Firefly: what do users think?

Sadhana G: Went to this beautiful place for brunch on a Sunday. The food was a whole new level of excitement! Presentation and quality of the food and the good ambience set the right tone for the weekend. But the only setback was the price. We had an Egg frittata, chicken and waffles and Egg Benedict-crab ( the chef special) and it cost us 70$. A great place to grab finger food in a cute setting !

Garner Marshall: Excellent breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is pretty scarce around the area. Staff is excellent. Good is delicious. Music is diverse. Location is convenient. This is going to be one of my new favorite breakfast spots.

Steven Power: Wonderful location and the food is pretty good. The prices are very high. Brunch for two with no drinks besides one cup of black coffee was $50 for one order of French Toast, one Avocado Toast, and a side of fruit. The service was good overall, but one small thing annoyed me somewhat. We were there for Saturday brunch so I ordered a cup of black coffee right when the waitress first came over. The coffee, which they charged $5 for, finally came a minute before our food. I drank it quickly, thinking that for $5 for a tiny cup, a refill would be in order. No such luck. I don't know if asking for a refill would have taken another 20 minutes and cost another $5, but at that point in the meal, I didn't bother. Overall, a solid 5-stars. The location and ambiance outside are really great.

Mariia Sarlayan: Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful interior, pleasant vibe. A bit pricey for brunch but worth it. I wish more tables outside had umbrellas for shades but even then the experience was memorable.
Response: Mariia, We are definitely wowwed by your amazing review and grateful for your comments. I hope we'll see you again soon, for another memorable experience! Please be safe and well until then. Sincerely, Anastasiia Firefly General Manager

Kim S: The food, service, and ambiance were excellent! My only disappointment was that they weren't open for dinner Sundays because we were looking forward to going back.

Linden Yee: Solid brunch, overall recommend. The eggs on the benedict were pretty undercooked but the flavors were good, and the chicken and waffles were really well seasoned. Service was pretty slow, and the staff seemed to be up against a lot. While the waiter was great, they appeared to be the only one working the entire restaurant.

Khadija Khan: The restaurant has changed a lot since the last time I was here! Really friendly staff and nice ambiance! My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly French toast with the jalapeño honey! It’s an Interesting combo but I really liked it. Our server recommended a really yummy mocktail! The food was a little pricey so I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again any time soon, but the dishes were innovative and delicious.
Response: Khadija, Thank you for the great review and the photos you shared from your recent visit at Firefly. Love to hear the our food and service left a great impression. I do hope you'll come abck again soon. Warmest Regards, Anastasiia, General Manager, Firefly

idcwhatcoloritis: This had to be an off night cause the place was interesting. The old arcade games were cool and our waitress did her best with a terrible situation. Two of our three meals were barely warm at best and cold at worst. The other was basically frozen salmon from a grocery store on what looked like Couscous but was actually rice some how. They nuked our food in the microwave and brought it back out. The vegan burger both smelled and tasted like fish. Completely inedible. All in all, the food was terrible all around. The only plus to this experience was the owner who took both meals off our bill and bought us a round of shots to make up for it after there POS system went down. We saw at least 10 plates go back to the kitchen while we were there. I don’t think this is normal cause most of the people there seemed like regulars and were super confused by there food. I think it was an off night but I don’t think any of my group will be returning.
Response: Greetings, Thank you for your feedback I just would like to double check, is this review for Firefly Restaurant located at 1310 New Hampshire Ave NW Washington DC. We don’t have old arcade games at our restaurant. Thank you Anastasiia Hehelska Restaurant GM

Lisa Mayberry: Cute little place for brunch out of the way in a hotel down New Hampshire Street. Outside patio seating is nice for a cool day with the umbrella up.
Response: Lisa, Thank you for your recent visit to Firefly and the excellent review. We could not agree more, the Terrace is a great place to relax, people watch and enjoy one (or two) of our amazing cocktails. Please come back soon! Sincerely, Anastasiia Firefly General Manager

S P: Everything about this restaurant Amazing and I mean everything! I went once and I can't stop going back I tell everyone to go best chicken and waffles I have ever had! Drink and beautiful and delicious

Pinstripes: what do users think?

Raja Haider Hussain: Went for dinner with family this evening. This location is perfect for a weekend drinks, lunch and dinner. One of the best spots near Georgetown waterfront. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and both options offer a lively ambiance. The staff is very attentive , efficient and courteous. They have carefully selected menu and the food we ordered was served fresh and the quality was above par. Their Calamari, Wings, Pizza, Ceasar Salad, Lasagna and chicken sandwiches were really good. However the grilled chicken with Caesar salad was very dry and not that great. We were also offered dessert on the house ( Brownie and ice cream) which was delicious. Over all a nice hangout spot and highly recommended for a casual friendly outing with good food and surroundings.

Khoi Nguyen: Great place for happy hour. I've dined here multiple times. Stopped by on a busy Sunday. My family and I ate some truffle fries, flat breads and wings. The wings are a must order especially the spicy calabrese. Prices are reasonable and on Sunday HH is between 6-10 pm. The drinks weren't bad either. You can get mixed cocktails for around $6. Fun place to celebrate something or enjoy some happy hour food and drinks. Service is always at a high-level

Benjamin W.: Went here for bowling. Reserving a lane means a server will periodically come by and take food + drink orders. The only thing is their happy hour menu isn't valid while bowling. I'm already spending money to bowl, why can't I get some cheap beer and snacks. Food and drinks were good and staff was responsive. Bowling was fun, so I'd go back. Maybe offer bowling only food and drink specials and clearly state where the happy hour menu is valid up front. Overall solid experience.
Response: Dear Benjamin, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and feedback! We are so glad you had a wonderful time bowling at Pinstripes. Hope to see you again soon!

Mark Orebiyi: My project team had out quarterly engagement activity at Pinstripes recently. We had a slot from 4-6pm. They give you a 15min grace period which is nice. We started bowling and 30 minutes in our lane started acting up. The lane mechanic came to fix it while me and my team ordered food. The food is fantastic. From the wings to the pizza we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our lane was never fixed. After an hour from when it stopped working we were offer to go play Bocce Ball for 30min prior to use leaving. The Manager (Leo) was very accommodating and cover our bowling cost as we well as you bocce ball game. Although they had issues the food was amazing and they took good care of us.

Brian Harvey: Great time. Kid friendly which I appreciated. Great kids menu and great service.
Response: Dear Brian, Thank you for your review! We are so happy that you appreciate our kid friendly venue! We hope to see you again soon!

Fredrik Otter: Generous portions and innovative kitchen. Happy Hour prices are fantastic and the location fabulous. Slow service, but when the weather is nice that is only a plus!

Bri M: It was my first time bowling at Pinstripes. We had a great time. I will definitely return. The food was awesome and the staff very friendly and attentive. Found that the music was a little loud at times but overall it was a great experience. Parking is underneath and accessible off of Wisconsin Avenue which is very convenient if you are not one to look for street parking. Highly recommend if getting together with family and friends interested in experiencing an upscale bowling activity.
Response: Dear Bri, Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad you enjoyed the food, service and bowling! We hope to see you again soon!

Lucie Lautenschlager: Waiter were very kind they know how to do their job. I loved the food. All of it the desert especially I loves going bowling their and from being somewhere not luxurious then this is taking it 2 steps up and I'm in love with this place. I'd recommend to stop and dine in for good food. Have to come again when I visit again. The price and flavor of the food is perfect.
Response: Dear Lucie, Thank you for your review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with fun bowling, delicious food and service! We are so glad you enjoyed the desert as well! We cannot wait to see you at Pinstripes again soon!

Ali Azad: Great place to hang out with the kids, a little pricey but we’ll worth it
Response: Dear Ali, Thank you for your review! We are so glad that you and your kids enjoyed your visit! We hope to see you again soon!

Stephen Balza: Just enjoyed a nice meal outside along the C&O Canal on a stunning July evening. Our server was friendly, efficient, and attentive. The food portions (Baked Lasagna and Chicken Sandwich) were on the small side, but tasty and moderately priced. It’s a unique place in a great location (Wisconsin Ave a couple blocks from M St and a couple blocks from the Waterfront). We didn’t try the bocce or bowling but it was full of folks who were enjoying it.
Response: Dear Stephen, Thank you for the five star review. We are thrilled you enjoyed our delicious selection of dishes on our patio. We are glad you enjoyed our Lasagna and Chicken Sandwich. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and hope to see you again soon for bowling and bocce.

Logan Tavern: what do users think?

Nomad USA: Super chill neighborhood tavern. The host there is generally pretentious and cold. I’ve had this issue getting seated at the LT in the past. Their hosts is is far from friendly as is imaginable. Even with the place completely empty, getting a booth probably requires a some type of cash payoff. The servers are super chill and helpful. Menu is great. Wide variety of appetizers and entrees. I had the BBQ Korean wings and the LT burger with truffle fries. The LT burger was just a buck more, truffle fries 2 bucks more, all super tasty and perfect medium rare. They have little alcove by the bar, great for people watching, and the requisite long bar for a casual lunch or dinner. Bathroom. 6/10 for cleanliness.

Kiffa Shirley: Wanted to try something new and made our way to Logan Tavern over the weekend. We ordered the empanada appetizer, and the figgy burger with truffle and B.A.B Grilled Cheese. Everything was delicious but I may have overdone my taste buds with the truffle. They were tasty fries but next time I will just get to enjoy the burger with regular fries. Can't wait to return.

Matthew Cook: Very good food. Plenty of menu variety so everyone should be able to find something. Including some decent vegetarian dishes. Good cocktail and beer selection. Extremely friendly staff and very efficient.

Hong Hanh Dinh: Amazing service here. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly, giving us all the best recommendations and attentive to our needs. The food was amazing. I loved the steak and eggs, it wasn't an aggressive portion but the right sized to be full and comfortable without the discomfort and regret afterwards that you've over eaten. The bloody Marys were awesome! They offer different kinds of bloody Marys and you can choose which topping you'd like. There is also a huge boot sized bloody Mary but i went for an easy individual size. The dessert options are so great. I love the Mango key lime pie which I think is the restaurant favorite. Would come back again and again!

Jay Vizcarra: LGBTQ+ friendly with great eats! I had one of the famous cheeseburgers on the menu which was super tasty. Usually hopping with great people eating there. Centrally located with a pleasant neighborhood walk surrounded by other places to eat in the area.

Darnice Ward: Logan Tavern was a great choice for an after graduation celebration. None of us had ever been to Logan Tavern as we are from out of state. In our party of 14 only 2 of our party members were from the area, and they had never been either. The did not have a table on Open Table to seat all of us so I reserved several tables and hoped they could seat us near one another. I called and talked to someone who said they would and they OVER delivered and seated us together!!! Our food was delicious and each person was happy with their selection. Although the menu is not extensive it has something for everyone. We had everything from wings, burgers, dip, salad and seafood pasta. Drinks were tasty and the alcohol in them was of average amount. Our waiter. He got every order correct and was consistent with checking on us. He brought found out in a timely fashion and waited for me because I was sitting between both tables. He seemed to have another big party as well. However, the only thing is that he seemed slightly annoyed NOT rude just bothered. We would definitely return again if back in the area. Right now it is tough to service the public so I understand our waiter may have been overwhelmed, please be kind to our service workers.

John G: Logan Tavern, an old favorite over the years, haven’t frequented there as much as I used to. However, I’ve stopped in recently for the greatest drinks made by bartender John. Logan has a great fried chicken classic, with wonderful homemade mashed potatoes and generally Swiss chard… I prefer the asparagus, though, so make sure you ask if you want something different. Chipotle chicken sandwich is wonderful as well, and more recently, I have fallen in love with the pulled pork barbecue sandwich, minus the bun… and a couple extra pickle slices! Bartender John is fantastic at getting your order right, your food tasty, even while I subtract a few calories with a few changes! Thanks John for keeping Logan, local, lovely, and (de)licious!

Patty Cannon: Excellent food & service! The chef came out to meet us and to be certain we were happy! Such a wonderful adventure for us! A large group of 10 and there were several couples enjoying dinner around us...as well as bar seating. Excellent choice for dinner!

courtney mims: Nice place but parking can be a challenge. My husband loved the burger and my sister enjoyed the asparagus salad. The garlic and parmesan fries are yummy but I wasn't a fan of the Buffalo shrimp. It was swimming in sauce and too rich with the blue cheese added. The drinks are good and we love that it is pet-friendly.

Michele R McConnell: We had a great experience. I have a food sensitivity / allergies and they were very accommodating. Aubry was a fabulous server and kept up with our drinks and food. The chef came out and discussed food options for myself and delivered!

THRōW Social™: what do users think?

Keya H: Overall, Throw Social is ok. I have been twice and had two different experiences. The first time was very fun and we did axe throwing. The service was good and the instructor was fun. I had zero complaints and did a completely separate review for Kick Axe. The most recent time I went, we did the game where you throw the football into the bowling pins. It was fun for what it was, but I'm not pressed to go again. I think I had so much fun axe throwing, this doesn't compare. Also, the service was very bad upstairs.

Angeli Paray: As a new spot, this place gets one star. The service was spotty. Which means she took our order and forgot half of it. She took our drink order and forgot half of it. We weren’t a big group , party or 5. She constantly “forgot to put it in” when we asked for sides to our meals or drinks. It was ultra crowded on Saturday around 7pm. Couldn’t walk. Couldn’t play any games. Couldn’t do anything. This place may very well be over hyped. A ton of young kids were in there I would say 18-19. Which made the location even more u desirable. The coconut shrimp comes with 3 shrimp …. And I ordered a side of fries to go and it was the smallest amount of fries I’ve seen for $5. Worst than Wendy’s or McDonald’s. I felt as though I wasted my money going there. The live music was late as usual. And when they did go on, it was good! I try my best to leave honest reviews and I am very much a real person not someone who’s paid to write bad or good reviews. . @angeli_il
Response: Angeli We apologize for your experience at Throw Social. We aim to give the best guest service and it seems we failed on your visit. Being new we are still working out some of the kinks and with how busy we are on the weekends we are coming up with solutions on how to give better service. We thank you for bringing your issue to our attention and assure you that we are working hard of fixing these problems. Thank you Robert Sweers Vice President The Ginger Companies

Gabby Bonilla: Beautiful (and punny) decor, staff was amazing, and drinks/food were good! We missed our original axe throwing time, but the staff was able to set us up for an open/later time. Just an FYI, if you’re in a team of 2, you’ll be set up with a section of other people (so there was 6 of us strangers at a station). Luckily the people we were with were cool
Response: So thrilled you had a blast with us, Gabby (and appreciated our punny signs)! :) Looking forward to hopefully having you back soon!

Its Me Jessica: This place was so much fun! We did the football throwing! We had such a blast! Got a bucket of seltzers which were also really good. Food was delicious.

S C: We had a party of 24. Throw was accommodating with planning the night and making adjustments to my reservation. Never had one person complain over the phone or via email. Our double cabana was beautiful, the games were great and the food was good. I only had 1 concern and that was the serving staff seemed overwhelmed with such a large party. They bought out food and just sat it down instead of trying to figure out who ordered what. The person that took our order was not the same as the staff that delivered. That's not a problem, just probably requires asking who ordered what before just leaving the food. We will return with less people.

Harold Williams: Where do I start!!! I love the energy of the whole entire team however Cameryn was freaking amazing. She got our food and our drinks ( which was really nice and strong) on time and full of love. Not once did I have to ask for anything. We definitely need her AGAIN she just fits right in!!! And it was only my first time. Just a heads up, it does get crowded really fast and if you wanna indulge in the axe throwing, or bowling football you might wanna get there early. Overall the live band was really cool, food was decent, and the atmosphere was very friendly. I'm for sure I will be back next Saturday.
Response: Thanks for the review, Harold! Stoked to hang out again!

Katlyn Lehmann: Such an amazing venue! We came here for a bachelorette party and it was so incredible. The games, band, and drinks made the night so special. Great service!
Response: Katlyn happy to hear you enjoyed our location. Thank you for the review

Tee Martin: Came here to celebrate my brothers going away party and guys (21+) are hard to impress. We booked a cabana and they had a great time with the sports games. Food and drinks were good. Customer service was great! I recommend

Nolan Randolph: Great place to grab a drink. Our bartender, Tom, was speedy and kind. The Throw Social Amber was quite tasty. We sat down and played some games laid out on the table: a game of chess, and some 90’s trivia.
Response: Nolan Glad to hear you had a great time. We will let Tom know hid did a phenomenal job.

Morgan Opperman: INCREDIBLE space! Perfect date night spot or night out with friends/family. The attention to detail in the decor, atmosphere and food/drinks is above anything I've ever seen. You feel like you are in another world when you walk into throw social with photo ops around every corner. We can't wait to come back, definitely our go to spot in DC. Thank you for an incredible experience!!!!
Response: The decor is one of our favorite parts of the whole venue too! We're thrilled you had a blast and felt like you went on a mini vacation. :) That's our goal!

City Tap House Dupont: what do users think?

Godden Garden: My friend and I sat at the bar. While sitting there she noticed that the bartender was drunk or had been drinking. She observed him making drink and moisture from his hands was falling into the drinks he was making. We didn't drink out drinks. Then we talked about what we should do next. She asked for a manager. She told him what she observed. He insisted that the bartender wasn't drunk or drinking. The bartender was sent home for the day. We got new drinks and ordered our food. The mussels was missing from our order was missing but someone bring it out very quickly afterwards. The food was good. I don't know if I'd come back again.

Lou Costanza: The food was OK. We shared the Brussels spouts appetizer and each had an entree. The key lime pie for dessert was good. Service was a bit slow, but the server was friendly. Rest room wasn’t extremely dirty per se but I can’t describe it as clean if that makes sense. It was a decent experience overall.

Eric Erwin: This is a great place to get a drink and a wood fired pepperoni pizza! No chaotic like the other bars in the area, but still pretty busy. Big plus are the hours which is why we ate here three times on vacation. All three times were consistent with food and service. Great job!

Sydnye White: Six of us from the office got various entrees and everyone was happy. I loved my goat cheese and beet salad. Shout out to Malik for taking great care of us!

Polina Antipova: Brunch is good! Try shrimp and grits. I liked the interior too.

Allen Nuccio: We had an excellent server and sat outside, which was nice. I ordered a pasta dish which was overcooked and gummy, and honestly one of the weirdest "Italian" dishes I've tasted. It was very heavy on tomato flavor, and had a heavy cream flavor despite being a thin sauce. It had some kick which was nice. I don't know, I wouldn't order it again. My coworkers both had burgers that they liked.

cassandra bierworth: The drag brunch was a blast! Our server was amazing and the food was so tasty. I would recommend the French toast or the breakfast pizza. Don't forget to get some cash so you can tip those glamorous Queens!!

Justin Newell: Very disappointing overall... The food was decent, everything else was terrible. The host seemed we were a bother so we just took some bar space. Went unhelped until after another few guests who came in after us were helped. 2 different waitresses seemed unable to figure out who was doing what and getting drink orders was a struggle.. Finally got a few beers and ordered food. They brought out my buddy's long before mine, vs serving the whole order at once. Finally got my food but struggled to get another drink after that. Bad all around. Can't recommend and wouldn't visit again.

Tom F: We had fun hanging with locals and watching hockey (unfortunately Caps lost in OT!) and were very thankful it wasn't crowded on a Friday night at 8pm! Beer selection very good as expected from experience with the 2 City Taps in Philly (although honestly they could've tried harder than the single obligatory Ginness offering offering in the porters/stouts category, despite the fact it's spring) but the food was also tasty, fresh with good sized portions. I had the Cubano and would order again (although bread was Reuben style and not Cuban style, at all... still wonderful 😀
Response: Thanks Tom! Yes the OT loss was BRUTAL! Next year….

Theodore Wong: New bar. Big screen TVs, daily happy hour from 3-6pm. Friendly staff. Over 50 seats around the huge bar

Moreland's Tavern: what do users think?

Duane H (WendysFrosty): Went here with my boss and coworkers for lunch. Love the environment, menu and prices. The margarita was well balanced and the food was great!Highly recommend if you are in the area!In walking distance of Citi Open!

Mario Aleman: It's a really nice place, located near residential areas. The staff is super nice and kind. They offer draft beer so you have the choice to ask for a free sample of each one before ordering. Food is nothing out of the ordinary, but was really good and fast. One way of describing food is "what you are used to, but in a better way. The only downside is that you have to make reservations to dine inside, otherwise you have to stay at the bar.

Anna Trotsenko: This place was amazing! The staff make you feel like a local and they are so kind. They know their stuff and they get you your food on time. My food was so delicious and high quality. This is a place everyone should go to!

Kyle Shirley: Wow! I just can't say enough about this place. The menu changes often enough, but always feels comforting and familiar. The Buffalo cauliflower is just stupid delicious. Service is quick and friendly. Cocktails and beverage selection is great. 10/10 for a great neighborhood spot.

Kathy G.: The restaurant is quaint and cozy, perfect for a date night or any other meal! It’s small - so it’s not great if there are loud children….but it is easily one of our new fave places! The Brussel sprouts were so delicious that I was literally doing a happy dance while eating them!

Adam Kapp: Great local spot! House cocktails, plenty of vegetarian options, and friendly service. Reservations were required when I visited. The outdoor space is really nice and good distance between tables. Hope to be back soon!

Brian Murphy: This place is great! The food is always great I love the burger and the fried chicken sandwich, plus three seafood dishes are always great. The drinks menu always has a good beers with a nice variety of local breweries and national greats on tap and great cocktails. We've always felt welcomed when we are there, too. The staff is very friendly. This is a neighborhood gem. The patio space is A+

Kelsey: Moreland's Tavern is tucked away in a residential area which just add to the charm of the place. Great food and service with a lot of regulars. One of the best spots in DC!

Giuliana DI: Support this place to keep a restaurant in the neighborhood, though food is average for the price. Nice outdoor eating area, but they close too early on spring/summer evenings.

Fidel Quintela: Nice neighborhood watering hole and eatery. Quite possibly the only Brightwood watering hole and eatery. The beer selection is reliable. The menu is a little too limited and static but fine if you're not going there every week. Equally or even more important is the great service, reasonable prices and great outdoor seating. If only good weather lasted all year long.

Mark Darwin: Low key bar with a great selection of beers on tap. Didn’t try the food, but the options looked good.

Gina Elliott: I had my fathers 60th birthday here. The booking of the event was easy and the menu that was provided was great. The waiters and bartenders were quick and friendly. We had a chance to meet the owner while we were there and he was friendly and appreciative. I Love to support local business and I’m glad to have them in the city.

Amanda Casillas-Gallegos: Delicious Fish and Chips. Thick and great tasting!! Also tried the Cornish beef and macaroni w/cheese. Tried their Mango Beer, my son tried a Guinness and we LOVED IT!! Be careful menu does not show pricing!!

Jessica Flowers: Nice place for a drink in the late afternoon/early evening. I was easily able to get a seat at the bar for a couple of drinks and listen to the guys behind the bar talk about Derry Girls. Still couldn't find anything about season 4, but nice place. I can't believe I never tried it when I lived on Connecticut Ave a few years ago.

Jasmine Kaidbey: Watched the caps game here and will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming staff, prompt service, nice game atmosphere. Menu offers lots of options beyond the quality of your average sports bar. Glad to have tried it out!

Joshua Worthey: Great bar with great atmosphere and great food. We descended upon this place this last weekend. They didn't realize the convention was happening but overcame the issues as they piled on. This will be my go to when in DC from now on. Smaller place so not too crazy or loud.

Peter Pellegrino: Across the Pond is an awesome place! Service was spectacular and the food was authentic and out of this world. They always have so many options for sporting events on the tv’s. Their live music is always good and the speaker system sounds amazing.

Patrick Savoia: Came here for F1. Had no race specials and their brunch specials ended at 1pm. The food itself was passable at best and my cheese fries were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. A table next to us never even get their food after waiting nearly 90 minutes.
Response: Patrick, Thank you for your feedback. You happened to come into Across the Pond under irregular circumstances. We had cook no-show yesterday and by the time we were able to get another cook to come into work, the kitchen already had 25-30 tickets of food orders. Unfortunately, it took most of race for the kitchen to get caught up with orders. We have over 4.5 stars for our food and I’m happy to offer you a discount on your next meal to show you why we have such great reviews for our food. Thank you, ATP managment

Jim Laurenson: An oasis in the storm! Literally, it was storming and I was on my bike, so I Googled the nearest pub and found this excellent pub. Didn't look like much from the outside, but I persevered, found lots of nice people -- both guests and employees -- had a couple of excellent brews, and onion rings to die for!

Rita S: Drinks were inexpensive, fills up quickly when games are on so get there early

DC Gohard: We want to hear for a friend's birthday and I would have to give the food of score of just being okay. The waffles that I had didn't really have much flavor to it the amount of syrup they gave me was so little that the waffles just sucked it up and they were still dry. The chicken really didn't have too much flavor to it either all in all we did have a good time there with friends and the bottomless drinks is definitely a plus.

Kathy Sherman: Holy heck what a cool spot. Great jukebox, really great vegetarian options, superb beer list. Went with a group and got to try the fried pickles, onion rings, the vegan wings, and the house veggie burger. Everything was incredible. My dining partners got to try the regular wings and burgers, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Will definitely drop in again!

Andrew Diroll-Black: Best rock and roll bar in the region. Excellent beer selection, all the food is excellent, and the cocktails are inspired, not pretentious. Highly recommend slash nuggs and the Barstool Rodeo. In one of the bathrooms there's a poster of Debbie Harry that maintains eye contact with you the whole time. Feels very cozy.

Jack Wolfe: this place truly has it all. killer burgers, handsome staff (one of the bartenders knew my favorite drink was a shirley temple and one just appeared in front of me at one point.) and great late night vibes. no shortage of haters and detractors with bad taste.

Stephanie Barrett: Great burgers, great vibes, fantastic crew and service! Not only are the burgers absolutely delicious (butter toasted buns YES), the staff are some of the best in DC! Ali, Sam, Larry and Gabbi are awesome!! So friendly and so good at their jobs, they keep us coming back to Slash Run!

Shankar Kulumani: Great local bar. The drag queen trivia was great.Chili is also solid

John Louie: Thought to have the best burgers in DC! Great appetizers too.

Marc: I have been there twice for their Monday Burger Night. The decor is kind of goth-ish mixed with 60's hole in the wall neighborhood bar. The burgers are excellent, the Punk 77 cocktail is potent and good, and the service is great whether you sit at the bar or at a table. They are Covid conscious and clean.

Tom Hertz: I edited this review after a comment from the owners, who made me realize I had falsely accused them of not changing the deep fat fried oil often enough. Sorry about that! I guess I have no idea why the fries are so leathery and disappointing, but they are. Great vibe, cool events, great bar...but the food is consistently mediocre, burgers included.
Response: We change the oil everyday! But thanks for mentioning it to us, please let us know on the spot so we can fix right away!

Seth Spaulding: My favorite burgers in the city! Try the Barstool Rodeo. Andy and the rest of the crew are friendly and straight up awesome cats. Live music, diverse beer list? Come on. This place rules.

byron subero: Went here and first off the food was delicious. It was my first time having fried devil eggs and white BBQ sauce wings. Drinks was on point and the dessert was chocolate peanut butter cake which was amazing. The service was not good. I'm not sure if I went on a off day but I've gotten better at taco bell at 3 in the morning. If anyone else been here and can vouch for it I'll try them again cause the food was delicious.

Richard Nelson: We had a good experience here. Came in at a good time the place was kinda empty. Most of the food was good. I got this chicken broccoli thing that tasted good with a good sauce. The meatloaf wasn't that great. The sweet potato was good the french fries were good. The ceasar salad was good. Overall would try it again if we stumbled on by.

Celine Aka-Koffi: The food was delicious. The Fried Chicken Fried was one of the best Fried chickens I ever had. It was flavorful, crispy on the outside, but tender and juicy inside. The fried chicken came with green beans and potatoes which were also flavorful. Service was excellent.

Vy H.: Came here for dinner and drinks Tuesday night—not a lot of people there so plenty of available tables and high tops near the bar to watch sport games/the Olympics! Food wise—the Shrimp & Crab Dip and the BLT Chicken Tacos were good! Drink wise—my cocktails were relatively weak, more soda than liquor, small and with lots of ice. Service was okay. But prices are pretty reasonable here!

Aurican's Lair (Curt S): This was a nice place that we randomly went into when we were looking for some quick food and drinks before touring the Capital sites. Service was fast and the food was really good.

Brian Redder: One of my favorite places. I work nearby and they have the best prices and a great happy hour. I’ve only tried their apps but they were delicious. Hoping to try the main foods soon. Definitely recommend (they have a great outdoor area too).

Christian McGlynn: Food was great. Service was slow but friendly, I don't blame the server since she had the entire floor what appeared to be by herself. Did you know that there is a convenience fee to eat here? That's one of the two reasons I gave this place a 2 star. They also charge a credit card usage fee. So. We have 2 fees. And the staff told us that the manager decided he was going to charge the service fee to make more money for himself since the front or back of the house don't get a cut.

Page Graham: Nice place. Great outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Good food.

Marta Jaremko: We enjoyed dining at Blackfinn. The food was good. Like many restaurants in today's world, they were really understaffed and hustling like mad. Kudos to our server Jessa who was taking care of many tables. She was doing a great job despite being the only server. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was very tasty. My companions and I shared the pretzel and cheese appetizer (so yum) and the Brussels sprouts with bacon (also yum). They also had the burgers, which were excellent.

gen.xsprtsmn: this restaurant was great! I would highly suggest it. the prices were reasonable, the food was delicious and the services was exceptional. if ever in the D.C. area again, we will definitely eat here again.

Rebecca Boulanger: Came here for a drink at the bar and thought it was okay. The drink was standard and the atmosphere was pretty low key which is what we were looking for. The service didn’t completely wow me, but I thought our overall experience was fairly good.
Response: Hey Rebecca! Thank you so much for ur feed back, I'm so sorry if the service didn't expect your expectations, we're short staff, and we do apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused. We will work on it, and we hope to see you again and make it better for you. Thanks again for your wonderful feed back.

Rachel Meisel: We ended up at this restaurant waiting to get into the urgent care next door for my daughter. We were traveling on vacation, so not very familiar with the area. The staff were going to let us use the table as long as they didn’t fill up. We ended up getting dinner and drinks, since we knew we had a long wait. The food was nice and very affordable. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere outside was lovely. They continued to bring my mom water without her requesting it, while she waited for us to finish our appointment. Wonderfully kind staff.
Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're here to accommodate each and everyone! I'm glad you guys enjoyed your stay and food. And we hope to see you folks again. And hope you feel better, I totally understand the feeling of waiting at an urgent care. It can get hectic sometimes. Thanks again, and have a wonderful memorial weekend. Cheers.

Janine Odin: Good service, good food. Pancakes unfortunately a bit stale (dry) but fruits were nice.
Response: Thanks for the wonderful feed back, I will definitely bring it to the Chef's attention. Thanks again, and see you soon.

Jenn Shep: This is a local place for us and we stopped by on a Friday evening for drinks and dessert. It seems like they may be having staffing issues and no one approached us for 10 minutes. The bartender/server was friendly, when he did get to us, but they were out of some of the wines on the menu and all the desserts were gone except cheesecake. The cheesecake was tasteless as were the berries on top. Good location but don't expect much.

Brenan Tjelmeland: Boxcar is a great spot in Eastern Market. I always get exceptional, friendly service and the food is on point. They accommodated my annoying request for an outlet to plug in my laptop and let me do some work after I was done. Anthony was a fantastic server. And the tequila shrimp tacos were delicious!
Response: Really glad you had a positive experience, Brenan. Thanks for reviewing. Hope you have an amazing day!

Liz Shumpert: Great spot. Cozy and clean, all the seating is booths except for the bar, so physically comfortable too. Got the seared tuna starter which was excellenttt, spicy acidic sweet and perfectly seared. Would have taken a pic but it didn’t survive long enough. Striped bass for main was fresh clean and simple but still very fulfilling flavors & meal. As for service, all great. They were busy and understaffed (2 FOH), but you wouldn’t know it unless you asked or eavesdropped— service was attentive, and food came out fast and hot.
Response: Hi Liz! Thanks for your wonderful feed back. We look forward on seeing you again! Cheers.

Sierra Trott: We stopped in here since it was close to our Airbnb, and wanted a quick walk somewhere. We got in about 8pm and the place had a few customers, but it wasn't packed full. There were only two people running the floor and one of them was the actual server, who was also running the bar. Probably a staff shortage. We did wait about 10 minutes for someone to get our drink order. We ordered food and drink at once. My husband and I both ordered two Lincoln Parks. I quickly learned rum is not my favorite but it was decent. The food came out pretty quick. The grilled chicken sandwich was simple and really hit the spot. The pesto gave it a good flavor. The salad was really the star for me. It was fresh and had variety to it. My husband's Mac and cheese was not anything special. The cheese was soupy and didn't stick well to the noodles, leaving you with a good bit of sauce left over. It didn't have much flavor either. The truffle fries were also great. I just didn't understand the white sauce they gave? It was thick; maybe mayo? Overall, this place was decent and I would come here again. It seems hit or miss on the food items, but that could just be my taste.
Response: Hi Sierra, we’re thrilled to get this kind of feedback.Thank you for taking the time to review us. We have brought to our executive's Chef's attention about the Mac n Cheese and he's working on improving the recipe as we speak. The sauce that comes with the Truffle Fries is our Horseradish Chantilly cream. It's been whipped to a light fluffy consistency. We find the flavor pairs will with the truffle fries. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Christine Wilson: Was told this was a pint of cider. Service and nachos usually great, but disappointed we paid for a pint and were told it's "12 oz pint." (water is in 16oz pint cup for comparison)
Response: Sorry about your experience. I have talked to the bartenders and beers will be coming in standard pint sized glasses. Please come and try us again. Happy New Year.

Marcus Moreno: Drinks were cold. Music was ok. Though never in my life have I seen a less appetizing caprese sandwich. It comes hot, melted cheese, on a Hamburger bun. 3 week update- So I replied to the rep that replied and never got a response back. Will update if I do. I did happen to go back and and try out their new menu. Caprese sandwich is gone, not surprised. Instead they repurposing the ingredients a salad. Food was alright, my steak sandwich looked nothing like the picture on their website though. I would have given a 3 or even 4 stars had it not been for the patron who was VERY overserved. At one point he attempted to stand up and he tipped forward and faceplanted into the concrete while holding a glass in his hand. The glass smashed into face and he began to bleed profusely. I am guessing the first aid kit was not readily accessible because staff took some time getting the supplies. No ambulance called but the guy had a bandage wrapped around his actively bleeding facial wound that his wife was tending to. The guy was VERY visibly drunk even before this happened, I have no idea how this business could let that happen on their property.
Response: We appreciate you taking the time to review us, despite the fact that we weren’t able to provide the best experience. Please reach out to me at venus@hillrestaurantgroup.com. I would love to take care of your next visit and make sure that your next experience is what I expect that it should have been when you where here.

Celeste Moss: Boxcar Tavern is actually a very quaint restaurant/pub in D.C., and a bit of an "underrated gem" in the city. The food and drinks were quite delicious and the wait staff are extremely kind and relatable/down-to-earth. Dining is best done in the interior, since the place's decor is surprisingly astheticaly pleasing. Would definitely recommend the place for lunch and dinner get togethers amongst friends or colleagues.
Response: Hi Celeste Moss! Thank you so much for the wonderful feed back, We look forward on seeing, and serving you and your friends again. Thanks again, and have a wonderful weekend. Cheers!

Ashly Gould: Overall good experience, the food presentation was great, the atmosphere was nice and clean. Got jalapeños on the side of the nachos but wasn’t warned anything else would be spicy which it def was. Too spicy for the kiddos to eat unfortunately. We typically get nachos at restaurants and read the description to ensure to get spicy on the side if possible. The fish was very, very greasy but it was tasty. Def worth upgrading to the truffle fries. 4/5

Sammakai Richards: Excellent restaurant for a Howard graduation dinner celebration. The restaurant did an fantastic job of seating us with reservations. We were served with two waitresses whom were very attentive. We got our beverages and water very quickly and was able to order our appetizer via the Entertainment Console. Our waitress made excellent dinner recommendations and explained all of the menu options. The appetizers alone were enough for dinner, and were family style portions. By the time our main courses arrived, everyone was full. I had the lobster pasta and it was hearty and delicious. The carrot cake dessert was excellent and enough to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Vee Campbell: We sat. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The food was not something I would write home about, but decent enough. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. I have had better salads. I’ve had worse too. Slightly better bar food. Not bad.

K Keppley: Pretty busy restaurant especially during dinner / Happy Hour. They have something like 100 beers plus mixed drinks and wine. The bar is large so you may be able to find a spot if the tables are full. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food really good and fresh as well. Try the jambalaya!!

Sam OB: Went there today with my son and his Mom. We had seated right away all the way to the wall which is fine, but no one has checked us out for almost 40min. Imagine having your son with you and starving, not just that they couldn’t even offer us water. After all there was one lady came right behind us with her husband and got served right away, I was really upset but I managed to keep it professionally and requests for a manager and there you go young lady and polite trying her best ti get us free passion fruit ice tea which I didn’t take it, I don’t complain because I want free stuff. The manager herself brought us the food and it was fine, she later asked me if I want desert and I said yea but no one else brought me a cake it was another blow up but our sever was doing her best but they need better management and communicate better.

Marie BC: I had a good experience. Nothing extra, the reps were a bit inattentive we waited a long time for water, between appetizers and main course as well as for the bill. It wasn’t a busy time because it was right before closing. We enjoy the ambiance as it was comfortable

Zaira Benavente: Brian & the manager went above & beyond for my husband & I. Highly recommend Brian as your server. We just had a conversation about how I couldn’t drink, we’re expecting and we spoke about family. They did not have to do this but they did and it made my whole week. All the food was delicious on top of that!

ughmuhknee: I personally was very excited to go here for my friends birthday because the food looked good and it tasted good too! But we had to wait 2 hours for a table after we already reserved one..AND then we had like 3 different waiters..My friend was being NICE to tip $20 but it really should’ve been $2…We we’re waiting so long for our food, so long for drinks..We got there at 8 and didn’t leave till 12:35am!! Only good thing is that the restaurant stays open late but we were getting tired and falling asleep b/c the food was taking so long and the lady at the front desk with the glasses seems like she had a big attitude that we wanted to eat there like okay ms girl but anyways the burgers tasted very good I rate them a 12/10 my PEPPER JACK BURGER was very tasty and the korean boneless chicken is PRESENTED good but the flavor isn’t there! And the brookie was good but tasted like cake more than a brownie, & I didn’t get enough fries like my friends did but it’s okay less cals for me! My friends didn’t like there tacos and they said it was hard. WE DEVOURED THAT FOOD THO! I would go back here for the burgers!!!!!! The burgers saved the rating. Things to work on: TIME MANGEMENT and maybe hire more cooks but above all it was some good food!

Dan Paik: Stopped by here for lunch with the wife after visiting the shops around CityCenter. What a great surprise. The interior was nice and still had some open tables so we were seated immediately. We ordered a few drinks and the burger for myself, chicken sandwich (non spicy) for the wife. Of course after seeing the food we decided we each had to try a bit of both so we cut the sandwiches in half and shared. The star was the chicken sandwich. Best chicken in the area hands down. Perfectly seasoned and with just the right amount of toppings, it still has my wife making excuses to visit DC again. Definitely will be back!

Kristin Sindorf: Fun place to hang out, though, like every other bar type place it is fairly loud. We got a few drinks and some appetizers. Everything was really good - the Lemon Pepper wings were fantastic! Service was quick and polite.

Hard Rock Cafe: what do users think?

Kelvin Ofula: A typical Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of DC. Strategically positioned. Loved the interior deco and their food. The staff were once again as amazing as always and very helpful. The lady at the souvenir shop was very very helpful and friendly. I loved every single bit here. The ambiance was great and so was the music. Hard Rock is just pure positive vibrations and I always try to visit one when in an area with one. I would totally recommend.
Response: Thank you for the thoughtful 5 star review Kelvin! We hope to welcome you back to the Washington DC cafe soon!

Matt Daniel: A classic Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of DC. A great layout within what appears to be a old fashioned restaurant or bar. The rock n roll decor is seamlessly integrated into the Art Deco along the walls. The staff were very hospitable and I recommend making a reservation as you can ask for better seating up stairs or in the back. There was one tv above the bar featuring music videos of various famous rock n roll bands. The pricing was reasonable for the area and the options for food were good with large portions. I’d recommend to stop by if you haven’t been, hope this helps!
Response: Thank you for the thoughtful 5 star review Matan! We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!

Yogis Dogie: Nice place to visit in DC. Extremely busy but very nicely decorated. Unfortunately the food is very mediocre. Looks great, tastes bland and almost always served cool or cold. The hamburgers have an odd seasoning in them that can be off putting. Fries are good but the portion is pretty small (in relation to the price). The gift shop is well stocked. The rewards program changes its guidelines too frequently and dumps points out too often to be useful. Basically, it’s a nice place to visit, but one visit is plenty.
Response: Dear Yogis, Thank you for visiting HRC DC and taking the time to provide your feedback! Please accept my apologizes for not delivering a 5 star experience, if there is ever anything we can do to assist on your next visit please do not hesitate to reach out to the management team at Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

Adam: It's just your typical Hard Rock Cafe. Good food and drinks. No wait. Our waiter, Terry, was very attentive and polite. Great place to grab a bite when touring DC. *please note* you get more onion rings than pictured!
Response: Hello Adam, Thank you so much for your recent review of the Hard Rock Cafe in Washington D.C. We appreciate the 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

Bailey Alexander: This was my third time eating at this particular Hard Rock Cafe! This location really stands out. It’s in the heart of the city so it’s really nice to tour monuments an things and then ride electric scooters to here and park them. Then you can relax and unwind, ride scooters back around to tour more things in DC. The food is always very flavorful and good. The drinks are always perfect. This location has an excellent modern style with lots of arts and things on the walls. I highly recommend checking this place out while in DC.
Response: Hello Bailey Alexander, Thank you so much for the 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

David Arrimadas: Very good Hard Rock restaurant. I have been in lot of them all over the world and this is a very good one. I love the open kitchen concept and the kindness of all the staff. The brownie is delicious and soooo big. Difficult to finish it even when sharing!
Response: Hello David Arrimadas, Thank you so much for your 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

WorldofDaph: I try to go to hard rock in every city I visit and usually it is a pleasant experience but not today. I came to this location and sat down in the bar area waiting 10-15 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Considering how tired and hungry I was I had no energy to even leave. One of he waitresses at the bar looked at me and my fiancé multiple times and never came over. She was behind the bar scratching her back under her shirt and didn’t even wash her hands. When she finally came to our table she pulled out her cellphone to text someone. Having been a service manager in restaurant for years I was completely dumbfounded at the disrespect. I’m a pretty mild mannered fair person but this Waitress was awful. I will say the kitchen staff was doing a great job. They were pushing food out but the servers just weren’t running food which caused it to just sit in the window. The receipt said the waitress name was Sara. All I know is Sara needs to be demoted to hostess or let go. Upon leaving I brought these things to the managers attention but I could tell she didn’t really care. She offered to give me her card. That’s won’t do much at all. I watch the manager stand on the expo line and watch plates die in the window. Saturdays can be quite tough and she was probably tired and over it herself. All in all I will never return to this location.
Response: Hello WorldofDaph, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent visit. What you experienced is absolutely not the type of authentic Hard Rock atmosphere we strive to provide. I apologize that your concerns were not addressed when you brought them to the attention of the manager on duty, we will make sure they are addressed immediately. If you have the time to discuss your experience in further detail you can reach our management team at: Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com I do appreciate your recognition of the Kitchen Staff and will happily share your praise with them! I hope that we can connect further on email. Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

gary becker: We had a party of 16 people. We went to Hard Rock Cafe because my previous experience at other HRCs was exceptional. Great customer service, but not at this location. We only had one server that rarely attended to our table. Drinks were empty most of the time. I asked 4 times for artificial sweetener and still never got it. I asked 3 times for a ice tea refill and it was refilled only once. Others in our party had the same experience. Tables around us were messy with food on the floor around us from previous customers and it was never tended to. The experience was so disappointing that I spoke with the manager on shift. All she said was that every restaurant was under staffed and service everywhere was impacted. Rather than take responsibility, she only verbalized excuses. Without even attempting to make the situation right. My hamburger was satisfactory, but the French frys were ice cold. I informed our waiter and all he did was say that due to our party size, some food had to sit awhile while waiting for other orders to be filled. Absolutely ZERO customer service. I even apologized to each member of our party for the poor experience they received because it was that bad. Saddens me that a HRC would allow it's service to get to this degraded level. Update: Connected with Sara Lester, Hard Rock Café Sales and Marketing Manager. Sara reassured me that all the issues I brought to her attention would be immediately addressed. As with any business or organization. There will be times a product fails or a process / service does not meet expectations. It happens to everyone. But what they do next is what really matters. Sara detailed the steps they would take to correct the situation to ensure future customers receive “Best In Class” service and food. Sara has regained our confidence in Hard Rock Café and we look forward to our next visit.
Response: Dear Gary, I really appreciate you taking the time to share about your experience. This is not the level of service Hard Rock aims to deliver. The details you shared will be very helpful in coaching our team to improve so that this does not happen again. Are you still in the DC area? I would like to invite you back as my VIP guests so that I can ensure you receive the service you deserve. Please feel free to reach out to me at Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

Arthur Hurlburt: We would give it five stars but we ate so much that it upset our stomachs. I suppose I can't blame them for that! The burgers are good, the chicken fingers are better. They are real chicken, battered beautifully. Very, very good. Their t-shirts are pricey, but that's too be expected. The brownie sundae was amazing! Big enough to share.
Response: Hello Arthur Hurlburt! Thank you for your feedback! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

Rachel Cook: We had a very large group with reservations. They were not prepared. Some of the staff was great, but others were not. The food, for those who actually got food, was mediocre. If this continues, the DC Hard Rock will suffer the same fate as others around the country...permanently closed. It is disappointing 😞
Response: Dear Rachel, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I hope that you can accept my apologizes for not being prepared and delivering a 5 star experience. I am glad that there were a few staff members that were great. We are grateful for your patronage and will continue to strive for improvement so we can better tend to your group on the next visit. The Dubliner Restaurant: what do users think?

H: I have never had a sublime turkey burger until I went here. Half a pound patties on toasted brioche buns with a side of thick cut fries. Great spot to hit a spot for pub food. The fries were a tad overly seasoned for my taste but I was thoroughly impressed by the burger of the day and the bison burger. Okay service. Restaurant is connected to a hotel in the back. Outdoor patio seating available. Nice atmosphere even though music was a bit too loud at times to converse.

Samar Al Kobrossy: Great place! The food is tasty and flavorful. The portions are big. The decoration is amazing. The waiters are attentive and can give you tips on how to navigate your way around the city. You can sit down, relax, and enjoy your food while listening to some beautiful Irish songs.

Kelly Hyer: Great local choice. Fabulous service and really great food. When in an Irish spot, must have the fish and chips. Seasoned fries- yum. Sooo good, highly recommend. Pretzel stix appetizer delish. Nice kids options too 👌 🌭 🍟

Brett Daviau: Breakfast was great. Salmon bagel with all the fixings. Poor server was trying her best to handle the whole shop by herself. Hope she can get some help. Delicious.

Thomas Suckow: The Monte Cristo sandwich was very delicious, the waitress said it was her mother's favorite and I can understand why. The meat was tender and cut easily with a fork despite the number of layers. Corn beef and hash was the best my wife ever had.

Bobbi DeAnda: AMAZING SERVICE!!! Food was ok, but the service was amazing. So friendly. So fast. So responsive. I actually left my sunglasses and someone ran them out to me!!! The French fries are AMAZINGGGGGG, but the rest of the food was just ok. Fish and chips, fish ok. Burger, ehh. I ordered the burger medium and it was well done. Probably a great spot for drinks and snacks, but wouldn’t go for lunch again. For drinks and French fries, YES!

Edward O'Beirne: Decent menu, good quality food, worth going again. Service was lackluster, possibly an element of understaffed but the place was nearly empty on a Friday afternoon 1pm. Greek salad with salmon was enjoyed. Philly cheesesteak about average. Cold beers. Nice outdoor seating view. Not first choice but would return.

Yvonne: From out of town and the Dubliner was our choice for dinner one night as it was close to our hotel. The service was meh, the place was quaint. The menu is small; however fish & chips were an option, I asked the waiter for his opinion between that and the Irish beef stew. He immediately said fish & chips. Three small strips of dry fish lightly breaded and lacking flavor, at least the fries were good, as was the pickle. I couldn't imagine what the stew was like if the fish was a better option. The salmon pastrami was said to be "ok" by my hubby. For the price of the food and the quality, it wasn't worth it to us, as we have enjoyed Irish pubs and this place doesn't hold a candle to any of them.

craig mossinger: This is an absolute must for lunch! Service is quick and friendly! Fish n chips and the Irish Rueben are phenomenal.

Steve Meier: Great place, and of course what do you order at an Irish Resturant? Fish & Chips and it was probably the best I have ever had. Some of my coworkers were Shepherd Pie fans and a couple others were more traditional and had a Chicken Sandwich. The common theme was everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great and atmosphere was pleasant.

Brookland's Finest Bar and Kitchen: what do users think?

Yolanda P.: Nice vibe and good food! The music selection was great...the DC vibe was appreciated (Chuck Brown ❤)! Not black-owned for those who are curious. We had shrimp and grits, salmon, vegan curry, and spicy greens. I wasn't a fan of the autumnal sangria...wish it was sweeter! I was so glad to taste a delicious vegan option. I fell in love with the the vegan curry...it had a great kick and was very tasty. I was worried that it wouldn't be good because of the squash but it was well seasoned and mesh of seasonal vegetables. They definitely offer good comfort food options. My dining partner said the grits were too cheesy but I overall enjoyed the food. We sat at the bar but there was plenty of seating available. Not overly crowded but decent crowd.

Bobbi DeAnda: The cheese grits were the best I’ve ever had in my life! Service was great. Good food. Cheap drinks. Glad we went!

René und Céline Gürtler: Sensationally good burgers (including pulled pork) and beers. Super location in a wonderful neighborhood. A visit to this restaurant is absolutely recommended.

Jessa L: Excellent everything. Sour beer was so pretty and such a great combo of sour, fruity & creamy. Catfish was perfecting cooked, Coates and seasoned. The greens weren't overcooked or too salty (often happens) and the mac was nice & creamy. My server was very kind, attentive and prompt. Highly recommend & will be back!

Brandon Sousa: I just love this neighborhood staple. Great standard pub fare is a bit elevated, and complimented with awesome specials over the week (check their website). I like sitting at the bar and enjoying their cocktails and beer, and what makes this place special is the friendly and quick service. It’s owned by a neighborhood guy and you can tell the place has the feel of a well-loved and well taken care of local hangout. Brookland is lucky to have it.

Lamina Richardson: My first time dinning and i was very satisfied. The shrimp and grits was really good however the serving size could be tad bit bigger for the price. The Oreo cheesecake was also really good.

Kailah S: Went for brunch on our way to the Van Gogh exhibit. Took 5-10 minutes to get seated. 30 minutes to get water after asking a person who I assume was management, for something to drink. Finally was able to get an order in and watched our food sit under the lights for 18 minutes after it was done cooking before our server brought it to us. Husband ordered waffles, I ordered yogurt and Tony's breakfast club, and beignets. The meal was decent. But the timeliness really affected our experience and other tables too. At one point our neighboring table who was seated before us was like how long does it take? Thankfully, my pregnant self spoke up, because we probably would have walked out like the two tables the hostess mentioned to another waiter when he was bringing their waters over.

Paul G: Incredible vibe and great food. Can’t recommend the onion rings enough. And a dog friendly patio with water bowls is enough to keep me coming back over and over again!

Njeri Jarvis: Food is pretty much always good. Sometimes the service gets wonky. No one is touching their waffles, chicken and fries for brunch. Their salad are good as well.

Joseph Kennedy: The food tasted alright, but tortilla doesn't present a sane way to capture egg yolk, so you'll be trying to get it off the plate with a fork, and they don't seem to offer coffee refills, despite every traditional restaurant from a diner to a hotdog stand doing that for over a century. If having your pinky up means you need to go to Dunkin or Starbucks afterward to finish what their coffee didn't do, you have to take a star off. The food digested well. The waitress was fantastic and they didn't chase us away from the table until its next reservation came due. They also didn't make us wait for our fourth table member to arrive, so that wins them back a star. The grilled cheese looked good.

Ted's Bulletin: what do users think?

Arash Tavakoli: I had one of my best dining experiences in this place. The breakfast is easily enough for two people. The staff are super welcoming. Try their tarts and that tastes like heaven. Been very happy with the pancakes and hey they bring you a whole container of coffee. I also really liked that when we ordered one breakfast for two, they put it in two different plates. Thoughtful! So enjoy!

Calvin Thumma: My wife and I went here after a recommendation from a co-worker of mine. The area we are from has a number very good bistro and brunch locations but this meal blew them out of the water. My French toast was by far the best I’ve ever had, the bacon was crisp, potatoes were perfect and the eggs yummy. My wife’s meal was equally delicious, she order eggs, potatoes, toast and sausage. Nicole was our server and made sure every was perfect and never left our drinks get close to empty

Paul LaVigne: Enjoyed the bakery treats we had the other day so much we came back for brunch. Be sure to call ahead for reservations as this is a very busy place with longer wait times. The food was excellent. I do recommend you come and enjoy this place when you’re in town

Angelica Norman-Beltran: Walked past this restaurant on my way home and decided to stop and have dinner. I'm so glad I did. My waitress was very nice and sociable. I ordered their Lavender Mule from the cocktail menu, Loaded Tater tots to start and decided to go with Avocado toast for my dinner, and finished everything off with their seasonal Cherry Blossom Churros. Every thing tasted amazing, I'd caution on using too much of the ranch sauce on the tater tots. It added an extra salt flavor that my mouth didn't like, use it sparingly. The Avocado toast was worth it the price. The poached eggs were made perfectly and there was a lot more avocado than I expected so that was a pleasant surprise. (Note it can be spicy with they peppers they use). All in all I'm happy I found this place while on a walk. I'll need to stop by again and try out a nother dish!

Jessica Zheng: Pretty good brunch location! For drinks, we just got a caramel iced coffee and a vanilla milkshake. Coffee was okay, didn’t really taste the caramel flavor at all. For our meals- I got the Big Mark Breakfast. The sausage was very tasty but the eggs and hash brown were pretty bland, I ended up using dipping them in ketchup. Boyfriend got the salmon toast, that was surprisingly tasty! I was just weirded about eating raw salmon as my first meal of the day but it caught me by surprise!

Tilak Kalaria: Absolutely spectacular dining experience at Tex’s Bulletin for brunch. Service was awesome in this spot with a great ambience and location in DC. The food was excellent too so much to choose from. Their avacado toast has such great attention to detail. The S’mores tart was special! To better enhance our awesome experience someone kind patron paid for my party of 5’s brunch!! Highly recommend Ted’s!!

Amanda Pokrzywa: Friendly service, great atmosphere, insanely delicious food! Highly recommend the BBQ & Bacon Bloody Mary! There's something special about their homemade tarts. The Huevos Rancheros hit all the flavor profiles I was looking for.

Fiorella Hidalgo: Went to get the special cherry blossom dessert during the Cherry Blossom Festival! Smoked Salmon Benedict is one of the best I ever had before! (I like it better than Kramer’s!). It took a while to get seated on a Sunday morning, so try to make a reservation in advance!

Hannah: Okay. I’m excited to review this place as an avid brunch food lover. To begin: we were told that the wait time was 40mjn and given a buzzer. Great. No problem, totally understand. To be fair, we hadn’t made reservations that morning. We wait 50min. They then tell us to wait another 30 minutes. My pregnant and hungry friend got it changed to 20min. Still. Once inside, the vibes were great. Our server was fast and attentive. Huge food portions and cute decor. Definitely not worth the weird waiting times, but will definitely make reservations next time!

Jacob Grice: Breakfast was awesome!!! Staff was super nice, restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was uplifting and calming at the same time. Food was very good and filling , you must try the cheese cake!! Defiantly will be back again!!

Duke's Counter: what do users think?

James Wang: UNBELIEVABLE BURGERS!!! As I write this review hours after eating here, all I can think about is how good the burger was. I'm not sure what sauce they used, but the ingredients went together so well. It was by far one of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time. The staff are all very friendly and it only took them about 5 minutes to have the burgers ready. Would HIGHLY recommend going

Bunny: First time there, will be coming back for that burger :) Our total for 2 people was 60-70$ (2 proper burgers, side of mac and cheese, side of fries, and 2 lemonades) The burger was amazing. I LOVE messy burgers. The Fries were also really good. Wasn’t a fan of the Mac and cheese, (great cheesy top layer, bottom was too watery/greasy.) My only major downside was the staff sat us at a very tiny table, we had a hard time getting our plates to fit on the table comfortably. Wish they would have sat us at the larger tables that were empty. Great hole in the wall spot <3

Orlando Martinez: Great local spot. Nice happy hour drinks options. Great selection of local beers. Has a waygu burger. First of many to come

Lucas V: I read a few bad reviews of Duke's when I first moved to DC and it kept me from trying them for too long. They have good service and the food is excellent. The burgers and truffle Mac n cheese are great. Honestly, we haven't tried anything we didn't like.

David King: I'm a creature of habit and I've ordered the same meal every couple weeks from Duke's - Spicy Aubergine and fries. The meal has been solid for years. Until today. The eggplant was razor thin and thickly breaded. The opposite of usual. And the fries were horrible. Hard like they were deep fried multiple times. Hopefully it was a bad day for the kitchen and not some kind of new normal. I'll go back next week and try it again. FYI, I typically order takeout. While I like bars, Duke's is small and typically out of multiple beers. Not my jam.

Jude Donkor: Swamp Water Me, my pregnant wife, and my 2-year old decided to eat at Duke's Counter after a grueling couple of hours at the zoo today. Our feet were aching, we'd been through innumerable bottles of water, had eaten snacks but missed breakfast that morning, and were looking forward to a good meal. Duke's Counter seemed a good choice since we'd had pleasant experiences at its counterpart - Duke's Corner - some time prior. Immediately after we were seated, the first thing we noticed was the table was sticky with residue from many past meals. My wife dismissed it as a problem specific to the type of wood used in its construction and not necessarily the hygiene/sanitation standards maintained at the restaurant. I figured if it was good enough for the pregnant lady, it was good enough for me. We were served water and my wife proceeded to drink several glasses in huge gulps - she was extremely thirsty from walking around in 80 degree weather with her enormous belly, so I wanted her to get her fill before I did. As she was pouring out a final glass, a large, straggly, black substance plopped into her glass. It was mold. Horrified, she peered into the empty bottle then quietly passed it to me. The entire bottom and the lower circumference were covered with a layer of mold. One of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. We couldn't have known because the bottle we were served with was opaque. We immediately alerted the owner/manager, who happened to be a couple of feet away. After a mumbled apology, he took the moldy water away and returned with more water...in the same type of opaque bottle. Needless to say, there was no way in hell we were taking another sip. We asked a waiter how such a thing could possibly have happened if proper cleaning protocols were being observed, and he responded that he was at a loss, but it was indeed an isolated incident. Suffice to say, we didn't believe him and got the hell out of there. Several hours later and I'm still disgusted.
Response: Dear Jude: We are really sorry about your bad experience, and you are correct that we are at a loss on how and why this happened. Rest assured that every table, every bottle is cleaned every time. The bottles specifically are also emptied and sanitized at the end of the night, but yet again , somehow this happened. We are looking further into this and changing to even further clean and sanitize to a higher standard in order for this to never happen again. We also would like the opportunity to make this up to you, will you accept my personal invitation for you three to return to enjoy the meal you were looking forward to, expected and deserve? Please contact me by email at dukescounter@gmail.com. Again our most sincere apologies for this honest to goodness accident that we hope we could make up to you. Thank you very much for the opportunity and hope to hear from you soon, Chepe- Manager

Alex V: The food tasted very good. Great place to stop for lunch after the zoo.

Sharon Hughes: The food was yummy and so were the drinks. We walked to the zoo from the National Cathedral. Great walk but the zoo was closing as we got there so we had a late lunch instead. This was a great find and I highly recommend them.

Kassie T: The perfect place to stop for lunch after going to the zoo! Both the banh mi and burger were fantastic. I especially liked the pickles, such great flavor.

Tracy Johnson: When going to the zoo our Lyft driver told us that Dukes has some of the best burgers in the city so we tried it out. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Great service!

Old Ebbitt Grill: what do users think?

Natalia Mednikov: There are straightforward American-style food. This restaurant is best known for its huge old-school oyster bar—think lots of dark wood, brass fixtures, and big mirrors. That oysters was fantastic and fresh. We’ve enjoyed also cheese sampler, fried calamari and baked oysters. Everything they do is absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and friendly. We were happy to choose this great restaurant to end our busy day in Washington, D.C.

Tiberiu Hrihorciuc: Loved the experience! Tasted a dozen oysters and each one was more delicious than the other. Wine is very fairly priced. Saw it more expensive in some New York wine discount stores. The fish was such a huge portion when they split it in two plates we told them that we did not order 2 plates but to our surprise that was a full plate. If you get a chance to go to happy hours for oysters don't hesitate!
Response: Thank you, Tiberiu!

Aditya Karandikar: Had an awesome time here as a late night/ early next day stop. The food was quite nice and fairly refined, especially at such a late hour! The atmosphere was popping as well which made it more enjoyable. Service was very friendly and they had great oysters. Fresh complimentary bread never hurts either…

Sam M: This place is one of the more famous restaurants in DC. I visited this spot during brunch and it was packed. I would definitely recommend making a reservation for both weekend dinner and brunch services. I started with New England clam chowder and some salad dish. For entrees, I got eggs benedict and catfish. All the dishes I ordered were pretty good. But, I definitely enjoyed their desserts more even though I was pretty full before it. Their key lime pie and salted caramel bread pudding were both amazing! Staffs were very accommodating and attentive during the whole service. I’m planning to visit this restaurant and will get some oysters and burgers next time. I heard they are pretty good. I definitely recommend this place to celebrate any special occasions.

Suzi Figueroa: Wow, wow and wow! A friend recommended this establishment to me when I asked for dining recommendations for my upcoming DC trip. I am so glad I listened. The warm and inviting ambiance matched the service. And the food? Oh my goodness. Delicious. My SO ordered meatloaf. Who knew meatloaf could take on a such an extraordinary presentation.
Response: Suzi, Thank you for visiting Old Ebbitt Grill and leaving a great review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience and we hope to have you back again the next time you're in town.

Mary H: What a DC institution. I've been here numerous times taking "out of town" guests but always failed to write a review... This place is busy and crowded... so make a reservation. Service is attentive and friendly. Try to get a seat in the atrium, much nicer and brighter. *turkey club-generous portions of turkey. It was good and the fries were nice and hot. *salad greens- tasty, I wanted something light. *calamari-nice and crispy. They have a good selection on their menu, we just weren't that hungry. It's kinda the place to go when you visit DC.
Response: Thank you, Mary!

Amy Workman: If you're worried that this a nice place turned tourist trap that cuts corners, worry not. We had a fantastic experience and the food was superb. Our server was in his 9th year here and I wished he could've just sat and talked with us all night. They were wonderfully accommodating and welcoming of our kids, which you definitely can't say about a lot of places. Some places know that if the kids are happy the parents are more than happy to get another round and more dishes. And then when we're sans-kids someday, we'll definitely be back to sit at one of the beautiful bars. We had the walrus raw bar which was perfect for us never having had raw oysters. They did a little of each kind they had that night and I had no idea oysters could taste so different. We had the mussels, kids mac and cheese, and sausage pasta dish. The pasta was house made and the sauce creamy and spicy. So good. After dinner we walked it off around the White House. I've spent much more at restaurants and not gotten half as much food or nearly as good as service, so even though it was our most expensive meal in DC it was also our best value. Definitely a must-go in DC.

Elaine Viegas: AMAZING! There is no other word to describe it. Since we arrived until we paid the service was perfect. I couldn’t be more happy for their food, service and kindness on my birthdays lunch. We didn’t mention that it was my birthday but they saw on my profile and as soon as I arrived they asked to confirm and no only brought my desert with a candle and a cute chocolate happy birthday place on the top. Our server was amazing, she arrived singing happy birthday, was very classy and really surprised me. Thank you for the excellence in your service. BTW the food it’s top quality, my oysters and shrimps were fresh abs really tasteful.

Jelena M: Great food, great price, great service! The waiter we had was so nice, knowledgeable, and friendly! The calamari was very good, but watch out for the spicy peppers in it . My salad was yummy! I usually never order salads, but I am glad I did as the dressing was citrusy and refreshing! They also give warm bread and butter while you wait 😍
Response: Jelena, Thank you for stopping by Old Ebbitt Grill and leaving a great review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience and look forward to having you back again soon!

Matthew Hanna: This was a pretty cool place to eat. It is so old but very nice inside. Lots of preserved animals I didn't expect to see like sea turtles, walrus and more. The food was great and I really liked the drinks. You can still visit and get a really good burger and fries for like $18 or you can go all out and pay $100+ for a super delicious entree. Either way the alcohol is good.

Founding Farmers DC: what do users think?

Erica Anstey: We had a fabulous experience here. It's a very fun atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had the crazy corn chicken salad and it might be my most favorite salad ever. My husband had the southwest chicken salad and my daughter had the chicken and waffles. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress, Camilla, was fantastic and has a great personality. Everyone working there seemed like they were having a good time.
Response: Thank you so much for your review, Erica! I am glad that you and your family enjoyed their dining experience. Please dine with us again! -Xenia

Tyler Davis: Quality food and drinks! Stopped by while out and about visiting DC with the family. Short walk from several metro stations. Reserved a table during lunchtime the morning we went and was seated minutes after we showed up. Staff was attentive and my drink was never empty. Reasonable prices for the quality food you get considering the location and love the bar menu. Was recommended this place by several people and it was quickly apparent why. Will definitely visit again next time we are in DC!
Response: Awesome! Thank you so much! -Jessica

Konstantinos Rizakos: We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The hosts and servers were polite and effective, albeit the food and drinks took a while to come out. Everything was very very tasty. The meat in particular. Try the prime rib, and the pork chops - but you may want to ask that they cook less than you usually like because ours were slightly over cooked.
Response: Thank you so much for the glowing review! Please come back soon! -Jessica

Kimberly Giang: Omg so yummy. Visited DC for the first time and found this restaurant for breakfast. It definitely did not disappoint! It was so yummy we came back the next morning. We reserved a table online and good thing we did because it gets crowded fast. Our table was ready when we arrived and all of the staff was very friendly. Food came out fast. The French toast was so unique and tasted amazing. I loved the Eggs Benedict and how crispy the hash browns were! Definitely would come back!
Response: Thank you so much for the glowing review!! So glad you enjoyed your first dining experience with us! We look forward to seeing you again soon! -Jessica

Francess Kargbo: I've gone to Founding Farmers for brunch previously, but I'm glad to say I prefer their supper menu. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The green beans were fresh, and I substituted mashed potatoes for the honey scotch carrots as the side. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I definitely suggest this restaurant as a dinner option; you will like it.

WooDo Jedi: Good service! Our server was outstanding. (Front hostess and host didn’t make us feel welcome though - we felt like cattle coming through the door). Our orders came our timely and had that flavor profile that spoke of home. We would definitely return here!
Response: Though the welcome was not warm, we are thrilled you enjoyed the meal and service! We look forward to your next visit and giving you a great experience from start to finish! -Tiffany

Peter Shaw: Great food and coffee, albeit slightly over priced. The beignets were very very good. Personally don't think the egg scramble was worth ordering. Service was good but the food came out rather slowly. Waited a good 45 min for food to come out.
Response: Hi, Peter. I am very sorry you waited so long for your breakfast order. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you again! :) -Kerry

Frankie Painter: This is our 3rd time here and WOW, everything we’ve ever ordered has been amazing! We always start with the honey cornbread and this time I got Scallops Meunière with butternut squash risotto and my husband got catfish with grits and green beans. My scallops were cooked to perfection - they cut like butter. The atmosphere here is warm and cozy but lively, although there were way less people this time because of social distancing restrictions. Our waiter was super! We had to show an ID and proof of vaccination. Highly, highly recommend!!
Response: Thank you so much for the amazing review, Frankie! We are so thrilled to read that you and your husband enjoyed your visit with us! We aim to give you a great experience on your 4th visit also! Thank you so much for dining with us! -Najjah :)

Ying Liang: Friend took me here for dinner when I visited DC. We went on a late weekday evening. Definitely call for reservations ahead of time because it was incredibly crowded. I’m not sure how long we would’ve had to wait if we didn’t plan for that. Our waitress was very nice, food took a while, probably because it was so busy! So plan some time to catch up and relax. It was sort of dark and loud but the restaurant still had nice ambiance. I got the chicken and waffles… and oh my goodness, it was the best fried chicken and the best waffles I’ve ever had. So freaking good. The green beans were crunchy/fresh and the mac and cheese was decent. Not sure what sauce it came with but I was enjoying it! I would probably try to get here for early brunch next time instead. Definitely recommend you stop by if you get the chance.
Response: Thank you so much for the glowing review. Please come back soon! -Jessica

Goose Prevot: Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking over towards the Lincoln Memorial. The atmosphere was awesome. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I liked that the craft cocktail spirits were distilled by the restaurant. We were able to purchase a bottle to take home as well. The food was very tasty. It is a definite try if you are around the area.
Response: Awesome! I'm so glad you enjoyed everything. Please come back soon!- Amber

Ted's Bulletin: what do users think?

Michelle Wiciak: The food was excellent, although the corned beef hash was extremely salty. I loved the smoked salmon rangoons, and thought it was the highlight of the meal. The biscuits and gravy were also stellar too, and that dish was HUGE. I enjoyed the banana cream pie, but thought the crust was too thick. The only downside was that the place was a bit too loud music-wise and our server seemed disinterested in serving us

Alex teufel: This was the most pleasant restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I am from out of town.First off, they asked if there was any food allergies before taking orders and bringing food, and as a person with a food allergy this was super cool, and something more restaurants should do! Tiffany was a phenomenal waitress, best server I’ve ever had. Polite, and thoughtful staff, short wait, GREAT food. 10/10 recommend!!

Deana Bushell: The Strawberry lemonade was delish...the fried pickles were the perfect starter for our meal. Also had the Chicken Parmesan with a side of Brussel Sprouts with blue cheese and bacon. More than I could eat and very tasty. Great local place with a wonderful atmosphere.

Noah Vaughan: Great place. I've gone by a few times but the wait was always too long (reservations highly encouraged!) so was excited to get in there today. Had the tamarind coated wings to start and they were amazing. Lunch was steak and a Cesar salad, both really good. My only complaint is that I was only a bite or two into my appetizer when my meal and salad arrived. I finished my wings, are my salad, and the steak and fries were cold by the time I got to them. Still good, but would have been even better warm.

Sarah: Delicious entree meals and really the main sell. 5 star for food, 3 star waitress. Will definitely be back for the entree meals because the cooks know what they are doing! I was very excited for the pop tarts but filling is only within the very center of them and it would have been ten times better taste-wise if it was served warm. Service was extremely slow and our waitress did not refill our water glasses and we had to wait an extremely long time to get our bill to leave. Food (excluding dessert) and environment great, but service may need some improvement especially since it was not very busy and we still waited a long time for waitress to come back to the table to ask about dessert and then again to get the bill (1.5 hours for two people to eat).

Charlotte Meindersma (Charlotte's Law): We had a Ted’s tart, which was really good. The dough is soft shortbread cookie like. Fresh iced tea was good. And we tried the loaded tots. Outside seating is really nice. Not all servers are as friendly as we’d hoped for, the girl who helped us most was very helpful and friendly.

Michelle Owen: Fabulous eatery situated in East Market Washington DC...fabulous interior featuring art deco decor. At the back dining g area are many booths, you can even watch old movies from an old projector. The service was terrific, the food excellent and the vibe friendly and happy. The menu was great, not too big, not too small. The coffee was excellent as was my Peach Bellini. It's true...the cinnamon rolls are "as big as ya head".

Amreen Shafiuddin: seemed like a small cafe from outside but they have a indoor seating place for brunch !!! looked like a upscale place.. people were posh there !!! the room had ample sunlight and it was all lit.. the tables were big enough for 6 people to sit comfortably. Our server was sweet and friendly.. people even clicked our photos without us asking for help !!! the food was amazing.. i would give it 15/10… we ordered 5 different dishes.. none disappointed… The big mark breakfast was super filling.. avocado toast was presented well and quite filling as to was on the lighter fair.. the stand out dishes were the Country fried chicken and Grilled salmon !!! omg amazing flavours !!! soooo yummm !! definitely coming back here for eating this again !!!

Cory Schwab: Delicious breakfast! And the homemade pop tart was a nice surprise. Coffee could have been a little stronger but still tasted good!

Scott T: Great general breakfast fare. I had eggs, bacon, gluten free toast, and hash browns. She had avocado toast. Both were excellent, but that's not why you are reading this review. We came here for the homemade pop tarts and they were excellent. They would have been better warm, but because of a lawsuit, that is no longer allowed. The table next to us got the massive cinnamon roll and we decided to get one as well. (Back story, I have a mild wheat allergy which often makes my stomach hurt when I eat wheat. I didn't learn of this until 2021 and had eaten wheat all my life and thought the pain was normal. So I generally avoid wheat, but on certain occasions, will eat it and deal.) The cinnamon roll was the star of the show. It was huge, 4 adults could easily share this. From the photo, you can see my plan... work to the middle. They serve the roll without the icing/sauce and pour it on at the table. Every bite was fabulous, but the middle, oh my the middle, was insanely good. It was so warm and soft, covered in tasty goodness, by far the best roll I've ever eaten. When in DC, take a detour to one of these restaurants locations and grab a pop tart and a cinnamon roll, you won't be disappointed.

Hi-Lawn: what do users think?

Matthew Hanna: The tent is so nice and warm and the roof top looks great. If I wasn't so cold I would have done the fire pit tables outside. I like the drinks; especially the hot cidercar. Mmmm...

David Story: Great location to hang out. The view is awesome. The bartenders there were very friendly and helpful for tourists like myself just passing through. It was kid friendly until 7PM(I believe. May have been 8PM). There isn't a lot to do but there are some picnic tables with canopies and there was a dj playing tunes.

NYALA WALKER: TERRIFIC ATMOSPHERE & GREAT VIEWS!! However, there is little variety in terms of food and what they do offer (fish burger 🍔 and lobster roll with chips) is just okay! Service was slow and the ordering app was a bit tricky! You also have to drink the alcohol they sell on the rooftop (sneak in your own booz if possible!! My advice would be SKIP Hi Lawn Just enjoy the general seating on the rooftop and get food from Union Market downstairs!

Ruth McDermott: DJ was good and bar staff lovely. However, $17 for one plastic cup of wine was a rip off! Will not be going back. Better off spending your $15 getting to Georgetown.

Binky T: Not bad. Good vibez nice atmosphere. They had places to sit which was nice. The reason why I gave it four stars is for the food. I would recommend eating somewhere else unless you are okay with paying $10 and up for a hotdog.

Jay T: Most of their drinks were sold out at 8pm on a Saturday, forced service charge, and they kicked us out because a group had “dibs” on the table, despite having been away from the table for 30 minutes. There are much better places near Union Market.

Mohammad Islam: Good rooftop restaurant for hangout with family.

Parker Kelley: Very cute and aesthetic place to visit. It wasn’t very busy when we went, but definitely seemed like it would be a great place to go during the day on a weekend.

Dacian Reece-Stremțan: Fun place to hang out with friends and have a cup of wine. The food ordering process is different than getting a drink, which for a first time visitor can be weird. The outdoor chess set is fun to use, but it is missing the extra queens and two squares. Overall we had a good time there. Would definitely go again.

Keely Norris: Really nice bartender. Wish I would’ve gotten their name (buzzed hair, tall) that let us know gratuity was included but deserved an extra tip anyway. Drinks are a little pricey but what you’d expect for a rooftop bar in DC. We had 4 different ones and they were all good though! Plenty of space and good music too.
