Right Proper Brewing Company: what do users think?

Jacob Lewis: Fish and chips, if it’s on the menu I take it as a review challenge. “Oh I see you fish and chip. Challenge accepted.” I say. I lost. New favorite fish and chip. It’s here, come and get it in the nation’s capitol at Right Proper Brewing Company. And the beer? Well I’ve had so many favorites in different locales. I came here because it’s the highest rated brewery in DC proper. And I agree the three I tried were very good. Nothing weird about the flavors, no hints of awkward brew prep practices manifested into the beer. 🤙🏽 I need to speak about the QR code menu/ordering thing they have going on. I hate it. The servers were confused, I was confused. It’s not fast food. I came here to be waited on. Get rid of the thing where you make me do the work. It undercuts your employee’s gratuity. Location: just north of downtown in a thriving neighborhood with loads of brick. More brick than you’ll ever see on the west coast in any one day, it exists here in this neighborhood. It’s a bustling neighborhood, lots of pedestrians all day passing. It should feel like a quiet side street but there’s constant flow of traffic. Nice place to feel immersed if only for an hour.

catch_hug: Outstanding beers! Try the sour and the saison, finish with the porter. Food was authentic and good spiced. Waiter fulfilled compliance but not more, not very attentive but nothing to complain about either. Can recommend this place for great beers and good food. Money for value very ok.

Ben Multak: Beer here is quite good. I also enjoyed my fish tacos. I will say their outside could use some shade. That is all. Also I like that they use Toast Tab. Service was really quick and seamless.

Liberti Robinson: Vibe: Really chill and the staff is super friendly. We were checked on multiple times by our server and she made good drink recommendations. Food: Wings were great! The full dozen is the way to go. They cook their burgers exactly how you request. The chicken sandwich is a firm no. And the reason for only 4 stars. This is the second time my husband had ordered it and both times it was extremely disappointing. The sandwich isn’t seasoned at all, so it’s pretty much a chicken breast not seasoned, in unseasoned breading. Now the Brussels. You will not find better Brussels anywhere else. If you eat here make sure you order these, they will not disappoint! Overall though Right Proper gets a 7/10 from us.

Jonathan Fisher: If you want to be served with the assistance of a robot (phone and such) this might be a little easier. May e they don't have much staffing for the lunch crowd and we had an unlucky day. It is a second visit and perhaps the beer-infused experience would be more fun. Cleaning of tables and smells of the place could use a little work. But we will be back. As a group, it is an alright place to get together, and their food is decent for the price.

Travis Nelson: Nice vibe and easy ordering system that makes this a great stop for friends. We decided to swing in on a whim after brunch. Ordering is done based on the table number and QR code so it is super easy to get what you want quickly and not be slowed down with waiting for the server to pass by. Really neat venue that allows for easy conversation and plenty of drinking.

Josh Wray: Great friendly place. Woman owned business. Quickly sat, and ordering was easy. Food and drink delivered to the table in under ten minutes. Very fast. Senate beer is a nice light lager, great for after a nice afternoon on the national mall. Burger and fries was filling and delicious.

A Z: We got food and beers before a local event. Beer selection was nice & also had the option of doing a half glass. I was really impressed by the food. Flavors and freshness was excellent. Highly recommend if you want a casual bite to eat with a few drinks. service was friendly and mobile ordering was easy to use

McKenzie Westbrook: The best fish tacos I have ever had! The staff was helpful, funny, kind, and very professional. I can't express how happy I am that I found this place at random! The lunch special was more than enough and it included a glass of beer! I am already planning my next trip and bringing friends!

Joel Napol: Pretty decent beer, friendly bar service. Was sitting at a table off to the side with my wife (on a slow Saturday evening) and took my feet out of my shoes (out of view from the other bar patrons) for literally 2 minutes to relieve my recently surgically repaired fractured foot, when a rude, short employee approached me and curtly exclaimed: "can we keep our shoes on?" She immediately spun on her heels and retreated to the bar, not even giving me the courtesy of a response/explanation. F that. Good beer, nice ambiance, rude employee(s?)

Capitol City Brewing Company: what do users think?

Elizabeth Long: Oh man, the food here was so great. We ate until we were absolutely stuffed. The service was excellent. I was also really impressed by how fast the food came out.

Joseph Wilson: The service was great, the food was delicious, and my partner liked the beer. The atmosphere of the bar was nice in a slightly sophisticated kind of way, and there was plenty of seating. I have one small complaint in that I wish they didn’t charge so much for a salad. I didn’t order a salad though, so maybe they’re huge?

Hilda Kroll: Most restaurants greet their customers with a few words of welcome and a smile. Not here. The Walnut and Apple salad was good, with chicken hot off the grill, although I had to hunt to find some Bleu cheese. Stephanie was my server and was very nice, but I just felt uncomfortable here and won't be going back.

C Yager: Nice brewpub, Excellent bar service, small taplist, bonus that they have a guest tap list as well. The Kolsch was very good, burger was fine, fries were very good , crisp and not greasy. Atmosphere was nice , limited hours during the week, closes early (9pm)

Melissa Marie: The beer was very good. I got the Turkey Club with fries. It was okay, but I probably should have chosen a different item. It was busy, but I did not have to wait. Staff was great.

Corey: Stopped here for lunch after visiting fords theater. The restaurant was clean and staff friendly. That said the food was lack luster and prices high additionally for a brewery they had almost none of their own on tap and a very limited tap list. An ok spot but far from a favorite.

Alexander Herbert: They do flights, ask them about it. The burgers were great. Apparently old bay seasoning is a big deal in this area of the country, so we were sure to get some. The wings did not disappoint.

T J: This place has gone completely downhill since the pandemic. The food is overpriced and absolutely disgusting! I ordered a "fish" taco and have NO clue what I've eaten - other than perhaps plastic/cardboard. See for yourself. Service is slow - even on a slow day in DC with most still working from home...unbelievable.

Rahul Panchal: Very city type look with bright lights and good ambience, we tried their flight which is 5 shots of draft beer and H&11Rickey cocktail. Out of all draft IPA was good and cocktail was worth as well. Definitely worth visiting for the ambience and choice of cocktails they carry.

J S: Nice place well located at a corner close to a lot of woth visiting places of washington DC. Lenghty and spacious bar. A dozen of drafts from 7$. Not too much expensive for the location : burgers 11-15$, salads 10-15$... friendly staff

Red Bear Brewing Co: what do users think?

William Archer: Very close to a metro stop and filled with thoughtful design, delicious drinks, and a curated board game selection. Only had beer and cocktails but was very happy with the entire experience. If I lived closer I would be here all the time meeting people, playing board games, and drinking from the big drink selection. So many small cool touches in how they decorated and designed the space!

Dude Mertens: Easy to reach (about 5 Minutes walk) by Bus (90, 92) or Metro (Red line) is a point to enjoy this Brewpub. You'll not have the one and only favorite beer. Each visit is good for a different one. They offer a great selection of food, for me the Ceasars Salat was the best.

David Cho: Great food, decent beer and average service. Let’s start with the good. Food was amazing! Above par when it comes to bar food. Some of the biggest wings and chicken strips I’ve ever seen. I’m not a big fan of chicken strips. They are usually too dry and don’t have the best crunch, but these were different. Like eating really good fried chicken without the bones. Great flavors too. Wing sauces are a bit confusing and really not a lot of help based on their on line ordering. Some of the crew would stop by and ask if we needed anything, but others really didn’t do much or were down right rude. The beers were ok. Good enough to wash down the food, but none really stood out enough to recall. Definitely a place to try for the food and maybe the beer rotation will get better

Lisa McCullough: Delicious! Love the variety of beers, try ordering 2-3 5oz beers to try the different flavors (which rotate often!). For a fabulous and filling vegan meal, order the mushroom burger, sub gluten free (and vegan) bun for brioche bun, add vegan Gouda and an impossible beef patty. + comes with the side of your choice (salad, French fries). Yum!!

Jaclyn Barrientes: Came here for the first time it was really nice. Beers were good, as was the food. It definitely had a friendly vibe and I'm looking forward to coming here again. It had lots of open space, and communal tables. You can also buy merchandise to take home if you really liked the beers.

J Foodgeek: Nice brewery. The wings were good but they shorted Us One Wing in one of our two orders. I liked krampus on draft.

Jordan Richardson: Great experience here! The beer was great and the staff was so friendly. Stumbled upon this place on an afternoon walk and truly enjoyed my time here. Went with the Peak Bloom cheer wit

Nicole Malphrus: The cheese curds and pretzels were definitely the best ones I've ever had. The pretzels were incredibly soft, and the batter on the cheese curds was amazing! Loved having the option of getting a flight of beers, though none we tried stood out very much.

Mr O: Check this place out all out inclusive in every sense of the word. You will feel welcome no matter where you are from or identify. Great beer and bar food. Chill atmosphere and friendly staff.

Tyler Huff: The beer is Phenomenal!!! Exactly what I like when I go to a brewery. Many different flavors and they actually taste like the menu suggest. This has been one of the BEST BREWERIES I have been to. I cannot wait to come back! Food was super tasty as well!

Hellbender Brewing Company: what do users think?

Bradley Garness: Excellent food and drink. Friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Loved the beer called "Bare Bones". The guys running the BBQ were awesome. The bartenders were friendly. The majority of people drinking live in the neighborhood. This place reminds me of my time in Europe. Eat, drink, and make friends.

BREW GODZ: I liked this place a whole lot . It was in the cut , but they served great beer. I would love to live close to this brewery. Cool prices with cool atmosphere. Flights are always a plus .

Big Lou: Cinder was parked outside Hellbender Brewing, and we were lucky to feast on their bbq. Especially the brisket sandwich. Hope we’ll get to try the restaurant next time we’re back in Maryland. Tender meat from the smoker, full of flavor, and the apricot beans were awesome too. Happened to pair very well with Hellbender’s michelada made with their kolsch and in-house michelada mix.

Eric Noriega: It's a great local Brewery, with lots of well-crafted beers. I think they've got a great kolsch, which is definitely one of the harder styles. They're also very customer focused, and have a nice space.

Matthew Holly: Decent brew operation; really love how they have a few Kölsch style beers. The cucumber one is pretty notable, keeps me coming back.

Jason Scott: Fun, local, great beer. Seriously, what more do you want in a place? Tucked back in a neighborhood that gives it a laid back and easy atmosphere. Owners are friendly and staff is knowledgeable. If you haven't been here, why not?

John Walters: I randomly found Hellbender on Google Maps, and I was thoroughly impressed! I was especially blown away by the cucumber Kolsch. Very refreshing!
Response: Thanks for visiting, John! We really appreciate the feedback, and hope you can make it out here again soon. Cheers!

Benjamin Ferrufino: One of my favorite breweries around the DMV, Great beers, great food trucks, great customer service, and one of the few if not the only brewery to offer pitchers of beers which is great when hanging out with friends. Support black business beer is such of great beer.

Jermaine Jackson: Another great Red found. The stout Negative Space was good as well. A must try, highly recommend.

Emily Schneider: A hidden gem with great beers. They have outdoor seating and you can bring your dog. Hellbender doesn't serve food but they usually have food trucks on the weekends - check their instagram for the food truck lineup. Otherwise bring your own snacks.

Valor Brewpub: what do users think?

Dude Mertens: Use Metro to Eastern Market, then Circulater (EM-LP) or Bus 92 for one Stop - or walk easily. In house made prime beer. My favorite is the Pale Ale. Very friendly staff. Offered sample before asking for. Had a really good Burger there. Will come again.

Sarah Bartholomew: The staff at this place goes above and beyond. Great inspired cocktails and beer (coming from someone who isn't a beer person). The drink list appeals to all. Food is *exceptional.* Great location, too! Veteran owned, they take pride in their business and service. Valor is the perfect spot for game day or just a chill night out.

Andy McKinley: The most oblivious bartenders I’ve ever seen. When someone takes a seat at the bar, it might be a good idea to take the order. I’ve walked out twice due to the lack of service (even after asking politely).

Richard Woodford: Attended an alumni get together here. Good brews & tasty pub grub. Worth a visit while in the Eastern Market area.

brandon dengler: Not the best beer selection, but food and service were great. Nice that they have outdoor seating in front.

Kim Carpenter: This is my TicTok made me do it. Big Frank's truck sits outside the Valor Brewpub. This bacon is AMAZING, it is cut thick & melts in your mouth. You must try the mac & cheese along with the ribs. I almost forgot the brisket, let's say oh my. All the meats are smoked to perfection. My family ate for 2 days & it's 3 of us. This will be my monthly treat, 2 slices of bacon with mac&cheese.

Joe S: I really enjoy this place! The bartenders are great and the food is good too. The beer selection is kind of limited and the prices of drinks are a little on the high side for what they are. The food is good. It might take a while to come to your table but it’s good. I had the tot Poutine and it was delicious. The right size to eat alone or with a friend. Delicious cheese with a good stretch and thick gravy if salty gravy cheese fries are your things .. get it

Gregory Hayes: So so beer. I found their IPA and Amber ales to be fairly non-descript. The pale ale was better with much more character. The service was good. Nice sidewalk setting.

Victor Cusumano: I haven't been to Barracks Row in awhile and found this place by accident while looking for the Ugly Mug before a show at the Miracle Theater. Same owner, and the Mug is still there, just moved upstairs. The pilsner and stout were both well done, but needs another visit (and star?) when they start brewing on location. Staff was quick and helpful. The chicken Cuban was delicious, and the roasted carrots in Old Bay made the meal.
Response: Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!

Sam Odle: Great service, bar tenders are always friendly. They usually have ~4 of their beers on tap. Not a huge draft selection and although there’s a few TVs it’s a better spot for conversing than watching the game.
Response: Now we have more beers coming on board! Join us for our Beer Launch Party May 3!

Miguel Curiel: Boutique beer garden, nice space and quick service. Unexpectedly walked in on a rainy Friday and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend it for having a beer in a more informal setting. The place is very nice, with wide industrial interior design. It’s located in a walkable neighborhood surrounded by relatively new buildings. Finally, it offers a wide variety of local beer, tasty American cuisine, many televisions to broadcast your favorite sports and you can order through your phone.

Elaine Dorrans: We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner just 2 of us on a Saturday at 4:30. We were lucky to have a table open upstairs and sat immediately. They have QR codes at each table - you order and pay and tip all online. Each QR is unique to each table and the servers bring out the food. We ordered the pastrami sandwich with fries and the shredded pork sub tots. The food came out quickly and hot. The pastrami was great and so was the shredded pork. The tots were “weird “. I think they were fried squares of mashed potatoes. The place was bustling and full. The bathrooms needed attention.

chparatrooper88: I love this place. I will be back and back again. Drinks are good. House beers are very good. Strawberry Sky on a hot July day is a great cure for DC muggy heat. Price is better than Georgetown. Enjoy (Look a Walgreens flag).

Elissa Gervais: Really nice place to grab a bite, share a pint (or both!). We sat outside and went online to make a reservation ahead of time to make sure that we could sit outside (covid safety). You can order online from your table. Two things that made dining out with a 12 month old easier/possible! Food was tasty and would especially recommend the pierogis!

Brooke Dexter: Easygoing, fun spot for beers with an extensive food menu. Comfortable bar with attentive service, but outdoor seating was so much more fun and cozy (ordering with QR code). I enjoyed the Escaping Youth sour, but I wish they had more cider options than the one from Anxo!

P Park: Great beer and snacks in the shadow of Nats' stadium. The service is excellent and the vibe is excellent. Very dog friendly.Definitely recommend the feta dip - the pita and dip were fantastic!

Brett Skipper: Stopped in while doing a DC area beer tour. They were pretty busy but managed to find us a spot outdoors. The brewery has really cool indoor and outdoor spaces and seating. The beer was good with a couple being really good. The Mexican stout was the best of the bunch. We hope to be back at some point.

Samson Williams: Where shall we begin? I'm tempted to meander down the road where gentrification takes a perfectly good, culinary icon of a city (the half smoke) and turns it into a refined mass of luke warm, just out the can processed goop. But how does one render a sausage so bland that it being birth from a can and not a grill even becomes a possibility? But lets talk about the mayonnaise instead. It's actually quite pleasant. It's got a nice, sweet Aioli flavor to it. Don't mind the sweet potato fries, they're half cooked and about as warm as Putin on a Sunday afternoon. The real ringer on the half smoke is the cheese. In retrospect, fresh from a carbonated can, whiz cheese is technically the perfect pairing for what passes as a $15 half smoke. It was so bad I had my friend taste it to confirm, as I'd just had a covid exposure and one can never be too careful with the fidelity of one's own taste buds. Suffice to say, a second bite by myself confirmed my initial urge to spit out my first bite. In conclusion, Emmy's Pizza is across the street so lunch shall be saved. But if you come here, do order the half smoke. It's so bad, it's worth the experience. ⚠️ Update ⚠️ So it's a solid 8 hours later and it finally clicked what was wrong with the chili. Zoom in on it and it looks like Fancy Feast cat food smells. True story.

Rust Man: Crazy good beer and food. Love it when a brewery takes the same approach to the food as they do the beer. Super nice people working and a great space to boot.

Ray Moreno: I am sure this place is a lot of fun but I was there for a late lunch and there were not a lot of people. The host was nice and seated me promptly. It had a scanned menu which isn’t my favorite but it’s the reality of today’s restaurant environment. Anyway to my lunch, I had a really nice handmade falafel on toasted potato bun With house made beet & carrot pickled slaw, fresh cucumber & serrano lemon yogurt sauce & fries. They have a vast sandwich & burger offering that all looked great. I’ll definitely go back for a burger, fried chicken sandwich & the sofrito pulled pork. The seafood bisque & baked feta dip looked awesome too!

ChurchKey: what do users think?

C Yager: Great craft beer bar, knowledgeable bar staff, 50 beers on tap, wish they had less national/big craft beers on tap and more local. Extensive beer bottle list with hard to find beers, especially good Belgium beer selection. Fast friendly service, hard to notice from the street. Definitely recommend a visit if you love beer.

Jonathan Isett: Top notch selection of craft beers in DC. Also one of the most extensive whiskey/ bourbon catalogs around. Atmosphere is good, and the food comes through. The homemade tots are a must have. Great location on 14th st close to Logan circle. Stop and have a beer or two.

Rossukon Jandech: Beer Brunch Event on June 25th, 2022Great event, great employee, great service.Meet famous brewers there as well, so awesome.

Jeremy Krantz: During a week-long trip in DC, I spent most, if not all of my evenings at ChurchKey. As a craft beer aficionado, this is pretty much a mecca when it comes to beer and their selection is hard to match. You may wonder what's so special about this place and let me tell you straight up that it is their beer. There's little point is coming for wine, or cocktails (although they're not bad at all!) but really what sticks out is their craft beer. They have 50 taps and 500+ of bottles available as well as 5 rotating casks. It's hard to beat. My wife and I got to know the staff really well after a few trips there and they were all super friendly, knowledgeable and they made our experiences there very memorable. I cannot wait to return for many more trips when in town. One pro tip I recommend to everyone is to ask for their master beer list known as "The Bible" which is frequently updated and will allow you to figure out what's available since their selection is so extensive.

Taylor Friedman: I love churchkey but the service here needs improvement. I’ve been twice since they reopened with the latest being a Saturday night around 11:30. Busy but not crazy. Was able to find a seat at the bar. After I sat down it took at least 5 minutes just to get a bartender to acknowledge me. Was handed food and drink menus. After that probably another 5 minutes to get my order in. I thought it was weird that the bartender didn’t provide water when I sat down. I feel that it’s customary to do so at a bar as so not to make people drunk quickly. After I ordered my second drink I placed an order for food as well and was told the kitchen closed at midnight. That would have been helpful to know as I got there at almost quarter til so that was annoying. Shortly before I left there was also a guy at the bar who was passed out and one of the bartenders slammed a bottle really hard on the counter to wake him up and I thought that was kind of unnecessary. All in all, definitely a craft beer Mecca but just keep in mind service can be kinda spotty. (P.S.- they made the place brighter after they reopened so you can actually see going up that long flight of stairs and the menu once you’re inside!)

Levi Wasmundt: It's easy to get overwhelmed by the vast selection of beers on tap, but their menu organizes them well and the bartenders are very helpful in pointing you in the right direction. Ours also offered us samples before we ordered full pours. Good job ChurchKey. Cheers!

Tom W: Great list of beers. Nothing I was too interested in and I love me some craft beers. But that’s not their fault, that’s my palate. The issue was the service being absolute trash when the bar wasn’t even busy and they had ample staff. Drinks took about a half hour to come out so we ended it early and just left.
Response: Hello Tom, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. Thank you for your feed back. We appreciate any kind of feed back that can help us improve. I would love to hear more about your time here. If you would be able to email me at dpitcher@neighborhoodrestaurantgroup.com. Best regards, Dylan

Joe Perretta: Unfortunately, churchkey is the best beer bar for 100 miles. The beer is exceptional and it has reopened without missing a beat in terms of selection. The service is some of the worst for 1000 miles. And let's not blame a worker shortage, it's bad training. Nobody really knows the bottle list, most servers don't know an ale from a lager. I'm glad I had my wine key on me after my own bartending shift elsewhere because my server, who was very kind and affable, couldn't open the bottle I ordered. One of the worst staff training programs in town. I also had to convince another server that I didn't want a taster or full pour, because I had ordered a bottle. Fortunately, the clientele is, mostly, as ambivalent as management so there's no real impact to any of this. But it's just the most amateurish beer institution on the east coast. I'll continue to begrudgingly give NRG my money, but man oh man does it make you hateful to have to open your own bottles after a long shift. I really so hate churchkey.

A small cat (cat): We sat upstairs and it had a better vibe. It does have the same menu as downstairs. There were regular booths, high booths, and bar, tables. Good water. Nice decor. Great atmosphere. We ordered the tator tots - good flavor, wish more crispy on the outside like a thicker layer of it, more like mashed potato inside, salty but not too salty. The chicken and waffles were good but not my favorite. They probably just weren't my flavor profile I like. My husband loved them. The music was loud but not too loud. There were TV's at the bar. A great place to go hang out and have some grub.

Robert Last: Loved this place. Lot's of good beers. Great bartenders and service. I didn't get to try the food this trip.

City Tap House Penn Quarter: what do users think?

Juice: Went for lunch after being told it was a great place to eat... I was very disappointed! While the food as you can see presents well the taste on the other hand is nothing special. The Ahi I felt was cut a bit thick and the sauce tasted like jar buffalo sauce, the mussels smelled when brought to the table, I tried a few but they tasted dirty, and the margarita I ordered had the most tart(est) mix I've ever had, I needed to add pineapple juice to cut the tartness. A plus is the atmosphere and our waitress was cool, and the location is close to shopping, however I do not think I will be returning at least no time soon.
Response: Sorry to hear things weren't up to your expectations Juice! Pineapple juice in a margarita? Hmmmmm.

Stephen R Roderick (Thae): I was disappointed after reading good review on this place. Next time, I would go to Yard House over here. The beers were great! The pretzel app was really good, but the Brussels sprouts were actually good and the fried cauliflower Buffalo overpowered the overall dish and it wasn’t good. The margherita pizza was the worst- it was like someone who never made it before made it. Like I said the beer was great and the service was good. The food was just ok.

Mikaila L: We came in late in the night around 10:30pm after not being able to find any available or open restaurants on a Friday night and we were able to be seated right away! We are so glad we found this place. The music was great & we had fast service. I ordered the Caesar salad with added avocado. The crostini with it was such good addition and the salad was honestly perfect. It was so delicious, it was one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had. I could eat that all the time lol. The only thing I didn’t like was the added cost of the avocado was $2 and they gave us maybe 1/8th of an avocado but other than that it was great. We also shared a dessert, we had the skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing! The prices were great as well and very affordable. I would highly recommend it here!

Steven Hernandez: The server was nice and we didn't have to wait too long for our orders. These are pictures of the Cuban. It was pretty bad... The pork tasted and looked like it had been in the fridge for a week. But we were starving and didn't want to wait 45 mins for the yardhouse. I would wait and save your money. Sad though, because this place could be AMAZING! such a great spot in the corner and it's huge inside...

Winnie Winnie: Really cool vibe inside and friendly staff. We went at 8 on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all. I had a flight of beer and the veggie burger, I loved it. Husband had the Nashville chicken sandwich and said it was great (he's very picky about eating out). Brother had the fried chicken sandwich and gave it a thumbs up. We all agreed that the fries were awesome. Presentation was nice too. The negative reviews here seem to be for the more "fancy" dinner entrees so I might suggest going for the more casual options (sandwiches, burgers, etc.). After eating we went outside to have more drinks. The prices were reasonable, especially for the location and the service. I would go again.
Response: Thanks for the feedback Winnie! Glad to hear that we were able to please some picky palates! We do try to keep our prices reasonable, even during this time of inflated costs, so thanks for recognizing that!

A Z: I’m giving a low rating because there was a fly in my drink. Either the liquor is not properly stored or the ice is dirty. The server immediately corrected the mistake & her service was great that’s why I’m giving a couple of stars. I didn’t like how we were seated though. We we’re placed very closely in between 2 parties. We realized there were plenty of open tables in the restaurant & yes maybe we should of said something but at this point we ordered a couple of drinks and didn’t want to be a pain. It was super uncomfortable though & the whole time the party next to us didn’t talk and just listened into our conversation & starred. The bathrooms were atrocious. Lastly, before we were seated at the table we had a couple of drinks at the bar. The guy cleaning off the table behind us reached over the seat next to me with dirty glasses to hand to the bartender & whatever was on the glass dropped onto my bag. This guy should not be reaching over the bar top while people are trying to enjoy their space & drinks. Why couldn’t he go to the end of the bar or go around. It just seemed like an odd thing to do in the middle of the bar where people are trying to enjoy their time there.

Paul Phan: The food was delicious, but my service was awful. I didn’t get checked on once and didn’t have utensils or napkins. I was just handed the check at the end after I asked someone else to get our waiter. I won’t let one bad experience ruin the rating since the food was excellent.

Drew: I agree with other reviewers- BEST wings I’ve ever had in my entire life. We also got the greens and grains salad and the tandoori chicken and all 3 were absolutely fantastic. Beer selection is phenomenal. If I could rate this place higher I would. Could not recommend it more.

Chalsie Baker: We had a great time at City Tap House tonight. From the chill vibe, awesome food, and the best service from Isaac, we have nothing but great things to say about this place. If you are out and about in DC, it needs to be on your list!
Response: Thanks for the five star Chalsie! We are working hard to get back to the old days!

Pierre Gomez: This place has an excellent selection of beer and cocktails but generally bad food and service. On a recent visit I got the meatloaf sandwich -- the fries were cold, the meatloaf was dry and bland, and the portion was smaller than expected. The chicken and waffles was fine. We also waited a long time to order, to get our beers, and then to pay. The place wasn't all that full. The back of the restaurant is also very cold.
Response: Sorry to hear about this experience Pierre. Can you contact me at fherrmann@table95.com? Thanks!

Robin Mehera: 3 stars is a great brewery in DC. Their flights are great sizes. Also recommend their food. Outdoor seating is cozy as well.
Response: Thank you Robin. What an awesome review. We appreciate you.

Leticia Castro: 3 Star Brewing is one of the best hidden gems of Washington, DC. I came from Connecticut with the expectation of having the best beer. The curated flights are perfect! There is something for everyone. I would recommend the experimental flight. It's the best way to get a taste of something outside of the normal route. I would give 5 stars, but the parking situation left much to be desired. It was easy to get there from our hotel. However, once we arrived we were unable to find parking. It seems like there is a chance for more parking in the near future. We left our car far enough that it was a mild concern. The walk was not an issue, but the location is not in the safest of areas. I want to say thank you to the staff for giving us the best service. I went home with my first ever brewery t-shirt. I just had to support Nigel, the brewery cat! The logo is probably one of the best I have personally seen. There is love in everything they do. We went home with a 6 pack of Pick-Up Limes. If I lived closer, I would've taken another 12. We already ran out. 3 Star Brewing is the kind of place you go to have the best beers, the biggest laughs, and a wonderful time. Make sure you pick up some of the snacks they have to pair with your flight! Cheers!

Jessica Rodriguez: The best place for beer tasting in Washington, DC! Love the beer selection, the tasting room space and cool music that they play. The best costumer service! Also, it is really kind that they support local small shops with the pop-ups. Can't wait to go back!

Christian Mai: Great brewery with an amazing selection of beers! Atmosphere and Ambiance is very authentic. The bar appears super clean. Servers are pleasant, communicative and knowledgeable. And most importantly the beer was tasty to a good price point.

Peter Grillot: Tucked away in a small industrial strip at the edge of NW, a unique location for sure, but don't be fooled, the inside is stunning. It's very well kept in the inside, smells like beer and the equipment is right there. The bar is cool with a indoor barn structure. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The beers are really good, lots of sour, unique profiles and a damn good red ale. A must if you love beer and are in the area.

Matthew Holly: Excellent beers, excellent people. Playlist: Talus and Shuriken are memorable beers, try them if you can!
Response: Hi Matthew! We appreciate your love and support for 3 Stars!!

Jeff Welch: Great selections! They have one of the best Belgian triplels in the DC metro area.
Response: Thank you for the kind words and review!

Shankar Kulumani: Great local owned brewery in DC. Their space is great with lots of room and a large variety of beers

Udit Minocha: Their beer selection in huge -- light lagers, sours, Saison, and darker beers having high ABV. Beers to me are consistent.

Settle Down Easy Brewing Co.: what do users think?

Chandler Wilson: Visiting from AZ- had a great time and would definitely come back. Really nice vibe and some great beers on tap- the Sweet Scoville Sting was definitely a highlight! I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the seltzer was- packed with flavor with less effervescence than I expected, I’d definitely recommend it even if you’re not a seltzer fan.
Response: Hi Chandler! It was awesome meeting with you and talking about AZ! Boy to we miss it! Glad you had a great experience and thank you for all the wonderful feedback! Cheers! Frank

Preston Burns: Great visit today! This brewery is very laid back with a relaxed take it easy atmosphere. They have a Tex-Mex grill inside and we were there at lunch time. We ordered the loaded Settle Down Easy nachos with ground beef. It was a meal! I had one of their flagship brews, 2Cloud9 NEIPA, and I left with some to go. We enjoyed being there and I recommend a stop there any time you’re passing through. 6/12/22- Round two. Raspberry Ramble and Three Wired. Both excellent. More nachos and a game of Jenga with the family.
Response: Hey Preston! WOW! what a wonderful review! And yes, order the Settle Down Easy Loaded Nachos!!! Ground beef or Shredded chicken! ITS A MEAL! Thank you for the post and the LOVE! Settle Down Easy, Ramble on BABY!

Raj S: First timer .. was visiting VA and searching some local breweries and found this one .. parking was a little crazy . Difficult to get a spot.. Once in , we looked at all local brews … there were a couple of them which we loved . Tried it and got the best ones. Loved the yooper dew and 2 cloud 9 ! Absolutely awesome . I ordered 4 pack cans but was stunned with the price . They costed about 25$!! Ufff that’s expensive. Have been to many many brews but never paid 25$ for a 4 pack. If not for the price, I think this brewery is great . If the price was less , I would have given them a 5 ⭐️
Response: Hi Raj! Thank you for taking the time to write a review! I saw from some pictures you posted you purchased 3 four packs. (2) were 2 Cloud 9 and they are $18 per four pack. Then I saw you punched another 4 pack and unfortunately I could not see the name. Some of our higher ABV beers are priced higher and some of our boutique brands (we will only make 1 time) are priced differently. We also price $6 per can for mix and match options, so you can purchase 1 -2 - 3 or 4 different cans and build a custom 4 pack. If you would like to reach out I would be happy to connect and offer you something special on your next visit! sdebrewing@gmail.com We want all of our customer leaving feeling happier then when they arrived! Ali A: Beers? Great, nice selections and good range of options, Beer Quality? Very good, Locatoin? A bit hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. Clean? Yes, also the restroom was clean ( considering and comparing with other similar restaurants) Live music? Yes, depends on the time I guess, but not very interesting during my visit. Outside tables? Yes. A few. Service? Nice and polite servers. Parking spaces? Not good especially during early evening time . Price range? Not bad. Starti g around 4$ go up. Cons: Strange , they usually close around 9 pm (week days), maybe it is a county-city law. Food quality? Chips and stuff like that ( sides) are ok, Food options are not great, by the way, Tacos and similar light foods are available , but, I will not buy any food from them again, Low quality, not well prepared, lame taste, and actually there was a long narrow chicken bone within one of my tacos.( wish I took a photo, I was talking with my friend and totally forgot)
Response: DM us on social media… owner Frank will be happy to walk you thought all the Cons and the red tape working with Fairfax county. With regards to the food, we contract with an outside vendor called El Tio’s. Regardless your experience, we wish you would have shared this while you were at the brewery… we would have adjusted your bill and requested the same from El Tio. Please reach out - sdebrewing@gmail.com and Frank will reach out ASAP! Cheers

BREW GODZ: Nice spot . Drove from Maryland just to try it out . Enjoyed the flights and felt at home while enjoying my beer . This brewery has the space you need with outside seating as well. Beer was amazing btw. Would come back for sure
Response: Wow! Thank you for the 5-STARS and nice review! Hope to see you again soon!

Conor Terry: Came here to see Mike Jones from DC101 and had a blast. The beer was really good (especially the 2 Cloud 9 ipa) and the brewery staff were friendly. It was great being able to order tacos right there on site too.
Response: WOW! This was an old review, back from March over the men's basketball tournament. WE LOVE MIKE JONES :). Thank you for the review!

Sarah Stubbs: I reached out to Settle Down Easy to see if we could hold a birthday party there. Frank answered my email right away and made everything incredibly easy, including reserving a table for us and allowing us to come in early to decorate. The space is fantastic, the beer is delicious, and the service is superb. Highly recommend this brewery, whether for a party or for casual drinks!
Response: Thank you Sarah :)

Rachel Murphy: We had a phenomenal experience at Settle Down Easy. A huge thank you to Frank, Hannah & the entire staff for making planning an engagement party such a smooth task. The staff is friendly, welcoming, consistent, and extremely responsive. They provided us with all the information needed to plan our event. Additionally, El Tio provided amazing catering service to our party. Our server consistently checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the party. If you’re looking to plan any sort of event, I highly recommend reaching out to their owner, Frank. He welcomed us prior to the event, gave us a tour, and let us sample their beers. Even if you’re not looking to plan an event, I highly encourage you to make a visit to SDE. Their beers, customer service & entire atmosphere are hard to beat. Everyone left happy & excited to return. We will definitely be coming back soon! :)
Response: Hi Rachel! It was so much fun hosting your group! We really hope to see you again soon :)

Ryan McElhinney: Heard about the brewery on the radio when DC101 was there. So the wife and I gave it a try. The place is tucked away with ample parking which was nice. There are large tents out front for outside seating. They take away from the curb appeal of the building but a cool place nonetheless. Inside is a nice open concept with a nice mixture of seating options. There is an awesome view of the brewing area. Which immediately draws your attention. The staff was very friendly. The owners were right there behind the bar working, greeted us with a smile and recommend some of there beers based on our preferences. We ended up with a flight and tried one other beer and there wasn't a single one we didn't like. We look forward to going back to try the other beers on tap. There was also a Text Mex taco stand set up in the back by the brewing area with some delicious Text Mex Tacos. Cool spot where you feel right at home. Awesome owners and staff. I definitely recommend and we will be back soon
Response: Hey Ryan! Thank you for the visit! We just LOVE the team at DC101! They have been supporting us since day 1! We are really glad you had the opportunity to visit and can’t wait to see you again! Settle Down Easy, Ramble on BABY

Amy Georgeadis: Very fun vibe at this brewery that has both indoor and outdoor space. It's great that they partner with El Tio restaurant for delicious food. They also offer a lot fun special events like trivia nights and live music. Can't wait to return!
Response: Hi Amy! Thank you for taking the time to write a 5-Star Google Review! We are really happy with what we have built in Falls Church and we have more fun events coming! Keep an eye out for our 2nd location in Oakton! Cheers! Frank Owner Settle Down Easy Brewing

Atlas Brew Works Ivy City Brewery & Taproom: what do users think?

Traveling Terrezzas: Its a small place inside but they do have a lot of outside options with views of the stadium. I feel like this is one of the places to be before or after a ball game to have some pizza that is reasonable prices and beer rather than spending all your money at the ballpark. The pizza was good and really hit the spot for us late at night. Also tried the flight and we really enjoyed the beer! It was just really loud that my husband and I were screaming at each other but good times!
Response: Thanks, we hope to serve you again soon!

Ryan Rieboldt: Haven’t had a bad beer from Atlas yet and liked the vibe inside. However I have to give a 4 star for two reasons. The first being location as it is unfortunately in a “sketchier” and not as developed part of Ivy City. The second being that I called ahead to confirm there were stickers, then got there and the staff could only seem to find a dingy old one yet still charged me for it.. idk imho brewery stickers should always be free. I’m always willing to pay for them too, just a bit irritated the one I did pay for wasn’t pristine.

Sam G: This place is great and DOG FRIENDLY. You can bring yours right inside as long as it's well behaved. The beers are wildly varied, and usually great (there's the occasional miss). We always have a fun time. There is no kitchen, but sometimes there's a good truck, or this pizza guy that sets up a kiosk inside.

Nate B: We enjoyed this place. We had the lager and pilsner. Both were good. We also had the straight bourbon. It was also good. They do not distill it there but partner with a local distillery close by for it. Staff was great. Head brewer was very knowledgeable and came over to our table to talk about the beers. Decor was nice. I would definitely recommend this place.
Response: Thank you so much for allowing us to serve you, Nate. Till next time!

M B (M B): Great place and great beer! They have a large outdoor seating area which is amazing in the time of COVID and when the weather is nice :) always a great experience here!

Alejandro H: I have mostly good things to say about Atlas Brew Works. We appreciated their diverse list of brews. Ordered a few flights, so I think we tasted most of their beers on tap. The taproom was clean, and the staff was super friendly. We were able to have food delivered the brewery, which was great since we hadn’t had a chance to eat dinner yet when we arrived. There was stand-up that night, and let’s say it was rough, haha. But that wasn’t any fault of Atlas. I guess this is more of a warning in case you come during stand-up night.
Response: Thank you for your review! We really appreciate it!

John Thompson: The beer was okay. Not bad. Not mind blowing. But pretty good I guess. I am guessing they had just done a brewery clean when we got there. Smelled like I just wanted into an indoor pool. Not the best when you are actually trying to taste the beer produced in the brewery. I’d go again but I’m not in any rush.
Response: We're sorry that your experience wasn't amazing. We hope you'll give us another shot soon.

Corinne Goudreault: Really fun spot to try a wide range of unique beer. They also do tours of the brewery. Recommend getting the tasting flight- there are so many wonderful beers to try. Seating is pretty limited so go early, especially if the weather isn’t good and folks aren’t able to sit on the patio. Dog friendly.
Response: Thank you! We look forward to serving you again soon.

Emily Harrison: alana was the best!!! i took my sister there for her 21st and she was the best service!!! service was quick and she was the best!!! ask her her when you get to the front:))

Rob Long: This is a genuine brewery taproom experience. Think back to brewery taprooms in the early 2000s, when it was gritty and kind of warehousey... Now make that clean, huge and ambiance plus. That's Atlas on West Virginia Avenue. If you support craft beer, support Atlas. Best place in DC to get a real craft brewery experience. Also, solar powered beer. Not just a tagline. Put your money towards people doing good things while making great beer. About their brews: great variety, and decently experiential. I'm a sour guy, and while they only generally have 2-4 on tap that are brett, kettled or tart, it's enough to scratch that itch for me. They'll generally have some cross overs, that get into my taste range; ones not my typical jam, like IPAs and farmhouses, that makes me happy. If you are a pale / IPA / lager person, you'll dig here.

Lake Anne Brew House: what do users think?

Conor Terry: What a cozy brewery, tucked into the Village of Lake Anne this place is definitely worthy of visiting. The beer was clean and well done and, as a nice change, just simpler styles done right. The heater and fire on the patio were nice to see since sitting outdoors nowadays is a safer bet than indoors. The staff were friendly and the pretzels (Nordic Knot) were great. My only gripe would be that the take home options were very limited which means I can't take such good beer to go.
Response: We're always happy to package up a growler for you of anything that's on tap... Just ask!!

Doug Janelle: What a gem this place is. Small, unassuming place nestled in the shopping section of Lake Anne. Seating inside and out (by the water, when the weather is right). Not a huge selection on tap, but everything I've tried had been awesome, brewed on-site. The North Shore New England IPA is highly recommended. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If you're lucky, you'll get there in time to order a Celtic Knot soft pretzel made fresh just a few doors down. Can't say enough about this place - worth going out of your way for.
Response: Thanks for your review and all the stars Doug! We hope you'll come back to see us for a beer and pretzel again soon! visit www.nordic-knot.com for more pretzel goodness!

Matthew Jackman: Delicious brews, awesome pretzels, and super friendly staff. Frequent rotation of drafts so there is always somrthing to try. If you really like one, you can get cans to go. Perfect view of Lake Anne when relaxing with friends or a brew.
Response: We're humbled by your review, thanks so much!!

Alejandro H: Second brewery stop yesterday. We both loved the place. Great staff, good brew, delicious pretezel! Plus you have a wonderful view of the water!

nathan riech: Nice little setup of a brewery. Good variety of beers on tap. Good quality. The wheat beer was actually cloudy as it should be so that was a nice surprise. Flavors were on point. Good practices for social distancing. Reasonable prices. Nice views of the water and friendly people.
Response: So glad you enjoyed your time at the Brew House, and thanks for your thoughtful review... What can we do to earn that fifth star?

vinnykster: Lake Anne Brew House is the best thing at Lake Anne :-) Great brews and great friendly vibe! I very much enjoyed the " Live, Work and Play IPA " shown in the pics. :-)

Hillary Severson: Great local brewery that is perfect for nice weather. Beers were delicious (especially loved the sour), and they have a few food options which is nice, too. Staff was pleasant and very friendly. They have expanded their outdoor seating which is awesome but unfortunately when it is is nice out, the outdoor section gets full really quick.
Response: Thanks for your review Hillary! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to the Brew House and hope to see you again soon!!

Anthony Sciuto: Cool little hole in the wall overlooking Lake Anne. A decent selection of beers. Limited seating

Jordan P: Love it here! Small brewery, but the staff, beer, and ambience far more than make up for it! So thankful to have this 5 minutes away from me!
Response: We really appreciate the kind words and the five star review

Claire Sutter: Great brewery that offers a variety of different styles, beautiful location and very friendly staff. I visited on a recent Saturday, and even though it was my first time there, I was assisted and treated like long time friends right away. It was a pleasant surprise. They also offer Nordic not style big pretzels from a local shop, which were amazing. Thank you for providing such great atmosphere with equally amazing beer.
Response: Thank you so much, we're glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon! Cheers!!

City-State Brewing: what do users think?

Ryan Rieboldt: Absolutely loved the beers and atmosphere, currently tied as my favorite brewery in DC. Stopped by on a slower weekday night but still enjoyed my time and will definitely be heading back once it gets warmer. It’s located conveniently right off the Metropolitan Branch Trial a bit north of NoMa. The metro going past intermittently in the distance is a nice little city touch with a decent backdrop of lights behind the track. Both the 8 Wards IPA and Edgewood Extra were stellar!
Response: Thank you Ryan! We are happy You enjoyed!

Mischa: This is a great beer spot with great local beers (since this is a local brewpub after all), although I do find it a bit too pricey at 4 dollars for a 7 ounce pour. Nice and creative place overall, in a former industrial space (which makes it even cooler). There are some board games and a few arcade games for people who like them.

Zay McCullough, MSW, LCSW-A: I came here on 12/31/21 around 11pm via Lyft. I was visiting DC on vacation. I saw on a website that this was a family friendly place to bring in the new year. Upon arrival, it’s like a dead end. I saw a sign on the closet door that said to go to main entrance. I told the driver, who was unsure. We went around but it was to the wrong place. We ultimately ended back at same spot. When I got out, I noticed a sign pointing left. When I looked, I saw another sign in the distance that said go up the stairs and to the right, which is what I did to find the place. When walking it, it was DEAD! There was a small group people but that was it. They did have 3-4 game machine too. Honestly, I was really disappointed. I was hoping to see a decent sized crowd and to have a good time for an hour. Since I had already gotten a Lyft here, I just decided to stay. They had free goldfish for kids, which was nice. They had juice boxes for $1. They had regular potato chips for $0.50. I’m not a beer drinker. One of the staff recommended Blossom, Redbud, and a 3rd that I do not remember. Blossom was the best of the 3. I decided to get a glass and a bag of chips. My kid got a bag of chips too. They did have a water dispenser and cups that appeared to be free. They didn’t have BBQ like I thought. The ad was somewhat misleading. It make it seem like the food and would be there all night. Staff told me the BBQ was earlier and that they just had sandwiches now. While drinking my beer, I noticed that they had the countdown playing but was playing other music. This was also a disappointment because I wanted to hear the songs that artist were singing. My beer came up to about $7. I asked a staff person if she was here last year and she told me that they just opened in June of this year. I guess this partially explains why no one was here for New Years. Around 11:40pm, I decided to call a Lyft and head back to the hotel. My kid was sleepy and frankly, I was bored. My Lyft got there pretty quickly too.. it was about a minute after I ordered. My kid actually fell asleep there and on the fairly short (about 8 minutes) car ride back to the hotel. For the reason that I came here, it was a complete waste of time, unfortunately. Maybe I had too high expectations. It looked a little cluttered outside of the main areas. The menu seemed limited as well. Would I return? Probably not unfortunately. I will say that staff was friendly and definitely had a lot of potential.
Response: Hi there. We're very sorry we couldn't provide a perfect experience for you on a rainy night at the height of a pandemic surge. Our food provider canceled at the last minute because of COVID. Our staff stayed on to be there for whoever wanted to spend the New Year. Thank you for rewarding them with this review. If you had used this medium to ask us whether we were busy before heading over, we would have answered right away. Our industry is hurting badly right now. You should calibrate your expectations, and be grateful that anywhere is open to host you at all. Have a great new year.

Marisa Sterling-Abram: TL;DR: Love the space, and the beer. Don't love the food, wish the staff was friendlier, and wish the bathrooms were cleaner. Great space but I wish they had a more ADA accessible entrance (lots of stairs). The feather duster beer was delicious and I would return solely for that. Place was not that busy and it was a good spot to watch Sunday night football except for the fact that they were blasting afrobeats way too loud. We tried the food vendor of the night called native plants and ordered a crab cake (no fries because they ran out) and a shrimp stir fry ( which didn't come with rice) both were honestly not edible and I would not try that food vendor again. Hoping next time we come there is different food option.
Response: Hi Marisa, we do have an ADA entrance but we need to do a better job of making it easy to use. Thank you for the note about the bathrooms, we will work on that. We're sorry you didn't have a great experience with Native Plate. City-State is a venue for new food talent, and there are rough edges sometimes. If the music is uncomfortably loud, please ask staff to turn it down a bit. My mother has been doing this my whole life. Please come back soon and give us a chance to do better. The afrobeat stays. City-State

Ruben Stemple: Brrwery has a cool vibe. They are very proud of being part of DC. Lots of room for tables. The app based payment system didn't work for me but I accept that may have been my issue. Board games for family entertainment.

Rebecca Wolf: We’re so excited to have a new spot in Edgewood. Great community gathering place with awesome local brews. Redbud is my favorite! Bike, kid and dog friendly!

Jenny Jacobs: Really enjoyed our time there. They have arcade games and skee ball! Appreciated that they have the option of small pours. Wish there were more food options.
Response: Hi Jenny, thank you so much for coming and for leaving a review. We have a rotating cast of food trucks and vendors, and there are lots of options available for pickup at Mess Hall just one block away!

John Swain: Cool, open set up. So many different types of people there. Fantastic customer service. Lux Lager was all that. The Golden Ale was also 🔥. Food truck (Petite Afrik) had really good sandwiches. The bread was next level. Family friendly with arcade games along with my favorite... Skee-ball. A few books and toys for the very young crowd. Also noticed a number of board games in a cabinet. The building is set along the MBT path so it's convenient to ride a bike, scooter or any other small, wheeled vehicle. Can't wait to get back to try everything else!

Matthew Holly: Hard to recommend this brewery. Beers are pretty unremarkable (except for the excellent Blossom Kölsch, which they rarely seem to have in rotation), and some (NEDC) look and taste straight up revolting. They never have their solid beers for sale in cans either - might be 13 beers on the menu, but only 4 of them are canned? Don't think they do growler fills. On top of that, we've been sent home or refused service because of random ticketed events - couldn't even get beers to go or from a separate window outside. A real turn-off. Tried this place a few times and wanted to like it, think it's time to give up. A shame because it's a great location and a cool space. EDIT: Changed it from 2 to 1 stars only because of the passive aggressive cringetopia-worthy essay the owner felt the need to post in response to my review. They claim City-State does 'crowler' fills, and I actually got one there - they had a basil saison that was pretty good and I wanted a pack to go (of course they didn't have it for sale in cans). However, 'crowlers' here are not the 32 oz. cans you can expect pretty much anywhere else that does it; the server proudly presented me with their 16 oz. 'crowler' (one beer, lol) and charged me 8 or 9 dollars for it! Equal parts funny and tragic. Beyond that, the owner narcissistically claims to brew 'the best beer in DC'. They don't even brew the best beers in a half-mile radius, because Right Proper is that close and their efforts are worlds beyond City-State. Go there instead, place is awesome :)
Response: Sorry to hear this. We've only had one ticketed event where a cover was required--our first anniversary party a few weeks ago. We don't have ability to staff a separate to-go window, but we would have sold to-go beer at the anniversary but no one asked. No one asked for beer to go at the anniversary. If you had, we would have sold it to you. Like many breweries these days, we have crowlers but do not fill growlers. We take great care in packaging our beers, and growlers are difficult to clean and control oxygen in. We want to serve an optimal product and growlers make that impossible. We have 4 or 5 to-go beers at any time, and they are our flagships--solid to say the least. We can't can all our beers, and few breweries do. Some are small batches intended only for the taproom, at least for now. We've only been open for a year and we're still learning what people want. Deciding what to can is both a consideration of batch size (we brew in 5BBL and 20BBL batches, and it is not economical to can the smaller batches), demand, and timing. We put a lot of care into our labels, for example. We make the best beer in DC, sorry you don't agree. We've served almost 40,000 very happy people since last year, sorry you aren't one of them. We hope there are other aspects of your life which bring you joy. Love, City-State

Jason Broughton: Great place to relax and have a choice of beer Arcade games, skeet ball and bring your own game night. Does not have food inside but access to food trucks

Caboose Brewing Company & Tavern: what do users think?

Tracy: Great Service, wonderful atmosphere, good beers, ciders and wines, plus the food was more than delicious, but also beautifully presented and a lovely blend of flavors. Visiting on a vacation from Texas and if I return to Vienna, Virginia- I will come back to this restaurant. Thanks for a great first day of vacation! Update 3 days later- returned for brunch and enjoyed a great breakfast with good coffee, mimosas and food. Use the menu QR code and place orders on your phone. It works great! My first and last place visited during my trip. Appreciate the comfort and care!
Response: Hi Tracy! Thank you for visiting us not once, but twice during your vacation! We're so glad you enjoyed everything during your visits and that we could make your trip that much more memorable. Until next time! - Caboose Management

William Pate: Stopped by to check out the beer selection and was impressed with the selection and quality. Many folks were also eating and the food looked good but we had just had dinner. We had flights and enjoyed all of the varieties we tried. We plan to return.
Response: Glad you enjoyed your visit - hope to see you soon for a meal!

Brian Copes: My friend heard about great yelp reviews on this place so we decided to stop by for brunch today. Food - good and a big selection of breakfast food including grits and hash browns. My friend said the mac and cheese was too watery and I agree with her. It was disappointing on how they prepared it. The French-toast was delicious and huge portion size too. It’s like a dessert almost. The chicken sandwich was okay, but nothing to write home to mom about. The side salad was basically lettuce and dressing. Service- It was packed but my friends and I did get bar seating. I would recommend making a reservation 24 hours or earlier because it gets packed on Sunday. We definitely had to be more proactive with our needs in terms of service due to how crowded this place was this afternoon. Getting here - We walked from the W&OD trail but I hear the parking is packed usually. I would recommend walking or biking if possible. Bathroom- it’s colorful and clean. It has attitude. Overall, maybe because I got lunch and not brunch/breakfast this place was okay, but not great in my opinion.
Response: Hi Brian, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your recent visit. We are sorry the food was not as expected, we will pass this along to the kitchen team to improve. We hope you can give us another shot in the future! Thank you, Caboose Management

Jacob Blandford: Come for the delicious beer and stay for the amazing food! I come pretty regularly and always have great food. The biscuits and gravy are some of the best I’ve eaten so think about coming on a Sunday if you want a casual brunch. Beer speaks for itself but I especially like the IPAs and the Pilsner.

John Lin: Among the best breweries that I’ve tried both the atmosphere and food. I loved all the beers that were in our flight. None of them were too overpowering, yet they were all very distinct/unique with their flavors. I got the burger, fries and mac&cheese. My S/O got the Fried Chicken sandwich. Both were excellent in my eyes. The burger was topped with fried onions, cheese, and even gave the option of a pretzel bun. It was cooked medium as requested and was a tad salty, although it complemented the fried onions, cheese, and bun. I loved the variety of texture. The fried chicken sandwich was crispy, yet flavorful. I had little expectations when I saw the image, but it was quite flavorful and complex. I loved the outdoor seating area as well. Very welcoming with the heaters, lights, and location next to a biking trail. Ordering food was streamlined; you can order off your phone using a QR code and have it brought to your table. Edit 3/26/22. I have added some pictures from my second visit. Still great food, service, & atmosphere.
Response: Hi John, Thank you for your review and feedback! We are so glad you enjoyed the food and drinks during your visit. We hope you can come back again soon! Thank you, Caboose Management

Preston Burns: For a brewery!?, the food is amazing! Completely unexpected. As a foodie I was more than impressed. Locally sourced and from scratch offerings. I had artesian pork bellies from a Maryland farm and Mountain Valley cheddar cheese with fig jam, honey, and cornichon pickles. And paired with delicious beer! I arrived early, 5:00, and parking was not an issue. Friendly staff and patrons. I love that it is located along the W&OD bike path. It will be a stop for a future adventure! 4/8/22- I returned for lunch and had a delicious venison burger (medium rare, added bacon, duh) with fries and a nitro porter. I love the vibe here and the staff are great! I was told that breakfast and weekend brunch is terrific too.
Response: Thanks Preston! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit to Caboose Tavern in Vienna. Hope to see you again soon. -Caboose Management

Nadiia Fernandez: What a gem!!! Honestly one of the best breweries in town. The menu is 100% online, you place your order, pay, add more items… EVERYTHING on your phone. Staff 10/10. Location; AWESOME. Food; ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Beer; AMAZING VARIETY!Will be back!

Nate B: We really enjoyed this place. We had a charcuterie board with 3 different cheeses. It cames with crackers and pickles. All were good. The beer selection was good. Service was good. I would definitely recommend this place.
Response: Hi Nate, Thank you for sharing your recent experience! We are so glad it was a great one and we hope you can come back again soon! Thank you, Caboose Management

Kamyar Khozeimeh: Great location and a hidden gems.. For sure a great brewery cozy interior with fresh beer the food is also great

Dave Beebe: Food was very good. Burger was cooked exactly as requested. Beer selection was good also. Fun atmosphere. Was not crowded at all, but was a Thursday afternoon. Staff were helpful and courteous. We ordered using the online app and the food and drinks were delivered promptly. Was a great experience, highly recommended.
Response: Thank you Dave! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit. Hope to see you again soon. Cheers! -Caboose Management

Astro Beer Hall: what do users think?

Maretta Batchelor: Julia, Julia, Julia our bartender was awesome. She was very knowledge of all their options and willingly took the time to assist with choices desired and uncertain of. She explained, in detail, the differences between various items on the menu so that we coukd make the best choice for us overall. May I say that the wings were delicious and still burning the corners of my mouth, lol. The fries were heavy and truly filled you up after a few. The Creme Brule was an awesome choice in doughnut that I appreciate her advising me of it and last but not least that chedder biscuit blew me out of this world. I did not have enough space in me to ingest it all but at least I can rock twice tomorrow. Thankibg Julia for her service. It was awesome and appre oates. A must go while here in DC.

Jensen Whitmore: Not worth it. I’ve been dying to come to try the chicken and was sorely disappointed. Waited 40 minutes for bland chicken and a soggy sandwich. Donuts were fine, but not as good as my first try here. Staff was rude. We got there when it was empty, left when it was full. Might be short staffed but doesn’t mean you need to audibly sigh when someone needs to order from you.

Scott Townsend: Sigh. The Happy Hour that wasn't. We have a hometown bar with an arcade and love it to pieces. We were hoping to have a similarly great experience while on vacation. Sadly, it was not to be. There has no host or really any directions, so after seating ourselves, we put in our order via the online app. After ordering our drinks and some food, we were told that the arcade was closed, with no elaboration as to why. Bartender seemed annoyed when pressed for additional details. When our food arrived, we were brought a frosted chocolate cake donut with sprinkles, which would have been fine if it had been the peanut butter and jelly donut that we had ordered. A language barrier prevented the gentleman who brought our food from explaining why, and we were not offered any substitutions. We assumed that there were none available, which I suppose is on us for not approaching staff for an explanation. The final straw came when the table next to us received a peanut butter and jelly donut. I hope this is not a representative experience, as it was truly disappointing.

Kevin: Great beer hall. Came at the wrong time because of the work crowd. Nevertheless I sat at the bar and proceeded to get great service. Beer selection was good and the Astro Greek Salad was amazing. Cheers to the chef. Will return!

Brian Downey: Great spot with lots of beer options and tasty food. We went on a Saturday afternoon… place was a little understaffed, but bartender Andrea handled the crowd with poise and a positive attitude. She deserves a ton of kudos.

Samantha Horn: I love the beer selection and their special brews (like cherry blossom) are always something fun to try. The staff is great and the downstairs is just the place I want to pull up a seat at. I attended a standup comedy night there recently and had a blast. Definitely try their Mac and cheese bites and a donut if you go!

A small cat (cat): We stopped in here for breakfast in December. We loved the vibe. They had super friendly staff. The hall was old and modern at the same time. Great menu. They had a to go menu or you could sit and it was a bigger dine in menu. We ordered the tator tots, cheddar biscuit, fried chicken honey breakfast sandwich, maple bacon donut and vanilla donut. Everything was awesome. Great flavors. The water was great with no after taste. The only thing negative about this place was the bathrooms did smell bad. I would go here again when I am up in DC next time.

Archie Pollock: Nice friendly service Stopped by for a few beers and the waitress/barmaid was very pleasant. Beers were good. Next time will try their chicken

Stephanie Barrett: Good concept but nothing was quite right. The play cards for the games didn't work quite right and service was disorganized, didn't get our order right. I LOVE astro doughnuts and cookies, think I'll stick to those instead of the bar.

Gabriel: This place is really fun. Great downtown spot to drink, eat and play games with friends. Chris H. is the best bartender, so kind and helpful. He blew my mind. All of the food items that we tried were fantastic. Fried chicken is definitely the specialty, but the fried pickles, sliders, burgers and everything else was great too. The beer list is diverse and creative. Pool, arcade games, and plenty of table space. Would definitely come back. Exciting menu!

The Midlands Beer Garden: what do users think?

Karen Elise: Our plane arrived early and the Airbnb wasn’t quite ready so we brought our stuff and chilled here. The smell of the food was amazing! We enjoyed the beer, the atmosphere, the food! A wonderful experience

Casey McAllister: We had a great time at the beer garden here. A lot of great beers on on tap and just a fun environment overall definitely will be back.

Shaun Masavage: Wonderful establishment. Super friendly towards everyone, every person, families, etc. Overheard bartenders talking about an upcoming donation of a day's profits to charity. Just great people! Food is awesome as well. So many vegetarian options!

India Lindsay: Fun casual beer garden with a lively environment and solid drinks. Great beer selection with gluten free options. Lots of tables with both indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for a Saturday

Jessica Corley: The courtyard is a great place to hang out in the afternoon. There are plenty of beers on the list, and it seems like there are new ones added every once in a while. My only complaint was a table nearby was blowing cigarette smoke in our direction, pretty unusual for DC bars.

John Schafer: Stopped in to grab a beer with friends. They have a nice selection of beers available, and it's a very relaxed environment. They maintain several water stations in the place, which was really nice. Next time we are there, we will need to order some appetizers, as well.

Chad Robinson: Great selection of local beers, imports and ciders. Good food, fast service, friendly staff and excellent outdoor seating when the weather is being cooperative. Solid place to grab some brews with friends.

Eamonn Bethel: There was a lot to like: Good setup, decent beer, great nachos. But the staff all seemed so angry and utilitarian. Literally every interaction with any staff member was cold or straight up rude.

Paige Girson: A great spot for groups with indoor and outdoor seating (with fire pits!) and lots of large screens for game watching. Dog friendly too! Great beer selection that's always rotating. Everyone's IDs are checked at the door

Christina Malliris: Midlands is the best--great local beer, awesome large indoor/outdoor space, delightful snacks/a great bahn mi. They have TVs, board games, darts, heaters in the winter and it's generally a great vibe all around.

DC Brau: what do users think?

sameer shantaram: Stopped by when we had a few minutes to kill before meeting people in the area. Had the Public, which I've had before, but I "feel" it tasted better at the source. Two young ladies at the counter were very polite. There was a guy selling BBQ inside the doors (it was cold and windy out). Been a vegetarian for about 25 years so we didn't buy anything but he probably could've charged for the smells. Would like to come back again when it's warmer and to try out more of the selection.

Renee von Behren: Superior service with knowledgeable staff. Hard place to get to with barbed wire around the tanks at the entrance. Kind of a strange place as everything is served in a plastic cup and the interior could use a coat of paint. Beer is still good and the bartenders couldn’t have been nicer.

Jovan Milakovic: Had so much fun at DC Brau parking lot concerts. Great time, great people...

Austin S. Lin: So you will pull up to a nondescript strip mall and wonder if you're in the right place. Good news: you are! If you park in the strip mall, just look for the Homecoming Gate, a large white I-beam arch that a tractor trailer could drive under. You will see the "DC Brau" sign and you will know that you are almost home. Head down the asphalt hill and you'll second guess yourself again: "Wait, is this right?" you'll ask to the air. Almost there, almost there, young Padawan. You will be convinced you're approaching a loading dock (you kinda will be) but by halfway down the slope the smell of mash hops and warm fermentation will confirm you're in the right place. Walk through the awning and BAM! you are now in the living room of those cool roommates you had in college who were into beer making and thrashed to metalcore, making microbrews as well as they shredded electric guitars. But there is no ego or pretense here, just a chill, try-something-new ambiance of rad. Hang out with friends you never knew you had. Growlers, merch, stickers, laughs, all in the bottle. Congratulations. You have been Brau'd.

Dane Fergusson: DC Brau “The Public” Pale is one of the best Pale ales I’ve ever had. The hops are balanced to a near non-bitter perfection. As soon, as one thinks about the finish it fades and leaves the drinker wanting another sip.

Jason Gilmore: Pretty good beers but it’s a little difficult to get too. Located in the back of a strip mall in the border of DC and Maryland with few public transportation options around. No dogs allowed inside.

Anthony Oakes Comedian: A cornucopia of beer on tap, kegged, or canned. Grilled food was amazing. Beer was crisp and delish. They had a show there that was awesome.

Michael G: Very helpful and pleasant tour of facilities. One of the best things is at a cup of microbrew is only $5 and a tasting is only $2. I thought the Nitro Porter was the best

Benjamin Ferrufino: Thank you DC Brau for one of the best double IPA out there, the Imperial double IPA. No before or after taste, it is just perfect smooth. Love it, keep up the great job DC Brau.

Zachary Taye: Beer was great. I liked the turbo ipa so much I wanted to take a growler home. Only then to be disappointed. My growler was not sealed properly leading to almost all of the beer spilling in my car. Very disappointed, contacted brewery with no response.
Response: Hi Zachary, sorry to hear this would you please email me. Sophie@dcbrau.com. Let’s make this right.

Sydney Hackley: The onion ring burger was delicious as well as the homemade tater tots. The ordering system was quite strange though. I wish you could customize things with a special instructions box or have an option to ask for sauce.

Keith Boyea: I miss living near this place. Beer is great and it rotates a lot so you can try new stuff. Food is solid and the vibe is great.

Joshua Yearout: Good beer, average service, big and busy place. Too big for us. One and done.

L W: I can't review the food here as that would involve having been seated by the rude hostess. Opentable showed spots available & I was able to make a reservation for 4:45 but when I got there, was told no tables were available for at least 90 minutes despite there being open ones and it being just after 4:30 pm- hardly prime time for dinner. When I mentioned this to her, I was rudely dismissed and looked at like I was making this reservation up- she didn't even bother to look in the computer. I don't know how this person got their job in the SERVICE industry & maybe the food is good here, but any place that hires someone like that as the 1st person you interact with, won't ever get a single penny of my money. There's way too many other restaurants with decent - and I'm setting my standards low - service that I'll never go back here. And as you can see in the photo I took after I left- they were still showing lots of tables "available".

Michael James: Open modern layout, three casks in addition to a dozen+ taps, I really wanted to like this place but the beer quality was disappointing. Lots of basic onion-y hop-forward beers, and the cask conditioning was in a bad state for both the Mild and Session IPA (flabby and flat in the mouth rather than silky and fine). Service was less than stellar, the bartender seemed disinterested in her job as if serving customers was a burden.

Jamison Moore: Solid beer and the food is good, what more could you want? Good service? Got it. Comfortable space? Boom, nailed it. More beers than you could taste in one session? Double that! Try the falafel burger and a beer you wouldn't normally get. You won't be disappointed.

Jeff Saale: Exceptional beer offerings. The list of Bluejacket beers is fantastic. The 4oz tasters allow you to sample so many of their great beers. There are several unique IPAs to try, but do not miss the Tripel, Shaking Through. That might be the best beer on the menu. Twist, was also great, for a sour. Visit during the day for a laid back experience.

Justine Kendall: Let me start by saying the food was AMAZING. Like, really really good. I'm taking a star off because the menu itself was not overwhelming. There wasn't a lot on there I wanted to eat. But, again, what we did have was great, and the large pasta dish was a refreshingly appropriate portion. The beer was decent, the waitstaff fantastic. The location was really cool, although not serving dinner outside was another few points off. I'd go here for restaurant week.

Hannah Wheeler: I made a reservation here for a work function after reading all the other great reviews. We were NOT disappointed. Although I was worried at first because while some of us were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, we grabbed a beer at the bar and the bar tender was incredibly rude and behaved like we were a burden. I know everyone has bad days but man, it almost made me want to leave. BUT, the rest of the evening was stellar. Our server, Alex, was pleasant, attentive and accommodating. The brew and food were delicious, everyones order was correct and our server was kind enough to allow us to split all the checks (15 of us!). I would most definitely return next time I'm in that part of DC.

tamar mintz: Holy chickpeas, I love this restaurant. Things that you must try: Fried Chickpeas, Kale Caesar Salad (without chicken), Veggie burger. I was not impressed by the Charcuterie (sp?) plate, so I would skip this if you can. I tried the bloody mary, which was good. However, you come here to try the beer. Great selection and I love that you get to choose between a taste and a full pour. Will be back...after baseball season.

New District Brewing Company: what do users think?

Klara Cheung: I came here maybe 4 years ago and wasn't too impressed with the beer as it was a little bland. Decided to come back. There were 2 bartenders, the one who served us was fairly rude and I had to repeat myself a couple of times. We just ordered the Beckett's Irish Red Ale. It was okay, fairly light but still a little lacking. Open garage concept and seating inside and out and there is some parking available. Other bartender was friendly and talkative and I noticed that he had a great rapport with all the other customers. Still a little disappointed in the brewery itself but a decent environment for pups and you can bring your own food as well.
Response: I'm sorry you had anything less than a 5 star experience. We appreciate your business during these challenging times. Hope to see you around the neighborhood.

Rosie HK: We live so close to this place and had never been! We went on a chill Saturday right before the afternoon crowds came in. Loved seeing all the dogs that are welcome inside and outside. We had the most amazing seltzer which was a cherry limeade blue raspberry (purple drink in the photo). I wish they had it to go but they explained why they couldn’t so we enjoyed what we could have there. My only reason for 4 stars is one of the bartenders was not friendly at all. He had a scowl the whole time and anytime we came up to get a drink and said thank you, he would just walk away. He looked like he rather be anywhere else but there. Maybe he was having a bad day but it soured part of the experience. There was another bartender who was really nice and played some really great music from his playlist and even stopped to chat with us for a bit. Overall, still recommend! Just hope maybe the next time, we’ll get two friendly bartenders.

Chris Higginbotham: Solid beers here. I like sours, and there's usually at least one good one on tap. But the real selling point for this spot is its proximity to the dog park and the fact that it's dog friendly. This is just a great local place for a Saturday with the family (including the pup)!
Response: Thanks for the support Chris. We really appreciate it! 🙏 be sure abs check back for our Honeysuckle Hefeweizen in a month or so!

Michael Anderson: I thought it was cool experience. I tried their flight after I tried their stout. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of any of the selections in the flight except for the double ipa (sour, Irish, ipa, and double ipa). I typically love sour beers, but there was something missing. The Irish beer didn't agree me, and the ipa was a little to laxed for me. However, give it a try for yourself. Where my tongue may have missed notes yours may certainly capture each one of them. But let me make it clear that the double ipa was good. It wasn't as good as their stout which was great! But it was good. Service was excellent, and the brewery wasn't to busy on a Saturday night. Brew Food VA was there serving an amazing chicken parm and Greek salad which made the stouts pop even more. I guess I love me some stouts hahaha. Anyway, go check them out. My friends and I had a good time.

Nate B: We enjoyed this place. The beers tasted great. It is a small place with a warehouse feel. We had the Irish Red, Kolsch, and Porter. All were good. I would definitely recommend this place.

Samantha Battersby: Great beer and location! Right next to the park! They also open up the brewery (garage door) on nice days. It does get very crowded, especially on weekends and nice days. There is limited seating and parking can be a pain on nice days/weekends. Dogs are allowed in the brewery but they need to be reviewed by the staff before entering! So if you like dogs, beer, and good talks this is the place for you!

karime dulanto: I wanted to order some beer but their staff was so rude and said they were close but people kept coming in. I’m now reading other reviews and looks like there is other people who has experienced bad treatment as well and said that this brewery is the worst in the area.
Response: Karime, I'm sorry you had anything less than a 5 star experience at our brewery and ThankYou for the support during these difficult times. We hope to see you around the neighborhood.

russell gates: My daughter found this brewery and said it was a cool place. We visited her and our niece yesterday and went here. Wow! I was really impressed. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The beers all have distinctive flavors. The sour was tart but not overly so. Tasty! The stout I got had a wonderful and balanced mix of chocolate and coffee without being bitter or biting in it's profile. The ginger carried that taste but lightly. Not over done for sure! I got a small pour of the Irish ale. Super delightful! Years ago I tried a commercial Irish and bleck. ND Brewing fixed that lol. Really a smooth beer. I got a 2nd pour. They allow outside food on premises and have a food truck out front. The food truck changes so you need to check that out. I saw a flyer in the bathroom listing who was coming. We brought District Taco and had a wonderful lunch. Then we played a couple rounds of Uno. They have a game rack. Yes I'd go again and again. Great place!
Response: Russell, thanks for your support. It's awesome to be part of this community and we're excited you had a good time. This year is exciting as we begin canning our beers for take away. Be sure and check back for the seasonal releases as well. Thanks Mike

Sandi Gohn: Solid experience today at New District. Great vibe, tasty beer, but room for improvement (some of the tables/chairs were kinda wonky and the beer isn’t on the same level as some of its DC rivals but way way way way better than most of Fairfax CO’s beer!). Solid time though! Can’t wait to see how this newbie in the beer scene grows in the coming years. I will definitely be back.
Response: HI Sandi, Thanks for stopping by. We're always improving our beer game and looking for ways to improve our tasting room experience. This Christmas we will be pouring new concrete floors to level things out! Hope to see you around the neighborhood!

Mike Moyer: Bartenders were super friendly and very knowledgeable about the beer. It is alittle overpriced but that’s what you get for the area.

The Crown & Crow: what do users think?

M planetmike: Decorated a bit like a bar from Harry Potter's world, this bar is both cozy and spacious. Hook and the rest of the staff were awesome. Even for a Tuesday night, it was surprisingly busy. This is a bar. Food can be brought in. There is a small stage with a large screen where events are televised or can be used for karaoke nights. Thankfully, this bar minimizes the use of televisions, which are unneeded distractions. This is conveniently located near Thomas Circle and at the Southern end of the 14th Street scene.
Response: You can always count on us for a good time. Hope to have you back for another round sometime soon! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Christopher Yuen: I was in town for a business meeting and I took a few friends out to this bar on a whim and we had a blast! The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were unique and delicious! I had so much fun I ended up leaving my blazer at the bar. I called the manager Graham a few days later and he mailed it back to me all the way to Connecticut. He’s awesome and this place is too!!!!!
Response: Thanks Christopher, it's our pleasure to host you and your friends!

Melissa Hough: This might be my perfect bar. So warm and cozy, the staff is incredible, the drinks are good. It's never been packed (at least on a weekday night) which makes me feel better about the VID. I'd been here a few times before but last night went for the first time on my Dry January stint and they were awesome. Bartender made a tasty mocktail AND they have non-alcoholic beer! So glad I found this gem.
Response: We're thrilled to be your perfect bar, Melissa. You can always count on us for tasty drinks, even during Dry January! We hope you'll be back to see us again for round two sometime soon. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Chablis owens: It's the best bar in the city. The owner is an incredible person and if you get the chance to be served by him your night is going to be a thousand times better than you thought it would be. It is legitimately the best experience at a bar in DC you can possibly find. And it's not even a strip club. That's rare.
Response: Thanks for coming by, you rock and were lucky to have guests like you!

Annie: Cool bar with a chill vibe. Came here on a Monday night at 630 and there were only 2 other groups. Not the typical DC bar. There are a few tables and the bar to sit at. The cucumber mule was really good!
Response: You can always count on us for good vibes and great drinks, Annie. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your cucumber mule. Come back and see us for more cocktails in the future! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Noah Wahquahboshkuk: Aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and 2 sides to choose for your pleasure. The first side is more of an elbow-to-elbow-packed environment with loud music. The second side is a more relaxed spread out environment to hold more intimate conversations with friends. Being new to the area, ordering a beverage similar to the drink of preference (Weiser) was difficult due to the unfriendly bartenders. Kinda gave me the you-don't-belong-here vibe. The suggested brew was not the best, but the gin and tonic was great! Bathrooms clean as well as the main areas. Would come back and maybe study up on what is offered on tap.
Response: You can always expect good vibes from our place, Noah. We’d never want you to feel like you don’t belong here, and we’re sorry if that was the case. Next time you swing by, we’ll make sure to find you a brew you’ll love. Hope to see you back soon so we can impress you with our friendly service and unique tap selection. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

David Benjamin: Booked a private event in their larger bar area and cannot say enough good things about Lindsay and the team as well as the space. The drinks were great, we received numerous compliments from our guests on the venue, and Lindsay was a huge help planning the whole thing. By far the best, most professional experience I've had booking an event space/bar in the DMV!
Response: We’re so happy you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for the kind words.

Corey Nolan: Always have a great time in this nostalgic Bar. Brian "Bar Man" has done an outstanding job building his dream. Staff is super friendly and they have stepped up their cocktail game since I last visited. Glad I was able to ring in 2022 in such good company! Thanks C&C team! Stay safe!
Response: We're glad to hear you always have a great time with us, Corey. Our friendly staff is always here to take care of you and treat you to a cocktail. We hope you'll be back to celebrate with us sometime soon. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Adriana Cortés-Buelvas: I absolutely love the Crown and Crow. Great cocktails and a huge offer on drinks. Great indie rock music, feels like an Irish experience.Graham is the nicest!
Response: You can always count on us to show you a good time, Adriana! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your cocktails and the music. Hope to have you back again sometime soon! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Adam Adam: I went there for the first time last night I had the worst bartender in town. First he didn't even greet me or anything he walked up to me and asked me very rudely what do you wanna drink didn't, but I seen him greeting other guest properly so if I had to guess it might have to do with the fact I have an accent. I wasn't very familiar with the beers so asked him what's the lighter beer you have he laughs and said Guinness. I never been treated this way in this city.
Response: Adam, very sorry you had that experience, The Crown and Crow's staff represents cultures from 3 continents. One of our core values is that "everyone is invited to the party." I'm Brian, the owner/manager and I bartend on Fridays, please come by and let me buy you a drink and show you the hospitality that we are known for.
