John Knutsen: I was referred to Dr. Carter by my dermatologist, to have some skin cancer removed from a prominent location on my face. After examining me, she was not hesitant to send me to another surgeon who could do a more suitable procedure in my case, which already impressed me. I then returned to Dr. Carter to have the wound closed, and she did a great job. Several nurses at Sibley Memorial Hospital remarked that Dr. Carter is the best at what she does, and I can believe it. Her first concern was always to ensure the best possible result. Her staff are wonderful as well, very attentive and patient with my frequent questions.

K M: I was hit by an Uber driver while crossing the street and sustained a record-breaking hematoma that continued to fill up with serum. Luckily Dr Carter was my surgeon for two operations. My incisions were 9.5 inches and quite deep and I had to wear external drains. Because she is such a skilled surgeon, I only had to take pain medicine for 24 hours after each operation and was able to return to work after 4 weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Carter.

Annette Staggs: Dr. Carter injected fillers and Botox into my brow, nasolabial folds, and lips. The procedure was relatively quick and painless. The results are natural and truly amazing. I liked that he as well as the PA, Katie, were available to communicate with me through e-mail for any questions before and after the procedure. The staff at the surgery center were meticulous in their instructions and care of not just me but other Dr. Ramineni patients. They were kind, funny, and attentive. (shout out Dr. Duffy, the anesthesiologist who was AMAZING!!) Third: Dr. Ramineni himself. I can’t say enough about how dope of a doctor he is, not to mention a freaking artist at his craft! He is kind, detailed, and takes extreme pride at serving his patients. He never left a question unanswered, is very easy going, and always made sure I felt comfortable and safe. His procedure practices are clearly top notch because not only did I wake up with zero pain, but the entire process I never once needed to take heavy narcotics and the swelling and look of my chest 1 week post op looked better than over 75% of the pictures you see online. I highly recommend this entire business because they are the standard all doctors and offices should take in care, regardless of what you are looking at having completed with him. Thank you to everyone at the office- from the front end staff, to the nurses, to Katie the NP, and Dr. Ramineni. You truly are amazing!

Milo Fitzgerald: This is my full honest review of Dr. Praful Ramineni from West District Plastic Surgery, who performed my double incision mastectomy at George Washington University Hospital on March 16, 2022. I had my consultation with Dr. Ramineni on January 20th, after scheduling it about a month earlier. Chavonne at the front desk was super kind and helpful. The consultation was much quicker than I expected - I think I was only in there for half an hour. Dr. Ramineni very briefly went over the basics of his practice and how he typically performs DI mastectomies. He looked at my bare chest for maybe 2 seconds. After answering the questions I had prepared, I got to schedule my surgery for March 16th and that was it. I was expecting to talk with Dr. Ramineni for longer during the consultation as it seemed somewhat rushed, but I’ve also never had a surgery consultation before so maybe they’re usually like that. We’re also still in a pandemic, so I actually did appreciate the limited social contact. Over the next several weeks, I made all of the required phone calls to make sure I was registered and scheduled for my surgery, and Dr. Ramineni and Chavonne answered any questions I had. After reading mostly positive, but some mixed reviews of Dr. Ramineni, I started to worry about whether I had been clear enough to him about my desired results during my consultation. I asked him if I could send some pictures of the way my chest sits (I had very loose skin after binding for so many years) and how I wanted the incisions, scars, and nipples to look. I annotated the pictures to tell him exactly what I was envisioning. I believe that this is what ensured my happy results. Dr. Ramineni is an incredibly skilled surgeon but performs as many as nine (I believe that was the number he told me) surgeries a day, and with that kind of schedule, it’s possible for small details to be overlooked or forgotten. I paid completely out of pocket for my surgery and I needed to be 100% positive that he would do everything in his ability to give me the results I wanted. Being able to share those pictures with him, and receive confirmation over email AND right before my surgery, boosted my confidence. The day of my surgery came and went, and my healing has been going at the standard rate. I had my drains in until March 24. They were not comfortable, but not as painful as I expected. They did actually put me in the wrong size compression vest, which was way too painful to wear and cut off my breathing, so I had to order a new one online from Marena for $100. Besides that, my physical recovery has been pretty smooth. I’m now at 6 weeks post-op and mostly back to my normal routine. My incisions and nipple grafts are looking great, according to other people who have had DI. There are some stretch marks and puckering around the incisions towards the center of my chest, but that’s where a lot of my loose skin and stretch marks already were so that wasn’t surprising. It also looks like slightly more tissue was taken off of my right breast, so it looks a bit flat/concave on the left (my left) side of my right nipple, while my left breast looks more like a natural pec. That doesn’t bother me, but if that’s something that would bother you I would make sure to talk with Dr. Ramineni (or whoever you decide your surgeon to be) beforehand. I haven’t had any issues with dog ears, which is great. Honestly, I’m a lot happier with my results than I thought I would be, and I still have a lot of healing to go. My biggest takeaway from this whole process is to do as much research as possible on your surgeon, what their abilities are, what their top surgery style is like, and communicate all of your desires to them with as many specifics as possible and make sure you feel heard. Show them examples of what you want so you don’t end up surprised or disappointed by your results. Overall I had a very positive experience with Dr. Ramineni and his team and I’m so grateful and relieved to be physically recovering well.

Bonnie Montgomery: Excellent facial with Megan. My skin appears much improved. Megan took time to explain what she was doing at each step and discussed what my skin needs going forward. I use some of their products but she made adjustments based on my skin type. I scheduled another facial in 6 weeks before I left.

Jonathan S: I fractured both nasal bones and sustained a deviated septum in a really bad accident. Six weeks post operation and my face looks like it’s never sustained any trauma at all. I can’t imagine a better surgeon or experience. No post op pain at all - just slight swelling and a little congestion that lasted for about 1 week, but was easily managed with OTC saline nasal spray.

But I’ll skip to the point and say - if you are considering any kind of breast OR body work, Dr Pittman should be your FIRST (only) choice! I’m 8 mo post op from a very successful “mommy makeover”. Throughout the process, Dr Pittman and I discussed my short-term & long term goals, recovery timeline and different surgical options to achieve the most impactful results (and whenever possible, conservative approach) while setting real expectations along the way. And after having achieved weight loss on my own, he understood my main goal was to have overall body refinement and contouring to help showcase my own work. And let me tell you, it DID! Incisions lines are absolutely the tell tale sign of a skilled surgeon & Dr Pittman took great care to leave me with the most clean, carefully placed lines - many of which began to fade almost immediately. My procedure also included complex breast work so innovative, the avg surgeon wouldn’t have been able to perform it. But Dr Pittman did an excellent job! I say this as a patient who has previously had a breast lift/aug (prior to children) from another well respected/certified DMV doc. Because I truly believe, if I hadn’t had that work done 11 years prior, I wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate the tremendous surgical & aesthetic skill Dr Pittman has today. If I had to put it in simple terms - with my previous surgeon, I came out feeling and looking like a Lexus. But with Dr. Pittman, my results look and make me feel like a Bentley!

Leading up to surgery I had all of my questions answered in by the front desk staff and/or Dr. Pittman directly. I felt extremely prepared and well taken care of. The evening after surgery, Dr. Pittman himself called to check on me and made sure I was comfortable and resting well. I have never had that kind of care and attention from a physician! It was refreshing and endearing to say the least. Overall I cannot recommend Dr. Pittman and his practice enough. He is truly an outstanding doctor who gave me my confidence back after having 3 children. I am forever in his debt and consider myself so lucky to have found him! Thank you Dr. Pittman! Jill Freyensee: Everything has been top notch so far with Dr Bitar and the entire staff. I had a breast implant exchange/capsulectomy. The staff is friendly and even dealt with my grumpy post-op attitude I don’t remember well, but was informed by my significant other. They have been pleasant and accommodating especially when I showed up early for a post-op appointment they got me in quickly so I could get back home. During my consult Dr Bitar was thorough took his time with me and I didn’t feel rushed.
