The Children's Art Studio: what do users think?

Ernest Fischer: My daughter has been in the toddler class for over a year now and has really enjoyed it. She has done a huge number of projects and my wife and I have loved seeing what’s new each week. I think the instructor does a great job of planning and organizing.

Joelle Ziemian: My daughter attended a one-day class and it was disappointing, given the high cost ($95 for 5 hours). The instructors were very young - and although the kids did a lot of activities, it was not serious; more like crafts than art. Some of the attendees were really badly behaved and completely uninterested. This is probably for children closer to 5 or 6 than 8 or 9.

Mary Galeti: Our daughter loved the classes and we loved the art projects that came home. Nicole was a wonderful teacher!

Anna Banana Arts and Crafts: what do users think?

Melissa Nitti: My 2.5 year old and I both love and look forward to weekly art class at Anna Banana. Her light-filled, cozy studio is a delight and her projects are thoughtful, creative and age-appropriate. Miss Anne teaches art but also gently instills soft skills like listening, tidying up, independence etc. She’s also taken a thoughtful approach to Covid precautions - we felt safe and comfortable. Can’t say enough good things about our experience - thank you, Miss Anne!

Quinn Dang: I would give Anna Banana Arts and Crafts 10 stars if I could! Anne is a gifted instructor and creates incredible art lessons each week. I’m amazed with each class how creative the themes are — one time we learned about Alexander Calder and stabiles and the two year olds made impressive stabiles that looked like real works of art. It’s the activity that my daughter looks forward to the most each week. One of the best classes for toddlers and a real gem in the city.

Bronwyn Dalton Clark: My 6 year old was enrolled for one semester and the experience was delightful. She came home with art that was so impressive and fun that several pieces are framed and around the house now. Anne, the teacher, has such a joyful and creative approach to teaching, children are immediately comfortable, engaged and entertained by the experience. Highly recommend!!

Samira Sabulis: Well organized, fun and creative.

Loushnikova Ekaterina: We had a wonderful painting class this Saturday and we are going to go for felting class to do wool painting, water coloring and to have intellectual discussion during a session. I is perfect for weekend to spend time with your friends doing art projects and to have some drinks. I recommend to call in advance to figure out available time

Eugene G: This review is for the Germantown location. This school is a great school for learning and practicing the Russian language as well as math, also with an excellent art program. The teachers are very kind and knowledgeable. It’s competitively priced and I highly recommend.

NYSA | New York School of Arts: what do users think?

Jey Kim: My kindergartener loved going to this school! I could tell how much his creativity was expanding after each visit. My son had so much fun and had an amazing experience in camp. I can tell from his artwork and the stories he shared when I’d pick him up that he had a blast and how much his creativity enhanced. He was always excited to go to art school to see his teachers and new friends and create something new. I especially appreciated the guidelines the teachers shared, but still encouraging unique ideas and creativity that each child possesses. Seeing him share his happiness made us abundantly certain that sending him here was the right choice and I’d recommend to anyone to at least try out a class.

Phuong Ly: My daughter found NYSA by lucky chance after having bad experience with another studio. NYSA has been a blessing for her college application process. She started her portfolio path just after starting at NYSA and that was towards the summer of her Junior year. NYSA as a whole unit is amazing;teachers, administrators and background teams work day and night to make your goal a reality. The experience to me feels like a college setting. The guidance and encouragement my daughter received at NYSA built her confidence. She been accepted to the schools she applied. Her experience from NYSA will be with her at whichever school she ends up. Many thanks to NYSA, she could never have done it without you.

Zoe Gordiyenko: I have been a student at NYSA for longer than I can remember and I am so grateful for the creative and professional environment that the staff create for all their students to reach their goals. The portfolio program is exceptional in preparing high school students for the colleges of their choice while building connections and life skills. Students have the freedom to choose their concentrations and the directors, teachers, and guest instructors push them to work their hardest. I am so thankful for all of my experiences at NYSA, I never would have worked this hard without them and in the end it all payed off! If any high school student is looking for a studio to build and expand their artistic skills/knowledge, NYSA is the first and best place I would recommend!

Swati Shah: My daughter absolutely loves NYSA classes (sculpture, painting and drawing and sewing). We recently had her 8th birthday party at NYSA and they did an amazing job throwing her the best sewing party ever!! All of her friends enjoyed the project and were thrilled with the beautifully decorated party room. Highly recommend NYSA for a fun, stress-free birthday party!

Kristen Anstrom: My 5 year old daughter just did Spring Break camp there and loved it. She was really engaged, came home every day so excited about all the artwork she got to create. They even made puppets and did a puppet show. The camp was run very efficiently and I felt totally safe leaving her there for the half day. We will definitely be doing more classes and camps with NYSA.

GUELAGUETZA VAZQUEZ ORTIZ: We live close by to the school but have never take any classes here, I got a recommendation from a friend and it was really a pleasure for my kid to be in their Sprig Camp. The school is just great and the teachers are very professional and nice with the kids. The art that my kid did was great, she was introduced to several techniques, like sculpting, printing, acrylic, watercolor and they even made puppets!!! Highly recommended!!!

Sitar Arts Center: what do users think?

LEYDI JOHANNA MENDEZ SALINAS: There is no clear communication between the Sitar Staff towards the families, I registered my children on March 29 for the summer camp and informed them that due to religion their father does not authorize the vaccine against covid, after a few minutes the response from them was that YES they would accept the children but with a note written by the pediatrician. I did everything they asked me, I paid on time and after more than a month they called me and told me that they will NOT accept my children and was wrong in the communication because they have not been vaccinated, in this place they DISCRIMINATE children and families who think differently from the other people, the Director only thought that giving me back the money would solve everything, my children were already excited to start the camp but Sitar did not care about any of this and removed them from the camp.

Hamza Khan: An amazing space with the potential to better understanding for a better world. As I sit here, speaking to the young professionals I trust will help change our world, I see the energy of this place fill everyone with an excitement and ambition to be change agents. This year, Sitar hosted TEDx AdamsMorgan. Check them out: @TEDxAdamsMorgan

Brenda Robinson: Excellent organization that provides outstanding theatrical and artistic opportunities for young people. Tony award recognition for this great organization.

Maria Clayton: Balloons! (ESTONIA) Kids Euro Festival

Arthur Wells: A very culturally diverse learning facility, giving young people an opportunity to express themselves and expand on their God given talents!

Karen Burton Jackson: Great arts school and the staff are talented and well educated ppl. Great place for after school and summer programs.

Maggie Williams: Critical: Communication, Professionalism, QualityClasses are a hit or a miss. A bit unprofessional as there was poor communication . Go to the workhouse art center in Lorton if you are looking for art classes.

B W: I absolutely love this school! I am moving soon and will greatly miss the instructors and even the new friends I’ve made. The instructors are very patient and are passionate about teaching. I have learned so much from attending workshops and several 9 week courses!! I wished I could pick the school up and move it to my new dwelling place, but since I can’t, I will leave an awesome review :) To all the instructors, Thank You! Thank you for giving of your time and knowledge to us the students! We are better artists of all kind because of you! I can only speak for myself, but I grew by leaps and bounds in my craft from being connected to this school! I am ever so thankful for the brilliant mind who was blessed by God to start this school years ago. The education I have received was just as good or better than paying high priced tuition at a university. I pray nothing but continued blessings upon this institution!

Nabil Elhalawany: I am a medical Dr. interested in Art.

Latrina Proctor-Jones: Luv Art all forms...😀

Kidcreate Studio - Alexandria: what do users think?

Crystal Mosser: I had my first Kidcreate Art Studio experience yesterday at a neighbor’s birthday party. The party was organized, clean and the kids LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! They got to make such cool art and my kids came home saying it was the BEST birthday party ever! I highly recommend Kidcreate!

Allison Leavitt: Kidcreate Studio did a mobile party for us to celebrate our daughter’s 5th birthday. We loved it - and so did the kids! The calmest I’ve ever seen 15, 5 year olds act! 😂. It allowed the kids to have fun and the parents got to relax as well. They thought of everything and had great art projects to choose from. Would definitely recommend!

Ayda Seekford: I used them for the first time and I was very impressed with their services. Kidcreate Studio came to my house to deliver the party. My daughter loves pigs and I asked for the drawing to be a pig and the owner and one of her staff members came up with a beautiful painting of a pig. My daughter and her friends had a blast drawing specially when they got to the part about being creative and making their drawing unique to them. I recommend Kidcreate Studio 100%.

Tabatha: Just wanted to say thank you! I traveled from Stafford to bring my daughter to your art camp for one day which was her birthday. With everything going on she has been couped up in the house for a while thought she would enjoy this and she did!!!!! You and your staff made the start of her birthday Great!!!! We hung the birthday banner up at home for family to sign when they came over later the same evening. She enjoyed showing off her artwork which was displayed for everyone to see! Thanks so much for making her feel special making a crown for her to wear too. Thank you again she had a great 4th birthday we will be back again soon.

US Arts Center: what do users think?

Caitlyn Kantaparn: I’ve been taking classes at the US Arts Center for 5 years. All of my teachers have been so helpful in teaching me technical and conceptual skills in a variety of media. They have always pushed me to create pieces outside my comfort zone, while also making sure my pieces were enjoyable to me. From taking classes at US Arts, I have gained so much more passion and confidence in my work, and I realized art was something I wanted to pursue in college. Not only did US Arts help improve my artistic abilities, but they also helped with many other parts of my college application journey as well. Ms. Xiaoyi has given amazing guidance for my artist statements and portfolio reviews. I’m so thankful for everything US Arts has provided me and I don’t know what I’d do without them!

Michael Shi: I went to US arts for over 10 years and I believe that this place really allowed me to explore my interest in art. One thing that really puts US Arts over the rest is that they have small class sizes which gives all of the amazing teachers ample time to work with students.

meilisparkle: My daughter has been with US Arts for many years, since its very opening. The owners Ms. Janet and her husband are very kind, patient and professional folks that we fully trust. Over many years, this is the only extra-curriculum activity that my daughter has persisted and every week looks forward to, not only because she genuinely loves drawing but most importantly being in a positive growth environment with no-pressure. I thought this is important as nowadays there is just too much pressure everywhere for kids. Both teachers and students are of great diversity here and US Arts have comprehensive school-year curriculum along with summer and specialty camps as well as opportunities for outdoor drawings and art museum visits. All of the teachers my daughter had at US Arts are great artists themselves. There are periodic touch-points, parent-teacher conference, and portfolio review. The teachers and Janet always went great lengths explaining curriculum, elaborating things that are important and provide many reminders along the way. As parent and as far as art class goes here, I can honestly say it is a worry free. Happy to witness its growth over the years. Art enriches our life and I feel their hard work and business is doing great thing to the community.

ayla: I’ve attended for 5 years and counting and the teachers are amazing. They really care about how the students are doing and will help them improve their artwork. US Arts also has summer courses. Although it is expensive, I would say that it’s worth it. My artwork has definitely improved since I started! :)

JH Zhao: We have two kids and our kids have been at summer camp program with US Arts since 2010. We really like the programs offered at US Arts and like the teachers there. They have small class size and the teachers know all kids very well. Their teachers are very nice to the students. Our kids love US Arts so much and want to come US Arts every summer. This is our third year. We are very happy with the program and their services.

Arlington Arts Center: what do users think?

Courtney Bradshaw: Such a wonderful part of Arlington! The art on display is contemporary and very interesting to view. Their classes are excellent! I took a drawing class this spring and the instructor, Melanie, was fantastic. I am not a natural at drawing but Melanie made it manageable while still challenging us. She was able to adapt really well to moving virtually the last couple of classes due to the pandemic, and I don’t think it diminished the experience.

Jon: Great space providing locals the opportunity to make and enjoy art.

Chris Kagy: Small, but great quality place! There are always interesting exhibits on display here. This is a small space, so you get very close to the pieces. The Tiffany room also displays beautiful L C Tiffany stained glass windows from Arlington house. Professional artists have studios here, too. Finally, the kids art themes day camps offered here generally get the kids involved with and building on the current exhibits with guidance by great staff

Betty Belanus: Free, close to metro and a high quality of exhibitions. Also offers classes and workshops.

Jim Ruckman: Came here to attend a wedding. The venue was beautiful, the service was attentive, and the ability to break from the crowd to peruse the art selection was great for for giving me some great break time.

Linda Bishop: Very friendly artists. Lots of interesting artwork & history: facility where suffragettes were emprisoned. Photos taken at Occoquan Park, nearby suffragette memorial.

Petrina Lincoln: Great experience seeing the musical xanadu. My 12 year old and 2 year old both enjoyed it also

#photohoag: Work House arts center, what an amazing change from old prison to supporting the arts and giving back to the community. There really does seem to be something for everyone. You really should check out the website and find something to try.

Scott Ewing: Arches Gallery in building 9 has some beautiful pottery

Cyborg82SS: Take kids here for art class. Cool they still have the bldg the original way and setting. You can walk around and just explore.

Judith Ann Arnold: Huge spaces for a variety of gallery favorites! Wonderful positive vibe. Friendly service & enjoyed the gift shop as well

Shelly Durkee: Fascinating place and history! Worth a stop!

Cindy Romero: The coolest experience on a rainy Saturday. My toddler, mom and me had so much fun perusing the various artist galleries and it was great to see so many talented women artists especially. A good mix of diverse art mediums. The icing on the cake though was the amazingly hospitable and warm staff in the cafe in the visitors center. They had a delicious selection of food and simply perfect hot chocolate that hit the spot on a rainy day. They were so accommodating to my rambunctious toddler, even playing with her and making her special drinks. She had such a blast. The cafe is a must and will have you leaving with warm vibes.

Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture: what do users think?

James Walker: During my weekend visit, I experienced the Cherry Blossom Family Celebration with traditional music, that drew large crowds. Inside the Kogod Courtyard was the flower exhibit, showcasing Orchids. Finally, took in the artwork that covers several levels of this huge building. Take the stairs or elevators to get around. Restrooms on all levels, souvenir shops and a cafe are currently open.

Hilda Kroll: Now is a great time to visit the Kogod Courtyard during the Orchid Exhibit. Always interesting exhibits to see as well as the permanent SAAM and Portrait Gallery collections.

A To Z Sales 1: We had purchased a couple of American flags🇺🇸🇺🇸from a vendor, and upon arrival, not even getting in the door good. We were asked to get rid of our flags, that they were not allowed inside. We even asked if they would hold on to them while we toured and they refused.....very un- American!!! The artwork was amazing, but the experience really killed the vibe.

Shaopeng Yuan: Very beautiful building and good place to meet up with friends to spend a weekend.

Junhyun Park: Very interesting place!! A lot of history and people including the presidents, founding fathers, American natives, artists and celebrities. I could learn a lot from this fantastic museum.

Raul Jauregui: Figurative masterpiece assembly. Absolutely perfect way to learn US history through images. And a lovely building with original tyle floors upstairs.

Len Oppenheimer: Amazing "stop and stare" portraits of American names in history.
