Tri-State Funeral Services: what do users think?

Gregory Kesten: I am a member of a South African family who recently shared quite a remarkable experience with Mr Milton Tellington. My Beloved Sister-in-Law Lynette Bernice Soudien lived in Washington DC for more than 30 years. On the 7th January 2022 she passed on just 3 months before the anniversary of her 70th birthday. Her sudden death was a tremendous shock to the family which was worsened by the fact that none of us were able to undertake the journey to DC to attend to matters related to Lyn's estate and the disposal of her remains. We were forced to manage this process by making use of the internet. The initial Virtual journey was extremely frustrating and depressing as we tried to secure the services of a DC Funeral Home to assist us with undertaking the cremation of Lyn's remains and for her cremains to be sent to us in RSA.Then all of a sudden, through the assistance of a wonderful South African Lady who was introduced to us and who also resides in DC, I was referred to Mr Milton Tellington. Milton, in all sincerity, we as a family humbly acknowledge that this was Divine Intervention. GOD witnessed our plight, took pity on us and then GOD mandated you to assist us. You selflessly undertook to shoulder our burden and complete the task on our behalf. Amazingly your cost was so much lower than the other quotes we received. Mr Tellington, on behalf of the Soudien/Weimers/Kesten families in South Africa, we humbly thank you for your empathy which allowed you to selflessly assist us in dealing with the completion of all the matters related to effect the disposal of our Beloved Lyn's remains. May Almighty GOD Bless you.

Cin D: I called 4 other place for cremation services, and Milton was the only one out of all of them who said "I'm sorry for your loss." He got my business, and was so nice, and kind, and took very, very good care of taking time to explain what happens next, and how things work, and never having gone through this experience before, I can tell you that he was always available and took very good care of our family. Thank you Milton, for your excellent service and compassion.
Response: Thank you for those kind words. We do our best to treat each and every client as family friend, worthy of compassion and patience - not just another case to work. Thank you again for entrusting Tri-State FS. Respectfully, Customer Service Staff

Marie St. Patrick: I Just used Tri-State Funeral Services and was very pleased. During the planning stages we never felt pressure to "buy up" for items. They covered the details in a thorough, professional and caring manner. My mother looked beautiful, they did an amazing job. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I must say - I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the price for the viewing and cremation. The entire experience during a difficult time was outstanding and our family would recommend Tri-State to anyone in need in the Washington DC or Maryland area.

Barnetta Brawner: Mr. Milton Tellington the owner of Tri-state Funeral services and his staff are the epitome of Excellent! They are compassionate and caring as well. I have used other funeral homes in the past, but not any more. This funeral home is a blessing to anyone they provide service to. We really appreciate how this company helped us during our time of bereavement. Thank you so much!

Patricia Santos: My family and I just want to say thank you again for your compassion during this difficult time in our lives. As a Hispanic American family we were very happy with the professionalism and caring attitude for our culture showed to us by Tri-State Funeral Services. The pricing was affordable and well within budget. My sister looked so natural and peaceful. By far they are the best in the Washington DC area if you are of limited funds.Thank you again for all of your guidance with the final arrangements. Just very pleased with how everything came together. -Patricia & Family - (Patricia Santos)

J & A: Mr. Tellington was able to provide us with a beautiful cremation ceremony for an affordable cost.

Angela Beckwith: Never use. We had to use them when my son pasted. Very rude treated my sons step mother better then me his only mother. Almost dropped my sons casket trying to get him out the hurse onto the gurney. Handed my son's ashes at the door didn't let me in. Never Never Never use them if you have any respect for your loved 1. I probably don't even have the right ashes if I investigate.

Allie Cat: I appreciate the affordable costs of cremation and live-stream ceremony. I do wish Mr. Milton wouldn’t always sound so grumpy though. At the end, overall I am happy with his help during this hard time, although there were some rocky moments but we got through them. Thank you.

Siobhan Pereira: Tri-State Funeral Services were very good. They let me know exactly what I needed to do, arranged paperwork and processed everything quickly, enabling us to organise my father’s body to be cremated in time to bring his ashes home with me, ensuring that his ashes were packaged in a way that flying with them and airport security wouldn’t be a problem. I would recommend them, they were compassionate, helpful and communicative, which is just what I needed at such a difficult time.

m cole: Our family used Tri-State Funeral Services 3 times this year for my Mom, Uncle, and Pastor. We were treated royally with service and compassion. Every detail was taken care of. When we were unsure of the next steps in the process, Mr. Tellington and staff were right there to assist. The staff did not pressure us and provided several alternatives. Every one of our deadlines were met. They were kind, knowlegeable, and professional. God bless you and thank you for making such a difficult time a peaceful experience. Families of Barbara Ballou, Clarence Hicks, and Pastor Donald Cole

L H: Let me start by saying Thank You to Precious Memories Funeral Home ☺️. We used Precious Memories a few weeks ago for my brother. A sudden death of a loved one is never easy to process or deal with. From the start of planning Mr.Payne, Tamika and Ginger were very sympathetic while being very professional. The virtual steps and mtgs were extremely easy to navigate. We had every question that one could even imagine and each one was answered. I know I called all day but was greeted with heart felt voices. I was very worried about the appearnace of my brother . Mrs.Payne ensured me that the team would provide the best services and they did just that. My brother looked like he was very much alive . The entire team deserves a standing ovation. Funeral day , the team handled everything in a professional manner. Let's not forget about Jason who picked up clothing with a smile and empathy. From the family of Michael Nicholas, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will definitely recommend to others Lanita and Rebecca

Joseph Gawler’s Sons, LLC: what do users think?

Diana Lach: I cannot say enough about how amazing Kennedi, the funeral director, is at Gawlers. She is so great at her job. She is reliable, does what she says she is going to do, when she says she is going to do it. Thorough and detail oriented. I haven’t received this level of customer service from anyone in any industry, in some time. Glad to know great customer care isn’t a thing of the past!
Response: Diana, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review with us. It was an honor to provide you with the thorough and detailed service needed during this time and we are so touched by your recognition for Kennedi. Thank you for placing your trust in us and know that your kind words will be shared with the team. We are always here for you and your family and I hope that reach out whenever you need us. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Ida M: Joseph Gawler’s and Sons for me is now synonym to superior customer service and care. I am eternally grateful to them for having kept and taken such good care of our father’s remains. The staff's support and grace shown to my family during our season of mourning was truly a blessing. I am glad that we chose them to honor our father.
Response: These are truly wonderful compliments, Ida, and I deeply appreciate you taking the time to share. Thank you for trusting us to provide guidance and support throughout this sensitive process and please know your recognition of our team's efforts will be conveyed to everyone here. Please do not hesitate to give us a call if there is anything else we may attend to as we are always here for you. -Joshua Carter, Location Manager

Jeffrey McCarthy: Joseph Gawler's Sons is exceptional. Our recent experience with them could not have been better. From start to finish, no detail was overlooked and everything was done with great sensitivity. While they are efficient and very attentive, they also give you the right amount of space at a difficult time. I can't imagine better service and my entire family is very appreciative.
Response: Jeffrey, I am truly touched to hear you say that your recent experience with us could not have been better. Our team works diligently to make sure no detail is overlooked, and I want you to know that we will continue to be here for anything your family may need. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Jennifer Howard: When my mother died in the summer of 2021, Gawler's handled her final arrangements with sensitivity and compassion. They provided much-needed emotional as well as logistical support, which made a tough time easier to get through. I appreciated the time they took to talk with us about what we wanted, including the opportunity to have a memorial necklace made. When we could not get to the funeral home in person to pick up my mother's ashes, Gawler's sent them to our home by courier (who was wearing a suit and tie and was very respectful). I think my mother would have been impressed by that and by Gawler's long and illustrious history of making final arrangements for some of Washington's most notable figures. (Stop by the Founders Room at the funeral home to get a better sense of that.)
Response: Thank you for allowing us to be here for you during this trying time, Jennifer. We realize that these decisions are never easy which is why we were more than willing to provide guidance and support while helping as much as possible throughout this sensitive process. It is heartwarming to know that we were able to help make this a bit easier for you as your comfort during this time was of the utmost importance to us. Please know your kind words will be shared with the rest of our team and I hope you will feel free to reach out if there is anything more that we can do for you. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Lynn T: My father chose Joseph Gawler's Sons to take care of him after his passing. He had drawn up a plan with them several years ago and made all of his choices for the visitation and follow on service. This was a big help to his children. But decisions and plans still had to be made. We worked with Ron Heavin to accomplish his wishes. Ron was both professional and compassionate. His friendly nature, as well as his attention to detail, helped us in a difficult time. Additionally, the entire staff that we worked with at Gawler's were very kind and helpful. The funeral home is beautiful and the history is very interesting. We were glad that Dad chose so well.
Response: Lynn, our team is passionate about offering the professional and compassionate care that is absolutely essential throughout this process and I appreciate you taking a moment to highlight the detailed and friendly support you received during this time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and we are here for you if there is anything else that you need. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Pablo Elliott: We were so fortunate to have Joseph Gawler's guide us through my father's recent passing, and helping us through the process to organize a memorial service and so much more. The staff was responsive to our every need and made a hard week so, so much easier. The chapel and updated social spaces were perfect for an event that felt warm and distinguished at the same time. At a time we were reeling, this place and was an anchor for us, and we will always remember that.
Response: Pablo, our utmost goal is to guide those we serve through this journey with compassion and respect, so we are sincerely heartened by your recognition for our staff's perfect service during your beloved father's arrangements. Thank you for sharing and please know that we are always here for you. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Ryan Martin: My family has now gone to Gawler's for two relatives who have passed away and both times we have been treated so well. The personal service as well as the impressive atmosphere are important to note as well. Kennedi was our funeral director, and she made the process way less stressful than we thought it would be. A big thank you to Joseph Gawler's Sons and Kennedi
Response: Ryan, thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us. Your praise of Kennedi's service is much appreciated and I am touched to know that she helped make this process less stressful during such a difficult time. Should you ever need anything, please give us a call. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Douglas Foster: Our family was very pleased that we chose Joseph Gawler’s Sons to take care of our dearly beloved mother’s funeral arrangements. The funeral home provided us with a very clean environment and excellent services. The services were well organized and no stones were left unturned. The Funeral Director Ron Heavin was professional, cordial and very attentive in handling all our funeral needs at a difficult time. Team players, Kevin Barnett, Kennedi Syphax, Larry Gould, Bruno Fusco, Joanne Fusco, Kyle Halpurn, Zach Lesniakowski and Patrice Sullivan worked together in a smooth and orderly manner during the services. We would like to extend our sincere admiration and appreciation to the entire staff for all the hard work and dedication they rendered to our family. We highly recommended Joseph Gawler's Sons to all our family and friends.
Response: Douglas, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. My staff and I consider it an honor to be trusted with such an important moment. Know that you are in our thoughts and if there is anything more we can do to help during this time, you are welcome to reach out. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Alan Coker: This week my husband and I had the opportunity to tour Gawlers. Kevin Barnett, Senior Funeral Director was our guide. Right away you could see how passionate Kevin is about his work and proud of the history of Gawlers. This passion is on display at ever point in the Gawler facility. The building exuded warmth and comfort for grieving families from start to finish. Gawlers is a DC institution and we hope it stays that way. I highly recommend Gawlers families when the need arises.
Response: Alan, thank you for sharing your kind words for Kevin and our staff's service. We would be honored to attend to anything else you may need and I hope you will not hesitate to reach out for anything. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Shahab Albahar: While the loss of a loved one is never a joyous moment as grief consumes those still mourning their loss, words fail to express how Joseph Gawler's Sons ensured our departed loved one a beautiful memorial, one down for the books. While our beloved Dedi Liem Gunawan Hickory had a short-lived life, his loving nature that would brighten up any space left us with an eternal legacy of love, compassion, and laughter. He always threw the best and most fun parties at his home, gathering people from all walks of life under one roof to have a good time. The venue is located in a convenient neighborhood, and the facilities are comprehensive. The building itself is aesthetically pleasing, with a rich and rooted history dating back to 1850. The ambiance of the space felt warm, calming, and inviting. Under Kennedi Syphax's supervision, meticulous planning, and following through even after hours, she helped fulfill Dedi's last wish, which is one final party, a memorial celebration of his life. The staff is lovely, all decked in proper attire and catered to the guests' needs to the nth degree. Also, Patrice is a gem; she was so kind and compassionate to give me the strength to endure that difficult day. Thank you, Kennedi and Patrice, and please thank the entire staff. You did a fantastic job! I would highly recommend Joseph Gawler's as the optimal venue that will guarantee your loved ones receive the memorials they deserve. Shahab
Response: Shahab, thank you for honoring Kennedi and Patrice with such a thoughtful message. We aim to show compassion and kindness every step of the way and it truly fulfills us to be able to make this difficult time easier in any way possible. It was an honor to be of service throughout your loved one's arrangements and I hope you will reach out whenever you need anything more. -Joshua Carter, Executive Director

Hackett's Funeral Chapeling: what do users think?

Geanett Giron: Had the most wonderful experience with Hackett’s Funeral Chapel. The entire team showed us so much respect and compassion. Our loved one was treated with so much respect and had a dignified funeral. In particular, Ms. Michelle was extremely kind and accommodating. It was not business, it felt so personal. Thank you so much Ms. Michelle, we are so heartbroken, but you offered kind words and gestures especially to his daughter. May God bless you and your entire staff!

Raveen H: Mr. Hackett and his team did an amazing job. From that very first phone call he explained to me how things were going to be. He was always kind and patient answering questions. My brother looked so nice, calm and peaceful, just like he was sleeping. The obituaries came out beautifully and he even recommended a great musician. I would without a doubt recommend Hackett funeral home for your loved one.

Abigail Barnes: I was referred to Hackett's Funeral Chapel by someone at the Salvation Army who personally used this funeral home. From the moment I called Mr. Hackett, I felt at ease. He was very straightforward but sympathetic at the same time. He kept the line of communication open and was always available when I had any questions. I am more than 100% satisfied with the services Hackett's Funeral Chapel provided for my daddy and to our family. Thank you Mr. Hackett and to your staff for making us feel comfortable and at ease during this difficult time for our family. May God bless you!!!

V. DeMilo: Mr. Hackett assisted me from the beginning to the end of the process. I decided on his funeral home based on key factors; including but not limited to the way he answered the phone on the initial call, the professionalism of his language when explaining services offered, and how to get the most for my money. Mr. Hackett also explained the legalities in burials versus cremations, which was important, because I had never arranged a funeral before, and I was doing this from out-of-state and traveling back and forth to DC. He also went above and beyond expectations in trying to get my loved one's body released to me since I was not the immediate legal next of kin in the hierarchy of family relations. I sensed he really cared about my situation, and will always appreciate this. I would recommend him to anyone who finds themselves with the unfortunate need to bury a loved one.

Cynthia Barnes: Outstanding service!

kisha kinney: Grace Murray Funeral Home provided exceptional services for our family. They were very loving, caring and attentive to our needs throughout the funeral planning process. While there was sadness for our loss, the comfort provided helped my family a great deal. I truly appreciate the services provided from beginning to the end. Truly thankful.

Chammy Tales: So from the very first beginning of me losing my mom Ms. Grace was heaven sent. She was patient, kind, understanding and very empathetic. My family and I will always and forever appreciate the great work you done with my mom. Your staff was professional and the funeral setup was really nice. Thank you and your team for helping me and my family bury my mom. She really would have appreciated it. This was my first and hardest burial and you made it extremely special. Thank you so very much!

Sabrina Stewart: Your Funeral Home was utilized for a service that I just attended. The person that passed looked absolutely beautiful. I was impressed by the level of your work. She looked so natural that it really appeared as if she were asleep. The funeral service was of superior taste and professionalism. I had not heard of your company before then, but after attending this service I will definitely contact your business when the need arises.
Response: We appreciate your kind words, Sabrina. It is our aim to treat every client with dignified, compassionate service.

Rosslyn M: Grace Murray Funeral Home, provided exceptional service in my time of need when my mother got her transfer to the other side. I never worked with a funeral home so understanding and honest. They are the only funeral home I have seen that puts their prices online. Most places wont give you a price, even over the phone. That just shows how honest they are. They aren't in the business of lying and swindling people, like some other homes are. They are the only home I found with perfect 5 stars, and now I as mines! Because they truly deserve 5.0 stars, because they were a true blessing in my time of need! May God bless them richly as they have done for me and my family!
Response: Hi Rosslyn! Your family was an absolute joy to work with! I rave about how intelligent you alls children were all the time! We sincerely appreciate you for entrusting your mother in our care. Peace be with you.

Tiffany Jenkins: Grace Murray Funeral Home was very professional and accommodating when we buried my aunt. My aunt looked so beautiful and peaceful at her homegoing celebration. Grace Murray eased our mind and made us feel comfortable during the whole process. We are extremely thankful for everything she did for us during this difficult time.

Mcfly Studios: Great Communication....Helped me through every step of the way and Worked with my Budget 👍🏾

Latausha Howse: Truly appalling my real stars would have been negative 0. Place was extremely small, feces on the toilet seat, no toilet paper & cold water to wash your hands with.
Response: Hi Latausha, this does sound awful and it’s unfortunate you had this experience but we believe you have the wrong funeral home as we have never worked with you. Peace be with you.

Smurfette: Murray Funeral have good prices and they do good work and they are very. Nice

Ashley Lyles: I have used them in the past and they were great. But this most recent time with the passing of my grandmother, they were so difficult and not Mr. Robinson but one of the ladies were rude and not willing to work with us or answer our questions. And also. Its has taken them 3 weeks so far to produce death certificates which means we cannot pay for the funeral, cannot obtain life insurance, pay out for various things, or move forward at all. I'm very disappointed especially since they have been so good in the past but now they seem to have forgotten that they offer funeral services for people in grief not free ice cream on Tuesday...
Response: We apologize if we fell short of your expectations however due to the sensitive nature of each individual case we would like for you reach out to us via our customer relations department. So we can resolve any pending issues. Praying for you and family Respectively RobinsonFH

Mike Cola: Mrs. Precious Robinson-Baker and her team were professional, helpful and wonderful during a most difficult time for my family. Stepping in when we were at a loss on what to do or say and providing the caring and thoughtfulness you would expect during such a difficult time. Thank you all
Response: Thank you for Choosing Robinson Funeral Home at your time of need. Keeping your family in our prayers 🙏🏽RFH

Tisa Wike: EXCELLENT SERVICE, VERY PERSONABLE. always available, walked use thru step by step. There is nobody better in the city better, they make you feel very at home and comfortable at a time when you are grieving the most. I highly recommend Robinson and will continue to use and recommend them.
Response: thank you for letting us serve you and your family Ms. Wike God Bless.

yee haw: great first date location!!! the aesthetics were lovely and the meat was delicious!!!
Response: (-:

Donovan Turner: I know the family and love how they conduct their business taking care of someone’s loved one

Hunt Funeral Home: what do users think?

sonya talley: The utmost respect! My family has been doing business with Mr Hunt for years. I highly recommend their services. Mr Hunt gives quality and professional Ethics to the public. He's on time, and loves what he does. So many people complimented my mother's celebration of life service. I gave his business cards and thanks. Excellent service 👏👍🏼👌😀

Firstclassladyi Queen: The services we received were decent. However, I paid for three death certificates for my deceased son and never received them. They basically stole the money. Mr. Agee lied and told me he would get them to me but never did. My texts or calls were not returned. They should really be ashamed of how they treat families in mourning. It’s been almost FOUR years and they still won’t respond to me. If I could give them 0 stars I certainly would!

Earline Clark-Ackles: If I could give 0 stars I would! my father service was DISRESPECTFUL!!!! His remains was not properly preserved and he smelled rotten and had maggots coming from his nose at THE FUNERAL while we all were grieving!!! their solution to that was to spray my father with some type of cologne and wipe his nose in front of everybody. I have reported them to the Board of Funeral directors in dc but have yet to receive a call back from them about my complaint! save yourself the heartache and go with a more respectful funeral home...........!!

s bree: Basic Services The preparation of the deceased was professional. The employees did a good job in having the deceased presentable. The interior and exterior of the building could definitely use some updating and renovation. Everything thing just looks old and tired.

Joie A: I went for my cousin's memorial service. If I could put down a negative number I would. It was the most unprofessional, unorganized and simply disrespectful service I have ever attended. I am involved in funeral services and was disgusted by the way things were ran and highly dissatisfied for my family. I would NEVER recommend this place for anyone I know or ever come in contact with. It needs to be shut down...period point blank.

Taylor's Funeral Home: what do users think?

Linda Williams: I’m truly amazed by the great professionalism of Taylor Funeral Home! They took excellent care of us during our time of need. My aunt was beautiful, the flowers set the tone, the programs were customized to fit her personality, and the owner and his traffic control unit got us to the cemetery safely. We were able to get a little bit of footage of the celebration of life. My family and I are eternally grateful!

Sineta Robertson: They provide quality compassionate service to families. I would not use any other place. Prices are fair.

Jacqueline Maxfield: Taylor Funeral Home did an outstanding job with my cousin she looked beautiful. They were very compassionate and sympathetic to our family. Outstanding services, professional care of my loved one and she looked exactly like she was sleep. To GOD be all the Glory, Honor and Praise in JESUS CHRIST Name, Ament.

Marliss Amiea: We can’t thank The Ronald Taylor II funeral home enough. Burying a loved one during the COVID-19 pandemic came with its challenges, however working with them was seem less. They were attentive to our needs and the customer service was fantastic. Our family felt very well taken care of as all of our request were met and everything was handled with care and quality service. They also did a fantastic job with my father as there wasn’t an ounce of sickness in his likeness. Thank you for your attention to detail and for your excellent customer service during our time of need.

Brittany Hall, M.D.: In the passing of our father, the Taylor Funeral Home staff acted as if they were a part of our family. Mr. Taylor had compassion, kindness, and took out time to guide us through the whole process. We were not harassed about money and I can honestly say this was a family effort. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts and I would highly recommend them.

Gloria Wells: The Taylor Funeral Home had great professionalism, class, and dignity while handling my husband’s service. They laid him to rest honorably. He was a veteran and an upstanding man, who deserved the presidential service he received. They provided a flower car and black funeral escort detail to Arlington Cemetery.

Shatema S Hill: With such a remarkable task to bring peace for my beloved Father, I was de stress, customer services, follow up, visit to my home to answer every question that came to mind, everything was perfect. Henry S Washington & Sons: what do users think?

Tonya Ford: Henry S. Washington and Sons prepared my father and my husband in 2003 for burial. Because of their great attention to detail and extraordinary customer care. I am now making arrangements for my own funeral to be handled by Henry S. Washington and Sons. My loved ones looked exactly how they looked when their were alive. They also looked exactly how the Bible describes in 1Thessalonians 4:13, 14; they have simply fallen asleep and are waiting for Jesus to come. Thank you so much. Your customer service is greatly appreciated.

Johnson & Jenkins: what do users think?

Annette Ivey: Thank you Johnson and Jenkins. Ms. Jenkins is a blessing and wonderful. We were treated with dignity and respect. The Johnson and Jenkins team did an absolute great job ensuring that all our needs were taken of. I appreciate you all. At a time when families are already dealing with the pain and sorrow of a love one passing. Johnson and Jenkins makes that time a lot easier to deal with. God Bless Ms. Jenkins and her team. The Spells, Woodland-Ivey family Amen.

Tyshea Burrows: I want to say thanks so much Lavonna and the entire Johnson and Jenkins staff. Throughout the entire process from the first day we spoke was very comforting. Everything was professional, resourceful, flexible and understanding. I’m so happy and proud to rate my experience with Lavonna Jenkins especially. An amazing amazing person and truly a blessing.
Response: We are honored you choose us to help you and your family during this time. Our continue prayers are with you and please let us know if we can do anything else.

Alice Fields: I want to thank The Johnson & Jenkins Staff for a job well done! You did an excellent job with our loved one and we cannot express enough thanks to you. This one really hit home for us and we didn't know where to begin. I want to personally thank Ms. Jenkins for her kind words and guidance, as well as Mr. Murray and Mr. Boone for their support during our time of bereavement. I also was amazed at how we were able to get through Downtown D.C. with ease with a professional funeral traffic safety patrol.

Francine Smith: Words cannot express how grateful my family and I are to Miss Belva Jenkins and the Johnson and Jenkins Funeral Home! Our beloved family matriarch went home to be with the Lord and we did not know how to start, or plan anything. She took out her own time to guide us through the process. On the day of services, everything was just so beautiful: from our beloved grandmother, the great loving caring compassionate staff, to the memorial blanket, custom programs, the flowers, and she even provided professional funeral escorts to get us safely and efficiently to the cemetery! All I can say is thank you! I am so grateful to the Johnson and Jenkins Funeral Home and Miss Belva Jenkins.

Thia Davis: The entire staff were so kind and helpful. You can tell that unfortunately, they have a lot of business. They always apologized if they couldn't return calls immediately. Super supportive and attentive.

Dresia Vaughn: Recently, my life time good loyal faithful protective super hero friend from teenage years passed away Oct 5th. Johnson & Jenkins did an excellent job preparing him for viewing. He looked so much younger and peaceful. Thx you for a wonderful job done Jenkins.

PRINCESS JADA: This is a HORRIBLE Funeral Home. My son funeral was held at this dump, one of the Employees was very unprofessional, they did not allow the Pallbearers to walk my son out and place him into the hearse. I do not recommend this place to anyone. The Guy didn’t take his time for the family to have a final glance at my son before he quickly wrapped him up and closed the casket. And even at the end of the service, all of the Pallbearers walked up to help assist and the Guy responded, “no, we’ll take care of the body, y’all can just go to your vehicles.” What a nice way to make a family feel somewhat at ease during a loss, Please avoid this place, they don’t deserve not 1 star.
Response: I do apologize for your experience. As there is no excuse for this, our company is no longer allowed to process your loved one through the front of our building because of DOT. It has been communicated that where we have practiced the ceremonial processing to the hearse, we are no longer allowed to conveniently park in front of our building. We try our best to make sure that everyone's experience is as smooth as it can possibly be during this difficult time. So, I personally apologize that the rule was not communicated to you. We are trying to come up with a better solutions to honor this tradition. If you are the next of kin of the deceased, and are willing to contact me directly @ (202) 882-8800, I will be more than willing to discuss this further with you. Sincerely, Ms. Belva J. Jenkins Owner/Operator of Johnson & Jenkins Funeral Home

Brad Bailey: Doesn't pay her vendors. We got the run around on three sizable invoices for memorial keepsakes that we sent within 24 hours but Belva chose to not pay. New Memorials Direct is owed a sizable amount from Johnson & Jenkins Funeral Home, Inc.
Response: Please return the $ you stole and take this off here. Please & thank you!

Donovan Turner: I went to a funeral in 2016 the mortician asked me to take my loved one out of the hearse and he took them into the sanctuary and had the paper towels and cottons balls on their face still! The funeral procession was terrible and everything
Response: Mr. Turner, we apologize for your experience. We generally ask immediate families for pallbearers for assistance into the church, if there are steps. We often are told that other members of the family appointed by the next of kin arranging the services will help. On location, when we are preparing for the public service, we generally ask the family or those who helped us in, to step out as we make final touches to the deceased. However, some families insist on staying in the chapel as we prepare. We do assure our families the utmost professionalism by putting protective cloths in place to ensure your loved one and the casket look as pristine as possible for the service. This includes protecting the makeup applied. This is standard practice for all quality funeral homes. However, because we are not aware specifically of the name of your loved one, we can’t fully comment on your experience. However you can reach out to us directly if there is any further concern.

Ophelia Crawford: My family and I would like to thank you for your professionalism and compassion! You have truly become a part of our family. God bless you, The Crawford Family

Bianchi Funeral Service: what do users think?

TANYA RHAMES: I have been using Bianchi Funeral Services 1998.Lynn Armstrong Patterson and her team do such amazing work.I recently worked with her she prepared my husband. She has so much compassionunderstanding and patience when she’s working with you. Awesome work!!!!

Kim: I have to say that Bianchi Funeral Service is the best Ms Lynn Patterson is so very attentive. She handled my Ma Pat like a queen that she was. I called around to different Funeral Services and Bianchi was reasonably priced. I would like to say the details and all the extras that they provided was excellent. Her assistant Ms Octavia was also a great. They went above and beyond if I could give more stars I would. Have A Blessed Day Highly recommended

John Sowell: I would like to thank Bianchi Funeral Service for the professional they showed my family during service's for my wife. They did a great job and made sure that everything was done with dignity. I cannot express the joy in me that I chose you all to properly put my wife to rest. Thank you so much!!!

Dee Dee: Excellent job on my Grandma. Thank you Tyra and Octavia for all you have done to make this easy . Tyra you went above and beyond and thank your son aswell. I saw a picture of the blanket with my grandma on it and that is different and special.

Rosalyn Irving: I would like to thank Octavia Waugh and Tatum Jamison for the exemplary job they did with assisting me and my brother Sterling Metz with the memorial service for his deceased wife Ulrike Metz on September 9, 2017. Our needs and questions were met beyond our expectations. Every detail was handled professionally with style, class, compassion and understanding. We will definitely give our support and recommendations to friends and family for years to come. Sincerely, Rosalyn Irving and Sterling B. Metz

Lori Fowler: This Funeral home is the worse ever, especially the Funeral Director Ms. Octavia Waugh. I buried my dad this year and I was hung up on, lied to and disrespected by Ms Waugh. It all started, when I told Mr. Ronald Owens-part owner, that I did not think my dad was legally married to the lady and what does the funeral home do in situations like this? Now, this is were it goes down hill and people start to take things personal. Mr. Owens said, “why do you think that” and I said, “why do you believe that”. Then he said, we would check the marriage certificate in situations like that. I told him did you see a marriage certificate? He said no but they been together for so long. Wow, so no legal documentation. Well, I need to see a marriage certificate. So of course Mr. Owens passed it along to Ms Waugh. Then, I called Ms Waugh and she told me that it was public record and they were married in DC, yelling and then hung up. Come to find out it is public record but they were never married in DC. So, Ms Waugh lied and then tried to cover it up when she actually received the marriage certificate from Virginia. Ms Waugh called me back to act like, she done her job but what she fail to realize the marriage certificate was null and void, due to my Dad was still legally married to my mom. So, now the Funeral home was aware and had legal documentation that I was next of kin in one day and they still put the lady, who was not legally married to my dad on the Death Certificate. This Funeral home is very unprofessional and they go by word of mouth and if your a friend of theirs. They need to run a professional business.

Camia Roberson (MeeMee): Very professional! Took very good care of my mother's body. Very we'll done pre and post services and amenities provided by the company. Will not take advantage of grieving and vulnerable customers.

Patricia Akinyombo: Vera poor service on my cousin. Run far from this place. They subcontract out their work and bear no responsibility for the poor service done by their contractors. Do not use this place

Cory B. Flowers: Love the blanket and customer service

Ernest DC: This should be your last choice in funeral home selectionCompletely unprofessional

Snead Funeral Home & Cremation: what do users think?

Zaraider Stiney: Both Mr. Snead, Jr. and Sr. treated my granddad’s body will dignity and grace. From our first call until the final cremation was more then the words I have. They expressed their dedication by doing all of the paperwork and keeping me updated during the process. They were kind and patient. This was an emotional time for me and my first time ever dealing with funeral arrangements. All I can say, is they are the best!

ASK Dee Fair: I have attempted to locate some property that Larry Snead was responsible for however he refused to give me a location of my property. He referred me to his attorney. I personally do not recommend using any service that Larry Snead Senior is involved with based on the loss of my property. Larry Snead is the Devil dressed as a SHEEP..BEWARE..

Amanda McDowell: Would not recommend. Horrible customer service. The owner told me "We are busy and good bye!"

Pame Jonhson: Very kind people who try to help you and understand the pain the families are going through

Stewart Funeral Home, Inc.: what do users think?

Saundra Nelson: They went out of their way to honor every request that I made. A special Thank You to the Owner, Ms. Stewart, Mr. Brian Harris, Mr. Borden, and LaTonya Sims. Everything was A-1. The Lord truly used this Funeral Home to bring some peace to a horrific situation. I HIGHLY recommend this Business to handle the final arrangements of your loved one. God's best to them all! The Nelson/Thomas Families 4.23.22

Joanne Tillery: I had the pleasure of speaking with Mrs. Helen Jackson this morning, i called to get assistance with connecting to streaming my coworkers fathers service. Mrs. Helen was patient with me because I was frazzled because I was late getting connected. I just wanted to let her know how much I appreciate her because if it wasn't for her i would have missed out on a wonderful service. i wasn't able to attend but i was able to stream and that really made me feel better under the circumstances. THANKS MRS. HELEN YOU ARE THE BOMB.COM and Stewart Funeral Home needs to know they have a diamond in the ruff. Have an awesome day on purpose !!
Response: Thank you for acknowledging Ms. Helen. We think she is pretty special too! I shared your post and you really made her day.

Brooke Day: Mr. Stewart’s legacy lives on. His staff handled my family and I with tact and care! They exceeded all my expectations. They actually showed me that they cared. I am so pleased. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because their projector system is completely outdated and in desperate need of an upgrade. Outside of that, everything else was perfect. Thank you for making this trying time a little easier with your warmth and care!

Arlena Ferrandiz-Myers: To Staff and Director, It is with deep gratitude that I write this thank you review to Steward Funeral Home. My family lost beloved stepfather family patriarch on September 8, 2019. We have never experienced a family death and funeral before in the United States. We are originally from Cuba where funeral customs are different. Steward Funeral Home is in my father and mother’s neighborhood, and I decided to use its services mostly for the geographic convenience. Little did I know that this place would be such a boon in a time of great sorrow. My stepfather was always fortunate in finding good places and good people. So, it was quite fitting and as though he had chosen this place himself for his viewing and funeral. The initial interview with the funeral director was scheduled expeditiously. It was candid and straightforward, but at the same time courteous and caring. Interestingly enough, we found out that the Director had been in Cuba recently and had loved the experience. We made a quick, informed decision based on the information provided. We decided to do embalming and services with cremation. We chose flowers and rented a casket for the event. The staff was very attentive to our needs through every step of the process. My family is blended and multigenerational. The interview to sign the contract was done by my mother and me. However, my 18-year-old niece had come to see her grandfather’s body. She was on her way to see him before his condition changed and never made it. Therefore, she felt she needed to see him for her own peace of mind. The funeral director was contacted immediately and ask if she could see the body that day. It was a busy time for the funeral home, but the Director made sure to schedule an appointment later the same day to satisfy the request. We also had made an appointment to view the body before everyone else arrived. My stepfather was prepared superbly in his cowboy hat, his long sleeve shirt, black jacket, leather belt and Western Bolo tie. The embalming was done so well that it appeared almost as if he was still alive. His skin looked great and he was carefully positioned in the casket with a spectacular flower arrangement. I do not even recall selecting such a beautiful floral arrangement. On the day of the funeral we received a very courteous call from Mr. Bowman to give us the parking details. Mr. Bowman and the staff assisted us in any possible way they could. I really want to thank him for his respect to our culture, for the attentiveness to our needs, and his caring and professional demeanor. He was absolutely a great host and a God-send on this day that provided succor to our anguish and anxiety. Thanks to him we had a beautiful bilingual service in English and Spanish for the ceremony. It was just how my stepfather would have wanted. We read his bio, had a ceremonial biblical speech, and closed the program with his family and friends saying their last goodbyes. My family and myself really want to thank Steward Funeral Home for being patient, professional and caring; and for providing excellent services in their facilitation of the funeral process. Gracias!
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and heartfelt review. We appreciate your family giving us the opportunity to serve you. If there is anything we can do to assist you further, please don't hesitate to let us know. Again....Thank you so much!!

Malkia Ra: I assisted a family member with the final arrangements of a loved one, Stewart was the funeral home of choice based on cost and location. Initial meeting and point of contact was with Ms. Washington, she was a pleasure to work with. Our dissatisfaction with the arrangements came later, on the day of the service. (1.) The family car pickup was late; pickup location was within a 5-minute drive from the funeral home, yet when the arrival time came and went, we had to call to inquire about the status. (2.) We noticed multiple flaws on top of the $3k+ casket we purchased; one of the flaws in particular was a significantly-deep scribble/scrape on top. (3.) The floral spray we purchased to cover the casket wasn't what we received, it was significantly smaller. (4.) Lastly, the minister we hired through Stewart spoke for 3 minutes; she didn't bother to read the obituary/memorial that she asked for prior to the service. Needless to say this experience was very disappointing. These concerns were brought up to SFH, and it was at this time we realized how unorganized and disjointed the business is run. Our initial point of contact, Ms. Washington, was no-longer in the fold. We now had to address our concerns with others within the business. There's no cohesiveness; once the contract is signed, multiple people are involved in different areas of the services, and no one is aware of what the other is doing. For example, when picking up the death certificates, we were one-short. The person who handed-off the certificates to us could not explain. After multiple questions asked to multiple people, we learned one of the employees thought she remembered sending one of the certificates in the mail... she THOUGHT she did, she wasn't sure. It would've made sense to put the certificate back with the others. There is no cross-checking or quality-control within this business. (Luckily it did arrive in the mail later). I also want to mention the person who's contracted with Stewart to prepare the memorial booklets, Ms. Wellington, was less than a pleasure to work with. This was a good learning experience for me and a reminder that you certainly get what you pay for.
Response: First, I would like to extend our apologies that you feel our service didn't meet your expectations. The entire staff works diligently to give every family we serve exemplary service so it is disheartening to hear when a family feels we did not. In our operation, different individuals handle different aspects of the business and yes there are many different departments that work together for the outcome of a beautiful service. There are many aspects of conducting a funeral service, and it can't be handled by one person, so yes we do have different departments who handle different things. If a family pays for funeral expenses with insurance, most insurance companies require a death certificate to process a claim. If we find out later it was not needed, we will return the certificate to the family. We always give families the options of using there own vendors for example flowers, programs and clergy but our suggestions are available if you choose. You are always able to use a preferred company of your choice. A clergy always wants to see a program to know the outline of a service also if we need to get to the cemetery or stay on schedule they will make adjustments. Last, Mrs. Wellington didn't just leave the fold but passed unexpectedly. Her passing shocked us and left us devastated while we also tried to fill in the gap with families she was serving. I do hope that I addressed all of your concerns.

Seth Feenstra: If I could I would give this Funeral home no stars at all! Horrible and unprofessional customer service from Ms. Ford. Her rude tone on the phone and the way she represented herself for the Funeral Home is wrong. Her sympathy and empathy for family members looking for information on their loved ones doesn't show. If she was my employee her behind would of been fired long long ago. She told me "don't go dictating how I am going to do my job and when I am talking don't interrupt me" when in fact I WAS NOT DOING that in any way, shape, or form. I was simply asking her "where is your sympathy and understanding. I am trying to understand why it is going to take you 2 weeks to help answer a simple question on my loved one. Yes it was from 2012, 9 years ago, and you have to go back into your "old system" and dig his records up" but to shout at me and tell me "Look lady you'll get answers when we are ready" is uncalled for. I HIGHLY and I can't stress how HIGHLY I recommend taking a look at another funeral home that will give you the kindness and respect we all need. KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY, CHOOSE ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME WHOM OFFERS KINDNESS AND RESPECT OF YOUR LOVED ONES.
Response: It is most disturbing that you took the time to write such a disparaging review, while conveniently leaving out the facts. Your loved one passed almost 15 years ago, you were not the person who made the arrangements but we still wanted to help you and help give you closure. We first had to confirm who you were and obtain permission to assist you and we did. You also failed to mention how unkind you were to different members of the staff and how they still remained professional with you. You were not patient to wait while we obtained what you requested that was close to 15 years old and even when we explained how detailed and in depth the process was. We have reached out to inform you that we filled your request, you have not reached back out to us. It has also been a month and you still have not retrieved your request. We will just patiently wait on you to get back with us. It was always our desire and intention to give you the closure you requested.

Timothy Wilson: Stewart Funeral handled the arrangements for my cousin on December 3, 2021. The service was beautiful. Stewart's staff serviced my family well.

Sherice Bryant: My Mother's service was today and I was greeted and then told... The person in charge of your service is at lunch at the exact time the service was about to start. Then their projector service wasn't compatible with the flash drive I provided so my photos had to be restarted through out the entire service. It seemed as if the employees were just there and not really providing their undivided attention to our needs!!

Slim DC4LIFE: Stewart funeral home really cares and that’s what matters when you grieving. I can’t thank the entire staff enough for all the love and support starting with the first phone call to the first appointment even the drivers was super patient and supportive. Special Thanks to our funeral home angel 👼 Ms.Washington her love and expertise kept us worried free it made all the difference in the world. Thank you so much Stewart for being a 5 star establishment God Bless🙏🏽

eveunice johnson: Exceptional! Exemplary! These are only a few words I use to describe the abundance of compassion and empathy received from the Stewart Funeral Home staff, of Washington D.C. during this unimaginable and painstaking loss of my granddaughter. From inception to interment, our family, full of grief and sorrow, were treated with none other than the upmost respect. Honorable mentions are as follows: Mr. Bowman, Funeral Director, who's mannerism, demeanor and respect for his craft in customer satisfaction, reigns Supreme! If an award could be handed to him, for his outstanding professionalism and commitment to help others, it would be Emmy award worthy, and I'd be honored to present it to him. This must be a God fearing man because he clearly works for the Lord. Mrs. Rush-Ahmad, compassionate, caring and at the top of her game in organizing and managing affairs of such sensitive nature, never missed a beat. She deserves to be recognized not just from my family, but to the community as a whole because in times like these, people with traits like hers are both needed and necessary. Her assistant, Ms. D. Washington was of great assistance and reassurance, acting in Mrs. Rush Ahmad's absence as well. Mrs. Jackson, believed to have been the elder woman, who went above and beyond, granting my grieving daughter the simple request, of talking to my departed granddaughter while she sleeps peacefully, acting as a surrogate on my daughter's behalf. In 2 words, "Simply Amazing". Finally, the nice elder gentleman (no name given) who delivered, without hesitation, to get a lock of hair and footprints from our beloved angel, so we could have these tangible momentums eternally. I would be remissed, not recognizing and honoring these true service oriented individuals, as they stand in their purpose as servants. My hopes and prayers is that they are appreciated and valued as great people who deserve greatness in return. Sincerely, Mbu, Contee, and Cobbs family
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words. We work really hard to serve all of our families, please know your acknowledgements have been shared with everyone mentioned.

Dunn & Sons Funeral Services: what do users think?

Tiffany Wylie: When God Says be obedient you must. Obedience it’s better than sacrifice. The Dunn Family is a very powerful family who is sent from God. Mr. William Dunn your family served our family “Harrison-family” with incredible service. On time people who truly cares. I was nervous to use the Dunn’s because we had a family set funeral home but when I met the director I felt comfortable and felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Our new family funeral is Dunn and we will always be loyal to you guys. Thank you ms Dunn. The facility is beautiful and very clean Makes you feel right at home. The staff beautiful inside and out. The body looked amazing like he was sleeping. Prices were reasonable. Dunn takes funeral services to another level we love the Dunn’s

Kayla Brown: The doors were locked and we had to wait for the chapel to be opened after the start time of the viewing/service. The chapel was still being set up during the viewing. There was never anyone at the door passing out obituaries really. The employees are free to smoke right in front of building. There was no stand to place the address book so it was tossed in the window seal halfway through the viewing. The “Pastor” was late and very lax. I had to constantly call and ask for updates. Was told to come on the day of 15 minutes before the service to view the body and make changes. I had to pretty much demand to see my mother the day before the funeral to make sure there weren’t any changes that needed to be made. There was no one working the zoom meet which cause problems because it kept timing out in addition to the phone dying. I have been blatantly lied to on numerous occasions. I’ve never received copies or receipts for services. I didn’t even need to verify my relationship to the deceased. Very traumatic experience wouldn’t recommend them to do a service for a dead dog.
Response: Hi, Ms. Brown Thank you for your review. Our key mission is to serve families with impeccable service at all times. We would love to know who your loved one was because our firm doesn’t recognize your name at the moment. This breaks our hearts to know you feel this way. Answers to some of your concerns 1) Our doors are always open for guest! We will never start a service unless the LEGAL next of kin is present or have permission to allow other guest in the chapel area. 2) The family always gives direct instructions to the director. Our firm doesn’t have any ushers during covid. So the family is responsible for the distribution of obituaries keepsakes. Our greeting staff will always provide information on the obituaries location so guest can obtain a precious keepsake. 3) Our employees/ guest can smoke appropriate smoking tobacco or cigars in our smoking sections which is located outside on left hand side of the building. 4) the register book stand is located at the entrance of the chapel. Maybe a guest put it in the incorrect spot after signing the book. 5) families are always allowed to spend time with their loved one the day before service to approve your loved one appearance. The only time you will not be able to view your loved one is if your clothing was late or you missed your 1 hour 30 min time widow slot time. 5) we offer professional live streaming from a professional company. So zoom probably was from a guest that attended the service. 6) we can not give out legal documents to anyone but the LEGAL next of kin. 6) verification comes from the District of Columbia medical or hospital. 7) The family also picks the pastor of their choice. On behalf of our entire staff we apologize for experience you’ve experienced with you. We apologize and we value your feedback. Thank you for sharing your experience. If you have any others questions or concerns please give our office a call and we will assist you. We love you and truly hope we can fix this situation.

Zaria Tyler: I guess you can say you get what you pay for. This service is extremely unprofessional, I’m all for a welcoming business where the owner is involved and you get those friend/family vibes. But at the end of the day this is a business transaction & if I pay you I expect you to complete the agreed upon service in it’s entirety. I had a funeral service on 01/06/22 for my deceased mother. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks for them to have her body reviewed before they could cremate her. On 01/21/22 I called and got confirmation from someone by the name of Brianna that she had already been cremated and to send another email confirming my address (since I live out of state) & she’d be shipped immediately. I waited until the 02/06/22 before sending another email in regards to this situation and 02/07/23 before calling again because I never received any response. On 02/07/22 via phone conversation I was told they would ship out the cremains on 02/09/22 and that they could not do it any sooner. On the 9th I called inquiring about the tracking number and was told she was already shipped. They took down my email saying they’ll email the confirmation which I found suspect. After constant questioning and insisting that the confirmation be given over the phone is only when she switched and said they were waiting on FedEx to pick it up. 02/10/22 I called and talked with Ms.Dunn in regards to the same thing and was told “we can’t drop everything and resolve the problem in the same day”. I expressed how displeased I was about being blatantly lied to, feeling robbed of something that is irreplaceable and was told my feelings were void. 02/11/22 and I still haven’t received any confirmation that mother’s cremains were shipped. Thinking that because (me as a customer) I’m expressing that fact that I’ve been deceived in many ways & I’m extremely unhappy that the cremains would indeed be shipped expeditiously but it STILL hasn’t. This leads me to believe that they may have “misplaced” my mother’s cremains because I don’t see any reason to hold onto someone’s remains. This is the first time I’ve had to make funeral arrangements which is hard alone but using these services has been extremely traumatic.

Kim Simms: Gm, I want to Thank the Family of Dunn & Sons Funeral Home on an Outstanding Job that they did for my Family. The Family of Sarah Jackson -Thomas, was more than Satisfied with the Service that was Provided. I recommend anyone & their Family that is in need of Service to look them up. The Hospitality was great. (Family) is what it was. I love the whole staff. May God continue to bless them greatly.
Response: Our Family wants to thank your family for entrusting our firm in making your loved one final wishes come true, we love you all and are always here for you guys! -The Dunn’s

Tony Thomas: Thank You thank you, thank You!!! We cannot express our gratitude. We love ya , and thank you again for making sure “Home Going “ of our Mother, Grandma Ella was a success 🙏🏾🙏🏾💐.

William Perkins: Everything was beautiful at Anthony Thomas funeral. This funeral home served and gave their best. This funeral home gives nothing but five star service. From presentation- to the body everything was excellent. Thanks Dunn Staff

Quanda Shuler: Two beautiful services. My aunt was buried March 2017 and she did not wear any make up and they were very respectful of that and she looked very natural and sleep. My great uncle funeral was in November and it was a military service with full honors. They funeral was at their venue small and perfect for our private affair. They worked with us and Quantico to make sure both the funeral and internment was done on the same day. I would definitely recommend them.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words

Stephanie M: Experienced Dunn & Sons recently, and they gave a feeling of ppl that I've known personally. During times of grieving/mourning, you want someone to make you feel comfortable and not like it's only a business deal.

Jay Vandervort: Dunn and son call and said we can come to view my dad be for the funeral the next day we get there and they had a 93 yr old man in my father's clothing with my brother who passed away shirt folded next to him and the pillow with all are pictures on it and told us it was my dad after we gave them a picture of my dad they got his body mix up with someone else this was so deviating so they gave a free family car thinking it make up for that mistake they made but they really got it twisted

Sarah Wilson: The Dunn Funeral Home staff gives professionalism from the beginning to the end. This funeral home served our family with White glove service. From the time I called my family was a little unorganized and upset with one another and the director said listen guys let's pray because the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy and from that day we stuck together like glue. This funeral home was sent from heaven. Affordable prices, Beautiful ambiance, clean building, and made our grandmother look amazing. My grandmother looked natural, smelled great, and our family just had a piece of mind because we were extremely nervous because this was our first time but I promise it will not be our last time thanks. Dunn family

McGuire Funeral Services, Inc.: what do users think?

Lance Coleman: Excellent Service During A Tough Time. They made every moment of the service feel special. They also helped with many aspects of estate planning. Went above and beyond, pulling up information decades old to assist me in a process during a tough time. I definitely recommend.

Melisa Johnson: USE SOMEONE ELSE -so you don't have to add watching the funeral home to the list of things to do during a tragic time. We used McQuire Funeral Home for my mothers cremation. We had a memorial service elsewhere, so this was to be the only service provided. They offered a 3rd party for the programs and to place the obituary ad in the Washington Post. When we got the funeral program I immediately noticed McQuire had added their logo to the program w/out asking. It just showed up in the 1st round shared w/ us by the printer. I thought that was tacky but was able to have that removed. I should have taken this as a sign. We sent them the final copy of the obituary and the almost $700 for the fee to the Washington Post. However, this time we were not able to see/approve the obit before it was printed. I can't put into words the disgust I felt when I saw the funeral home had added "Funeral services at McQuire" to the final obituary. Besides the fact that we weren't asked if this was ok, it wasn't true. It would have been misleading for anyone looking for information about the memorial. This is greedy and shameful. They offered my father $16 as compensation for the pain their greed caused during the darkest time of our lives and for something that can't be fixed. To further confirm the integrity of this place, I'd like to add that we considered using them for limo services but their fee of $675 for a 9 seat car was over $200 more then the other estimates received. The last thing you want to be worried about when you lose a love one is being taken advantage of the funeral home. Try whichever other one that pops up in this screen instead. Your chances of not adding pain on top of pain will be better.

Martha Teate: There are not enough words to properly express how amazing, comforting, and supportive the service was that we received at McGuire Funeral home. The level of professionalism, decorum, understanding and intuitive patience that they exhibited was outstanding. Mrs. Hinton, Mr. Robinson - we thank you from the very depths of our hearts for your end-to-end assistance during this very difficult time in our lives.

Sheryl Chapman: Professional, courteous. Responsive Made the transition of my mother bearable.

Joseph Holloway: Good place for the Home going...

Darcia Scates: They provide prompt and efficient service during your time of need.

Charles Turner: Very professional

Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home: what do users think?

sharon shapiro: Great place that bends over backwards to help in a difficult time. Especially great is Betsy Herold - she's conscientious, detail oriented, doesn't forget or miss a thing, makes the impossible requests happen. Driver, Mike, is also a kind soul. Prices fair, and with this kind of service - this is the place you should go if you need these services.

Howard Gorin: Before I retired, I had many opportunities to officiate at funerals arranged by Joyce Torchinsky and her staff. Without exception I've found her to be professional, personable and compassionate and ready to provide anything that I needed to better serve the mourners.

Morris Funerals and Cremation Services, L.L.C: what do users think?

Courtney Byrd: The entire staff at Morris Funerals & cremation services were amazing. I entrusted the care of my mother to them. As soon as I reached out and started the paperwork, they had my mom within 2 hours. The owner was so loving, and made sure that mother was beautiful and I was pleased. The all African American team showed so much love and sympathy during my time. And the cost was very affordable. Morris Funerals & cremation are amazing and I am forever grateful to them for helping me cope with the loss of my mother.

Elaina Allen: Morris Funeral and Cremation Services provided exceptional services to my family and I during the the passing of my uncle, back in December. While my uncle’s sudden death was hard for my family, Ms Morris, and her staff made everything so much easier for us while making his cremation arrangements. Every question was answered in a timely manner, and we were treated like family the day of my uncle’s cremation. For that, I’ll forever be grateful of their services.

karissa williams: I had the best experience with Morris Funerals and Cremation Services. The staff was professional, caring, fun, and made this difficult time a breeze. They showed compassion and was there for all of our needs. They communicated with us through the entire process. And did I mention my grandpa looked GOOD. He looked just like himself which was important and they nailed it. I would definitely recommend them.

Tekoa washington: I was asked what could they have done differently to make things better, these guys made my life so easy; from start to the end of the services I felt they where thinking about what I needed to see and not worry about. I want to thank you guys for making my family very happy, my husband looked so good; you presented him in such a way that even his parents stated he look like his old self, they were very pleased. You guys are awesome. Not that I'm ever hoping to use your services, however if I have to, you are on speed dial.

Kris Juncker: Working with Morris Funerals and Cremation to preplan details. I had faced pushback from other area services on the fact that my loved one would like to donate organs to a specific, regional, scientific study. Marche and Aneka have committed to reach out to the hospital group in order to set this up in the quick 24 hr time frame required. It's such a relief that my loved one can have their remains treated with the respect that they deserve. Honestly, I feel really lucky that I kept calling places to find a business that can respect my loved one's requests. So glad I kept going and found Morris. Thank you.

TERENCE KING: Morris Funerals and Cremation Services provided my Family 5 star service for my Mom services. They were compassionate and comforting doing this entire process. My family and I were so happy with there services and competing rates.🙏🙏🙏
Response: Thank you for your support. Continued prayers for you and your family. It was an honor to serve your family during your time of need.

Tonya Borden: On yesterday we held my auntie funeral at Morris funeral home. I was running very late due to traffic and they would be closing her casket at 6:00 pm, So to my shock they left the casket open the whole time during the funeral. Ms. Morris Is a God sent very very professionally and her team is the best. They allowed me to sit with them and we all talked like we had been old friends, my auntie look so good she looked like her self not to much make- up at all. They stream the funeral on YouTube for family and friends that couldn’t make it. The funeral home was very clean and smelled good. Ms. Morris Made me and my other family feel like she was part of the family. I personally recommend this funeral home because of the compassion and professionalism they give to the clients.
Response: I'm so humble by your kind words god bless you. 🙌🏾

Shanice M: Great staff! Excellent service! Reasonable prices. What stood out the most was after the funeral, they still were very responsive and went above and beyond. Thank you so much!

Erica Marat: Wonderful, empathetic staff, sensitive to our needs and helping in every step of the process. Always easy to reach, night and day. We are glad we chose them, grateful for their kind support.

alvoid hamilton: I can’t say enough about the professionalism, attention to detail, and how above and beyond Ms. Morris went when it came to the services for my brother. From the minute I sat down with her I could tell she was one of the few that really had compassion for myself and my family. To see the reaction on my mother’s face when she saw my brother looking as if he was sleep because of the wonderful job Ms Morris had done gave her the closure she needed. In our darkness she was our light. If you want someone that truly cares look no further. Her work speaks for itself.
Response: Thank you, for your feedback. We are honored and appreciate your kind words.
