DC SAFE: what do users think?

Rhonda Kearney: I want to thank the ladies that work here. They helped me through the hardest time in my life in May and June of 2020. My advocate helped me with the process if getting protective order that were live on the phone during this time. They also helped me with funds to change all my locks to my house, and got me to proper contact with a lawyer to help me with my legal needs. I can't thank you enough for everything.

Tailah Hawkins: People are already hesitant to reach out and these ladies talk to you sometimes worse than the abuser you are trying to escape. They also don't follow up and are very rude and unprofessional. I was approved to get placed last week and was given a time that I would be able to be housed...that time came and passed and a week later I still have heard nothing. They seem angry when they answer the phone and make it so you don't even want to call back. I was told "what we not going to do is raise our voice" when I was clearly crying and trying to get the words out because their colleagues dropped the ball on communicating with them or whoever places notes on files...once I was finally connected there was no apology not that that what I'm looking for there wasn't even acknowledgement of the disrespect happening.
Response: Hi Tailah. We are so sorry to hear about your experience and want to make it right. If you are interested in speaking with a supervisor, please reach out to info@dcsafe.org.

Annette Ruffin: This is a safe and positive organization for women. My experience chas been a great experience. They have superceded my expectations for any organization that has assisted me in my troubling times. I hope and pray if anyone ever have a problem you would allow them to assist you. They keep all your business private.

BAHBEE MILONAKIS: Poor client care
Response: Hi Bahbee. We are so sorry to hear about your experience and want to make it right. If you are interested in speaking with a supervisor, please reach out to info@dcsafe.org. Dorothy Lanasa: I really wish someone from your agency could have an outreach to police departments who ignore sending cars out to check allegations of rape, not single rapes but "rape school" by wickers here in 21223. I have called repeatedly and no one does nothing to stop her because the president likes her because she sexes with afro americans? In the face of a possible catastrophe from space, this is the type of problem that still should not be ignored. Thanks for trying to stop the raping in SWPD district.

House of Ruth: what do users think?

Stormy Downs: I was in the process of getting a protective order and divorce from my narcissistic abusive husband. I made several trips to secure their legal representation. We discussed my case at 8pm the night before my case....I knew then this wasn't going to help. However, I showed up 1 hr earlier than my court time in hopes to cover more detail just to find out 30min before my case is to be heard that they will NOT be representing me after all. I was livid! Consequently, bc of this unprofessional and worthless organization, i lost my case. They are an organization that gets plenty of grant funds but do not uphold their purpose. They are extremely unprofessional, that's if you can get a hold of them. They don't answer the phone and they are in their office maybe 1hr out of the day. Don't waste your time with them, they did not provide any form of care or assistance. Ppl come to this place for fair representation and other resources for the sake of their family well being, They put their trust and hope in this place just to be nothing more than disappointed. This place deserves a -10, & should be renamed as House of Ruthless.
Response: House of Ruth in Washington D.C does not provide Legal Aid services. You may be referring to House of Ruth organizations that we're not affiliated. Ashley Early: I am a survivor of domestic violence, believe me when i tell you it feels like i'm still in a domestic situation, the only difference is that my face is not busted or bruised. That staff here are truly unprofessional Mrs. Latoya who is supposed to intake young children and mothers in domestic situation stated that i was not good mother for not having my child and that she was a better mother than me and if she were to not have her child she would go crazy. First of all i am truly hurt as a mother not to be with my child second it was not her place to say anything like that to me as her to be in the place of work and third i have to stay sane to get myself together to be with my son again, again These staff are cruel and they try to put us down rather than lift us up because their not in our shoes, and they cant relate to us the case mangers have favorites of who they want to help and not to help my case manger gets upset when i tell her i dont feel she has help me with the things i have asked her to do for me and she states to not ask her at all if she not doing her job. So at this point what do you do? Please don't believe these make believe views and comments you see. I currently stay a house a Ruth pl;ease take my word . The only Person who some what care a little is Mrs. Serteria the program manager. Thats about it.
Response: Hi Ashley, We apologize for the issues that you may have experienced during your time with House of Ruth. Minoshka Downer: I lived in house of Ruth in Washington DC when I was only 18yrs old. It was a hard time for me. If u don't be into sign in on time u lose ur bed. The only thing that was good that came out of there was the church every Sunday a bus would pick us up, those who wanted to go. Would go to this church. I mean I felt that when the choir sang I felt the music in my bones. I felt that they was talking to me. I have never been to a church like that ever.that is the only good thing that I can remember at that crazy place. But just like the other person said don't get stuck there. Don't get caught up in the game some women been there for years.Sad. god bless
Response: Hi Minoshka, Thank you for leaving feedback on your experience. We are glad to see that you enjoyed some aspects of your time with House of Ruth. Empowering and uplifting our clients are our top priority and we regret that you did not fully enjoy your experience. We appreciate the feedback as it is most important to us to make sure that we provide the best experience for our clients.

Barbara Coates: It is a roof over my head. When I should feel grateful i wonder. For those who are use to living with others it may be alright. But if you have lived on your own and never had to live under some elses rules . it is hard. 60 years old and being told what to do or you could loose your bed... hard. Being housed with ex cons, thiefs, loud and obnoxious femaies. Takes a lot to hold on to your own sanity. Oh if you are sick and need to rest... this is not the place for you. If you must - be prepared get your lock, personal hygienes and especially toliet paper. and you are all set. Blessings. Just remember - this is the first step to your new beginnings - Don't get caught up and get stuck. Keep moving and praying. GOD is awesome....
Response: Hi Barbara, Thank you for your feedback. We are sad to know that you did not like your experience at House of Ruth. Please know that your feedback is important to us and will help us to provide better experiences for our clients.

Misty Turner: Unfortunately I have needed the services of the domestic violence program 2x. They saved my life. They have been supported from being an ear to listen, comfort me, guide me. I have needed a lawyer 2x, and they had recommendations. They can not fight your battle for you, but they can arm you with information, and guidance to get through the process of regaining your life.

Amorita Quintanilla: These people are Horrible and do NOT have ur best interests. Please I encourage you to get a lawyer before you do anything to protect yourself because these people are not here to help! And when confronted about how they didn't informed about about certain things that could happen before hand I got NO response from the person Ive been dealing with for some time. You all should be ashamed of yourself and look into other occupations because yoy are not here to Help!

Embassy of Singapore: what do users think?

Noorzeela Kasmani: Just to let you all know that the lady that answers the calls is not a Singaporean. She is from the Philippines. It’s hard to get things done and get genuine answers from them. Lack of knowledge I must say. I asked for a Singaporean she passed me to her Filipino colleague it’s frustrating. The one in San Francisco is very efficient and all are from Singapore. You get straight answers from them. My passport takes a long time to process not sure what they did to my application before sent out to I C A. Now I have to pay extra for faster service???? It’s been more than 4 weeks!

Daud Mufasa: Someone is literally sitting there and disconnecting the phone before they even answer. Pretty pathetic that they are getting paid and can’t even put in the effort to attempt their job. Must be nice to steal money from your employer.

Victoria Alao: I am very very impressed with the service of this consulate. I am Nigerian and needed to get my Singapore visa asap and the consulate helped me. They were very patient with me and they issued me the visa in no time. The consulate executive kept me updated throughout the process and I was indeed impressed because she went above and beyond. Thank you Singapore consulate DC, I am about to go have fun in Universal Studios in a few weeks thanks to you!

Peng Sim Reynolds: The Singapore goverment is the best.!We feel safe and was educated and we have to credit this to the late father of Singapore mr. L lee Kuan Yew.

Jin Wang: I have been to Singapore many times. This time I try to apply for a business visa for an upcoming trip. The visa office lady was very unreasonable and rude.

tommy wood: The woman at the embassy was very helpful very kind and answered all my questions.

bipin varghese: The lady who picks up the phone at the operator is super rude. She was very insulting to me when I was just asking for information.

Space Wizard: Very kind women

Embassy of South Africa: what do users think?

Tyler Smith SPDC: Witnessed one of my family members on the phone with someone from this embassy, and the way the representative treated her was an embarrassment to the entire country. I can't believe how incompetent the staff is at this embassy. Their incompetence is only exceeded by their unwillingness to simply do their job. She's been sent back and forth between the DC and New York offices, and neither of them are offering to actually get anything done. What a terribly poor representation of a great country like South Africa.

Zanelle Carina van Vuuren: Whenever I call the embassy I feel at home; no answer of calls nor emails. When they eventually answer, you get redirected to 20 different people that has absolutely no mindset to help or actually do their job. Embarrassed to call myself South African

Simone Langenhoven: No response given at all. I keep getting emails from Ms Ramaru to Christie to assist and that’s the only feedback I get. I’ve been waiting over 6 months for a UBC!! How ridiculous! The frustrating part is I keep having to follow up (since FEB) and the only response every time is “Christie, please assist” “Christie is there any update” no actual feedback on my UBC!

Topollo Tsepetse: I cried after a lady hung up on me !! I been calling for weeks with no response and when I finally get to talk to someone one she was rude!! She told me to get my mind right before I ever call that number again, and she hung up!! I’m so frustrated because I really need their help but after that phone call today I don’t know what to do.

C. M.: Beautifully renovated Embassy. The statue of Mandela is stunning, moving and unforgettable. One can't park on Massaschusetts, but the embassy net door could be used as a temporary spot for a photo op.

M Shaznush B Afsin: The gentleman who received my documents was pretty quick and told me what was missing and allowed me to walk-in right after I had it from a UPS store. He gave me suggestions of what to do and what not give the pandemic situation. I still haven’t got my visitor visa but fingers crossed to get them on Wednesday next week

Elzane de Beer: Waiting an eternity just to be helped. And when someone finally showed up, they absolutely made sure to let you know what an inconvenience it was to move from the chair to the front to help you, interrupting the breakfast, brunch, lunch going on at 1130-ish. And by the way, all hours of operations stop by 2pm, regardless of it being listed as open until 5pm.

Lindsay: Dealing with the South African Embassy in Washington DC has been excellent! From the first email communication with Mr. Singh, it was obvious that it was an efficient and professional office. Upon arrival for my interview today, I was welcomed with kindness in a calm environment, and in a very timely manner! Excellent experience! THANK YOU!

Demetrius Bullock: I’m sadly Too be informed another one of my and our Great Own Anti-Peace Leader In South African’Mr Desmond tutu has Passed and Received his Wings I say Thankyou sir too you and Fellow Nation’s Grandfather Nelson Mandela for all your Good Years and Service and too fight too help make the world we live in a Better 💯💯🙌You and your name will never be Forgotten Family and for the rest of our Descendant Leaders and Ancestors 💯💯🙌🙌💎♾🇿🇦🇯🇲🇪🇹🇺🇸🇹🇫 and my Love Condolences 💐 and support too our Beloved and his family and friends and In Shalom Jah Bless 🙏🙏👑🌹🌹

Varnett Alegria Gomez: I live in Texas and needed the dates on by tourist visa corrected before travel. The day I sent my passport back to the embassy to adjust the dates, they were hit with a confirmed case or COVID and shut down all operations and the building itself. When I became aware of this, I called the emergency number on the website and eventually received a call with the visa officer who had processed my initial application. He was nothing short of amazing! From listening and valuing my concerns in regards to a tight time frame, to following up multiple times a day, he was very hands on and communicative. He went above and beyond to connected with his team and find a solution to my problem. I was very pleased with my experience!

The Salvation Army USA National Headquarters: what do users think?

Kevin S: Called about donating a dresser, unfortunately the dresser is very large and heavy and I am unable to remove it from the upstairs by myself. I was told to send pictures of the dresser and stairs and email it for review. I told them I would wait outside and I'm fully vaccinated. They said the turn in the stairs looked tight and they were concerned they couldn't "remove it safely", I told them it was brought in safely. It's not like it was hoisted in through a window on a crane. They still wanted to send someone out to preview it out but this wouldn't be for another week. The policy for entering the home has made the act of donation a bigger time waste and hassle than it's worth. This policy is an excuse to do less work and not have to lift and carry things.

Paula Gallo: Salvation Army helped me and my family a lot. I was a soldier from the McKeesport Corps. They never discriminates anyone. I suggest The critics keep the Salvation Army out of Politics.

Yvonne Kay: I called the National Headquarters at the Salvation Army just now. After being interrogated as to what I wanted, I was told to call my local corps office. Our corps office is run my very effective officers, but the issue I had could only be handled nationally.

Eddy Eckley: My wife and I scheduled a donation pick up of our entire house, including all furniture and household items. We scheduled this entire home pick up a month ago at the San Antonio, TX Salvation Army. We gave them a detailed long list of all that we are donating for their truck scheduling. We rec'd an email confirming all we were donating, the scheduled pickup day, and a phone number to call the day of pickup. We confirmed the pickup 2 weeks ago. We confirmed the pickup last week. At 1030 AM today I get a call from the San Antonio Salvation Army that "because of scheduling difficulties we will not be able to pickup your entire home full of stuff tomorrow as planned". LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE SCHEDULED PICKUP. My wife and I are leaving Texas in two days. We sadly assumed Salvation Army would keep to its commitment of picking up our stuff on schedule. Now we have to figure how to move our household items in two days. There is no acceptable excuse for this level of incompetence.

Lawrence Kominiak: Very dissatisfied with the donation/pickup process. On June 23 I made an online reservation for a pickup on July 17. On July 17, I put my items out and verified via the website the pickup was still scheduled for that day. At 2 pm my items were not picked up and I contacted the Salvation Army Call Center and was informed that at 1100 am my pickup was postponed by the Jersey City NJ Salvation Army dispatcher until August 16. At no time did I receive a call or email regarding the postponement. Canceling a pickup on the scheduled day and not being notified is a poor business practice. I tried to contact the Jersey City dispatcher 3 times and was told they were on break and then too busy to talk to me. Not taking time to talk with a customer is another poor practice and sadly the Salvation Army has lost my business and support. I will now pursue donating to other charities.

Patrick Gerrity: I recently had a donation of an oak hutch (see pic) and two other solid wood pieces declined by a pick up crew dispatched from the Newark NJ office. The reason given was "unable to accept compressed wood". I reported the disconnect to an SA dispatcher who explained that they don't actually need that type furniture. When I asked why that isn't made clear on the site, he explained that the local office does not have that level of control. I'm in the process of moving and now have a fire drill to find an alternative after waiting month for that pick up, which included a cancellation due to lack of drivers. I think The Salvation Army can do much better.

Alysia Childs: Donation scheduled for tomorrow and no information was provided for a pick-up window. Called to ask for a timeframe and the operator for NE Washington DC (named Harold) very rudely told me that the office was closed (it’s 2pm mind you) and that I should call back during business hours. When I asked how would I know when they’re arriving if I have to call back on the pickup date, he yelled “I already said they’re closed” and he hung up the phone. Isn’t the Salvation Army supposed to be a Christian organization?

Shaquaya Brown: The staff at the 12000 Washington Blvd whittier ca 90606 location are cold, callus, calculative and unwelcoming. Its apparent that the relationship between the staff and management have become unprofessional and over friendly. Which gives space for the case managers do and say as they please to the residents with no consequences. They are under staffed and in result the existing staff are overused and exhausted. With dispositions that create an uncomfortable aura. The residents are belittled and spoken to with little to no respect as adults. The staff are revenge seeking. Children services or kicking you out is there favorite threat and most formidable weapons!! The staff with holds your mail and packages days.. Several of my packages have been misplaced with no explanation. My belongings are being stolen from my room when notified, I received no sort of communication or reassurance on the matter. They serve under cooked, spoiled one course meals. Spicy food is served to children without any alternate choice. My toddler is allergic cows milk protein. Majority of whats made or offered here has some sort of dairy. Proof of allergies are requested if special meals are to be made. Even with the documentation, the accomidations aren't made, forcing kids with allergies to eat whats been made or not eat at all. My children have found hair in there food on several occasion. The cafeteria floor goes unmopped and caked up for days on end.No proper planning has taken place during this time of covid. All residents use the same pen to sign in and out of the facility. All residents use the same broom, dust pan and spray bottle, to clean in the cafeteria. The buzzer we use to be permitted inside is never sanitize. The hand sanitizer dispenser is never refilled. The building is old and the pipes/water leaks brown. My bathtub was leaking into the walls and onto the carpet creating mold and was never properly clean. Who know what amounts of toxicity me and my children have been exposed to since. The the fixtures and ceiling pieces are unstable and have to be fixed more often than not. The ceiling is often left open with wire electrical hanging out for days. They have a creature problem. Waterbugs, bed bugs, spider, prey mantis, skunks, lizards e.t.c!! My child was stung by a hornet inside of our room. When I told the staff about the at that time current incident. I was offered a broom and told "good luck"! There was a water bug about the size of a mini snicker in my bed. The residents are eaten alive by who knows what, when taking there kids to the playground on sight. The staff at this location are cold, callus, calculative and unwelcoming. The making what she be a dream come true a nightmare.

Richard Cacioppo: Held the SA in high regard until yesterday. Scheduled a donation Booked pickup TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE. Received a call the day before stating that there was a scheduling conflict and had to reschedule. This pickup was for a handicapped lady moving out of state to be taken care of by family. The pickup was scheduled for the day she was leaving. Upon confronting her landlord, he stated that if anything was left in the apartment she would lose her security deposit.. that was very troubling to her since she is on a fixed income. After several phone calls to different numbers, the problem was not resolved. Everyone I spoke with was very un-caring and unsympathetic.

markking1234: I have a good experience with salvation army. Until I moved to Albuquerque. This salvation army need to be investigated they reopen sunday severe half of the people were not wearing masks when I asked the pastor about it he said he was not going to wear one and that he dont care about what the CDC requires and if I don't like he's believe on the matter that I should go to another church. Iv been in the salvation army for 20 years

Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Diane Dales: the repugnance of corruption reached here. We drove 3 hours to get our INE card. This rep who probably was a relative or friend of some Mexican elite, attended us. We came home to find out the rep, entered "boulevard avenue" on our address info. That's not what was written there on our US ID. All she had to do was copy it. Now we have to drive 6 hours to get this corrected.

Maricela Chavez Ruiz: Great customer service, easy access parking space, amenities, shopping center

Rod Davis: Spoke with Mr. Kwuiatek (pronouned: Vi • a • tek) with regard to bringing a personal supply of Hemp Oil (CBD) into Mexico. Mr. Kwuiatek asked me to call back on tomorrow evening and he will have an answer for me!

Remo Medrano: So this address is actually wrong if you're looking for the Mexican Consulate. It is 1250 23rd st NW, Washington. DC 20037

Suzanne Doherty: My husband and my friends join me in congratulationing President Pena Nieto for having the courage to cancel his trip to Washington DC.

Jenn Perez: Really bad costumer service ! Like honestly they're super rude !

Lindsay Lamb: Amazing phone service! Very helpful in answering my travel questions!

Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago: what do users think?

Fitzgerald Alexander: The people at our Trinidad and Tobago Embassy in Washington DC are amazing and they attend to you fast and efficient i was surprised as to what i have heard about the Embassy in NewYork City my passport was supposed to come in two to three months i got my passport in six weeks .Thank you so much to the workers at Trinidad and Tobago Embassy in Washington DC.

Z: Does anyone work here? I submitted an online request for a passport appointment in March 2022 and have yet to get a response. Don't try calling...you won't get an answer.

J R: I am glad to say that me and my sister had the most wonderful experience this week after the passing of my sister we reach out to the embassy in Washington, and we were attended by Mr Morris and his co worker they took care of our passport since it was expired walk us through everything with such Professional attitude we got our emergency passport what a worm welcome from start to finish and not to mention very soft spoken . Also not forgotten the Security office all Trinidadian Thank you for all of your assistance

Lisa Surles: I'm disgusted with the service I got from a simple phone call I made to inquire about passport information. The woman who spoke to me was rude and unprofessional. I couldn't even finished my questions or conversation without being cut of and still didn't get the correct information. Everyone can be replaced their is no such thing as a secured job. I'm not going to dress nothing up for your unprofessional service. I'm not your Buddy or your friend so I wouldn't. Is is time to train your staff. We the public no longer tolerant rudeness. Come up to the 21st century.

Waleska Maderer: This government is killing our Venezuelan community ! Trinidad and Tobago doesn’t care about the Human Rights

Shivany Trujillo: Very unresponsive for weeks. Kept getting a voicemail and leaving message per instructions and no response. Finally got to talk to someone who said I just have to let my minors passport expire since they have not changed any processes to mail minor passorts during the pandemic.

Steven Ramoutar: I went in to renew my passport in the ending of April, I was assisted with such a pleasant lady who was super helpful and kind, was out in and out to my surprise in a matter of minutes. She told me it take 4-6 weeks so keep on calling to make sure its ready. Well, from that point it went downhill fast. The operator always gives you such a bad attitude, she never helpful and she had the audacity to hang up during a conversation after telling me its going to take 2-3 months. Still waiting on my passport. Note to self "ALWAYS GO BACK HOME AND RENEW", you can get it done in 1 day in Port of Spain.

Salisha Labonte: It is always easy to post a bad review but most of us don’t remember to leave a good review when things go smoothly. I went to the embassy yesterday and the “Entire” staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not think I would have gotten the documents I needed that day due to the short fused situation but I did. Additionally, due to my fault with the info I provided them I discovered an error and within hours they provided me with and updated document. I truly believe if you are kind, respectful and approach people accordingly, regardless of what country they are from they will be the same to you...well in most cases.

L WC: I have been calling this embassy for many years now since living in America. It seems as though its the same unhelpful person who answers the phone. Her only advise is to go on the website. If she is only an operator then please have her direct the call to someone who can provide more information. Terrible phone etiquette also...some training might help.

Èl Check: The secretary is very curt and not personable on phone. No smile in her tone, not pleasant to speak to. Not willing to provide info unless requested. Dont ask too many questions either. The problem is if your not privy to the process you do not know what ask. Use website as guide to ask questions. Staff down stairs are bias and will move to suit themselves. Customer is not always right nor important. They need proper training on communication and customer service. So only speak when your spoken to and smile the whole time and you will not suffer the wrath and insolence of the infamous embassy staff.

Embassy of Spain: what do users think?

Ge Dw: I applied for a shortstay visa and the process was very smooth.I got there at 11:58 am and the Guard accepted me in even though they close at at 12 noon. That was a spanish generousity. The Visa counter agents too were very kind and helped in gathering the documents. I will update when I recieve the visa and the duration it takes. So the visa was issued the next day and got received it the mail. I didn't get the multiple entries

Juan Vega: Seems like a waste of your time and money I can See that many good reviews from “local guides” and others that has a vague info. My qualifications to this is -2 stars. Check for yourself, (do not dare to try phones, do not work) educate yourself from some guidelines in webpages, I did start sending mails on February, they were responding 2 weeks later, for more and more information and then finally they told me that is no need for appointment and can visit or Monday, or Thursday between 8-12. Did my homework and travel from NC with my family, is a budget DC hotels, and transportation. (Do not forget to read all the emails, without name they respond a short response but what they include is a note that you have to proof with your driver license where you live), read everything and bring all kind o paperwork, like ask for residency in USA, will not be easy..A consular representative Did start asking everything and you will be back and forth printing and supporting docs needed travel (put imagination rampant and print your life), your finances and all your id with copies and do not forget an envelope, money in cash. You will see a Peruvian who will be the center, will make objection and different kind of request, at times 2 attentive ladies but in general rude personal that look overwhelmed and they try to get rid of you, personally believe that they do not care and not trained for the position, sad to watch, long story short, they will find the way to convince you that do not apply because you are not qualify and wasting your money. Oh well, did wanted so bad join with my family in Ecuador who is traveling there. They demand sort of updated Permanent Residence card, finally did it and started again asking this time for an appointment since last days in May, did receive in June the glorious appointment for a Wednesday. Just to be cautious but optimistic did react with joy and accept the appointment just mention that is weird you set me for Wednesday on Schengen Visa, well Next day they respond that is an error and they have appointment for August 22, jejeje just the day that my family will be in Spain. My thoughts on this is that they do not care, inefficient and not operational for this, hope you can have a different, more satisfying experience, but mine is a lot of money in a airfare tickets for whole family and hotels and frustration because Spain is not for me, will try to travel differently and erase Spain, sadly.

Lola De Prez: Washington DC location: I am a Spanish citizen living in the USA, it is frustrating, insulting and embarrassing that every time I have to renew my passport, I can't speak to a human being when calling the consulate phone number or be able to navigate the website on how complicated you make it. They treat you awful and you waste your time if you go missing necessary documents, when in person visit. The customer service for most part is embarrassing, you are treated like if you owe them a favor or something. They feel like GOD behind those desk, when in reality they are not. It is a shame because the Ambassador is always very sweet and polite, sadly bad represented by his staff. The website is user unfriendly, hard to navigate, poorly developed. Senior leaders, administrators and Web-developers: time have passed, the audience have changed and your website should be adjusted accordantly. If things are not said in the first paragraph or few sentences, you loose your audience. Also, have your staff train in customer service, they are missing this training practices. They are rude to the public and sets a bad first impression. Overall, this Washington DC location it is not the peaceful and welcoming place you will expect.

MD Family: Glad for all the people satisfied with the services at this place, which I noticed most of them are EASY & QUICK visa requests. Visited this Washington DC location in May 2022. I went there with my born in the USA young adult daughters and it was sad to hear them saying "Mom: I am not interested in keeping my Spanish citizenship if we are going to be treated so nasty every time we have to renew our passports) The guy (Peruvian accent) behind the customer service desk was rude, nasty and very unpolite. No offence to my beautiful peruvian brothers and sisters. There was 2-3 windows opened and he was addressing the person at the window he was at and commenting and jumping in the conversations happening at the other windows. VERY VERY rude man. We could tell the agent assisting us was really embarrassed of this guy jumping and interrupting her and the way he treated my family. He doesn't let visitors talk. Constantly interrupts conversations without even hearing us. He interrupts saying "it is on the website, did you read the instructions on the website etc" and if he would let us speak and hear us, he would save his words and time, instead of making the visitor leave the place with a bad taste on the mouth. I am sorry, but I concur with previous bad reviews about the customer service on this place. There is no excuse for terrible customer service, mean, rude, and unpolite agent. Embassy counsel/president/director/operator: I recommend high standards customer service training & workshops for your front desk agents. It is a shame.

Steven Binks: UPDATE: I kept pestering the embassy via email daily to ask if any earlier appointments were available, eventually they offered me an appointment just a few days away! At the appointment the consular initially would not accept the Schengen visa application of my girlfriend because the letter of invitation dates had expired (despite the letter saying dates can be extended up to 9 months). They threatened to call the police if she didn't leave, the man walked away and eventually another lady accepted her application but told her it would probably be rejected and she would not get a refund....The visa got accepted 3 days later with 90 days & multiple entry. _____ //absolutely insane, no longer able to walk in Mondays & Thursdays. need an appointment and there are no appointments for 2 months. Absolute joke, supposed to be flying to Spain end of June cant even get an appointment until end of July, so no visa. If you're that overwhelmed then hire more staff or try opening later than 1pm, and the people handling the emails are unbelievably incompetent and can't answer simple questions.

Rustam Ismoilov: My experience with Embassy of Spain was smooth. For people who want to apply for Schengen visa, you guys can come n Mondays and Thursdays no need for apt. Wish you all ✌️❤️🙏🏻

Genie Concepcion: Not quite sure why this place gets a bad rap.I can only speak of my experience applying for a tourist visa, but I found the staff to be very efficient and friendly. I was in and out in 50 minutes.

MONICA GOMEZ: This Spanish “Embassy” is an embarrassment to the Kingdom of Spain. The ladies that work here are unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and indolent. It’s very apparent that they purposely avoid any work as often as possible by dismissing persons of all nationalities (including their own) for whatever reason they can conjure. Avoid this “embassy” (it is really just a consulate) if possible.

George Ruiz: So these LOSERS won't take calls anymore, but will transfer the calls to India and the people over there have NO CLUE whatsoever about question related to the spanish citizenship !!!

Dib Dias: Very kind and efficient personnel. Please note that all transactions are in cash, they do not accept credit cards.

Washington DC VA Medical Center: what do users think?

Tri Love: For the most part my experience with the VA have been good. Sometimes the call and appointment lines take forever and hang up, and sometimes the personnel I speak to are grumpy but overall the service is good, the ER is relatively efficient, I can reach my Dr or their team with ease, and, aside from one ER incident with a certain Dr. I feel heard and well treated. My medications come fast, and the variety of programs is nice. Thank you for your service !

Venom DM: The VA wants you to call to make appointments but it's easy to be on hold for more than 30 minutes before you're disconnected. If you do go in to help get help desk staff (like in the lab on the first floor) in many departments will just look at you. No "Hello, how can I can help you?" Nothing. They just stare at you like you're interrupting something more important until you break the ice. This DC VA is consistently the lowest rated VA in the nation for a reason.

Ashton: My first experience in the cafe was terrible. Taco Tuesday at 12 noon they run out of 5+ items that up make the taco bar. Only meat, cheese and lettuce was left. The problem escalated when the cashier told me I was “entitled” for inquiring about a discount considering they discounted the food. He said “well, you still ordered it”, and even tried to charge me more than the set price. When asked about it he said he was told to charge that price yet adjusted the total to the original amount listed. I spoke with Kevin (manager) to oversee this unacceptable behavior. This service was despicable. As it is acceptable to say no, it is not acceptable to dishonor and disrespect anyone. The attitude was undeserving and unprofessional.

Artis Baskin: My most enjoyable and professional VA visit ever. I am a patient at the Yellow Clinic and had my appointment on FRI 15 APR 2022 w/ Dr. Benton. Routine physical and continued evaluation of service-connected issues. The Medical and Lab Technicians were cheerful, polite and engaging and the Phlebotomist Tsedey was amazing. Great visit...thank you for your service!

John Breske: Never used VA as a retiree. I am registered just never used it. Turns out Tricare doesn't cover audiology and hearing aids...VA does. I live just outside DC. I took the step to call the Washington VA Medical Center and register for care per the VA website. Site stated come by the office or call the number. Office is in the heart of DC...let's try the phone call. Called the number and used ext 56333 as prescribed. Automated message said experiencing longer than usual wait times...makes sense. Wait time will be longer than 3 minutes...I can handle that. If not urgent call during a less busy time...umm when would that be? Turns out I spent literally 8 hrs calling the number and experiencing 1) the phone ringing but then reverting back to the automated message or 2) the phone ringing then hanging up. I had taken the day off with no real plans and thought I would handle this task I had been procrastinating. After the the first couple hours I became determine to see how bad this VA system really is. I saw lots of reviews on how good the medical staff are. That may be so but the support system is what I feared it would be. Do a YouTube search for "trying to get an appointment to the VA hospital for my husband". Now I know why the phone never answers...absolutely terrible. Now what do I do? Drive to the heart of DC for similar service? Really? Needless to say I never completed this task.

Lauren Harcarik: Every *single* time I try to call to make an appointment, I am on hold for 20+ minutes. Several times I have been unexpectedly disconnected - even after speaking with someone - and, thus, have to call and wait again. I have been hung up on at least three times (and I just moved to this area). This is the worst of 4 VA systems at which I have been enrolled to receive care. I needed an appointment for a pap smear, and the patient call operator said, "they are not taking new patients," then hung up on me. Thank god I am not forced to rely strictly on VA healthcare, and I will look elsewhere to receive care; however, there are patients who have no other options, and this answer is completely unacceptable.

Mr. Robinson1911: The worst! We lay our lives in the this country and this is our reward. How does one ask for an appointment in May and we are told that we can be seen in January of the next year. Honestly, I don’t think some of the medical personnel is knowledgeable about their craft and they are numb to what some of us really need. This is apart of the reason all of the armed forces are low on numbers…..who wants to serve a country to be rewarded with care from people who really don’t care about you. We are just numbers and the actions of the staff justify us feeling this way.

je vf: While there, dental staff are usually nice and helpful, but they *never EVER* answer their PHONE and ridiculously, you can't make an appointment online! To get an appointment you have to physically go there IN PERSON - it's the 21st century, people, your customer service is UNSAT!

Emily Breining: VA - where support staff rides out a fed position & does the least in your favor. #1 Know your patient advocate team, keep track of your doctors(they come & go being in a large city.) Know that as a patient you have rights to accurate documentation & efficient service. Keep the VA accounatble for poor service.

Norma Hernandez: Was forced to transfer out. After months of not being able to get an appt for Specialty, minutes to hours of waiting on the phone. They don't call you back. They can't seem to find your referral because it took so long to get through. Unfortunately they are tied to the VA clinic at Ft Belvoir.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington, D.C. Downtown: what do users think?

Diarelys Camilo: This place was great for myself and my children. The rooms are a lot smaller than I expected but comfortable. The girls in the front desk were very helpful and friendly. My only disappointment was that my digital key did not work during my stay and after I paid for valet parking they told me they did not have a parking space available for me. However, they accomodated me as best as they could which I appreciated. The hotel is close to all attractions but use your car or your feet will hurt! Great place to stay. :)

Susan Cassidy: The staff of this hotel are kind and welcoming. They really keep an eye on things, which I appreciate. We felt like we were safe and in good hands during our stay. We found the location really terrific, the lobby and room very comfortable. I was with two other family members, and we got connecting rooms, which made the stay quite enjoyable. Love having the equipped kitchen -- many thanks for including the corkscrew!!

Jim Smith: The hotel fit our need for an overnight family trip with the bedroom, living room and kitchen. Hilton is my first choice when traveling and have stayed at many locations and the people working are very friendly and helpful. This one was in decent condition but the staff seemed possibly overwhelmed. The room could have been cleaner, especially the couch that was very worn and dirty. Understanding that services are limited these days, the breakfast wasn't having much of a selection and ran out quickly. I do commend the manager on duty who was trying to keep everything together
Response: Hi Jim Smith - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As the cleanliness of our hotel is a key priority, we are very sorry your room fell short of our high standards. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared to foster improvements. For this reason, we hope to have the opportunity to deliver a more pleasant experience on a return visit.

donna minchew: The staff is excellent. I had a difficult time finding the hotel and kept going around the circle and missing the street. They tried their best to help but I found a police officer that gave me directions and I made it. I came primarily to see the Panda Cub and my niece! The staff called the cab for me to take to the zoo and dinner with my niece. They always had smiles on their faces. I would stay again if I cannot find a hotel closer to the zoo.

Rachel Barker: Very nice suite style hotel. Has a business center, laundry room, shop, gym. Free breakfast is really good. All the employees are amazing! Close to metro and downtown DC! Would recommend

Kelvin Yong: Bad staff attitude. Particularly, Danielle Edwards is the worst front desk person I have ever met. Tried to check in @3:30 and was told to wait till 4pm. Then, Danielle told me to check back in 45 min with no explanation. Luckily, I did not sit around at the lobby. My room was not ready until 645pm!! Then the same bad attitude from Danielle when I get the luggage from the storage. Other staffs were professional, but my experience was ruined by one unprofessional front desk staff.
Response: Hello Kelvin Yong - We apologize for the poor service you received and for the long wait during the check-in process. This is unacceptable! We will share this feedback with our Front Desk team members and use it as a training opportunity to prevent issues like this in the future. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and leaving us invaluable feedback.

Amberly Nunn: I am on my first night of my first Spring Break since Covid trying to enjoy time with my family. Instead, I am spending the night talking to workers in a nightmare situation. I booked a Homewood Suites, there are two right down the road from each other. I must have booked the wrong one (the one without a pool) and my kids were devastated upon arrival. I spoke with the lady at the front desk and she said she would work with me to get it switched. I called the other Homewood and they were full, so they put me in Embassy instead, still Hilton owned. Now Homewood is not wanting to work with me and is charging me one night stay, saying I left voluntarily. While true, I thought it was with the understand that the woman at the desk would waive the night, especially since I am a VERY dedicated Honors member. I am disappointed and at a loss for words. I will now be paying an extra $450 for a hotel I will not be staying in. We had to save up quite a bit to stay at this brand in the first place; I expected a little compassion.
Response: Thank you for the review, Amberly Nunn. We would like the opportunity to investigate this further. Could you please contact us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport or call our team at (202) 265-8000?

benjamin albano: Room was clean and roomy for 5 ppl. Had issue with lock to room and it was resolved with no inconvenience. Tub in bathroom was small and tub isn't level so water stays in tub(be careful) and water does not drain fast enough so you are standing in ankle deep water.

Kristin Foy: Edit...I would like to add that the $300 was taken off and a night was comped. Also, the front desk staff was so nice and professional, but it felt like they didn't have the follow through from housekeeping. Terrible Service... I'm not one to complain, but from the moment we checked in, we struggled to get anything we needed. Parking was full, we were given the wrong type of room, we were arbitrarily charged an extra $300 that even the hotel staff didn't understand (still waiting on a resolution), our room was never cleaned despite numerous requests over 6 days, basic requests for at least towels, a pillow, or empty trash went unanswered. Avoid!
Response: Hello Kristin Foy - We are so sorry to hear about these issues you had to deal with while staying with us. We are looking into this internally. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can collect some more information about your room. This would be a tremendous help to us in resolving these issues.

Hampton Inn Washington, D.C./White House: what do users think?

Nancy Schwier: I just spent last week at this motel and was highly impressed! Our room was Very comfortable and Spotless. The Location is Perfect!!! We felt very safe here! Within walking distance and So close to all attractions, metro, restaurants and services. Every morning we enjoyed their full breakfast which was always wonderful with a ton of choices. The front desk staff were very kind, helpful, and friendly. This is probably the nicest experience I've had in years. Thank you for being so Wonderful!!

Andrea van Hintum (Avh): Location, maintenance staff, and breakfast were all 5 stars. My reason for 3 stars - for the cost we paid to stay here for 4 days, not worth it. Our room did not have a microwave or fridge. I called and was told you have to choose 'premium' rooms for that. I've been to less quality hotels and have always received a room with a fridge and microwave. The front desk did have a spare mini fridge we could use and that was brought up right away by maintenance. We also requested a crib - which maintenance also brought up asap. We could not use this crib for my baby. The floor panel of the crib was literally a piece of cardboard broken in half. You would think they have the budget for decent quality. Front desk, I do give 3 stars. I called to receive extra towels and it took one whole day to receive my towels. I called back every hour and it was always a new person who I did not talk to previously. Not the biggest help. They were nice, but again for the price we paid (over $1K) I would have preferred to stay something more elite.
Response: We are so sorry to hear we let you down, Andrea van Hintum (Avh). Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention and for taking the time to leave us a review. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport or call our team at (202) 296-1006 so we can look into this further.

G Neary: I've stayed at many hotels but this one in particular we've found to be the most accommodating and friendly we've ever work with. We regularly make trips to DC and stay at no other place than this Hampton Inn. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. We highly recommend it. Their front desk staff, Valet parking, and those throughout the hotel all work hard to ensure guests are happy with their stay and again, we would go nowhere else than this Hampton Inn. If our plans find that the hotel is booked, rather than find accommodations at another hotel, we just change our dates to ensure we can stay at this Hampton Inn White House, in Washington DC.

Victoria Covarrubias: Great place to stay! Only 1 block from the metro which is super convenient. They do make you use their valet parking if you bring a car, which is $50+/night, but it was kind of nice to not have to worry about parking your car and remembering where you parked! Ghey were really speedy about bringing your car up when you were ready for it. Breakfast was delicious! They do have a buffet style breakfast available, complete with make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, cereal, potatoes and sausage. Our room was really close to the elevator but I never heard people in the hallways at night. We were on the 3rd floor so there was some road noise from H street at night. The blackout curtains are spectacular!! I'd stay here again!

Nick V: My family got robbed while staying at this hotel. I locked away my mother's purse in the safe in our room, while we were staying there. When I checked it on the next day, the cash bills in the purse were gone. My mother had around $400 in cash in my purse, and there was absolutely nothing in her purse on the next day. Considering that the elevators, the rooms and the safe all requires key card access or knowledge of how to unlock them, I strongly suspect it was one of the hotel staff. The manager and the staff of the hotel were extremely unhelpful, they checked the key card access of the time frames when I was gone from the hotel and “found” absolutely nothing. There are no cameras in the hallways or the elevators in this hotel, so the hotel staff could not even investigate anything properly. Since my family was there for only 2 nights and had a lot of plans to do, we decided not to call the police since it was not worth our time to waste another 3 hours with the cops. I am extremely disappointed that this Hilton-owned hotel that looked reputable at first has such shady employees and robberies happening to its customers. They probably do not want to put cameras in the hotel hallways since it will expose the shady activities of their employees, who prey on people who stay there only for couple of nights. Looking back at it, I probably should have pushed even harder at the managers of the hotel and the staff. We spent over an hour investigating the situation, but the manager was more concerned about his own job preservation and dodging the case to his own higher-ups. It might have been only 400 dollars, but it's completely unacceptable that it can go missing in such nice hotel in a good location. My family is never staying at this hotel ever again and please watch your money (especially cash) if you are currently staying there!

Michelle Brown: Room was clean, bed was very hard and pillows were very flat feathered, probably need updating. Very expensive for a 2 star hotel. Great location! A few blocks from the Whitehouse. Very walkable area and convenient to the Metro. Check your receipt before checking out! We had 5 nights of parking charged at $49 a night and we didn't have a car.
Response: Hello Michelle Brown - We are so sorry to hear about these issues you had to deal with while staying with us. We are looking into this internally. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can collect some more information. This would be a tremendous help to us in resolving these issues.

Brian McClure: Nice, well-maintained location. Clean room with a very nice front staff that treated us well. Breakfast was good and the hotel lobby was nice and large for plenty of seating. Very close to the White House.Would definitely stay here again.

Drew Kenyon: We loved our stay at this hotel. The breakfast was good enough to get you going each morning and the location was elite. We walked everywhere from our hotel! The Washington monument was only about 15 minutes if you walked and there is a lot to see over there. The room was clean, and the service was incredibly nice. 10/10 will be staying here every time we visit DC. Panera bread is across the street from the building (roughly 140 feet) and McDonald’s is right around the corner (4 minute walk if you’re a sloth) Great hotel!!

Nick Running: Stayed at many Hampton inns and this one was just OK at best. Our room would not heat at all, stuck at 64 all day and night, pretty cold! The shower had black mold all over. The worst part was the bed, and absolute rock! I would suggest the garden inn just a few blocks east.

The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center: what do users think?

Gi Gi: Beautiful hotel, the staff is amazingly nice and knowledgeable. We were here for an event for 6 days and had the best of times. The rooms were really nice and clean, housekeeping did a great job. The beds and pillows are super comfy. It's within walking distance of everything. There's a nice bar in the lobby. The conference rooms were nice as well. The food provided was really nice as well during our meals. Overall great place to stay.

Eileen Flaherty: I found the location too far from any of the main sites. Way too far for me. I also did not feel safe in the area where it is located. There are homeless tents very close by. Some of the homeless were aggressive in approaching me. I did not feel safe to leave the hotel after dark which affected my stay. I will not stay there again. The hotel staff and restaurant/bar staff were very nice and helpful.

Howard Smith: Five stars because of the nice lady at the front desk that checked us in, she's really nice. The valet parking personnel were nice as well. A lady brought us a luggage cart on the morning that we checked out, she was nice as well. Lobby is nice, staying staying above the first floor was nice, look down at lobby and or looking up at all the floors. Elevators were nice. Rooms were nice but walls and ceilings seem to be dated or old. If I think of anything else to say, will update here later.

Mary Carter Scott: The first thing I noticed was how dated the hotel was, which in and of itself isn't a major issue. The room was OK at first, but we immediately noticed that the walls were paper thin. We could hear every conversation, every sneeze, phone ring, etc in the neighboring rooms (both sides.) And to make matters worse, one of the neighboring rooms had friends come to their room at 3:30 AM until about 4:30 AM which kept me wide awake. In all fairness, I couldn't call the front desk to complain because they were just talking and hanging out in their room, which they had every right to do. But probably the worst issue of all was that the shower was lukewarm at best. It never got anywhere remotely approaching hot, making showering incredibly unpleasant. And the shampoo and conditioner were hodgepodge different brands which was strange. The positives were some of the staff we met, especially the bartender we met Saturday night. Overall, out of every Marriott/ Westin we have stayed in, this was by far the worst experience.

Ece Ozkan: Overall good location and decent hotel chain yet poor customer service in this particular hotel. A good amount of the rooms face the inner courtyard which is looking at the bar, and even though the bar gets closed at 11 pm you'd still hear noise. If you are in town for work I don't recommend this hotel or if you stay here avoid the rooms facing the courtyard. Other than that overall customer service is pretty poor, during my 3 night stay I had house keeping/ cleaning once, which may also be the hotel policy yet not communicated well to customers. The hotel building itself is pretty old and not well maintained, the shower was leaking and the hair drier was broken.

Random Email: The DC Westin was in poor condition. The room was clean upon arrival, but was not cleaned during my multi-day stay - I was informed this “upon request”, something I have never encountered at a Westin or any other hotel for that matter. The check in was functionally fine “I need your passport and credit card”, but there was no please or thank you or smile of any kind - a very curt and unwelcoming experience. Oh, and don’t forget, the Westin doesn’t offer room service “because of Corona” - like seriously you’re still using that excuse? “We can’t find staff”. Really? Have you considered paying people more for the hard work they do in hotels? Room rates have certainly gone up, so how about sharing some of that excess profitability with your overworked long-suffering unappreciated staff? Maybe if you did that, they would smile more and actually make their clients happy. It almost seems like a deliberate choice by Marriott to let Westin move downmarket since its takeover, because this is now my second Westin stay since corona reopening, and both times have been very rundown.

Lauren Johnson: My father came to stay over thanksgiving weekend to visit my sister who currently lives and works in DC as a medical professional. I am writing this on his behalf as he has said that he absolutely adores this hotel and finds it to be one of the most well kept, clean, and beautiful hotels he’s ever stayed at. My father is a veteran who served 20 years in the military and has been to many places and stayed in countless hotels in his career. He finds this hotel to have some of the kindest staff with some of the best accommodations that he’s ever stayed in. He finds the bellman and valet staff to be especially kind and accommodating which goes a long way for out of town travelers (such as himself). As his daughter who has worked in the industry for many years, I find his kind words endearing and genuine as ‘post’ pandemic difficulties can be challenging. Thank you for taking such great care of my father and I can assure you when we return to the city of DC (which will be very frequent) we will stay nowhere else.

Melanie Merriken: Easy to find and they have a parking garage right next door. There is also valet parking if you are interested. Everyone that works there seems very pleasant and helpful. We were even able to check into our room early

mmchirico: Convenient and clean. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was in a good location, near a nice neighborhood with fun restaurants. We changed rooms during our stay because some partiers had arrived, but at least we were permitted to do so without a fuss. And two months afterwards, I called the hotel for assistance with a lost item, and they were more than willing to help. Very gracious front desk!

Dhivy@ kv: Worst stay ever. Most unreliable front desk staff. Had 3 nights booking made a month ago. Called and confirmed the stay 2 days prior, Also did an online check in. Still when we arrived in the middle of the night, they said it's overbooked and they re directed us to nearby hotel, saying that we can come back next day to stay at Westin. So we did as they said, checked out next day, confirmed with the Westin front desk, dropped our luggage and came back to check in and heard that they are overbooked again. All they can say is "system error". Now they want us to go back to the same hotel, check in and check out the next day to come back to Westin again. I would have rather chosen a mid tier but a reliable hotel than this best unreliable one.
