Beth Harrington: Highly recommend JL Tree Service. John came out to assess the health of 5 very large trees around our house and give an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable and recommended removal of certain limbs on all trees and then cabling a yellow wood with split trunk. Other tree companys we had out to look suggested complete removal of 2 beautiful large trees ( an oak and a beech ). Needless to say were relieved and very thankful to hear complete removal wasn’t necessary. Orlin was outstanding - he and his crew did an amazing job climbing/cutting and removing limbs … very professional and very neat. Soo happy with the outcome !! John Simms: I contacted JL Tree Service a few weeks ago to get an estimate to have a tree removed by my house. I was provided with a prompt reply and estimate with a reasonable price. The removal was scheduled, they showed up on time, were polite, professional and cleaned up after they pulled the tree down. The guy that did the stump grinding showed up today and again, polite, professional and took the time to talk with me about the process. Joan Duncan: We had quite a challenging situation. A mature oak 118 inch diameter within 1 foot of our house was showing severe decline and needed to be removed . The JL crew was amazing . It was very apparent they knew what they were doing and performed like a well oiled machine. The tree was removed without any damage to our house and the area totally cleaned up. Michael Shvarts: Found these guys from their great google reviews and free estimates. They came out promptly to provide an opinion on my tree, made the arborist available to help me through the tree removal permitting process free of charge and before I committed to their proposal, and then when they came out for the job they were punctual and managed to leave the job site cleaner than they found it. PETER KEYS: Luis and his crew arrived on time with all their equipment, and carefully laid out their plan. We had a large tree that needed to be dropped in our forested back yard. Louis himself carefully moved our grill and outdoor furniture out of the way to keep it protected. His crew conducted themselves well the whole time, and were very friendly. Although it was crazy to watch - there were no incidents dropping large branches straight down. Luis worked with us to get the stump the way we wanted, and ensure all the logs were separated so we can use them for firewood down the road. Finally, everything was cleaned up and returned to its original state. Will recommend Riverbend whenever I can. Service: Tree removal

David PINA: Tree down. Customer satisfaction, service performance, and price point are scored on a scale —five stars is the best. I score your team as a seven-star operation. It was flawless execution in two hours. The Riverbend crew arrived on time, had the right equipment, expertly choreographed the tree climber, crane lift operator for limbs to the shredder, and the tree-trunk to the heavy hauler for offsite shredding, and finally the cleanup and departure. My point, team performance was absolutely tops!!

LTCAshworth: Excellent experience with Riverbend Tree Service! They did a great job removing 3 large trees for us in 2021, so when I needed 2 more removed this year they were my first call. David Fishel: We found Riverbend through a flyer in our mailbox when they were in the area doing other work. Everyone I dealt with was professional and responsive. We just bought our property and the trees had not had any care for many years, so there were several diseased large trees, as well as a bunch of other scruffy or broken ones. Some were in tricky spots, like leaning toward our power line. The crew -- led by Irvin -- was well-organized, prompt, and obviously very experienced. They arrived on time and were a pleasure to watch. Most importantly, they performed all of the work SAFELY. It was a flurry of work that transformed our space in a matter of hours. Tree Removal was one of three companies who gave me a quote for tree pruning and they were by far the best value for the service that I was looking for; they quoted me on Wednesday and performed the job on the following Tuesday. s doll: We hired O & O Tree Service for work on three large maples in our yard. They thinned the crown of one, trimmed the deadwood from another, and completely removed a dying one in our front yard. O & O not only came highly recommended from a family member but they also offered us a very competitive price for their service. During the work, I was particularly impressed with the care they took removing the very large and heavy branches from our trees. We have a healthy, old dogwood very near the trees they were working on, and while it took brute strength and skill, they were careful not to damage a single branch on it. I highly recommend Oscar and O & O Tree service to anyone who needs them.

John A: One of the premier top rated tree companies in the metro region. All crews are supervised by Certified Arborists and know exactly what they are doing, specifically with "structural pruning". Ignorance is one who lacks knowledge and obviously these guys know how to properly prune a tree. In the previous post, this individual posted a picture of a tree that was pruned in the 3000 block of O Street, NW in early April of this year. He further claimed that the tree "look like fright night" and "barely survived a hurricane". Why you chose to post a picture 3 months after it was taken is concerning. st ten: We had to cut our large tree to the ground as it was next to the foundation of our house. After getting several estimates, we hired Lopez Tree Services. They did an excellent job! Not only was their price competitive but they were also licensed and insured. Mr. Alvaro Lopez and his crew arrived on time and were very professional in all communications. Gregory Butler: Alvaro Lopez and his company had the best estimate of the four tree service companies we contacted, beat the other companies estimates by $1,600 to $2000. His crew showed up on-time a few days later and took down two large trees from our backyard in about 7 hrs. Everything was cleaned up afterwards and they stacked the cut firewood length logs along our fence for future splitting. The crew damaged our shed with a falling limb and part of the driveway where they had set up the bucket truck but Alvaro covered the cost to repair both. Definitely recommend him and his company for their price, their work, and the responsibility he took for his crew.

Kevin Soo: We hired them to remove and trim a few trees in the yard and grind the stumps. Alvaro gave us a very reasonable and competitive quote, and managed to get a crew out to us in only a couple of days. They did such an amazing job - their work was high quality. They were exceptionally thoughtful, friendly and professional. We have a garden beneath some branches they cut down, and they were very careful to not harm the garden. I was surprised how much sawdust the stump grinding left, but they cleaned everything up thoroughly. Thanks Alvaro and crew! He was very courteous and professional and planned for a somewhat difficult removal due to the proximity of the tree to houses and other trees. David Roberts: We’ve used RTEC for many years for tree maintenance and can’t say enough good things about their service. Dana Johnson: Awesome job from beginning to end. Estimate(by Wiley) was very competitive to remove 5 trees including two challenging ones over my house. Use of the automated crane with grappler and chain saw sped up the job immensely. It only took 4.5 hrs to remove the trees and cleanup my property. Nicki Recchio: This is such a phenomenal company!!! They removed 4 very large oak trees from my yard (overhanging my roof) - they were prompt, reasonably priced, very friendly and did a great job. My yard doesn’t have one divit from limbs falling and my roof is unscathed. I got a number of quotes and they were definitely the most reasonable. They used a large crane/bobcat to haul everything away and left the stumps cut very close to the ground. Great work -highly recommend!!

Kenneth Kempner: Recently, SavATree provided tree pruning services for two large trees and a row of mature Arborvitae on my property. I had needlessly delayed arranging for this necessary tree maintenance for years because I was wary of the hassle and aggravation that I was sure would ensue. My fears were not well-founded and I was placed at ease as soon as Mark Selivan, the SavATree Licensed Arborist who covers the Bethesda area, arrived at my home. Mark’s relaxed and knowledgeable demeanor was immediately evident, and I knew that my trees were in good hands. After I received the detailed description of the work to be performed and a reasonable cost quotation, I signed up for their services. When the work crew reached my house on the scheduled date and time, Mark was on site to start them off personally with specific directions to complement their work order. The crew arrived with two new-looking trucks: one bucket truck, and a chip collection truck trailing a powerful wood chipper. The bucket truck provided a platform for the worker tending to the tree in my front yard, however, the tree in my backyard required a climber to ascend into the tree to perform his work. The work crew performed very diligently and expertly, showing that they took pride in their work and were an experienced team. The care with which they deployed and later carefully stowed their climbing tackle indicated that they were true professionals. The end result was a well-executed tree pruning process, with my property cleared of all debris from branch trimming and wood chipping. Jake B: I was referred to The Davey Tree Expert Company of Gaithersburg by a family member who had used them 7 years ago. I made appointments twice for tree inspection and trimming services and they failed to show up to the property for both of the appointments and provided poor customer service. Therefore, I suggest you avoid wasting your time and look for an alternative company. My experience: I reached out to the contractor via online form on 10-20-2021. I received an email from Toby, the Client Experience Coordinator later that afternoon with a date and time for an appointment on a Monday morning, 11/1/2021. I replied to the email to confirm my interest and availability. Nobody showed up at the morning appointment time. I called the company after waiting 20 minutes and spoke with Toby on the phone, who advised there was no record of my appointment and offered to reschedule. We made a second appointment for later that day in the afternoon. Again, nobody showed up at the appointment time. I called back after waiting 15 minutes, and again spoke with Toby on the phone, who advised the Arborist was "running a few minutes late". It would have been nice to receive a courtesy call ahead of time to let me know the employee was running late. Before the call ended I tried to confirm if the Arborist was actually going to show up (I had taken off work for these appointments since I do not live at the residence and wanted to make sure I was not wasting my time or money). Instead of receiving an answer to my question I got hung up on. I waited another 30 minutes, but nobody had showed up yet. I decided to go back to work and wait for a call confirming arrival so I could go back out to meet them. I received no calls. I have not received any follow-up calls or emails from the company since, so I assume nobody ever showed up. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this using this company.

Lindsey Waldrop: Wow. Sean is the definition of top-rate customer service. He was prompt to arrive for our consultation and quick to follow up with a very reasonable estimate. Once the sod was ready he was able to finish the job in record time. He’s exactly the perfectionist you want to tackle your lawn care needs. While laying the sod he expressed some concerns about the state it was delivered from the farm. Upon a follow-up check he decided (insisted, really) to redo the entire job. Nikki Perez: DO NOT USE CHAPINGO! They are dangerous and very unprofessional. I used them twice. The first time to trim some trees that were very close to the house. I should not have accepted the fact that they were extremely careless as many branches hit the house when falling almost breaking my outdoor light fixtures and scraping the windows. I tried them one more time to cut down a large tree. They were to stack the wood and leave it where I could split it for fire wood. Well, the first day they showed up and said they couldn’t do it. The second day they cut down the tree and left the pieces exactly where they fell. No attempt to control where they landed. Also, several surrounding trees had their branches broken as result of the cut down tree. I had to call 4 times to have any schedule to come back and take a look. The wood is still all over the backyard. Its been over 2 weeks and still not completed. There was no attempt to rectify the situation. I definitely will never use them again. Erick came out to provide a quote and he educated me on a few things to consider as well as some ideas for tree replacement. He was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. Did not oversell at all, but spoke from experience. The job was scheduled for 3 weeks out, but with an option to stop by on the fly if they had time to do it after another job......they showed up the next day!!! Tree was cut and they left zero debris. May have been cleaner than when they got there. Truly professional. It was a very positive interaction compared to the other quotes I received. Elizabeth Valdes: A lot of history and places to visit at Christmas it was beautiful they had the big National Christmas Tree and a smaller Christmas Tree for each state or territory very nice organized.
Jenna DeFosse: A festive outing, this year (2019) the state trees were not arranged in a circle like they have been in the past I think, so that was a little odd as some trees were off on separate pathways. The trees are nice if you take the time to look at the ornaments on each tree. Might be nice if there were outdoor heaters here.
Rachel Rachel: Really nice to see at night, but also not bad to see during the day! It’s certainly not as crowded if you visit during the day, although you won’t see the nice lights. Also- very cute trains running around the main tree. There are smaller Christmas trees for each state in the U.S., each of which is decorated by ornaments made by children from a particular school in the applicable state.

The decoration was very good from top to bottom and there were also miniature of few small localities with small running metro trains through those localities. I could not taste the food they had there but the smell was good ..lol

The whole experience from our pre-dinner drinks to the end of the evening was first class. The staff are all welcoming and helpful and the service was very relaxed and we weren’t rushed at all even though the restaurant was very busy. The food was superb and I had the Belly Pork with crackling which was divine!!! We will definitely be back again for sure and I can highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Andrew Griffiths: Not as fanciful as it used to be. All ornaments are the same style spheres that everyone fills up (or rarely, paints) with things from thier state. The lights and stars are all the same. I remember years ago the trees were very unique and there was a giant Yule log that was burning which offered great warmth to the visitors.

Eduardo Moser: We visited during cherry blossom days. They have a great variety of cherry trees and magnolias. It is a complement to know different cherry blossoms from those of the Tidal Basin. There is no proper public transportation, so the place is fairly free of tourists. We came to this place by car on the recommendation of a friend who lives in DC. The Bonsai collection is amazing. There is much to walk and explore. On a plain they have mounted the original columns of the Capitol. Bring some snacks and drinks, because there is no service in the place. Access and parking is free.
Da-Wang Wu: We came here in late April, and the Azalea blossoming was pretty amazing! Walking on the trail with the Azalea blossoming along the way was very nice. Parking inside the park can be tricky, so we parked in the lot right next to the entrance and walked 5-10 minutes to the main campus. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, and I would definitely come back.
CJ: Depending on when you visit the US National Arboretum, something different is peaking. In mid April, the fruit trees were just past peak, but the lilacs shrubs were close to full bloom. As I strolled thru the lilac grove, the soft lilac fragrance permeated the air. One of the US National Arboretum’s most prominent and a little puzzling landmarks is the old Corinthian National Capitol Columns residing on the Ellipse Meadow. The US National Arboretum was not the column’s intended home when they were quarried back in the early 1800s. Originally, the columns were built as a part of the east portico of the US Capitol Building now located about 3 miles away from the US National Arboretum. By the 1860s, when the dome of the Capitol was completed, the columns were deemed inadequate to support the new dome. It wouldn’t be until the mid 1980s before the columns would find their final home at the US National Arboretum. Twenty-two of the original 24 columns are on majestic display in Ellipse Meadow. During our trip to the US National Arboretum in mid April, the Azaleas were just starting to bud and bloom. So no good pictures this trip. Peak time for the Azalea garden at the arboretum is late April. I hear the Azaleas are a beautiful sight when the hillside is painted with splotches of different colors.
Karthikeyan Rajaram: Luck is when you run into a beautiful place like this without planning. Better luck is when you get into it in the company of a person who used to volunteer at this place. We didn’t really plan to be at the arboretum, considering that the Spring is still not Springy enough. We had seen enough of Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal basin area that we thought we could do something else. We just made it to this place on recommendation from one of our relatives, who also accompanied us. Since he was a volunteer here, he helped us navigate and gave us so much insights about the different kinds of plants, flowers, bonsais and the what the lovely people who work here, do. We drove around this place and still got to see more cherry blossoms, along with different other species of flora. The enchanting Bonsai museum is a must visit as it did take our breathes away. The old columns of the capitol and the grove of different state trees are some of the special features of this place. The flowers were not in full blossom and we definitely look forward to checking this place again in summer.
Logan Heilman: Visited for the Bonsai event they were having and had a blast. All the vendors were great and the museums bonsai and penjing exhibit was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.
Elisabeth “Beth” Ostrander: We only had about an hour and headed to the bonsai area. Wow! To see living gifts from Japan and China that were started and cared for since before the birth of our nation was truly outstanding. Befitting our National Arboretum! Will return to see more treasures!

Olivia S.O: Best nursery I’ve ever been to. Customer service is absolutely incredible, they’re happy to help + they know their stuff AND my favorite thing? When they don’t, they CHECK. No need to act like you know every single detail on every single plant, and having us customers deal with the consequences. Abby helped me pick a rubber tree plant and an aloe plant, and gave me shipping information on when I can come back for a snake plant. She also gave me a ton of information on each, types of planters, and some extra info for my stubborn calethea medallion at home. Even went outside to get me a cart when my plants became too much for my arms. Leanne was super sweet, showed me a rare plant they have coming in, and helped where she could and brought Abby over to me because she was in a different department. There was a gentleman who was walking around loading things, saw I had a rubber tree plant in my cart and just gave me a bunch of helpful information. You can tell these people love their jobs, their coworkers, and genuinely love to help. It’s refreshing!! I’m already plotting on a few more plants so I can go back!
Alicia Anderson: I have shopped here for at least 10 years. Every season I look forward to my trip here..sometime several times per season…I purchase with the understanding that I get Quality and Service. This Christmas I purchase 3 small beautiful holiday plants. In less than 9 days after caring as instructed, the plants began to die. I brought them back to the store only to be told that they cannot be exchanged. No exceptions, especially with me not having my receipt yet they were aware that I had recently purchased a Christmas tree and not certain why both were not in the system. I purchase from this store and I knowingly overpay because I presume that I have a quality guarantee that I would not get elsewhere. Not the case! This is not a store that is committed to longevity and quality service. I will no longer make a commitment to shop here first. I will bring my money to a establishments that’s more connected with service and guaranteed quality not just getting a sale

Ashley Robertson: My friends know I love plant nurseries. One friend taking on a big landscape project asked me to recommend a nursery near DC, with fair prices, a wide selection, and knowledgable staff. I immediately recommended Patuxent. And they did not let us down. We were helped by Gabby who knew the best outdoor plants for my friend’s waterlogged yard. My friend wanted to attract butterflies and Gabby showed us the options for those as well. Several other staff members helped us protect and load up her truck with her selection. I was especially impressed because it started raining while we were shopping and Gabby grabbed her raincoat and kept on showing us around...well my friend around. I went inside the garden center to keep dry 😂. After picking her outdoor plants my friend had a question about an indoor plant that was dying and Gabby directed us to an indoor plant expert! Witchman: Fantastic customer serice and great selection!! I was looking for a half yard of topsoil, which some nurseries wont do. I sent an email and they promptly replied. She said they do and gave me the price. Checkout was quick and the loader operator was on point. Five stars all day long!
Caren Raphael: The manager name Lisa G was very rude! I could hear her in the radio. She was giving the cashier the feedback thinking i was not hearing.. before she even know the facts she said the answer is NO! While shouting. When i asked to speak to her she refused to come said she is working worth a cashier. I said I will wait.. she told the cashier again in the radio rudely “she will wait a while then!!! I said politely that is fine. Then she said she wont come via radio… At this time her rudeness was out of control.. the cashiers told her “she can hear you” .. In few mins she showed up already saying no with no questions asked. Even the gentleman who was there who was a reasonable person who explained that the plant was planted and I have an account the lady proceeded to be rude and decided to win rather than doing the right thing. We spent $600 and exchanging the plant which dies for $20 was what brought all this!! This is beyond bad customer service.. i have never got this type of treatment anywhere!!!!

Stunna Daren: They have a wide variety of plants…bought some black mulch which the landscapers says was good quality. A little more expensive, but you do get some warranty on the expensive plants. Also, the manager will personally assist you with questions the staff are not able to. Which is understandable, not all the staff can be highly knowledgeable in plants and shrubs.

Jo-Ann Watkins: We had 3 very large trees come down during the September 1, 2021 tornado. The trees fortunately did not cause irreparable damage to our house or our neighbors house. The trees were covering our neighbors enclosed porch roof and damaged their brand new car. On our house, the trunks, limbs and all of the branches and foliage covered our shed, part off our roof, half of our back and front yard and blocked our neighbors driveway. I called Monster the day after the storm. Many people near us had far worse damage, but Monster took the time to look at our house and assessed our tree problem. They came back within 3-4 days and removed the 3 trees on our property and 5 trees that fell on our neighbors. Monster had all the major work of both our houses completed in one day. Then, a couple days later Monster sent someone to pickup all the logs and a team to finish removing the small branches and debris. From the time I first called, I believe they had our 2 houses done in about a week while other neighbors were still waiting for a tree service to come out and give them an estimate. Monster is a great company. The men are skilled, professional and careful. They clean up the property before leaving and they are nice. We have used them for years for tree trimming, removing trees, grinding stumps, feeding trees and using their arborist when we have questions about the health of our trees. We have found them very fair in pricing, always knowledgeable and accommodating. I would give Monster 5 stars and highly recommend Doylestown Monster Tree Service. J. Alan Feister: I started working with A.I.R. in the fall of 2021, and so far, I couldn’t be more pleased with their services. I had been trying maintain and repair difficult spots in my lawn for several years with poor results, and I finally decided to open my wallet and see if a professional could do better. I selected A.I.R. because of their emphasis on organic lawn care, which has become particularly important since I live in Montgomery County which has banned the use of herbicides. The owner, Zack, gave me a very honest assessment of my lawn and the difficulty of maintaining grass on a shady hillside and backyard that experiences a lot of water flow during rainfalls. But he did provide a thorough fall program based on soil testing, including application of lime and fertilizer, and aeration and overseeding, and he gave me detailed instructions on how to ensure that the new grass grew. Following his instructions, the results were far better than anything I’d ever achieved on my own, and the new grass came in thick and healthy. Unfortunately, a few weeks later after everything was coming along nicely, the landscaping company that takes care of common areas in my community ran their heavy riding mower over my backyard after several days of rain, ripping up a lot of the new grass and leaving deep ruts. At my request, Zack worked aggressively with my community association’s management company to provide a cost estimate for repairs, and within about a week A.I.R. was able to come out and fill and reseed the damaged areas (at community association expense). Unfortunately, by this time, it was too late in the season for much of the grass that was planted this time to grow, but that wasn’t A.I.R.’s fault. I should also mention that communication with A.I.R. on scheduling and other matters has been very responsive – both Zack and Christiane in the office have been a pleasure to work with. I feel like I am getting excellent advice and great service, and will happily employ A.IR. again this spring. Service: Grass seeding
Robert and Lauren Stamper: The lawn in front of my parent’s house has had issues growing grass the past several years, and they’ve spent a significant amount of time, energy, and money attempting to replenish it back to a healthy lawn. I have known Zack for about 10 years and remembered that he owned a landscaping company, so I decided to reach out to him to see if A.I.R could help. We talked over the phone and decided to start with a Soil Test at first to determine the next steps. I was blown away- we found out that the front lawn was 90% sand. I was impressed with the detailed and thorough charts that Zack sent after the test, and I appreciated how he went over the chart on the phone with us in a very thorough and professional manner. We talked through next steps, and shortly after, we had the aeration, overseeding, the natural/organic lime application and compost application done. Zack even gave us some sweet A.I.R masks! Dan Rosenberg: My lawn is in bad shape and we were looking for a company that could help us fix all of the bare and dry areas that are now in place. The staff at AIR were truly professional to work with. They came out and did a soil analysis to get to the bottom of the issues we were having and to also design a plan that took our lawns unique needs into account. Zack came out to perform aeration and seeding and I could not have been happier with the job that was done. We now have a roadmap that I believe in for growing a healthy and organic lawn. Zack was very informative and quickly assessed what we needed, and gave us a quote on the spot. We decided to get seeding done as well, and the quote he gave us was very fair. PAUL Mele: I was looking for a true organic lawn care service, not one of the hybrid services. Contact AIR is the only one in my area with certification by one of the two organic agricultural organizations, in this case NOFA - Northeast Organic Farming Association I absolutely did not want chemical bombardment of my lawn,, which is what I see many of my neighbors doing even though chemical pesticides and herbicides are banned in my county.. Discussions with Zack Kline covered the products AIR offers, the entire process for lawn service and the expected results thoroughly. I had AIR perform aeration, seeding, liming and compost spreading. A week after seeding with daily watering, the new seedlings are numerous throughout my lawn. I am certainly not a lawn fanatic, but this is exciting and we are looking forward to further growth over the next several weeks. Service: Grass seeding
Beth Hook: We’re very happy with the work Zack has done so far, and even more so with the way he did it. We contacted A.I.R. to revitalize our front and back yard lawns using organic methods and supplies. Our front yard contained many areas of thin soil, moss, many kinds of weeds, bald spots, shady areas under trees, and only very occasionally, grass. Our back yard slopes strongly, has to deal with water runoff, as well as most of the challenges mentioned for the front yard. Zack created a plan for our lawn and always kept us in the loop about when materials would arrive at our house, kept us advised of when the weather was going to allow him to accomplish his work, and came as promised. He was always friendly, and willing to answer any questions we had about what he was doing, and still got the work done. Even before all the steps of the plan were completed, we noticed a remarkable improvement in the appearance of our lawn; it looked green instead of patchy!
