Teaism Dupont Circle: what do users think?

Min Li Fu: What a cute place to go for a meal before/after sight seeing at the White House. They have many unique and common tea selections. The food are Asian inspired and not like what you commonly see in other restaurants. Their cookies also look quite scrumptious.

Jessica Martin: A utterly delightful tea, small plate, and sweets place that never disappoints. A comfortable selection of indoor and outdoor seating perfect for working on your computer or catching up with friends. I got the jasmine crème brûlée which is rich and fresh and the jasmine tea with is perfectly brewed, not bitter at all. Prices are very fair and the servers are kind too. And they have all the information for allergies like gluten on hand if you need it. I’m glad this location stays open until 8.

Bolo 'Ye: This place is great!! I highly recommend it. The food is very delicious, great location very convenient, friendly staff, it’s very quiet inside you can literally come here do your work and no disturbances. You can either sit on the first floor or 2nd to enjoy delicious food. If your looking for a parking garage, LAZ parking garage is 2 minutes driving $10 all day.

Gaby Karakcheyeva: I go here very often and always get great quality food. I usually get the salmon bento box and the star of Africa tea and it never misses. I haven’t been disappointed by any of their food and the service is usually pretty quick depending on what you get, I’ve never waited more than 10-15 minutes

Ido Simyoni: Went for lunch. Counter service only. Even though we set upstairs, we had to come down to get our food. They messed up my order but fixed it within couple of minutes . Food was good After all.

Ronak Patel: Come here!! Not only is there a wide selection of teas and beverages, they have really great food. While we only came for some tea and an appetizer, it was all made exactly how we wanted it and one of the employees suggested these broccoli tots after I had ordered another broccoli appetizer (so I followed her suggestion) and I was not disappointed!

Calabash Tea & Tonic: what do users think?

Marcelle M (Traveling Miles): Unique neighborhood tea shop with so much more to offer. I had a delicious Matcha Maca and a Spinach pastry (so good, just the right amount of heat). Loved the variety of bagged teas and accessories. Can’t wait to try more. Nice seating area outside.

Rebecca Wolf: Calabash is the best! When you come to Calabash, the team will ask you how you’re feeling to help direct you to a healing drink. They also have TONS of goodies to purchase for use at home, too. Their outdoor patio is a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Nicole Edwards: Great reprieve from the hustle and bustle. Wonderful place for small kids AND fur babies- hard feat in a small space. Delicious, affordable, healthy and staff is beyond helpful and efficient. Great experience!!!!

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: So I first experience the spots tea at Queen Mothers in Arlington Virginia. I was so elated by the freshness, and outright deliciousness of their products, I took a mental note to go to this spot!! @calabashtea Located at 2701 12th St., N.E. Washington D.C., right on the corner, this spot is emitting a Divine Energy on that whole block!! I had their “Panther Par-Tea”Half-and-Half, and their “My Last Good Nerve” Lemonade (cold) when I first tried them…STAMP!! Their products are made with attention to detail, love, and your well-being in mind… Trust that!! . . . On this trip I got quite a few things… so let’s get into it. Firstly I copped their Vegan BLT (pictured with their house made coconut bacon $6.99). STAMP!! It has house made coconut bacon!! It’s the BEST faux bacon I’ve ever had!! . . Next I copped their Veggie Patty (pictured soy free with cabbage, corn, carrot, curry, onion, and garlic $3.99). DELICIOUS!! It reminds me of a pot pie. . . I also couldn’t resist getting their sweet potato pie bite & the cherry pie bite (both pictured at $3.99 each). For these to be vegan, they’re ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! . . Their chilled tea’s, I got, were all $4.99 each (All pictured). The Triple Goddess Lemonade has Organic Jamaican ginger, Sri Lankan Tumeric, Thai Galangal, & South African Red Bush. It’s a immunity booster, & inflammation fighter. STAMP!! . The Love Potion Chai has a high grade Assam Black tea, Jamaican Ginger, Madagascar Vanilla, Ceylon cinnamon, oat milk, Love, and Chai spices in it!! It’s a feel good tea, a mental stability tea, a LOVE tea…oh and it’s ridiculously tasty!! STAMP!! . I got their Jamaican Ginger Sorrel too. This has organic hibiscus, Jamaican Ginger, Thai lemongrass, Orange Zest, Jamaican Spices, and LOVE!! It’s a detoxifier & a blood pressure regulator!! STAMP!! . Lastly I got their My Last Good Nerve tea…hot!! It has organic lavender, outstraw, Passionfruit, rosehip, LOVE, and I got oatmilk put in it. This tea eases anxiety…STAMP!! . The customer service in establishment is excellent. The store is clean. Their website is easy to navigate. Parking is decent. GO!! That’s it. #bigschlimsreviews

Sydney Browne: When I called to ask if they were open, the owner immediately replied, “Fall through, boo!” And I knew in that moment, I was headed to the right place. From pulling up, to ordering, to sitting in the healing garden, and being accommodated thoroughly, the entire experience was aligned and appreciated. I ordered the BLT (per usual because it’s bomb), the Last Good Nerve Lemonade, An Apple Pie scoop, and a Triple Goddess Lemonade. This meal was everything I needed!! I’m 8 months pregnant, and everyone between the guests and staff, went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure I was beyond comfortable. I will always be grateful for that. Calabash Tea and Tonic is one for the books! Don’t meet me there, beat me there because it’s that great.

Kajal Mawa: Okay so there’s a way it’s done, you walk in and you land into a different place. The place has a very trippy vibe! The tea guru asked me what kinda healing I needed and based on that improvised a tea that would cater to the kind of healing required 🤓🤩 It was a different experience and one to cherish! I was delighted to see that my cup read “love is calm” ❤️☕️ I loved the omega bite and the mix vegetables patty too 😍😇

Nils Hünerfürst: Love is free at Calabash. Tasty Vegan Pattie and a very welcoming service. See ya very soon.

Adele E: When you walk into this lovely shop, you are immediately welcomed with a burst of positivity energy. The tea gurus spent time with my friend and I to understand what type of healing we were in need of. He then suggested tea blends based on our needs. They are patient, kind and the teas & lemonades are very tasty

Blanca: I wanted to give this place four stars but I am going to give this place another try next time, because I’m sure they were having a bad day. but when I was asking some questions I felt like the barista didn’t really want to help or explain any of the tea’s into detail or maybe he wasn’t knowledgeable about any of the tea’s. But I did like the vibe and how beautiful the restaurant was. I really love their love potion it’s my most favorite drink

Sidamo Coffee & Tea: what do users think?

Kodi Wieland: Wow! The best cup of coffee my husband and I have ever had, hands down - not an exaggeration. Way to ruin all other coffee for us. There was only one person working and the service was great, friendly and efficient. I wish we lived closer, this would be our daily coffee.

Black Star Dust: Wonderful place. The chai is the best in DC and Baltimore areas. It’s the best I’ve ever had by far. Rich natural flavors.

McLain Saba: My go-to coffee shop in DC 😊 The people are wonderful, the ambiance cozy, and the drinks are DELICIOUS! Their iced chai tea latte is my favorite, tried their hot chocolate for the first time and love it. Quality drinks, quality wifi, quality space. All around wonderful

Noah Ifergan: Beautiful Ethiopian coffee shop with authentic ambience and delicious coffee. Workspace and wifi too. Highly recommend!

Rachel B: Really wonderful coffee shop, and I absolutely love the Ethiopian influence. It’s something so unique to a coffee shop. Nice to have a place highlighting Ethiopian coffees! I got a very delicious everything bagel here as well (see picture below 😜). The shop itself has cozy, quiet vibes (at least when I was there), and great service! The other cool thing is they serve some Ethiopian food - also see the picture below! Didn’t get to try that since it was breakfast time, but would love to try it someday. Look forward to returning. #sidamo #coffee #tea #Ethiopian #cozy #everythingbagel

Erin DiGiuseppe: Went here for breakfast after staying at an air bnb nearby. They have several vegan options, including a vegan breakfast (hummus, tomato, lettuce, avocado on a bagel) that was DELICIOUS, and some vegan cookies as well. We also got the Ethiopian coffee service which was really special and comes with burning incense that really adds to the olfactory experience. I’m sad we’ll be leaving today but I’m so glad we came. The wait was a bit long, but worth it.

The Cities: Great selection of hand-crafted tarts. I suggest the Lavender-Earl grey tea experience to whet your appetite for the artisanal voyage upon which you will soon embark: rose, pistachio, pickled cherry blossoms, saffron, passion fruit and many more flavours with which to delight.

Matthew Holly: Frankly awesome bakery. Cardamom buns are fantastic, and their Kouign-amanns are on another level entirely (this is a difficult pastry to get right, and Souk serves perfection.) Try the honey pistachio one and thank the cosmos you get to experience it. They also serve coffee from Vigilante, a local roaster out in Hyattsville.

Vanessa Guerra: My girlfriend just picked a sorted box of goodies from Souk and we are in heaven. They are practicing social distance, and their baked goods quality remains high (more like amazing). *edited review - take out If you are looking for an amazing bakery in DC, look no further. From the flaky layers of a well made croissant, to the deep and foamy taste of a perfectly made americano - this place has it all. It really is an experience worthwhile.

The Mediterranean Way Gourmet Market: what do users think?

Gabriel Tavares: I couldn’t find what I was looking for, but the service was deserved at 5 stars, if they get there they will certainly be well attended...

Maximilian Bachmann: From gourmet chocolates to special pastas. Large wine selection featuring wines not found elsewhere. Sonor Wines America collection and Grapes & Vibes sparkling’s

Jasmin Hollywood: This place has fabulous imported gourmet goods from various nations. I was able to find Tetramythos Greek wine for a reasonable price and sparkling Italian water.

Leona Stewart: They have everything you need to act like you cooked it.

Hannah Shabenas: The gentleman tending the shop was very nice! He gave my sister and I samples of two different jelly candies and some Italian crackers. The shop had a lot of interesting stuff, it reminded me of the shops we visited in Greece. Very neat!

Nash Stamson: Very cute store, good selection of Mediterranean food. Awesome oil and vinegar section. They were out of the exact cheese I wanted, but the friendly staff helped me find a good substitute. And for a specialty store, pretty affordable.

Evan Manuel: Great spot for Greek and Mediterranean food, wine and beer. Their Greek cheese selection is outstanding, and the Turkish and Greek spices are also stand outs. Of course, I mainly go for Greek Nescafé (to make frappes at home) and Greek chocolate. In addition to those Greek staples my wife also found a great prosecco there, too. A great store with equally friendly staff. Καταπληκτικώ!

Kathy L. Fortner: The Mediterranean Way did a fantastic job creating a most wonderful gift basket for professionals attending a National Conference this week in Washington, DC. Their interest, promptness in completing the request, and timeliness of delivering the gift was perfect! The recipients were so, so pleased!!!

Ching Ching Cha: what do users think?

Caty Koehl: Had a wonderful, relaxing time here enjoying chicken rolls, dumplings and tea. The chicken roll was perfection and the tea was enjoyable. The server explained how to brew our teas and they refilled the kettle regularly so we were able to make multiple cups. The atmosphere is relaxing and we never felt rushed. The tea shop section is also great and has a varied selection of tea mugs and pots as well as a small group or tea pets. Highly recommend Ching Ching Cha for a afternoon slowdown.

Andrew Grassette: Cute little place in old Georgetown. They serve a variety of teas. We tried the lunch boxes as well as some of their dumpling and the food was a amazing. This place does get busy and they have a sign in sheet to keep track of who is waiting on a table but worth the wait.

James Wang: Quaint and authentic teahouse and shop that offers relief from the busy DC life. The servers are all very nice and the expansive menu of tea options is divine. I would highly recommend coming in and spending an hour drinking tea and eating the small appetizers they have.

Pelumi Ajayi: It was a really decent Chinese tea house experience. They had a whole booklet of tea options. Oolong, black, green and some fruity teas I believe. Their food collection is very limited and rightfully so given that the tea is supposed to be the star of the show.

Sam M: A very unique and cozy teahouse and shop in Georgetown. This place is pretty quiet and has a great ambiance, a perfect place to relax from busy DC. I was greeted by the waitress and seated immediately. They have an extensive menu of traditional teas and also some unique teas. They had so many good teas, but I ordered Jasmine blossom and peach blossom teas. I also had pineapple cakes, which was recommended by the waitress. Both teas were very flavorful and delicious, but the pineapple cakes were just out of this world! So good! I believe they make them in house too. They also have a lunch box and dumplings, which looked really good. After enjoying those teas, I was looking around the shop. They have a lot of beautiful tea sets and decors. I was thinking about getting some of them, but they were very expensive. Whenever I visit Filomena Italian restaurant, I always try to visit this place afterwards. They are right next door to each other, which is very convenient. After eating a heavy and greasy food, this place is complementary to filomena. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to take a break from the busy city.

Chiara: GET. THE. BEEF. ROLLS! Might be my new favorite food. This place is unassuming but has the best food ever and the tea is great. Very calming experience and the staff are very friendly. I can’t wait to go back!

Bridget McGovern: This is the best tea salon I’ve been to in the DMV area. The atmosphere is calming and welcoming. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about tea and explain the process of each of the different brewing methods for the different tea types. I couldn’t recommend this place higher.

Angus Bennion: Love this place! There are so many different teas that you can try here. The food is also very good. Not only are the food and drinks good, but they also have lots of tea paraphernalia and books that you can purchase.

Alan C.: Great quiet place to chill and get away from M Street in Georgetown. Relaxing and comfortable vibes. Nice assortment of teas. We ordered a Milk Oolong and a Da Hong Pao both served gongfu style in pretty yixing pottery. The lady gave us a quick lesson on how to make tea in this style. The hot water was left at our table for us to make multiple infusions. The food was also nice and light. Which was very comforting after eating so much highly seasoned food in DC. They also sold yixing pots as well as nice tea ware in their restaurant if you wanted to buy it.

Paul Mc: Excellent. Top tier. Must try. This spot is an absolute gem. It has a cozy tea house vibe, and a great tea variety. The green and oolong teas we tried were outstanding, and you’re given the whole tea set to brew your own tea with. This is a very fun experience, not to mention the deserts are fantastic and pair excellently with the tea. I think the food is less interesting than the tea and deserts, so I’d prioritize those. Staff was attentive and nice as well. Amazing, will come again.

Natasha Madorsky: Love this place! The owner Ahmed is such a sweetheart- they have an incredible selection of nice spices, delicious food items and ingredients from across the Middle East/Arab world and beyond. Such a blessing to have this place in NW DC!

Turquoise Afro: The one place to get the dry date variety. Scrumptious and not too sweet. Reminds me of varietals from Eritrea.

Osama Mohamed: Good place for shopping halal foods

Andrés Chang: Small shop for spices, mango juice, labneh, and other ingredients food items, hookah stuff, and the like. There is sometimes prepared food and desserts available also.

Yellow the Cafe: what do users think?

Jay patel: Delicious morning pastries both sweet and savory.Got the the Zatar labneh, olive oil cake, almond croissant. All three were really yummy I loved the olive oil cake personally. Really fast service as well and nicely packaged .

Jake S: An absolute delight for a quick breakfast or brunch meal. I got the pita breakfast sandwich & it was incredibly tasty. Great flavouring and awesome quality ingredients. A bit on the pricier side as far as breakfast sandwiches go and likely would want more than the portioned size. A great chai latte as well from the place. Staff were pleasant & quick as well! Would definitely come back

Ali Elreichouni: Absolutely incredible! Every single menu item we tried blew us away. The bread was so soft, warm, and filled with flavor. The bagels are unique, tasty, and pack a flavor punch with every bite. The kefta egg bagel and the falafel sandwich (pictured) were exceptional, and had unique flavors twisted into traditional dishes. The labne paired with the pita chips are also a hit. The tahini ice cream.... don’t even get me started about that, absolute heaven with every bite, both alone and in the affogato.

Neydiann De Gracia: It is very complex for those who go for the first time. One feels encouraged to order something that is visible or venture with something unknown, to reduce the line. The coffee is delicious and the cinnamon cookie is very good. But they do have an interesting menu, which one could try with a little patience.

Jon and Amanda Lewis: Stopped in for a quick snack after visiting the National Gallery of Art. Ordered a traditional bubble tea and a Salty Oat cookie (like an oatmeal raisin). Both were excellent. The rest of the menu looked fun. There are some sandwiches and bento boxes. Want to come back!

Karina Kisselite: There was a lot of sitting - the place has two floors. Their menu is kind of fun - an Asian fusion. The taste was just ok though. Not bad, but not smth to come back for. We had noodles with veggies and chicken okonomiyaki. Chocolate salted oatmeal cookie for dessert - that one was good. The place has a great selection of tees. A bit on a dirtier side when it gets busy. You order upstairs and have to wait for them to call your order.

Trev: I was walking to my car when I stumbled across this Tea shop. Atmosphere was great soon as I walked in. I tried The lavender lemon mint and the Korean beef brisket sandwich . It was amazing no complaints from me! I love the vibes in the shop for sure I really recommend giving this a try ! 5/5 from me for my 1st time 👍🏼

Proficient Potato: Not your traditional bubble tea offering, but they have so many other flavors I haven’t tried before! They also have warm food options, and have a binder with all of the Allergens for each dish and if contains meat right by the order counter! The food I got was great, warm, filling, and well spiced. First place I’ve had a paper boba straw!

Elias Chelala: A huge selection of teas complimented with an Asian fusion menu. I ordered the Okonomiyaki and my friend ordered the Korean Brisket sandwich. I also ordered the sweet matcha tea and added boba. My friend ordered regular black tea with boba. The tea was very refreshing on a hot DC day and we both left satisfied.

Zachary Tyler: Amazing blend of tasty, reasonably priced food with high quality and traditional varieties of tea. The silver needle white tea was amazing.

Yessenia C: The food is so delicious! Their chicken bento box is a must have, it comes with cold sweet potatoes and cold broccoli!. The onion sauce is dynamite! Their Korean brisket sandwich is really good. The sweet Japanese green tea (matcha) is refreshing. The teas are really good as well. 2 doors down they have a tea shop. UPDATE as of 5/18/22 They have brought back the panko fried chicken! I was told the menu will be changing soon.

Latia Foster: Food was delicious, my team ate here this past week and we had a large order. Everyone was able to get what they ordered. I have the lemonade with my meal and it was so refreshing

Linden Yee: Great for a quick late night bite. The manakeesh are solid and a decent price and the service is quick. Not the best falafel or shawarma in the area, but one of my favorite options for fast food.

Juan M: Love this place. They are very clean and very professional. Two lady’s at the front are very friendly and professional. Food was exceptional delicious. I can come here everyday and don’t get bored. I really recommend to try the Nutella crepes. Prices are very cheap and the service is super fasts. If you’re lucky you could get a parking spot in front o the restaurant (remember to pay for it😜)

Dhruv Jaiswal: Good food ! Have good options and menu ! We took chicken and falafel which were pretty good !We went there super late so was Amazingly busy ! Took about 35 mins to get out order !

Ashleah Younker: This was pretty good! I made my own bowl with their chicken shwarma. Their mint lemonade was delicious!

beyondTabu: Lots of choices in the grocery. They seem to be constantly busy. The take away kebab was ok’ish. The baklava was actually pretty good (which is what I initially wanted). I’ll try other food options next time.

Michael Zarnegar: Delicious Mediterranean / Lebanese food. Been visiting since I was a teen back in the day. The quality and the taste has always been why visit. One stop shop with groceries amd fresh daily made pastries. A mist try if you are in the area...

Riskittles: The pastries are delicious! We tried the tomato and labne, spanokopita, and beef and labne options as well as some baklava. The pastries are served cold, but there were warm sandwich/pizza options that also looked delicious if you wanted a warm meal. While we were eating, they magically gave us free hummus and pita on the house! The hummus is very tahini-forward, which I love (we ended up buying a hub to take home as well).

Francisco Salazar: Great assortment of snatching you may need for Mediterranean style cooking, also a great deli with bakery

Dani Elle: Great little Mediterranean bakery located in the West End Village shopping center. I love their fresh pita, baked goods, and prepackaged, refrigerated foods. The cashier also wiped down the checkout conveyor belt between orders. Happy to have this West End neighborhood gem!

Charlie Souvannavong: This is the only place I know of where I can get authentic Greek cheeses like Kefalotyri and other Greek ingredients. Most other Mediterranean shops will have Turkish and Persian products. If you are in need of authentic Greek products, this is the place to come to. Also, there is a kitchen counter for to go foods. The menu looks pretty good. I will have to give it a try another time. The selection of imports from the Mediterranean is great, and the staff is very friendly.

Paul Haire: This place is a classic and a much loved and apprecitated foodie mecca. It has every Middle Eastern delicacy, dessert and spice you could want. Authentic fresh pita. The sandwiches are delicious.

The chicken manaish were good but the lettuce brings the whole sandwich down and it needs a little of spice, I would say 6/10. 🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯😋😋😋😋😋 The place is very clean and cooking station seem very organized 👍👍👍👍👍 Looking forward to trying something similar to what I had today. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reema Srivastava: I liked the Veggie platter and mint lemonade but the Shawarma platter with chicken was disappointing. Great location to grab a lunch on aSunny day. They have a couple of chairs & tables for outdoor seating.

Paul: Freshly prepared mid eastern food. Not much seating inside, but everything was tasty and freshly made. The MidEastern platter in pic is recommended.

Aayush Raj: Loved the shawarma wraps they served! Really delicious. We’ve tried a lot of Mediterranean places in the US but these guys do it well! Will definitely visit again!

Syed Ahmed Ullah: The staff is amazing. Always a pleasant experience here. The manakeesh (both chicken+cheese and steak+cheese) is very fresh and juicy. Also, they have the best French fries and crepes. Love the food here!!!

R Al-Dulaimi: Excellent customer service. Loved their crêpeMasks are required inside, thankfully they have outdoor dinning

Pandora White: I stopped here for brunch. I got the spinach omelette. The wait staff was amazing. I felt so welcome. The food was so yummy. The atmosphere was super chill and the music choices were nice. It was the type of place, you want to hang out in. Would recommend this to everyone.

Sezgin Arslan: Best turkish restaurant in washington dc, amazing mediterranean food. I felt so welcome. The food was so yummy. The atmosphere was super chill and the music choices were nice. It was the type of place, you want to hang out in. Would recommend this to everyone.

Nisha Desai: Had an amazing experience here for my bottomless birthday brunch for 14! It was so easy to make the reservation and they kept in touch with me to confirm everything for the day. The waiters are so friendly and professional. They kept the drinks and food coming and overall made my birthday amazing! All 14 people were satisfied with the food and drink options as well as the service, plus the brunch was a great value at $43/pp! Highly recommend!!

Forough Forozanfar: Good service & tasty food! entrées were on the small side for the cost! Very expensive!

Mohammad Shouman: The service here has really improved. The food is fantastic. The kunefe for dessert is a must-try.

Anwar Sadek: I tried the fried calamari app and definitely I will have it there again. The Sis Kebab was just fantastic. Land was just and flavorful. Above all they have the best kunefe I ever tried. Most places have their dessert very sweet but this place has the right balance. That made their bakhlava mouthwatering. Overall loved everything about this place. Excellent customer service!

Merrill H: Had a very nice dinner here on New Year’s Eve. Outdoor seating was warm with a good heater and a solid canopy holding back the rain. The waiter had excellent recommendations and was attentive without intruding on a romantic dinner with my date. The food was great!

Ann Morse: So many interesting choices! Tried the chickpea salad today, delicious, tangy, full of flavor. Highly recommend.

Bruce Campbell: Always good and warm feeling you get going in every time

Daniel Junker: Food is fresh and tasty, love the Swiss chard lentil soup too. Nice little pantry there with huge range of dried goods and spices as well.

Zarin B: Had delicious chicken shawarma and Swiss chard lentil soup from here. Still dream about that lentil soup. They also have really affordable imported groceries as well. Highly recommend!!!

Basel El-Shrafi: As a student at American, this is my go to. The portions are always generous for the price and the food is consistently well prepared.

K Jay: I learned about the cafe from the store. After I ordered, I decided to check out the reviews. I seen mixed reviews, but remained with an open mind and unbiased palate. I ordered mixed kebabs with a side of Greek salad. I was first impressed with the cleanliness. The next was them asking me if I wanted another portion of the salad since I only selected one side, and the entree comes with two. The third was the repeat customer that came in and just mentioned “you know what I want” and no further dialogue was needed pertaining to her order. Now the quality. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Tender, juicy, and flavorful chicken and lamb. The Greek salad was so fresh and delicious, I did not need the dressing. I never had pickled turnips but now, I am a fan! The portion was really filling and more than enough. I have concluded: when I am in the area, though not often, I will make it my business to stop by here! Well done, Shemali’s Cafe.

Maydan: what do users think?

arun varughese: Interesting high end restaurant for Arabic/Mediterranean cuisine but nothing that justifies the Michelin level prices. I tried Omani shrimp and lamb kebab. Both were excellent dishes. The lamb kebab was perfectly cooked and very tender unlike chewy lamb in other places. The shrimp had a very smoky flavor. Their bread was fresh and had a very unique taste. I loved it. The restaurant has the dishes of Arabic cuisine but not the grandness. Their dishes are small plates but the price is similar to large plates of other similar themed restaurants. Overall, It’s a wonderful restaurant with excellent dishes but the price is definitely not justified. They don’t use rare ingredients like caviar, truffle etc. like other Michelin restaurants.

Shamsher: Let me just start by saying this, I have been to several fine dine restaurants in DC and this is the only place that does justice to the money it asks for. What an experience! Let me say that again a little louder… WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Just everything is excellent. Excellent service starting with the utmost level of courtesy I have seen with the staff. Very emotional intelligent staff which is rare. The level of detail they all have in describing the food is beyond impressive. Their mindfulness is incredible. I wish I could give only the service 10+ stars. The food was incredible. Everything in this three course meal. The apps were fresh, crispy and each of the condiments were so distinct and flavorful. The lamb was amazingly cooked. Smoky and mild just the way I love a nice grilled piece of lamb shoulder. The kebabs were outstanding. Specially the beef kebab. The amount of taste and texture on that kebab was outstanding. The desserts were not super impressive but I can get down with that as I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Maydan should be a must experience for all restaurant goers. Again, the only fine dining and Michelin star place I have been that does justice to the money it asks for.

Tala Mahmoud: Hands down one of the best food spots in DC. The meat was incredibly tender and full of unique flavors. The dips and condiments complimented the rest of the food exceptionally. Highly recommended.

Zeyu Hu: Eating at Maydan is a culinary journey. It is a journey into middle eastern cuisine that makes you satisfied when you leave. I highly recommend getting the Tawle, which is a 4 course meal and gives you a huge variety of food. You start off with things “From the Kitchen” which is a variety of pickled veggies, honey dates, herb plate, and cauliflower Tabboulet. In addition a variety of spreads including Hummus, Muhamarra, and Walnut Casik. These were an amazing introduction and each complimented each other very well. Next was “From the Fire” which included a beef and chicken kabob, halloumi, and seasonally roasted veggies (asparagus in this case). Wrapping these in the warm bread that was provided was so good. Finally the center plate - which we got lamb shoulder was phenomenal. It was fall off the bone and the meat melts in your mouth. It was a huge portion which we weren’t able to finish so had to take it back home for lunch the next day. When we thought that was the end of the meal, we got a surprise course of dessert. It was a nice cake and a great moose. It wasn’t that sweet so it balanced the end of the meal perfectly. Highly recommend visiting this place and the service was impeccable. The Michelin Star is for sure deserved. Be sure to make reservations right as they open as it gets booked out very fast!

Hamid El Madani: My wife and I had such a great time at Miramar .We enjoyed the food ,the hookah and the atmosphere .It was such a great experience .The owner and the waitress were very Pleasant and delightful .I highly recommend this new addition in Georgetown

Mohammad Knaan: This is my absolute favourite restaurant in DC, the food is always fantastic! Service also great, and they are doing the best hookah.

Moral Engineer: This is such an amazing experience food wise and entertainment wise. Great Egyptian food and the owner personally gives college students in groups $13.99 per hookah with good deals on food and beverages (alcoholic/non-alcoholic). Mr.Taha is also a great manager who loves a humorous conversation!

Real Good: Absolutely incredible service and food. The chicken couscous is insane. They have the best hookah I’ve had in weeks (I do a lot of hookah bar hopping). But really the atmosphere was so good and the owners so nice I’d come back any time. Thank you guys so much.

Joanna Van Vleck: This place is incredible. Wonderful service. Delicious home cooked meal. I felt like I was sitting in a living room. Loved the hookah. Will go back again!

Delilah Vasquez: This place was super welcoming and attentive! The owners make you feel at home and check on you frequently to make sure you’re having a great experience. Definitely recommend! Would come back any time.

Albi: what do users think?

lauren neal: We did the hearth tasting menu and wine pairing and it was delicious! Highly recommend, even my husband who is a picky eater tried and liked everything. The service was impressive and flowed seamlessly between staff members. We loved our experience 💕

Jacqueline Bourassa: Amazing flavors and overall lovely experience. The tasting menu is the perfect amount to be full and try many dishes without being over stuffed. All the staff were great. The sommelier in particular had really cool pairings and was friendly/fun serving them. The hostesses were a great start to the night welcoming and professional. I appreciated that the bartender saw me looking lost at one point and came around the bar to walk me to where the restrooms are.

Aisha Damian: Absolutely amazing. The hummus was spectacular and the wine suggestions were perfect. Our server was fantastic and very attentive. We came for our anniversary and the staff made it a very special dinner. Best restaurant in Navy Yard, hands down!

Diana Valentine: So good. It’s not a typical restaurant I’d go to, but stopped in for a drink and apps and loved everything from the aesthetic of the restaurant to the service, drinks, and food. I returned for a full dinner a few months later and was just as impressed. It was super busy and the service was still good — the kitchen stayed open late fo make sure everyone got served. The food is flavor blasted and ingredients in each dish compliment one another in unexpected ways. Can’t recommend enough!

Tenzin Rigden: Absolutely delicious! Did the sofra experience, and thought it was an incredible value and very filling. We were stuffed by the time dessert came around. Highlights were the sunchoke, the pita, the cinnamon kefta, and the brown butter knafeh. Sat at the bar and service was good. Bartender was very knowledgeable about both drinks and the food. Whole experience took about 2 hours. Drinks were good too. The negroni and the silk road were particularly good.

Wilson Fujinaga: Genius Michelin level food and presentation. Impeccable service. The bar is so high it makes you sit up right and taller. From music, decor, design, furniture, earthenware, honestly it’s unreal we have a place like this in our neighborhood. Seeing the chef with is team in their element is like watching a maestro placing his finishing touches on a painting.

The Spice & Tea Exchange of Alexandria: what do users think?

Scott Frauenknecht: Really awesome, unique shop in Old Town. Tea was fantastic, with a very friendly and helpful staff ensuring every question was answered. Even pointed out active deals, good tea and sugar pairings, and overall everyone was super knowledgeable. Will be back for more and would highly recommend stopping in if you like tea or spices

Kay W: This is a great place for anyone who loves to cook. They have nearly everything you could imagine in the store when it comes to spices. The smells of all the fall spices were filling the air today, how lovely it was! The staff are so very helpful and knowledgeable about their products, if you need anything they are right there for you. I would definitely recommend getting a tea while you are in the store and sip it as you walk along King St. outside. The prices for the spices and tea are also very fair! Lovely store and staff!

Amy Stein: This store is a fantastic fine for any cook or tea lover. The selection is vast, well organized and of good quality. They also carry special blends and interesting tea accessories including a fabulous set of tea balls. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

Matthew Hanna: I was thirsty and it was cold out. This place provides a huge variety of tea and sweeteners to order on the go. I got an early grey cream with monk fruit sweetener. Who knew they had that monk fruit!

Jay Lawson: Nice little quaint shop. Way too many teas to choose from. I had the blood orange smoothie tea. It smelled great but the taste left something to be desired. This might be a place you need to visit more than once to get the full experience. Customer service waa great though. Everyone was super friendly and willing to help.

Yafa Grille: what do users think?

Jessica Martin: Fresh, varied, flavorful food with kind and quick service! Good portions too. Didn’t ask about gluten free but nothing other than the pita was obviously gluten. I’m sure they’d answer any questions you have.

Sydnye White: Love grabbing a Yafa salad bowl for lunch. I get chicken, lots of roasted veggies options and all the yummy garlic, tahini sauce and hummus I can stand!

Hisham Isa: I finally got to try this place. Had the option of wrap, bowl or plate. They we out of the pita pocket option at the time. Then picked the meat or veggies. They had chicken, beef or lamb. I got the bowl with rice and lamb. Both meat and rice portions were a bit small. I loaded up on the veggies since you can add whatever veggies you want to it. I was expecting more rice and meat for the price. What could have made it better? Hot rice and meats; more rice and meats; warm pita bread that came with it. Overall, positive experience as the food feels and taste healthy. Price was a bit over $12 for the bowl. I will definitely eat here again.

Kristen Marie: I’ve never had Shawarma before, so I appreciated how helpful the employees were in guiding me toward a shawarma rice bowl with delicious toppings. Fantastic! Great food and friendly staff.

Noor Ayoob: Man the food was amazing shawarma was so tasty definitely coming back again , this location is outside if McPherson square station close to 15th NW st and right in the heart if DC . Keep up the great work guys . You gained a very good customer.

Thomas Novelli: The chicken shawarma is pretty tasty. I recommend adding the spicy sauce and tzatziki for a great flavor combination. Service is quick and friendly. I’ll definitely return to check out other menu offerings.
