Alexandria Fire Station 204: what do users think?

Darlene Naparstek: I have needed the Alexandria Fire Department twice since being here in VA. Once for what we thought was a sprinkler issue and then when our alarms went off saying there was CO2 present in the home. Both times the unit showed quickly, were professional, kind, helpful., on and on. Big problem, small, even if it turns out to be nothing they respect the safety first motto.

Babette Cooper: We love the Alexandria FD. They have helped us with bats, smoke coming out of random homes, accidental smoke alarm trips etc. They always handle all of our issues with a smile and great professionalism. We thank you!

Eric Edgington: We smelled gas in the basement and the men and women at this station were here within a minute and did a bang-up job finding the problem and phoning in the fix with the gas dept. Really impressive!

RCKA7926 Devout lion: 👌

Laurie Dutton: Always professional, courteous and kind. The Best!

U.S. Department of State: what do users think?

Henry Myers: Not sure the State Department lost my FOIA mail, USPS lost it, or it was stolen. Ask Barry? Seems to be DNA from a family on a jacket way to small for Barry.

Waldo Labuschagne: I am very impressed with the services of the Department of State. They helped me in a special and dignified way.

David Skvirsky: Customer service is absolutely trash. Rude and ignorant people on the phone, trying to get a hold of them for a emergency passport appointment for a family member in critical condition overseas. Fix your customer service, the way their customer service representative treated us over the phone tells me they’re uninterested to help, uninterested to provide information and an appointment. Can’t treat your taxpayers that way.

Gavin68: I went on a tour of the Diplomatic Reception Room recently. It was an overall nice experience. The reception room is very nice and has many wonderful artifacts. However, the tour ran a little dry at times. But it is a nice tour for anyone who is interested.

Marie-B CDA: Sumptuous rooms with many original furniture, paintings, and objects which were the witnesses of the US birth. The view from the balcony is very pleasant.

Eugene C: My favorite tour in DC. The 8th floor is the reception rooms for foreign heads of state. Museum pieces at every turn from the table used at the signing of the treaty of Paris to original portraits of George Washington. Reserve through your congress person.

Ed Sager: Diplomatic reception rooms is a very worthwhile visit. Amazing collection of American antiques. Beautiful place to visit.

US Fish & Wildlife Service: what do users think?

Matthew Kuo: The Fishery and hatchery division permanent staffs were great people to work with. Even as a temp employee, you can still have flexible time and gets to travel to different hatcheries and do conservation-related work. You also have opportunity to work as part of conservation team for bull trout, or work in urban stream monitoring work. The downside of the place is not many permanent positions, so if you are someone fresh out the college, this place is a great place to gain experience. They hired some pretty good people as non-permanent staff, but bad apple was able to slip through from time to time. One recent temp staff goes by the name NATHAN HELMAN was such person. On the surface, he plays lip service to make himself look like an awesome employee, but in reality he avoid doing core work as much as possible and lied about the work being done. He also have no regard for the EEO policy for the office, making racist comments and treating his fellow co-worker like an inferior. This guy brought shame on govt workers and military veterans. Keep an close eye on this guy if anyone wants to hire him.

Paras Suri: It is located behind department of Ecology.

Sean Thomas Augustine Ferro: I can’t speak for the whole facility, though was riding my bike past this location and as I passed a postal worker was heading to his car parked on the street. He smiled and wished me a great day. I exchanged a kind word in return and in that moment felt instantly uplifted. Sometimes little interactions like that can really turn around an otherwise challenging day. Feeling grateful for this local USPS branch

David david: I would like to say to all the employees of post office in general to look where they leaving the mail if is in the correct address. They left my mail in the next door or next 2 doors. Is like really? Why do they hire people that won’t pay attention to what they doing. I had my package delivered and wasn’t there at the address they might left it in the wrong address and I never get the package and all my mail aren’t delivered to my address. Can you please check the address before leaving the mail or how to fix this issue because is really annoying I’d like that issue to be fixed PLEASE!!!

Crystal Brown: Our regular mail carrier is great and the person at the window is usually nice. But God forbid if you call and speak to those in the office. Rude, rude and ruder. No manners or customer service etiquette at all.

Andrea Rodney: I have been having problems with this post office for years now my God I have never seen such a unprofessional dirty place before treat there customer as if we are there asking them to do something other than there job that they went and applied for, this behavior is unacceptable. went there to pick my packages up after my tracking information shows that they has been delivered there, gave them the numbers she went in the back just has she walked away I decide I was going to check my post office box where she and the supervisor was standing talking. she said I to him I found her mail then she asked him what was the problem, as she walk back out and tell me there was no mail and that she cannot find my mail with the tracking number, that I should call ups for them to give me there tracking number so that she can look it up

Maseh Berri: The post office attendance (the bulky elder guy) is the slowest officer I ever met, he uses upto 20 min per client, and is not flexible at all. Please if u want a quick service DO NOT COME HERE. But if u have the hold day, then is the place for u.

Katorra Christina: Adding to the 1 star ratings. I’ve never had any problems before receiving packages until recently and it’s unrelated to COVID. I believe there is either a theft problem or supreme inefficiency, both have caused me a loss of time and money. If you call don’t expect any help. Someone actually hung up on me while I was mid sentence explaining my package was never delivered even though the person said they did on two separate occasions.

David Askew: Have not received mail on the 4000 block of Kansas Ave NW in 3 days. I was notified that the package I was expecting was just delivered. What a crock of_____! The reason I know for certain that it was not delivered was the fact that I was sitging at the front door, no mail person came even close to the building. What that person probably did was stand at the mail truck and scan it as delivered. A bull____ way to run a mail route.

Preston Bays: Gave two stars because the post office employee was nice and polite. Website says this location does passports, but that is false. Brought our infant and was a complete waste of time. FYI the 900 Brentwood Road NE Post Office does, and also allows walk-ins.

US Postal Service Headquarters: what do users think?

Dr. OK: I can’t believe USPS is so bad. My package from Europe is at the Carson, CA facility since 2 weeks. I am giving the headquarter a poor review to make them aware of the situation and to point out underperforming facilities. This has to change. You are a delivery service, and the service has been paid upfront. Please do your job, and deliver packages on time. I want my package!!!

E M: They advertise an ever-increasing yearly fee for PO Box renewals, then arbitrarily charge you a higher amount if they have your credit card on file because they decided to raise the price AGAIN a few days later and there’s no way to fix that or get a refund for the difference, unless you completely cancel your PO Box. Anywhere else, and this would be labeled a scam or bait and switch and can be reported to the BBB. With rising package thefts and porch pirates to deal with elsewhere, this is one of a few so-called “secure” options. If you continue with this option, get used to them losing and damaging packages and mail, and/or putting them in the wrong box for a couple hundred dollars a year. If you’re lucky, the retailer you purchase from will resend or refund, but many will not, given the packages are often marked as “delivered” regardless of whether they made it to your box or not. Absolute mess and shambles. The current head of USPS is insistent on rushing further down the bottomless pit of mediocrity rather than improving their practices and services. It’s too bad because there are a lot of decent, hard-working people on both sides (customers and staff) caught in the middle of this.

Jervorius Riley: Hello!!! The USPS has currently progressed to the standards of the other carriers; now they have a 1800 Number that will hang up in your face, if your option’s doesn’t fit the standard of their choice of needs. I called to speak to a person, concerning my PO BOX because it’s late; I’m a Veteran that receives prescriptions through the mail as well as regular mail. I had to Google the number and call directly. It’s a shame, the UNITED States Postal Service has divided the people from the right to speak to an agent, only under their circumstances. In other words, they are short staffed and created an automated phone service that keeps employees from answering the phones. I feel deep sorrow for US citizens who cannot drive directly to the post office to handle their discrepancies over the phone. Make your own choice, but it’s a sad day in the US when the DOGGONE Post Office don’t have time to answer a quick phone call. Thank you, Mr. Lovejoy!!! SOME ADVICE: Hire more people and you wouldn’t need an automatic phone service that hangs up on disable Veterans.

Shes Geezy: I get my mail every 3-4 weeks, when I contact my local post office they cannot provide me with an explanation, and covers for the carrier. I’ve had time sensitive documents that I’ve received after deadlines and have lost a lot because I get live checks that I haven’t received in over 4 weeks. Complaints go unanswered and never resolved. Cannot get in touch with the USPS headquarters to get assistance

TRS K: WTH WITH THE NEW SURCHARGES STARTING APRIL 3??? ARE YOU UT OF YOUR MIND?THESE PEOPLE ARE GREEDY BUSTARDS. DONT USE THEIR SERVICE. GOING TO SHIP FEDEX AND UPS FROM NOW ON> HOPE YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS FOR BEING SUCH J ERKS. CEO S UCKS

Osvaldo Alpizar: what it P.O.S company and is only because they have immunity hope one day this company goes to hell with all the immunity and there shady way of doing bushiness F to This Company hope one day all the mayor web selling site like amazon and eBay band this P.O.S company that day everyone will win long live to UPS FEDEX heck even DHL and all others except this P.O.S

Оксана Дьяконова: Waiting for package from Europe, more then week ago it departed NY facility and had to arrive 8 days ago. No updates, no help. Don’t know what to do. Opened case 2 times and still nothing

Asma Akhter: If there is any horrible service in USA that will be USPS!!!! Shame on you guys! Just because you guys work for government that’s why you guys don’t value customers!!! You guys work for nothing!! Just to get our tax money for free! Everyone has same situation with you guys!! You guys don’t give the service a customer wants, so why you guys here for? Get out of here! Favorite company or service way better than you guys! Stop giving us hard time! Btw I lost my package I been calling USPS & agent made case report but no one reaching me back about what investigation they did! Two times their agent creates case report still no one seem to care or sort the problem! Than again I call other agent suggesting to call consumers fair office & tell them but I’m keeping call and calling no one picking up! Than they said write a letter to usps headquarters about the lost package to see if they can do anything! Seriously what can kind of service you guys have! Why you have customers service line if you can’t solve problems. Who is responsible for package lost! It’s so disappoint usps !! Whoever CEO of usps he should shame of himself that he can’t run postal service better or professional! USPS uneducated service! They need basic education and rules & guides to follow!!

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Catania James: Since moving to D.C. in 2019, I have seen this post office go through a couple staff changes. I think it’s been a positive thing!! Today (Sat, 12/11/21) I have received the best service to date!!! There were 3 women behind the counter and they were professional, courteous, knowledgeable about the services and gave prompt service to everyone in the line. When I first entered the post office, I was a little nervous about joining the line however they had the line moving in an efficient manner. I waited about 5 minutes. they were also clear with the customers about which register took cash only and patiently assisted customers who were sending packages internationally and helped them refill out paperwork that was illegible or filled out incorrectly. I hope this post office keeps this configuration of staff!!

Shalin Nohria: The location is great, the service is awful. I literally heard the employees laughing about how they sent someone away when they could have helped. New management is definitely needed.

Jordan Bickham: I arrived at 9:10 to drop off a prepaid label package but the doors were locked. Me and other people have been waiting and watching as the people inside ignore us even though they are supposed to be open at 9. It’s now 9:30 and still nothing. Absolutely horrible USPS!

Kelly Shurtleff: The USPS is a disgrace!! It should be abolished and charged with racketeering. They charge for services that they do not provide in good faith! They now want more money and want to do less! They tell you to pay more money for Priority services (not guaranteed) and NEVER come close to delivering on time. What the @#$@# are we paying for??? they cannot be held accountable like almost every other business. You cannot sue or take any legal action!!! AND THEY ARE NOT A FEDERAL GOVT. BUSINESS!!!! how can congress allow this to happen with repercussions??? Now you cannot even file a missing mail for at least a week!! What a joke on the American public!!!! write you congressman and demand changes!!!!

Jessica Hsu: I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews, but had no choice. I was here at 1:36pm on Thursday. Clerk 12 was helpful and kind. My two other packages with pre-paid labels were scanned promptly. I had a positive experience at this location.

elijah: I didn’t get her name but the young lady working around 11am on June 17th (she was working the register to the left as you face the registers) was super helpful! I was shipping a package and she had me out in under 5 minutes. I’m in a wheelchair and she informed me that they finally fixed the handicap button for the door so I just had to hit it to get out. I don’t know about all these negative reviews but I firmly believe just be nice to folks and you’ll get the same back. So sorry I didn’t catch your name but thanks for making my experience great!

Oancea Marcela: 9:41am supposed to be already open and working, it’s about 15 people waiting for them to open the door, I can’t believe this can actually happen on a regular day looks like people here work by their own working schedule. Worst experience ever.

Gabrielle Brown: I’m giving the office five stars based off of my interaction with the case worker Ms. Panda. She treated me with dignity and was more than accommodating when it came time for me to bring in my supporting documents. The wait was extremely long and very tiring, however I’m simply appreciative of the kind words and efforts of Ms. Panda.

Lola3502: This is the most horrible office in the city. The government should be ashamed to sponsor such laziness and incompetence. The security starts fights with, threatens and attacks clients, even handicapped ones. I literally withnessed a 6foot tall security guard jump in one woman’s face, then all of them attacked her proclaiming they from SE and don’t take ppl talking smack. It takes months to process paperwork (I literally received an update to my case over six months after filing and I’m over 60). They fail to correct mistakes they make. If you call the center no one EVER answers. If you go to the center during the day, you will be waiting all day just to be seen, and not because it’s so over crowded. The workers literally sit around the front desk and don’t do much until the day is almost over and they ready to go home. Then guess what, they kick the rest of the people, many who have been there since the doors opened, out of the center and tell them they have to come back the next day and wait all over again. Then the workers literally use the excuse that they only have to see ten, I repeat 10, clients per day. So, why they hire so many then I don’t know. The city knows about this, DHS HQ on NY Ave NE knows about this, management at that center knows about this. DC government has played a vital role in kicking poor people out of this city tho, especially Bowser!

Cecilia Bautista: I was there this morning. The security and the construction people were screaming at me. They are so disrespectful. The construction people didn’t even want me to read the sign on the door. They could be a little more polite.

Kev- keepingitreal: I appreciate the staff for being helpful. But, the staff seems to be overwhelmed with so much work and understaffed. This place is in poor condition and needs to be remodeled.

Althia Harris: I had a mail hold starting December 24 thru January 3. I purchased over $100 worth of postage stamps on the USPS site on December 19. After I did not get the stamps delivered on January 4, I check the tracking on the stamps. It states the carrier delivered my package on December 24 during my postage hold. I checked my Ring Doorbell and saw that he did deliver a package on that date but came back around 2 pm on December 24 and took the package out of my mailbox. Where are my stamps. I went to the Minnesota Avenue post office today and they are closed for cleaning. How/where do you make a complaint?

Mary E Barnes: The USPS is always busy, long lines, more than five people waiting and one USPS clerk working. The floors were dirty and debris on floor and counters. New safe distance stickers were installed and they did not completely remove the old stickers.

Beverly Singleton: I received a text message that the delivery person did not have access to my delivery location. I live in a house on a corner with no gate very accessible. That message was posted at 12:02. At 12:27 the tracking information states, "Package being held at post office, this is a request by the customer." If you had no access to my location how did you get a message from me? Blatant lie and so typical of the type of service from the USPS. The person made no attempt to deliver in my location. I was in the yard gardening, would have seen the delivery vehicle.

Brenda Ramsey: So this new lazy mail lady has been dropping my mail on the ground or not closing the mailbox and allowing my mail to get wet. Instead of placing it in my mailbox and closing the box back so that the mail doesn’t get wet. Most recently I learned that she has my package scheduled from delivery to be picked up, what kind of nonsense is USPS allowing with these mail carriers. Character doesn’t exist anymore with USPS so sad

Living the life of lele Vibing: This post office lady told me I can’t get my mail curse me out cause been try get a key for a year and I have proof like then she said she thought we was vacant and sent my mail back like how can she do that which is against the law

Raine A: The mail carrier did not attempt to deliver my package as claimed. I signed up for alerts and knew my package would be delivered 9/30/20. I stayed home all day and no one ever knocked on my door. I’ve had several issues with this post office and nothing has been done.

remotivateded flyguy: I keep finding my personal mail going to another address in my same area, and they have the worst customer service.

Jen Rhodes: They are super nice! Mr. Herbert Jones and Deangelo Baucum got me out in 10 minutes and they are funny and informative. Great job y’all keep up the great work!

Jean Taylor: I received the most rudest customer service from Clerk 15, in addition to hearing her being rude to two other customers before me. Her tone with me was just as nasty for asking a question about the amount of insurance I requested. She definitely delivers the rudeness but failed to inform me of tracking number by circling on my receipt as is customary of postal clerks. Apparently Clerk 15’s priority is to deliver the nastiest and rudest customer service ever. Customers should not be bullied or made to feel intimidated by this person whose nasty attitude is definitely not an asset to the postal service. Please do better by placing people friendly clerks on the front line. Customers deserve to be treated with respect.

acacia bobik: Clerk #15 is rude and unhelpful. She was spitting sunflower seeds at the desk and making snide comments. Would not recommend wasting your time at this location. She did not offer explanation or answer questions regarding different prices for mailing a large envelope. She was more interesting in talking inappropriately about her co-workers with another co-worker

Y. WW: I had the worst experience at this postal service. I mailed a pair of Kay Jewelers earrings to my friend as wedding gift from this USPS location about 10 days ago. The package was severely damaged and the earrings were lost at delivery. Only my card was left in the broken package. I regretted I used First Class instead of Priority; otherwise, I could file an insurance claim. But now my earrings worth over $50 were just gone.

Jean Philibert: I went to the Post Office at 1215 31st Street today. What a horrible experience. The clerk was so rude! I am in shock that she is able to treat peopleso rudely and keep her job.

i b: I asked to get a letter hand-cancelled and the lady managing the counter practically yelled at me to put it into the bin where all the letters are automatically cancelled. I came just two days ago and they hand-cancelled my letter so I know they have the capability to. Kinda ridiculous. Beautiful interior and exterior physically of the building, but I wouldn’t come back if I didn’t need to. Much prefer using the one in Union Station or Watergate.

Jovan Bethel: The lady named Kara who works here is very rude. Literally all I wanted to do was mail off my phone back to T-Mobile and was in turn treated by with the utmost disrespect; making me seem as if I did not know how to mail a package! Telling me things that I already know about packaging while continuing to scorn me for what I "better do next time I come into their store or else"! And the young light-skinned lady who works there was also very rude; trying to belittle my intellect. All of this over me just dropping off some mail. NEVER AGAIN will I go there!!

R D: Three of our packages were missing in the last week. A supervisor "Smith" contacted me and she stated "we located your packed in OH.. you have to contact the USPS in OH and conduct your own investigation.". Keep in mind this is for a package USPS lost. The manager Tobley was absolutely no help and decided not to assist in this manner. Now I understand the "DEFUND THE USPS" chants lately. This location is extremely unprofessional. please read the reviews.
