Bacchus Wine Cellar: what do users think?
JACK HOWARD
JACK HOWARD: This is by far the best wine store in DC, The wonderful knowledgeable team and the man himself Bassam, always knows his stuff and works with your budget whatever that may be. Lots of great finds in here and interesting conversations.
Response: Thank you Mr Jack for all your support!!
Shawn leonard
Shawn leonard: I live in VA and often come into Bacchus because of the insane inventory! Everything is clearly bought with a personal touch. This is a treasure trove of what ever your budget allows! Great neighborhood culture spot! You never know who may just drop in? Local people to iconic celebrities seem to drop by to quench their tastes and get insight into Washingtonian culture and gossip. Even in a time of Covid. Clean and friendly environment. Bassam seems to know how to attract people with great tastes.
Response: Thank you very much for your support!!
Truong Huynh
Truong Huynh: Beautiful wine cellar with a fantastic selection! The prices were reasonable as well. Staff always wore masks when I was there so kudos to that.
Leks Gerlak
Leks Gerlak: Just went there yesterday, and they were holding a wine tasting with multiple people not wearing masks. Even when we went in, no one put their masks on. Unbelievably inconsiderate and unsafe. This happened at peak COVID cases. Prices are also way overly marked up.
Ian Muir
Ian Muir: Bacchus Wine Cellar is the kind of store that really makes you feel part of a neighborhood. Super friendly staff, great tasting events, and, of course, an excellent selection of wine and spirits. A real asset to upper Georgetown!
Response: Thank you Mr Ian!!
Richard Spencer
Richard Spencer: The ultimate "neighborhood wine store". Basam is the perfect proprietor and will help you explore both wines and spirits. Just stop by to share a glass of wine on a Friday afternoon. AND they deliver!
Response: Thank you Richard!!!
Brad Winters
Brad Winters: Our group paid for a wine tasting here. We got kicked out for being loud. We weren’t being mean or messing around, just talking and enjoying ourselves with the other group also doing the wine tasting. Very disappointing, I won’t be returning.
Response: We appreciated you and your group coming into our store today but you guys became extremely loud and were disturbing our other customers. We asked you all to quiet down three times only for your group to become more boisterous. At which point we asked you to leave. We’re sorry your experience with us wasn’t all that you hoped but we need to cater to all of our customers not just the largest group.

Calvert Woodley Fine Wines & Spirits: what do users think?
Mike Sternad
Mike Sternad: Calvert Woodley’s is back! I always went there for the joy of discovering new things (Absente) and exploring (new whiskeys) AND the expert advice. How do you know which cognac under $100 delivers great smoothness and depth? And what are the new sipping bourbons worth trying? Should I take an entire case of that recommended Pinot noir? What cheeses are on sale this week? FAO Schwartz for adults, but it takes being live for the full effect 🤠
Response: Thank you Mike, this is amazing! We really appreciate your kind words and your support. And we love that you love coming in, so thank you for everything. Have a wonderful holiday season. -Michael Sands, Owner
Paul Oliva
Paul Oliva: One of the best selections of liquors, aperitif, mixers, cordials, bitters, and wines. Very nice selection of cheeses and deli meats.
Response: Thank you Paul! We're thrilled that you enjoy CW and we appreciate your support. -Michael Sands
Scott Williamson
Scott Williamson: This is not your average wine and liquor store - definitely rely on the smart people who work there for guidance. If you are out to impress with a smart bottle, go here
Response: Thank you Scott, we really appreciate your support! -Michael Sands, Owner
Nick Porritt
Nick Porritt: Terrific wine store with good selection at every price point. Fast delivery in DC as well.
Response: Thank you Nick, we really appreciate your support! -Michael Sands, Owner
Ashley Harris
Ashley Harris: Amazing staff and amazing selection! All staff are very knowledgeable and I have never received a bad recommendation on wine or cheese. Excellent customer service and all are extremely friendly as well. 10/10 recommend making CW your go-to shop!
Response: Wow, thank you Ashley! We're thrilled that you enjoy CW and we really appreciate the kind words. Happy New Year. -Michael Sands

The Wine Specialist: what do users think?
Naz A
Naz A: Worst staff, i see no improvements. But i would love if store has more deals. No quality wines!!
Response: Thanks we try to have deals but will try harder
Jiva Raiolo
Jiva Raiolo: BAD collection of items - vodka and beer both! Many store in DC but just never visited this one until today..NOT professional help/advise from the gentleman at counter - and gave 0% for next corp discountt which i thought was not appreciated. they have issue with landlord!!
Response: Great, thank you Jiva!!
John Modzelewski
John Modzelewski: Selection is okay, but management: freshen up the inventory! I had a hard time getting past seeing a beer (Stone Ruination DIPA) in the fridge with a best by date 2 years old. That’s a good beer — when fresh — and beer drinkers know this. If this store has ancient inventory like that in fridges, how old (and degraded?) are the wines on the stacks? Anybody’s guess. But I was instantly disinclined to buy anything from the store, sorry.
Response: Sorry about that but the distributor had made a mistake ..thanks for catching
Jessy Manuel
Jessy Manuel: Staff are very friendly but this is not the place to go for fine wines. I have seen many of their wines at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s for cheaper for example the Beaujolais Villages. It’s called “The Wine Specialist”. I was expecting more than a liquor store with a few grocery store quality wines.
Rudolf Kormos
Rudolf Kormos: Employee don’t know how to talk with people
Response: good morning i appologise for there behaviour please let me know so we can make things better
Jack Myer
Jack Myer: Awesome store. Old good selection of beverages. Liked the staff too. Love wines, and wine tasting events -frebei!!!
Response: Thanks jack appreciate the review
Raqiba Worthy
Raqiba Worthy: Super friendly and knowledgeable staff of both the products and the area. Will definitely shop with them again.
Clark Gaylord
Clark Gaylord: Great selection especially for such a small shop. Georgian wines too!
Response: thank you for your compliment and your business .
Phillip Wiese
Phillip Wiese: Nice store, the people friendly. I was staying at a nearby hotel and they threw in a nice corkscrew.

1 West Dupont Circle Wines & Liquors: what do users think?
Justin Blackford
Justin Blackford: I’ve made several purchases in a short period of time and this place processes and ships FAST. I’ve been very happy with the consistency. Items have always arrived well packed and in good shape. The prices are the prices. I have no complaints here. No one likes posting secondary prices, especially in the Bourbon market right now, but they are hardly out of line with competition. If you want a specific bottle, they’ve done a great job sourcing it, but be prepared to pay to market. My only complain is email customer service. I’ve sent a handful of notes asking questions and have only ever received one response. Disappointing. Not sure why there’s an email address listed if the company isn’t going to regularly respond. That aspect is likely going to affect whether I continue to make regular purchases.
A
A: Scam. Do not shop here. They switch out the price stickers on your bottles when you’re not looking, no joke. They are scammers, don’t give them your business there are lots of other liquor stores in the area.
Haris Coussidis
Haris Coussidis: Today when I went in, there were 3 men (am guessing staff) who were unmasked, eating on top of one of the counters, clearly thinking nothing of it. The larger gentleman, speaking loudly on the phone and blocking the way to the rum section, was arrogant and dismissive to put it politely. Whilst the two staff at the check out were fully masked and polite. Seriously dissapointed by this behaviour when DC law requires people to be masked at shared indoor places. I will not be coming back - unacceptable behaviour at the peak of a new wave of infections!
Daniil Kontsevoy
Daniil Kontsevoy: They sold me a bottle of Blanton’s online with a broken seal. However, they issued a partial refund because of that.
Khoi Nguyen
Khoi Nguyen: Great selection of beverages here. Wide open concept and everything is easy to find. Prices are reasonable

Cork & Fork LLC: what do users think?
Katherine Koehler
Katherine Koehler: Amazing wine store, love their wine club and events. So glad this is in my neighborhood!
Judy -
Judy -: Wine is nice but overpriced. Went into the shop with a friend to buy a lovely bottle of pinotage that was priced as $30 on the shelf, only to be charged $40 at the till. He was insistent it was $40 even though we both said it was $30. We couldn’t be bothered to fight about it and just paid for it (esp as there was a line behind us), but neither of us will come back.
Jacob Vineberg
Jacob Vineberg: We love this place. Antoinette and her family are super friendly and love explaining all about their favorite recommendations. Local mom and pop shop, staple of the Logan area. Our go to for all things wine.
Rachael Parry
Rachael Parry: What would 14th street be without Cork & Fork! A great family run business, Antoinette & Dominique are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming to all. Highly recommend if you’re in search of a bottle for any occasion or reason.
Stephan Luck
Stephan Luck: Bought a bottle of wine that was very good. Turned out though that it was pretty much overpriced. Moreover, together the wine, I bought two glasses- 30$ each. When I came home, I figured they were already used and full of scratches. When I went to replace them the next day, the guy was extremely unfriendly- wanted me to wait five minutes to finish something on the phone. Altogether- pretty unpleasant. Won’t go back.
jeffery clark
jeffery clark: Friendly service and an eclectic selection of wine from around the world, with mostly wine from small production wineries. Share with Ed your taste preferences, and he will fine the wine for you.

Vitis Fine Wines & Spirits: what do users think?
Scott Biggs
Scott Biggs: A small discovery of wonderful amazement. If you are a wine nerd or not , go see Vanessa and staff at Vitis. Thoughtful manicured selections from around the world makes it worth the stop every time. I absolutely adore this place.
Devon Cantwell-Chavez
Devon Cantwell-Chavez: Vitis Wines has an amazing and carefully curated selection of wines! The owner/manager, Vanessa, is incredibly helpful and helped me select a wonderful bottle of wine (a Chenin blanc from South Africa) to go with our salmon meal we had planned with some friends in the area. As someone with some wine knowledge, but not a tone, this was incredibly helpful advice to elevate my meals! They also carry a wonderful selection of women winemakers (like the Chenin blanc we got) as well as wine made/owned by Black and Latinx folks. Absolutely wonderful place— best way to spend your money in the Union Market!
Lib
Lib: I came here with my mom and sister who live out of town. When we walked in Chris (I asked for his name) was helping a white couple pick out wine. Once the couple left he sat down and started using a laptop. He didn’t look up once to ask us if we needed help. My sister asked him if he had a Merlot and he said ‘no’ and went back to working on his laptop and didn’t say anything else. As we walked out another white family walked in and he got up immediately and starting helping them. I then went back and asked for his name. I’ve experienced this in several places were staff don’t think (black ppl) we can afford expensive items/wines. It’s upsetting and I will never go back to this establishment.
Response: Hi Liberty, I am so sorry this was your experience. It is not the standard that Vitis holds itself to for service. I wanted to let you know a few steps that we are taking regarding the situation and how we are moving to better train staff. We are working on retraining with a focus on DE&I in regards to hospitality and service. We are putting together training modules focused on confronting implicit biases that staff have. My email is vanessa@vitisvinos.com and you are welcome to email me as well because we do want to make our community more inclusive as well. I truly do apologize.
Alex Lucas
Alex Lucas: What an amazing liquor store! Union Market is super cute and this is such an amazing wine bar. Vanessa is so knowledge and friendly! She helped us pick out an awesome rose that we could sit and enjoy. If you are able to I highly recommend you visiting Vitis, and make sure you talk to Vanessa about their incredible selection!
Manfred Phemister
Manfred Phemister: Excellent selection and great service as usual. Love their spirit selection
Rose
Rose: The staff did not want to sell us wine and after inquiring about a certain type of wine he was rude and did not want to assist us further. Very disappointing!
Response: Rose, We're so sorry that your experience was not up to standards of Vitis. Our selection is a bit smaller, but we always want to make sure you find a bottle you may like even more. My email is vanessa@vitisvinos.com and we would love to extend an apology and ask if you would give us a second chance to show you our standards with service. If you send me an email, I can set you up with a special shopping code you can use in our store the next time you visit as a way to say we are sorry and would love to do better.
Suvdaa Ragchaabazar
Suvdaa Ragchaabazar: I really like the way they display their wines, and so many different ones I havent seen before! Writing the prices and flavors on the bottles is really creative and fun. The guy explained things very well and was so nice!
John Carter
John Carter: This is a great little wine and liquor shop in Union Market, they have an interesting selection and the people working there are very friendly and helpful!
Amie Seisay
Amie Seisay: Great selection of wine and whiskey but clean tasting disposable cups would be preferred versus reused glasses for tasting.
harish Ravi
harish Ravi: Great collections and great advisers, picked up few bottles of wines and they are amazing !!!!!

DCanter - A Wine Boutique: what do users think?
Sophie Osborn
Sophie Osborn: DCanter is still my go-to-wine store in DC even though I moved across the city three years ago!! They have everything you could want: unique bottle selection, highly knowledgeable staff who always help you pick out the perfect bottle, a great range of price points and lots of affordable, delicious wines, and incredible education and tasting events! I’ve been introduced to so many neat and interesting varietals and styles through DCanter that I wouldn’t have had the confidence to pick out at a regular store. The website is also impeccably organized and they offer deliveries in the DMV area. They’ve been a wine lifeline for me during the pandemic and have helped me in my wine nerd journey!
Response: This means so much to us, Sophie. Thank you so much!
Matthew Radomski
Matthew Radomski: DCanter is fantastic at all levels - Great wine, great store environment, and great owners and staff. My wife and I have been DCanter Concierge members since 2019 and we have never been disappointed. Thank you Michelle & Michael for all you do!
Response: You’re welcome, Matt! Your support means so much to us. Thank you for your kind words!
Nik Taylor
Nik Taylor: I love this place! They have an amazing website that makes it incredibly easy to browse and purchase bottles from home and then pick them up at the store. They also deliver throughout DC and NOVA (inside the Beltway). DCanter has a vast selection. The staff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, warm, and welcoming. I thought I knew a lot about wine, but then I started shopping here, and they introduced me to SO much more. Cheers!
Response: Thanks so much, Nik!! We're so glad you love our shop and website. We enjoy helping you discover new wines! See you at the shop or online again soon!
John Schwab
John Schwab: "The difference between passable and excellent" ... how I would describe buying wine off the shelf at random somewhere else and coming to DCanter for a recommendation. Walked in, dinner menu in hand, and your staff immediately honed in on two choices. I picked one and it was the perfect complement. Thanks, guys!!!!
Response: You’re welcome, John! We’re so happy we could help. Please come back soon!
Sharon Jessup
Sharon Jessup: We have been frequent customers of DCanter for years, and now especially this year! They have adapted to the change, made on-line shopping easy, including a chat function for recommendations. Love the classes and how we can resume in 2021.
Response: Sharon, thank you for being such a loyal customer. We appreciate your support!
Mallory Pound
Mallory Pound: Only a small section of affordable wine- the rest is overpriced. Nonetheless we liked supporting a local business so we shopped there regularly. When we tried to get a rain check on a wine tasting because my husband was sick, they stuck to their 48 hour cancellation policy. Not a great look for a local business trying to get support from locals.

David Andrew Finkelstein
David Andrew Finkelstein: Excellent wine and beer store that has a great selection, is easy to browse, and the staff are super knowledgable.
T S
T S: Unassuming little shop in Brookline near the Metro stop and Catholic U. with a great selection of wines, knowledgeable staff, and a neat set of online events as a result of the pandemic.
Edward Pollard
Edward Pollard: I was expecting more than a liquor store with a few grocery store quality wines.
Yesie P
Yesie P: The staff, the wine, the prices-- all great! Everyone is alwayswillibg to help, I was not great at picking out wines at first for myself, but they take their time and I’ve learned a lot. This is my go to, for sure! I find it a bit laughable that some give a wine specialty store a lower rating for having a limited selection of beer. I have seen them transition the selection seasonally with local crafts, a couple typical favorites, and some “give these ‘editor picks’ a try.” As a non-beer drinker, I can’t give an opinion.
Jenna Turner
Jenna Turner: A great variety of bourbon on hand with knowledgeable staff ready and willing to help. Often have rare or special bottles available as well. They also have a very good beer selection from across the country. I highly recommend this location.

Grand Cata: what do users think?
Katie Schultz
Katie Schultz: Latin wine-focused shop with a large selection of alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic drinks, food, and gifts. They have a fantastic monthly wine club and are always pouring free tastings of featured wines and holding fun events. A neighborhood gem with friendly staff...you can’t miss it!
Response: Gracias Katie! See you soon!
Shane Tews
Shane Tews: My favorite place to buy wine in DC. They have unusual Latin based wines that are a nice treat away from the old world classics that flood the DC market. Go expo something new. The staff are very helpful and easy talk to about their passion.
Response: Gracias Shane! See you next time!
P Soriano
P Soriano: Good place but sadly the website for online ordering is confusing. Food options not available at get 7th street location. Wine and beer options online are hard to choose since I’m not familiar with the wines and there’s no description.
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We've been adapting to the current situation and working on improving our newly launched online store and attempting to integrate our two businesses in a way that is easy for our customers. We are more than happy to help you over the phone at Shaw or via email at La Cosecha. We of course value all feedback and will do our best to help you find what you need. Please take care, stay healthy and we hope to see you soon in person.
Michael Walsh
Michael Walsh: One of my favorite wine stores. I live in Leesburg, VA and still make the drive to this store. Their wines are not just from Latin America. They have a great selection from Spain too. And not just wines! After visiting Spain I fell in love with vermouth and Grand Cata has a great selection of them. They also have a limited selection of food to purchase. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a wine club you can join. I highly recommend this place!
Response: (Translated by Google) Thank you Michael! See you soon friend! (Original) Gracias Michael! See you soon amigo!
Eric Heath
Eric Heath: The perfect wine shop. Love the owners, love the staff, love the wine. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Nido Wine Shop + Market: what do users think?
Alvaro Bedoya
Alvaro Bedoya: This place is too good. The broccolini melt with mahon, manchego, and white bean purée was so good it was hard to explain. The smoked eggplant dip, same. The tortilla, you guessed it. Best part are the owners/staff, who treat you more like old friends than customers.
Emily McLeod
Emily McLeod: I asked the kind woman working the counter (I forgot to catch her name, but I’ll be back!) for a specific flavor profile of wine at a certain price point and she had an incredible recommendation! It was exactly the taste I was looking for. Next time I’m in I’ll pick up some of the incredible foodie items they had available. 5 star selection and service!
Georgia Lagoudas
Georgia Lagoudas: Loved this shop! An eclectic mix of great wines, pasta, cheese, fresh bread, funny Italian canned things, and CHEESECAKE. Everything was great and service was lovely!
Brittany Hamelers
Brittany Hamelers: I just wolfed down a sandwich from here. The broccolini sandwich was a foodie delight. It was so much delicious gooey cheese. I loved that I could lie to myself and say it was healthy too!
Catherine Ward
Catherine Ward: Incredible fresh baked treats and breads, delicious Spanish tortilla, lovely wine and cheese selection, and fantastic customer service. This place is one of my favorites in the neighborhood - and broader DC!
Lauren Wolkoff
Lauren Wolkoff: This place is such a gem! The thought and care behind all the inventory, the ridiculously friendly and enthusiastic customer service, the welcoming vibe… it all adds up to a “can’t miss” experience. I tell everyone to pop in at Nido when in the neighborhood.
Kirby Page
Kirby Page: Great selection here and friendly and helpful staff! Love a small shop that packs a punch!

Connecticut Ave Wine & Liquor: what do users think?
Not ur average Name
Not ur average Name: I found a couple Bottles of Macallan at a great price.. it was in stock as well and one of them has been pretty much out of stock at many places and those that did have it still, had an expensive mark up price!! So I was really skeptical when I found it on this website for an outstanding price!!! It was a “truly good deal to believe it” kind of thing.. so I ordered them and again I was skeptical that I was getting the real deal and not being scammed out of money! My shipment arrived Saturday (it had a few delays getting here however, it wasn’t this liquor store’s fault) so after the delays it was due to arrive today however, I was greeted with a great surprise and it was delivered This last Saturday when it was originally rescheduled to arrive.. I finally got around to opening the package to see if I had received the real deal.. as I held my breath while carefully opening the package, I was delighted to see 1 of the Macalla drink box.. I pulled it out to check it over and it was all in one piece. I minor dent but I can’t complain.. it wasn’t done during shipment as the shipping box was in great condition with no puncture wounds or dents. I checked the bottle over to make sure it was indeed a Macallan and that the seal wasn’t broken when it arrived so I knew I had the real thing. I wrapped it back up and put it back in the shipping box and grabbed the one I was really looking forward to that I really had a hard time finding in stock and not paying for it with my child’s life (exaggerating but you get my point regarding cost) and I pulled the box out and it indeed seemed to be the real thing.. the box is really pretty colour.. I pulled the bottle out of the box to inspect it, and the seal was intact and it was the real thing!!!! I’m extremely Ex static with my bargain finds and that it was exactly as advertised on this liquors website!!! The person I bought these for is a huge Macallan Fan… they will be so over the moon!!! Thank you Connecticut Ave Wine & Liquor for the great find and for them being the real deal!!! You will have made a grown person (not me) cry!!! I definitely highly recommend this business!!!
Ann Morse
Ann Morse: My favorite wine shop for French wines and good advice. And always a great welcome!
Charles de Boisblanc
Charles de Boisblanc: Nicer wine i bought was oxidized. It has a great selection. The wines are kept vertically, which is not ideal for storage.
Edward Grandi
Edward Grandi: The selection is substantial, the prices moderate, and the staff helpful.. what more you ask for.
Clifford White
Clifford White: Overpriced and when my card wouldnt swipe they REFUSED to manually enter it, even qith ID. RUDE and mistreating of their customers! I will NEVER go here again and HIGHLY recommend no one EVER giving these scum your business
Michael Lai
Michael Lai: Your normal run of the mill liquor store. Does its purpose and has a good liquor beer selection. Not as good as P street liquor down the road...but good if you need a quick liquor store.
Pierre Delucy
Pierre Delucy: Al is simply the best, most helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent rhum agricole selection too.
Jeff Franzen
Jeff Franzen: Excellent service and inventory. Nice quick friendly and free delivery.

MacArthur Beverages: what do users think?
Chad David
Chad David: Great selection of wine and spirits. Staff is friendly and helpful! They also host in store tastings too!
Response: Thank you for your kind words Sir! We appreciate your business, and look forward on serving you again.
Eric Imhoff
Eric Imhoff: Great selection. I was able to order ahead and schedule a day for pick up. The staff was quick to pick up the phone and answer questions.
Conrad
Conrad: Great selection of wines and knowledgeable, helpful folks so you can find what you are looking for without a hassle. Been going here for years and it is a consistently great experience!
A F
A F: Excellent price and service! I ordered a special bottle of champagne for my anniversary- MacArthur Beverages had the best price in town, and delivered it free of charge less than 24 hours later. Friendly delivery driver who respected COVID safety protocol. Will definitely order from them again.
J Bourque
J Bourque: We just had a great online shopping experience with this company. I requested a clarification by email and got a prompt & pragmatic response. I placed the order and the correct bottles were delivered the same day with the correct message for the recipient. It sounds simple enough but many times things are not that smooth, starting with getting a an email reply.
Response: Glad we could help! Thank you for your business.
JS
JS: Excellent wine shop with deep collection of wines from great producers. Prices are also very reasonable and sales prices are great. Check out the Burgundies — several good values and more than one vintage available for several wines. Strong collection of Italian wines as well, especially Piedmont and Tuscany.
Scott Heemann
Scott Heemann: An institution for DC wine. Home grown and local merchant all the way. And the vast selection and knowledge of many of their staff is out of this world. This is the kind of place where you can go and ask for a recommendation for a wine for almost anything and from anywhere in the world. Oh and the prices are very very reasonable too! They give the big box retailers like Total wine a good run for the money. And with added personalized service in a local neighborhood atmosphere to beat. Easy parking on the street within 2 blocks or so
Response: Thank you Mr. Heeman for your feedback! Your business is greatly appreciated.
Christopher Kuper
Christopher Kuper: This spot used to be my go to. I’m not sure what happened, but in the past few months all of their new liquor additions have had their prices jacked way up past what they used to. Part of the reason I loved this spot was that they always seemed to have a unique selection and almost always had a sign that read “best price in the city!” That wasn’t a baseless boast either, it really was superb prices. Last couple times I went in the shelves weren’t nearly as well kept and the prices had risen significantly. Looks like I’ll have to find a new monthly spot. I’ve kept my original 5 star review below. ——————————————— Popped in on a lark. Thought I might find a decent scotch. This place has a modest collection, but boy has it been curated well. All of the usual suspects as well as rare and hard to find scotches, and I think they have the best scotch prices in the DMV, easily. The staff were awesome and talked to me about each rare selection. This is going to be my new monthly shop.
Response: See ya next month!

DVINES: what do users think?
Jack Nugent
Jack Nugent: Bought a growler here for my home brew kombucha, it was way cheaper than anything I could find online and the staff was very friendly. Will be coming back!
Adam Nothem
Adam Nothem: Great liquor store. They have a ton of options for a range of budgets and the beer growler machine is a true beauty. They also have tastings often. Stop in on a Friday evening and you might have the option to taste beers, whiskey, and wine all while grabbing a $9 sale growler to unwind with at home. Employees are very helpful and kind people.
Katy Swiere
Katy Swiere: Helpful and knowledgeable staff. But low rating because, in the midst of a pandemic and a DC mask mandate for indoor spaces, none of the staff were even attempting to wear masks. Really disheartening.
John Brisbane
John Brisbane: Amazing selection of local beer and liquors. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Always get a great recommendation from this place for just about anything.
Kathryn Dreitzler
Kathryn Dreitzler: Okay spot if you need something in a hurry or enjoy beer. We just got engaged and went in for something to celebrate. I asked for something bubbly not to sweet and not to dry and they woman behind the counter noted that ‘bubbly things don’t come sweet’ and then proceeded to be on her phone the entire time we checked out. They lost out on a big potential order and I likely won’t come back for the pretentious staff.

Pearson's Wine and Spirits: what do users think?
Trent Coldstair
Trent Coldstair: Was great back in the 80’s. Very popular. Now it isn’t any different than the other fleabag stores in the area.
michael nunziato
michael nunziato: Found these guys online while searching for a very hard to find 2015 wine. Called them to make sure that they did indeed have the year I was looking for. From the moment I called they were polite and helpful. Ended up ordering a case since the price was so great. Delivery was super fast and perfect. Thanks again! PS will be making future orders.
Princess CC
Princess CC: Calling from Italy to order wines was easy. They kindly supported me and preciously helped me. I would buy again.
Lerato Kale
Lerato Kale: New to the neighborhood and i must say, the selection of wines and liquor are amazing! The service is excellent and very friendly! I love this store
M
M: Excellent recommendations from the staff, great prices and strong selections!
Bita Motesharrei
Bita Motesharrei: My favorite wine store. Nicest staff and manager and great selection at great prices. They can get any wine for you if they don’t have it.
Response: Hi Bita, Thank you for your review. We work very hard to give all of our customers excellent service. Hope to see you again soon!
YOUNG-i The GOD
YOUNG-i The GOD: Racist establishment! Walked into here to purchase some everlcear for some wholistic herbal extraction tincture. Seen a person I know walking into the store, we had some small talk, he was actually making a purchase, non alcoholic (ice). When I requested the everclear the lady told me in a very rude manner that she needs to see both our IDs?! I explained to the lady I have my ID but the purchase is for me and me alone and he has his own purchase. She begun to tell me she was going to deny the purchase because DC laws says groups must all show ID. How does one determine if we are a group or not? Does every person who walks in a store together consider themselves a group? When making a purchase for a individual would you inquire about someone’s else’s identification? I’ve held the door for people coming into The same store as me on many occasions; each time I did that was I establishing us as a group? The entire thing smelled like racism or classism. I even took it upon myself to stop at the next few spirit shops on Wisconsin Ave and they both agreed that was unethical. They also informed me Pearson’s has gone through a lot of changes in management and I’m not the first to have a issue like this with them. If it was racism ironically Africans created the distilling process! So to feel some type of way about two black men walking into a store selling products based upon a practice their ancestors perfected 1,000s of years ago is just ignorant. This why I mostly use vegetable Glycerine in my tinctures anyway 😂
Response: Hello, we are sorry you had a bad experience at our establishment. Your accusation that our establishment is racist and classist is both wrong and offensive. It was very clear from our staff and the security footage that you were both together and part of the same party. Therefore we were required by law to check both IDs, even if the alcohol was for you. Since the person you were with did not present identification, we could not sell to you. DC has very strict laws about this. Whatever opinion of the event you heard from other liquor stores, who did not witness the exchange you had with us, has nothing to do with the law. Finally, we have been under the same ownership and management for five years now and in our 86-year history have had two changes of ownership.
D.M. A.
D.M. A.: Great selections of lesser known Italian wines!!! Great service too!

Irving Wine and Spirits: what do users think?
Rennie Meyers
Rennie Meyers: Seconding all the great reviews — we’re lucky to have Irving Wine and Spirits in Mt. Pleasant! They punch above their weight for the size of the store, with a great variety and good price point. Beer selection always interesting, too, and covers some of the DMV brewers that are hard to find elsewhere.
Ana Fowler
Ana Fowler: I walked in and was immediately helped - the employee, personable and knowledgeable, directed me to the perfect wine for the occasion. I could not recommend this place more! An excellent Pinot noir to pair with pizza - will be back soon.
Chris Joyce
Chris Joyce: Favorite liquor store in the city, owners are always nice and welcoming.
Chandler Richards
Chandler Richards: They always have a good selection and helpful employees :)
Niko Alexiou
Niko Alexiou: Great selection, fair prices, Jessie is very knowledgeable
Pier LaFarge
Pier LaFarge: Without question one of the best liquor stores in the city. The curated selection here is just amazing, at very good prices even for the rare stuff. Really stands out for stock of amaros, digestifs, shrubs, bitters and of course a wide ranging and unique shelf of whiskey, scotch, gin, rum and mezcal. Strong sake game, too. Friendly staff, knowledgeable and always fun. Biscuits for pups!
Amanda Clark
Amanda Clark: Jesse is the best and runs a great store. He has good stock, listens to requests, listens in general as a kind human, and remembers his customers.
Gabriel Anaya
Gabriel Anaya: Amazing liquor store. Everything was great. A huge variety of liquors. The best is the staff, they are really helpful. I will return to buy my tequila and mezcal.

Batch 13: what do users think?
Ryan Rieboldt
Ryan Rieboldt: Big moves, happened upon Batch 13 on accident and loved the selection and display! Surprised how many various beer options were available as well as the tequila and bourbon choices. If I’m ever back in the area will absolutely stop by to see what other goodies I can snatch up. Cheers!
Dave
Dave: Best liquor store in DC. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Great selection with some rare finds I could not find anywhere else in NW.
Alessandro Pisi
Alessandro Pisi: The staff is amazing and the selection they have is wild I have found bottles that I never thought would be outside of their country of origin (scapegrace NZ) a little to over priced but worth it for the selection, would not suggest shopping for a party but more for your own personal collection
Patricia Pappan
Patricia Pappan: My go to liquor store with the best selection. The employees are always very helpful and friendly. George ordered me a specific bottle I was having a hard time finding. Many thanks
Oliver Peña-Habib
Oliver Peña-Habib: One of the best selections in the city, for both wine and spirits. From awesome natural wines from Georgia (yes, the country Georgia) to fancy mezcal and chile liqueurs from Mexico — this is your 14th St go-to. Compared prices with other wine stores in the neighborhood and this was much better. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help.
Sturg E
Sturg E: Miguel was most helpful and patient while assisting us to find the right Mezcal. Thanks Miguel!!
olebirddog theroofer
olebirddog theroofer: Batch 13 owner was really weird and creepy towards me and I would not shop at this liquor store again. The long haired guy at the corner was really nice and helpful, but the two morbidly obese men were extremely creepy following me around the store and never taking their eyes off me. Stay away from the creepers at Batch 13. Look at the other reviews, as they all tell the same story over a long period of time--Batch 13 owners are totally creepy! Stay away!
