Lauryn Williams: horrible experience for first time customer. Varry and Angela both completely ghosted me and never followed up after they both missed multiple scheduled appointments to file my taxes (over the phone and in person). so disappointed with the quality of service, especially with the tax deadline approaching. now it looks like i have to get another preparer last minute. i was going to be a first time customer with HR Block, but will NEVER work with HR block again. i should have been wary of the negative yelp reviews.

Godmy Rock: My experience is exactly like the other recent reviewers. This office has gone down hill since most of their experienced tax pros have retired. Varry S completely MIA despite multiple assurances, Lasset works in another office where Varry's caseload was transferred but is incompetent and made glaring errors, Angela never returned call despite promising multiple times. Then being matched with a random agent in another state without my consent. They try to hide that Varry has been out sick. They try to charge you ridiculous fees $300-700 for tax prep that is full of errors. Their manager MG is worse leaves office in scrambles for the receptionist to deal with and completely unresponsive. What is worst is they lie and try to hide their errors and incompetence on the "system being down" or it is not me it is some one else, someone being out sick or easter holiday as if this is your fault and the tax deadline is something that just sprung up on them. Be prepared to know more about tax deductions than them, scramble last minute to the deadline, 1 hour holds multiple back and forth's and zero respect to you or your time! Will NEVER GO BACK TO THIS MESS AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and RUN!!! Stay away from this Block!

Heather Sutton: HRB was very attentive. I had to switch from our longtime previous tax advisor and uploaded my documents very late in the tax season. But the advisor that took me on was quick to pick up my case, spent lots of time talking to me and had my return ready very quickly. Treatment was superb.

Oh, and this the second year that we did my taxes virtually which felt no different than being in his office.

Their management style is poor their client experience that they gave to us was pitiful. We will actively share our poor experience across social media in hopes of saving another small business this turmoil.

Rachel Marshall: I arrived more than 15 minutes early for my 4pm appointment, and the office was closed (locked, lights off etc.). I called, no answer. I called the corporate help thinking I messed up the date or time, but she could see in her computer my confirmed appointment. 2 days later and I still have not received a call, an explanation or an apology for wasting my time. Obviously they don't want my business, and I am happy to take it to someone who will respect my time.

Lam H.: Would give 0 stars if that were possible! I had my taxes done and discovered when I got home looking over my paperwork that the H&R Block agent had made a mistake. I called immediately and could not get an appointment until a week later. Another agent looked over my taxes, agreed that there was a mistake and filed an Amendment. It has been to date 22 weeks since the Amendment was filed and I still don't have my refund. I had to pay $204.00 for my initial appointment and even though the mistake was theirs I could not get my money back!

Brian Byrd: After 7 years of doing my own taxes I decided to try out H&R Block. The gentlemen that worked with me was very friendly and helpful but unfortunately I was told the cost was nearly $500. This is 3x what I usually pay and what the multimillionaire friends I know pay. Shame on this company for charging this insane amount of money on a basic tax return that took less then 45 minutes to prepare. It appears they charge by the number of forms and therefore no doubt this places a lot of financial burden on individuals that receive financial assistance and therefore more tax forms to file . I don’t mind paying taxes but it is unfortunate this this company like other tax preparation corporations continue to lobby any sensible tax reform that would allow the average American to navigate taxes independently and not through some third party who’s only interested is their bottom line. I recommend that in this bogus system if you must do so work with a local independent tax preparer.

George C: I've worked with Wendroff for about 3 years now and they consistently disappoint. I pay them between $1k to $2k for my taxes and my principle complaints: 1. They switched accountants on me this past year and didn't notify me 2. There wasn't a formal handoff when they did switch accountants so some questions were never answered and new accountant wasn't given all the proper notes 3. I've never felt like a priority. They make you feel like they're doing you a favor if you talk to them on the phone. 4. I gave them all my tax documents weeks in advanced and told them I don't want them to wait until the last minute to complete my taxes. Sure enough, literally the day or two before they are asking me follow up questions and we submit the last possible day. 5. *** This year they made a pretty big error and did my taxes wrong - basically mis-calculated my income. Not by a little, by like tens of thousands of dollars. Worst part is....I caught it. Now waiting for them to fix it.

JamWorks 24 7: Look no further for your tax/financial needs! Delisa is a wealth of knowledge, patient and detail oriented. ọlọrọ interiors: Having your taxes prepared is something we all have to do. When you own a small business, you want to have someone knowledgeable who you can trust from beginning to end. While Delisa is a qualified tax professional, my experience was less than ideal. Several errors were made that resulted in a lot of time on both our parts trying to resolve. No one wants to receive an IRS notification because their tax preparer made mistakes. These mistakes have taken months to correct and to date, I’m unclear if they’ve been resolved. Additionally, lateness was a challenge. If you’re promised a form or document on one date, add another week or two until it will be received. I know my experience may be an anomaly but it’s important to know what you may be getting into especially if you’ve never worked with her before.

The IRS had contacted me several times, including a home visit, and ordered me to file all four years within a 30 day period. I was working full time and my records were a mess. I had kept all of my records, with no filing or organization, in shopping bags. Deborah E. Miller: I never would have come across "make my day cpa" had it not been for visiting another vendor in the same building. I had been doing my own taxes with Turbotax for the last several years but as my situation became more complex, I no longer felt confident to do so. I found "make my day CPA" to be very professional, easy to work with and very efficient. I initially met with Carolina, reviewed my tax situation, and asked for a cost quote - which turned out to be very reasonable. I then sent my paperwork over their on-line secured portal; spoke with the accountant a few times; and, he made suggestions that decreased my tax liability. Ten days later, I stopped by to sign the papers which allowed them to file my federal and state taxes electronically. Great experience. Will definitely use them again!

Samuel Mather: The best I can say about this place is they filed my taxes on time. They did not file my taxes *correctly*, and state refunds they didn’t claim have been trickling in as the filings are processed and corrected; they didn’t keep track of basic things, called at odd hours with repeat questions, and talked over me. If you just need to submit *something* for taxes, I guess they’re adequate. But considering the price, manners, and skill level, I can’t imagine trying this place again

Trayonna Queen: Larry Strauss was rude and unprofessional and I would like someone from corporate to contact me about this matter. The fact that I heard his entire conversation bad mouthing my husband over the phone with Ms. Gracie is ridiculous. And the excuse o got was “that’s how he is” NO you are supposed to provide exceptional or even good customer service when working. Trying to keep composure I simply left the establishment and took my taxes elsewhere and they not only were understanding but didn’t try to make my husband seem like a “fool” for making an honest mistake.
