VA National Capital Regional Office: what do users think?

John Mountjoy: Great service. I had a last minute requirement which was a complete fault of my own and Jeremy made the time on the busiest day of the month for me to come in and personally walk me through my process. Thank you!

T C: BLU: Do not go to the building and refer to picture. They are not open for walk-ins. The National office could not find their phone number and I had to drive down and get told I can’t go in to the building and was handed this paper. I hope this saves somebody the time and effort of going to DC.

Irene Mina: If I can give Vocational Rehabilitation negative 10 stars, I would! Too many bad experiences to write in such a small space. They need the Inspector General to come and audit, screen and investigate their protocols and procedures. SAD.

Lisa keen: Phone is never answered. Voicemails are never returned. They closed the office on March 19 because of COVID. That was the day of my counseling appointment and I have not been contacted to reschedule by anyone. There is no one to contact to reschedule. This is a nationwide Voc Rehab issue. Media should get on this...

Hector Munoz: I requested assistance and was referred to a AM member that that assist with the applications. I had a Drill SGT to Private interview which at times was unprofessional and lack of respect. I felt as if I had no one to blame but my self for the way my claim litigated previously. All I waned was someone to guide me and I would do the work, but what I got was another bad experience with filling a claim. Good Luck..

Nancy Damiano: Could not be worse if they tried. No follow up on email or voicemails, no one ever answers the phone. Trying to get paid is like having a full time job. Counting down the days until my husband finishes school and we can be done dealing with these incompetent morons. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this group or our experiences with them.

Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs: what do users think?

Devin Reilley: On Vaccines. “However, allowing Darwinism to kill off those too foolish to protect themselves is a necessary evil,” Elliot Tommingo. DC department of VA affairs

Door Mouse: The purpose of the VA separate but equal medical is to save government money by denying, delaying, deceiving, and killing veterans. VA is a parasite living off the misery of Veterans. As a Veteran waiting 30 years for the VA to process my claim, the following are my observations: 1. VA. Is the enemy. VA purpose is to save government money by any means 2. VA claim process is a legal process with life and death consequences 3. Do not talk to or fill out any VA paperwork. One wrong word and you are dead. 4. VA never calls to help you, only to help themselves. If they call tell them to send you a letter. 5. VSOs like the DAV have no legal training. I found the DAV incompetent, lazy, and in my cause actually worked against my claim 6. Before you file a claim, get copies of your medical and other military records. For some reason, the VA loses sections of you records which you are trying to claim. 7. Get time stamped copies of all paperwork submitted. VA Rating Organizations will destroy your paperwork to punish and delay your claim. 8. VA is Evil. VA no longer gives the names of individuals making decisions. VA includes no identifying address and includes encrypted signatures like signed by 5Xy7b3. When I asked for the names even with multiple FIOA request, I was denied. 9. VA will lie to you. This is a government organization serving themselves rather than serving veterans. VA Motto: To kill those who serve to save government money. 10. No accountability or redress. The VA harms you, must complain to the VA. DAV harms you, must complain to DAV. 11. Veterans are not given and is discouraged from legal representation during this process. 12. VSOs like the DAV are the problem. They are friends with the VA and live at the behest of VA instead of veterans. In short words. The US government considers you an unwanted burden, the VA wants you dead, and America could care less.

Ricky Sluder: Over regulated government healthcare does not work for anyone. The people dictating va healthcare belong in prison and need to be held accountable for involuntary manslaughter and neglecting the healthcare needs of veterans. Veterans need a team of lawyers not vso sell outs.

Kenzo Murray: Phone inbox full, hours not up to date online, no email to contact, only open 4 days a week 1000-1600 and these hours are only posted on the door. I showed up and nobody could help me.

bubbooker1: But I don’t care I’ve been stage 4 for over two years cancer. They drop my claims there waiting for us to die they do not care do not go to VA it’s all BS

Andre Brooks: No help AT ALL.

US Department Veterans Affairs: what do users think?

Ciara Long: New to the area but it looks like they’ve recently done some renovations. Nice location, good hourly parking on street and plenty of garages in the area (although most were full) at 11a. Everyone from security to service representatives were professional and helpful.

Pris Dean: Had a hearing in May 2019 for a claim appeal. The facility was secure and the entire staff excellent. I was treated with respect and no one was unkind. The hearing was conducted in such manner that all my concerns were honesty heard. I feel confident in the process and whatever the outcome, that law will govern and every effort will be made to honor the Veterans plight in resolve.

bubbooker1: The terrible do you want to 22 veterans to kill themselves every day. Im tired of fighting I’ve been fighting stage four cancer for over two years they drop Me, claims like a hot potato they don’t care they want us to die

amel han: I have been there many times, the service is some what good. There are also other government agencies in the building.

Carroll Lacroix: No human interface

Joshua Weiser: The VA does a terrible job with veterans and their mental health. I was yelled at by a VA doctor in northern CO, Dr. Geraldine Jerome, because of my mental illness. I have submitted complaints to the VA. They gave me a meeting with two of the doctors at the facility. But nothing has been done to call me down or comfort me They really don’t care about veterans mental health, and there’s plenty of research available out there to back up this claim.

Door Mouse: The purpose of the VA separate but equal medical is to save government money by denying, delaying, deceiving, and killing veterans. The US government considers you a burden, the DVA wants you dead, and America could care less. Shame on the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Timothy Hawkins: Worked at V.A. Med Cntr. FT.. MILEY San Francisco m, Ca. 94117 for 12 yrs. Had yearly inspections from I.G. officer. Always received excellent grades. We had a Dept. Chief who always had us on our toes, to ensure hospital was sterile as possible.

Nury Cohen: The Worst ever, No doctor last time I was their, cannot get anything done, and appointments take months. cannot get precriptions I need. I am making compliant to Inspector General.

bubbooker1: They’re terrible they want us to die but I don’t want to help us there’s no checks and balances for them to help us don’t go there I’m telling you they do not care I’ve been stage four cancer for over two years fighting VA claims

Department of Veterans Affairs Headquarters: what do users think?

Seth: Got sent to the hospital for seizures after receiving a letter from the VA saying they don’t exist. The VA has battled me for years over sums of money spent in 10 seconds of a single firefight overseas. The VA doesn’t care about veterans. Only their bottom line presented to left and right wing shills in Washington. My life is dark. The VA made it that way.

Paul Bismarck: It’s been many months still have haven’t received my BAH from vocational rehab. The people in the office make it look like you are asking for welfare. They don’t care about Veterans.

Charles Stickles: Everything is a fight with the local VA Hospitals. I am so respectfully fed up.

G H: Im surprised to receive an email concerning the Board experience. This a day later after calling the 1-800 and being a little upset told it was Remanded to the RO. I told the disinterested clerk that it has been two years and now I have to wait for the RO, who blatantly failed to read my files the first time to do it again, after the Board had the stuff in front of them. CAVC even alluded to both RO and Board not doing this. I think it is all a statistic game. How can I say if I am satisfied IF I havent even received my decision that tends to go by snail mail or whenever the mailroom folks show up in their office (Im prior CS so I know how games are played) This is the first time I received this survey.

Spence England: On November 9th I had been intentionally hung up on two times and told I was denied a claim that I never saw anyone for. The claim was never even addressed but somehow they made a decision. Unbelievable

Steve Yelton: 9:07 a.m. I was just kicked out of the VSO BRIEFING ROOM (HOMELESS SHELTER SITUATION) before the brief started. YORK,PA VSO Situation: I walked in to receive paperwork / legal POCs TO CROSS CHECK a holistic, streamlined self-contained (no government , no civil "HELP*. CONCEPT. To ensure that everything was kosher. I had already called and emailed with no response from the office 3-4 days. Nothing terrible, I know that they are busy and that "everyone has good ideas". I had briefed a harrisburg office rep that was randomly there and everything made sense to that rep. So I was excited and fired up to share again once I had the first sanity check of the morning and proceeding into the office to ask for help and vaguely briefed a clerk and another random vet who was there to meet the harrisburg rep that I "poached for a few minutes. A york VSO Employee asked me what I was doing in the office, I explained, the Employee invited me into a conference room where (come to find out, there was an upcoming homelessness BRIEFING. I thought great this is an opportunity to share my idea with "like minded people to literally , compassionately and deliberately SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I started crowd sourcing and the VSO-E , stopped me prior my homelessness aspect /idea and asked me to leave escorted me to security. Summary: I walked in "out of the blue" asking for legitimate help, wanted to brief "Steve Yelton solution, prior to the actual brief (crowd sourcing ) for a sanity check to see if my solutions had merit and a GREAT starting point to the meetings. A SOLUTION FIRST, after that, everything else is paperwork. FINAL THOUGHTS GOOD- THEY ARE THERE TO HELP WITHIN THERE SCOPE. BAD-THEY HAVE TO OPERATE WITHIN GOVERNMENT LIMITATIONS UGLY-PRIVATELY FUND AND DO NOT ASK FOR HELP FROM GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. THEY CANNOT LEGITIMATELY/LEGALLY PROVIDE IT IN MY SPECIFIC CONTEXT OR SITUATION. Lessons learned: Go private all the way, funding, legal, ect. Thank you for you time,

Jonathan McRae: Extremely inconvenient... I pay for private health insurance even though I am service connected and receive free healthcare.

marc gentilcore: I work at the DVA as an IT Specialist

Washington DC VA Medical Center: what do users think?

Tri Love: For the most part my experience with the VA have been good. Sometimes the call and appointment lines take forever and hang up, and sometimes the personnel I speak to are grumpy but overall the service is good, the ER is relatively efficient, I can reach my Dr or their team with ease, and, aside from one ER incident with a certain Dr. I feel heard and well treated. My medications come fast, and the variety of programs is nice. Thank you for your service !

Ashton: My first experience in the cafe was terrible. Taco Tuesday at 12 noon they run out of 5+ items that up make the taco bar. Only meat, cheese and lettuce was left. The problem escalated when the cashier told me I was “entitled” for inquiring about a discount considering they discounted the food. He said “well, you still ordered it”, and even tried to charge me more than the set price. When asked about it he said he was told to charge that price yet adjusted the total to the original amount listed. I spoke with Kevin (manager) to oversee this unacceptable behavior. This service was despicable. As it is acceptable to say no, it is not acceptable to dishonor and disrespect anyone. The attitude was undeserving and unprofessional.

Artis Baskin: My most enjoyable and professional VA visit ever. I am a patient at the Yellow Clinic and had my appointment on FRI 15 APR 2022 w/ Dr. Benton. Routine physical and continued evaluation of service-connected issues. The Medical and Lab Technicians were cheerful, polite and engaging and the Phlebotomist Tsedey was amazing. Great visit...thank you for your service!

Lauren Harcarik: Every *single* time I try to call to make an appointment, I am on hold for 20+ minutes. Several times I have been unexpectedly disconnected - even after speaking with someone - and, thus, have to call and wait again. I have been hung up on at least three times (and I just moved to this area). This is the worst of 4 VA systems at which I have been enrolled to receive care. I needed an appointment for a pap smear, and the patient call operator said, "they are not taking new patients," then hung up on me. Thank god I am not forced to rely strictly on VA healthcare, and I will look elsewhere to receive care; however, there are patients who have no other options, and this answer is completely unacceptable.

Mr. Robinson1911: The worst! We lay our lives in the this country and this is our reward. How does one ask for an appointment in May and we are told that we can be seen in January of the next year. Honestly, I don’t think some of the medical personnel is knowledgeable about their craft and they are numb to what some of us really need. This is apart of the reason all of the armed forces are low on numbers…..who wants to serve a country to be rewarded with care from people who really don’t care about you. We are just numbers and the actions of the staff justify us feeling this way.

Emily Breining: VA - where support staff rides out a fed position & does the least in your favor. #1 Know your patient advocate team, keep track of your doctors(they come & go being in a large city.) Know that as a patient you have rights to accurate documentation & efficient service. Keep the VA accounatble for poor service.

Ricky Sluder: These people are starting a civil war and are a threat to national security. They are the enemy of the united states and veterans. Deliberately pushing veterans to suicide or over the edge to use them for gun control. They belong in prison.

Andres Mejia: The representative I dealt with was excellent. Very personable.

Sumaya M. Ramirez, USN Ret.: Awesome, the DAV is extremely smart in and knowledgeable.

Aaron Kent: Waiting 20 minutes at intake. One other person here... Why call it intake if you fully help each person. Feels like the DMV wait

Justin Witherspoon: Man I miss working there. But, haply where we are now

Frank Rice: I went through Vocational Rehab and just finished up. Jannah Wilder was my counselor she was very helpful and supportive of me. Now, I am ready to make the big step forward.

Lee Douglas: Jannah Wilder is the best. I called the Voc Rehab center feeling defeated. I had the college work in and got my degree in Computer Science. In Texas I got my first job, then I had to transition to New Jersey and NO ONE wanted what I had to offer. I reached out to the VA and they set up an appointment with Jannah. She is a person who cares and looks out for the Veteran. When you think that everyone is against you, she will support you. No matter what it is, I feel that Jannah will do whatever is in her power to guide and support us. The VA did an excellent job with welcoming in Mrs. Wilder as a partner. Because of her and those like her, I am very grateful to the Newark Regional VA. Thank you Jannah.

VA Baltimore Regional Office: what do users think?

shannon schwab: Was almost turned away due to not having an appointment due to COVID (we were turned away at the DC Regional Office for this reason), but a gentleman from the DAV told me and my bf to wait. Once the gentleman returned, he took us in to wait, and it was less than 5 minutes to for someone to come assist us. I just needed to have some paperwork scanned and sent off. Both men were incredibly polite.

Dionna Mitchell Channel Zori’s Evelyn: Filed a claim in Dec 2019 and did not hear from my VSO until Dec 2020; after I worked my own claim and increased to 100% without any assistance. The director had the nerve to send me a letter saying if I wanted their representation I needed to stop filing claims. I called him back explained that I called their office numerous times and to got “zero” assistance. This is my life as it means a whole lot to me. I told him and my VS0 thanks, but no thanks for your lack of service. I or any other veteran does not need that type of assistance. I also informed VA about my issues with the regional office. I also requested a copy of my military health record, which they have and have never reviewed it. I will be paying them a visit real soon.

tyrone white: The personnel at this Va claims Service center, Put there personal feelings in the Decisions Ratings. They spent a lot of Denying the benefits for Veterans. I have a Accredited Va attorney, They play games with them also. I wish my Attorney move my case to a another office. Va IG investigate that office for sure.

Mojave Mango: The VA reps love ghosting, lying about whether your claims are open, closed, being worked on, then leaving you on radio silence for months god bless god bless

Paul Craven: I have been getting services from the VA now for over 20 years. I have no complaints about any of the VA offices or staff who have assisted me. The VA Regional Benefits Office in Baltimore is no different. Everyone i spoke to was friendly and helpful. I walked in without an appointment to the DAV office. I waited less than 5 minutes to be called by a counselor. Another 5 minutes and my claim was filed. Thank you DAV for all you do.

GT “Ghost” Haze: Slowest in the nation. When I went there for a few appointments the women behind the desks all put down their romance novels and glare at you as if you are now interrupting their day. Their attitude backs up that assessment. And I have been requesting records from them for the last decade and they still will not furnish them to me or my lawyer. If you can find any other regional office, I would wholeheartedly advise you to do so. My pain management doctor was a independent contractor for the VA and was fired because he didn’t want to give out thousands of Percocets to one person. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called and forced him to do so or he would be released from the VA. My doctor refused to do so. This was 15 years ago.

Darci Bobo: Is there any way you can give NO STARS? These federal resources should be repurposed to other VA offices where they will be managed and supervised and made to do their job timely and responsibly. Probably not all the employees but most... It is a shame they are allowed to treat Veterans with this level of disrespect on the regular.

Diane Coucoules: I am a spouse of a disabled vet who has had to call for the past 5 months to get our pay corrected. It has still not been resolved. Each time, the excuse has been that the Regional (Baltimore) office has dropped the ball. For those who work at the Regional office, many veterans need their pay, so please do your job correctly.

Christopher Richardson: Enrollment verification was sent off by my school a month ago and there is still “no enrollment verification found” for me according to my ebenefits account. Therefore, I haven’t been paid yet. I should’ve received my book stipend by now to pay for mandatory course materials but I guess I’ll pay out of pocket until the VA gets better about the way that conduct business. I just don’t understand what the hold up is. So much for serving my country for six years.

Ashley Gary: i wish there was some kind of accountability in the office but there isn’t and they don’t care. no supervisor and the counselors don’t do their jobs. there is one guy (joe) in there that actually cares and wants to help but your actual counselor won’t allow him to assist because they rather just leave u hanging than have their toes stepped on because theyre not doing their jobs. i have rent to pay, car insurance, etc hopefully i won’t be evicted but this is not something they concerned with.

Walter Murphy: I went here to get some assistance with my fathers Aid & Attendance application and the gentleman who helped me didn’t check both boxes or the pension box which would have allowed my father to get his full retroactive payment from when we first sent in the intent to file. Lack of his knowledge caused my fathers right to his retroactive payment be denied. Even after appealing it they said he would have to give us something to show an error on his behalf and I’ve left several messages and emails and no one has returned my call or email. This is a disgrace coming from someone who is supposed to know what they are doing

Ken Baumgen: Spoke with individual who knew absolutely nothing. Where do I get that 45 seconds back Ken Baumgen
