Sue Agraviador: We had a great experience hosting a birthday part for my 4 year old with Mad Science Washington DC. Communication with staff was flawless and everything happened as planned. We had a group of 4 kids and they were entertained for the entire duration of the session (almost 1 hour). I found that very impressive. The adults were entertained as well. We have a small townhome and the Mad Scientist was able to set up in our kitchen table. Wonderful experience! Highly recommend it to anyone.

I loved that she made new friends (even though I sent her with her classmate), learned, had lots to talk about to us when they came home each day, and were tired. The counselors seemed good and Wil, the Director, was Fantastic. As a first-time summer camp mom, he was super responsive, understanding, and helpful. Knowing what I know now, I will definitely be signing my kids up next summer. Thank you!
Lisa Devlin: Will was super easy to work with in scheduling the event, and Dr. T was a delight for the kids. He kept a bunch of seven-year olds engaged and entertained for a full hour. I loved the educational aspect of the show, which was presented in a fun, kid-friendly way. We received lots of compliments from the other parents as well. I highly recommend using Mad Science for a kid birthday party!
Emily Adler: Hiring Mad Science to help me host myd grader’s 7th birthday party was the best decision I could of made! The kids were fully entertained for an hour, and Dr Tony had my son assist a few times, and acknowledged his birthday, which was amazing! The cotton candy at the end was also a hit. Gloria Westbrook: It’s always a choice to give good customers service and Marcus or “Chase” from Paw Patrol I should say was absolutely amazing and gave a stella performance for my godchildren’s bday party. He was so professional and patient with all of the kids while they got their face painted including the adults too. Everyone had such a memorable time the entire time he was there. And when “Chase” arrived the party escalated with more bells and whistles!! I had to take the time to give a comment regarding Marcus’ excellent customer service and performance. If you looking for a character entertainer for your event; you MUST book him. I promise you that you will be very pleased and will rebook him again for your next event. Kelly Kalepe: The Black Panther character was a true hero at my son’s fifth birthday. He was in full costume out in the heat for an hour and he was super upbeat the entire time. My son is still telling everyone that black panther came to his party. And I am so serious when I say it was HOT! I even offered to let him leave early due to the heat but he insisted on staying and kept his energy up the entire time. Truly thankful for this superhero!!

Dana Clerkin: Spider-Man Stu was the greatest addition to my 4-year-old grandson’s birthday party. He and his costume were both in great shape and he was a delight and engaging with every child. Always in character with a positive demeanor to us all. Posed for photos, gave lots of attention to the birthday boy, let the kids climb on him and wrestle him and made all activities work for an indoor, January birthday. Girls and boys loved him!
Megan Vorthman: We had a wonderful experience with superhero Stu! He performed as Spider-Man at my children’s 3rd and 5th Birthday Party. He came early, set up and had some one on one time with the kids before the party started. He made sure we got all of the pictures we wanted and kept all of the kids, which were all mixed ages from 3-10 years old, engaged throughout the party. Thanks for such a memorable party!
jessica batten: Superhero Stu is amazing! There are not enough stars to rate how amazing Spider-Man (Ivan) was. The kids and parents absolutely loved Spiderman, most importantly the birthday boy. Multiple kids at the party said it was the best party ever and they had the best time ever. Parents commented on how amazing and awesome impersonator Spider-Man (Ivan) was from his appearance, his Spider-Man’s voice, and all the cool and fun activities he had for the kids. He stayed engaged with the kids and kept their interest. He even jumped in the bouncy castle with the kids and had an impromptu game of hide and go seek hiding the birthday boy. I can’t say enough great things. He was worth every penny. I am a picky mom and I was more than pleased with the turn out. I would definitely recommend Superhero Stu and use him again in the future.
Skyelar Riseling Haith: Superhero Stu is a must for any superhero-loving kids birthday! Spiderman showed up and kept 20+ four and five year olds entertained for an hour!! He even engaged the birthday boy and his brother while we set up by letting them be his assistants. They loved it! His set up is fun and vibrant and would work indoor or out. He took time for posed pictures before the party with my son as well as group pictures with all the kids before Spiderman vanished. He even had a Spiderman action figure for the birthday boy, which is still one of his favorites!
Jzaleh Abbasi: We really lucked out with getting SuperHero Stu booked for our 4 year old’s birthday party. Stu was very professional and accommodating to my changing event schedule. Day of the party, he arrived extra early to set up his starions, which we really appreciated! As Spider Man’s helper, ahead of the party, he was interactive with our son and let him play with some of the superhero gear and tag along during setup. In costume, he was great at taking on the room full of chaotic kids & getting the our event and kids organized for super hero training activities. He had a lot of props and activity stations and the kids really had a blast. Highly recommend, as we felt he went above and beyond for our event needs. Thanks!

Hadidi Weller: I used this company for my daughters 5th birthday party. My daughter is infatuated with Disney so we did a mini mouse themed party. They simply did an amazing job. All we had to do was give them our idea for the party and they brought it to life. Everything from the staff, decoration, party themed games and dress ups that are age appropriate and fun to all the kids. The centerpiece that they used for my daughters birthday cake was just absolutely the most adorable thing I have ever seen. They were very attentive to all the kids that we had at the party and that made us and the parents at the party relax and enjoy the party as well. Overall it was a really great experience and I will be using them again next year because they did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them to everyone

I loved that fact that everything was included in the price, i.e. decorations, tables, chairs, etc. It was very affordable and most of all in the comfort of my own home. Annie Selak: Narissa at Little Ivies is so great to work with. We needed to book a last minute birthday party. In less than 48 hours, she put together an amazing party. They were kind, easy to communicate with, and so wonderful to work with. She did all of the set up, clean up, and ran the party, including bringing in a Zumba teacher and painting the kids nails.
Kate D. Manders: Little Ivies has been a lifesaver for our family with aftercare and school cancellations over the past year. Narissa is increidbly responsive and flexible and our son absolutely loves his time there!
Kelly Mulvihill: The staff at Little Ivies are pandemic heroes! Our child attended Little Ivies in-person when her school was virtual due to COVID. Narissa, Donna, and the rest of the Little Ivies team went above and beyond our expectations to help educate our child and the other children in our community who participated in this program. We are so grateful for all they have done to facilitate learning, fun, and creativity while keeping our child and her friends safe and happy. I cannot recommend highly enough!
Ben Black: Little Ivies was truly a godsend during the COVID lockdowns. We’ve sent our two children for camps and aftercare occasionally before, and they always had a great time. Narissa made sure there was always something fun going on: art projects, trips to the park, field trips to cool places, ice cream socials, and a whole bunch more. During the pandemic, we organized a “pod” of students that spent most of their days at Little Ivies until schools reopened. We were very happy with the level of safety protocols in place, as well as the staff’s engagement on student assignments and online class schedules. They also kept up with the “fun” activities to the extent possible with all the restrictions in place. Definitely recommend: caring, professional, and fun.

Jalan W B: Hosted a celebration for families there last weekend. It was really nice. We reserved the rooftop and semi private space. It was awesome. The staff (Danielle and Robyn) were super helpful with setting up and clearing things out. Minimal decorations were needed because the party space was so beautiful. We will be back 😊🌟😊
Lauren Dreyer: I can’t say enough good things about The Lane. I’ve recommended it to dozens of local friends, and even to some out-of-towners when they come to DC with kids. It’s an amazing space for kids that, most importantly, is GREAT for parents too! As apartment dwellers, we are always venturing out of the house for more stimulation. The Lane is so much fun for our daughter, who adores all the toys and activities and play spaces. It’s one of those amazing, and nearly impossible to find, spots that has enough to keep kids of all ages entertained for hours. And we parents enjoy the coffee and beer and rooftop deck and sunshine and clean, safe, creative, and thoughtful space within which to let our daughter roam free! It’s a great alternative for winter or rainy weather, but we love it so much that it’s become a regular part of our weekend routine, even when the weather is nice!
Trevor Diaz: Full disclosure: I am heavily biased in favor of The Lane because of a deep seated desire for it to thrive. In simple terms, there’s nothing like it anywhere within DC for parents and kids. If I’m not mistaken they just, and I mean only just now, opened and everything shows so much promise. It’s open, it’s friendly, it’s terrifically accommodating, and it’s also so very shiny and new. The owners have a Herculean task ahead of them with regard to long term maintenance. I am hopeful that guests will maintain decorum in an arena that has yet to establish written rules about hand hygiene, where to take off shoes, respecting the elements, and cleaning up after their kids. It is early, it is deserving of a 6-star start. If you live nearby and are searching for anything that’s an indoor/outdoor space for kids and parents you’ve found it. You must come and see.

She is starting to play with the teachers and other children more. And she has learned to love music and instruments. Overall, it is a great place for young children!

She was able to explore the environment, participate in call and response songs, touch and use instruments, and so much more. She was so excited to see other children and engage with the incredibly patient and animated instructors. This class was appropriate for multiple age groups and we can not wait to return for more musical and motor fun!!

We are new to DC area and it has been a challenge for me to find fun place for my 16 mo with good activities, flexible schedule and affordable rates. How happy I was to find out about this location. The main asset Of Gymboree DC is teachers - they are wonderful and caring, very kind and attentive to all kids. The playroom is spacious and the layout is being changed every other week, so your child will not get bored. We tried several classes so far and all of them were a success. However if you don’t want to attend the class you can opt for an open play and just be there with your child. I would imagine that birthday parties must be amazing there, and no hustle for parents. If you ask me, I can’t name any disadvantage of Gymboree DC. GO for it! P.S. - parents bring socks for yourself - parking is available at reasonable charge - don’t forget you child’s snack and water - booking classes online is very convenient Good luck!

Rachel Kern: So if anyone is looking for somewhere to take there toddler/ preschooler (especially on rainy days) for some play/learning I highly recommend SkillZone. There’s street parking ($2.30 an hour) and my 1.5 y/o daughter had an absolute blast. The staff is patient, helpful, and super nice and the facility is clean. I wish I would have found this place sooner! An absolute gem!!

They brought such a great energy to my son’s 2nd birthday celebration. The kids were all into it... ages 2 to 12. Their team had great communication prior to the day of the event. They arrived on time and were very professional. We had the Mickey character and man... he looked legit! The costume was well kept and clean and the host was also very well dressed. They had all the latest kid’s songs and the experience was very interactive and child appropriate. Everyone was commenting and thanking us because they had such an amazing time. Clown N Around has so many other characters and different packages to choose from. So if you are on the fence... I say go for it. They are definitely a must for us next year!
v s: We loved the entertainers. They came in time, well organized, and put up a singing and dancing show for 20 four year old kids that they absolutely enjoyed. The show followed by balloon twisting, everyone got a balloon they wanted. Altogether the show and balloon lasted for one hour. High energy, great time! Thanks to Clown N Around!

We were shocked when they stayed another 30 minutes on their own accord just to make sure all the kids had a turn with the face paint. If you’re thinking about booking them, do it NOW! So worth it!
Carol Nguyen: I’m so glad I booked Minnie Mouse character at Clown n Around for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party! My daughter was a bit shy at her bday at the beginning but as soon as Minnie Mouse arrived, my daughter danced with Minnie and started to open up to all of us. Thank you, Clown n Around for cheering my daughter up! The two cast members were highly enthusiastic and entertaining throughout the whole hour with greeting guests, engaging our little kids to a dance party with popular kids music, singing happy birthday and to top it off the face painting and balloon art was super fun for the kids. Definitely will hire Clown n Around for future events. I couldn’t be happier with the entertainment that was provided!

The show was roughly 40 minutes and every bit of it was hysterical for the kids. I only wish we could have him back next year — not sure how to top this birthday!

MaiLien Le: We just had The Great Zucchini perform at my son’s 5th birthday. He had the kids enthralled from the second he started his performance until the very end. The kids attending ranged in age from about 2-7 (most in the 4-5 year range) they all had a blast, laughing hysterically and participating in all of the games. He made sure everyone felt included and it was very clear that he understands how to captivate this age group. My son said it was “the best day ever” and asked when he could see The Great Zucchini again. It was a wonderful time, worth the hype and worth every penny to see the joy in all of the kids faces.

YAMILKA BRYANT: Came here for the first time and the kids had a blast!!! They enjoyed every part. I thought that the hours weren’t going to be enough but, it worked out. They have their own little system going and try to keep as organized as they can. I went to the ice cream one and they received a cup of ice cream at the end. Will definitely be bringing the kids back for the different jump events.

Bethany Cobb: Attended birthday party for 5 year old. First hour was split between two room of inflatables - great idea to do 30 minutes in each room to keep it interesting. Included a "snowball" (white fuzzy balls) fight. Second hour was pizza/cake and a round of "limbo". Kids had fun, which was the most important thing. Young employees looked slightly bored (certainly not a job I envy!) but managed enthusiasm at the necessary times. Easy parking.
A random person: This place is amazing for kids birthday parties! Super fun bouncy castles and great service from staff. They also have pretty good prices. I believe it costs 10 dollars per child but take that with a grain of salt.
Shenita Boyd: Not my first time frequenting a Pump It Up, but this one was by far my most pleasant experience. Attended a birthday party for a 5 year old and the staff were very organized and attentive! They also did additional activities that I have not see at other Pump It Up birthday parties. Great job! My only complaint is upkeep. A deep cleaning is definitely needed.

Jennifer Moore: I got super worried when I read the more recent reviews but we held my daughters 5th birthday here on Sunday 1/16 and had an absolute blast! All the employees were helpful and knowledgeable. They called to confirm details and were ready for us when we arrived. All the details were correct. We had 25 kids and everyone had a blast including parents!

Mike Losasso: My little girl loves it. The instructors are so nice and caring. They emphasize learning and development. A great place to help your child develop social skills, and motor skills.
rachel land: My son and I attended a birthday party for a friend that was hosted here, and I was so impressed with the way the staff interacted with the kids. My son was being fairly willful and contrary that day, and they just rolled with it and patiently created good boundaries for him while also being accommodating. The venue is a great place for kids to run around and have a great time, but the staff were the really stellar part of the experience!
