District Winery: what do users think?
Josh Griff
Josh Griff: Had the dessert wine and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had tomato jam which was sweet and tasty. The dessert wine was crisp and not too overly sweet. We sat at the bar and were served fairly quick and was a nice snack before the Nationals game. There was a wedding and a bridal shower going on at the same time while we were there too.
Response: Josh - thank you for the positive feedback! We also love the grilled cheese!! We hope to see you again soon - Cheers!!
Kimberly Humphries
Kimberly Humphries: Excellent customer service thank you Terry and Lauren. Let me start off by saying this place is clean, classy, and has an amazing Ambience. I am a person who appreciates a good wine. Lauren was our host for the tour she explained in detail about the different wines so that you will get a clear understanding of how to pick your wine choices. This place is inexpensive and everyone is welcome. Everyone was dressed very tasteful and professional. They offer different packages that are all great. I’m so glad I got to experience a wine tasting in the city which gave me so much knowledge and education. Pay to park is available right next to the winery. They are close to the water front, you can walk and enjoy after the tasting and get a beautiful view of the city. There are so many nice shops and restaurants near by. For people who can not go to a winery far away. This place is truly a jewel.
Response: Kimberly - thank you for the lovely review!! Both Terri and Lauren are valuable members of our staff and I will be sure to pass along your kind words! We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your experience yesterday and we hope to see you again soon. Cheers!
Kheyanna Suarez
Kheyanna Suarez: The menu did not really appeal to my taste buds that day since I was hungry and wanted a hearty meal. But I enjoyed the happy hour glasses of wine which were $7 each. Our server, Steve, was wonderful and we had an amazing view of the water. They had some interesting wine flights + small plates for two deals on the happy hour menu that I would like to try. We just couldn’t decide on 3 different small plates since only 1 of them appealed to us. Maybe on another trip I’ll get a chance to experience their flights.
Response: Hi Kheyanna, thank you so much for the review and feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit overall and will definitely pass along your comments! Cheers!
Daniel Thomas
Daniel Thomas: First off, District Winery is a showcase of modern 2010s design - steel/glass plate windows from floor to ceiling/clean design/quirky modern art on the walls. I mean this as a compliment - it is light and airy as a result with a self assured air. The service was fantastic - from the front staff to our waiter Xavier. We ordered the flights and bites: the fried Brussels sprouts, the curried cauliflower, and the grilled cheese. As you can see, the food is very well presented. It is essentially basics elevated by presentation. A buttered grilled cheese with tomato, cheese, basil (essentially a pizza in sandwich form), the Brussels sprouts were well done and tasty, although I could have appreciated some more kick/tang - little dry. The cauliflower was also a little dry and not particularly “curried” although the cornbread with chutney was a nice counterpoint. It just was a little bland. As for the wines, I found them to be fairly one-note - these are on the dry and light side. This is more a personal preference - I prefer less dry, full bodied wines. Having said that, this would be a great place to go for a happy hour - the location in the Navy Yard overlooking the water is gorgeous. This is a place I would return to to socialize, but I think the food doesn’t quite compete with the area’s other options.
Noa Vermaak
Noa Vermaak: Our waitress Alexandra (Alex) today was amazing! She was super kind/funny and attentive. we ordered 2 Rosé, but after we ordered it we figured a bottle would be better. She left one full glas for me to taste and just brought the bottle. No extra charges! Those are the little things a guest will remember. The food here is also amazing and so was our wine. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a sunny afternoon at District Winery
Parker Kelley
Parker Kelley: Great food & atmosphere! We made a reservation on a Friday at 7:00. We arrived and were immediately seated. Our amazing server Morgan took great care of us & recommend great drinks. For starters we got the chicken bites (must try) and the brussel sprouts ! The surrounding area was very busy & finding parking was a challenge.
Response: Hi Parker, thank you so much for your review! We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us! We hope to see you again soon! Cheers!
Marie Pierce
Marie Pierce: I would totally recommend the date night for two. The entire staff was so nice. We had so much fun with our wine guide Laura and lucked out that it was only us in the tasting room. Laura was knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of our questions and more.
Response: Marie - we are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your tasting experience with Lauren! We hope to see you again soon - perhaps for one of our other tasting experiences! Cheers!

City Winery DC: what do users think?
Nisha Thomas
Nisha Thomas: We visited this venue to see a live band. The band was amazing. We arrived early to make sure we had good seats in front with a clear view of the stage. To sell more tickets, the manager brought more chairs and tables out later during the show so our view of the band was blocked during the second half of the show. The kitchen offered a very limited menu and it was almost impossible to get our waiter to come back to our table. We waited almost 20 minutes just for water. When he did take our order, he’d leave items off or write down the order wrong. 5 stars for the entertainment and 0 for the service.
Response: Nisha, I am sorry to hear that we did not earn your five stars. We strive to deliver a seamless experience for our guests, and it is never our intention to inconvenience them. I assure you that we will use this feedback to improve our practices moving forward. If there is anything more we can do to assist you or better your visit, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Thank you, Michael Ware - General Manager - mware@citywinery.com
Shanon L.
Shanon L.: Shockingly bad service. I felt bad for recommending the venue. According to friends, service was excellent prior to the shut down. That’s not the case now. We arrived a little after 6 pm (tix said doors open at 6 pm). We were told “they” were running behind and we could have a seat until they notified us the doors were open. We were sitting in the bar area downstairs but there was no bartender. We were ushered upstairs about 6:25 pm and told we were the first to arrive but could order our drinks and food through the app. Every staff member we spoke to made it seem like we were inconveniencing them. We scanned the qr code and there was no option to order food. We sat there another 15 minutes before we were finally able to flag someone over. We’d seen about 6 staff members upstairs just talking amongst themselves across the room. One walked by and said he’d find a server to help us and we never saw him again. Gary walked over and introduced himself. He was mumbling and we could barely understand a word he was saying. He kept telling us we should be able to order using the app, and I pulled it up on my phone to show him it wasn’t working. Then, he leaned over and grabbed my phone from me. He smelled absolutely putrid and I guessed he was either high or intoxicated. It was so gross - and I was wearing a face shield the whole time. My partner had on a mask. We both smelled him. Gary kept saying he’d take care of us, but we had to request everything like 3x. He told us we should know which wine we preordered for the table. But, what was the point of reserving a bottle if they don’t keep track of it? Another staff member approached to tell us she just “turned it on” and we could order food now. We were confused as to why everything was so unorganized and slow. A party of 4 older women walked in and sat at the table behind us. I was surprised to hear Gary make a lewd joke, which I found gross - but that party didn’t seem offended. It definitely wasn’t professional. Later, we heard the same party yelling at Gary over the bill. They asked to bypass the app and use physical menu’s for him to take their order. Big mistake. Apparently, the bill was incorrect. They wound up leaving early. The food was good and we enjoyed the performance, but we were ready to get out of there asap. Terrible service, and not worth the price for a subpar experience.
Response: Shanon, thank you for taking the time to share. I am really sorry that you didn't have a better visit here. We strive to make the food and drink ordering process seamless, but clearly, we're still working out some kinks in the system. I apologize that our team wasn't more professional--we always want the most for our guests, and we let you down. We'll discuss your feedback with our team, and if we can do anything else for you, please let us know. Best, Hope Calhoun - Training Manager - hcalhoun@citywinery.com
Yolanda Fraction
Yolanda Fraction: The Pros: Many thanks to our waiter, Gary. He made sure we had drinks as soon as we sat down and he provided awesome service. I almost didn’t book tickets because of many of the poor, recent reviews. But, I’m glad that I did. The performance by Tony was phenomenal. The service and food was not at all bad, perhaps, significant improvements had been recently made? The Con: The one thing that I did not like was how crammed in everyone is. I’d pay “double” to have more room. It’d be nice if they had an option where you could have a half a table to yourself as the high top tables were all taken. That will be my main reason for not returning soon is that with COVID, even though everyone is required to show their full proof of vaccination it still makes me uncomfortable to be that close to someone that I don’t know, especially given breakthrough cases are more possible now than ever. The venue is pretty awesome, I remember it from when it was “Love” many moons ago. They did a great job with completely redoing the building in that sense. It’s very classy.
Response: Yolanda - Thank you so much for visiting us at City Winery DC and taking time to share this feedback. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the show and the service you received from Gary. I do apologize if you were at all uncomfortable. We will keep your review in mind moving forward, and I hope you consider coming back in the future. Vino Virginia Wine Tours: what do users think?
Jennifer Wolf
Jennifer Wolf: This was such a fun day! We were picked up on time and driven out to our first winery. It was outdoors and intimate. It gave me a chance to get to know some our group members, and Paul acted as our wine steward with extensive information about each of the seven wines we tasted. We also had a bite of complementary snacks to bring out the flavors of the wine. After that, we went to downtown Leesburg for a quick lunch. Then we went to our second winery and had more tastes of different wines to sample. Paul & Jim are super-nice guys who wanted us to have a memorable and fun day, and they succeeded. Were I not moving, I would do this tour with friends and visitors, no doubt!
Response: Jennifer thanks for such kind words and enjoy your new home. We hope you come back and visit us again in the future.
Kasey Roberts
Kasey Roberts: I cannot speak more highly of Paul and our experience with Vino Virginia Wine Tours! We did a private winery tour for my Bachelorette party and it was absolutely perfect. Paul was our guide and he made it so much fun! We got to pick from multiple tour options to select what would be best suitable for our group, and we had the best day. Thank you, Paul, for making it so great! I will be recommending to everyone I know traveling to this area.
Response: Thank you Kasey! it was a pleasure to serve you and your friends.
Jamie Etheridge
Jamie Etheridge: This tour was AWESOME. I went with a group of friends as part of my bachelorette party and we had such a good time. Paul was awesome and really knows his stuff about wine. Would highly recommend this experience!
Maria McGovern
Maria McGovern: This wine tour exceeded my expectations! I chose this one because it included stopping for lunch on your own in a historic town with lots of restaurants. The van was very comfortable, the wineries were super cute and tasty, our tour group ended up eating lunch together because we got along so well, I purchased the best peach crisp pie at our last stop, at a farmers market, and we even had the option to do karaoke on the ride back, lol. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide, Paul! I booked this for a friend for her birthday and plan on booking again with Vino Virginia Wine with a group of friends for a private tour. Most definitely recommend this company!!!
Response: Maria thanks for the glowing remarks. Those Amish pies are amazing and even better with some Virginia wine :) I look forward to seeing you on another tour and meeting your friends. So glad you enjoyed the tour.
Richard Williams
Richard Williams: Paul was very responsive to all my questions and was able to modify our trip en route based on our group’s’ preferences. Would highly recommend!!!
Hali Sparks
Hali Sparks: My husband and I had a ton of fun with Paul traveling out to a Virginia meadery and winery 🥂🍷 we very much look forward to next time. The meadery was especially tasty and informative. Highly recommend is you are interested in historical sites.
Response: Thanks Hali it was a lot of fun taking you and your husband to the wineries.
Brittany Radcliffe
Brittany Radcliffe: Paul was great! He made our day special and everyone had a great time. He documented the day and sent us some lovely pictures and videos which was cool because we didn’t have to worry about taking our own pictures all day. The van was clean and comfortable, and the establishments we visited were lovely and eclectic!Services: Private tours, Group tours
Response: Brittany thank you! We love 5 stars and your wonderful compliments. Come back again and bring the sound of music too!
Dawn Lewis
Dawn Lewis: Celebrated my birthday with two of my sistafriends and other participants on this wine tour. Had a fabulous time with the group and Paul, who is a knowledgeable guide re Virginia history and the wineries. A lovely birthday experience!
Response: Dawn I am glad we could make your birthday a special day. We love repeat guests. Let me know when you come back and we can take you on one of our other tours....or the same one again since it was so much fun!

Cork & Fork LLC: what do users think?
Katherine Koehler
Katherine Koehler: Amazing wine store, love their wine club and events. So glad this is in my neighborhood!
Judy -
Judy -: Wine is nice but overpriced. Went into the shop with a friend to buy a lovely bottle of pinotage that was priced as $30 on the shelf, only to be charged $40 at the till. He was insistent it was $40 even though we both said it was $30. We couldn’t be bothered to fight about it and just paid for it (esp as there was a line behind us), but neither of us will come back.
Jacob Vineberg
Jacob Vineberg: We love this place. Antoinette and her family are super friendly and love explaining all about their favorite recommendations. Local mom and pop shop, staple of the Logan area. Our go to for all things wine.
Rachael Parry
Rachael Parry: What would 14th street be without Cork & Fork! A great family run business, Antoinette & Dominique are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming to all. Highly recommend if you’re in search of a bottle for any occasion or reason.
Stephan Luck
Stephan Luck: Bought a bottle of wine that was very good. Turned out though that it was pretty much overpriced. Moreover, together the wine, I bought two glasses- 30$ each. When I came home, I figured they were already used and full of scratches. When I went to replace them the next day, the guy was extremely unfriendly- wanted me to wait five minutes to finish something on the phone. Altogether- pretty unpleasant. Won’t go back.
jeffery clark
jeffery clark: Friendly service and an eclectic selection of wine from around the world, with mostly wine from small production wineries. Share with Ed your taste preferences, and he will fine the wine for you.

Thomas Bowen: I rarely post reviews, but in this case I could not wait to do so. I set a high bar for my event and Ms. Sheffield far exceeded my expectations. Her knowledge of wine is enviable, yet she did not flaunt it. It is clear that she is determined to turn everyone she meets into not only a wine lover, but a wine enthusiast. Not only did my knowledge of wine increase, but my appreciation as well. Ms. Sheffield, this toast is for you.

Syerra Carigo
Syerra Carigo: Last Saturday was my second time visiting this restaurant, and it did not disappoint! The bartender/waitress was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines and suggested the perfect charcuterie board to pair with the flight I chose. She was so nice and very attentive, I highly recommend this place!
Response: Syerra Thank you. Zoe is fantastic! "Love what you do and you will never work a day" That is the Urban Winery Zen. LOVE.
michelle B
michelle B: I would give them 10 STARS they surpassed my expectations! I booked space for my Birthday Party and they were beyond professional, everything was ready on time exactly like I planned. Mel was our hostess and she went above and beyond on customer service and her knowledge of the wine and I had approximately 25 guest she gave everyone attention. I can not thank the staff enough. The food was EXCELLENT and the wine was AMAZING we were able to purchase bottles to take home. You have a loyal customer!

Response: Thank you Stanley!

M. Marzulla: Came here for a birthday and it was amazing! The charcuterie was top notch, as was the service. Nice atmosphere and their wine is great! They offer multiple "flights" or tastings so you should be able to find something you like.
Jan Leon
Jan Leon: Small wine place in Silver Spring. Good for dates and groups. They have a variety of cheeses and meat cuts to choose from that come with fruit, crackers, and nuts. (Presentation is really cute) Great selection of wines that can be served by the bottle, glass, or in flights. On some days they have happy hours and activities such as trivia, wine & yoga, etc.
Laura Blanco
Laura Blanco: The Urban winery is amazing and staff is so friendly and very knowledgeable. They make you feel like family. My fiancé and I drive here regularly from VA, some of our favorites are the cheese boards, lamb lollipops and chicken wings. Their urban flat bread is delicious! Love the wines they make! Metro series Green Apple is my favorite. To finish off our Valentine’s Day dinner we had their featured fondue , absolutely delicious.

Response: Thank you so much for the kind words Christie! We are so glad you enjoyed the tour and tasting and we hope to see you soon again on another tour :) cheers!
Brooke Hancock
Brooke Hancock: My friends and I had a blast on our tour yesterday! It was so convenient to be picked up and dropped off in Dupont circle, and the wineries we visited were awesome! The tastings were extremely generous and we even got a cellar tour at one of the wineries, which made the experience all the more special. What was nice is it kept moving and felt fun but also we did not feel rushed at all. I loved that we got to play our own music in the van, and the goodie bags with snacks were mildly lifesavers! Would recommend highly for a birthday or just a nice day with friends where no one has to DD!
Response: Thank you so much for choosing Spirited Tours, Brooke! We loved having you and were honored to be a part of your birthday celebration! We are so glad to know you had a lovely time with your friends enjoying the vineyards and we hope to see you again soon on one of our other Spirited Tours :)

Hannah Busey: Loved the wineries we went to! Beautiful location and very educational.
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share with you your feedback Hannah! Glad you enjoyed your tour and we hope to see you soon again!
Emily Lefler
Emily Lefler: We had a fantastic time on this tour! Easy, convenient, and the tour guide was so great and accommodating! We visited three wineries and each one was so unique. We did a private tour, and had the absolute best time spending the day sampling wines and enjoying the scenery. The tour guide helped us pick out wines to taste at each location, taught us about Virginia wineries, and even provided lots of snacks and water for us to enjoy. I highly recommend this tour - I now have three new wineries that I will definitely want to revisit
Response: Thank you soooo very much for your kind feedback Emily!!! We are so happy to know you had a wonderful day with your friends and enjoyed the different wineries we visited! We hope you’ll explore again Virginia’s sights and tastes and choose Spirited Tours again in the future :) have a wonderful week and Cheers! :)

Great way to get out of the city for a day with friends.

DCanter - A Wine Boutique: what do users think?
Sophie Osborn
Sophie Osborn: DCanter is still my go-to-wine store in DC even though I moved across the city three years ago!! They have everything you could want: unique bottle selection, highly knowledgeable staff who always help you pick out the perfect bottle, a great range of price points and lots of affordable, delicious wines, and incredible education and tasting events! I’ve been introduced to so many neat and interesting varietals and styles through DCanter that I wouldn’t have had the confidence to pick out at a regular store. The website is also impeccably organized and they offer deliveries in the DMV area. They’ve been a wine lifeline for me during the pandemic and have helped me in my wine nerd journey!
Response: This means so much to us, Sophie. Thank you so much!
Matthew Radomski
Matthew Radomski: DCanter is fantastic at all levels - Great wine, great store environment, and great owners and staff. My wife and I have been DCanter Concierge members since 2019 and we have never been disappointed. Thank you Michelle & Michael for all you do!
Response: You’re welcome, Matt! Your support means so much to us. Thank you for your kind words!
Nik Taylor
Nik Taylor: I love this place! They have an amazing website that makes it incredibly easy to browse and purchase bottles from home and then pick them up at the store. They also deliver throughout DC and NOVA (inside the Beltway). DCanter has a vast selection. The staff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, warm, and welcoming. I thought I knew a lot about wine, but then I started shopping here, and they introduced me to SO much more. Cheers!
Response: Thanks so much, Nik!! We're so glad you love our shop and website. We enjoy helping you discover new wines! See you at the shop or online again soon!
John Schwab
John Schwab: "The difference between passable and excellent" ... how I would describe buying wine off the shelf at random somewhere else and coming to DCanter for a recommendation. Walked in, dinner menu in hand, and your staff immediately honed in on two choices. I picked one and it was the perfect complement. Thanks, guys!!!!
Response: You’re welcome, John! We’re so happy we could help. Please come back soon!
Sharon Jessup
Sharon Jessup: We have been frequent customers of DCanter for years, and now especially this year! They have adapted to the change, made on-line shopping easy, including a chat function for recommendations. Love the classes and how we can resume in 2021.
Response: Sharon, thank you for being such a loyal customer. We appreciate your support!
Mallory Pound
Mallory Pound: Only a small section of affordable wine- the rest is overpriced. Nonetheless we liked supporting a local business so we shopped there regularly. When we tried to get a rain check on a wine tasting because my husband was sick, they stuck to their 48 hour cancellation policy. Not a great look for a local business trying to get support from locals.

Weygandt Wines: what do users think?
Paige Nichols
Paige Nichols: Nice selection of wines, but terrible customer service. Staff were rude and dismissive; I don’t understand why when you want to support a local business the experience can be made so unpleasant! If you can, shop at Chain Bridge Cellars, Domestique, or literally anywhere else.
K P
K P: Best wine shop in dc for value, service, and selection. Mostly stock French, German, Austrian, and Italian regions. Their wine club is an amazing deal too!
Malcolm Ehrenpreis
Malcolm Ehrenpreis: This is the best wine merchant in the city, without a doubt, and in the country, if I were to guess. If you are looking for small-producer, carefully curated, unknown-to-you, the-best-you’ve-ever-had wines from the most terroir-driven regions in the world (emphasis on Bourgogne and the full length of the Loire), this store is your oasis in an industrial style-driven desert. This store imports wines from vignerons producing quantities smaller than any of the large chains could ever contemplate, and at the highest and most personally-cared for quality of wine making. Beats the merchant I had when living in Paris. Peter, Warren, Ed and the rest of the team will find you a wine to tickle your fancy at any price point. We are so lucky to have Weygandt Wines in our neighborhood.
Peyton Doyle
Peyton Doyle: A Cleveland Park gem, this place means business when it comes to wines– especially French selections that are sure to delight. Don’t miss out on the weekly tasting (FREE!*) on Saturdays. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share, just takes a few to warm up to them. They’re lovely though! You’ll frequently find the owner/importer walking around helping out too.
Joshua Knepley
Joshua Knepley: No better bottle shop in DC. Perfectly curated selection of top producers from the best regions of France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Germany, along with good domestics. A good bottle to be found for any occasion.
Christopher Mulkins
Christopher Mulkins: The wine selection here is great, however, the staff aren’t really helpful and pretentious. I just love it when people are rude when I’m trying to give them my money.

Grand Cata: what do users think?
Katie Schultz
Katie Schultz: Latin wine-focused shop with a large selection of alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic drinks, food, and gifts. They have a fantastic monthly wine club and are always pouring free tastings of featured wines and holding fun events. A neighborhood gem with friendly staff...you can’t miss it!
Response: Gracias Katie! See you soon!
Shane Tews
Shane Tews: My favorite place to buy wine in DC. They have unusual Latin based wines that are a nice treat away from the old world classics that flood the DC market. Go expo something new. The staff are very helpful and easy talk to about their passion.
Response: Gracias Shane! See you next time!
P Soriano
P Soriano: Good place but sadly the website for online ordering is confusing. Food options not available at get 7th street location. Wine and beer options online are hard to choose since I’m not familiar with the wines and there’s no description.
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We've been adapting to the current situation and working on improving our newly launched online store and attempting to integrate our two businesses in a way that is easy for our customers. We are more than happy to help you over the phone at Shaw or via email at La Cosecha. We of course value all feedback and will do our best to help you find what you need. Please take care, stay healthy and we hope to see you soon in person.
Michael Walsh
Michael Walsh: One of my favorite wine stores. I live in Leesburg, VA and still make the drive to this store. Their wines are not just from Latin America. They have a great selection from Spain too. And not just wines! After visiting Spain I fell in love with vermouth and Grand Cata has a great selection of them. They also have a limited selection of food to purchase. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a wine club you can join. I highly recommend this place!
Response: (Translated by Google) Thank you Michael! See you soon friend! (Original) Gracias Michael! See you soon amigo!
Eric Heath
Eric Heath: The perfect wine shop. Love the owners, love the staff, love the wine. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Response: Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate your support! See you soon!

Bacchus Wine Cellar: what do users think?
JACK HOWARD
JACK HOWARD: This is by far the best wine store in DC, The wonderful knowledgeable team and the man himself Bassam, always knows his stuff and works with your budget whatever that may be. Lots of great finds in here and interesting conversations.
Response: Thank you Mr Jack for all your support!!
Shawn leonard
Shawn leonard: I live in VA and often come into Bacchus because of the insane inventory! Everything is clearly bought with a personal touch. This is a treasure trove of what ever your budget allows! Great neighborhood culture spot! You never know who may just drop in? Local people to iconic celebrities seem to drop by to quench their tastes and get insight into Washingtonian culture and gossip. Even in a time of Covid. Clean and friendly environment. Bassam seems to know how to attract people with great tastes.
Response: Thank you very much for your support!!
Truong Huynh
Truong Huynh: Beautiful wine cellar with a fantastic selection! The prices were reasonable as well. Staff always wore masks when I was there so kudos to that.
Leks Gerlak
Leks Gerlak: Just went there yesterday, and they were holding a wine tasting with multiple people not wearing masks. Even when we went in, no one put their masks on. Unbelievably inconsiderate and unsafe. This happened at peak COVID cases. Prices are also way overly marked up.
Ian Muir
Ian Muir: Bacchus Wine Cellar is the kind of store that really makes you feel part of a neighborhood. Super friendly staff, great tasting events, and, of course, an excellent selection of wine and spirits. A real asset to upper Georgetown!
Response: Thank you Mr Ian!!
Richard Spencer
Richard Spencer: The ultimate "neighborhood wine store". Basam is the perfect proprietor and will help you explore both wines and spirits. Just stop by to share a glass of wine on a Friday afternoon. AND they deliver!
Response: Thank you Richard!!!
Brad Winters
Brad Winters: Our group paid for a wine tasting here. We got kicked out for being loud. We weren’t being mean or messing around, just talking and enjoying ourselves with the other group also doing the wine tasting. Very disappointing, I won’t be returning.
Response: We appreciated you and your group coming into our store today but you guys became extremely loud and were disturbing our other customers. We asked you all to quiet down three times only for your group to become more boisterous. At which point we asked you to leave. We’re sorry your experience with us wasn’t all that you hoped but we need to cater to all of our customers not just the largest group.

Cork Wine Bar and Market: what do users think?
Miguel Curiel
Miguel Curiel: Super nice, tranquil, boutique (and potentially underrated) bar. Especially recommended if you’re fond of having deep conversations and drinking wine. Although the food menu is short, everything we ordered was delicious - especially the truffled fries and of course the drinks!
Tasha C
Tasha C: I had great time here the food and 🍷 was delicious. Most importantly our waiter (Kareem) was so helpful. He recommended a wine for me that was so good I brought 2 bottles.
Jesse
Jesse: Great wine selection and food. Make sure to order the fried chicken.
Dan Hopkinson
Dan Hopkinson: Had such a fun time here on a Friday evening. We drank a little too much delicious wine and chatted with locals and the bartender (Kareem), who was very knowledgeable and let us try some wines before we decided on our second bottle. Would be here much more often if we lived in the neighborhood! Great Spot!
Stacey King
Stacey King: A restaurant with no changing tables in the restrooms. Koala Kare stations are $200. My table spent more than that. My kid is also going to be paying your social security, so maybe you can give a sleep deprived new mother a place to change diapers other than the bathroom floor. Just asked by the super nice server if I’d left the review. So beware if you leave a review. Do better for new parents. It’s not hard.
dipika
dipika: Cork is a gem in the neighborhood. The wines are extensive and carefully selected, the food is low key among the best on 14th St, and the overall atmosphere is light and fun. Kareem (Karim?) was our guy for the evening and made the experience for us with his knowledge and friendliness and perfect table side manners.
Cheryl Warner
Cheryl Warner: Have long been a fan of the dinner menu, and tried brunch for the first time. It was great! Delicious and great service.
Lisa Hamilton
Lisa Hamilton: Best fried chicken in DC. We had our rehearsal dinner here last year and the service was great, wine was great and food was BOMB. Fried chicken, kale and Mac and cheese were fantastic. Biscuits are perfection. Love this place!
Sinan Pismisoglu
Sinan Pismisoglu: Nice place, good quality wine choices. We have been there for a wine tasting event. It was interesting and worth the money. Service could have been better. I understand that it’s a family business. They spent good money on decorating the place and developing the menu etc. however, there is this lack of staff that kinda makes it somehow disturbing and I cannot explain how. Overall, it’s good wine food.
Response: Sinan, thanks for your comments. If you would like to elaborate more on "lack of staff," please email us at info@corkdc.com.

The Eastern: what do users think?
Diva Willis
Diva Willis: The lamb skewers were good but I would have given them 5-7 more minutes of cooking. The cocktails were tasty. The cobbler was nice. Service was great.
Matt Reed
Matt Reed: Bar tenders really knowledgeable, lots of cool cocktails and wine choices. Good nosh choices. All and all a great find for a place to enjoy a glass and talk.
Jennifer Ziegenfus
Jennifer Ziegenfus: This place is more than a wine bar. They also serve delicious cocktails and the bartenders are super knowledgeable. Great vibe in a fun neighborhood!
Brenna Holmes
Brenna Holmes: Another great time at The Eastern. Great food, The Beastern is so worth it and we always feel taken care of!
Matt Catalano
Matt Catalano: Good wine options for the size of the place with a knowledgeable staff. Cocktails just as impressive. Cheese and charcuterie very good. Need to come back for dinner.

Vitis Fine Wines & Spirits: what do users think?
Scott Biggs
Scott Biggs: A small discovery of wonderful amazement. If you are a wine nerd or not , go see Vanessa and staff at Vitis. Thoughtful manicured selections from around the world makes it worth the stop every time. I absolutely adore this place.
Devon Cantwell-Chavez
Devon Cantwell-Chavez: Vitis Wines has an amazing and carefully curated selection of wines! The owner/manager, Vanessa, is incredibly helpful and helped me select a wonderful bottle of wine (a Chenin blanc from South Africa) to go with our salmon meal we had planned with some friends in the area. As someone with some wine knowledge, but not a tone, this was incredibly helpful advice to elevate my meals! They also carry a wonderful selection of women winemakers (like the Chenin blanc we got) as well as wine made/owned by Black and Latinx folks. Absolutely wonderful place— best way to spend your money in the Union Market!
Lib
Lib: I came here with my mom and sister who live out of town. When we walked in Chris (I asked for his name) was helping a white couple pick out wine. Once the couple left he sat down and started using a laptop. He didn’t look up once to ask us if we needed help. My sister asked him if he had a Merlot and he said ‘no’ and went back to working on his laptop and didn’t say anything else. As we walked out another white family walked in and he got up immediately and starting helping them. I then went back and asked for his name. I’ve experienced this in several places were staff don’t think (black ppl) we can afford expensive items/wines. It’s upsetting and I will never go back to this establishment.
Response: Hi Liberty, I am so sorry this was your experience. It is not the standard that Vitis holds itself to for service. I wanted to let you know a few steps that we are taking regarding the situation and how we are moving to better train staff. We are working on retraining with a focus on DE&I in regards to hospitality and service. We are putting together training modules focused on confronting implicit biases that staff have. My email is vanessa@vitisvinos.com and you are welcome to email me as well because we do want to make our community more inclusive as well. I truly do apologize.
Alex Lucas
Alex Lucas: What an amazing liquor store! Union Market is super cute and this is such an amazing wine bar. Vanessa is so knowledge and friendly! She helped us pick out an awesome rose that we could sit and enjoy. If you are able to I highly recommend you visiting Vitis, and make sure you talk to Vanessa about their incredible selection!
Manfred Phemister
Manfred Phemister: Excellent selection and great service as usual. Love their spirit selection
Rose
Rose: The staff did not want to sell us wine and after inquiring about a certain type of wine he was rude and did not want to assist us further. Very disappointing!
Response: Rose, We're so sorry that your experience was not up to standards of Vitis. Our selection is a bit smaller, but we always want to make sure you find a bottle you may like even more. My email is vanessa@vitisvinos.com and we would love to extend an apology and ask if you would give us a second chance to show you our standards with service. If you send me an email, I can set you up with a special shopping code you can use in our store the next time you visit as a way to say we are sorry and would love to do better.
Suvdaa Ragchaabazar
Suvdaa Ragchaabazar: I really like the way they display their wines, and so many different ones I havent seen before! Writing the prices and flavors on the bottles is really creative and fun. The guy explained things very well and was so nice!
John Carter
John Carter: This is a great little wine and liquor shop in Union Market, they have an interesting selection and the people working there are very friendly and helpful!
Amie Seisay
Amie Seisay: Great selection of wine and whiskey but clean tasting disposable cups would be preferred versus reused glasses for tasting.
harish Ravi
harish Ravi: Great collections and great advisers, picked up few bottles of wines and they are amazing !!!!!
