The Dorm - Young Adult Treatment, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Seth Carter: This place is amazing! They are so friendly and helpful. Their program is a mix of personal therapy, group therapy, addiction treatment, eating disorder management, and social interaction. Their location is in a very convenient location only a few blocks from the DuPont Circle metro station. The atmosphere is clean, modern, an has a lot of natural light. They have a kitchen, pool table, group room, conference room, and yoga room. The main hangout area has two couches, a few chairs, board games, and a smart tv. The staff is very kind and understanding yet willing to call you out on your bs.

Lois S: My daughter is showing much more regulation and improvement with the combined therapy and coaching. Really appreciate the level of communication and support for parents. Feeling hopeful.

Therapy Group of DC: what do users think?

Ryan Scott: I would highly recommend the Therapy Group of DC for anyone looking for counseling or therapy in the DC area. I’ve known Brad Brenner, the founder of Therapy Group of DC , for years and is a valued colleague. Since 2003, he has been hard at work to create a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of issue or sexual orientation. They’ve created a particular expertise in working with GLBT clients. Yet, they have much to offer anyone interested in therapy, whether it be individual, couples / relationship, group, or testing interventions. One major benefit of going with a group practice like District Psychotherapy Associates is the opportunity to work with a range of therapists, increasing your chances for a good fit. Common issues experienced by clients who work with this practice include, anxiety, career issues, depression, couples and relationship challenges, premarital counseling, Brad is continually improving the quality of care he and his colleagues give to those who chose Therapy Group of DC . Highly Recommended! Linda Ritchie: It is without hesitation that I recommend the Therapy Group of DC. They are a unique set of therapists who are dedicated to making a difference in the community. They are sticklers for professionalism and only use evidence based treatment protocols that they can track for progress and results. If you seek help at Therapy Group of DC, you will get a therapist who will treat you with acceptance and compassion and will provide you with exactly what you need to grow and move forward in your life.

Lolo W: Experienced PhD level therapists ensure you are matched with the right person to help you achieve your goals. I have known and worked with Dr. Keith Clemson for a number of years. I am impressed with his skill and compassion in working with all clients, and special expertise with couples and LGBT matters.

Heather Lyons: I would highly recommend the psychologists and counselor/therapists at District Psychotherapy Associates. They are highly skilled in individual therapy, couples counseling, marriage counseling, career counseling and specifically work with the gay/lesbian/LGBT community. Very competent clinicians with a high level of integrity!

Bodhi Rader: The therapists here truly create change for their patients and do so through a fantastic experience. It is clear the practice is concerned about their patients, but beyond that their staff and local students studying/preparing for their PhD as well. If you are ready to solve the issues in your life, give the Therapy Group a chance.

Erik Conroy: Dr. Brad Brenner, the founder of Therapy Group of DC, and I have been colleagues for nearly 20 years. I’ve often consulted Dr. Brenner for career direction and advice, and his sincere, pragmatic and empathetic approach shines through both his own work, and the practice he established. Therapy Group of DC has a diverse group of therapists who work with a wide-variety of individuals, making therapy both accessible and impactful.

Seeta Patel: If you have been considering starting therapy, I highly recommend DC Talk Therapy. I have truly enjoyed collaborating with the therapists here. They have all been very responsive, friendly, and genuinely care for their patients. I always hear patients speak very highly of their care with this group.

Katherine O'Rourke: As a divorce attorney in the District of Columbia and Maryland, I have sent numerous clients to DC Talk Therapy to work through the conflict and struggle that comes from a contested divorce. After working with the therapists from DC Talk Therapy, my clients report feeling supported and grounded such that they are more easily capable of engaging in the difficult conversations surrounding pursuing a divorce.

John: David and the therapists at DC Talk Therapy are some of the warmest, friendliest, and most empathetic group of people I have ever coordinated with. The patients we share in treatment together often remark to me about how pleased they have been with their care here, at how much they feel heard, understood, and encouraged to grow in a safe and healing environment. I am proud to call them colleagues and highly recommend them!

Ashley Alderman Tucker: I saw David for years, and recommend him to everyone. He is patient and kind, and takes a genuine interest in helping his clients. With David’s guidance and encouragement, I was able to completely turn my life around. I also did a group with Barbara-who is also great. Going to DC Talk Therapy is the best-and most positive life changing-decision I’ve ever made.

AJ Drobnick: David Sternberg and the therapists at DC Talk Therapy are excellent. As a psychiatrist in the area I regularly refer patients for talk therapy to this group and receive consistently positive feedback about their care. Several patients have made significant positive changes in their lives while in treatment at DC Talk therapy. I have found them to be particularly good in helping patients with mood and anxiety problems.

Field Trip Health: what do users think?

Renee Peres: Wow! Field Trip Health exceeded any and all expectations. While the experience in and of itself is wildly enlightening, it was absolutely shaped, enhanced and all around wonderful because of Charles, Tamia, and Shannon. The space itself is zen and tranquil even when located in the epicenter of DC. The moss walls were a nice welcome and the rooms are personalized and pretty, I want one of the lovely recliner chairs for myself :) Charles and Tamia are experienced professionals and also made me feel extremely comfortable. The process was smooth, communication was very clear, and I look forward to returning. I strongly recommend Field Trip Health.

Martha Bader: Incredible staff, space, and experience. The entire process was phenomenal and I highly recommend this protocol for anyone that is looking for extra support and guidance in tackling life with some more tools in their tool kit ;) I found this to be a safe space to further explore patterns. Thank you!

Anyone who works with her, as a client or colleague, will have the opportunity to see these strengths and more at Thriveworks.

Especially any black males looking for someone who looks like them and can relate.

District Speech and Language Therapy: what do users think?

Sarah Parker: My 3 year old son started at District Speech about 18 months ago to address his language delay. Both of the therapists he worked with, first Anna Carr and then Lee Morra, were excellent. Once he started catching up on language, Lee began addressing his speech delay. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me great tips and tools to practice with my son at home. My son absolutely loved going to every biweekly session he had with both Anna and Lee, and they both made it a very play-based approach. I was so proud and grateful when his latest assessment showed that he is now hitting all his age appropriate milestones for both speech and language! I also want to call out Katie Nelson, the Operations Manager, who does an amazing job managing all the billing and scheduling. She was always extremely helpful and responsive to all my billing questions and was very responsive and detail-oriented. Thank you District Speech!

Teresa Teresa: Lee Morra at District Speech and Language is a wonderful and effective speech therapist. He gave me the tools, guidance, and encouragement to speak better. Lee taught me speech exercises so I can practice saying and using words and phrases I commonly use. He taught me techniques to organize my thoughts and talking points for meetings and conversations. He taught me that even though I have a cognitive impairment and problems with memory loss, I can speak coherently. Once I started using these techniques, I started getting better results in meetings, with customer service, and at appointments! The speech improvements I have made using the tools and techniques Lee gave me have given me the confidence to start and join conversations again! Now, I am not as worried about forgetting what I am talking about mid-sentence as I was before speech therapy. The real proof of speech progress came when my primary care physician told me I was more organized, more to the point, and better spoken than I have been in almost a year. I replied "speech therapy!" My doctor and I are happy I have access to resources such as District Speech and Language and Lee to help me. Thank you , Lee!

Evelyn Taylor: I went to district speech for transgender voice therapy and district speech set me up with my instructor Sophie Edwards. I had a great time learning from Sophie and feel more confident and knowledgeable in speaking with a more feminine voice. I would recommend her to any trans girl looking to feminize their voice.

Eva Herrada: I would really recommend Sophie Edwards at district speech for anyone trying to feminize their voice. She was a massive help to me and after a few sessions I had results that I was very happy with. She gave me exercises that really helped with my goals for my voice and gave me feedback that made it much easier to learn. I had tried other resources but having someone giving me feedback on what I was doing right and wrong made a huge difference.

A. L.: I had the pleasure working on my expressive disorder in a virtual setting with Lee. He is very personable and knowledgeable and has helped me with organizing my thoughts to overcome this problem. Also, Katie was super helpful in scheduling me for an immediate appointment with a therapist. I highly recommend anyone looking for professional and prompt service to this center!

Claire Rutledge: Sophie was very good at helping me gain control of my voice. Our lessons were organic but always honed in on what I needed to work on. In a few short classes I finally gained access to the voice that felt natural to me and allowed me to express myself fully.

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation: what do users think?

Meredith McGoings: I came to Lucia at Star Rehabitation and Spirts in January with excruciating left knee pain. She messaged and gave me exercises to do daily. My ability to walk without pain improved quite a bit. Now I am pain free and walking without a cane. I highly recommend Lucia Lee as a very knowledgeable physical therapist.Meredith M.

Nick Rajpara: Dr. Lucia Lee is extremely welcoming and a great explainer of what is happening with your ailments. She is friendly and focused on helping her patients. The best physical therapist I have had so far.

Jura: This place is fabulous. As a customer of Sports Therapy and Rehab before the pandemic, I was skeptical about switching to online Physical Therapy for my shoulder. Kathy Braun is amazing and she is so skilled at therapy that she can immediately give you feedback as you are doing the exercises she demonstrates for you. I get huge rewards from my weekly online sessions with her. Kathy has a staff of amazing therapists and a very thorough and dedicated staff that keep everything operating smoothly. Everyone you encounter is upbeat and focused on getting you better safely. I highly recommend them.

Douglas Lister: Kathy Braun was wonderfully perceptive and through beyond my expectations in evaluating my condition and providing initial direction.

Pouneh Dadmanesh: Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation (STAR) offers and delivers great personalized physical therapy services. STAR has truly amazing staff members and excellent physical therapists. I would like to thank Katherine Braun, Jesse Fuller, Allison Evron, Lucia Lee, Natasha Harper, and Hope! In my view, STAR is the best physical therapy center in the Washington D.C. area. Kathy is truly exceptional; she is the best and most compassionate physical therapist I have ever worked with. I have been at STAR many times in the past three years. More specifically, I have been there for torn rotator cuff, chronic neck pain, sciatica, and pelvis injuries. Tissue massage, stretching, strengthening, joint mobilization/stabilization, and athletic taping have been among the treatments I have received at STAR. The physical therapy sessions have been very effective. Kathy has helped me recover from sciatic problems and strengthen the muscles and ligaments in my shoulder and improve my range of motion significantly. Kathy has also taught me proper techniques that I can use regularly at home to manage and alleviate the pain associated with my injuries, words are not enough to express my gratitude. I have also been working with Jesse on core strengthening and mobility. He has created a good and unique workout routine for me. Jesse is a very knowledgeable personal trainer; I highly recommend him.

Malachy OConnor: I am very impressed by the service Natasha Harper provided me. She was helpful, resourceful, and courteous while working through the resolution of a refund I was seeking. I could not have solved this without her. I appreciate her "stick to" in getting the job done. Thank you, Natasha Sincerely, Rose OConnor

Andrew Bird: STAR’s commitment to quality of care, attention to detail, and the depth of knowledge and experience from similar procedures/patients is a critical part to my great rehab from shoulder surgery. Did my homework and toured several PT offices prior to surgery back in March. Allison Evron at STAR was my top choice and I am so pleased with her contribution to my progress. What impresses me most about Allison is her keen awareness, intuition, and active participation in my rehabilitation process. She always takes time to listen to my immediate concerns and I think she grasped my long-term recovery and skiing related performance goals before even I did. She knows when to push in exercises, does not hesitate to correct poor form, and recognizes pain thresholds just from my facial expressions. This level of care alone is worth a 5-star rating, but I’d also note our seamless transition to telehealth appointments during DC “stay at home” without losing momentum was awesome. Very motivating experience. I highly recommend STAR, and particularly Allison for all physical therapy care. They have restored my faith in dedicated physical therapists. That is a monumental achievement after an awful experience elsewhere where I felt like a meat pile on a Chicken McNuggets assembly line.
