Tea Mansion | DuPont Circle | Washington DC: what do users think?

Stephanie “Fleisher” Pankiewicz: I went to the one inside Montgomery mall. It was awful. The people there were super nice. I had tried both the samples and found them weak, but was in the mood for a bubble tea. I ordered a Hawaiian mango. Terrible. It tasted like it was heavily watered down, no flavor at all and the bones were inconsistently prepared (some were over done and mushy and some were hard/under done). Despite it being "mango" the overwhelming flavor was watered down pineapple and lemon. Would not visit again. Several people tried it, all had same opinion.

Julia Cabral: I really liked the dragon fruit drink it was very delicious and has Avery subtle but still tasty sent.

nevaeh kim: The tea is good but nothing will bring me in there if the DANNY is there. He treats his employees horribly. I spoke with an employee and she told me she received no breaks and was told by her manager Danny, she “can’t eat on the companies time”. It’s honestly disheartening. It really just turns you away from wanting to shop there. Please find new management !!

Michael Evans: This place is amazing! Everyone is really knowledgeable and helpful, not just about tea, but the city in general. If you love a hige selection of teas and a great environment, stop by!

Chloe Robertson: Best tea and so many to choose from. We love the it!

Alexander Robinson: Awesome selection of premium teas from all over the world. No artificial ingredients are used in the beverages. All 100% real ingredients which is really the main reason I chose to come here. Plus the staff was extremely helpful and genuinely interested in tea and serving a good product that is all natural.

Joanne Wallace: Stopped by on a trip to DC for unique and delicious loose leaf tea. The young man was very knowledgeable and helpful. For the price I hoped it would be worth it. I was not disappointed!

Anu Batra: I stumbled upon the store today and Julia was extremely professional, patient, detail oriented, and sold me on a bunch of teas. I will be back both for the tea and the pleasant service.

joshua hawkins: Danny and Amanda were awesome!! ☕️ Great Teas

Colin H: Personally, I love the Tea Mansion. The store is well stocked, with various varieties of different flavors of tea. I would recommend this location to anyone who is a true connoisseur of tea, or just an individual who wants to try a rich flavored tea. The staff was also very friendly. There was a young lady who was very helpful in recommending unique Green Tea flavors. The vast variety always provides a new option, even for those (like myself) who've been countless times.

Lady Camellia: what do users think?

Jeff Tong: Fun but noisy. For such a small place, the customers just talk too loud. The place would benefit greatly from some indoor sound dampening. The sandwiches might be the best part. While the teas are great, they do seem overpriced. The macaroons don't seem to be much different from anywhere else. It would be 3 stars if they didn't sell out of their Apple croissants and if they didn't mess up our orders twice

Rachel Bell: Lady Camellia is amazing. The finger sandwiches and tea are absolutely delicious. The food is presented delicately and they have a wonderful selection of pasties and scones. The cute decor and antique dishes/tea cups were so fitting for the setting. A relaxing atmosphere to enjoy tea with girlfriends.

Hannah Shachar: I really enjoyed this experience with my mother, sister and kids (8 and 9). The tea was excellent with a huge selection, the sandwiches were delicious with very interesting flavors, and the pastries were also flaky and excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and tea and the pleasant and intimate atmosphere. I would definitely meet friends or family for tea again there. We were afraid that it was just a gimmick and the food would not be great, but everything was perfect.

Renee Ethier: I have been here several times, and love everything about it. The tea and food selection and quality is great. I never knew I loved clotted cream! I think it is reasonably priced. The ambiance and service are also lovely. The only downside is that you NEED a reservation, and they usually book out a few weeks for weekend reservations.

Destiny: I love this place! Tea parties all grown up! The food was delicious and the tea was perfect! It's a pretty small place so spots are limited. Call in advance to book your appointment because they go up quick! It was nicely decorated and comfortable. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Harley Johnson: You’re definitely paying for the experience here. It was a very pleasant experience and we ordered the full tea service. Everything was yummy and we were well taken care of! Dislikes: - gratuity was automatically added for a party of 5 - server was kind, but very slow with each step (despite the fact that there are only 5 tables) - there are only 5 tables...it’s such a squished space - everything was pretty crowded on our table so it was hard to even pour tea at times

A. Zerwas Carter: The staff are very attentive and friendly. The food and tea is hands down the best high tea in DC. Cozy space in Georgetown with parking all around. Highly recommend!

Rajiv Dewan: Little, and little is accurate, and awesome tea joint in DC. The scones and pastries are terrific. Good ambience. But make sure you have a reservation. Good service as well.

Smita Bhattacharya: Charming little place. Though we had reservations, we still had to wait a bit, which was a bit awkward considering the small space. The ambiance is very cute and intimate and I loved the details. A bonus is that menu has options for all price points. If you’re used to a European style tea where the portions are limitless, you’ll have to note that here the cost is per serving.

Myiah Smith: A beautiful gem hidden in the neighborhood of Georgetown. Its a smaller quaint space with pastel walls and english style decor. The fine china is so amazing, the floral designs are perfect for any insta photo! The place requires a reservation, as its preety popular and stays full. Despite the crowd, the place is full of warmth and a lovely time. I went with my two friends and we ordered from the tea for two option with additional cream tea. There are an array of options for every taste mood, savory and sweet. The portions are tiny, but its heavy and delicious. I rate four starts due to the bang for buck, quantity and service. Our reservation was at 11am, maybe we over stayed the welcome, because we were a bit rushed out for the next reservation with out finishing all of our tasty treats! Considering the relatively high price to the small potions, paired with being rush, I rate a star bellow 5. As an undergrad short on luxury change, if I spend my dollar, I wanna make it worth it. As nice as the place was, I just wanted to take it all in, and take my time. I'd definitlly return though, my dad loves specialty tea, and this place after all is beautiful and delisious. Word to the wise, dont be a slow poke like me!

Valley Brook Tea: what do users think?

Jace J: So welcoming and sweet ! Please go support this family owned business . Pistachio rose croissant 🥐???! Who would’ve known ! So angelic to bite into. Great place for business meetings, study dates, and they have items for sale ! If you’d like to see my blog coverage on this cafe follow my Instagram @Jacetravels_ . also I would love to do a in depth blog on your company for some behind the scenes and really learning about the background of your company.

Jack Goon: Great spot for good tea and working/studying! They have lots of natural light, really nice upstairs area, tons of tables, plugs, everything you need.

Linden Yee: The tea is lovely and I've never seen it brewed by pour over before, very unique in DC. Lots of space to work, strong wifi, and a great playlist. Super cute and not too crowded!

Matthew Henry: Such a gem! Incredible helpful with such patient explanation of all their incredible teas, tea making and serving devices. Be sure and check out the incense fountain. The tea and pastries are delicious and a wonderful experience. Food should look as good as it tastes, in my opinion. When it does, you have a full sensory experience.

胡倢瑄: Been there twice! The tea is definitely professional. There is a strong flavor for Rou Gui but I do like it. Thanks for the recommendation from the staff. The decorations inside are cute but you still can get some traditional Chinese tea vibe.

Stephanie Enaje: Meh. Good selection of teas and some unique Asian pastries and lots of seating. Otherwise - TeaVana blocks away is the superior tea experience. $6 for a medium cup of tea is crazy (not even with the bag so you can steep another).

Liviane U: I entered this adorable little shop and asked the staff for recommendations. I am so happy I stopped by! The terrace was warm and sunny (on a chilly day) and I loved everything I had. I definitely recommend the taro pastry with black tea! Delicate and delicious!

Isaiah Puder: Great little tea shop. There is plenty of space to read or work either upstairs or on the patio seating. Good selection of teas and pastries as well.

Zheng Jia: Highly recommend. I know the quality of tea is very good and their way of brewing is authentic. It’s independently owned by a couple from the region most famous for high-quality oolong tea. You can also buy gifts there. The interior design is cozy and beautiful.

Love EJ: Various selection of oolong tea.Tried for the first time - very clean and natural interior design

Dolcezza Gelato and Coffee: what do users think?

Fatima D: This might be good for gelato but I was really disappointed with their coffee and pastry selection. Super small space too it's uncomfortable to sit there. The music was loud in the morning. The staff were super nice though. Just beware that like many. places in DC, they require you to show your vaccination card before you sit inside, otherwise you could order takeout.

Peter Ferguson: I love stopping by Dolcezza. I don't get there every day but when I am in Dupont I stop by. The pastries and coffee are great. The location is ideal if you are heading into the city from Maryland. Also it has Wifi so if you need to stop in for a coffee and do a little work, you are covered.

Emma Jeanie Beanie: The staff are very friendly and helpful in making a decision between all the delicious flavors. I got hazelnut crackle and Swiss chocolate, and enjoyed both immensely. Also, their chai latte is one of the best I’ve ever had! Even though it’s a small shop, there are a few cute places to sit and the atmosphere is very cozy. Will definitely return on our next dc visit!

Sassy Sauce: Nice place but the parking in this area is bad. There is a farmers market every weekend between the metro and this store. A lot of people are in the area to have lunch and shop and it’s difficult to find parking. Also, the gelato is good. There are a few different ones in the city and all of the locations are consistently good. The normal flavors you would expect. Sometimes during the cherry blossom festival there is a special flavor offered. When we went, there a small line but it moved quickly. The flavors are great and the texture is smooth. Always satisfied with my choice.

Arash Tavakoli: We ordered Latte and hot chocolate. Very nice place, welcoming barista, and much less sugar in their drinks which I absolutely loved!

Victoria Quiroga: Nice! The matcha latte was great. No vegan /dairy free sweets though :(

Iris Tan: Recommended by a friend and when we came here we realized that we have been purchased this brand for a long time .. great to get a chance to eat gelato out of fresh lol

sia shetkar: The berries and marscapone gelato makes me wish I lived in DC. Such a cute little shop, and the staff were so nice when I was deciding on flavors. Would recommend!

Timothy Chambers: The gelato was AMAZING- the best I’ve had anywhere. So tasty, smooth, and a terrific span of flavors. The dark chocolate was rich. Loved the Dulce de Leche- my new fave. We enjoyed the service with a smile, the charming atmosphere, and my wife’s cappuccino was really good, too. We’ll be back. :)

Miguel Curiel: Best gelato I’ve tasted in DC thus far. Plus, it is in a vibrant and youthful area so you can easily pass by after eating in any of the multiples nearby restaurants.

Teaism Tea Shop: what do users think?

India Lindsay: I was surprised by how good their tea is. You gotta try the mango lassi with boba. Such a refreshing, slightly sweet but also tart drink for a summers day

Levi For Waifu: Order taken- heard me the first time on everything. No confusion, socially distant. Ordered ginger limeade and vegetables kabob, waited 7 minutes and cost only $11 even, before tip. Menus on the door so you can read before going in. Ginger- not joking about that. Tons of chunks of it for a refreshingly strong flavor. Kebab- even brussels sprouts cooked perfectly, wasabi dip refreshing and not extremely hot for me. There is boba tea but only one kind, I didn't feel comfortable asking for a non caffeinated version but that's my personal social distance. Definitely worth a visit!
Response: Well that about sums it up! I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit and your food! When it comes to the boba - we can put the pearls in whatever beverage you want - some people like them in mango juice - they are also good in iced berry beauty - so there are options. Stay in touch.

Sylvia Sidney: Ordered two golden monkeys hot tea. Very flavorful sugar not added. Kind of pricey for tea but worth every penny. Will revisit.
Response: Thanks Sylvia - we appreciate your kind review and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Beatriz Brugarolas: This is a really beautiful small shop with handmade fair trade products from different countries. I felt a strong connection to the earth and people just seeing their products. And they are affordable, just a bit pricey but that's what things should cost, it wasn't an unreasonable price. I loved it
Response: Beatroz - thank you so much for taking the time to review - we're also on facebook if you want to stay connected. We try to post about new products, menu changes, info about tea and health!

james malone: The best place to buy loose tea in the city, they offer many different types from oolong to herbal, as well as tea pots and cups and extras. This is a great place to get a unique gift for those that enjoy teas.
Response: James - thanks for the review! We're stocked with lots of lovely holiday gifts - tea for everyone on y our list!

Mary Bogdanovicz: Excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Great place for tea!

Lindsey Lichtman: The boba tea was delicious, and a reasonable price

Jiří Donát: Fantastic little shop. Don't miss!
Response: Thanks Jiri - I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to the shop - we also do mail order if you need anything!

Winnie Huston: Good food at a reasonable price. Had Japanese tea soup with salmon. 😋
Response: Thanks Winnie - I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to the restaurant - the ochazuke is one of my favorites too!

Erica Hanna: Tasty herbal tea blends!
Response: Thanks Erica - while we primarily focus on black, green, oolong and white tea - we realize that there is a time and place for the caffeine-free herbal blends. My favorites are the world peace and star of africa. Lots of lovely things for the holidays on our website!

Calabash Tea & Tonic: what do users think?

Marcelle M (Traveling Miles): Unique neighborhood tea shop with so much more to offer. I had a delicious Matcha Maca and a Spinach pastry (so good, just the right amount of heat). Loved the variety of bagged teas and accessories. Can’t wait to try more. Nice seating area outside.

Rebecca Wolf: Calabash is the best! When you come to Calabash, the team will ask you how you’re feeling to help direct you to a healing drink. They also have TONS of goodies to purchase for use at home, too. Their outdoor patio is a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Nicole Edwards: Great reprieve from the hustle and bustle. Wonderful place for small kids AND fur babies- hard feat in a small space. Delicious, affordable, healthy and staff is beyond helpful and efficient. Great experience!!!!

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: So I first experience the spots tea at Queen Mothers in Arlington Virginia. I was so elated by the freshness, and outright deliciousness of their products, I took a mental note to go to this spot!! @calabashtea Located at 2701 12th St., N.E. Washington D.C., right on the corner, this spot is emitting a Divine Energy on that whole block!! I had their “Panther Par-Tea”Half-and-Half, and their “My Last Good Nerve” Lemonade (cold) when I first tried them…STAMP!! Their products are made with attention to detail, love, and your well-being in mind… Trust that!! . . . On this trip I got quite a few things… so let’s get into it. Firstly I copped their Vegan BLT (pictured with their house made coconut bacon $6.99). STAMP!! It has house made coconut bacon!! It’s the BEST faux bacon I’ve ever had!! . . Next I copped their Veggie Patty (pictured soy free with cabbage, corn, carrot, curry, onion, and garlic $3.99). DELICIOUS!! It reminds me of a pot pie. . . I also couldn’t resist getting their sweet potato pie bite & the cherry pie bite (both pictured at $3.99 each). For these to be vegan, they’re ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! . . Their chilled tea’s, I got, were all $4.99 each (All pictured). The Triple Goddess Lemonade has Organic Jamaican ginger, Sri Lankan Tumeric, Thai Galangal, & South African Red Bush. It’s a immunity booster, & inflammation fighter. STAMP!! . The Love Potion Chai has a high grade Assam Black tea, Jamaican Ginger, Madagascar Vanilla, Ceylon cinnamon, oat milk, Love, and Chai spices in it!! It’s a feel good tea, a mental stability tea, a LOVE tea…oh and it’s ridiculously tasty!! STAMP!! . I got their Jamaican Ginger Sorrel too. This has organic hibiscus, Jamaican Ginger, Thai lemongrass, Orange Zest, Jamaican Spices, and LOVE!! It’s a detoxifier & a blood pressure regulator!! STAMP!! . Lastly I got their My Last Good Nerve tea…hot!! It has organic lavender, outstraw, Passionfruit, rosehip, LOVE, and I got oatmilk put in it. This tea eases anxiety…STAMP!! . The customer service in establishment is excellent. The store is clean. Their website is easy to navigate. Parking is decent. GO!! That’s it. #bigschlimsreviews

Sydney Browne: When I called to ask if they were open, the owner immediately replied, “Fall through, boo!” And I knew in that moment, I was headed to the right place. From pulling up, to ordering, to sitting in the healing garden, and being accommodated thoroughly, the entire experience was aligned and appreciated. I ordered the BLT (per usual because it’s bomb), the Last Good Nerve Lemonade, An Apple Pie scoop, and a Triple Goddess Lemonade. This meal was everything I needed!! I’m 8 months pregnant, and everyone between the guests and staff, went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure I was beyond comfortable. I will always be grateful for that. Calabash Tea and Tonic is one for the books! Don’t meet me there, beat me there because it’s that great.

Kajal Mawa: Okay so there’s a way it’s done, you walk in and you land into a different place. The place has a very trippy vibe! The tea guru asked me what kinda healing I needed and based on that improvised a tea that would cater to the kind of healing required 🤓🤩 It was a different experience and one to cherish! I was delighted to see that my cup read “love is calm” ❤️☕️ I loved the omega bite and the mix vegetables patty too 😍😇

Nils Hünerfürst: Love is free at Calabash. Tasty Vegan Pattie and a very welcoming service. See ya very soon.

Adele E: When you walk into this lovely shop, you are immediately welcomed with a burst of positivity energy. The tea gurus spent time with my friend and I to understand what type of healing we were in need of. He then suggested tea blends based on our needs. They are patient, kind and the teas & lemonades are very tasty

Blanca: I wanted to give this place four stars but I am going to give this place another try next time, because I’m sure they were having a bad day. but when I was asking some questions I felt like the barista didn’t really want to help or explain any of the tea’s into detail or maybe he wasn’t knowledgeable about any of the tea’s. But I did like the vibe and how beautiful the restaurant was. I really love their love potion it’s my most favorite drink

Lindsey Coates Horvatich: Updated: The teas and the customer service are above and beyond! I did not expect to receive a call from the company hoping to resolve a shipping issue. As someone who has many autoimmune health issues, I have turned to teas to reduce the need for medications and I cannot say enough good things about Calabash. I also give the teas and bath salts as gifts. This company cares not only about customers, but about the growers and producers as well. Don't worry, Calabash. You have this Florida girl as a customer for a long time! I have been ordering from Calabash for a few months now and really love their teas! The only problem I have is when I received the wrong item in an order, I tried to contact the company via recommended communication method and after three tries and a few weeks I still don't have a response. They only offer their email address so there doesn't seem to be a way to get incorrect shipping orders resolved.
Response: Hi! Feel free to buzz at at the number listed 202-248-1186 (during our business hours) or inbox us on our chat feature on our website. We are happy that you love our items and want to always keep you happy. We look forward to chatting with you soon.

Cozy Bubble Tea and Coffee: what do users think?

Matthew C: We ordered an iced latte and milk tea with bubbles 50% sugar. The milk tea was sickeningly sweet. Sweeter than drinking melted ice cream. Probably similar to drinking straight maple syrup from the bottle! No exaggeration. Had to throw it out after two sips. 100% sugar must be literally only sugar in the cup. The latte was just ice coffee. No actual latte machine or steamed milk foam. Two stars because the building itself was super cute and the employee was very friendly.

marilia rojas: I'm sorry but I will have to agree with below comment, I took two sips and it went in the bin. My tapioca was dry inside because it wasn't soaked enough, tea was not great either. The packaging is for smoothies/frapps so it didn't make sense. Overall bad experience. In my opinion, you should know how to make bubble tea properly if you are advertising it.

Linden Phillips: This place is awesome. It has great staff who remembered us when we came back the next time, and even remembered our order. Also, the restaurant right below (city sliders) was incredible and run by the same people. I love this place it is great. Check it out when you are close by you will not regret it.

Ali Hamdan: For anyone who has had actually good boba, this was a hue letdown. Tapioca was way overcooked so it was just falling apart. Oolong was super weak, barely any tea in it. Just milky frothy blegh.

alex hilton: I think this maybe the worst boba I’ve ever had. First off they made the green tea to bitter (which means they didn’t they didn’t put enough cold water to balance it out and burnt it) second they put brown sugar boba in my fruit drink!!!! What the actual f$&@k I took two sips and it went straight to the trash. Are they trying to play the people of Georgetown by not having honey boba! The manager seems as if he doest have a back bone to look at me in the eye. I see there also using kung fu tea old stuff how original😒. I knew this place was bad but not this bad Gordon Ramsey needs to come thru to straighten this place out .

Hadley Dean: It is amazing! Go here all the time! Love the tapioca bubbles and mango green tea! The customer service is amazing! Thank you so much!

Antonia Jara: It’s the cutest and literally coziest place in Georgetown. They have great boba and very kind and warm people who work there.

amina sultani: Very delicious Oolong Milk Tea and beautiful seating area inside. Highly recommend.

Lauren Cassidy: It was open but I waited 15 min and there was no proprietor. There was no "be back soon" sign or anything either. It was eerie.👻

Mabel Gudiel: Amazing customer service in a warm cozy atmosphere.

Soho Tea & Coffee: what do users think?

Weekend Warrior: It was a good place to get work done. The outside area was quite noisy being near traffic, but the inside was fine. Only issue was that the servers forgot to bring my sandwich's to the table, or even call out that they were ready. If I didn't see them, we never would got them.

Hannah Sadollah: Mobile ordered to avoid the line and ended up waiting 20 minutes more than everyone else that arrived around the same time we did. Coffee come with the food so we just had to sit and wait for 30 minutes. The sandwich was $10 and it was average in taste. Coffee was good. If you come here only order a drink and do not mobile order.

George Ivanov: Tuna salad had mold growing on the tomatoes, all orders were delayed, and the wrong items were sent out multiple times. A line of disgruntled customers were talking to staff about their orders the entire time I was here. The staff at this coffee shop should be retrained and management replaced. You're better off going to any nearby Starbucks.

Lisa Smith: My favorite cafe in DC! I come here very often. The place has changed tremendously after the new owners took over. I love their pastries and teas. My favorite is the Green Pomegranate tea. They have happy hour as well. Wine and beer on a great price.
Response: Lisa, Thank you for sharing your feedback!

Debra Olson: Delicious coffee and tea, plus delicious pastries. Friendly staff and quite reasonable prices. Nice patio for eating outside or comfy chairs and tables inside. I suggest it for a relaxing weekend afternoon spot.
Response: Thank you Debra for your feedback. We will look forward to serve you again!!

Victoria Jones: Sooooo delicious!! Definitely top 5 best breakfast I've ever had!! It was my 1st time here. I had a Croissant with ham spinach egg & cheddar cheese!! Blueberry muffin & oj!! The service was great! The cashier guy was so cool & informative about the menu! He was short lol idk a name

Just a name: There are hundreds of coffee and tea recipes but there's only a few that are any good. This place has the latter. You can always judge a place by how they brew an Americano. Of they can mess up something so easy, they are not worthy of any money. This place nails it. Food is not bad.

Kiara Ivanova: Hands down, the best local coffee shop I've been in DC. Fresh and delicious pastries with a great variety of REAL loose tea and delicious food. My favorite spot from now on!
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We will look forward to serve you again!!

Michael Kellar: Comfortable cafe, nice service, awesome location. Come to DuPont, get a little off the normal path, and definitely worth a visit while you do something work or just wait for a meeting.
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We will look forward to serve you again!!

Jamie Gaitor: Liana was a fantastic server! We came in a little after her shift ended but she was happy to take care of us and converse with our group. The coffee was great, will be back whenever we visit DC again!

Spot of Tea - 14th St: what do users think?

Mike Stumpo: Tasty tea! It was awesome to discover this spot inside of Streets Market. I loved the Taro Latte and Blue Jasmine (the tea really is blue). Can’t wait to try the Thai Blossom next time.

Jenn C: Came here a couple times while visiting DC. Grocery shopping AND boba too? Amazing. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I liked that I could customize the sweetness and light sweetness actually is light. Taro flavor is bomb, the draft tea latte was my fav!! So good I want another one now.

Morgan Hah: Not to be dramatic but I do think that Spot of Tea is competing at the highest tier of maslow’s hierarchy of boba!? By that, I mean one need not worry about any of the blocking and tackling because it’s all there - sustainable packaging, freshly brewed ingredients, adjustable sweetness levels, super chewy boba. But even past that, every drink on the menu is super inventive, a little bit whimsical, and refreshing to the last sip. I also adore this tea shop’s mission, which is focused on building local community and taking care of their employees 😌. Most recently, I got the blood orange creamsicle, which I was expecting to be pretty good in a flintstones push popsicle kind of way and kind of blew me away because it hit that nostalgia factor, but also was a lil more tart than one may expect. I think the extra zing made it super balanced. My non seasonal rotation includes the butterfly jasmine tea (pictured below) which is great on its own, also great w milk.🦋 Don’t sleep on spot of tea!

Lindsay Brubaker: I was really wanting to try this place cause the drinks looked so pretty, but as it was out of my way, I hadn’t been until today! Got the blue jasmine with oat milk (at no extra cost!!) and it was delicious. I was also really impressed with the eco straws AND the reusable cup options - if you buy one and bring it back to reuse, you get 10% off. Love to see this!! 👏👏👏also looking on the website, the cups are compostable!!

Courtney Magill: Lavender Earl Grey with boba is just chefs kiss! So refreshing and nice, chewy boba. Everyone who works there is so nice too - highly recommend!

Lindsey Stiles: Located just inside the Streets market (convenient to order and then shop around) We got the Candy Cane Matcha Boba and it was delicious! Also they had the nicest barista working there today - all around great experience 🤗

Tiana Jae: If you're in DC and you love boba definitely stop here. Cute little boba shop and the girls that work there are very nice. Big plus is the doggy daycare across the street that you can sip your boba and look at doggos at the same time :).

Tamanna joshi: If you love boba and shopping, this is your place! This neighborhood is lovely and vibrant. Boba service is great! I had tried their red valvet one loved it !

David Hand: I came here to try out their boba tea. I was not disappointed. I've visited at different times per day and the boba has always tasted super fresh. I love my dairy, but for those who prefer non-dairy, they have an oat milk option. They serve coffee, tea, and boba tea in hot & iced versions. They don't start serving the boba tea until 11:30 am so keep that in mind. It's a local company as an added plus. The location in Streets Market is spotless and bright and the staff is friendly and super efficient. I was enjoying my boba goodness in no time. I've only had the milk tea with boba but the taro seems to be wildly popular with other reviewers. Check this place out if you get a chance, you won't regret it!

Jessica W: Tea quality and the service are excellent!! The staff is so friendly! I can customize my drink the way I want! I love the matcha flavor. The trip to the tea shop is the best part of my day.

Tynan Coffee & Tea: what do users think?

Nathan Bickell: Price on the menu is not the price.... It felt like the tax on my orders were absurdly high so i asked for a receipt. Turns out there is a "recommended service" automatically added to your order, and then tax on top of that. The receipt still has recommended gratuity, so this isn't a tip... also it can't be a tip if you HAVE to pay it... Also you don't even get the option to accept or decline a receipt... I had to affirmatively ask for it... also shady and clearly done to keep people oblivious to the charge. Absolutely nothing in the store or the menu indicates this is the case. If you need to raise your prices fine... but just raise the price! Don't add some hidden fee to every bill. It's a nice place but I'm not going back to support nonsense business practices like this.

Jessica C: This place has my favorite lattes/mochas. I think it’s because of the textured milk. Their seasonal honey lavender latte was fantastic — sweet but not sickeningly so. Their ancho chili mocha has the exact right amount of spice. Unfortunately though, these don’t translate to their iced coffee counterparts. If you want a flavored drink, order it hot, as the flavoring separates and you can taste powdered cinnamon (or whatever it is) when served cold. Great selection of pastries including bullfrog bagels. This is always where I go for a treat.

Herbert Meisner: When I move into a neighborhood, I really try to become a part of the community. My favorite thing to do is find coffee shops to try out and meet the staff. Before I moved to Columbia Heights, I visited a bunch of coffee shops. Tynan is by far my favorite coffee shop in DC (and honestly, ever!), and holds an incredibly special place in my heart because it was the first place I dined indoors and sat in to work after being fully vaccinated. The staff are incredibly friendly (shoutout to John, Leti, and Maria!), their food is great (especially their power bagel, love bullfrog bagels and the BMT and grown up grilled cheese), and I love their homemade syrups for lattes. The staff are so personal, I brought my parents to the coffee shop and introduced them to the owner. Its a lovely place, lovely vibe, favorite coffee, and super convenient since its right next to the west entrance of the Columbia Heights metro. Its my go-to local coffee shop, and I can't praise it or recommend it enough!

Audrey Jane: Ordered a delicious cafe con leche. Their ginger flavor was great. But I came here specifically to work on homework the register worker informed me that the manager turns off the Wi-Fi on the weekend?? The description for this place advertises wifi, I was disappointed when there wasn’t any. Had to go to another place, wish I didn’t spend my money here

Margot Igland Skarpeteig: Perfect espresso - so sweet! And patient and super friendly staff.

Shey Wilkin: Made a quick stop into Tynan during our trip to DC pre-pandemic. Nothing too memorable, but I do recall it being really close to the bus stop, which made it super convenient, since we were strictly traveling by free public transport at the time. Husband had that delicious looking waffle, egg, and cheese sandwich sitting in a pool of syrup. I think I got a turkey avocado sandwich. I would go here again.

Real Live Blue: The everything bagel, blueberry waffle and turkey sandwich are amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥

Chris Dock: Writing this on my phone because their wifi is that bad. Decent place to come for food, the coffee is just okay, and I can't recommend it at all if you need to get work done. Go to Tryst or Elle instead nearby.

Haim Haviv: Laptop-friendly neighborhood cafe. However, the bagel my breakfast sandwich was served on was dry and internet is limited so you need a code every hour. Otherwise friendly staff and a spacious place.

Nancy Cosner: Amazing. Chilli ancho mocha. My new fave. I like spicy. This has got just a touch at the end. Barista super helpful and friendly. My first visit. Will definitely return.

Ching Ching Cha: what do users think?

Caty Koehl: Had a wonderful, relaxing time here enjoying chicken rolls, dumplings and tea. The chicken roll was perfection and the tea was enjoyable. The server explained how to brew our teas and they refilled the kettle regularly so we were able to make multiple cups. The atmosphere is relaxing and we never felt rushed. The tea shop section is also great and has a varied selection of tea mugs and pots as well as a small group or tea pets. Highly recommend Ching Ching Cha for a afternoon slowdown.

Andrew Grassette: Cute little place in old Georgetown. They serve a variety of teas. We tried the lunch boxes as well as some of their dumpling and the food was a amazing. This place does get busy and they have a sign in sheet to keep track of who is waiting on a table but worth the wait.

James Wang: Quaint and authentic teahouse and shop that offers relief from the busy DC life. The servers are all very nice and the expansive menu of tea options is divine. I would highly recommend coming in and spending an hour drinking tea and eating the small appetizers they have.

Pelumi Ajayi: It was a really decent Chinese tea house experience. They had a whole booklet of tea options. Oolong, black, green and some fruity teas I believe. Their food collection is very limited and rightfully so given that the tea is supposed to be the star of the show.

Sam M: A very unique and cozy teahouse and shop in Georgetown. This place is pretty quiet and has a great ambiance, a perfect place to relax from busy DC. I was greeted by the waitress and seated immediately. They have an extensive menu of traditional teas and also some unique teas. They had so many good teas, but I ordered Jasmine blossom and peach blossom teas. I also had pineapple cakes, which was recommended by the waitress. Both teas were very flavorful and delicious, but the pineapple cakes were just out of this world! So good! I believe they make them in house too. They also have a lunch box and dumplings, which looked really good. After enjoying those teas, I was looking around the shop. They have a lot of beautiful tea sets and decors. I was thinking about getting some of them, but they were very expensive. Whenever I visit Filomena Italian restaurant, I always try to visit this place afterwards. They are right next door to each other, which is very convenient. After eating a heavy and greasy food, this place is complementary to filomena. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to take a break from the busy city.

Chiara: GET. THE. BEEF. ROLLS! Might be my new favorite food. This place is unassuming but has the best food ever and the tea is great. Very calming experience and the staff are very friendly. I can’t wait to go back!

Bridget McGovern: This is the best tea salon I’ve been to in the DMV area. The atmosphere is calming and welcoming. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about tea and explain the process of each of the different brewing methods for the different tea types. I couldn’t recommend this place higher.

Angus Bennion: Love this place! There are so many different teas that you can try here. The food is also very good. Not only are the food and drinks good, but they also have lots of tea paraphernalia and books that you can purchase.

Alan C.: Great quiet place to chill and get away from M Street in Georgetown. Relaxing and comfortable vibes. Nice assortment of teas. We ordered a Milk Oolong and a Da Hong Pao both served gongfu style in pretty yixing pottery. The lady gave us a quick lesson on how to make tea in this style. The hot water was left at our table for us to make multiple infusions. The food was also nice and light. Which was very comforting after eating so much highly seasoned food in DC. They also sold yixing pots as well as nice tea ware in their restaurant if you wanted to buy it.

Paul Mc: Excellent. Top tier. Must try. This spot is an absolute gem. It has a cozy tea house vibe, and a great tea variety. The green and oolong teas we tried were outstanding, and you’re given the whole tea set to brew your own tea with. This is a very fun experience, not to mention the deserts are fantastic and pair excellently with the tea. I think the food is less interesting than the tea and deserts, so I’d prioritize those. Staff was attentive and nice as well. Amazing, will come again.

Teaism Dupont Circle: what do users think?

Min Li Fu: What a cute place to go for a meal before/after sight seeing at the White House. They have many unique and common tea selections. The food are Asian inspired and not like what you commonly see in other restaurants. Their cookies also look quite scrumptious.
Response: Hey Min - I'm glad you liked the Salty Oat cookies - we do ship them if you develop a craving - call me at 202-409-1285 and I can make it happen!

Jessica Martin: A utterly delightful tea, small plate, and sweets place that never disappoints. A comfortable selection of indoor and outdoor seating perfect for working on your computer or catching up with friends. I got the jasmine crème brûlée which is rich and fresh and the jasmine tea with is perfectly brewed, not bitter at all. Prices are very fair and the servers are kind too. And they have all the information for allergies like gluten on hand if you need it. I’m glad this location stays open until 8.
Response: Jessica, thank you so much for this thorough and kind review! We really appreciate it. Hope to see you again.

Bolo 'Ye: This place is great!! I highly recommend it. The food is very delicious, great location very convenient, friendly staff, it’s very quiet inside you can literally come here do your work and no disturbances. You can either sit on the first floor or 2nd to enjoy delicious food. If your looking for a parking garage, LAZ parking garage is 2 minutes driving $10 all day.

Henry Whelchel: Teaism is serious about their tea. I haven't had a cup quite this good in some time. The kitchen is also very talented.

Gaby Karakcheyeva: I go here very often and always get great quality food. I usually get the salmon bento box and the star of Africa tea and it never misses. I haven’t been disappointed by any of their food and the service is usually pretty quick depending on what you get, I’ve never waited more than 10-15 minutes
Response: Thanks Gaby - we're cooking from scratch so that takes time - trying to be as quick as we can. Hope to see you again soon.

Ido Simyoni: Went for lunch. Counter service only. Even though we set upstairs, we had to come down to get our food. They messed up my order but fixed it within couple of minutes . Food was good After all.

Ronak Patel: Come here!! Not only is there a wide selection of teas and beverages, they have really great food. While we only came for some tea and an appetizer, it was all made exactly how we wanted it and one of the employees suggested these broccoli tots after I had ordered another broccoli appetizer (so I followed her suggestion) and I was not disappointed!

Jane Jing: So many tea choices. There was so much noise from the kitchen when we sat on the second floor.

Amorah Shakti: Felt like I was eating cafeteria food. I ordered the curry lentil soup. It tasted from a can and was not made with fresh ingredients….I also ordered the sweet potatoes with miso sauce. They were served cold, straight out of the fridge. It was also quite an unusual combination and tasted weird… The shop offered to microwave it, I declined. The tea selection was decent but didn’t have the quality I was looking for. Service was ok, but didn’t seem to care. Bye Teaism 👋

S D: I am not one to leave bad reviews but I feel like I have to, sadly. Firstly, maybe it was an off day, but the staff was not very helpful nor friendly. Since it was my first time here (and honestly I've heard good things), I was expecting more when I was asking questions, but I guess that's my bad - should have researched on my own. Secondly, and most importantly, the gentlemen making my "tea" did not close the lid correctly, nor did they warn me about the defective cup. So when I left, the lid opened up, spilling boiling hot water all over my hand. I now have painful burn marks on me. It's been a day, but I am still extremely upset and disappointed and I feel like I wasted my money on this place that (no offense) is not even that good.
Response: Hi S, please let us say we are so sorry that this was your experience. If you can email us your information at info@teaism.com we would like to send you a gift card to visit us again. We do know that with supply chain issues we have sometimes been receiving cup lids from different brands and there are slight differences that mean our team has to be extra careful that the lids are put on properly- that is no excuse however for you to receive an improperly attached lid. Our apologies again, and hope you will write to us at info@teaism.com.

Peacock Alley Tea: what do users think?

Angelique Turner: Very traditional, elegant British tea. Great for special occasions but a little pricy. The sweets and biscuits were great. Very tasty. Strawberry and apple butter very good. The sandwiches were tiny and not enough substance. One bite per one. A great selection of teas for everyone to choose from. Nice service. Very good live harpist.

Sabina Buendia: The best high tea in town. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, live music and amazing vibe.

Meredith Bove: Third time visiting for special occasion tea over several years. Just so-so this time. We were there for first seating at 1. Sandwiches were not fresh. Service was not great — waiter did not check back with us after tea was served and we had to ask and then wait forever for the check. 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill for service that was mediocre at best. I accidentally added another large tip onto the bill (not realizing that the 20% was automatic) . . . so in reality I tipped this waiter 40%. All that being said, it’s a beautiful place and the harpist was great.

Maggie Howell: Went with a group of girlfriends, and overall had a nice experience. The tea bites and tea/champagne are the best part, the bites are carefully curated and were delicious and fresh. Only 4 stars because the service wasn’t 5 star quality and a little rude. Overall had a fun time however, and would definitely come back in the future sometime. Thanks!
Response: Thank you for sharing feedback on your recent experience at our Afternoon Tea. While we're pleased to learn you had a nice time and enjoyed the tea bites and teas, we are disappointed to learn of the shortcomings you experienced in regards to the service provided by our staff. Please know we will address this immediately to ensure that the the service delivered remains consistent with the high service standards we expect of our staff. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We hope to welcome you again to Afternoon Tea at The Willard.

Temperance Black: Our afternoon tea at the Willard was magnificent. The food was exceptional the service professional and friendly. It was everything one would expect from an Intercontinental establishment. Thank you for checking an item off my bucket list. Special thank you to Deemak and Chef Luca.T. Black

Courtney James: Pros: Food was delicious. Presentation was lovely. Great ambiance including a harpist. Cons: Service was painfully slow. We had a reservation. Took 30 minutes for a server to come to the table with water. Another 30 minutes for tea to be served. Then another 15 minutes for food to come out. So an hour and 15 minutes total. Totally unacceptable when you're paying $68 + a mandatory $20 gratuity.

Melissa Thierry: My family and I enjoyed the Cherry Blossom Tea at the Willard this past weekend. The service was outstanding. I brought my two children, aged 5 and 6, and the staff spoke to them, welcomed them, and made them feel so very special. I also called before hand and asked for a menu that did not show the price, since I was bringing my mother-in-law and didn't want her to worry about the expense, since this was a gift from my family to her. The staff went above and beyond to provide special menus without the price just for my family-- I was so pleased. Yes, it is a pricy outing, but the experience was well worth the time and expense. My children absolutely loved the harpist, being doted on, and having "fancy desserts and grown up tea". It is a memory with Grandma that will hopefully stay with them-- I know she absolutely loved sharing this event with her grandchildren. We hope to attend again.

Robert Austin: Had tea for two here, with a vegan menu. The food was complex, lovely, and filling. The tea was beautiful. Perfect ambiance, with a harpist playing and all of the guests well dressed.

Jesse Fig: Beautiful & relaxing afternoon tea until a homeless man passes through the alley asking guests for money. Service is simply okay.

Meghan Kahn: We had a truly lovely time, the harpist was wonderful and the fare was thoughtfully done. Special thanks to Janet in marketing at the Willard, we had a birthday and she made sure the details of our experience were extra special. Felt safe for COVID. Reading other reviews those factors mentioned are accurate and also in my opinion part of the elements of choosing a tea that’s not part of normal operations however, you also get the Willard magic that just has a special quality to it.

Spot of Tea - Union Market: what do users think?

Vann R.: The staff who work here really take their time and put their heart and effort into each drink, I can tell. They are very polite, especially the gentleman who wears a graphic beanie in the mornings to early afternoon. Each drink was delicious, we went back twice in our one weekend trip. Definitely take a stop here if you get the chance. Drinks are both aesthetic AND delicious.

Lora Brown: AMAZINGGGGGG! They have such unique flavors and is fun to watch the process done right in front of you. They use natural tea leaves and no artificial syrups which is totally awesome and their drinks are perfect for pictures. Definitely recommend if you like out of the box types of flavors and I definitely will be coming back for more.

Dondré: Located inside an awesome market, spot of tea is an excellent tea spot. Some great refreshing tea options. The customer service is great and the staff of very friendly. Grab some tea and then some pizza from the nearby shop!

Bobbi DeAnda: I am NOT a fan - very strange flavors. I was so excited to have boba place so close to work, but I went once and will not be back. My co-worker (who also loves boba) and I both disliked out drinks. Again strange flavors and inauthentic. It felt like a hipster place appropriating boba. Like, I typically get Taro, which is a super common flavor at authentic boba places and they didn't have that - they only had a couple choices like strawberry matcha and hibiscus mango. I got the hibiscus mango and my friend got the strawberry matcha and both of us were like what is this?! Not a fan. I think they should not advertise as a boba place - just a tea place. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the service was good, but the drinks were NOT good in my opinion.

Mira Michels-Gualtieri: Exquisite bubble tea and fresh teas! As someone whose been to about 10 different bubble tea places throughout the DMV area, I can honestly say that Spot of Tea is some of the best bubble tea in the area and all around delicious. Each cup of tea they make is freshly brewed (many bubble tea places make tea from powder or bags—not fresh leaves), which also means their tea is healthier and less sugary. The staff is super kind and knowledgeable about tea and the location is great. I highly recommend the classic milk tea with oatmilk, tapioca bubbles, and half sweetness. Check them out for some great bubs in DC 😍! (It’s also super easy to pick up from them safely for those who are validly concerned about social distancing)

Zach Adams: Skip the international chains and make the trip to NoMA, this is the only independent DC boba spot (Teaism serves tea with boba, but seemingly only out of a sense of obligation) and the only boba place in town worth detouring for. The tea blends are inspired and flavorful, the tapioca is consistent and sweet, and the mix is gestalt, despite blending ingredients by hand in a small table at a corner in Streets Market. Blue jasmine tea is probably the best pick, but classic, cinnamon oolong, earl grey lavender, and any number of other seasonal options in their stable all seem worthwhile and deserve dairy (or non-dairy) milk and boba. Just don't ask for boba in your kombucha (you, the reader, know better than that).

Jazmin Hackett (Jaz): I poorly rated this restaurant by accident. Thank you so much for your reply. I removed my previous review, and I found the Spot Of Tea I was looking for. Thanks to whomever is responsible for monitoring reviews, as my message was delivered to the right business because of this. Great management. Thank you!
Response: Hi Jazmin, this business has no relation whatsoever with Tony Moore and his "Spot of Tea" brand in Alabama. We're a small (75sqft), local, bubble tea shop, located in Washington, DC, completely separate from anything related to Tony and his Mobile, AL store If you had any issues with a bubble tea order you placed at our DC location, shoot me an email at getintouch@drinkspotoftea.com directly, and I'll help make things right

Keeli Mallory: Friendly tea place inside Streets. Got the strawberry matcha and was so good! Just the right amount of sweetness with their recommended level and with oatmilk. Got to come back to try all the flavors!

Arianna Clarkin: Never done a google review, but this place is amazing and deserves one!! This is owned and operated by a group of young 20 something year olds dedicated to serving you high quality boba teas. The tearistas utilize Taiwanese boba brewing techniques to ensure you're getting the real deal. Lavender Earl Grey, Blue Jasmine (pictured here), Coconut Chai and Matcha are some of my favorite flavors. Decently priced and always delicious David, Dillon, Andrew, and Glenn really know what they're doing. Seriously check them out, they are totally worth the trip to Streets Market in NoMa.

Millicent Wong: This place is SO GOOD. Having grown up in Southern California and Asia, I’ve had plenty of Taiwanese chain stores and second-wave second-gen boba shops, so I can say that Spot of Tea is truly excellent 👌High quality tea, real strawberries... but the proof is in the boba, it was perfect and I didn’t expect to find that down here in DC!

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: what do users think?

Thomas Fackler: Classic hyperlocal coffee space. I believe that everything sold in, as well as all of the equipment used in the coffee bean & tea leaf is hand-made from materials grown on the grounds.

Jason Hubner: Coffee was good, a bit overpriced though. If you're staying in the hotel the coffee bean is located in it is a good option for grabbing coffee when starting your day.

JB Davis: Located inside the Washington DC Hilton, this location is prime real estate! Coffee and tea selections are on par with Starbucks or any other coffee house. It was great to see that they offered and generous selection of spirit and wine. What was disappointing was learning that their policy is spirits have to OPENED before leaving premises. I wanted to taken some tequila home with me but did not purchase after learning of this policy. They also offer a generous selection of snacks, sandwiches and soft drinks.

A Smith: The drinks are amazing. I wish they had other locations. The staff was very friendly as well.

T M (Mistdyna): While I am huge fan of Coffee Bean, this is just a smaller hotel version. That doesn't mean it is bad, just you are missing the full experience. The price is pretty steep but the quality is top-notch. Make sure to give yourself a few moments as it is busy in the mornings.

Crimson Castles: The food was phenomenal, I had the Breakfast Burrito and some home fries. I highly suggest trying the peanut butter chocolate frappuccino. The server was enjoyable and helpful with menu recommendations. My only comment was that our server seemed a little disorganized, and our side orders were plated for one person instead of multiple people. This did not detract from our experience as he was a very good server otherwise. The environment was eclectic and well worth the visit!

Naman Jain: I really wish there were more outlets of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in DC. Honestly, they have amazing coffees and are very under-rated. Their NSA (no-sugar added) options distinguish them from others in the country. Have been here on multiple occasions when I was living in DC, and this coffee chain is one of the things I miss the most about being in the US! Have always had a good experience at this outlet, staff has been amazing, they have nice seating arrangements (and TVs). This is in a hotel so you have a good mix of business-touristy crowd.

Martin KO: The food here will send your wallet running to the hills. $14 USD for a salad with no meat, no dressing? Basically $14 for plain lettuce? The staff here are very fast, efficient and friendly. I had a very nice frappuccino with matcha flavour. A little too sweet, but was nicely blended and I enjoyed the service and walking around looking at the expensive salads. It's a Hilton, that's what's expected I guess. Come here for a nice drink but have lunch elsewhere I recommend!

e a: Overpriced and low quality. I purchased a vanilla latte here and almost spit it out. I thought it would be a "coffee shop" -type latte but it tasted like something you would get at a 7-Eleven. It was pure sugar, couldn't even taste coffee. There had some salads and they were like $11. Also, why don't you have refills for CBTL coffee machines? If i went to a Keurig store I would expect there to be K-Cups there. Staff was friendly.

Foxy Cello: Just had here today one of the best cappuccino I had lately. Strong, double shot of Espresso but you do not taste the bitter side of double shot. I am impressed.

E-Tea: what do users think?

Saniya Han: First time visiting E-Tea at the Wharf, loved it! The cute interior art caught our eye as we were walking around the square so we decided to go in. We ordered their spring special: Cherry Blossom Milk Tea and a Japanese Cheesecake for dessert. The milk tea had a sweet floral scent and was deliciously creamy but light. The staff was so kind and even gave us three cookies on the house! We’ll definitely be back to try more of their drinks and their selection of onigiri :)
Response: THANK YOU *3*

Christopher Lew: We were really excited to try the new bubble tea place that opened up at the Wharf, and in the spirit of the Cherry Blossoms Festival that was going on around us, we ordered the Cherry Blossom Latte half sweet and with less ice and crystal boba. It was ... not good ): It was sooo sweet even at the half sweet level, and sort of tasted like cough syrup! The crystal boba was also just okay. I really wanted to go back and try the Cherry Blossom Milk Tea - which was the other special to see if that was any better, but the drinks are so expensive! It was around $7 for one! I will give it another try with their standard drinks. I reallyyy liked the art and decor though! Love the E-Tea Phone Home mural! Bubble tea places are few and far between in DC, so its always a welcome sight when another one joins the small club!
Response: Hello, dear customer! SO SORRY about we made a bad E-Tea drink experience to you. Also thanks for your common, thank you for letting us see our deficiencies, we want to invite you to come again, we will prepare two drinks just for you! Thank you!

Eva Creswell: This review is for my in-store ordering experience. The menu is neatly laid out and has a plethora of options. They have a special tea for the cherry blossom festival as well. The shop itself is small, but there is seating outside that would be sufficient on a nice day. I'm not sure if there is a bathroom inside, but there is a public restroom just behind the shop. I enjoyed the bubble tea I ordered, and I look forward to going back.

icy wu: This is my first time here. The drinks and desserts taste good, and the rice rolls are delicious. I'm full! I'll come back next time!
Response: *3*

Juki Love: I don't live in D.C., but I'm so excited to find another Boba Tea place. I highly recommend folks to get their Onigiri, Japanese rice ball snacks. It is so good. My new flavor milk tea, the Cherry Blossom with whipped cream. 😍
Response: Thank you so much!

t mac: First going to this place. They just open. Love the back in day decor of the movie ET. I love the fact they ask level of sugar you want in you drink. Definitely will be returning . While supplies last they are doing a buy 2 get one free.

Isabella DeSpirito: EDIT 7/1/22 The owner graciously honored their comment on my review and we got our tea and tuna bowl on the house. I got the tuna bowl with salad, and it was one of the best tuna poke bowls I have seriously ever had. We also got the sea salt coffee and the dragonfruit rose tea with boba, both which were excellent. We had a lovely time and the cashier was a delight and super helpful. We will for sure be back now! —————————————————————— We went on the second or third open day- it was very busy and it seemed they were short-staffed. We got two nigiri, one with pulled pork and one with spam. Tasty but impossible to eat because the wrapping paper stuck to the rice, making them fall apart. The taro and peach tea were okay but the tiramisu was terrible- tasted like a candle.
Response: Hello, our dear customer. SO sorry we gave a bad E-Tea experience. We have upgraded menu 1st of June, and we trained our staff of how to make all drinks again. Please visit us again, we prepared a gift card for you, you can get multiple orders with the card. see you soon. Thanks again!

Zhang Kiwi: Love this place! New opening, huge Jupiter size cup with economic choice. Buy 2 get 1 free now. Already falling in love with it. Asian owners, very friendly and offer multi language support. Will stop by next time.
Response: CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE YOU *3*

Katie Page: I can’t speak to any of the other flavors offered here, but I ordered the Coconut Milk Tea, and there is no tea to be found. It was basically a cup of coconut milk with some pearls at the bottom.
Response: Hello, dear customer, just want to let you know, we upgraded the COCONUT MILK TEA already, so did the whole menu, it will be our pleasure to invite you to come again, let us make any two drinks that you would like to try, your review is very valuable to us, it makes E-Tea become better and better. Thank you *3*

Alex Mosely: The brown sugar bubble tea was AMAZING! The best I’ve had…and I’ve had a lot. The staff was warm and friendly too! 5/5

Teaism Penn Quarter: what do users think?

mike wittenburg: Five stars. Great food plenty of options. My friend was with me, a Teaism fan for many years and she noticed a few things missing from the menu recently. The French toast is awesome, just awesome. Tea selection is obviously great. Outdoor seating is limited, but inside there are two levels of seating. Vegetable kabobs are good. Food is prepared quickly so don't be afraid to wait in line to order. Great vegetarian options. Enjoy

Jon and Amanda Lewis: Stopped in for a quick snack after visiting the National Gallery of Art. Ordered a traditional bubble tea and a Salty Oat cookie (like an oatmeal raisin). Both were excellent. The rest of the menu looked fun. There are some sandwiches and bento boxes. Want to come back!

Christine R: Vegan ginger scones, beet burger, salmon binto box, and berry tea....drooling. This is a wonderful place to eat, relax, and get out of the cold- right by the Archives metro stop. The lady that works the cash register knows the menu inside and out. She's worked there for years and is super kind. The first floor is wheel chair accessible, including the bathroom. The basement is not.

Karina Kisselite: There was a lot of sitting - the place has two floors. Their menu is kind of fun - an Asian fusion. The taste was just ok though. Not bad, but not smth to come back for. We had noodles with veggies and chicken okonomiyaki. Chocolate salted oatmeal cookie for dessert - that one was good. The place has a great selection of tees. A bit on a dirtier side when it gets busy. You order upstairs and have to wait for them to call your order.

Trev: I was walking to my car when I stumbled across this Tea shop. Atmosphere was great soon as I walked in. I tried The lavender lemon mint and the Korean beef brisket sandwich . It was amazing no complaints from me! I love the vibes in the shop for sure I really recommend giving this a try ! 5/5 from me for my 1st time 👍🏼

Proficient Potato: Not your traditional bubble tea offering, but they have so many other flavors I haven’t tried before! They also have warm food options, and have a binder with all of the Allergens for each dish and if contains meat right by the order counter! The food I got was great, warm, filling, and well spiced. First place I’ve had a paper boba straw!

Elias Chelala: A huge selection of teas complimented with an Asian fusion menu. I ordered the Okonomiyaki and my friend ordered the Korean Brisket sandwich. I also ordered the sweet matcha tea and added boba. My friend ordered regular black tea with boba. The tea was very refreshing on a hot DC day and we both left satisfied.
Response: Thank you, Elias!

Rick Schwartz: The Bento boxes were OK, but looked much better in the pictures online. The $4 Boba was the best thing we had here. I wouldn't come back for the Bento boxes.

Zachary Tyler: Amazing blend of tasty, reasonably priced food with high quality and traditional varieties of tea. The silver needle white tea was amazing.
Response: Thank you Zachary! We love the silver needle too. Hope to see you again 😊

Yessenia C: The food is so delicious! Their chicken bento box is a must have, it comes with cold sweet potatoes and cold broccoli!. The onion sauce is dynamite! Their Korean brisket sandwich is really good. The sweet Japanese green tea (matcha) is refreshing. The teas are really good as well. 2 doors down they have a tea shop. UPDATE as of 5/18/22 They have brought back the panko fried chicken! I was told the menu will be changing soon.
Response: Hey Yessenia - I'm so glad you enjoyed your lunch at Teaism - and your visit to the shop. The shop has so many lovely things - if you are starting your holiday shopping!

Sidamo Coffee & Tea: what do users think?

Kodi Wieland: Wow! The best cup of coffee my husband and I have ever had, hands down - not an exaggeration. Way to ruin all other coffee for us. There was only one person working and the service was great, friendly and efficient. I wish we lived closer, this would be our daily coffee.

Leandra de Labastida: The best Iced Chai Latte and Bacon/Egg Bagel, I've ever had. The staff is friendly and the location has fantastic WIFI. I was able to get a lot of work done. The place does get busy because it is amazing.

Black Star Dust: Wonderful place. The chai is the best in DC and Baltimore areas. It’s the best I’ve ever had by far. Rich natural flavors.

McLain Saba: My go-to coffee shop in DC 😊 The people are wonderful, the ambiance cozy, and the drinks are DELICIOUS! Their iced chai tea latte is my favorite, tried their hot chocolate for the first time and love it. Quality drinks, quality wifi, quality space. All around wonderful

Noah Ifergan: Beautiful Ethiopian coffee shop with authentic ambience and delicious coffee. Workspace and wifi too. Highly recommend!

sefanit tekle: This place is amazing! Their coffee was amazing and so is their breakfast sandwiches! It's hard to find good places for breakfast on H street so I was happy to grab something quick. Highly recommend 10/10 :)

Rachel B: Really wonderful coffee shop, and I absolutely love the Ethiopian influence. It’s something so unique to a coffee shop. Nice to have a place highlighting Ethiopian coffees! I got a very delicious everything bagel here as well (see picture below 😜). The shop itself has cozy, quiet vibes (at least when I was there), and great service! The other cool thing is they serve some Ethiopian food - also see the picture below! Didn’t get to try that since it was breakfast time, but would love to try it someday. Look forward to returning. #sidamo #coffee #tea #Ethiopian #cozy #everythingbagel

Shantrice King: I went to Sidamo around noon today with the plan of doing a couple hours of work on my laptop. I have been to the coffee and tea shop a couple of times before but always on a weekday. After I ordered, I sat down at one of the many empty tables and pulled out my laptop. I barely had time to open my web browser before the owner came over to me and said he would allow me to stay for 1 hr and then I had to leave. He went on to say that on the weekends he does not allow people to do work there because " you spend $5 and then are here all day. If 8 of you come and use each of the tables then I make what $50, can I pay my light bill with $50?" Both his math and customer service skills are off. I told him ok and went to the counter to retrieve the pastry I ordered. He followed me over to say that I needed to wrap up what I was doing and if I wanted, I could go to the backyard area and work from one of the tables there. He emphasized that I had already used up 15 minutes of the 1 hr he had allotted me so I needed to move quickly. I collected my pastry, packed up and left. To stay would have been interpreted as consent for how I was spoken to and treated. I understand running a small business is hard but if there are constant issues such as people working on their laptops during the weekend and taking up space, then he could implement simple solutions such as signage on the tables and other visible areas that let customers know that you can't do work there on the weekends and there are time limits for the tables. He lacks effective communication skills which I believe is critical to running a business. I am also disappointed by this experience because I was hoping to introduce family and friends to it when they visit the area. 0/10, would not recommend.

Erin DiGiuseppe: Went here for breakfast after staying at an air bnb nearby. They have several vegan options, including a vegan breakfast (hummus, tomato, lettuce, avocado on a bagel) that was DELICIOUS, and some vegan cookies as well. We also got the Ethiopian coffee service which was really special and comes with burning incense that really adds to the olfactory experience. I’m sad we’ll be leaving today but I’m so glad we came. The wait was a bit long, but worth it.

Lauren S: My sister and I didn't get to try the coffee. Heard good things about this place and decided to stop by after a workout. Before we visited Sidamo, we went to Whole Foods to buy soup and other items. Then we entered Sidamo and placed our Whole Food bags and backpack at a table so we could order our coffee at the counter. But before we could order our drinks from the barista, a man sitting at one of the tables, possibly the owner or manager, said something to us that we didn't fully understand. He either said no Starbucks or no service, not really sure. Maybe he was confused and thought the Whole Foods soup container was a Starbucks cup. The vibe/atmosphere of this coffee shop was incredibly unfriendly, the man was belittling, and both my sister and I felt very uncomfortable. I'm sure the coffee is great here however we were unable to order because the man was very unwelcoming. Do not recommend this place.

Teaism Lafayette Park: what do users think?

Vy H.: My new favorite lunch spot!! Don’t be fooled by the name of the restaurant—it’s not just teas here—there’s a good variety of food options to eat! I’ve been here three times this past month just to try a variety of their dishes and so far have not been let down. Highly recommend the “bento boxes” for lunch—it’s a huge portion with your meat option and three sides. My favorites are the Korean Beef Brisket and Panko Fried Chicken Bento Boxes! If you’re not feeling the bento box style, you can order these as “side dishes” which is a huge portion too. The Thai Chicken Curry is also delicious—tons of chicken meat and well flavored. It’s a cafe style—you order at the register, wait for your food and then bring it to your table. Food comes out fairly quick!

Hilda Kroll: I looked at the menu on line and thought about the Turkey and Brie sandwich I was going to get the whole hour and a half it took to get to Farragut West. It wasn't on the current menu and, through a lack of communication, I thought I was getting a Turkey and Bacon sandwich and ended up with a Scrambled Egg sandwich with turkey bacon. It just wasn't my day. I really enjoyed the Lavender Lemon Mint Tea, though.
Response: Hilda, we’re so sorry to hear this happened. That sandwich has not been on our menu for at least 10 years, now, this must have been information on a very outdated 3rd party website. Please don’t trust everything you see on the internet! In the meantime we’d be happy to send you a gift card for a meal or some tea - email us please at info@teaism.com.

Lisa Klages: What's not to love with a high quality tea selection and complimentary asian bites! Their loose tea is well priced and some of my favorite. I've been to 2 locations and both are great. I also watched the staff handle an extremely and unnecessarily rude customer with respect and patience. She was badgering the staff repeatedly, including cursing at them, and complaining that their system of calling order numbers was disrupting her experience...totally absurd. No other customers were bothered at all by this, and it was in line with other restaurant systems. She also berated them constantly for volume in the restaurant and left no tip when she paid, plus threatened repeatedly to stop dining there. She was terribly disrespectful, but they handled it very well and made sure my experience (immediately behind this terrible customer) was still positive. Will be back a lot, and purchased 2 of their tea blends- berry and chai.

Alicia Parsons: We had a really great experience at Teaism. The food was delicious, there was a lot of it, and the customer service was awesome. I personally recommend the Thai Chicken Curry. The sauce was exquisite, and the chicken was juicy. I also recommend the cabbage butts. The sauce used for this dish provides the perfect taste. And of course the tea, Kuding Tiasne, and ginger limeade very good.
Response: Thank you Alicia for the kind words and stars! We really appreciate it.

Rachel Ramoni: Love the ambiance, the quick and healthy food, and the nice people. The veggie curry just did not have enough flavor, and much of it was made up of a vegetable that was quite tough. Either it was undercooked or should be cut into much smaller pieces. But it was very pretty, and I will return here!

Jennifer Leon: The bubble tea was by far the best we have had since leaving Taiwan (where bubble tea was first made) but their menu options were a bit pricey. We got the udon noodles with vegetables and the ginger broth was strange. The soup was beautiful to look at but there was a rancid flavor to it like when garlic is over cooked. Also the basil just does not go well with the udon noodles. The atmosphere was lovely and we will definitely go back for the bubble tea.
Response: Sorry the udon disappointed but I’m so happy to hear you were pleased with the bubble tea - our reviews have been all over the place and we-be worked so hard to improve the consistency of this item. The pearls have to be cooked every day.

Mark Wiatrowski: Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. Best breakfast and tea in DC. Views of The White House. Paris on the Potomac! Japanese inspired dishes for breakfast or lunch. Go!
Response: Thank you Mark for these kind words! We are so grateful - please come back again soon!

Christian Mai: Great breakfast place. Super nice service and ambience inside and outside. The outside seating is great. I can highly recommend the scrambled eggs with jalapeños and salmon on the side.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to review - so glad you enjoyed breakfast - we love helping people get the day off to a good start.

A Verma: Great place to enjoy an Asian inspired meal and yummy deserts. We enjoyed a quiet spot by the window looking out at the fountain. Highly recommend it.

Sara R.: Another great experience at Teaism. I usually visit the Dupont circle location, but deviated from the norm and tried this location instead. The oatmeal had a great consistentcy neither too runny nor too thick) Only downside was that it took surprisingly long for a simple order of oatmeal to be prepared.
