Katie C: I had a wonderful experience with the sewing machine repair services here. I got a same - day cleaning and servicing of my Singer machine (which was gifted by my late grandmother). The kind man who helped me ( I wish I had gotten his name!) even gave me a few tips and oiled my walking foot for me when I explained it was squeaking. Quality service, and very kind. I will return here every time I need a sewing machine tune up.

Will Drake: Top notch work and great customer service. I have an 11 year old Dyson that still runs great, but needs to be tuned up or unclogged from time to time. Brothers does a fantastic job with a quick turnaround. Don't go anywhere else.

Donna Sheler: I hadn't had service for my 30+ yo Singer sewing machine in some time but it suddenly needed some repair help. Assane was a real pro who diagnosed my machine upon arrival taking it apart to see if he first could repair it, and then confidently confirmed it could be done. When I told him I had an inherited Bernina that I didn't know how to use, he offered to show me upon my return to pick up the Singer...and he did! What wonderful service! Thanks Assane and Brother's Sew & Vac.

Maddie Gill: Fantastic experience! I brought my sewing machine over because I thought I was experiencing an issue with the motor - turns out, it was my bobbin winder. Within a minute of showing them the problem, they identified where I was going wrong and how to fix it. No charge for the visit, and I walked away learning more in 10 minutes than hours online and on YouTube had been able to teach me. I will 100% come back!

Lara Drizd: Great place. They fixed my 1980s Viking sewing machine overnight and gave me tips on how not to break it again. :) Great customer service. Highly recommend!

stephen martell: I brought my Dyson in since it wasn't working properly on carpets. When I hastily cleaned it, I didn't realize I missed a spot which had a big chunk of debris decreasing the suction. The representative who helped me found it immediately, removed it, and the unit works fine again. As with a couple other reviewers who have posted, he didn't charge me anything. This is not my first time in this store and both times I have found them helpful and honest. I recommend them.

B Be: I have a beautiful computerized Brother sewing and embroidery machine that needed to be fixed as I was in the middle of sewing a dress and it died. I immediately looked online and discovered Brothers Sew and Vac here in Cleveland Park. From their great reviews, I decided to check them out. The staff was very friendly and well-versed in what was ailing my sewing machine. They even took some time to educate me on what the inside of my sewing machine looked like and the amount of work and expertise that goes into repairing them, while there during my first visit. You could tell that the staff here love what they do!! I got my machine back within a week or so of diagnosis and it is running like I just bought her!! (Thankfully they did let me know that my sick sewing machine was not a result of user error...just normal wear over time). Thank you for such excellent service! It’s now considered my sewing machine repair hospital now after such a wonderful experience. I don’t go anywhere else.

E Bacon: First online review of anything anywhere, that's how great these guys are. My vacuum brush stopped working and I brought it in only to find that there was a very easy fix. Jose showed me how to fix it next time and REFUSED TO TAKE ANY PAYMENT! Nicest shop in DC. Go here.

Barbara McKenna: I've been going to this store for 25 years to do everything from having my vacuum repaired and rebuilt, to buying used vacuums, to buying a brand new one last week (a Sebo K). My experience is always amazing. The owner is knowledgeable, really trustworthy and sometimes does minor repairs or fixes at no charge. He doesn't sell shoddy equipment, and if a manufacturer's quality declines, he is aware of it and guides you to a different solution. My last vacuum cleaner only lasted about five years, even after a major repair in year 4.Very frustrating. My new one will last 15 to 20 years. If it doesn't, I'll let y'all know. ;-)

K Keen: I accidentally sucked up some water in my vacuum and thought it was dead. After letting it dry out, I wanted to test it before buying a whole box of new vacuum bags. The gentleman working tested my vacuum and when it worked, sold me a box of bags at a better price than Amazon! He also fixed my vacuum wheel for free! Great service.

Julie Norcross: Stitch is an amazing place! I learned how to sew here, from super beginner all the way to advanced classes and jeans making. The selection of fabric and patterns is incredible, and I love the focus on natural fibers. The curation makes it far more enjoyable to shop than larger fabric stores. The staff is always super helpful and kind. I also LOVE how they now offer pattern printing! Makes buying PDF patterns super convenient! I only have rave things to say about Stitch!

I feel like they are the heart of the local sewing community and the staff here have helped me with fabric/sewing questions more times than I can recall. Maddie Gill: I love shopping at Stitch Sew Shop! I've visited both online and in-person, and their selection is top notch. They are also really helpful in explaining different fabric properties and notion uses, and since I'm a beginner sewist I really appreciate their insight. Their packages come within a few days, usually faster than Amazon! I look forward to visiting more and taking a class once the pandemic is over.

Ellie: I have been searching for a shop that specifically serves garment sewists in the DMV area and I think this is the one! This shop stocks a wide range of indie pattern designers, offers classes, fabric, notions, and will even print a PDF pattern for you on A0 paper- it's everything a sewist could want. When I visited, I was helped by an associate who helped me understand the difference between ballpoint vs. jersey. vs double needles for sewing knits. If you wonder what thread you need to match the fabric you're buying, they have a thread index where everything is pre-matched and they can recommend what color you should buy. My fabric purchase was kindly wrapped in tissue paper which is a marked difference in care and customer service from a large craft store. I anticipate visiting this shop frequently because not only do they have an excellent selection of fabric and notions, they have the expertise to help you make decisions on a project. I love knowing I can visit a shop that will have everything I need, rather than having all the component parts shipped to me.

C R: Wonderful team and such fun atmosphere. I took two classes with Cristian and he is very knowledgeable, patient and fun to work with. The store is very well organized with a large amount of sewing supplies. Their fabric is very beautiful and very fair priced. It’s a nice experience from the moment you walk through the door until you walk out. I highly recommend the classes, your time and money will be well spent. And you will support a local business rather than big corporations.

Danielle Arthur: I stopped by Stich Sew Shop with a friend. We both had small children with us. The staff was not only super friendly, but also very accommodating. I needed to change my daughter and both ladies in the shop were so kind in helping me find an easy, safe place to do so. Artemiza Kolacevska: I went on first time ever and saw a cute little scissors pin. The associate was not very helpful when I asked to get one ( didn’t know I could help myself?!?!) and told me that was the lady. Did not offer to sell it to me , so I asked to buy it. Not very happy and pleasant .... a friend told me I should have just walked out. Well, I didn’t and Zi did buy the LAST ( !!!!???) one. But I am NOT ever going back. I did not feel welcomed there. Too bad- such a nice location with unfriendly service.

Jessica Stoll: A little pricey but that's reflective of the quality. Great fabric, tools, and kits. Took a class and it was fantastic, also went in for a private lesson to help me figure out some sewing machine issues. Definitely recommend.

Elaine Cahoon: Super cute store! I love that things are curated and they carry full lines of more modern prints like ruby star society. They even started carrying some cute Japanese imports. Fat quarters everywhere. Lots of really nice blenders. Staff/owners were so nice and friendly.

Tris Eaton: When it comes to kindness, consistency, transparency, + positive energy (any feat that makes a business the best), Sew Magarbo has it all. The staff makes any experience positive. One is never disappointed in the services they offer. I brought my sewing machine here to be serviced and it felt like a brand new machine - I almost didn't believe it was the same machine I brought in prior. Precious, the owner, is very customer-oriented. She always makes me feel at home. I have signed up for many workshops that she has taught and led and I always have so much fun. Her bubbly and personable attitude is encouraging and I feel confident whenever I sew. I love this place!

Lynne Lott: After careful consideration of different sewing machines, I went to Sew Magarbo to check out theirs. It was a very good, low pressure shopping experience. But that is only part of the reason I purchased my machine there. The commitment to the purchaser was very important to me. I want to learn about all the cool features of my machine, and there are ample opportunities for learning at Sew Magarbo. Frequent classes, telephone support if needed, and a "club" for others who purchased the same machine as me were all super benefits. I feel comfortable asking newbie questions, and appreciate getting together with others who love to learn and share.

Rebecca Chadlen: I'd have to disagree with any negative reviews on Sew Magarbo. I recently purchased my Babylock Solaris from Precious and can confidently say that my experience was wonderful! Not only is Precious kind and upbeat, her staff was well-trained and knowledgeable about each machine I was interested in. The after-sales support is like no other! Purchasing my Solaris was daunting but Precious helped me get comfortable around my machine and mentioned that if I had any other questions to let her know. She simplified the machine for me and made me feel like sewing was a hobby again, not a chore. The studio is large, open, organized, and reflects the comfort of one's home. I enjoyed my experience at Sew Magarbo and would recommend anybody to buy a machine here!

LISA RAMOS: I have been a customer of Sew Magarbo for a few years. Their customer service, friendliness and professionalism are outstanding. Imagine my surprise when I read a review stating the manager was "aggressive" while communicating the rules and policies (clearly stated on their website) to a client that was not compliant. I have never heard or seen the manager or any employee speak to anyone in a disrespectful manner. Being firm about rules that protect their customers (especially during COVID) is what I would expect and appreciate as a parent for any child attending camp at Sew Magarbo. Being fully vaccinated and wearing a mask does not give you the right to break the rules. Perhaps you have not read (policies, news, etc) about COVID breakthrough cases being contagious. Entitlement and non compliance of COVID rules shows you have no concern about harming others. I would like to thank Sew Magarbo, its manager and employees for keeping us and our children in a safe environment.

Jeff Spencer: My wife and I have purchased at least 4 machines from Sew Magarbo in the last two and a half years. She is no less than superior in her capacity as a shop owner and manager. We have taken numerous classes from her and her staff as well. She consistently over delivers when she does business with us. This is the best sewing studio and shop in Northern Virginia.

Lindsay S: I really wanted to learn to sew but needed both the space (peace & quiet!) to do so and as a complete (adult) beginner, I knew I required individualized instruction. I am so happy I found Sew Magarbo and met Miss Precious! Over a year-long course my "sewing sisters" and I each worked on our projects at our own pace and had full access to Miss Precious' expertise and the studios amazing machines, plus an incredible selection of high-quality fabrics and notions. Precious and her amazing staff provided individualized, hands on, informative tips & tricks to guide us through our projects. It was something I looked forward to every week! I am so proud of my projects, even though my seams are a little off and the hems a bit uneven, it felt so great to accomplish something each week. But probably best of all, I met and was able to work along side amazing women from all walks of life (moms, retirees, millennials) each with their own level of expertise from beginners to experienced quilters and bond with them through a truly unique craft - an experience for which I am forever grateful. They say that "you attract what you are" and Precious has both the dedicated staff and awesome clientele to prove this.

Shagoura: Great selection of fabric, notions and thread! Helpful staff. Today I found a bargain: six spools of Mettler thread for $9.99. Ever since the store reopened after pandemic took hold, I've been there four times. Every time, the staff and customers have been careful about social distancing.

Carolyn Grant-Suttie: I’d never heard of Capital quilts until I did a search for quilt stores last August. I had also never made a quilt before then and had relatively limited experience sewing. Since then I have purchased a new sewing machine, taken the virtual complete quilting class, taken a Longarm class, completed 1 quilt and am close to completing my second one. I have also purchased supplies for two more quilts. I think I’ve been to Capital quilts about 9 times since August and every interaction I have had has been wonderful. Everyone is extremely helpful and patient (even when I’ve arrived close to closing time) and they really make me feel like they are rooting me on to succeed in making a quilt that I will love.

Cg Wall: Everyone seems nice here, but I paid $100 and dropped a machine off to be repaired around the beginning of January. I don't know what is wrong with it, but it just slowed down and stopped working, and my local place wouldn't fix any digital machines. I knew it would take a while, because of pandemic, but it has now been nine months and the only time someone has called me with an update is to ask me to pay for a part that was ordered sometime in Spring. Since then, I've called numerous times. At times, I've been told the part was taking a long time because of the pandemic. At times, I've been told that the part was there and the machine was being worked on. Then I've been told that they are still waiting for the part. The staff has always been polite, but at times they seem to be making stuff up to tell me. They usually ask me if someone can call me back to give more info, and I always agree, but no one ever has called me as far as I can tell. One time, I sat on hold for about fifteen or twenty minutes before figuring they forgot about me, so I hung up. Seems like getting this machine repaired here wasn't worth it. I still don't even know what is wrong with it. I should have just sold it for parts on ebay and saved the $100. Follow up: one day, after many months of waiting, I had a conversation with someone saying the machine was possibly unfixable and that they were looking for a comparable replacement machine, or I could come pick up the broken one. I asked for them to keep searching for a comparable machine because I’d invested so much time. Then, a few weeks after that I received a notice that my machine was ready for pickup. Same machine. Seemed to work fine. No explanation as to why it had been unfixable and now was suddenly fixed. I don’t know what happened, but I did get a working machine back, so kudos to whoever fixed it.
Response: I am so sorry you are unhappy with your experience. Parts for this machine were difficult to source. The original part we ordered (step motor) did take a long time; when it came in and was installed, we discovered that there were other problems. Ultimately, we purchased a donor machine and used many of its parts to rebuild your machine. We hope that your machine will now last many years.

Jessica Sabo: I bought my new Janome sewing machine at Capital Quilts, and it was a wonderful experience. I got my free lesson that came with the machine from Barbara, who was extremely knowledgeable and generous: I'm enjoying my machine so much more than I would have without her in-depth "tour" of all the features. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and they had all the extra supplies I needed to start my project.

Kimetha TURNER: I was in town and needed some supplies. The ladies are so helpful and knowledgeable everyone was friendly. I did feel “eyes on me” but i was unfazed it was more of us she in the right place type thing. I ended up in here 3 days in a row. I just couldn’t get enough! Thank you guys so much for the help. EllenM: I just spoke to a very nice person re questions about purchasing a machine and I'm impressed by the shop's array of fabrics so I looked at the class list. This is a quilting shop and I'm a hobby apparel sewer so I did not expect many if any apparel classes. I was happy to see that there was one beginner apparel class, however it is late in the year and the sessions have been going on for some time so registration is closed. Understandable. I'll check back and hope to see one or maybe even more apparel classes offered hopefully for intermediate sewers such as myself. 2020 UPDATE: Went into the store today by appointment to find a well regulated system in place to control covid and it was a pleasure to shop in a quiet, not overly peopled store where everyone wore masks and used hand sanitizer and social distanced. If only every store could be like that. There was a good choice of lovely fabrics and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Jessica Boada: Good prices but it needs better employees that really like to help . Today is 1/28/22 l was at walmart 2 days ago the skate boards were price 18.98. So today i go buy the skate the price is the same i get to ✔ out the guy goes the price is 29.98 im like no they are wrong so i asked him to fix honor the price he said he can not do it the manager comes show me a picture if you want the item i go take the pic waited in line again another cahier tried to help but the first cashier said no I have the transaction on hold. So i kept on waiting them it was only one person behind me and he said i cannot do it go to customer services. I go he said to customer i have a big line i was like really. Ok finally thay send me back to the manager and she did not ask for the pic or anything and charged me 29.98. But before this she said to the customer service do not come with that. Anyway she was not even wearing the mask properly she had it on her neck. I end up returning the item and got the price at customer service with a DIFFERENT cashier after 3 different lines. Pooooooooooor customer service specialty from the manager

taqueya spriggs: I experienced very poor customer service. My family and I shopped here for the first time a week ago and the cashier who rung the father of my children's items began yelling at him because he realized after placing his items on the belt that he forgot to pick up an item that he needed in the aisle. Thereafter, the cashier began shouting for him to return to the checkout counter to complete his transaction because the store was closing soon. I for one don't have a problem with store personnel explaining to me that I am unable to go back to the aisles to select additional items to purchase because closing time is vastly approaching, but it's how you talk to people. Not to mention store security personnel tried to intimate myself and the father of my children in front of them as if he wanted to arrest us. He also became antagonizing by ordering another patron nearby to pull out his phone to video record him throwing me out of the store when I had no involvement with the incident that transpired between the cashier and my significant other. I will never shop at this location again and retail workers should be mindful of their tone and demeanor with customers because my significant other was not being confrontational, disorderly, or destroying property after being publicly humiliated in front of everyone in the store for no apparent reason. This kind of behavior is shameful and despicable and I was mortified. I am a regular shopper of Walmart corporations and I spent a lot money that day and do not deserve to be treated like a common criminal. With everything going on in the world and due to poor customer service and lack of respect for others, I think retailers should convert their services over to online shopping. This way customers can still reap the benefits of shopping without the having to potentially endure poor customer service. In the future Amazon will get all of my business.

Keshia Wideman: The absolute worst customer service ever. The store manager Patrick is non responsive to the lack of professionalism and ethics of the staff concerning, customers concerns/complaints. They are definitely a representation of his leadership and it shows. He doesn’t follow up on cooperates complaints, and the store is not organized properly at times. They don’t honor price misplaced items, and the cashiers are sarcastic, and rude at times. Crystal has been there awhile and can be rude and dismissive. I had to address her , and others about their rude, unethical behavior.

Michael Perez: If Purgatory exists, this Walmart will be a level. The place was clean and had an organization known to them. Not like any I've ever visited (and I've had the pleasure...to visit more than a few) but I'm sure when you've done your penance of shopping here a few times you get used to it. What really sets this store apart from the others is the stylistic hell that is the checkout process. 7 lanes with at least 9 patrons each. Cashiers that appear to be participating in a slow-down strike (and if they are, my hat's off to them and their cause). And at least 3 arguments between customers that verged on World Star territory. I will say that the curbside personnel were a little more engaged in their work.

Meghan Elizabeth: Grey hair lady at self checkout needs to find a different job or just retire. There is no reason an employee, especially one of her age, should be treating customers so poorly and getting a major attitude at anyone who is just trying to find a register that is working. If machines need fixed they need to kindly tell people to wait. Not be rude, make a scene and glare at everyone who is waiting to checkout. Who lets these kind of people work here???? Please consider getting some kind employees for self checkout. 04/25/22 6:00 pm

Kev- keepingitreal: This Walmart offers Capital City Mambo Sauce, Fruits, Vegetables, Seafood, Poultry, Dairy and all sorts of Household Items. This Walmart needs to improve its Elevator services, only two out three of the elevators are working, it would be nice if they removed one of the elevator and replace it with stairs that lead customers from the parking garage to the street level and to Walmart store level for easy access. The current stairs only give customer access from the street level to Walmart store and no access to the parking garage. This Walmart includes a Pharmacy and free two hours of parking in the parking garage. This store has shopping carts available in the store and in the garage areas.

Mirka Mendez: It's Walmart, there are no grocery stores nearby (that I know) so it's an option. Smaller than the usual supercenter, very small produce section. There was an approximately 10 min wait at every registers when I visited.

PaulDavid Morado: Not exactly the best side of town. It is Walmart so all things that go with Walmart come along with this place. It's not close to any Metro station so be prepared for a walk is it on the other side of Chinatown. Excellent place for fruits and vegetables in all things grocery but be prepared also to bring your own bags as there seems to be carts missing

Aminah Imani: Its conveniently located but not the best Walmart to be in. The customers were loud and the security with large bullet proof vests doesn’t make it a welcoming vibe. Grab your products and head out quick. They do validate parking and leave patience for the slow running elevators. The employees were helpful and efficient. This location isn’t my preference but it gets the job done when in dire need.

Sassy Sauce: Mixed experience with this store. It’s a good location and there is parking available in the underground garage. First 2 hours are free. The store has items locked in a case that I couldn’t understand. For example, women’s underwear and some personal hygiene items. Also, the store wasn’t too crowded while I was there and the associate I asked to help me gave me clear directions as to what aisle the product I needed would on. The parts of the store I visited were clean and the overall shopping experience was ok. No major complaints. Just strange observations about profits being locked behind glass.

C. Zed: Well it exists, that I appreciate. I’ll continue to shop here. The cashiers scan items more than once, has already happened twice for me. The store is small and often too messy. The aisles are narrow, and the carts are way too big for the store. Many items are locked behind cases. Could be a better experience, especially for the closest location to the US Capitol.

Which is fine if you like to DIY but there shouldn't be so little cashiers that you turn the customers into employees and shoppers at the same time. Some people go shopping for the experience of the human interaction they have buying their things, having someone else ring it up is part of the experiences. Stop cutting corners your customers are not happy with it trust me

Van D Peluche: Terrible terrible. Twice I have ordered online groceries and the first time I did not get it until an hour later and the second time I didn’t get it until a day later than the scheduled period. Absolutely awful. Plus no one in any department answers phone calls. And their produce is very poor quality. May as well not even have the grocery delivery service. Will not even notify about orders being held for the next day.

Harriet Saulsbury: Love shopping at Walmart, some of the eorker are rude ask them a question they always say its not my department and walk away. Another thing as many seniors and disable people shopping there on a daily basis you only have maybe 10 electric scooters for the entire store which is a super store but you have maybe only 2 scooters working. You also took away your seating you have in the lobby of the stores where are we supposed to sit and wait on rides and family members to finish shopping?

VIRGINIA Parker: Very well stocked and clean associate ready to help you. Only one problem not enough cash register open to get the people out. But that's the problem in every store.

Dennis Watts: Just not your average blue Walmart for people who don't live in DC this is really unusual to see a Walmart on a city block and the color is not blue and white, it's made out of brick with a black logo that's pretty unusual

Wesley Pace: The workers are great and helpful. The only gripe is I see a lot of people who are much older and not as mobile that need scooters, and there aren't many for them, so they are often waiting for them. And if they opened more registers it wouldn't be sp crowded.

Adam Stoddard: You know you're in a good part of town when shaving cream and car electronics are kept under lock and key. Got passed around between several employees and then a manager before somebody could procure a key for a case. Same thing happened with another case. Suffice to say I was unable to completely suppress my inner Karen...

Arielle M. (Mermaid): This is the best Walmart in DC. I actually drive out the way to go to this walmart. They even have a better food selection than Giant. For Easter I found 48 count of empty eggs for 1.98!! Which is amazing because I would of spent way more if I went anywhere else!

Sarah West: A large mixed selection of items you can get any 3 for TEN DOLLARS. Selected high end new items are priced accordingly. Kids, mens, and womans apparel and shoes. Matthew Unger: The employees were fantastic and would be 5 stars, but not being able to not use yet another app makes for a poor customer experience that part I would give a 1 star, but I don't want to hold what seems like a wonderful store to a corporate specific issue. I cannot say enough good things about the employees that helped me and even apologized for a company wide corporate issue.

Jennifer Bowling: No shopping carts. Waited a long time and eventually just went back down to the parking garage to get one myself. The shelves were very disorganized in some areas and a lot of out of stock products. And the lines were very long. The cart escalator was broken and both elevators had orange signs indicating they were not safe for use, but were still being used.

Reanna Rousseau: I have to say very disrespectful management at this location. The staff was lovely and helpful but the short light skin women manager with the face piercings, with her mask underneath her nose gave me the worst experience I have ever had at goodwill. Her regional needs to have her replaced ASAP. You can’t make your own rules at your store that’s not in policy. You can get fired for things like that and she must be reported. This is a store where they take free items and mark them up for “Goodwill” to sell to the people in the community who can’t afford the regular priced items. If you are over pricing the item you are basically doing a disservice to the community.

Lea Sumlin: On. April 30. A beautiful morning. I decided to donate things, I don't need. My family and I went to the South Dakota location. When we got there, a light skin colored girl with glasses as the manager was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL We did not get a Good Morning. She WAS VERY UNPLEASANT with her Approach. "We're not open yet, did you hear me and we line up over here. I never opened my mouth but after her unprofessional way of speaking. I ask, " do you WORK here. "Am the manager". She is NOT MANAGER PROFESSIONAL. We left. I Googled Salvation Army on Kenilworth Ave. They were open and VERY PROFESSIONAL AS WELL. THANKS SALVATION ARMY. Zh Ie: Purchased online from this location. The staff was amazing on checking the condition of the item after purchase, and as an added service on their end, they sent a few extra close-ups even after I had purchased, which was not necessary, but so appreciated that they thought to do that. Above and beyond service, and extremely customer-service oriented.

Andrew Patricio: Bizarre. Don't bother going here to donate anything except kitchen stuff or toys, (except baby toys they won't take). On the website it says they take clothes, furniture, etc and they used to but no longer for some reason. Any even toys they won't take anything "a baby can sit in". Ie no bounce toys, push bike etc. Wasted my time twice in a row. Never again. Just go down the road to salvation army or even better, the value village thrift store.

Kim Barr: I found some lovely things there the staff was very helpful and definitely check out the colors of the week sales. I was able to get a 15.99 suit for 3.99 because of the colors of the week sale.

Team World: Caĺled them numerous times over several weeks for pick up of lots of veey good clothes and furniture. I am leaving the country. They never called back.- couldnt be bothered apparently. SHAME on you, Goodwilll, aren't you supposed to serve the disenfranchised????

Janice Burrell: Called and asked if they accept books. The guy told me they did. When I got there the guy told me they were at their capacity for books. It was more like he didn't want to do the work to check them in. Every time I go there it is always a problem. They should tell you these things when you call. Since they don't I can only conclude that it's just a lazy employee. Extremely poor customer service.

solomon asefaw: I am writing this review to let Goodwill undermines its gools when it doesn't follow up its workers at the receiving and dropping gate of this location. Today at around 3:35pm when I came to donate, I was harassed by one Of the stuff at the gate. Goodwill should place professional stuff at the dropp of gate before it too late.

Franklin Owens III: I was there for clothing… but I can never pick out clothing in a thrift store, so I left with books. The store was well organized though. I tend to be a bit uncomfortable buying items out of thrift stores. I didn’t care much for the clothes. But there were other items in the home section were really nice. Everyone was nice in the thrift store. Even when I gathered a cart full of books and then realized I couldn’t use my clothing voucher on books😬😅

bluslushii: Been to multiple Goodwills, the staff was by far the most helpful and I honestly received the best customer service I did at any business. Definitely will be returning! Thank you so much ladies for being so kind and helpful!

Hillary Wehrle: I like supporting small business so I've signed up for a sewing class (already happened- great) and a server class yet to come. Their class process are reasonable for what you get. However, during the sewing class my needle broke in two and the price of 4 needles was at least double the price I pay in the garment district. I know small business has to charge more, but more than double?
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed your Quick Start Machine Sewing class. As for the needles we sell 2 different brands at different prices. They also come in a 5 or 10 pack. We try to price competitively. What brand were they? There are differences in price and quality between brands. Also did you get the chrome , titanium or plain universal. Sometimes it can get confusing. We're always happy to help advise the right needle for the job. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. crecencia adonia: This place is the worst,I took my sewing machine for repair at this place the had me back ,and forth with my machine the machine was never repair proper way. The machine never works the right way, when I asked for my refund ,I was told I could not get a refund. My money was stole from me.
Response: We guaranty all of our work. Your machine was repaired in May 2021 with a 90 day written guarantee on all the work done. You came back December 2021 4 months past the warranty. We looked at and adjusted the machine while you waited at no charge and showed you what happened. You then brought the machine back in early February 2022 with a broken button hole lever. Not the original problem and six months out of warranty. You had a large cone thread on the machine that was getting caught on the machine due to the size of it and causing the thread to bind, tighten and damage the lever beyond repair. We showed you this and explained to you that a cone thread must be fed straight up to avoid damaging the machine. You yelled at me and demanded your money back. We will always help everyone. I'll even do adjustments and service at no charge under the right circumstances. I would have liked to have helped you but due to the age of the machine the part is not available to order. Aside from the button hole the rest of the machine is working perfectly. We tested every stitch with you until you were satisfied. You left the store yelling at me demanding a refund. I tried very hard to satisfy you. I wish I could have.

Cleopatress Altieri: It is a really nice sewing shop! The staff is friendly and will answer all your questions. They can sit with you and demo a machine, help you choose one that is right for what you need and within your budget. They repair machines and have a vast supply of excellent threads and cute quilting fabric. If they are out of stock on a foot or something you need for your machine they can order it for you. The new owner, Steve, even offered to carry my machine out to the car for me. How nice! He didn't have to do that, he owns the place, but he did cuz he cares. Maryanne is my go to for Serger information. Lori has helped me before and is equally delightful. I come here from Westchester, I used to come here from Washington Heights when I lived there and then Bronx when I lived there. I don't get to go as often as I like or spend as much as I want but they always treat me the same whether I spend a dollar or not. Can't recommend this place enough, best resource for city sewists/sewers/people that sew and for people that dont know how and want to learn. They will treat you Sew Right!

Meg: My go-to spot for sewing machines, repair and overall expertise. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Bought my beloved Bernina here and have also taken classes with Laurie. Highly recommend!

Angela Calitri: Walked in the front door, was greeted by the owner, let him know what I was looking for, found the perfect machine and was out the door in less than 15 minutes. He was extremely helpful and informative. Their inventory was extensive and prices were very competitive. I purchased the machine for my sister and she couldn't be happier. Without a box or receipt in hand, we brought it back to see what may be possible to do. Associates TK, Nicole S, and Anton were able to use the debit card used to purchase to look up my receipt to get our return sorted. We so appreciate them going truly above and beyond to show us their compassion and excellent customer service.

Shayna Deverman: Dirty, unorganized, extremely low stock on everything. Items thrown everywhere, picked over. Shoe isle was a disgrace. Nice they have an “Ulta”, but very limited items. Took me several minutes to figure out where body wash was. Haircare, travel, makeup is all grouped together in the front/middle-like typical but body wash/deodorant was clear on the end of the store. Terrible flow. All that looking and they had very limited washes! Men’s selection had more to choose from. Went in there with a very basic list and got one thing on it… my nearest Walgreens was more helpful…disappointing since I love me a Target trip. I won’t be back to this one.

Most people do self checkout bc line passes fast, so don't be intimidated if it's long. Idk choose your adventure. Shoe section looks a litttle crazy in the afternoons, but that's consistent with the behaviors/type of people who live here lmao. Moving too fast, not putting stuff back, lowkey entitled ahaha

Thomas Nali: NO PARKING VALIDATION Poor inventory. This is on a regular old Monday. I asked for the product I was looking for, they checked in the back, and said it was too hard to get to and another employee would work on it, but they don’t know how long it will be. This was at almost noon. Look at how few dairy products are on the shelf. Staff continued to prove unhelpful. I asked four different employees where a type of product was and they each told me to find someone who worked in that dept. OR they just told me they “probably don’t have it” WITHOUT even looking or bothering to find where it should be!! They tried to walk off but I said I am not satisfied until we find the shelf where it should be, and I’ve been looking for fifteen minutes. Took all of that to get some help finding one little thing.

Ted Socha: Ever since this Target added self-checkout, they've relied solely on it. At most, they open only one regular checkout line if self-checkout gets long. Better off going to the CVS across the street. 10/7/19 update: this place either needs to solve their self-checkout problem or open up more than one regular cash register

Sade Wilson: I was shopping today at the Washington D.C target store and was purchasing gift for my family I found some nice things and for a really good price. I went to check out and the items were ringing up different from what the price was upstairs I explained to the cashier he called for a manager. The manager name tiffany came and refuse to change the price the for two of the items but change it for the other too items. I continue checking out because I didn’t want to wait to long after I was done checking out I went upstairs to take pictures to show the manger she still refuse and walk away.

Donna Walker: Buyers we aware the prices in Target are going up every week and its terrible and make sure you know the prices of your items because the shelf price and the register price can be different at times. Security was following me for no reason so I had t let him know you are following the wrong person. I catch more people stealing at Target and I do not work there. Also, some of the employees are so rude. I will be recording my conversations with the employees when I need to ask for help as proof of how rude some of them can be.

Myi Oui: this was my first time at a pawn shop so i was nervous but it was quick and friendly service. sold my items and received cash for it and it didn't take more than about 20 minutes. if you don't want to deal with the hassle of selling online just come in here and get cash in hand, ofc you're not going to get nearly as much as if you sold it yourself online but if that doesn't bother u much this is a great place to go.

Derek Dissell: I purchased a watch at $900+ and wore it maybe 5-7 times. The band started fraying and I requested that they try to glue it back since a watch in good condition shouldn't have such serious issues so quickly. They flatly refused and therefore lose my business going forward

Francis Jafari: I have been to many pawn shops throughout my life! I’m a bit of a junkie for them. I love shopping there and finding great things for great prices. I will say crown pawn shop is by far the best I’ve ever encountered! Everyone there is so amazing and willing to help anyway they can! Just ask for mike and he will drop what he’s doing to help. He has always been fair and given me the best deals and gives top dollar for all my items. They also have a female staff member, mrs Jessica who has extensive knowledge of jewelry and can really help you with all questions you have and will work with your budget to help send you home with the ring or watch you desire! All in all this is a 5 star pawn shop and I would recommend it over and over again, so make it your first stop if you’re looking for great deals and great staff!!!

Sassy Sauce: This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. There is parking under the store and it’s accessible using the escalators or elevator. There is a Starbucks as well. It’s a great store to visit!

Amreen Shafiuddin: poorly managed target.. no one knew answers for anything. customer service was poor. stocking issues in all the aisles. boxes everywhere.. the food items especially bread section don’t have best before stickers on them. when questioned, they just saw each other faces. poorly managed.

Tracie: Pros: Near my home. New store. Available parking structure. Decent customer service. By decent i mean - I haven't had a negative experience with the customer but no one has gone above and beyond helping me. Cons: Generally feels empty. Yet every time I enter the store i notice staff are in the middle of restocking and have crates of things in the middle of the hallways blocking the pass way. This was even before covid so not sure whats going on (pictures shown from Dec 2021). Also, doesn't appear to be a parking attendant so anytime anyone lost their ticket, their is chaos trying to get out. Finally, prices seem a little higher than other targets, i get the sense that because its smaller things are limited and maybe marked up? Or maybe its just inflation and the whole food chain/ports being a hot mess.

Mysiki X Valentine: Whoa! Let me begin on a positive. There is a cashier (older Black woman) Joan, who is the most pleasant staff worker. However, the younger staff can often be found tucked away on phones, having side conversation and etc..so finding help is always difficult. In addition, the customer service could never be described as friendly. But it does not end there, this is one of the worst Target’s I’ve ever went shopping. The store shelves stay empty. I recently order Beats headphones online for pick-up, I was emailed saying my order was ready—but when I got to the store the manager cancelled my order, stating the item was not in the store. Long behold, I walked to the back and there sat 3) pairs of the same item I came to pick-up. Her attitude was out of this world, I couldn’t believe she worked in customer service. No matter what time of the day, the aisles have carts full of products yet to be put away. Makes the store seem chaotic and disorganized. If it’s a quick stop, I’d advise going elsewhere. Looking to do serious shopping, never stop here. To end on a positive the food section is normally well stocked and presented nicely.

Kareem Carter: Lets start by saying I am appreciative of having a Target in this area of DC. The parking facility is safe and well lit, the store was reasonably stocked and clean. My gripe is with the professionalism of the management and the completely ineffective way they run the checkout line. they funneled everyone through one line and when several customers skipped the single line and went straight to the register, they were allowed to do so.....causing frustration to the other customers in the line. This was brought to the lead employees attention and she sarcastically dismissed my frustration. They should really signage up on how the checkout line works!

Erin Truax: I have been to this Target a few times because it is the most convenient for me (and parking is easy) but I always leave feeling very frustrated. There are constantly boxes of inventory waiting to be unpacked that are blocking the aisles and many shelves are often missing product. I have shopped at different times and on different days, but this seems to be on ongoing issue for this location. If you’re able, I recommend a different location.

J Por: Went in for some quick toys for my nieces and nephew. Turned in to their Loss Prevention racially profiling my partner, and followed us around the store the entire time for 60 dollars worth of merchandise, part of which, we had to find an employee to get. We initially went in to make a return, and unfortunately had the idea to shop the last bit of our list. Workers letting people (guy in a blue hoodie was wearing a red shirt so possible employee?) walk around without a mask even though DC has a mandate, and the stores inventory is always in the way. Should have been more concerned following him to give him a mask instead of two people who were in your store less than 25 minutes. Overheard an employee talking about managers asking the team to get tested because of a potential positive employee. Overall, the worst experience I’ve had by far. I’ve been a consistent customer for three years, but no more. This location is best avoided. Trust me.

livingmytruth 2: Joan has the best customer service ever. I came in this location with my 98 year old grandma and she made my grandma feel sooo good and proud and she really has a positive attitude. Thank you for making my grandmother’s shopping experience so pleasant . I will actually make this my home store now because of her pleasant demeanor

Aaron Blackmon: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go to a Walmart that is all red and has Target signs? Well wait no longer! This will fit the bill. The validated parking is a mess. The store is never stocked but simultaneously stocking everything at once and the lines are NEVER open. I only went there after learning my initial lesson months ago because it’s so close and I wanted to get a few things but even still it wasn’t worth it.

Chris Todd: The staff inside the store were friendly and helpful. However, the parking attendant was about as useless as a square wheel. I wanted to recharge my car. The sign in front of the chargers read "See attendant to activate". This dude was just sitting in his car. He refused to get up and wave whatever card he needed to wave to unlock the charging station. He didn't even acknowledge me other than saying "Uh". I tried activating the station with my SemaConnect app, but the station was locked out. I'm sure this Target is great, but I wouldn't come here in an EV because the dude who runs the chargers can't be bothered to get out of his car to do his job.

Connor Black: My friend is a former employee at this establishment and I decided to post this on their behalf to protect their anonymity. First off, HR is prone to scheduling shifts at horrible times with little regard for the time you will have between shifts. Now this could be fixed if HR was more present and was available to talk about shift scheduling and issues that arise from how they do it. Secondly, the General Manager is very aggressive with their style of management. They often are talking down to people and attempting to single them out for ridicule or to give attitude to. They also have zero regard for a worker's wellbeing or health, instead putting the business before the people who have to make sacrifices for it. If you ever do call out and the GM answers, be prepared because she will try to gaslight you and talk you out of whatever your legitimate reason for not being able to come in is.

Portia Massado: I was a former employee there and the reason why I left was for a career choice and also because of the GM Jemima Canage. Jemima Canage is THE WORST GM to work for the company. Target is her LIFE and if your in school or have a second job PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. Control freak YES she is. Jemima will over work you and will not give gradititude in return unless your a male that work in her store. She talks very mean and nasty to associates like they are nothing to her. I even had an incident where she yelled and charged herself at me like I was a child. It made me very very upset and if another manager wasn’t present I would of lost my job for walking out due to Jemima poor management skills. I even had customers come in and complain about how rude and mean she is. She also like to try to undermind people like they lack common sense. She recently fired someone for no apparent reason at all. She forced that man to come to work sick after expressing that he wasn’t feeling well. And he called the ambulance for himself just to prove to Jemima that he was sick. And in the process of her firing one person she lost 8people from that store. Even her ASM left because of her, 3LPs, and 4 associates. And right before I started 6months ago the original associates that were there had already gave the new people the rundown of Jemima Canage and how much they hated her and how she acts towards her employees. She doesn’t onow how to humble herself or treat people with REPSECT. She demands it then earning it or giving it back in return. And the nexr person she raises her voice at WILL NOT be as nice cause trust me I was VERY VERY ANGRY about it. Please get rid of that bad engery in that store. I feel sorry for all the people that are still there.

Kerry Delf: Small but fairly well provisioned food section, with both snack foods and some home groceries, heavy on the convenience foods. Prices are high but better than other stores in the area. Conveniently open until 11 p.m. on Saturdays, in an area where other stores close at 9 or 10, but it closes earlier on other days of the week. Free parking with store validation. Downside: Service was sparse and heavily dependent on self-service—there were no employees on the floor helping customers, and of three employees around the checkout counter, only one was operating a register, quite lackadaisically.

Peyton Doyle: Great small format Target in a really accessible part of Cleveland Park (and just steps from the Metro stop). Impressed with their selection of fresh foods. Nice home goods section too. Unique underground store. Really friendly employees! I will certainly be back.

Daniel: Right off the metro so it's convenient, not to mention, definitely bigger than you'd think. They took the investment of digging underground for the store (kind of like their NYC Tribeca location) and it definitely paid off. Validate parking when you leave since there's a lot attendant and a gate... no joke. Prices upscale for the location, but they had what I needed and would probably visit again.

Larry Gamble: I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the surroundings is a very beautiful place with a lot of awesome deals! it was a very nice experience for people are just super awesome everybody was all friendly and lot of excitement going on just keep it in the parking lot list fire I loved it

Lindsay Cooper: Purchased baby food online that was listed as in-stock. Received notifications that it was ready to pick-up. My husband went to pick it up and not only did they not have our order, they didn't have the product in stock. My husband then decided to purchase other items while he was there and was followed closely around the store by security so much that he had to ask the person to back off. I called Target HQ and they confirmed that the order was ready for pick up. I'll be going back to Amazon after this experience.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: It is Very nice and very clean. It is small in size, but they've got everything from groceries to clothes and electronics. It is conveniently located near the red line Cleveland park metro station, and bus ( L1, L2) stop. when you walk in this location, it looks like you're at a duty-free shop at an airport. It is also a quick 5 minute walk from the zoo.

M P: Free parking but you MUST get your ticket validated in store. Great for quick Target run. You can always find helpful employees and if you don’t see what you are looking for ask and they’ll get it in stock. Great manager. Super clean store. Perfect location.

Edward Holman: I’ve been coming here since August and they are rarely ever stocked, even when the website says items are in stock. Target needs to find a better way for the in-store inventory to better communicate with the website inventory and keep the shelves stocked. I don’t think it’s a individual store problem, rather a problem with Corporate. I will rate this Target 3 stars because of the floor associates. They are always nice and go above and beyond to help out. Kudos to them!

Yessenia C: This location is conveniently closer to my home than other targets however their product availability is limited. I believe this is an express version of Target. They have small electronics, clothing, market, and home sections. The health, beauty, personal hygiene section is pretty large. Once you know what they do and don't carry it's easier to know what you can purchase there. But it's always clean, good customer service.

MAC Cover: This review deals only with drive up services at Georgia Ave. and Eastern Ave. store in Washington, D.C. Due to a physical impairment another collects my pick up orders. I would not be writing this review if the incident happened once but several times is too much to handle. This location isn't set up for drive up because they constantly leave items out of your order but charge your card. Either Target has someone working drive up who can't read, see, or both. Recently, placed drive up order for paper towels and other items. Got notice from app order was ready which included the paper towels. When order arrived had all items except paper towels which was a huge disappointment. Okay called customer service to make them aware of the hiccup, paper towels were included in total order, charged to my card, but not with my other items. As usual, phone rang and rang but no answer. Finally, customer service answered next day. I explained about missing paper towels, gave order number and got no help. It was like talking to someone from outer space. Young lady said I had to prove I ordered the paper towels. I told her it was a drive up order, gave her my order number, and advised her that store could pull up my order as well. Got no where with customer service, asked to speak to manager, didn't happen, so stressed, had to hand phone to another to talk on my behalf. Still don't have paper towels I already paid for. Not only do they leave items off orders, they stuff a bunch of heavy items in one bag making it awkward to carry. Please check your bags before leaving this location and if you want to avoid a stressful drive up experience, shop Wheaton/Westfield mall location, much better. Target is still my go to store but not this particular location for drive up service.

Dimitri Ivanoff: It's about 1/3 in size of regular Target. Has a fresh produce & meats section, basic grocery items, cleaning supplies plus some clothing, beauty, electronics. Right now (April 2021) mostly serves on-line orders & curbside pickup. Parking is at the back of the store, but there's entrance from Georgia Avenue. Self service at this entrance almost empty while one at the back has waiting line. Pricewise it's inline with Giant, even some groceries could be cheaper.

Dorie Kane: This is a "mini Target" so keep in mind you can't expect it to have the inventory of the large stores. That said, I go there for essentials and typically find what I need (including hair care products which many have complained about). Staff - including security - are overall nice and helpful. Like another reviewer I did find they were unable to place an order for me - I needed a different size and wanted to apply the credit to an order. They have me a refund and I placed the order myself online. I guess there are some things smaller stores can't do but I do like this one for its convenience when it comes to basics.

Janice Temple: This Target Store is well-lit with wide aisles. I went there on a Sunday evening. Some of the shelves were empty from Saturday shoppers. I wanted to buy Figi Water but they were sold out. I am impressive by the organic selection of groceries. The parking was plentiful the day and time that I went.

SW: Neat small Target. However the security there is awful!!!! Everytime I’ve visited there is a security guard (man with National jersey) following me and whoever I visit the store with. I live in the area, so I frequent this store a lot. Mind you he is not clever with the following. He straight goes to whatever aisle I am in. This makes me not what to use this Target

Bryan Cortez: Don't understand the negative reviews? This is a smaller Target, of course you won't have everything you have at a regular Target - but it has all the essentials. Need milk? eggs? chicken? They have it. Need a spare shirt, or pair of pants? They have it. Need some airpods? Need a spare controller? Maybe you need shampoo, or medication? Target has it. They have all the essentials you need all in this store. Seriously, if you want to know if they have something before you come - use the Target app, it'll be your best friend on each Target Run. This store was definitely needed in the area! Prices are very fair, compared to other retailers nearby. Very clean, organized ---- and the best part are the employees - Very helpful!

dontec H.: I was just in my neighborhood store to purchase Goodfellow t-shirts. My preferred size wasn't available. I went to guest relations for assistance. She called over a Manager for assistance. I asked if he knew when the t-shirts would be back in stock. He said the store didn't do the ordering. The company sends over inventory based on their sales, etc. . He said one pack would be sent over in L in a few days. I needed medium. I asked if the Store Manager was in store. He let me know the Clothing Manager was on duty. The clothing manager came over and I explained my need for a medium size. He went to check the shelf. He returned to let me know that the item wasn't on the shelf and is a high theft item. He then said he doesn't know when they'd be coming. He was talking to me very loudly to the point that other customers could hear our conversation. I asked him when the Store Manager would be returning. I let him know that he was speaking to me in an elevated tone and I was standing in front of him. He then said that he was the store manager. Target has employees that lie and render poor customer service to paying shoppers.

Bhavika P: Most affordable, stocked and interesting store. You'd find anything and everything here at all times. It's priced very well and can be said to cater to everyone. Fresh produce is on point with quality. Clothing and accessories are well organized. The clearance items are of average quality but at super low prices. Kids clothing is a find here, adorable and affordable.

Rebecca Chapman: This is the best Walmart I have been to. The location is great! The store is kept clean and stocked. It feels like you’re in a target not a Walmart when you’re shopping here. You can find what you need instead of the shelves being empty. If you have any trouble finding an item you can find an employer easily and they know which aisle to direct you to. The employees are friendly. They have a lot of self check out registers so they’re usually not a wait in line. I recommend this Walmart! It’s an elevated experience to other Walmart.

Kathleen Lovett: This place is a fever dream. First, my friend and I walk in and and we're ambushed by an associate who wouldn't stop talking to us about the Walmart rewards program. The layout of this Walmart made no sense- the gun section was next to the kids toys which was next to the "garden" section. We were easily lost in this overestimating environment. Parents were screaming for their children, who were running through this maze of madness playing with basketballs and showing no regard for their wellbeing. Even the associates looked lost, with no escape. When trying to leave the establishment, the parking lot was like a battle ground. We barely made it out with our lives. It was almost as of they didn't want us to leave without signing up for Walmart+. If you wish to keep your sanity, shop at Target, Giant, anywhere but here.

Rashmi Khatuja: This is a big supercenter we opt for our weekly grocery. The stock is usually up to date and well maintained. They now have 8 parking places dedicated for free pick ups. The staff is helpful and very courteous. Keeping all the fresh vegetables and fruits, it makes our shopping easier. The clearance section too usually displays some great stuff. Another thing I noticed in this particular Walmart is that the price of dairy and other fresh products is lesser. This definitely attracts a lot of crowd to this one.

d green: As I was leaving the store I watched a clerk kick a handicapped man out of one of the electric wheelchairs I had to actually tell the person I saw what they did. Honestly I could reveal more about the situation but suffice to say I'm not buying baby food for people from that Walmart
