The Chocolate House: what do users think?

Doug G: I love this little gem of a specialty chocolate shop. I visited just before Christmas and they had a full selection of truffles, holiday chocolate gifts, and an amazing array of bars. The staff really know their chocolates. They were helpful as always pointing out and describing options for 80%+ cocoa bars I was trying to find. And in selecting truffles for custom truffle boxes, including local chocolatiers! It is my go to place for special occasion gifts or treating myself to hard to find chocolates.
Response: Hi Doug, thanks for taking the time to leave this wonderful review and for your visit to our small shop! We truly enjoy helping people find their ideal chocolate - especially at the holidays. I hope you had a fun and delicious holiday! See you in the New Year!

Virginia Milius: I’ve been to right many chocolate shops and this one was just okay. They did have a decent selection. I always look to see if they have Icelandic chocolate bars and this place did. I took my time and selected a few items. I was surprised at my total but good chocolate is a little pricey. I enjoyed the curry coconut truffle and the lavender caramel chocolate. The other ones were kind of blah. The espresso bar was very tasty and the intense 95% dark with ginger was complex and truly unique. Loved it. Haven’t touched the pyramid yet but plan to next weekend. Staff member was friendly.
Response: Thanks for your review and for visiting, Virginia! I’m happy to hear that you found some chocolates you enjoyed. We hope to see you again soon and to help you find some more new favorites! -Marisol

Brian Hart: Fantastic chocolate shop with a wide selection of craft chocolate. I went in looking for chocolate made locally in the DC area. The worker quickly pointed me to exactly what I wanted. My wife loved the selection of bars I purchased for her!

Alek Cannan: Absolutely the best chocolates and truffles I’ve found in DC! Really an interesting variety of gourmet truffle flavors. This shop is great for gifts, or for a treat to yourself. We have signed up for their monthly subscription of one box of truffles per month. Very fun to try different kinds. The owners and staff are also very friendly. Highly recommended.
Response: Hi Alek, thanks for your kind review! We're glad that you enjoyed your truffle subscription. Hope to see you again soon in store:)

Todd Huntley: Anyone who enjoys gourmet, slave labor-free chocolate, knows that $2.50 per piece is actually on the inexpensive end. I travel from Philadelphia to visit this little shop at least twice a year. Highly recommend for it's friendly staff, variety and delicious handmade chocolates! Yum

Catharine Funk: We were looking for a place to kill some time while sigh seeing and waiting for our hockey game that evening and we ventured to the Chocolate house. First of all the lady working was very friendly and patient with us as we decided which truffles we wanted. I am familiar with products that are carried in this store as well because I carry them in the store I manage as well. Some of the truffles we got were raspberry, passion fruit, the coffee one, lemon, yuzu, and a few more. The raspberry was too tart for my boyfriend but I absolutely loved everyone that I ate. I highly recommend!

Hannah Seidel: Delicious chocolates and excellent vegan and dairy-free selection. Easy to work with for special events as well - we ordered a few hundred vegan truffles for our wedding and they were a huge hit!
Response: Hi Hannah, thanks for choosing your wedding chocolates from us! It's been a pleasure working with you. May the years ahead be filled with happiness and chocolates! :)

Viv C.: This cute little place is run by a sweet couple. Delicious chocolate. They even gave me a little ice pack after they learned that I would be under the sun for a while so that my chocolate wouldn’t melt. Will come back.

Shelby Burns: The Chocolate House is wonderful! I did a truffle making class and it was a great time. We learned a lot and the truffles were delicious. I highly recommend this class!
Response: Absolutely wonderful to hear you enjoyed our truffle making class, Shelby! We hope we get to see you in again soon to try our many bon bons and bars!

Christopher Woofter: Amazing chocolate choices from around the world make this shop very unique. The staff are super knowledgeable and take time with each customer. The merchandise is over priced or at least more costly than one would expect. Asking for a good dark chocolate bar without being too costly the sales associate offer us two bars at $10 and $12. These were modest sized. The one we bought was amazing but perhaps some more approachable wares might be worth adding. Great chocolate doesn’t have to be crazy expensive. The variety and shop set up was very clean and well organized.
Response: We're glad to hear you enjoyed our chocolate and had helpful service, Christopher! We hope to see you in again for another round of chocolate.

Arcay Chocolates: what do users think?

Meet Miss Sallyy: Joined a recent compass and Arcay co-organized zoom chocolate tasting event w/ a nice selection of black gold drops 💧. I love Basil, passion fruit and other fruity flavors… I am also amazed by the self- educated chocolatier’s knowledge on her productions… what a memorable experience. I would love to join one of their classes. :D so fun. Would love to visit Annabella in person soon.

Mandy M: I decided on getting a 6 piece box of truffles and I was really impressed by the beautiful glossy appearance of each and the flavors were incredibly rich and creamy. I did find the price point a little high, the total was $17.75 for 6 so just shy of $3 each. It was definitely worth trying once!

Jen Hawse: Delightful and decedent. Bought them for Valentine's day and loved the variety I could choose from. Came quickly, as I had them shipped. Will be ordering again for a friend's upcoming birthday!
Response: Thank you, Jen!! You will be very Welcome!

John McClamy: Anabella is amazing!!! I asked her to make a birthday cake for me and now it’s the talk of my birthday. A friendly person whose love for life is experienced through her chocolates. You have a gift!!!

Lyanne Colon Santos: This was the most unique experience I've ever had tasting chocolates. Dario was extremely welcoming and friendly. My favorite was passion fruit and coffee/rum.
Response: Thank you Lyanne. We are so happy that you liked the Truffles!! We hope to see you soon!!

Claudia Nunes: Loove their chocolates!! I’ve had them shipped a couple of times to give as gifts and they arrived super fast. Make sure you try the passion fruit and crunchy almond truffles!

Yolanda Hamzaoui: The most amazing chocolate experience. Total out of body. Anabella the creator owner is SOOO kind and sweet, more than her chocolates, which is saying a lot. Each chocolate has its own personality. I haven't tried them all but I will :-) If YOU haven't tried them, go ahead and make that special trip. It's worth it.
Response: My dear Yolanda, so glad to meet you. Thank for your kind words. Have a beautiful holiday times. XOXO!!! Anabella

Sara Garzia: First time visiting. Ended up buying 3 boxes so I could take some home to Florida as gifts. Everyone loved them. I will be back when I come back to Washington.
Response: Thank you, Sara! We are so glad that you liked the chocolates!! Be warm welcome again!

t L: Delightful chocolates and very friendly staff! It's hard to find innovative chocolate flavors. I can find dark chocolate and sea salt anywhere, but not flavors like: blackberry cardamom, lemon basil, rosemary and sea salt, tamarind, and cherry blossom. All very delicious and I'll be coming back here before my trip is over.

Alejandra Willson: The BEST chocolates I’ve ever tasted!!! The place is beautiful and literally every flavor is amazing. These are perfect for birthdays and dinner invitations, as a present or for an event and their packaging is sooo cute. I always buy here and ive always had a great experience overall.

Mangia DC Food Tours: what do users think?

Mo Wakefield: We went on the Georgetown Foodie Tour yesterday and it was great. Marsha was an excellent tour guide and was very knowledgeable about Georgetown history and the food we tried. I’ve been on other food tours where you have tastes/samples at a number of places. This one was different because we only went to 4 places -but had a full serving of the food we were tasting. It was wonderful really getting to experience the food - and ended up needed a bag to take leftovers!! We’ll definitely do a Mangia Tour again- can’t wait for the Italian tour!

Karen McIntosh: Love love loved our Mangia DC Food Tour! Really enjoyed the restaurant choices and the stories behind them. The food was plentiful and delicious. McKendrey was a fantastic tour guide - fun, friendly, knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

Dawn Matthews: We had the best time today, touring Georgetown’s gorgeous streets with our incredibly personable and knowledgeable hosts McEndrey and Dave! The peroski and veggie taco were the bomb! Loved seeing Julia Child’s home in this gorgeous area of DC.

Simone Ireland: It was a wonderful experience walking through the beautiful neighborhoods of Georgetown. We heard some very interesting stories about the history of the city, the structures, and many fun facts. But let's talk about the food. The food offerings were delicious and filling. I'm glad we were walking because I had to work up an appetite for between stops. Shannon was very knowledgeable and gracious to the entire group! If you're a foodie or have never tried a food tour, this is a great experience!

Heather Wasson: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueWe did the Georgetown Foodie tour. I really liked the smaller group size. It was very informative and Shannon, the tour guide, kept us engaged. It was the perfect balance of learning, walking, socializing, and eating. The food choices were so yummy! We’re local (from MD) and still learned so much. Highly recommended!

Butch Gaddy: We had a great time with Marsha. She’s a very knowledgeable guide. The food was good and so many points of Georgetown history and interest. Great way to spend an afternoon!

J Shedd: Fun facts and tasty afternoon exploring Georgetown, McKendree was friendly and is clearly a big fan of her city. Come hungry, you gets lots of food (and good vegetarian options). Thumbs up!

Marine B: I absolutely loved this tour ! Huge portions of food. You can be sure that you will not still be hungry afterwards. Marsha's knowledge and kindness were also why I appreciated this tour. Thank you very much Mangia DC Food Tours !

Kim C: My husband and I truly enjoyed Marsha' historical knowledge of the area and the background information about our food stops. The food and drink options were great that we went back to one of them after the tour to buy some goodies. We are locals and we thought that this tour was a hidden gem. We cannot wait to go on another tour!

Karen Azeez: We had a fun experience of the Georgetown Food Tour with Shannon. There is a lot of history along the tour in addition to the food. We are locals, but still learned some new facts about the neighborhood. The food is pretty filling, so come hungry! If you have any ability to control it, try to plan the tour on a day when the weather is nice because you're outside for a lot of it.

Cozymeal Cooking Classes: what do users think?

Jeanne Liu: We took the Festival of Indian Flavors class with Chef Manjiri and it was wonderful! She explained everything and her recipe was fast and not intimidating. What we made was so delicious and I can't wait to try out one of her other classes. Do not hesitate to book one of Chef Manjiri's classes!

D H: I had my Cozymeal event today. I have never participated in an online cooking class before, and I must say it was great! My daughter and I took the class making the Chinese dumplings with Chef Li. Chef Li was great and while making the recipes really gave good information on the Chinese culture and the different types of substitutions to use in the event you are not able to get a specific ingredient. She made suggestions regarding kitchen utensils and made sure that all of us were on track with her during her instruction. My only difficulty was with the recipes being in grams and not in US measurements. It would be nice to have both listed. I live in a very rural area and this option of online cooking classes is such a welcome experience. I would definitely take another class!!

Theano Kampani: Really enjoyed having Chef Greg cook for my husband and me. Great food, and great conversation! We highly recommend Chef Greg and his Spanish dishes. The star of the menu was the dessert for us :)

T. C.: Amazing ! Very nice evening with the chef Boby, evening that we will not forget soon! The menu was delicious and it was a beautiful moment of culinary sharing with the chef. To be repeated!

Benjamin Bowden: Really enjoyed having Chef Tiffany cook for my girlfriend and me. Great food, great conversation, and a generally excellent evening. One note: she arrived 45 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time, when nobody was home. Her early arrival was a positive, as the meal took a few hours to prepare, but Cozymeal should communicate better with the clients about true arrival time. Bottom line: Tiffany provided an excellent French meal, all cooked from scratch, with fresh ingredients. Moreover, there were leftovers! Really looking forward to my next Cozymeal experience.

Niki Holmes: We had an amazing experience with Chef Judith. Her recipes were easy; we had great company; and the Chef taught us some very useful techniques. --Plus--The food tasted so delicious!

Valerie Damond: Last night twelve members of my family experienced a truly remarkable Spanish dinner. Chef Greg presented us with a very relaxing and utterly delicious meal. Every course was beautifully displayed and clearly constructed with the best ingredients. He and his helper served us and left the kitchen immaculate. If you would like to experience an expertly crafted Spanish cuisine, I highly recommend Chef Greg.

Kathleen Norwood: This was a wonderful experience. Chef Gustavo was a delightful host and instructor He shared knife and preparation tips as well as the history of the food. The food was muy rico and we came away with many tips to make prep easier and food tastier for making a yummy paella as well as other dishes. Chef Gustavo created a welcoming, warm and relaxed evening. Thank you, Chef Gutavo!

Alison Ponzi: We had an evening full of freshly made pasta, bruschetta, and bread pudding with Chef Tiffany. I bought a KitchenAid mixer last year with the pasta attachment, and she was open to teaching me how to use it. She also worked with us on our likes/dislikes allowing us to choose a different appetizer. All in all it was a successful night with great food, company, and conversation.

Jake: This was an amazing experience. Chef Gustavo was the consummate host and instructor! He shared knife and preparation tips with us in addition to showing us how to cook an amazing 4-course meal. The food was superb and he was a great entertainer as well. Thanks so much Chef! We look forward to coming back!

Chesapeake Chocolates: what do users think?

Dennis Wijers: If you want to support a local Northern Virginia shop, look no further. It was great to taste locally made sweets and stray from the regular chocolate brands we see everyday. The variety of treats are delightful and they don't skimp on stuffing the truffles with tasty fillings. For the finer audience, they also have a wide selection of local wines along with tastings throughout the month.
Response: Thank you, Dennis!

Peter Clarkson: Stale Chocolates. The quality has dropped from what used to be nice fresh chocolates. 2 days after Mother's Day, when they should been fresh, we bought a box. When opened, there was no lustre just a dull finish on the outside. The coating was dry and stale as was the center ganache. Taste was thin, not rich as before. It is a pity they their namesake product has deteriorated so much. (PS: did not bother driving back to get an exchange.)

Danielle W: Great selection of local Virginia wine which is specially delivered to their shop. Also very good chocolates especially the Carmel ones. Handmade soaps are good as well. They also sell blue crab ceramics and some lake/water themed house decor.
Response: Thank you Danielle! Saturday is "Open a Bottle of Virginia Wine Day", so stop by if you need one to open and enjoy.

D Carl: it's not a happy place, especially for being a chocolate shop. I've been to the store several times , and on all but one occasion, there has been a lot of verbal and written lecturing about what you can and cannot do in the store. This is not limited to masks. if you go in, note the signs as well as the behaviors. You are being talked down to. Not pleasant. I will only go there now as a last resort to mail packages if I cannot get to the post office.

Sam Russell: Enjoyed the store with a variety of local VA items, but mainly went there for the chocolate and was disappointed. It was great that the saleswoman knew about the chocolates and could share details with us and the price is quite good for handmade chocolates (we got 5 pieces in a bag for $5.02- so just about $1 per piece), but it shows in the taste- which for me is the main component :( The barks are better than their truffles, but neither are special (hate to say that as I love supporting local chocolatiers). I travel the world enjoying artisan/craft chocolates and truffles, so my tastes are possibly a bit different than yours. As such don't let me steer you away from getting a few pieces as they're not expensive, but there are much better chocolates in the area from other local chocolatiers.

Lane Boyd: The chocolate and wine selection is really great! I've enjoyed everything that I've tasted from this spot. They relegate the chocolate mostly to one side of the store, and I wish it were more spread about. The cashier was marginally unpleasant and made me a little uncomfortable. Maybe a bad day? I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt because it was quite busy and social distancing was hard.

Charlotte Geary: My kids and I love Chesapeake Chocolates! Doris and the rest of the staff are so kind and welcoming to us. The chocolate is delicious, and they always have adorable, seasonal chocolates for every occasion. The shop is a great place to buy gifts, too, with an excellent selection of Virginia wines and handmade crafts.

Ruth Sievers: Hand made chocolates made in small batches are the main draw here, but the store also sells jewelry, scarves, cards, wine and other gift items. Lovely little place. And the chocolate is delicious. I almost forgot: there is a Post Office inside the store.

Linda S (LindaS): Excellent chocolates. Also love the spiced grape wine served warm. The entrance to Chesapeake Chocolates is on the lake side of the plaza. Got a lot of my Christmas shopping done there in a matter of minutes.

T. Parker Gallagher: Fantastic chocolates, locally owned, friendly and does custom orders, quickly. I am a 5year, 4-6 times per year, repeat customer. Doris is top notch!
Response: Thanks so much!

River-Sea Chocolates Factory: what do users think?

Laura Spriggs Gray: We reserved a chocolate tour and tasting at River-sea where they make all of their chocolate from bean to bar. The tour was fun and informative and Eli really knows his stuff having worked in every part of the chocolate production. We got to sample raw cocoa beans and freshly roasted unprocessed cocoa beans as well as all of their top selling bars. These chocolates are fabulous and highly eco conscious. Stop by for a taste and a tour you will not be disappointed!

Amy Benjamin: Wonderful chocolate shop! My friends and I did a chocolate-bar making class. We got to hear about how the shop makes their own chocolate from the beans and we tried their milk chocolate and dark chocolate. For the chocolate bars, we added in all sorts of toppings like graham crackers, marshmallows, nuts, dried fruit, etc. It was so fun and everything was delicious!
Response: In our opinion there is nothing better than learning about how chocolate is made and then getting to throw a variety of toppings on your own bars to take home! We are so happy you enjoyed your bar decorating class!

Brian Via: Wonderful little chocolate shop/bakery. Their tasting was fantastic and the hot chocolate is delicious. Rebecca did an amazing job leading a tasting and mini tour and the owners were very nice as well 😁
Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your tasting/tour! We are proud to have Rebecca on our team.

Tatiana Russell: A must sea! Hidden gem of an artisan, locally owned chocolate factory - they offer kid tours (that grown adults enjoy just as much) and tastings, as well as an impressive selection of organic, vegan, less sugar treats. They import their chocolate beans from Brazil, Columbia, Tanzania and all over the world. Both kids and adults in our group appreciated the factory tour and it was so fun learning how chocolate is made and getting to participate in the process! They also offer hot chocolate bombs and out of this world hot chocolate 🍫
Response: Thank you for the review Tatiana!

C Hawkins: This place, River-Sea Chocolates Factory, is wonderful and a must visit location. We even got to enjoy vegan treats among their many non-vegan items. The chocolate bar was WOW to say the least. Learning that the products are bought up by sail vice a motor vessel is incredible as it reduces the carbon footprint on getting the goods here for us to enjoy. See the photo about Brigantes Shipping and being a member of the Sail Cargo Alliance. How neat it is to know that wonderful products use the power of sail to move from one place to another which is keeping the old school nautical skill alive and well. We really enjoyed the treats while visiting River-Sea Chocolates Factory and wish you the very same tasty experience.
Response: We are glad that you learned so much and appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes of how we receive and produce our products. We've spent lots of time perfecting our sustainability and using organic ingredients.

Samantha McInerney: I attended a tasting and tour today and LOVED the whole experience. It was so interesting to learn about the company and the whole process they go through to make this amazing chocolate. The staff members were very knowledgeable and very passionate and we really enjoyed our afternoon there. Of course we bought more chocolate to take home too!
Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed the Tasting and Tour! Thanks for coming and shopping at our factory!

Umber Aggarwal: We had an awesome time during the chocolate tasting at River-Sea. Our tour guide, Eli, was absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Eli kept us entertained the entire time as we learned in great detail about the chocolate making process. My wife and I tasted numerous dark, milk, and white chocolates and truly appreciated learning how to do a proper chocolate tasting. The chocolate itself was made of very few ingredients, yet everything was very tasty - much better than the large brands. My wife and I really did not know what to expect but we were extremely impressed by the tour. We highly recommend it!
Response: It sounds like you both had a great time tasting chocolate and learned to appreciate what good chocolate should taste like! We work very hard trying to make the tours knowledgeable and fun, Eli does a great job making sure that happens! Thanks for the outstanding recommendation :-)

S.: My wife and I enjoyed ourselves very much. The associates working there were very courteous and professional. We definitely have a greater appreciation to the process of making chocolate now. We tried 7 different kinds of chocolate from all around the world which was very insightful. We also bought some bars for ourselves, and definitely will let other know about them.
Response: It sounds like you were lucky enough to absorb the knowledge of chocolate through one of our outstanding tour guides. We are so glad you enjoyed your time here! Come back to visit regularly and you'll get to enjoy some of our limited seasonal flavors that we rotate.

Christine Tarrago: Firstly you have to go and visit the place itself - when you come through the door you are already greeted with the smell of chocolate. Through windows you can actually observe the entire chocolate making process - all handcrafted - a true work of art! Then you enter the shop and see the variety of beautifully packed chocolates - each wrapping by the way itself is a piece of art! You can tell that chocolates here are made with love! The owners are extremely nice, and their story what led them to making chocolates that are sustainable all along the value chain is inspiring! I brought home a variety and have to say, I couldn't get enough of the smooth, full bodied flavor of chocolate; while definitely enjoying each single piece of it, I honestly have to say I finished the chocolates the very same evening, because they are simply said AMAZING. The texture was smooth, and the flavor in my mouth was rich and deep. I shall be back for more!!!
Response: Wow! Thank you so much for leaving us a review! We have to agree that the constant smells of chocolate here are incredible :-) We work extremely hard at perfecting each chocolate bar whether a single origin or a seasonal flavor. Hope you visit us again to try something new!

DIY COMIX FAQ with G. E. Gallas: This is Geri, the owner of Open Book Chocolates. I've been working with Krissee, Mariano, Dina, etc. of River-Sea Chocolates for the past few years. They make all our chocolate bars. We love working with them. They are so lovely, friendly, and are always enthusiastic about any new ideas I have. They care so much about the quality of their chocolate as well as being Fair Trade and eco-friendly. We especially love their hot chocolate; once you'd had their hot chocolate all other hot chocolate pales in comparison. You couldn't find a better chocolate factory! Thank you so much for everything and I look forward to working with you in the coming years!
Response: Geri, Thank you for your kind comment! We truly enjoy creating such unusual and delicious chocolate bars for you that pair with classic novels. Can't wait to see what's next in the lineup!

Sprinkles Georgetown: what do users think?

Shanice Stewart: I absolutely love their salted caramel cupcakes! I’m not a big fan of the rainbow sprinkle cupcakes, because they are not fun to chew. Every time I go from here on out, I will order half a dozen salted caramel cupcakes because they are the best! Great Customer Service!
Response: We appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon!

Dia Berrios: Ugh I used love Sprinkles. Not sure if the recipes have changed due to Covid and the food supply shortages but they are not the same. Kind of sad about it. The strawberry was lacking strawberry flavor the only thing that had strawberry was the frosting. Everything else was decent. But for the price I was highly disappointed because there are so many other options in DC. I wont be returning unfortunately.
Response: Thank you for your review. Our recipes have not changed. We'd like to learn more about your Sprinkles experiencing. Please email marketing@sprinkles.com so that we can learn more and make this right.

chelsea gadiano: It was busy but the line goes fast because of the convenient iPad ordering system. The staff were very friendly and order comes really quick! The cupcakes are soooo good! We got red velvet and lemon blueberry! My husband and I loved it! Their cream cheese frosting is the best! Cupcakes are so moist and delicious! Packaging is super cute!
Response: Thank you for the amazing 5-star review! We appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon!

K S: 10/10 experience!!! I loved the contactless payment, good covid protocols and the amazing moist cupcakes. I’ve only had sprinkles a few times at birthday parties and I decided to go there on my own; one of the best cupcake stores in DC! The staff is superb and the cupcakes come out efficiently!
Response: Thank you for the 5-star review!

Ree A: I went there in the Mother’s Day, I found only 2 types available of cupcakes it was the first time to try sprinkles Georgetown and reallyI didn’t like the sugar cream on the top of cupcakes also the cake was dry . I don’t know if Im un lucky in my selection choices or they prepare all cupcakes like what I tried. The service was fast although the store was crowded.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our bakery. We bake fresh daily and can sell out. We always recommend placing a pre-order on our website (order.sprinkles.com) or app. Please email marketing@sprinkles.com as we'd like to learn more.

McKenzie Taylor: Decided to try Sprinkles after seeing the line (+ reviews mentioning unfriendly service) at Georgetown Cupcakes) and was not disappointed! The staff at Sprinkles was incredibly friendly and ordering couldn’t have been easier. There were a few customers ahead of me but the kiosks allowed for quick, simple ordering. The red velvet cupcakes were great but the pumpkin was my favorite!
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review and kind words! We hope to see you again soon!

Keli Wright: I always enjoy going to Sprinkles. I went right before they closed and there was no line, a lot of cupcakes were sold out but still a great selection. I have brought lots of people here too.
Response: Thank you for your awesome 5-Star review! We hope to see you again soon!

Stephanie Corte: I’ve been a Sprinkles fan for many years now. The red velvet cupcakes are my very favorite dessert. The cream cheese frosting knocks it out of the park every time. They are just absolutely delicious cupcakes. I recommend becoming a rewards members if you live near a Sprinkles location. I frequently get a free cupcake. This place is definitely worth a visit if you have never been.
Response: Thank you for the 5-Star review!

Carrie Crowther: My favorite cupcake spot in DC! They’re so light and not overly sweet. Definitely in for a treat, and you don’t have to wait in a long line. My usual go to’s are red velvet, banana, and dark chocolate!
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review! We appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon!

iisha hackett: Good variety, but not too impressive for a $5 cupcake. Icing too sweet, cake not flavorful enough..Cute shop, pleasant staff. Worth a try

The Cheesecake Factory: what do users think?

YOUNG-i The GOD: Great service, hot and prompt food. I tried the clam chowder and salad. It was my first time trying clam chowder and it was pretty good. I also asked to swap the regular salad with the mix greens (no croutons). Everything tasted fresh. Also had a margarita and the sugar free cheesecake. Really surprised at how good that sugar free cheesecake was! Also, our waitress Brittany was excellent and attentive.
Response: Thank you so much for this review. We're glad you enjoyed our Clam Chowder, salad, and great service. We look forward to seeing you again soon for some more of our Low-Licious Cheesecake.

Eric Olkewicz: I had a great experience here. We were able to make a reservation and got seated right away without having to wait, on a Saturday night. Our Servers name was Colby and he was great! He was attentive to our needs and frequently checked up on us to see how we were doing. The food itself was delicious, as it always is. Love the bread especially. I highly recommend going here.
Response: Thanks for your review, Eric. We're glad you enjoyed the delicious food and great service our team provided during this visit. We hope to see you again soon.

Karine Rafferty: The staff was courteous and professional. I liked the salmon, but the accompanying asparagus were so thin they were mainly there for decoration. This was my first time eating in since the Omicron surge. I felt pretty safe. Masks were required and people who were seated with at least an empty table 's distance.
Response: Hi Karine, we're glad you enjoyed our salmon and courteous service. We are so sorry you were not satisfied with your asparagus. Next time, please let our managers know if anything can be improved so we can do our best to make it right. Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again soon.

trickynic303: Excellent service! Followed DC Health Mandate to show proof of vaccination to eat inside.
Response: Thanks for your review. We're glad our team provided excellent service when you dined with us. We look forward to your next visit.

Meet Miss Sallyy: Their food in this location is not as good as the one in Bethesda. I used to be a big fan of Cheesecake Factory.
Response: We are so sorry you were not satisfied with your meal, Sally. Next time, please let our managers know if anything can be improved so we can do our best to make it right. Thank you for your review, and we hope to see you again soon.

Kerrie Blackwell: My family and I went to celebrate my mother’s birthday around 3pm. We were a group of 6 people. Upon entering there is a sign about happy hour that starts at 4. The hostess seats us upstairs and the waitress was amazing. But when we asked about happy hour we were then informed that happy hour was ONLY for DOWNSTAIRS!?. So after we ordered food and ate a couple of us decided to order happy hour drinks from downstairs. After we ordered our drinks we returned upstairs after paying. After we paid upstairs a few of us returned downstairs for happy hour drinks where a new hostess/manager told the bar tenders not to serve us without expressing that to us not explaining why. So after a few moments I asked anyone I was with if they had ordered, it was not until then the hostess/manager decided to explain to us that she wasn’t serving us because WE HAD A TABLE UPSTAIRS!! Upset I expressed that we actually spent at least $250 in the restaurant and closed the tab and left the table already. She continued to say she can’t serve us and didn’t give an explanation why so we just left and told her CHEESECAKE FACTORY will no longer be a restaurant choice of ours.
Response: Hi Kerrie, we are very sorry for this experience with our staff. We'd like to speak with you more. Please visit our website’s Contact Us page. Select "General Questions and Comments" from the menu and allow us a few days to get back to you. Thank you.

Karen o reilly: Huge menu here so you need time to peruse it. All items have calories beside them !!!! Friendly waiter. Opted for a steak, Korean chicken and a skinny turkey and avocado sandwich. Fries with steak. Food was tasty but it could be hotter. I don't get Americans not getting hot food to the table as fast as possible??? Steak was large and for a 14yr old who loved it. Fussy sister who is usually not satisfied when she diverts from her "usual" just loved the Korean Chicken. The skinny sandwich was very tasty. All Flavourful food and huge portion of steak and chicken so doggy bag required. Restaurant was cold so didn't support us remaining on for cheesecake. Bill $72 dollars.
Response: Thanks for your review, Karen. We're glad you and your family enjoyed our Korean Fried Chicken, avocado toast, steak, generous portions, menu options, and friendly service. We hope to see you again soon.

Eli Argueta: This is by far the worst Cheesecake I’ve ever visited. I’m also not one to leave negative reviews but the food was BLAND and flavorless!! Also our waiter always forgot about us!! Had to wave him down Like I was at a concert! Than after 2 and half hours of mostly waiting around. Only spent a few minutes actually eating because the food was bad. I decided to pay my bill and order our desserts at the to-go section. They also took long (wasn’t busy) and I ordered 5 cakes and only received 4!! The one they missed being the birthday persons cake!! This restaurant has literally made me so upset, i spent over $200+ For horrible service and food!! Cheesecake is expensive too and I didn’t receive it. Honestly unhappy and mad.
Response: Hi Eli, we are terribly sorry for the food and service you received. We know you are frustrated and we would like to understand more. Please contact us by going to our webpage - http://www.thecheesecakefactory.com/connect. Click "General Questions and Comments" from the Contact Category drop-down menu. Thank you.

Jasmine Ramos: On 2/15/22 me and my fiancé were having a day in DC and we had a lovely server named Anna, kind and humorous. Brought everything in good time even though she had another table she made sure to take care of everyone, good place for a quick lunch enjoyed everything food was amazing and Anna was too! Thank you Anna :)
Response: Hi Jasmine, thank you for your review. We're glad you and your fiancé enjoyed our amazing food and service during this visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Chouquette Chocolate: what do users think?

Nancy Wunderlich: It’s Labor Day, everything is closed, and I needed a special birthday gift for a birthday celebration at 5 pm. I’d heard wonderful things about Chouquette, but couldn't find a way to get a local delivery until tomorrow. I took a chance and sent a text to the phone number on their website early this morning. The wonderful owner replied within minutes. She made a special trip into her commercial kitchen in the afternoon to make a fresh, custom assortment. She arranged for a convenient and Covid-safe pickup. The chocolates were beautiful, whimsical, unique, and, most importantly, delicious (she made me a mini sample box). I love good chocolate and these are the real deal. So, now I’ve found my new, favorite go-to gift source. Today was a primer in how to build a loyal customer base. Highly recommend!

Penny Burfeind: For my daughters bridal shower, we wanted something special to give as favors to our dearest family and friends. These chocolates were a tremendous hit! The packaging and presentation were beautiful and customized to my daughters colors and the chocolates themselves, DELICIOUS! Everyone was asking about them! Highly recommend for any special occasion or if you’re just in the mood for some delicious high quality chocolates!

Ambassade de France / Embassy of France: what do users think?

Caitlin Nichols: It’s been eight weeks since my partner applied for his visa and still nothing. Trying to contact the consulate is insane, automated replies that never follow up. His program is rapidly approaching and we’ve already had to cancel our flight once. This delay is an extremely expensive set back. All we have been hoping for is some kind of information about what’s going on so we can plan accordingly, but they are unable to give any answers. If he doesn’t receive his visa/passport in two weeks, he will have to cancel a once in a lifetime opportunity in his program and we will have lost thousands of dollars.

Justin Durant: I’m supposed to reciving my passport on 4/6 week. It’s already 10 week and nothing when’d I call no body help they say we dond speak ingles they are lazy they need replacement all this people I don’t know why the embassy is opened because they don’t do anything framce embassy of Dc is not good

somi maheshwari: Incredibly hard to get a hold of. Processing times are ridiculously long - have now been waiting for a month to get my visa. I have no clue when I’d get my passport back and there’s absolutely nobody willing to help me with that - not even the consulate in San Francisco or the VFS office.

Shopping Account: I had applied for FrenchVisa almost 2 weeks ago but I have still not received any updates regarding my visa application. I had to miss my flight today and also cancel all my hotel reservations as no one at the consulate was willing to help us in providing any update.

David Nisleit: This is ridiculous! Two month ago I applied for a short stay visa, and haven't heard back since! Can you believe that they hold my passport for two months without giving me any information? I don't even know what is going on. Is this legal?

Sreyas Sourav: Absolute trash, unbelievable visa processing times, passport still stuck.Don't apply visa for the country. Apply to some other country for schengen visa.

ELIBERTO FE-FRYE: I am a Permanent Resident of US and was applied for France Schengen tourist visa. Despite, I have provided all necessary documents, after 2 days later they send back my passport with a letter saying visa was rejected because I don’t give them a reason to travel I guess they don’t read or checks my document. Overall, you will spend time, money but finally you will get refused for no reason.

Marie-B CDA: Health measures are respected. They receive only by appointment.Nice Cafe/restaurant

Lisa K.: Always enjoy the events at the French Embassy. The food, wine, and service are always excellent. They usually have interesting music, and it's typically a fun crowd.

Anne HERMAN: We were at the consulate to renew four passports this morning. Great experience, people are really kind and helpful. They have done everything to be efficient. Thank you so much.
