Precious Memories Funeral Home,LLC: what do users think?
Lency Garcia
Lency Garcia: My father passed away and I honestly had no idea on where to start or even how things work when someone passes away. Precious memories are super patient. They are very kind. Dealing with funeral homes is not an easy thing to deal with especially when you are hurting very bad due to someone’s death. But they do make the process easier for you, they are definitely very patient. You can not go wrong with them. Huge shout out to Mr. Payne and his team. You guys are all great! Wonderful job! And thank you for being so patient and kind. They will honestly do anything you ask them to do. Honestly they are great!

Annette Ivey: Thank you Johnson and Jenkins. Ms. Jenkins is a blessing and wonderful. We were treated with dignity and respect. The Johnson and Jenkins team did an absolute great job ensuring that all our needs were taken of. I appreciate you all. At a time when families are already dealing with the pain and sorrow of a love one passing. Johnson and Jenkins makes that time a lot easier to deal with. God Bless Ms. Jenkins and her team. Tyshea Burrows: I want to say thanks so much Lavonna and the entire Johnson and Jenkins staff. Throughout the entire process from the first day we spoke was very comforting. Everything was professional, resourceful, flexible and understanding. I’m so happy and proud to rate my experience with Lavonna Jenkins especially. An amazing amazing person and truly a blessing.

Francine Smith
Francine Smith: Words cannot express how grateful my family and I are to Miss Belva Jenkins and the Johnson and Jenkins Funeral Home! Our beloved family matriarch went home to be with the Lord and we did not know how to start, or plan anything. She took out her own time to guide us through the process. On the day of services, everything was just so beautiful: from our beloved grandmother, the great loving caring compassionate staff, to the memorial blanket, custom programs, the flowers, and she even provided professional funeral escorts to get us safely and efficiently to the cemetery! All I can say is thank you! I am so grateful to the Johnson and Jenkins Funeral Home and Miss Belva Jenkins.
Dresia Vaughn
Dresia Vaughn: Recently, my life time good loyal faithful protective super hero friend from teenage years passed away Oct 5th. Johnson & Jenkins did an excellent job preparing him for viewing. He looked so much younger and peaceful. Thx you for a wonderful job done Jenkins.
PRINCESS JADA
PRINCESS JADA: This is a HORRIBLE Funeral Home. My son funeral was held at this dump, one of the Employees was very unprofessional, they did not allow the Pallbearers to walk my son out and place him into the hearse. I do not recommend this place to anyone. The Guy didn’t take his time for the family to have a final glance at my son before he quickly wrapped him up and closed the casket. And even at the end of the service, all of the Pallbearers walked up to help assist and the Guy responded, “no, we’ll take care of the body, y’all can just go to your vehicles.” What a nice way to make a family feel somewhat at ease during a loss, Please avoid this place, they don’t deserve not 1 star.
Response: I do apologize for your experience. As there is no excuse for this, our company is no longer allowed to process your loved one through the front of our building because of DOT. It has been communicated that where we have practiced the ceremonial processing to the hearse, we are no longer allowed to conveniently park in front of our building. We try our best to make sure that everyone's experience is as smooth as it can possibly be during this difficult time. So, I personally apologize that the rule was not communicated to you. We are trying to come up with a better solutions to honor this tradition. If you are the next of kin of the deceased, and are willing to contact me directly @ (202) 882-8800, I will be more than willing to discuss this further with you. Sincerely, Ms. Belva J. Jenkins Owner/Operator of Johnson & Jenkins Funeral Home
Donovan Turner
Donovan Turner: I went to a funeral in 2016 the mortician asked me to take my loved one out of the hearse and he took them into the sanctuary and had the paper towels and cottons balls on their face still! The funeral procession was terrible and everything
Response: Mr. Turner, we apologize for your experience. We generally ask immediate families for pallbearers for assistance into the church, if there are steps. We often are told that other members of the family appointed by the next of kin arranging the services will help. On location, when we are preparing for the public service, we generally ask the family or those who helped us in, to step out as we make final touches to the deceased. However, some families insist on staying in the chapel as we prepare. We do assure our families the utmost professionalism by putting protective cloths in place to ensure your loved one and the casket look as pristine as possible for the service. This includes protecting the makeup applied. This is standard practice for all quality funeral homes. However, because we are not aware specifically of the name of your loved one, we can’t fully comment on your experience. However you can reach out to us directly if there is any further concern.
Ophelia Crawford
Ophelia Crawford: My family and I would like to thank you for your professionalism and compassion! You have truly become a part of our family. God bless you, The Crawford Family

TANYA RHAMES
TANYA RHAMES: I have been using Bianchi Funeral Services 1998.Lynn Armstrong Patterson and her team do such amazing work.I recently worked with her she prepared my husband. She has so much compassionunderstanding and patience when she’s working with you. Awesome work!!!!
Kim
Kim: I have to say that Bianchi Funeral Service is the best Ms Lynn Patterson is so very attentive. She handled my Ma Pat like a queen that she was. I called around to different Funeral Services and Bianchi was reasonably priced. I would like to say the details and all the extras that they provided was excellent. Her assistant Ms Octavia was also a great. They went above and beyond if I could give more stars I would. Have A Blessed Day Highly recommended
Dee Dee
Dee Dee: Excellent job on my Grandma. Thank you Tyra and Octavia for all you have done to make this easy . Tyra you went above and beyond and thank your son aswell. I saw a picture of the blanket with my grandma on it and that is different and special.
Rosalyn Irving
Rosalyn Irving: I would like to thank Octavia Waugh and Tatum Jamison for the exemplary job they did with assisting me and my brother Sterling Metz with the memorial service for his deceased wife Ulrike Metz on September 9, 2017. Our needs and questions were met beyond our expectations. Every detail was handled professionally with style, class, compassion and understanding. We will definitely give our support and recommendations to friends and family for years to come. Sincerely, Rosalyn Irving and Sterling B. Metz
Lori Fowler
Lori Fowler: This Funeral home is the worse ever, especially the Funeral Director Ms. Octavia Waugh. I buried my dad this year and I was hung up on, lied to and disrespected by Ms Waugh. It all started, when I told Mr. Ronald Owens-part owner, that I did not think my dad was legally married to the lady and what does the funeral home do in situations like this? Now, this is were it goes down hill and people start to take things personal. Mr. Owens said, “why do you think that” and I said, “why do you believe that”. Then he said, we would check the marriage certificate in situations like that. I told him did you see a marriage certificate? He said no but they been together for so long. Wow, so no legal documentation. Well, I need to see a marriage certificate. So of course Mr. Owens passed it along to Ms Waugh. Then, I called Ms Waugh and she told me that it was public record and they were married in DC, yelling and then hung up. Come to find out it is public record but they were never married in DC. So, Ms Waugh lied and then tried to cover it up when she actually received the marriage certificate from Virginia. Ms Waugh called me back to act like, she done her job but what she fail to realize the marriage certificate was null and void, due to my Dad was still legally married to my mom. So, now the Funeral home was aware and had legal documentation that I was next of kin in one day and they still put the lady, who was not legally married to my dad on the Death Certificate. This Funeral home is very unprofessional and they go by word of mouth and if your a friend of theirs. They need to run a professional business.
Patricia Akinyombo
Patricia Akinyombo: Vera poor service on my cousin. Run far from this place. They subcontract out their work and bear no responsibility for the poor service done by their contractors. Do not use this place
Cory B. Flowers
Cory B. Flowers: Love the blanket and customer service

Stewart Funeral Home, Inc.: what do users think?
Brooke Day
Brooke Day: Mr. Stewart’s legacy lives on. His staff handled my family and I with tact and care! They exceeded all my expectations. They actually showed me that they cared. I am so pleased. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because their projector system is completely outdated and in desperate need of an upgrade. Outside of that, everything else was perfect. Thank you for making this trying time a little easier with your warmth and care!
Arlena Ferrandiz-Myers
Arlena Ferrandiz-Myers: To Staff and Director, It is with deep gratitude that I write this thank you review to Steward Funeral Home. My family lost beloved stepfather family patriarch on September 8, 2019. We have never experienced a family death and funeral before in the United States. We are originally from Cuba where funeral customs are different. Steward Funeral Home is in my father and mother’s neighborhood, and I decided to use its services mostly for the geographic convenience. Little did I know that this place would be such a boon in a time of great sorrow. My stepfather was always fortunate in finding good places and good people. So, it was quite fitting and as though he had chosen this place himself for his viewing and funeral. The initial interview with the funeral director was scheduled expeditiously. It was candid and straightforward, but at the same time courteous and caring. Interestingly enough, we found out that the Director had been in Cuba recently and had loved the experience. We made a quick, informed decision based on the information provided. We decided to do embalming and services with cremation. We chose flowers and rented a casket for the event. The staff was very attentive to our needs through every step of the process. My family is blended and multigenerational. The interview to sign the contract was done by my mother and me. However, my 18-year-old niece had come to see her grandfather’s body. She was on her way to see him before his condition changed and never made it. Therefore, she felt she needed to see him for her own peace of mind. The funeral director was contacted immediately and ask if she could see the body that day. It was a busy time for the funeral home, but the Director made sure to schedule an appointment later the same day to satisfy the request. We also had made an appointment to view the body before everyone else arrived. My stepfather was prepared superbly in his cowboy hat, his long sleeve shirt, black jacket, leather belt and Western Bolo tie. The embalming was done so well that it appeared almost as if he was still alive. His skin looked great and he was carefully positioned in the casket with a spectacular flower arrangement. I do not even recall selecting such a beautiful floral arrangement. On the day of the funeral we received a very courteous call from Mr. Bowman to give us the parking details. Mr. Bowman and the staff assisted us in any possible way they could. I really want to thank him for his respect to our culture, for the attentiveness to our needs, and his caring and professional demeanor. He was absolutely a great host and a God-send on this day that provided succor to our anguish and anxiety. Thanks to him we had a beautiful bilingual service in English and Spanish for the ceremony. It was just how my stepfather would have wanted. We read his bio, had a ceremonial biblical speech, and closed the program with his family and friends saying their last goodbyes. My family and myself really want to thank Steward Funeral Home for being patient, professional and caring; and for providing excellent services in their facilitation of the funeral process. Gracias!
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and heartfelt review. We appreciate your family giving us the opportunity to serve you. If there is anything we can do to assist you further, please don't hesitate to let us know. Again....Thank you so much!!
Slim DC4LIFE
Slim DC4LIFE: Stewart funeral home really cares and that’s what matters when you grieving. Special Thanks to our funeral home angel 👼 Ms.Washington her love and expertise kept us worried free it made all the difference in the world. Thank you so much Stewart for being a 5 star establishment God Bless🙏🏽

Robert A Pumphrey Funeral Homes: what do users think?
Jon Ehrens
Jon Ehrens: I would give them 0 stars if I could. At best k would describe them as Incompetent and callus. They gave us confusing and often conflicting information and truly made the worst week of my family’s life even worse. My late father’s doctor described their treatment of him as harassment as they were pressuring him to put a cause of death on death certificate before a cause of death was known. No one involved in the process had any idea what was going on. They never reached out about anything. Finally, the lady we were dealing with yelled at my bereaved mother. Stay the hell away.
Response: Mr. Ehrens, I am sorry that this is how you have interpreted our assisting your family. You are welcome to call and speak to me or my assistant manager directly. William A. Pumphrey
Sarah Morales
Sarah Morales: The employees were kind and helpful. The place was nice. My only suggestion would be improving visibility of parking. My husband and I had to circle the place to find the parking lot.
Andrea Simhony
Andrea Simhony: Not very compassionate over here. Didn’t have a good experience
Response: Ms. Simhony, I am so sorry to see of your negative experience with us. Please contact me at our Bethesda location so that I may understand what you experienced so that I may correct it. Very truly yours, William A. Pumphrey, Vice President/General Manager
Ed Angelo
Ed Angelo: Have an employee who cleans cars and cares parking who is very rude and obscene, with people who are just looking for parking, it is a very unpleasant situation in a moment of sadness.

University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC): what do users think?
Henok D
Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!
Yesly Turcios
Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..
Danny Hirschfield
Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.
Jamilya Allen
Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.
h T
h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!
Jordan Stewart
Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.

The facility is improving and they have an excellent student center. The student body is very a diverse population. The administration staff are as friendly. as you are to them. In other words if you act a fool than expect to be treated as one. 😊
Response: We’re happy to hear about your experience. Thanks for leaving a great review!

The funeral director, Ryan McMillian, helped to make our experience as pleasant as possible. He was very professional, organized, knowledgeable, and respectful. He communicated well in all aspects of the process seeming to make everything appear seamless. He had an excellent reputation with all involved parties.
