Mo
Mo: I decided to take a class on how to use external flash. It was a last minute decision and they were able to accommodate me. The class was great and very informative. Corey the instructor took our questions and guided us through different exercises. I learned a lot and feel more confident in my skills!
Response: Mohammed, thank you for the great review. We're so glad you learned a lot at the class and have more confidence now.

Focus on the Story: what do users think?
Jon Sperling
Jon Sperling: Focused Photo Adventures led by Joe Newman offers an amazing experience and ideal vehicle for photographers to get together, explore and better understand the multifaceted and nuanced aspects of the people and landscapes of Cuba. Joe’s agenda was full of opportunities to photograph baseball games, boxing, Cuban dancers, Afro-Cuban jazz and other venues as well as the amazing architecture of old Havana and sights around Cuba. Joe provided knowledge and guidance on places to eat and visit that one would be hard pressed to find on one’s own and facilitated a great spirit among all the participants on the trip. I would highly recommend FPA for photographers and enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Betsy Law
Betsy Law: I had an incredible time in Cuba through Focused Photo Adventures! I went to Havana and Cienfuegos in December 2016 during the time after Fidel Castro passed away. Although there were a few changes in our itinerary due to this event, Joe was able to adapt quickly to the situation and pull together some great last-minute activities. FPA provided me with a very unique experience of Cuba. We had great conversations with some of the locals, saw some of the less-known places, explored both the urban and natural landscapes, ate delicious food, and listened to amazing live music -- which we captured through photography. Joe also provided helpful tips and took his time to walk me through different techniques. This was one of my most memorable trips, and I highly recommend exploring Cuba or other destinations with FPA.
Dwight Jefferson
Dwight Jefferson: I toured Havana, Cuba, with Focused Photo Adventures in June of 2016: It was one of the best experiences of my life, from a personal and photographic standpoint. The tour was well planned with a balance of scheduled activities and free time. The scheduled activities were very interesting, touching on various aspects of Cuban culture—music, dance, sports, art—and provided opportunities to interact with the Cuban people on an intimate basis. Joe has chosen to work with knowledgeable and passionate locals to choose the best restaurants and accommodations to make his tour rewarding all the way around. It’s apparent that Joe does his research and cares about each detail to make his tour the best value for his customers. For photographers, FPA is right on time as Cuba opens its borders to US citizens. Havana is an awesome place to explore, and provides myriad photo-ops for photographers of all skill levels, and educational backgrounds, and interests. The city is an interesting mix of old and new, beauty and decay, optimism and despair. If you are interested in seeing and capturing this beautiful city and country before they’re transformed by overdevelopment and commercialism, you should go now, and book with Focused Photo Adventures. You will be greatly rewarded... I was.

StudiowerksDC: what do users think?
Eva St. Clair
Eva St. Clair: Outstanding management, terrific photography equipment - everything you could want in a photography space. We are always delighted to shoot at Studiowerks and are very grateful for the flexibility it provides for what we need in our photography.
Response: Yay! Always fun having the crew and kids from Princess Awesome in the studio!! Check their children’s clothing out! www.princess-awesome.com
Daniela McInerney
Daniela McInerney: Positive: Professionalism, ValueGreat location, with everything we needed for our three day shoot. Chris is responsive and easy to work with on simple or complex shoots. HMU area, space for video village, kitchenette and backyard for outdoor eating (in these COVID times!).
Response: Thanks Daniela! Very much enjoyed having your team at the studio, thanks for taking the time to write a review.
Roberta Frazao
Roberta Frazao: StudioWerks has everything I need and more! Parking available is a big bonus! Space itself is very neat! The owner, Chris is an incredible guy! So kind and prompt to help. Last but not least, the pricing is great! As a photographer at the beginning of my career, I feel so grateful to have found this place!
Nick Lindner
Nick Lindner: As a NYC shooter relocating to the DC market, discovering this Capitol Hill studio was great. Conveniently located just east of the US Capitol with on-site parking and close proximity to the Metro, Union Station, and Reagan Airport, it is the perfect location for documentary interviews.
Response: Nick great having you and your team at the studio!
Andrew “Jay” John
Andrew “Jay” John: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueDefinitely my Go to! I have been with Studiowerks for over 3 years. Unfortunately due to COVID some policy change was required which means allot of my boutique clients are no longer able to be serviced at this outstanding location. I do look forward to using bit for larger projects in the future. It’s painfully been to long.
John Sorensen
John Sorensen: I am only hesitant to leave a review because I jealously guard this secret. Anyone who has been in TV in the District for a while knows how challenging it can be to find a good, quiet, flexible space to shoot interviews. Studiowerks was designed by a DP for maximum flexibility. With multiple cloth backgrounds, wall textures, furniture, and knick knacks for set dressing, I have gotten a surprising number of looks out of this space all with a minimum of fuss. Not to mention the gear. That one thing you forgot to pack that you could really use to do that thing? Guess what? It’s already in the room. Chris has stashed the things standing by that real crews use to get the job done. And I was impressed by the thoughtfulness that Chris has gone to deal with COVID as well. I shouldn’t have been surprised, because Chris is always responsive, professional and helpful. Highly recommended.
Response: Cheers John! We love having the Grace Creek Media team in the studio, total pros and so easy to work with. You guys even surprise us with some of the super looks you get for your clients in the studio and we’ve done a lot of shoots in there!!
Emily Wathen
Emily Wathen: I’ve used the Studiowerks space several times for video shoots. It’s always clean and comfortable, and of course there is great gear to work with too. Chris is also responsive, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend to fellow creatives in the DC area.
Response: Thanks Emily!
David Wiegold
David Wiegold: I love working in this space. Clean, upscale, close to my clients, perfect. It is a real pleasure to have the studio to myself, no other photographers to deal with. Chris’ hands off approach (unless you need him) is perfect. Too many times have I worked in a rental studio and the management or other renting photographers tend to get “in your business” if you know what I mean. As a commercial photographer I don’t need that kind of distraction and you won’t find it at StudiowerksDC. The studio is comfortable not just an empty warehouse / industrial building but a converted carriage house. I used the space for a product catalog but it would work well for portraits too. A very impressive, professional space.

Dominion Camera: what do users think?
Sherry Garay
Sherry Garay: I am an amateur photographer and I used to drive out to Burke to another local camera shop. I decided to give Dominion a try, and I am so glad I did! This is a locally owned “mom and pop” business and it feels good to support a small local business, instead of putting more money in the pocket of a man who wants to play around in outer space. The staff at the store are super knowledgeable. One of them used to work for Canon and can tell you everything you need to know about Canon gear. They helped me make my decision on moving to a new mirrorless camera. I believe they are the only local shop that does their film developing on site. They also do black and white developing by hand. My prints look better than they have in years! They also sell an array of cool films to play around with. I picked up a roll of Dracula film from Romania. They also take passport photos and guarantee them as acceptable by the State Department. I also just found out their classes have started back up and they have a studio space upstairs they rent out. Seriously, if you are a pro photographer or just an amateur like me, then support this local business. This is a great camera shop, with just about anything you could possibly need, including a used gear bargain shelf!
Jessica Border
Jessica Border: Who ever said the customer service was good is delusional. I went in to get my film developed. He asked me if I wanted prints or digital and I said both. He told me that he can’t do both and if I wanted it, I need to do prints first, then when I come to pick up, I can order the digital copies. He was so rude to me. I won’t ever come hear again, I was literally about to walk out from the horribleness if this experience, which is a real shame.
Response: Hello. I am sorry you feel that way. We can definably do prints and digital files to USB or CD but we no longer are able to combine internet uploads and prints. You see, we used to offer upload and prints, but then people never came in to pick up the pictures. When we called customers to ask them to pick up their prints, they would tell us that after after they saw the digital images they did not want the prints and told us to throw them away. since the prints were not paid for we lost money on the prints In order to keep our costs under control, We had to make the difficult decision to stop that combination. The good thing is that once you get your digital files you can go to our website dominioncamera.com and order the prints you want. Again, I am sorry if my staff did not explain this well to you but we are committed to help our customers at all costs. If you would like to share your thoughts directly please call the store and ask for Gary Thanks!
Mike Tike
Mike Tike: Gary is the best. I was looking for ZV-E10 ( sold out everywhere you can check that right now) but I swore it was sold out. He told me hd actually had one and the color I wanted. He looked all over the store and finally found it. That’s customer service you won’t find at Best Buy. I’m so happy with my purchase this is the only place I’m going to for camera equipment and vlogging gear.
W Russell
W Russell: I found this place by walking around Falls Church. For a photographer or anyone interested in any level of photography, this place has it all! Prices are reasonable and the customer service is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!! Gary, the owner, is super friendly and knowledgeable in his products. GREAT PLACE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Keep up the great work Dominion!
Michael Ryan
Michael Ryan: Really good experience over several visits to Dominion Camera. The team, especially Gary, are really knowledgeable and helpful. Some highlights: - Fixed my film camera for free after taking it in - Good film development and quick turnaround - Spent several days and hours going over a new camera to purchase. They were helpful and patient to make sure I got what would fit my needs. Highly recommend.
sahra ahmad
sahra ahmad: I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while now. I love supporting small businesses, and this one is one of my favorites. It is right near my office and taking my film to get developed and print is so nice. I appreciate that unlike the big corporations (CVS, Walmart, etc) they only make you pay for the photos that they found, so if a piece of film was bad, they don’t charge you for a print of that. I also enjoy that it is so quickly done! Unlike the big corporations that take up to like 2 weeks, they took only a fraction of that time. The quality of the picture paper was nice too- I always go with a matte finish. Nicest people ever work there, and overall I would highly recommend! I know this sounds like a fake review, but I promise this is 100% legit. I can’t wait to take more of my film to get developed.

Khoi Nguyen: Best place in the area for all your photo needs including passport. Expect great timely service
NAWAZ RESEARCH
NAWAZ RESEARCH: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueAmazing photo development. Its an owner run operation and they are very patient w kids. Great passport development of photos. The mall area has some construction but there is lots of parking. Come early or late .
Rob Glancy
Rob Glancy: Excellent, professional, same day service for passport and visa photos. Beware: Not all passport and visa photos are the same. Many counties have specialized dimensions and the folks at MotoPhoto know their stuff and will take good care of you.
nawaz hack
nawaz hack: Tk and Eric are fast and really know passport photos. They were courteous and super pleasant and so gentle and patient with the kids and Baby. The price is worth the product you get. You really get what you pay for. They are highly recommended. TK is the manager and Eric is the assistant manager. They work well together and can process your pic in 15 mins. Went to get some more photos. Erick was great and super patient. As usual amazing passport photos and they got it done in 15 minutes. There are lots of little stores in this area that are good to wait for your photos and kids stores to eat too. Eric is very good. Just used them this weekend. The quality of pictures is excellent!!! Great for international passport photos!!! They are very knowledgeable which saves redoing the passport packages! They continue to be great. Has spacing in the store to stand and everyone keeps 6 feet distancing. Photos remains amazing with the same owners. There is some construction so come early or later in the evening
Elie F
Elie F: Overall a good experience. As advertised. I needed passport photos for a Canadian passport, they were a bit pricey but they knew what they were doing. I had gone to CVS prior, had the photos taken, mailed my application for renewal to Canada and received a call that my photos were not up to standard requirements. Thus went to Motophoto to have it done correctly.
Soraya H
Soraya H: I come here to develop film, it’s a little pricy but that’s to be expected. They scan your film and email pics, which you can choose to print. Also have the option to keep the negatives. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

No complaints at all and excellent customer service from the residence hall staff. I sometimes wish I studied Accounting at this university than at the one I studied at. Great school and great residence halls. Highly recommend! A+

Da-Wang Wu: I have several talented colleagues who graduated from Georgetown University, so I always want to visit this school. The campus is very beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. It’s a nice half-day trip to visit the university, the shopping area (mainly on M Street), the canal and the waterfront park.
Danny L
Danny L: Must place to visit if you are visiting DC. Lots of things to do around the university. Great place for photography and sightseeing. Plenty of Restaurants around that area. You would love it.
David Gilbank
David Gilbank: I fulfilled a lifelong ambition when I came to Georgetown to see where The Exorcist was filmed. I particularly wanted to throw my self down the stairs that featured in the finale. Obviously that could cause terrible damage, so I through a soft toy down instead. See photos. Its a brilliant beautiful neighbourhood. Well worth a visit.

National Gallery of Art: what do users think?
Terry Bexton
Terry Bexton: AWESOME art. Absolutely unbelievable to witness these masterpieces in real life. I was astonished by the gift shop as well. Most people that know me know that I LOVE gift shops, and this one was definitely one of my new favorites. It had all the different art related things a person could think of. Absolutely would recommend this gallery to any art lover.
R Lin
R Lin: I’ve been to the Gallery of Art a few times now, and it really just never gets old. It would also take at least one entire day to truly get through everything that’s there (the museum is HUGE, and has more than one building), so when I say it never gets old it’s the honest truth. There’s something new pretty much every time because there’s a back corner or section you accidentally missed the previous time. This place is beyond easy to get lost in. It’s definitely an iconic Smithsonian, and worth seeing. But again- this place is massive! Schedule a big chunk of your day if you want to see a lot of it, or else prioritize the works you want to see and grab a building map to help you stay on track (there’s a good chance you’ll still get a little lost). You get to see some true, original and iconic pieces here. I think it’s also fun seeing where the Gallery got the pieces from. If you’re at all a souvenir person you’d better also visit the gift shop (again, view the building map and follow signs because it can be tough to find). Love this maze of a museum!
Shravya Boppana
Shravya Boppana: FANTASTIC! This is a great place to visit for all ranges of art lovers! It has such a wide range of art that is a ranged in an easy to digest walk through. The interactive guide through the app can help with understanding the history behind the artist and art, which is great for people who are just beginning in the art scene as well. It is a must visit!
Evan S
Evan S: A free museum with so many fabulous paintings! The Van Gogh selection was amazing.. if you have time check it out! It was so easy to get in and out.
Kevin Shim
Kevin Shim: No entry fee. Wear a mask. This museum has a good collection of art. From early Rennaisance to modern. Da Vinci, Raphael, Vermeer, Degas, Monet, Degas, Rothko are the highlights of this museum. It’s laid out in a way to showcase how our perception of art has evolved over the years. The East building holds all the modern art. The underground concourse that connects the West and East building is worth checking out.

B W: I absolutely love this school! I am moving soon and will greatly miss the instructors and even the new friends I’ve made. The instructors are very patient and are passionate about teaching. I have learned so much from attending workshops and several 9 week courses!! I wished I could pick the school up and move it to my new dwelling place, but since I can’t, I will leave an awesome review :) To all the instructors, Thank You! Thank you for giving of your time and knowledge to us the students! We are better artists of all kind because of you! I can only speak for myself, but I grew by leaps and bounds in my craft from being connected to this school! I am ever so thankful for the brilliant mind who was blessed by God to start this school years ago. The education I have received was just as good or better than paying high priced tuition at a university. I pray nothing but continued blessings upon this institution!

But prior to taking our order, she continued to talk to another employee and chat about non work stuff and ignore customers. The sweet potato fries and grasshopper shake were very good.

Madame Dabo
Madame Dabo: Today I went to drop off my niece who’s continuing her second year of pre-med. the experience was amazing. I love how supportive the staff is. They have smooth transition process during moving in season. They were very well organized and had keys, moving carts, parking permits and guidance everywhere. I noticed that minorities are the majority at Howard. Diversity is embraced and everyone is welcomed and respected. I loved how they have sanitation stations everywhere fondue to Covid-19. The application process is easy and they financial aid staff is very helpful. Howard university os affordable and well known school. The dorms are spacious and private. Kitchen is well organized and the bathroom is huge. Campus was a little crowded because it was moving in day, but it was so organized that by 2pm everyone was situated and the streets were cleaned. I recommend this university.
