Lou Costanza: The staff are super friendly. The store is very clean and even though it’s small, they have an amazing variety of classy chocolate. I really love the Washington Monument chocolates. They make unique and excellent gifts. Beautiful selection of Easter candy as well.
Sachiko Ueno: The Chocolate Chocolate is the oasis in the middle of DC. Every time we go there, we felt welcomed with the smiles and the hospitality of the owners. They have the varieties of the candies and chocolates and also they have seasonal items which usually are lovely! I ordered the chocolates a few times during the pandemic, and they delivered them so well. I am going to order more for my treats!

Doug G: I love this little gem of a specialty chocolate shop. I visited just before Christmas and they had a full selection of truffles, holiday chocolate gifts, and an amazing array of bars. The staff really know their chocolates. They were helpful as always pointing out and describing options for 80%+ cocoa bars I was trying to find. And in selecting truffles for custom truffle boxes, including local chocolatiers! It is my go to place for special occasion gifts or treating myself to hard to find chocolates.
Virginia Milius: I’ve been to right many chocolate shops and this one was just okay. They did have a decent selection. I always look to see if they have Icelandic chocolate bars and this place did. I took my time and selected a few items. I was surprised at my total but good chocolate is a little pricey. I enjoyed the curry coconut truffle and the lavender caramel chocolate. The other ones were kind of blah. The espresso bar was very tasty and the intense 95% dark with ginger was complex and truly unique. Loved it. Haven’t touched the pyramid yet but plan to next weekend. Staff member was friendly.

Alek Cannan: Absolutely the best chocolates and truffles I’ve found in DC! Really an interesting variety of gourmet truffle flavors. This shop is great for gifts, or for a treat to yourself. We have signed up for their monthly subscription of one box of truffles per month. Very fun to try different kinds. The owners and staff are also very friendly. Highly recommended.

First of all the lady working was very friendly and patient with us as we decided which truffles we wanted. I am familiar with products that are carried in this store as well because I carry them in the store I manage as well. Some of the truffles we got were raspberry, passion fruit, the coffee one, lemon, yuzu, and a few more. The raspberry was too tart for my boyfriend but I absolutely loved everyone that I ate. I highly recommend!

Christopher Woofter: Amazing chocolate choices from around the world make this shop very unique. The staff are super knowledgeable and take time with each customer. The merchandise is over priced or at least more costly than one would expect. Asking for a good dark chocolate bar without being too costly the sales associate offer us two bars at $10 and $12. These were modest sized. The one we bought was amazing but perhaps some more approachable wares might be worth adding. Great chocolate doesn’t have to be crazy expensive. The variety and shop set up was very clean and well organized.

R Al-Dulaimi: Hands down the best hot chocolate. Also, their chocolate boxes make a great gift. They do not have WiFi in store, I had the intention of getting some work done while enjoying my hot chocolate in this cold weather, but they don’t have WiFi! I also liked their tea, I asked the man who was refilling the shelves there if they sell it, he regrettably said no but he got my friend and I a few tea bags.. very very kind of him!

The chocolate was good too sweet for my taste. A friend ordered a pastry and it tasted so good I wish that I had ordered that instead of drinks. They have hand made mouse 🐁 and they look so cute. Will return for pastry and outside vibes.

Dominic Giglio-Tos: Another great shopping experience was had here. The chocolates and wonderful, and the service was also excellent. The employees were happy to help us whenever we wanted anything and they were conversational. They also handled a particularly rude customer that was there with tact and patience. Wendy Moody: I drive by Bethesda Chocolates every day on my way to work and I finally had the opportunity to stop by this sweet spot to grab a Chia Latte, where I was struck by the warm ambiance, friendly the service, and the unexpected variety of house-made confections and hot beverages! I ended up sitting inside relaxing in their chocolate-colored leather club chairs for almost an hour. It’s quaint, quiet, and cozy – the perfect place to chill with a book and coffee in hand! I had not eaten lunch, so I ordered a large mocha latte and a box of chocolates for my sister. The latte was delicious, and the staff was delightful. Brandon Cribbs: Let me start by saying that I have had many chocolates in and out of the U.S. These were some of the best chocolates I have ever had. Are they expensive......yes. Are they worth it......yes, yes, yes! I have not been impressed by chocolates in quite a long time. My wife is also very happy we got them. We each got 6 chocolates. Every single one was amazing. Perfect blend of flavor with the chocolate, without being too sweet. The chocolate itself also has a great flavor by itself. Aniah was super friendly, and helpful. After getting some coffees and chocolates, we were on our way. If you are anywhere near this place, you must stop in and get some of their chocolates. The coffee was not bad either.

t mac: A nice around the corner on Capitol Hill if your into different chocolate. Just step away from the metro and bus route. Yes they serve ice cream too. A chill spot if your not doing anything and just want to get out the house and do a little exercise and want a sweet treat for you, the kids and even the your furry kids.

The owner is extremely sweet, I could not find the story and I was searching for it for about 30 minutes. The owner personally came out and guided me to her store. In all my life, I’ve never met a owner like that. She is very hardworking and very friendly. I would highly recommend this store. Her chocolates are not only delicious, there are sold at a reasonable price. I got to create my own box with 15 pieces of chocolate for only $18. Please visit this store and support the owner and her amazing chocolates.
Simon Baxter: I love this location. They have the most awesome chocolates shaped in various designs, including the DC Monuments, various profession gift boxes - handcuffs and badge for cops, stuff related to nursing, judges, doctors, at cetera. And although you have to sometimes call for them when you come in because they are busy making chocolate, it is definitely worth the stop in for almost anything that you could think of.

As a gift they come gift boxed and wrapped in a beautiful setting. But my advise is eat them first before giving them as a gift. They are that good.
Sam Russell: definitely in my top 2 for chocolatiers in the NOVA/DC area. They use vahlrhonna chocolate as the base for their truffles- which is my favorite. They always have a good selection of flavors that has both variety and appeal, plus they have seasonal flavors so I always feel like I have more to look forward the next time I get some. I hands down recommend their caramels (not in the truffle case) and their Tahitian vanilla truffle. Delicious!

Meet Miss Sallyy: Joined a recent compass and Arcay co-organized zoom chocolate tasting event w/ a nice selection of black gold drops 💧. I love Basil, passion fruit and other fruity flavors… I am also amazed by the self- educated chocolatier’s knowledge on her productions… what a memorable experience. I would love to join one of their classes. :D so fun. Would love to visit Annabella in person soon.

Sonya Shannon: Lux gourmet hand made chocolates in Georgetown. What a treat. A beautiful creation but even more important is the immense flavor packed inside every piece. The passion fruit filled piece is layered and is like biting into a passion fruit tart with a white chocolate crust. The Dar chocolate buttered Carmel filled piece is truly delectable. I picked the 4 piece box with the 12 piece of espresso flavored butter cookies. Yum!

I got a small box of bon bons to give as a gift and a large box to share with family over the holidays. They were a big hit, the passion fruit white chocolate was the crowd favorite. Danielle W: Great selection of local Virginia wine which is specially delivered to their shop. Also very good chocolates especially the Carmel ones. Handmade soaps are good as well. They also sell blue crab ceramics and some lake/water themed house decor.
Charlotte Geary: My kids and I love Chesapeake Chocolates! Doris and the rest of the staff are so kind and welcoming to us. The chocolate is delicious, and they always have adorable, seasonal chocolates for every occasion. The shop is a great place to buy gifts, too, with an excellent selection of Virginia wines and handmade crafts.
Ruth Sievers: Hand made chocolates made in small batches are the main draw here, but the store also sells jewelry, scarves, cards, wine and other gift items. Lovely little place. And the chocolate is delicious. I almost forgot: there is a Post Office inside the store.
Linda S (LindaS): Excellent chocolates. Also love the spiced grape wine served warm. The entrance to Chesapeake Chocolates is on the lake side of the plaza. Got a lot of my Christmas shopping done there in a matter of minutes.
