Emily Shaw: I love this place--such a friendly neighborhood vibe. I get all my plants here, and this one guy who works there (sorry don't remember the name) is my plant guru. They will repot your plants for a small fee if you bring them in, which is so helpful when you live in an apartment. Also--their plants are so reasonably priced!! I bought a gorgeous 7-foot fiddle leaf fig on a whim because the price was literally a quarter of what you'd pay at [unnamed nearby plant shop]. Thank you for everything you do!!

Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.

Baba Harsh: This place is great, I understand it's a mom and pop shop but man the prices are super high. The people are somewhat helpful but got a lot of short answers. Ended up at Home Depot.

Sassy Sauce: I missed all of the after Christmas saw items. This location had a few products left over from Christmas but nothing I really wanted. Overall the store was neat and organized. I didn’t need any additional items for this trip, just preparing for next years holiday decorations.

They offer a verity of products that can help you with your Lawn, Garden, Appliances, Painting, Outdoor Patio, Home Improvement, Cleaning Products, Tools/Equipment Rentals and many many more. I really Appreciate the help from a young male staff who was working in the Garden/Mulch area, he was very Helpful and Knowledgeable with assisting me with the products along with a young female cashier on the inside of the store. Now you can never get the help you need when you’re in the store aisles. Every time you asked a staff member who’s in the same aisle as you. Can you help me with something? Their reply seems to be, I don’t work over here and they don’t know who can help you..!!! Home Depot needs better training for their staff who’s working in the store aisles..

Jeff Rueckgauer: Needed a red 10 cup Brita pitcher. App says there is 1 in stock. Not on the shelf. 4 associates said they couldn't help but would page someone for the aisle. 10 minutes is more than enough time for someone to at least arrive, even if they have to look further. This HD had been really good for many years. The pandemic is no excuse for just unhelpful people and plainly unconcerned, inept management.

Rickey Anderson: I went to the Rhode Island Avenue store it was good. What would made it excellent if their stock was current with the website. They didn't have it even though the computer said they did have it. The item was Sphagnum moss. Happy that I was able to find a few other items

Bailey Cage: Unfortunately this was the first time I’ve been to a Home Depot where the staff was completely unknowledgeable. I had spent hours online trying to research the best products / methods for tiling my second-story concrete subfloor with no definitive answers, so I decided to head to the store and find someone to help me. Normally Home Depot workers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but whoever they sent back to flooring to help me seemed to know nothing. He was able to show me where items were on the aisle, but he couldn’t answer a single question about how to tile my floor or what the differences and pros/cons in products were. It was incredibly frustrating and unhelpful, and I ended up leaving with a couple hundred dollars of products I later had to return. What truly upset me is that I did some more research once I got home just to find out the answer I was looking for is common knowledge in construction, but as someone doing a DIY project, I just didn’t know what terms I had to search for. For a Home Depot employee - the flooring specialist - to not know this is astounding.

jamesbowdenjr: This is the worst Home Depot is in the entire country. I am trying to get a door, but the store is unresponsive, the management is inept and provides no additional assistance, the associates are extremely slow, unknowledgeable of the products. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this store. Please go to another Home Depot location.

Anna Lloyd: Desmond in the home and garden went out of his way to help us find something that 4 different employees had just shrugged their shoulders and said that even though it was available online they were probably out. Desmond knew exactly where it was and showed us himself, even though it was on the complete other side of the store. He really took customer service to the next level.

DAVID GILL: paint dept vert slow. When paint was done I was not told it was done. I came up to the counter and stood there waiting while emotes helped others. After 10 minutes he pointed at can. I said is that mine he looked at me like Duh.

Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.

Stuart Miles-McLean: I don't like all the self check out lines which are killing jobs. They did have things I was looking for in the wild bird and critter section, but it appears they need more employees -- all over the store -- to keep the inventory organized and properly shelved and labeled. The employees I did encounter were very helpful and friendly; it just looked like they need more of them.

Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.

Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!

goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.

Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.

N R: Terrible customer service. Returning an item took 3 months of repeated calls to schedule a pickup and even when Lowe's had the item back multiple calls were needed to secure the refund. Such a hassle, so worth avoiding! The third party delivery service that they use doesn't turn up in the agreed time slots so it's very easy to miss them and then get stuck in the web of calls that are required to reschedule.

Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

Conchita Coney: Excellent but one of the employees didn't know what he was talking about whereas getting parts for a 2019 torro self-repellent lawn mower. He told my husband and I to go to store name Grainger on MD 202 they are either closed or permanently shut down.

Elizabeth Ramming: Assistance was top notch!! The gentlemen working there were very polite and helped me a lot with specific questions. HOWEVER-- However, I needed lumber, a 1X6 piece. What they had in stock was WET. But oh! I found 2 dry pieces at the bottom. But alas, don't be happy for me. Those pieces were warped in both directions - both along the length and width. That's it. So, shut up and buy it, or fight DC traffic to go someplace else. Both of those options were the absolute WORST. Why was the wood wet amd warped?? ... Duhhh. How utterly stupid.

William Rodriguez: This is my SPOT! I used to run around all over town trying to find different odds and ends offered at specific stores. Then I stumbled on True Value on 17th which seems to have everything I could ever need and quickly became my one stop shop. Feels like I'm in this store just about every weekend. I was treated like family (with great customer service) on day one and that continues to be the same experience with every visit since. Have actually come to enjoy seeing the same people on every visit and catching up. The staff is not only friendly and conversational, but also very knowledgeable. These folks have advised me on mounting curtains, replacing a bathroom sink, removing graffiti, patching a hole in the wall, painting, plant care and countless other household projects/hobbies. I could go on and on raving but I'll stop there. You'll have to stop in and experience it for yourself!

Paul Durbin: Great staff. I’ve gone to this hardware store at least 100 times. They make eye contact and ask what I need help with, without fail. They all seem to jump in to cover any duty. If a register is occupied, one of the staff will quickly ask to take me at another one. I’ve never had to search for help and I’ve never had to wait in line.

Rujwan: This place is great! It's nice to have a hardware store nearby, but this store offers so much more! The have a nursery, which doesn't surprise me, kitchen ware, cleaning supplies, and so much more. On top of that, they're all really friendly.

Could I save a little bit of cash by driving out to the deep burbs for the Home Despot or similar? Sure, but would I? Absolutely not. Icing on this cake: they always accept my Ace coupons, even if past their expiration date. Now that is ace in my book.

Since we're in basement level, it can be challenging to step off the floor during certain times of the day when staffing is limited. 20TH Century Archivist: Disbelieve all positive reviews for the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. The staff there is rude, unhelpful, incompetent and pay absolutely no attention to customer safety. This explains why today was my last shopping trip to the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. I was walking through one of the aisles in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park and was looking at items on a shelf when I suddenly was tripped and fell to the floor: the staff left several thick and heavy sealed cardboard boxes scattered right on the floor. A store employee came to see what had happened and when she saw me rising from the floor she then promptly lost all interest. The employee "apologized" in an insincere manner and was offended when I criticized her and the store for leaving boxes scattered on the floor for customers to trip on, claiming that she was not the employee responsible. Although I haven't encountered scattered boxes previously in the in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park, the staff there does place too much merchandise in the aisles: they are totally incompetent and rude and cannot properly run the store. Placing heavy sealed cardboard boxes on the store floor for customers to trip on is absolutely the dumbest thing store employees can do: Washington, DC store employees can be among the worst, but I have never encountered such flagrant incompetence in a store in this city before today. The Yelp reviewers posting here leaving all of those five-star reviews probably have never shopped often in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park or spent much time in the store when shopping there. All of the Washington, DC area ACE Hardware stores are poorly staffed and managed, but the Glover Park location is the very worst and has been getting worse since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic: they are unable to deal with more customer demand. For your own safety and sanity, please avoid the ACE Hardware in Glover Park! You will find Lowe’s or the Home Depot to be a safer, saner, and more courteous environment!

Roger Torres: This is a great hardware store. Ace has a little bit of everything and in some cases more than specialty store. For instance the plumbing section has more fittings than HD Lowes or Furgerson. Ace is well stock and the sales associate are super friendly. My one dislike and this is why I gave it 4 ⭐️s not the 5 ⭐️s. The prices are in most cases twice as Home Depot and Lowes. Some times triple the price. I’m in the home remodeling/handyman business and it’s time consuming to run to get one piece of 2x4x8 so I end up paying three times the price. I know it’s a convenience but they are the only once that get away with doubling the price. Anyway Indo like the if I know that they carry the item it will be in stock. This particular location has underground parking and it’s free for the first hour.

Davron Nigmatov: Very helpful staff. Good variety of tools for your home. I bought adjustable wrench and pliers. The wrench didn't fit and I returned without any problem. You'll find good quality tools for reasonable price.

John Newman: I like this Ace Hardware. I was looking for a water additive for my humidifier and they had it in stock. It is a small store. Rather tight quarters, but a large selection. Attitudes at the register can be good or not so good. Depends on who is on the schedule that day.

Stephen Schwartz: Small ace hardware store tucked away in the parking garage, but good for a quick in and out for specific items. Not going to have the largest selection, but that's probably not why you are headed here anyway! Edit: updating my review here as per the response below. They expanded the store a LOT - it's maybe 33% to 50% larger now which has a lot more stock.

BLU CHRUSH MEGA TRUCK: Staff is super , I called ahead to make sure what I needed was in stock, and when I walked in the door some 11 minutes later I was greeted as if he knew me ! In and out although I did park on the curb and ride the stairs down due to my work truck not fitting in the parking garage, PS, the stamp your ticket so ya don't pay for parking here!

He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. Jessica C: I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. Roshelle Veney: Love this place! When I walk in they ask my what I'm looking for and surprisingly the cashier always seem to know off hand exactly what isle it's in. The floor staff don't just show you where things are, but they often ask what you're working on to point you in the right direction. I'm a bit of a creative nut, so I always have something that takes a bit of explaining and they don't seem to mind.

Laurie Brandt: Discovered that every strand of LED icicle lights I purchased last year were only half-lit this year. I called to cancel an order I'd just placed for another 10 boxes. I love these lights and I've had dozens throughout the years from Celebrations without a problem. I wasn't upset; I just figured something changed at the company and didn't want to toss $20/box away on the same problem. The LAST thing I expected was to be cheerfully passed onto the manager (Marty) who chose to look up the 2020 purchase and issue a refund! What? Wait! For real?! I kid you not ~ and I am still stunned. It's been so long since I experienced retail generosity towards a customer that I forgot what it felt like. Thanks Twins Ace of Fairfax. Do the community a great favor and give Marty and your staff every reason to stay with you. I hope others will read this and order online for delivery or pickup - or find their way to the store to meet these unicorns. That's what I intend to do from now on!

Bob Lerch: I walked into the store and, as always, was quickly greeted, then referred to Marty who was the manager on duty to assist me. He rekeyed a new Weiser lockset I brought in so that it would match my existing house locks that are all "old school" 5-pin mechanisms. He quickly determined that it could be done, then repinned the cylinder to match my original old house key. I was ready to check out in ten minutes! Truly impressive even if it was basic lock cylinder stuff to Marty. Lowe's & Home Depot couldn't/wouldn't help. This was absolutely worth the ten miles driven and ten bucks spent. Once again, Twins ACE is my hero!! 😃👍👍👍

I asked an associate to help me find the product, and he told me that they don't have any in stock (that was 8 minutes after I made my phone call). Nice people, but quite incompetent.

Randy Moulton: I'm a life long civil libertarian and refuse to wear a mask. I was told to leave if I wouldn't wear a mask and couldn't buy if I didn't comply. Rather than escalate, the manager offered to shop for me if I waited outside. He got what I wanted and brought the receipt and purchases outside and said he would meet me outside if I needed to return anything. A+ for service

Adam Stryker: I hesitate to recommend this store because then folks will know where I get all the unique things in my home. Also, my family and friends will know where I got some of their unique gifts. I don't want to give it all away. Stop in and see what I'm talking about. Their buyers are geniuses. It's like going back in time to the New York City of the past where private stores reigned. I love unique gifts you could only find in NYC before they turned it into a suburban shopping mall. TWINS ACE HARDWARE IS MORE THAN A HARDWARE STORE. IT'S EVERYTHING. ( I'm already regretting that I told you. Don't buy up all my favorites!)

Scott Eltringham: One of three great hardware stores in Arlington--Cherrydale and Bill's True Value are the other two--Twins is more modern feeling than the other two. It has the widest selection of goods of the three stores and a lot of fun, not-really-hardware stuff. They also cut keys well. The staff is always friendly and fairly knowledgeable. Parking can be difficult.

The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Al Boyd: Customer service, was excellent. But I didn't appreciate being mistaken for a thief. I had the receipt was in my bag. I am a retired police officer, I don't need too steal anything from anyone.

Nathan Deunk: Very convenient location, and they've really improved the store since they moved locations. Unfortunately, Fragers employees and contractors consistently endanger the residents of the surrounding community by illegally parking on both 11th SE and Pennsylvania SE. I can't support a store that cares so little for their neighbors, especially when those neighbors are their customers.

Sunny Barnthouse: Friendly staff is always eager to help. The price can be higher, but there's rewards app. I noticed people complaining about the price and space, but just think that you always pay more for the convenience and/or customer service. They're doing their best with limited space given. I'm thankful they exist, so we can quickly get something that we either just didn't think about or ran out in the middle of a project.

Lisa Tatem: The customer service here is A1, if I could give more than 5 stars, definitely would. I needed 2 mirrors cut, everybody else that cuts glass said, I had given up and even bought a glass cutter to do it myself,ha! These guys were super helpful, made my day so great working with them!

Lillian in the paint department was very helpful in assisting me with my paint colors. She made sure I bought the CORRECT base paint to mix with the colors I picked out for my home. Lawrence (gentleman in the pictures) assisted me EVERY time (and I mean EVERY TIME) I purchased items that needed to be put in my vehicle. And EVERY TIME he serviced with a smile (just look at the pictures). Lawrence is so attentive, respectful and helpful. He made sure the items I purchased were put safely in my vehicle to be transported! THANK YOU LAWRENCE!! And thank you Home Depot Alexandria for hiring such great employees who know the meaning of customer service!

Brian Copes: This is my main Home Depot I go to the Northern Virginia area. It usually has any home improvement or household item that I need for my place. My only issue is sometimes the staff is busy handling other customers questions to answer my personal question. Definitely one of top stores in the area in my opinion. I’ve heard of this happening to others. This is a racket! Stay away from appliance purchases at Home Depot!!

Amre Kebaish: Tread carefully when asking an idle associate about in item that is supposedly in stock according to the website/app, but isn’t available in the stated location. They will angrily glare at you for daring to interrupt their phone scrolling. If you persist, they will eventually sigh and put the phone down. However, they will say whatever it takes to get you out of the store without being helpful.

Russ Colbourne: How do you have half the isles closed on a Saturday morning???? All I needed was a adjustable wrench and they refused to allow me to get it. Totally would understand if there was heavy equipment or something like that in motion. I asked when the isle would be open again and the employee just shrugged her shoulders. I absolutely hate this location but unfortunately it the most convenient. I will be going out of my way to lowes from this point on.

Katherine Matsuo: Came in about 45 minutes before closing looking to buy a power drill. They were all locked up and spent about 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. They then made the announcement that the store was closing and to bring your items up to the register. Again, no one to help me get the drill I needed. There were about 4 other people in the aisle with me. Decided to just buy one off Amazon as I left the store.

Nathan Winborne: I had a very disappointing experience at this Home Depo location today. I went there to return something and decided to walk around the gardening section afterwards. I walked in and saw a beautiful 6' tall money tree that had no price tag, so I stood in line at the cashier and asked him for a price check. The barcode that was on the planter was not reading when he scanned it so he then sent me to customer service where 2 employees tried to look on the computer at homedepo.com for the price but still couldn't find it. The girl that was helping me at customer service had to go find someone else who also didn't know how to find the price and suggested I talk to a manager. I was about to walk out but decide to find one more person to help so I walked a random cashier that informed me that the managers were all on a meeting on Mondays bit pointed out another employee who she said was more knowledgeable. I went to over to the 5th employee at this point and explained that I was interested in purchasing something in the garden center, but it had no price or barcode. So, we walked back over to the garden center where she confirmed that there was no price or barcode and went and found someone else that worked in the garden center (the 7th employee now). The lady that she found came over and looked at the barcode sticker, peeled it off and was able to type in the sku# where the price finally came up and finally, I was able to purchase the tree. I think that it is highly inexcusable and embarrassing that I had to go through several employees to buy this tree when in reality the first cashier that I spoke to (as a matter of fact every employee that I spoke to) should if been able to solve the problem in a fraction of the time that it took. The manager at this location really needs to train his employees on basic function such as typing in the sku# when the barcode doesn't scan.

Be aware: If you're looking for assistance or need something custom - plan ahead and allow extra time. Walk-in and ask would take 30+ minutes to get a correct associate. If something is marked as available for store pickup - call & re-check since it could be in a storage and needs extra time to get General notes: 1. You can try bargain for clearance items- sometimes works in this store 2. Cull lumber rack is pretty big (but not on the store map, have to ask) 3. Get Home Depot application & subscribe for SMS alerts for items - worth the initial time investment. 4. Cellar reception in the middle row, especially in the appliances & electric section is bad - if you're trying to look items while in the store - try to get on the side of isle's.

Vivian Lee: Nona at garden items aisle helped me find what I was looking for. It was not just telling me the location of it, but she went over to the location and even brought the tall ladder to climb up to retrieve the item. Ms. Tiffany: If you need lumber that requires an associate to obtain, plan to wait for at least an hour!! I've been waiting in the lumber section for over 45 mins for the associate to return after he's passed me a few times claiming to return shortly. I've called customer service while I'm here waiting and paged for assistance twice, but still NO HELP!! So long for a quick Home Depot run. Horrible experience!

Ken Templin: Although I've had mixed experiences visiting this store in the past, my most recent visit picking up a fridge was excellent. I was helped immediately, and someone went and got my fridge from the back, helped me load it on my vehicle and I was off. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and efficient.

Bobbie Lazar: This store is well staffed except for the service desk where there's always a long line and no place to sit down... this is important to me because I'm handicapped and standing for a long time and it's very difficult for me. Once I got to the head of the line picking up my order was no problem at all. Another weird thing is how they have the parking lanes blocked off for no reason that I could see and it makes finding a parking place difficult when there's another whole section that you can't get to from the main entrance.

Rachel Gallagher: This rating is for the garden center workers. The subcontractor "plant and shrub" workers are absolutely useless. If you ask them a question they act like they have no clue and thry do understand English. They walk around feeding their faces with food or hide from customers or sit down outside and ignore the customers. They need to be fired!

Dank Sharky: The Hispanic who work at the garden section was very friendly and professional, she helped me to pick a beautiful 4ft tall pine. I will definitely recommend it.

And the catch is, the service company never shows up so now I have a really heavy paper weight. Stick with Lowes!

Jason Martin: Just awful. Everything. The customer service the products I ordered were short and when I got there to pick up they were damaged. Instead of taking me at the register the Lacey and another guy stood there talking about work and told me to hood on a minute. You guys are just awful. Layla Abney: This is probably the best HD I have been to in Prince George’s County and I have been to several during my basement remodel. When we entered the store I was greeted, as I was walking around EVERYONE said hi or do you need help? Once I got to the drywall aisle I needed help because the studs were not in the right place. This young man, I think his name was Josh or Jason, who was actually on his way to clock out helped us. He explained that was not his area and then tracked down someone who could help. He did not leave us until we had the correct studs. He then walked us and the studs to the register and found a cashier with no line to check us out. If for NOTHING else I would return to the Lanham store, passing four HD’s along the way, just because of the great customer service.

Julio Garcia: On the slowest day at the pro desk, the lady at it is more concerned with her co workers and her phone to even pay attention to what an item is and asks if I can go take a picture of the sku? Some gentlemen walking around which we can assume is loss prevention since hes walking around having a conversation with the said cashier. The isles look completely disorganized. Took 20mins to get help to load my materials. Completely unacceptable as I'm a superintendent for a company.

One male employee couldn’t stop texting to focus on the questions I had. He had zero knowledge of the products I was asking him about and when he was done, he went to sit back down to continue his text conversation. The first employee when told I needed help in the bathroom fans sections stated, “That’s not my department you have to ask her” He pointed to another employee that was clearly assisting with a refrigerator and offered no other assistance. This place does not understand what customer service is.

zachary burdette: Bills is no longer what it used to be. The quality of service has gone down dramatically! When you walk in the staff are just sitting around looking on their phones. The store is Very dirty, so it's not like there is nothing to do. If you want exceptional service go to Ayers. I used to work there and the owners prioritize quality customer service.

David Baynham: Visited store and asked for the kerosene lamp [section] then I recalled that the part I needed is called a mantle. When I asked where I could find a mantle, the man helping me told me in an abrasive manner that I should ask for what I wanted and something to the effect that they were not stupid. After collecting the other items I needed (and being helped by a very agreeable person) as I checked out, I ask the abrasive person/cashier whether he had been joking or whether he was as rude as that to all customers. He basically said something along the lines that he had the job because he was a pit bull. When I asked for the manager he said he was the manager. After I congratulated him on losing a 40 year customer, he called to the staff around him started clapping and mockingly told them we are losing a 40 year customer. I try to patronize local businesses but from now on hardware will be Cherrydale or McLean Hardware.

Brady Tello: I used to enjoy going to Bill’s but sadly after my last experience I won’t be back. They’ve hired a couple folks who I suspect don’t care a whole lot for the brand or their jobs because I’ve never been disrespected by a business the way I was today. I went to check out and noticed there was a guy standing next to the checkout counter so I got in line behind him. Turns out he wasn’t in line he was an employee eating his McDonalds on the counter. Fine whatever I made a mistake, no big deal right? So I go over to the other side of the counter to get in the actual line and this guy starts being crazy disrespectful to me in front of all his buddies (also Bill’s employees) who we’re having a great laugh over the whole thing. Never again. I’ll take my cash to the pros at Cherrydales or strosniders. peace

Justin Von Hofe: I politely asked if I could receive $50 worth of change for a $100 purchase in twenty dollar bills ( so two - $20s and one -$10), the response was an accusal. "You people always come in here and ask for big bills early in the morning." I then asked for a refund on my purchase and was further accused of having an attitude. A small hardware store justifies charging higher prices for excellent customer service and knowledge. With the current staff looking and acting like Beavis and Butthead, that value is not there with Bills Hardware. I'd recommend Ayers Hardware on Washington, excellent selection and customer service.

Chris Higginbotham: This is my preferred hardware store. Walk in, ask a question, get a legitimate answer. It's the way a hardware store is supposed to work. Make sure to grab one of the Dot's chocolate bars at checkout.

Artemio Diaz: I came to store today around noon. I came in looking for a hardware I needed and had the need to use the restroom. I went up to the cashier and asked if there was a restroom and the response I got was in a moody attitude, "no we don't have a bathroom". The attitude surprised me, but I ignored it. Instead of confronting him, I asked if they had the piece of hardware I needed. And again with the attitude, "no we don't have that." I had my doubts about his response so I walked to the back and saw another employee and asked the same question. The same cashier walked up to me, got in my face and yelled "I TOLD YOU WE DONT HAVE IT" right in front of the other worker. "IM THE MANAGER I KNOW MORE THAN HIM, HE WORKS FOR ME" he said. He then commanded the worker somewhere else in the same tone, humiliating him. I was very surprised how a manager, can be so disrespectful and doesn't consider his customers or employees. I felt greatly disrespected and got quite aggravated with how he was treating me and the employee, so I confronted him as he continued to yell "YES IM THE MANAGER WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT" and followed me as I left the store.

Julie Evans: If you have a Weber grill, which I highly recommend, you need to know Rob the Grill Guy at Bill's. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient and maintaining your grill will save a lot of money through the years. All the staff at Bill's that I've interacted with are this way - it's so important to have these kinds of stores locally so ditch Amazon and Home Depot as much as you can! Thanks Rob!

E Hay (ehay2k): A great neighborhood hardware store. Good selection of items, especially grills (including Big Green Eggs and accessories.) They even offer services like pipe cutting and threading for a very reasonable fee.

Mike Ezzy: Great store, but the watched the ignant black guy behind the counter berate the hell out this hispanic dude for trying to comprehend the answer he was given as to the downstairs location of a product. His words were "downstairs, do I need to hold your hand and walk you down there??" Followed by "its called Rosetta stone" and several expletives. My advise, ignore the dude with anger problems and seek help from anybody else in the store. The Hispanic guy was clearly embarrassed as this occurred in front of two other employees and me the customer.

zuutalore: We are absolutely thankful to have a hardware store locally in Crofton. I visited the store. It is very clean and fresh smelling. This is in the old chinese buffet space next to the gym and dollar store. The employees are very nice and ask you more than once if you need help for anything. I am not sure why all employees were not wearing name tags. A good hardware store has employees that remember a customers name as well as patrons knowing an employees name. They have an excellent selection of grills that you will be in awe of as this is what you see in your first steps in the door. You will see the same normal things you find in any hardware store as well some things were not expected. The cleaning products aisle is well stocked, having just about everything. There is a small section for audio and TV equipment. If you need a small appliance as a coffee maker, they have it . We took notice of the cast iron pans available. When walking the right side of the store there is an aisle that leads the length of the store and at the end is the plumbing products. They even have a section of black steel iron pipe. On the other side of the store you will see a bathroom if needed. Walking towards the front of the store you will notice that there are signs above the end caps to make you aware of what is located in those aisles. So don't worry , you will not have to zig zag around like we did if you actually need something. Power tools and a very nice paint department greet you along the way out and of course the cash register. Some aisles are incredibly tight making it tough to walk by someone. If claustrophobia or mindful covid distance space from another person is a problem for you, just wait until the person leaves the aisle and you can make it by. We are very pleased and thankful that the owners have invested in Crofton to open the second store of theirs in our neighborhood. We have had a hardware desert for too long. -To the store owner THANK YOU!!

Josh Dreis: This would be a better option, but with no military discount for veterans, Ace will never be able to compete with Lowes and HomeDepot. The prices were more expensive than Lowes and HomeDepot. Better customer service is not worth the 25-150% markup over L/HD
