Washington Brain & Spine Institute: what do users think?

Barb Z: I would give a zero if that were possible. Dr Jay Rhee not only lacks "bedside manner", he is completely devoid of manners, professionalism, or a willingness to communicate with his patients, who he treats with something bordering on contempt. He responds to questions with the defiant arrogance of someone who is protecting a sub standard skill set. Completely unacceptable.

GW Spine & Pain Center, Dr. May L. Chin, MD: what do users think?

Ann Walker Marchant: Dr. Chin changed my life when I was suffering from severe and debilitating back pain. I had been prescribed every pain medicine available and the only thing that was doing was making me sick -- extremely nauseated and unable to work. I was recommended to Dr. Chin and she immediately identified the correct combination of treatment that treated my exact pain in a targeted manner. The opioids were making me ill. She identified the treatment that allowed me to sleep for the first time in 8 weeks through the night in my bed. Dr. Chin is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I would highly recommend her.

Maurice Dix: She is very cold, you are truly better off not going at all. You will not leave her feeling cared for or about.

Richard Hayman: I met Dr. Levine in 2000. He has operated on me twice and twice on my wife. I found Dr. Levine to be very friendly and caring with great skills. Dr. Levine teamed up with Dr. Rhee to perform a 9 level spinal fusion. My life is very normal now. I replaced golfing with walking. Many friends have taken my recommendations for NCN and have been very happy with both their care and results.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words... We try to treat our patients like members our family.

Angela Luvara: If I could give Dr. Rhee zero stars, I would. I drive four hours round trip to be told that my pain, which presents exactly as nerve pain does, is not caused by my bulging disc that is pushing on my nerves. I have never in my life had a doctor told me that don’t know what’s causing my pain without also offering me next steps to figure out what is causing it. He told me to “keep doing what I’m doing” (after having told him how everything I’ve tried has not helped the pain at all) and after I pressed him further, told me to lose weight (after I told him I cannot do any form of exercise without pain). So, definitely don’t expect a doctor who will work to actually make you feel better, and definitely don’t go to him if you’re fat. I’m not sure why or how he practices medicine, but he’s surely not motivated by a desire to make people feel better.

C. Davis: Wondering if this is the practice for you? It is. I was incredibly impressed by everyone from the reception team to the providers. Dr. Levine was thorough, honest, and caring. He addressed all of my concerns and came up with a plan that really suits me and my situation. I feel hopeful for the first time since I was injured. Thank you so much - your excellence was noted.
Response: Thank you for having confidence in us.

Cindy Brown: During my consult visit I felt the doctor had viewed my images and had a good grasp of what I was dealing with. I had planned on a 2nd consult but have decided not to do that and go with the plans discussed with Dr. Levine.
Response: Thank you and we look forward to taking care of you.

Jelly Bean: Not such a great experience and heard doesn’t treat his employees right…

Inova Neurosurgery: what do users think?

Shila Chow: I would rate this place a zero to reflect on the rudeness, negligence (the Hispanic receptionist was extremely rude and hung up the phone mid conversation twice as I was trying to make an appointment). Waiting for almost an hr and receptionist had me on hold and ended up dropping the call again, so frustrating in trying to even make an appointment, I guess I’ll be going somewhere else to see a provided, inova you just lost $, keep doing that, you’ll lose patients from your clinic, please get better receptionists who are trained well. Couldn’t really speak on the doctors/skills since I didn’t even get to see the provider-what a shame

Richad Weidner: Very thoughout and clearly understand the diagnosis. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend.

Kia Sims: Awful!! Rude!! Do not care about new patients. Cristie Brewer was extremely unconcerned about my care to the point she recommended I “go back to ER for care”.

Amanda Grimm: I wanted to chime in and say that it seems Inova Neurosurgery has taken steps to improve the interactions with their scheduling desk. Cassandra has been absolutely wonderful to deal with, every time I have called and made/moved appointments.

Danah Balmaceda: My gosh, I am trying to schedule an appointment. Its basically just the automatic phone and you are on HOLDDD foreverrrrrrr!!!

Paul Hadley: Great place for brain and spine care

Howard University Hospital | Neurology: what do users think?

Triple H: I wasted my precious time going to this place honestly, am not sure what was the point of me staying there after i noticed that the doctor was just too focused on asking about what other doctors opinions were and so on and so forth with no proper explanation for what would be the cause of my pain(i even have explained in details of what procedures were done and what and which type of pain i am experiencing), after 4 hours of being there (2 hours prior to my appointment) i was sent home with no proper advice or treatment for my excruciating headache and facial pain that i suffer from after multiple sinus procedures. Truly a waste of time.

Latimer Neurology Center: what do users think?

Stephanie & Barry McHugh: We have been with this practice for over eight years. It has been a long journey. Dr. Latimer was willing to fight for the best treatment for my boys with a disease that was not being recognized. I have two happy and mostly healthy boys and without Dr. Latimer I am not sure my oldest would still be alive. We will be forever grateful and we love everyone in her office. The things I have watched them have to handle and the sacrifices I have seen them make are well beyond what is typical. Keep your records in order and be an advocate just like anywhere else. No, insurance does not cover much and it has been worth every penny!
Response: Thank you for your appreciative review!

Seth Ingall: We first sought consultation with Dr. Latimer 15 years ago when our 10 year old daughter suddenly started behaving quite differently. Dr. Latimer quickly diagnosed the condition, and initiated treatment which eliminated the symptoms. A couple of years later, Dr. Latimer helped us through a relapse. Now 14 years later, and with my daughter as a 24 year old high functioning adult in NYC and with another rapid onset relapse of auto immune encephalitis, Dr. Latimer was the only physician to provide an accurate diagnosis, treatment plan, and support to help us navigate the problems. She is an amazing lady, and her staff really helped us through some very tough times. Minda, Tristan, Andrea, Brenda and Dr. Latimer are all very compassionate care givers, focused on helping patients.

Marcia E Gravatt: This place is insane! It is also reserved for rich people only!!! We first went to Dr. Latimer when my 18 year old was in 1st grade. She was ok then, but I had to stop taking my daughter to the appointments because she ALWAYS ran ridiculously late and had the smallest waiting room of any doctor. I just became so angry with how poorly her practice was run that I could not talk much to her when we finally got back to see her. In a moment of extreme poor judgment, I called her practice recently about my younger daughter. This is when I realized Dr. Latimer was not someone who I wanted to give my business to. The charge for a patient’s first session is $1200, which her office takes out of your account 3 weeks BEFORE you see her. That’s her version of “self pay!” How ridiculous is that? You have to pay her BEFORE you even receive her services. That amounts to a short term loan. Screw this practice!

Kevin Thomas: My experience with Dr. Latimer has been nothing short of exceptional. I suffered severe head trauma and as a consequence I lost complete feeling in the left side of my skull and have experienced migraines, of which, I’ve never had before. Her staff is always welcoming and will put a smile on your face, no matter how upset or down you may be feeling. I will continue to see Dr. Latimer as long as needed. She and her staff are not only brilliant, but they will give you the hard answers that some doctors will not. They do not “beat around the bush”. I would reccomend Dr. Latimer to anyone seeking a neurologist.

Kris M.: PLEASE make sure you do your research on this place, it’s absolutely awful. The office staff is a mess, they are afraid of the doctor and ask you to lie. The doctor is ALWAYS LATE and has ZERO AND I MEAN ZERO bedside manner. They charge you $1200 before you realize any of this. The nurse is clueless. We had no reason (we later learned) to put my daughter on meds yet this “amazing” doctor put her on two meds without any blood tests. My daughter suffered. We suffered. THE DOCTOR COULD HAVE CARED LESS. In fact she mocked me on one of my emergency phone calls to her. I have never felt so dismissed, my daughter needed help and she did nothing. Didn’t return calls. Didn’t return texts. Never heard from her or anyone in the office again. We had a follow up appointment scheduled and the office manager asked me to lie on the day of the appointment so “no one would get in trouble”. FOLKS YOU HAVE OTHER CHOICES. I absolutely cannot recommend this office or this doctor. She was 2 hours late for our appointment and we were the FIRST appointment of the day. Barely an apology. The nurse made snarky comments about the patients she was treating to the office staff, I overheard them and she looked at me and smirked. This place is so unprofessional, so disorganized. The doctor doesn’t even give you her full attention at your appointment but you can bet your bottom dollar she takes your money without blinking an eye. I can only pray her laziness and lack of testing didn’t damage my daughter in the long run. Go see Dr T in Ramsey NJ, that’s our new doctor and they have seen countless patients who originally started here and had to have the damage undone. This place is honestly TERRIFYING. Run the other way, and run fast.
Response: Sorry to hear of your reported experience. We are unable to locate you as a patient. Please give us a call to discuss further how we can help you.

Atlantic Brain & Spine: what do users think?

Deeb Oweis: I have been suffering from lower back pain for 3 years, it became unbearable the last six months. I was referred to Dr Jae Lim. I had great experience with the team from everybody at the office from Melanie , to Peter who helped process my orders and appointments to Nurse Practitioner Megan Martin to Dr. Lim. The entire time is professional , caring and gave the time to make sure I received the answers to all my questions. I had the surgery and exactly like explained to me during my visit. Dr Lim performed fusion of two of my vertebrates and I was discharged the next day. I was able to walk without the lower back pain after suffering from that pain for more than 4 difficult years. Dr Lim has done a great job during surgery and the team has done a great job following the surgery. All along I was treated with respect, privacy, comfort, excellent care and felt welcome . I highly recommend Dr Lim to my family and friends as needed without any hesitation. I have two family members who suffer lower back pain and they both will be scheduling appointments with Dr Lim very soon. Deeb Oweis

Ieesha Carroll: You are always in Great Hands with Dr. Lim and NP Meaghan!! The whole team is very knowledgeable and courteous. They changed the quality of life for my Granny with the Spinal Fusion and aftercare. I am forever grateful. I definitely recommend Atlantic Brain & Spine to my friends and family who are looking for a Superb Surgical team and experience.

shawn duquette: Dr. Lim and his team have given me great care! They are very responsive to my requests!

BLUERIDGE SLOTS: Dr. Lim saved me from being disabled after a serious wreck and spent the night operating on me when many others said no way. His staff is the greatest and I always felt treated the best a person could be. This is a world class operation and you will feel assured you are in great hands when being seen by this group. Thanks for helping me!!

Johns Hopkins Neurosurgery: what do users think?

Ann Marie: The doctor wouldn’t see me just because my last MRI Scan was a little over a year ago instead of a little under a year. I understand their purposes but I still took the time to take off work and be there just to be told that the doctor won’t even see me... I’m never coming back here again because I don’t want to be turned away over something small like this. Everyone’s time is valuable I believe he at least could have taken the time to see me... he gets paid for it anyways

Zachary T. Levine, MD: what do users think?

S Schwartzbach: Dr. Levine is excellent but the front desk personal are terrible. Have called 4 days in a row to request an appointment and am transferred three times to a generic voicemail and once to an individual. Never received a return call in response to any of these messages. Prior to requesting this appointment, I was told I could not be given an appointment until I obtained an MRI to be ordered by general practitioner. MRI report in hand I was now attempting to get the appointment I originally requested. Guess I also need to ask my general practitioner for another referral for a neurosurgeon.

K S: Dr. Levine performed a VP shunt surgery on me recently. He explained everything in detail, answers my million questions about everything in a prompt manner and has helped me get my life back! I owe him so much. Thank you!!!!

Shalini Sethi: Dr Levine did DBS surgery on my father in July 2019 and my dad had major complications the same day and night of surgery and Dr Levine hardly attended to see that my dad was losing his memory and also ended up in the ICU for seizures. Dr Levine was called at 3 am that night of surgery when the nurse called him to tell him that my dad is losing his memory and something is not right. He told the nurse that he is fine and will see him the next morning. The next morning my dad ended up having seizures and admitted to the ICU and that’s when dr Levine realized something was not right and then decided to put him on oxygen and meds and even then he came by for like 5 minutes. His PAs attend to everything which should be him in this situation especially. Dr Levine has no time to talk his patients in the hospital during his rounds so he sends his PA named Sheila to do his checks and follow ups and he himself spends like 5 minutes and that’s his check. His partner who is an Asian guy cane by to see my dad and said this is all normal. I mean he also doesn’t know what he is talking about at all. Nothing was normal about my dad losing his memory and not being able to walk. This is like a rare statistic that happened to my father. Dr a Levine for formality says he cares just to look good to your face but really doesn’t care from what I have seen and observed about him. He didn’t care about my father and today my dad can’t walk and is wheelchair bound and mind you my dad walked into that surgery and came out with memory loss and unable to walk for the rest of his life and major tremors which Dr Levine kept saying will go away and didn’t. Dr Levine has no answers and brushed us off and washed his hands clean of the case. Told us to get a second option and let us know if we need his help. He kept saying your dad will get better, I promise etc. None of it was true. Just words out of his mouth and never personally follows up. To him we are just another patient another case another $$$$. What happens after that he doesn’t care. I ask - what if a surgeon ruined Dr Levine life and he could not walk anymore - how would he feel?

Laura Olson: saw Dr. Levine for a 2nd opinion as he has operated on 5 family members. Did not find him personable or caring at all. He did not agree with my ortho who suggested a spinal fusion. Said he would consult with my him who he knows well to ask him why he thought I needed the surgery. At my suggestion, he sent me for a 2nd MRI and a nerve test. He never called my ortho or me for my results. My 2nd MRI showed I now needed 2 fusions which my original ortho will do and who i love. David Levin was right from the get go not to mention his caring warm personality makes a difficult situation much more bearable.

Madeline Roy: In 2008 I consulted Dr Levine having spinal stenosis. Dr. Levine operated on me for Spinal Stenosis with Lumbar fusion on my back. Dr. Levine gave me my life back. He is an amazing doctor. When I went for my Post Op X-rays the technician asked who did my surgery because it was TEXT BOOK work...Perfect!!! She showed me the screw in my back and they were perfectly done. She said most of the back surgeries that she sees shows screws in all different directions, etc. She said no wonder people have pain even after surgery because of the terrible job other doctors perform. Dr. Levine work is PERFECT!!!!! I recommend him 100%. I would go back to him in a heart beat. I would never go to anyone else.. If it can be fixed he will do an amazing job. If he refuses to do your surgery its for a good reason, I would take his advise any day. He is brilliant...no question!!

Manny Karos: Dr Levine successfully removed a tumor from my cervical spine in December 2016. The 5 hour procedure involved over 60 percent of my cervical spine(neck). Today he reviewed the MRI of my neck and indicated I was cured. While I am still taking some occupational therapy, I can walk well now and able to do my yardwork and other repair tasks around the house. Thank you Dr. Levine for your excellent neurosurgical expertise..

Ellen Didion: It was like a miracle!!! One year ago today, Dr.Levine performed laparoscopic surgery on my lower back, removing 2 large fragments that were pressing on my sciatic nerve, along with a discectomy. The excruciating pain was GONE later that day!!! I was normally a very active person and over the 3 month’s prior to my surgery, I had progressed terribly, unable to stand or walk for more than 5 minutes at a time. I experienced numbness and terrible pain, had been visiting my chiropractor, getting acupuncture, consulting pain management specialists, while continuing to get worse. I am SO GLAD that I went to Dr. Levine!!! I am now back to my extremely active self, and feel GREAT!!! I can not recommend him highly enough!!! THANK YOU Dr. Levine

Dr. Faheem A. Sandhu, MD: what do users think?

Cyndi Glass: Dr. Sandhu literally destroyed my husbands quality of life. He performed a 2 day surgery know he had neuropathy and the surgery would be highly unlikely to help him. Instead, after a 3 level fusion lumbar surgery he is considerably worse than before the surgery. He does the 7 hour surgery in a two day process because of his own fatigue. Unreal! So my husband has to be put under anesthesia twice. Think twice or three times before using Dr. Sandhu. In addition, his office staff was very poor.

Anthony Thomas: Dr. Faheem Sandhu is one of the best human beings I ever met in my life! He is very patient and listens to his patients very carefully to help resolve your issues! You can trust him to the fullest with your life!! Also his staff is extremely professional and polite! I plan to have surgery from Dr Faheem, and I will not be worried about a thing! May God Bless whoever needed this reassurance!!

sam ash: Best most knowledgeable surgeon I have ever come across, and most humble as well!

Jad Elmasri: Words can not explain the impact this Dr. has had on my life. I was treated with respect, I was in constant communication with the staff, and I was informed of what each step would entail, towards my procedure. The staff was very helpful, and I was kept updated each step, even throughout the data/result collection phase. Dr. Sandhu performed the procedure, and I was discharged 2 hours later. Overall, this experience was a positive one, and one that I recommend for anyone with the similar case that I had. I have exhausted all my options when dealing with back pain, and I wish I had seen Dr. Sandhu initially.

Neicy Love: My rating is regarding the Front desk not the doctor. Dr. Sandhu is a great doctor, he is worth 5 stars BUT the people at the Front desk are so unprofessional!! Dr. Sandhu should definitely get a new staff for the Front desk because they are the first point of contact. There was a female that rolled her eyes and had a demeanor as if we the patient in the office was bothering her by asking her questions. So rude!!!

Karen Williams: Best neurologists. Highly recommend. Very attentive, caring and honest.

Beth Edwards: Great place

Dr. Jae Y. Lim, MD: what do users think?

Covering Windows: Thank you Thank you Thank you Dr Lim, I am in disbelief , you literally gave me a new life , ( No More Pain), 4 1/2 hour surgery, some three weeks ago. today I walked to my mailbox and back not one moment of any pain. Dr. Lim asso. and staff are like the icing on the cake , all professional caring and prompt. How could one show enough gratitude to such amazing professional??????? I also found that he was able to remove a sizeable tumor from my spine and place the vertebrate back in place with no usage of any metal. I am so happy,

Robbie Zebhideh: I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Lim and his staff. I came across many doctors and practices in the area, none compare to Dr. Lim and his staff. Not only do they have your best interest at heart, they set expectations accordingly. After dealing with insurmountable amounts of pain, rendering me virtually unable to walk for 6-7 months, I owe my quality of life and my ability to move forward to Dr. Lim, Dr. Martin, and their entire staff. This practice is 100 times better than any other practice in the area, and I feel grateful to have them in my corner.

Heather Hassell: I had a herniated disc at c5-c6 which was compressing my spinal column. A bone spur on the vertebrae cut into the dura causing a spinal fluid leak. It all happened January 26th 2018. I went the entire time from January to September, which was the first time I saw Dr Lim, basically living on drugs. Meghan and Dr Lim were very thourough in their exam and went over everything with me so it was clear. I have never felt better in my life! Their after care is phenomenal and again very thourough. I wouldn’t let anyone touch my neck except Meghan and Dr. Lim. Highly highly recommend them!
Response: Heather, thank you so much for your kind review and I'm so happy to hear that you're recovering well from your surgery. I speak for my whole team when I say that we were truly honored to have the opportunity to work with you. Please do not hesitate to reach out if should ever need anything.
