whiskey Manhattan. They blend the high end ingredients and age them together in oak casks. The result is an amazingly flavorful and unique cocktail you won’t find anywhere else.

N T-K: Very small but the vibe is large! The music was great and people seem to be having a great time! The music was loud enough so we could all hear. Loved that versus the other bars where tou hear more chatter than music. Also the bathrooms were really clean.

Saif Areikat: I’ve been there multiple times this summer. This place is very lively especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The staff is always making sure everyone is well and very courteous. A plate of goldfish on the house! Totally recommend 10/10

Blaine Chitwood: Awesome bar and as a bourbon connoisseur I anticipated coming here more than any bar in dc but the blonde door man said he would watch my blantons while I walked down to get a friend and he said I’m not your “drinks baby sitter bro”. Huge fan of the bar and had a $670+ bar tab but will not return because of this employee. I am truly saddened by this. 😪

Alexandra Yeager: Would be a much better bar if they did not feel the need to play a bass in such a small space, at least four days a week. No one goes there for the base. It is a small bar with relatively good cocktails. But the noise and is unbearable. As a result you can’t Hear yourself think, never mind other people speak. I wish they would play music but no bass. Or even less loud music would be a major help.

Dirty Bar: what do users think?

Kel M: If you’re partying here this Memorial Day weekend be careful. My friend and I stopped by one Saturday afternoon when there was supposed to be a Caribbean party, somehow it got canceled. However, the tickets were still on Eventbrite. Even though the party was canceled we decided to stay anyway because the DJ was great. After about 15-20 min the bouncer asked if we would leave after we finished our drinks, I think it was because we didn’t fit the demographic. All we had done was walk in go to the bar and sit down to enjoy our drinks and great vibes. Overall just an awful experience.

J Winns: My friends and I had a great time here. It was on a Sunday for brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas. It is the perfect mix of shall I say,”Bougie and Rachet”. Upstairs and downstairs has tables and seating,so you can dress nice, have a seat, and socialize. The buffet is pretty good as well as the music which was nice with a good mix of old and new hits. The vibe is chill and ready to have a good time. While i was there i even seen a cast member from Love and Hip Hop NY which was refreshing lol. The drinks were a little pricey, but the atmosphere to me makes it not so bad.

Chad Goyette: Overpriced everything, will make you wait in line to make their establishment look busy. Once upstairs place is empty and $20 cover is too much when drinks are almost the same price. Only reason I give 2 stars and not 1 is because they did have a great sound system.

Luke Lu-LaLiberte: This place feels like it is owned and operated by meatheads that are running their business based on television portrayals of clubs owned by organized crime syndicates. Lasers and smoke machines? OK. Bouncers looming around permanently empty VIP section? Hmm. Bouncers that only let in a couple people every 5 minutes even though the bar is empty? Ooooook. Ridiculously high prices? Lame. Female staff dressed in lingerie? Weird. A swing with its own bouncer making sure only girls can sit on it? Oh come on, what is going on here? Gets a second star because you can drink free from 11-12 on Fridays (sign up in advance on eventbrite).

Harlot DC Lounge & Restaurant: what do users think?

nakea fountaine: BEAUTIFUL PLACE!! I would never recommend! Everything was nasty to me and my friends. None of us enjoyed our food! And the service was terrible! Banana pudding taste like the box and not in a we hooked it up kind of way but straight bland and almost chalky. Steak and eggs was nasty eggs bland, shrimp and grits nasty, bread pudding was like someone messed up baking and just served it eggs Benedict w salmon nasty They didn’t bring condiments and the server would walk away so fast and be gone for so long. AND TO TOP IT OFF MY FRUIT WAS NOT RIPE IT WAS ROTTEN! not to mention I ordered fresh fruit with yogurt and honey, I wasn’t informed when I ordered that they had ran out of yogurt! Oh and my salad didn’t come w the croutons either but I seen them on other salads. Very dissatisfied, and we paid a pretty penny too. I would suggest you all hire more staff on your really busy time of the year or whatever I think if you had more staff a lot of this would’ve been avoided. Also I love my Hispanic people but it’s difficult to get help from them when I can’t communicate w them so the server needed to come back but I couldn’t find her. Very frustrating!

Tikesha Ross: Belly was the best server ever she made our experience so great! The food was good the music was good. Me and my friends really enjoyed ourselves….. Thank you Bellly ❤️❤️

TeQuila Carroll: This place is cute. Like IG worthy but that’s it lol Went here for brunch on Sunday, of course, and it was just OK. No valet parking. They take reservations but I think b/c EVERYBODY has been here it was not packed at all. Suitable for all ages (21-50). The food was subpar. Bottle service was a joke to me. They have hookah, electric, which was very different than your standard coal option. It’s a set menu for brunch. $35 for a appetizer, entree, and dessert. You can order Mimosas by the glass or opt for the “bottle service”(6 mini bottles of champagne) with a complimentary juice. If you want extra juice it’s $10. Don’t let the camera guy fool you. It’s $20 a photo. They do have a DJ but they seemed inexperienced. I’m glad I went b/c it was so hyped. But I’m wouldn’t return.

Shavon Alicia B: I enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere. The food not so much. Our waiter was super sweet and nice. This more of a vibe, smoke hookah spot and a light meal like wings. Not a really Brunch ,due to the food being just ok.

Brittani George: I will continue to support this business and make sure to come back. I went here to see my first drag brunch for my bachelorette party (part 2), and the place, food, staff, and performers were all top-notch.

Ryan Morton: I would not recommend this place. My boyfriend tried to surprise me for my birthday to come here. We were running a little late because we were looking for parking. They did not inform us that we had to be on time or you will lose your reservation. So we lost our reservation after 15 minutes. Once my boyfriend spoke with the people at the door, they told us to go online to request a refund and reschedule. We try to request the refund online, and then received an ignorant response. “Unfortunately you were late, no refunds.” The people that work there in front of the door advised us to go online and request a refund and reschedule. I would never come here, I would never tell my friends to come here, I would never recommend this place. Definitely went somewhere else for my birthday and had a ball. I hope y’all step your customer service game up one day, because if not, y’all would definitely lose business.

Vocalbeast AJ: It saddens me to have to give this place such a low rating. I’ve passed this place many times on Sunday and wondered how their brunch was. I took a friend for her birthday, and I was very disappointed. Firstly, their website stressed the important of being on-time, however, we waited in line and didn’t get in until after our reservation time. The line was cramped and people also were being allowed to just walk in the front of the line because their party had already been waiting...causing a further delay for us to give our contact into and do the temperature checks. The server was anything but pleasant. She kept forgetting our order, and got an attitude when I ask for a manager considering after well over an hour my food had not arrived. Both dishes were done incorrect, but more importantly my own which came finally well after my friend finished eating hers. I ordered a MW steak which came out WellDone, and fried hard eggs that came out over easy. When the first plate came out...like I said well before the second plate but still about an hour after the order was placed, the server made a guess that it belong to my friend. We order the same thing with a few differences. Here had an item on it that I specifically told the waitress I was allergic to. The manager on duty was polite and attempted his best to resolve it, but unfortunately his efforts feel extremely short. I was totally dissatisfied and turned off by the experience. The food I received came as they were transitioning into their next phase of dinning, clearly exceeding two hours. We stayed to finish our drinks we purchased, paid for the bill, and continued on to another spot nearby so I could eat. I thought about giving them another shot because the decor is amazing and the music was right on time...however this is not a solo or duo type place. You need a group of 4 or more to get seating that won’t be by the bathroom or in an area where staff including management can stand. I dealt with three guys above 6 feet who worked there including security standing right by me so they could watch the game. Clearly violating the six feet rule. I asked if they could move and they ignored me until I asked a staff member to ask them. This caused people to but my table trying to pass them and my person. I love football, but also like being in good health. I can’t recommend this place for food, but it def attracts a nice young adult crowd where the majority are pretty well put together if you’re looking to network.
