Gabe Fremuth: Tiffany is simply the best. If you're considering anyone else for wedding coordination or planning, stop what you're doing and just hire Tiffany. You won't regret it. My wife and I did a lot of planning and hired Tiffany as a month/day-of coordinator, to allow us to hand off the details and just enjoy our wedding day, without worrying about logistics and vendors and all of the things. Tiffany nailed it. Before the wedding, she had questions we hadn't considered and helped us find the answers through her extensive experience. One month out, she accepted all of the contracts we had set up, and ensured everyone was in the know about the schedule she confirmed with us. She was with us for the rehearsal and had backups plans in case of weather. On the wedding day, and I don't know how she did it, she was everywhere at once. Visiting family we hadn't seen for years were commenting to us on her diligence, energy, organization, speed, positive attitude, and excellent work. Tiffany excels at what she does. There isn't a thing we would have changed about our wedding, and we have zero regrets about hiring Tiffany to manage the day. The second best thing we did for our wedding day (besides get married) was to hire Tiffany to run it smoothly. We can't thank her enough!

Elizabeth Benge: Other reviewers have very adequately covered Tiffany's truly astounding organizing and communication abilities. I want to share a few stories from my wedding that illustrate just how incredible she is! Back in July 2019, I interviewed 10 wedding planners. I sent out a survey with questions that I asked everyone to answer via Google surveys (for some reason!). Tiffany was the only planner who filled out the survey. This is to say that she is the one who understood that this was something that was important to me, so she made it important to her too. This is the quality of Tiffany’s that set her above everyone else; from the very first time we met, she worked to make my priorities her priorities. The sound system wasn't working correctly at the beginning of our ceremony, which was such bad luck- we overheard our DJ successfully test the equipment while we were getting our photos taken. It resulted in about a 10 min delay before the ceremony started- in that time interval, Tiffany got warm cider for my mom and my (now) husband's mom, while simultaneously corralling the bridal party to keep them organized and ensuring the momentum of the event didn't get lost in the delay. Everyone cheered when the mic started working again, which diffused all of the anticipatory pre-ceremony tension. Our moms talked (and are still talking!) a lot about the warm cider Tiffany got for them. When faced with the inevitable hiccups that happen during weddings, I promise you that you will want Tiffany there to deal with them. You will not be in a state to deal with it yourself, and knowing that Tiffany, someone with the knowledge, experience, professionalism and temperament to handle it, will absolutely make your day. No matter how big-hearted and generous your family is, it is difficult to get people to do the parts of the wedding that are actually work, like, for example, making the place cards that have the guest's name with their table numbers on them. It's also a big favor to ask of relatives, and it is such a relief to know that you have someone in your corner who you can really count on to get this stuff organized and done. For example, when the aforementioned place cards at my wedding didn't get done beforehand, a detail that was brought to our attention several hours before guests started arriving, Tiffany got all 120 place cards printed that day. Truly incredible!!!! Tiffany is the wedding industry's equivalent of Olivia Pope. When I asked my husband what wedding advice we would give to other couples, it would be to hire Tiffany!! It was the best decision we could have made. We are so happy with how everything turned out- we were guests at our own wedding!! We just got to enjoy the day, which is exactly what we wanted to do. I never expected a perfect wedding but that's what I got because Tiffany was there to handle it! We love her!

Janna La Barrie: My husband and I are so thankful for everything Tiffany has done for us to help us realize our dream wedding, she has been truly amazing! I don’t know what we would have done without her. She made the daunting task of planning a wedding so easy and fun. Duane Rollins: On your wedding day, the only thing you really want to focus on is your partner and the loved ones who have come out to support you. Tiffany was the perfect planner to help us do just that. Vendors were on time, everything was in place, and she helped us nail our vision. We could not have asked for a better person to help us plan, coordinate, and execute our wedding. All of our guests commented on how well the wedding ran and how she kept everything in motion (while still being pleasant to everyone). We loved our day and love our planner.

Linda Benesch: My husband and I hired Tiffany to plan our wedding, which was originally supposed to take place in August 2020. We ended up postponing twice and ultimately held the wedding in October 2021. Tiffany was there to support us every step of the way, helping us find the best vendors and handling the communication with them. She kept us calm and focused. I don't know how we would've made it through nearly two years of wedding planning, most of which was during a pandemic, without her. On the wedding day itself, Tiffany went above and beyond. She steamed my dress and did the same for all 5 of my bridesmaids, and somehow found time to make sure the groomsmen had everything they needed, too. Gracie Epler: I can’t imagine how we would have made it through wedding planning without Tiffany. We started working with Tiffany almost immediately after we got engaged, and wow that was the best decision we made. With both of us working demanding jobs, it was incredibly helpful to have her guidance and support. Whether it was picking vendors, managing the needs and expectations of my divorced parents, mailing and sending save the dates and invitations, or finalizing the minute details, Tiffany was there for us. She was always calm and never ruffled, no matter what new covid guidance came through or what new idea I came up with. And then there was the actual wedding weekend. We had 9 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, 2 ring bearers, and 3 families. She managed all of these people perfectly during the wedding weekend, helping to bring our wedding vision alive and keeping all of our wedding party members in line. And let’s be real, that wasn’t easy (especially with our rambunctious friends!). I never had to worry about a single thing that weekend, other than enjoying every moment. Emilia L: Tiffany did the planning and day-of coordination for our recent wedding and she was simply amazing. People say there are always things that go wrong at a wedding – but if they did, Tiffany must have taken care of it because from our perspective the planning and the day of the wedding were extremely relaxing, and went off without a hitch. Tiffany was extremely patient with how vague we were about everything ALL THE TIME – on the day of the wedding, we basically handed her a whole bunch of décor and a vague plan and said “have at it”- and she made our venue look spectacular. Tiffany is very detail-oriented, which is obviously great during the planning process, but it is particularly awesome on the wedding day itself – she was thinking about things that would never have crossed our minds. Having Tiffany plan and coordinate our event was without a doubt the best planning decision we made, and meant that we were able to properly enjoy not only the day itself, but the time leading up to it, with friends and family. My husband and I are old hands at getting married – we had a previous wedding in Australia which we planned (and had a friend help with coordination on the day). The Australian wedding was also amazing, but having experienced planning a wedding without Tiffany believe me when I say that what she does is absolutely priceless!

Olindi Wijesekera: Tiffany and her team were fantastic, patient, flexible and always available! Our wedding was originally planned for 2020 and had to be re-scheduled twice with a change in venue. She traveled to our wedding in Cleveland and helped find vendors in a different city and had everyone coordinated. She essentially helped plan two separate weddings, stuck with us through all the stress of planning during the pandemic and was available to any and all requests! Vinh and Alysia: Eddie and his team made our dreams come true. We got engaged in April 2020 - during COVID when everything was so uncertain. We had very specific tastes and after being together for 10 years - we knew that we wanted a wedding that really reflected who we are individually and as a couple. Eddie worked with us to achieve our industrial bohemian vision and remain within our budget. From landing us the PERFECT venue - Capital Turnaround; to a wonderful graphic designer, Max, who created a truly unique and cool invitation suite; to linking us with Spilled Milk, a catering company that merged our Cajun and Vietnamese cultures in a truly inventive way; to his quest to find us the perfect day-of coordinator in Trish — signing on with him is what made our wedding a fairytale. He helped to negotiate every contract. He made sure that our concerns were communicated and advocated on our behalf. His reputation in the industry was apparent in the respect that each of our vendors clearly had for him. He always had our backs and was honest with us. We went through a number of potential day-of-coordinators - not because of availability, but because as soon as Eddie saw that they wouldn’t be a good fit, he would immediately look for someone else. This could have been panic-inducing, but I wasn’t scared. He was always transparent with us and I trusted him. I knew if he thought a change needed to be made, it was for good reason. And Trish, who ultimately became our coordinator was perfect. She understood me immediately, came in with suggestions of ideas I didn’t even know I wanted! Her idea to mix lounge seating from the venue in as the ceremony seating truly made our wedding spectacular. I felt like I was getting married in an intimate ceremony in a living room. Seeing all of the little children piled on a giant ottoman over my husband’s shoulder is one of my best memories of that day. He helped us navigate through the overwhelming options; provided a planning tool that made everything from design, to tracking payments, to guest seating a breeze; helped to schedule all of our meetings with vendors (you would be surprised just how helpful this is - cutting down on preliminary email communications with vendors really reduces stress) and made sure that we were protected in every contract. This was particularly important when planning during the peak of COVID. We needed to be sure that if our wedding needed to be cancelled or postponed, that we wouldn’t lose out on money. He went over every proposal and contract to make sure that we were covered in case of disaster. He made us feel like we were his most important, if not his only client. After working with him for nearly 3 years - he truly feels like family. He got to know us as a couple and that definitely showed on our wedding day. If you’re looking for someone who will truly give you a personalized experience and help you to plan a wedding that truly represents who you are as a couple - work with Impact Collective. Nicole Herrmann: Eddie was fantastic to work with as our wedding coordinator. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and provided us with so much valuable guidance as we planned our big day. He was always available and very responsive to our questions and helped us work through any issues with our vendors. Our wedding day was executed seamlessly with Eddie and he was our biggest advocate and support throughout the planning process – from the first day we reached out to Impact Collective and even now post-wedding, he is still available as we close things out and tie up loose ends. Highly recommend Eddie and his team for your wedding or other event.

Taylor McCarty Hoover: We hired IMPACT Collective to assist with helping us find a rehearsal dinner space and for month-of coordination and I cannot recommend it enough. While I trust everyone at IMPACT Collective does incredible work, if you're lucky enough to be paired with Haley, you've REALLY hit the jackpot. She was an absolute rockstar when it came to anticipating my needs, executing everything to my standards without even needing to be asked, and handling the many different personalities that come with planning a wedding. As soon as I would think, "I need to remind Haley about this" or "I should ask Haley about that," I would realize almost instantly that the thing I had on my mind had already been taken care of. You can't put a price on peace of mind for your wedding day—IMPACT Collective is worth every penny. Thanks to Haley and the team, I was able to be fully present for every amazing second of my wedding day, and I can't thank them enough for that.

Marshall & Nikki: Eddie was a great wedding coordinator. He was by our side from start to beyond the finish line helping us with details big and small as we planned our wedding. He was always available to provide advice or guidance when dealing with vendors or other aspects of the wedding planning. The tools provided by Impact Collective to help plan the wedding were also incredibly valuable to keep you organized and on track towards the big day. Would highly recommend Eddie and his team for your wedding or other event planning.

Noel Domi: IMPACT Collective was the first wedding expense we made and easily one of the best. Eddie Fam and IMPACT worked their magic right off the bat and were able to negotiate down the proposals from venues. From there, we worked with Eddie and the other IMPACT associates to finalize the other wedding details. They’re well connected in DC so finding vendors was easy and we were able to finalize our vendor contracts within a few months. Eddie and his team were in constant contact with us for over a year and we scheduled a minimum of one call per month to ensure everything was timely, which it always. IMPACT was also extremely responsive and addressed our concerns at all hours of the day even for things that were not pressing. Eddie also handled all the matters in the days and weeks leading up to the wedding weekend, so we only handled minor details ourselves – which was already stressful so I couldn’t imagine having to do any more than that. The day of the wedding, he was incredibly helpful, coordinated all communications with the venue and vendors, and ensured everything ran timely and smoothly – it did. I highly recommend IMPACT for couples getting married and looking for a team that will really cater to you as a couple and work to make your wedding vision a reality.

Grant Johnson: We worked with IMPACT Collective for our wedding at Capital Turnaround. Eddie, Jana, and the whole team were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail and flexibility helped us create exactly the wedding we wanted; at the same time, we never felt like anything was being pushed on us and always felt we had creative control to pursue our vision. Besides making sure that everything was on track for the wedding, they were also all cool people that cared about us separate from anything having to do with wedding logistics. Chandler Carr: We used Evoke to plan a large wedding in downtown DC and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Jeannette, Wilson and team made the seemingly impossible task of planning a wedding during a pandemic the most stress-free and fun experience. The team was always available via text, email or phone call whenever we needed them. Our entire weekend, from arrival at the hotel to the farewell brunch, was intricately planned down to the minute and executed with precision. The vendors were some of the best in the business. It was absolutely perfect. Evoke is the most creative, hard-working and fun-loving team. Counting down the days until we work with them again!

McKay Elliott: I worked with Evoke planning my wedding (November 2021) and I could not have had a better experience. Not only are they the utmost professionals, they deftly aided me in navigating event planning during a pandemic, including a 12 month delay - during which I did not lose a single vendor originally contracted. They were able to completely see my vision and execute it, down to every tiny detail. There is nothing this team can't get done. The team, most specifically Kaitlyn, provided incredible service, unmatched hospitality and an extensive list of very talented wedding vendor partners. They were all exceptionally professional, were thoughtful when making recommendations to personalize our day (luggage tag escort cards and punny cocktail napkins), and dotted every "i" and crossed every "t." I'd recommend the EVOKE team to anyone who is looking for a creatively produced, professionally run event.

Lauren Lee Favreau: Our Queen Maestro: Stephanie Economides & Evoke Team Any event is difficult to plan. A wedding is arguably the mother of all events. There are a million decisions to make, endless and easily overlooked details, countless moving parts that all need to follow a strict timeline, and then even with everything obsessively crafted into a plan, the execution requires a composed maestro to pull off seamlessly. Our maestro was Stephanie and she was perfection. Planning From the first phone meeting, to the first in person meeting, we knew we were in exceptional hands. I knew the colors, and a general theme. I hadn’t planned out every detail and cringed at the thought of creating a vision board, I just knew what I liked and didn’t like. I needed someone to present options to evoke the overall feel of what I wanted, without overwhelming me with catalogs of vague choices. I didn’t know what I didn’t know, I’m not in the entertainment industry or network, so I needed a guide to help direct me to what I loved. Timeline Stephanie was our second wedding coordinator, but she stepped in without missing a beat a few months into the process. She quickly established a new working timeline and kept us on track. Her communication was exceptional, with a ready response to any pressing question. She kept a well paced timeline that prevented and avoided any pitfalls. Vendors Part of what you get with Stephanie is not only an amazing, creative soul, but her connections. She introduced us to her top notch vendor list that encompassed every aspect of a wedding. This access could have been a double edged sword as the exceptional list also comes with sometimes exceptional additions to the budget line. However, we had already listed our priorities and our expected budget, and Stephanie expertly guided us to smartly spending where it had the most impact. We have continued to use her vendors for post wedding life events. The Budget The budget can be a significant source of consternation, but Stephanie made it feel easy. Part of the stress with the budget is the sudden appearance of unanticipated costs or the uncertainty of fixed costs. We started out without a line by line budget, with a range dedicated to each budget. It was updated frequently and made clear exactly what to expect. Stephanie readily rolled with our selections, and fostered a comfortable, unpressured climate during these potential high stress decisions. Stress Management Another one of Stephanie’s super powers is her kind, humble approach with her brides. She was ALWAYS there and picked up on any sign of becoming overwhelmed. My phone would ring and I would hear a supportive “Hey, how are you doing…”, and it always fizzled whatever anxiety was bubbling. She makes you laugh and brings you back to the moment of the true purpose of the day - marrying and celebrating your person. The Day Of Stephanie was a ninja genius, a ninjenius. In other words, she and her exceptional team were everywhere, yet invisible. One member of the team would scout the next 2 steps, while Stephanie would anticipate the next 4 steps while expertly handling the immediate event. There was seamless communication among the Evoke team as they worked in the shadows to facilitate every nuance of the day. One of the veteran bridesmaids of 15 weddings commented that it was the most seamless wedding they had been to. This was all due to Stephanie and Evoke’s expert direction. As a bride, I was free to be perfectly present in the moment, and engaged with all of our loved ones. We really wanted the wedding to be a thank you to all our friends and family for joining us for the occasion. Stephanie went above and beyond to make that wish a reality. Even as lengthy as this review is, there are a dozen things I haven’t mentioned that I could go on and on about. If you have the fortune of having Stephanie on your team, you won’t regret it.

Without Evoke's expertise, flexibility, contacts, can do spirit, vision of the possible, positive attitude, relaxed attitude yet more than professional performance, we never would have been able to have created two entirely different experiences in two different venues. Each wedding included an entire weekend and one began with a Thursday wedding and both ended on Sunday with guest lists from 325 - 425 and the vast majority out of towners. Nothing was too much and the moving parts were massive. The attention to detail was so impressive and I tend to be very detail oriented myself and Jodi Moraru and her staff were beyond the beyond. The only reason pictures are not included is because my children asked to keep them private. Evoke made a basement of a hotel into a magical outside garden filled with exquisite flowers and a sensational gold backdrop. And they turned everything over to avoid downtime so we could party, party, party. Anyone lucky enough to use their services will be able to enjoy their own celebration with full on joy that is what one really wants at one own's celebration as Evoke thinks of things, we did not even know to know to even consider! Cannot find enough superlatives to recommend Evoke highly enough.

Winnie Hahn: As someone who had never hosted a big event, I was quite anxious about my children’s bar and bat mitzvah party. But even after the first meeting with Jeannette, I knew that I was in the perfect hands. Jeannette understood exactly how to handle a client who was detail obsessed but also needed someone else to take the reins. Many thanks to Jeannette and the entire Evoke team for translating my family's wishlist into a beautifully orchestrated event that we will never forget.

Michael Connor: We have worked with the team at Evoke and their events are always the craziest (in a great way) over the top (in a GREAT way). The team just knows how to push what is possible to throw the most amazing events that people talk about forever. Can't say enough about how amazing and how thorough they are. Meredith Stradley: Maya and her team (particularly Juliet!) were great from day one. She was so good at keeping me on schedule, thinking of the smallest details, and providing great recommendations for vendors. Three days prior to our wedding reception, there was a 98% chance of rain and thunderstorms. And, three days prior, we were informed by the venue that we could not have a tent for cocktail hour, which had been promised to us during the entire process in the event of rain. Maya handled so much back-and-forth, and long story short, Maya convinced the venue to allow us to bring in an outside tent vendor, which required Maya and her team calling 19 (not a typo!) tent vendors to find a tent available for our reception on such short notice. I was shocked she was able to pull it off, but that's what Maya does. And in the end, our reception was truly great and more perfect than we could have imagined!

Asha: When we first got in touch with Christine last year, we absolutely loved her enthusiasm! We knew we needed someone organized who knew what ‘we didn’t know’ and how to execute that. She came through so many times with unconventional ideas that aligned perfectly with our vision. We had a whirlwind of a year with a small wedding in March and planned for a big celebration in September, an unconventional welcome mehndi/sangeet and a rooftop reception; in two different locations. I really could write a 10 page essay about how helpful and amazing she was – I am so thankful for her and just the immense amount of hard work she put in to make our day as special as it was.

Lara Mitra: We had a 10/10 experience working with Christine Godsey and two members of her team, Ana and Emily. From the start, Christine was eager to step in to take things off of my plate and give us advice on key decisions that we had to make. She was extremely responsive to emails, which I greatly appreciated, especially in the last couple weeks leading up to the day. jessica mclean: We worked with Alison at Cherry Blossom Events as our month-of coordinator and I can’t recommender her highly enough. I was on the fence about hiring a planner, given that I was working with a relatively small budget and guest count (50ppl), but I keep telling people it was some of the best money we spent. In the weeks leading up to the wedding she kept us on track with decisions and payments. She also flagged things I would have totally missed (like a 1-day liquor license, insurance…) and facilitated addressing them. Her handling the communication with the vendors was a huge time and stress saver. She is very organized and I felt comfortable trusting her to take care of things. She was also really helpful to talk through the details and helped me work through my normal indecisiveness in picking out the design details. From my point of view the wedding day seemed seamless and wonderful and I know that is only because Alison and the CBE team were behind the scenes putting out fires, so we could enjoy the experience with our friends/family. And beyond all that she was a pleasure to work with and a lovely person!

Rachael: Our wedding would not have been possible with Alison as a wedding planner. I struggled with the idea of spending money on a planner, but I assure you it worth it. The ability to enjoy your own wedding and guests is the best gift of all. That is what Alison did us. She helped us plan a wedding during Covid, all while we were living in another state. Even with a down sized wedding, having Alison as our day off planner (really 6 weeks out planner) was worth every penny. We found her through our wedding venue, the National Museum of Women in the Arts; on our initial call, we were so impressed by her level of preparation, organization, and detail. However, there are very few vendors I have come across that show such professionalism, a high aptitude for details, impeccable communication skills, as well as a friendliness that makes vendors, couple, and guests feel welcome. Yosira kept me informed as the Officiant with timey communication about the flow of both the rehearsal, ceremony, subsequent events, including travel. She kept a level head in the midst of unforeseen circumstance, while making sure the couples were unaware and able to enjoy their day. I knew when I looked at her website and her work background that she was going to be super organized and I was thrilled with the service she provided. My husband and I decided that we didn’t want to wait and that a micro-wedding sounded perfect for us. When I reached out to Yosira, she was in contact with us very quickly and before we knew it, we were well on our way to planning our big (little) day. Yosira is super responsive and made everything stress free for us. The only thing I had to worry about was getting my dress and managing my ever-changing guest list. We booked the micro-package which came with fabulous venue, gorgeous decor and florals, a wonderful officiant and an amazing photographer. S Onuma, CPA: I used Yosira as a wedding coordinator for my wedding. My wedding was a small intimate wedding which I had already done the planning for. I just needed someone to help me execute the day of and to coordinate with all my vendors. I found Yosira via Instagram using the hashtag (I think - #dmvweddingdayofcoordinator or something like that). To provide some color, my wedding was scheduled for October 5th, 2019 and I started searching for a day of coordinator around middle of August 2019. I did not have the luxury of time and I really appreciated Yosira's quick response. I reached out to her using her website. I received a response from her within 24 hours and she scheduled a call to discuss within a few days. After our call, I received an invoice. So, between the day I reached out and getting an invoice was probably 5 - 7 days max. It was very efficient process, which I really appreciated. Working with Yosira was a breeze! She was amazing to work with. She was very thorough, understood my vision and executed on my vision impeccably. She has a great eye for detail. She asked really great questions and thought about things I didn't even remember / consider. She helped me with finding food and drink vendors. The wedding was perfectly time managed. All my vendors knew where to be and what time to show up. She had a very structured timeline that she shared with me and communicated to the vendors. For the service and execution she rendered, I'd have happily paid 25% more than the quote because it was such an excellent service. She went above and beyond on my expectations and I highly recommend her!

Elizabeth Hagen: Paige is a catering queen!! We loved working with her and the Purple Onion team. Paige was so easy to work with, responsive, knowledgable, and made great recommendations for our wedding day. Purple Onion was the perfect caterer for our December wedding. The food was amazing and all our guests loved it! Especially the appetizers! One of our favorite parts of our day was having appetizers and champagne ready for us immediately following our ceremony. I highly recommend the Purple Onion if you are planning a wedding or event in Northern VA!

bert cook: Our company had an open house last week and it was a tremendous success, due so largely to the amazing food and presentation delivered by Purple Onion! It was a great experience working with Chana Brissett and her team of professionals. The food was delicious and we had so many compliments on the taste and look. That's one of the reasons to choose Purple Onion--they are imaginative and creative with presentation. The catering staff that worked our event were terrific. Channa was wonderful to work with and so accommodating and helpful. We could not have had a nicer reception and are so appreciative to the staff at Purple Onion. Lisa Bryan: Thrilled with Purple Onion Catering! Paige and the team helped our company plan and execute over 400 corporate boxed lunches to multiple locations throughout DC. We wanted to share an appreciation lunch for our essential workers. The variety of foods along with the tastiness of the event made it a huge success! Allison Butler: I would definitely recommend Purple Onion! We used them for our wedding and were really impressed. I worked with Margaret to plan a reception for 130 guests. She was really professional, responsive and easy to work with. We were able to customize the menu to our taste and to accommodate all of the dietary preferences of our guest. They have great menus with fresh, delicious food and lots of variety. The food turned out great - the guests all enjoyed their meals but most importantly, the service and all of the staff were awesome!

Hope and Bill Hope and Bill: Purple Onion Catered my birthday party and provided the linens and tables. Their attention to detail; creativity with the menu, and overall professionalism at the party was amazing! Margaret, my event planner took such good care of everything! I had a very busy schedule as a surgical resident when planning my wedding out of state, and they did everything they could to accommodate me! Our guests said that the food was the best wedding food they'd ever had as well! Paige takes all your preferences in food very seriously, and when we said no cilantro there wasn't a speck anywhere ;) They were also so flexible with the changes to our wedding date as we had to reschedule it THREE times due to COVID-19- and there were no extra or hidden fees due! Rachel Xiao: We had an extremely positive experience with Brooke and the Purple Onion team for our wedding this month. Throughout the process Brooke was patient, helpful, and friendly, building a menu, updating the menu (several times...), and planning out the day-of schedule. We were so happy with the support setting up the reception area and the tables looked beautiful. The servers couldn't have been kinder and made sure my husband and I had some food throughout the event. Finally, the food was excellent! They made a custom menu item for us that turned out well, and everything from the chicken entree to the vegan potato cakes received compliments from our guests. Would highly recommend Purple Onion!

Kristen Fagley: We rented The Capital Turnaround for our wedding and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a unique and memorable venue. Eddie and the team at IMPACT Collective are true event pros who understand how to manage all details to ensure a smooth production. They worked with us to handle challenges with COVID procedures and mandates required by the D.C. government. They provided the peace of mind we needed to feel completely at ease and excited for our big day!

Austin Graff: Locals call this historic blue building in Navy Yard the “Blue Castle.” It’s a quirky looking building with a rich story. In the 19th century, the building was a car barn for one of the busiest trolley lines in Washington, D.C. Since then, it’s been many things. Recently, National Community Church restored the building and turned it into an impressive music venue, event space, community space. My family visited for the first time for their Christmas Village event for the neighborhood complete with santa photo ops, train rides, a hot cocoa and cider bar and more. It’s one example of free events for the community. The space itself is beautifully restored maintaining its industrial feel. The ceilings are high and brick exposed. There are multiple venue rooms, a spacious lobby and a play area for kids with a rock climbing wall. If you have a chance to go to one of their community events, make it a priority.

Madeline Tucker: We held a welcome party for our wedding guests at Capital Turnaround the night before our wedding. It was an amazing experience and our guests loved it! The space itself is really cool and set with beautiful furniture, so it requires very little extra decoration. Eddie and the Impact Collective team made our party run so smoothly. Also, using their preferred vendors made it so easy on us. It was the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend!

Carter Leach: I saw Kings Kaleidoscope here May 28th 2022. The venue is AWESOME. The air temperature was super comfortable, friendly staff, and the live mixing was probably the best I have ever heard. Will definitely be back.

Noel Domi: I had my wedding welcome party at the Capital Turnaround. From the get-go, the venue had a list of vendors that it regularly works with, so we didn’t have to do much on that front. They were also very flexible with drop-off/set up and pickup. The venue itself is very spacious - had about 110 guests and there was so much space to move around, and we didn't even use up all the space. Once it was time to end the event, we were able to make an announcement and instruct everyone to leave rather than abruptly asking everyone to leave the minute the event ended. The on-site team worked with us leading up to the event and ensured that everything ran smoothly. The space also comes with several couches, tables, and other lounge furniture. Our guests loved the space and the modern feel. Capital Turnaround is a great place for any event and I highly recommend having any part of your wedding weekend here!

Deniece Laurent-Mantey: The capital turnaround and the impact team are great! They were extremely flexible and accommodating, especially because we hosted our event during the surge of the pandemic! They made things easy and less stressful. Beautiful venue, modern and exciting.

Cale Jr: Saw my first show there last night (Altin Gun) and was very impressed with this venue. The relatively steep incline on the floor and different levels meant sight lines were great. Chairs are comfy with drink holders and are more spacious than Lincoln/Lisner/Warner. Sound was excellent. Staff was efficient and nice.

Junipa Suslu: Great venue! There are nice lounge space, a decent amount of bathrooms and friendly staff. But the stage needs some help. The lighting for the musicians was set up so they only shine behind them and several times the lead musicians face couldn’t even be seen. Sometimes the light was full white / not easy on the eyes. Then there’s the sound. While the instruments were audible and perfect volume for the venue, the vocals were turned down, not distinguishable, so the harmony of sound was lost. For these reasons I’m taking one star off. The sound needed some improvement and focus. While I enjoyed many aspects of the venue, this is a pretty important one to improve upon. I’d definitely come back though.

Grant Johnson: We couldn't have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding. The modern yet industrial feel is just what we were looking for and we never encountered another venue that was comparable. The space is absolutely incredible and more recent additions to the space open up great opportunities for things like cocktail hour. The in-house decor and furnishings (in addition to the AV system) go a long way as well--we didn't feel like we needed to get too much more in order to create the ambiance we were looking for. On top of that, every member of the team and all the vendors were a pleasure to work with. Besides making sure that everything was on track for the wedding, they were all cool people that cared about us separate from anything having to do with wedding logistics. We received so many positive comments from our guests about the space and the whole operation there. I can't recommend Capital Turnaround highly enough!

Michaela: Beautiful inconspicuous venue for any event. They do a great job turning an auditorium into an engaging space for a wedding. The open hall has plenty of space for tables and a dance floor. There was beautiful use of uplighting that made this place magical. Plenty of little nooks to explore and an amazing bathroom mirror for selfies. :-)

Maureen: INCREDIBLE!!! We didn't know much about how Wedding Coordinators worked, but we knew we were going to need help the month and day of ... especially in the wake of a major house reno at the time of our wedding. Kristi and her team were AMAZING!!! From day one, she was making recommendations on aspects of a wedding and vendor relationships we never could've even thought of ... but they made our day run so smoothly. The day of, Kristi and her team completely turned around our venue and made it look gorgeous ... and they did it in about an hour (the venue has pretty unique time limits). Then during execution of the night, she was there every step of the way - making sure we hit our timelines, getting the guests in the right places, etc. EVERYONE said how much fun this wedding was and I know it was all because of Kristi and the Glow team!!!

Christine Thompson: Kristi and her assistant Shelby were amazingly helpful and on top of things during our entire wedding weekend. After reading lots of reviews and considering our options with Day of Coordinators, I'm so happy we went with Glow Weddings! There were many transitions on our wedding day from hotel block, to church, to venue and a very large number of other vendors to manage. Glow Weddings was on top of everything with the itineraries that they helped us create and checking in with all the different groups to make sure everyone was on time! I also had a large amount of personal items and decorations and they expertly arranged them throughout our wedding venue for us. So happy we booked with them and would highly recommend!!

Amanda B: My husband and I clicked immediately with Kristi when we first met with her. We hired her for 6-weeks before the wedding and day of coordination. We had a very nontraditional wedding in my parents backyard, so it was a big job. Kristi did an amazing job staying on top of the details and helping make sure we thought through all of the necessary details. She also did a walk through and helped with blueprinting of the site. Kristi went the extra mile during our rehearsal and the day of our wedding to make sure things went smoothly. Unfortunately, Kristi was coordinating a different wedding the day of our wedding, and thus she had another coordinator there for the day of. We felt because this coordinator was not as involved in the various discussions predating the wedding and our wedding was so nontraditional, she was not very prepared to coordinate the day of. However, I think Kristi herself would have knocked it out of the park and that the secondary coordinator would have been perfect for a more traditional event. That being said, GLOWs role at our wedding was essential and we really appreciate all of the help they provided!

Emily Northe: Kristi and her team did an amazing job at our wedding. We hired her as a month-end coordinator, and Kristi was very detail oriented, kept a detailed timeline (and ensured we followed it) and was able to wrangle a loud wedding party to ensure the day went on without a hitch. She did an amazing job setting up our decorations in exactly the way I imagined. I would highly recommend!

Carole Marcus: I worked with Kristi as my coordinator for my daughter’s wedding. Kristi was very organized and professional during the whole process which started the month prior to my daughter’s wedding. She kept us focused and alerted us to some details that never would have occurred to us yet proved to be important. I highly recommend Glow weddings and events!

Jessica Stieger: Y'all Kristi Hartig is a GEM. At some point during the final planning stages I started telling people I might marry her instead, she was just that great. Hands down the best thing we did was hire Kristi. All of our vendors were incredible on their own but I would have been a hot mess and this thing would not have gone even slightly as well as it did without Kristi pulling it all together. We booked her for 6 week out coordination services not really understanding the vendor coordination stuff, we mostly figured it would be nice to have 2 more weeks of help but oh my goodness I cannot imagine having done the vendor coordination without her know-how. Kristi is a detail-oriented dream and she is 0% stressful. She is calm, confident, and has excellent instincts. She was willing to facilitate literally any ridiculous idea I came up with and without even a hint of judgment, and she did a HUGE amount the morning of the wedding. I will also just say that she was the best bang-for-our-buck of any of our vendors. Kristi was the REASON our wedding was perfect and beautiful and enjoyable. Everyone should hire her.

Nicole Hobby: Hello, I had contracted early March to have Briana owner of Glow Events to host a Rock Star birthday party for my daughter's 9th birthday on April 5, 2020. Because of COVID-19 and Governor's Stay at Home and ban on gatherings of 10 or more I had to cancel this party. Briana and Glow Events refused to refund the full $100 deposit. Stating via email " I have to also protect my business and livelihood." You chose if you want to hire Briana for your kid's birthday with this position. It isn't about her customers or adhering to force majeure situations, It is about her livelihood.
