Jim Richardson: I highly recommend the Sparkle team. I had a 12 yr old sofa/chaise that I had purchased from Design Within (not so much) Reach. It was an expensive sofa and a selling point was that I could order new covers...until they stopped selling it. I thought I would have to chuck it, but the frame and cushions were in perfect shape. I met the team at Sparkle, very knowledgeable about fabrics and durability (we have a dog) and I I now have a "new" sofa with better fabric and seams than the original. Pick up and delivery easy and very reasonable prices and delivery times. I will be back.

Stephen Williams: We have had a number of items reupholstered here over several years. If you want quality materials and workmanship, and you're not too price sensitive, this is a good place to go. Strongly recommended.

Gregg Burgess: These guys are great! They knew exactly what I needed to re-stuff my leather sectional. I have an expensive two-piece sectional that I bought from a well-known, high-end place that will remain nameless, and I have been very unhappy with how the cushions quickly went flat. I just happened to find Sparkle online, so I called them, and they seemed to know exactly what I needed - even told me that they had worked on several other sofas from the same "high-end" store that I got mine from. I took the cushions in and got them back in less than four days' time - not only fast, but at a very reasonable price. And, the sofa looks and feels better now than they did when I bought it!

Stephen Sides: We have come to really appreciate the owners of Simply Upholstery, but especially their professional approach and fine craftsmanship. We have used them for various projects, each one done perfectly, in a timely manner, and for a fair price. Attached photo is the latest, a mid-century modern sofa that needed an update for its classic lines! Other projects included dining chairs, other sofas and sectionals, and a family "heirloom" piece from Denmark. We will continue to use/recommend them and enjoy watching their business grow and prosper!

Suzy Foster: We have a bench seat in our kitchen with some very specific measurements. I was afraid to replace them because I didn't think anyone could make them fit right. I took the measurements and photos to Hakan at Simply Upholstery and he did a fantastic job of replacing the cushions and fabric for me. The quality is absolutely top notch! The cushions fit perfectly! They helped me choose a fabric that would work well in the kitchen and clean up easily with spills. I am 1000% happy with my choice of using Simply Upholstery and I will recommend them to everyone!

Dan Jordan: We asked Hakan to make a new slip cover for our large sectional sofa (which contains two angled pieces). We provided him the fabric and he did the work using the existing slip cover pieces as templates. He did a master job on the new slip cover. It fits perfectly and contains all of the details of the original cover. And he did so for the originally quoted price which was a highly competitive price. Definitely will return and recommend Hakan to others.

Anh Pham: My 3rd time coming here. I'm never going anywhere else to get my upholstery fixed. They did my window bay cushions, set of 8 dining chairs repair and reupholstery and now some throw pillows to decorate my sofa with. These were small jobs but Hakan never turned them down.

They did an excellent job on an antique chair that I had had worked on twice before with poor results. This chair has great sentimental value for me so I was especially grateful for their expertise on this piece. I recommend them without reservation.

Arlene Shaulis: I had 6 dining room chair seats (at least 60 years old) and one 40-year-old wing back chair reupholstered. They did an absolutely beautiful professional job; far exceeding my expectations. The dining room chair seats and wing back chair look brand new. You would never suspect they had been reupholstered. My only complaint is the new seat cushion on the wing back chair prevents my feet from touching the floor {LOL}. The furniture was picked up on May 25 and the job was completed on June 7, 2021. I have to say I wasn’t expecting the job to be completed in less than 6 weeks or more. I highly recommend Best Upholstery. They live up to their name.

Sondra Levitt: Best Upholstery in Alexandria is the best furniture restorer in the DC/Northern Virginia area! They turned my 35 year old club chairs - family heirloom pieces - into gorgeous, more contemporary additions to our home. There's a reason BU has been in business 47 years! Quality craftsmanship, great fabrics, wonderful staff and they pick up and deliver! Interestingly, you wouldn't know it from its unassuming location and no frills shop. I dug around & found a simply beautiful fabric and their artisan furniture repairers exceeded expectations. The chairs are comfy, cozy yet elegant and they were done in 3 1/2 weeks, just before the holidays! They even created arm covers for both chairs (see before and after photos). Sandra Weisman: We recently had Best Upholstery recover a sofa/chaise lounge. We chose this company after reading the Yelp reviews, which were incredibly positive. The service and work quality we received was outstanding. They had an incredible selection of fabrics that we could choose from and order. The fabric came within a day and they immediately called us to pick up the sofa. They indicated it would take around 10 days to complete. Within 5 days the sofa was done and the quality was exceptional. They literally rebuilt the sofa to new. I will definitely do business with this small business again and hope anyone reading this review will give them your work. Their price is not inexpensive but reasonable and so worth it.

Nancy Greer: These folks have reupholstered furniture for me over the last 30 years. They are professional, reliable and nice people. I highly recommend their work, it's all over my house, bedrooms, living room & den! I truly appreciated the owner's response to my, "Should I get rid of my parents' old sofa?" query: (paraphrasing) It may be old, but it is solidly, well made!! So he reupholsters it and it will stay in our family, for sure. ONE time (and only one time!), I used Abbott Upholsterers & that proved to be a big mistake: they chose a braid trim for my family's antique Duncan Phyfe-style sofa that was NOT a color that goes with any living room I've ever had; a simple phone call to me b4 deciding, or asking me at the time of ordering, would have solved this issue. Ugh! Plus, their rates are more than Korean-owned Best Upholstery. If you want someone to wait on you with advice about which fabric to choose, then Best Upholstery does not fit your needs; they have hundreds of books and you may check out up to 5 of them for a week or so, to take home & match up with what you need matching. But you need to make the selections, pawing thru the books. I just took my time and went thru the books at my own speed, b4 checking out my faves to take home. (It's not a problem for me, because I've had a bit of interior design training, to pick out fabrics.) Just understand that you are kinda on your own, when it comes to selecting the fabric you need. They're nice folks and do wonderful work!

Lab101: Did great work for both upholstery and draperies around our whole house. They have a ton of fabrics to choose from...the hardest part is making a final decision on which ones to choose. They obviously know the ins and outs of reupholstery by the looks of their work and craftsmanship. Will use their services again. Thank you!

Jennifer Corbin: They fixed my rookie mistake! had purchased replacement foam and padding online for my couch cushions. I have no skill set for this kind of thing, so I had made several mistakes. Instead of quoting me all new foam and padding, she said I just needed a little more padding...and was able to get it done same day! Thankfully, the team at Best Upholstery knew what they were doing and gave new life to my couch! Highly recommend for small and large jobs!

The baptismal font created by a grieving father upon the loss of his son in world war II was in pretty bad shape. It apparently had been broken and very poorly re-glued, not to mention the laminate that had fallen off. We had no idea where we could go to get it re-glued, refurbished, and revitalized between then and the October festivities. I sent pictures to Mr Haridi, who estimated a very fair price. He told us he could have it refurbished by mid-September. He commenced with disassembling the font to the tiniest pieces, cleaning off all the old glue, varnish and embedded dust before reassembling and re-staining. It looks magnificent, and he was finished two weeks early!! I would greatly recommend this establishment for any furniture repair/refurbishing needs. I would also recommend having a look at the many pieces that I would hardly have given a second glance that were restored to great value shown in his YouTube videos. Truly amazing! I turned around and brought in my father's teak bedside table (which he had fallen on many times in his unstable later years) in pieces in a box. It is now completely restored and looks like nothing ever happened!

Dale Fink: These days when too many heirloom cabinets are being sold for a few dollars and end up painted lime green and used to hold items of bad taste, I was worried that I would be able find a responsible craftsman to restore a china cabinet that has been in my family since the 1870's. Mr. Haridi is expensive, but you get what you pay for. The piece looks like it did when it was new, but Mr. Haridi used better glue for the legs, so I am hoping it will still be with us for another century or two.

Karen Novak: We had antique tables, hope chest, and a child's booster chair restored by Yasser Haridi at Antiques & Furniture Restoration, Inc. in Sterling and we could not be happier with the result! Each piece was restored to heirloom quality and will now be focal point pieces in our home. S Lampton: Yasser Haridi is an artist and a treasure to find. We presented him with a cat-scratched-missing pieces-scarred-somewhat abused huge mahogany dining table. We debated about donating (even trashing) it but after thinking about all the family meals shared on it and it’s travel with us in 3 moves over nearly 45 years…we had to make an effort to bring it back to life. Yasser embraced the challenge and shared every step of his fine craftsmanship with pictures, emails, and a visit where we decided on the finishing color together. The first picture we received was our table pulled apart like a Leggo set! Yasser re-glued every single piece and finished each section inside and out. It is so rare to find someone who has such a passion for their work. Once delivered to our dining room we asked him to sign his name to it which he did. David King: Yasser did an outstanding job repairing, refinishing, and reupholstering a 100+ year old chair that had taken quite a beating over the past century. He replaced missing parts, strengthened key areas to ensure better support, and completed a masterful upholstery job, matching all the seams and lining up the design on all the cushions. He provided updates and photos of his progress throughout the project. We were so pleased with his work, we also had him repair and refinish a wooden hippo we got 20 years ago in East Africa. He again demonstrated great attention to detail and gave us back a hippo that looked much nicer than it ever did new.

Joanne Thornton: Yasser Haridi and his upholsterer, Humberto, did a beautiful job repairing, refinishing, and reupholstering a classical carved mahogany rocking chair for us. Mr. Haridi and his sons were very responsive to our questions and communications, and told us upfront that this project would take at least six to eight weeks. The end result was stunning and well worth the wait. The finish glows warmly with different hues depending on the light, and Humberto's attention to detail with the fabric pattern and piping is remarkable. They have rejuvenated a precious family heirloom, and we are very grateful.

Trish H: I will be a customer for life! I ordered a bedroom set and from start to finish it was a smooth process. The price was very reasonable and the furniture I wanted was in stock. The prices are clearly listed in the showroom - no gimmicks like Ashley where it’s marked up and then on fake sale. Gil was a true professional, it was clear he knew the business inside and out. He even came in on his day off to process my order.

Ellen Singer: I do not recommend buying anything from Belfort Furniture. I had a very negative experience with them and will make sure to communicate this through all of my social media platforms. I purchased a very expensive pair of matching wood credenzas from them and dealt with both sales folks and customer service folks over the course of a year and a half, and the final result is that I have 2 mismatched pieces of furniture (see photo of the 2 credenzas side by side with different finishes). Not only did the salesperson misrepresent the product, but the customer service folks wasted my time and theirs, and never addressed the issue that I purchased 2 matching pieces and yet they don't match. Belfort's customer service department provides lip service only. Once this company has your money, and they make sure to take a lot of it up front, they don't really do anything to make sure that the customer is satisfied with the purchase. I am amazed that they have stayed in business so long with such poor customer relations. Update 2/6/2022. As a result of this bad review, someone from Belfort contacted me and Offered a 25% refund on the furniture or a return for a full refund. I therefore revise this review because I finally got the company to make good. Belfort has a nice selection of good quality furniture. If you have a problem with a purchase , they will eventually make good - you have to be persistent.

Laura S: Buyer Beware!! Go somewhere else. I bought bedroom furniture from the show room. After about 3 months only the bed, dresser, and chest were available. As soon as the delivery man came to my house, he asked me to look at it. What came was a bright white bed and the dresser and chest were correct, with distressed white bottom and gray top. The bed hardware is silver and the dresser bronze. So it is very obvious these don’t match. When I called about the bed replacement I was told I owed extra $240. I called the manager, John. He told me the fine print on the Receipt says Belfort is not responsible for anything!! I was told they could split the cost and I’d pay $116. This is all Belfort’s fault. The store should not charge extra. This was their mistake. I went to the store and pointed out the matching set I wanted! I I have never been treated with such poor customer service and I had my whole house furnished with them. I am done. There are many other furniture stores. Avoid Belfort!!

Chad Craner: If only Belfort knew how to provide good customer care, and fix some simply broken processes. We ordered a leather love seat and two club chairs from Belfort. Our sales experience was fantastic, excellent service, quick responses to questions and scheduled delivery within a few days of placing the order. Unfortunately that's where the good part of the story ends. Upon delivery we noticed the back on one of the chairs was loose, it wasn't stable like the other chair. This particular chair has zippers on the bottom that allow access to see the frame. After flipping the chair over and taking a look inside, the (particle board) frame was broken on both side of the chair back. I mean broken completely across the width of the back brace. Contacted Belfort and was told a replacement would be provided but that the chairs were back-ordered.. Given the slowness in the furniture industry we expected some delay, it took weeks to get a replacement, and upon delivery of the new chair, exact same issue, broken back, in the same spot as thee first chair. Contacted Belfort again, was told they would send a repairman out, that they were aware of and knew how to fix this issue. This was on March 10, repairman finally made it out on April 6. Repairman say, oh I have to take pictures and provide a report back to Belfort and get authorization to fix the chair, then I'll have to come back and take the chair so I can fix it in my shop. Well, I already provided pictures, Belfort said they authorized repair of the chair, but now we wait some more. Sad that just a simply update to Belfort's processes could fix this issue, how hard is it to tell the repairman that he is authorized to fix the issue on his first visit? Amateur at best. Proceed with caution, and have lots and lots of patience.

Elizabeth T.: We ordered a couch in January 2021 and were told it would take 10-12 weeks to arrive; it was not ready until September (over seven months later). We did not receive any updates from Heidi, our salesperson, until we called to request information after the first 12 weeks had passed. Every time we reached out to Heidi for an update, we were told the couch would be ready in 4 more weeks. Heidi had promised us free delivery because of the continuous delays about halfway through the wait time. Just before the couch was ready, we moved two hours away. We called Heidi and asked if the free delivery would be honored even with our farther address and she assured us that the couch would be delivered to our new address at no charge when ready. When we finally were notified that the couch was ready to be delivered, Belfort told us delivery would be $599 despite Heidi's promise. We spoke with her manager who told us that there was no way they would honor the free delivery. We took a few days to figure out how to pick up the couch ourselves, and that window of time was the ONLY instance that Heidi reached out to us throughout the whole process. Clearly she was impatient to get her commission on the sale now that it had arrived in the warehouse. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your furniture, because I assume all of Belfort's employees are like Heidi: they are helpful in the store but disappear after your piece is ordered, do not provide any updates on the timeline, make false promises, and then harass you to pick up your item ASAP when it is ready several months later than expected.

Annette Landers: Belfort has wonderful salespeople who are informative and we'll educated on the furniture they sell. From beginning to end our experience was pleasant and exceptional. I love my new dining room set and six chairs.

Lauren Doll: Ordered from belfort in the past (2019) and had a lovely experience. Ordered a chair 2 months ago and have had a very different experience. Store and staff were lovely, we ordered an armchair, and we were told it would come end of April. I absolutely understand that there are supply chain issues everywhere, but when i order from a trusted vendor, I expect them to be able to track their stock and communicate and explain any changes in timeline. When end of April came and no update, we checked in and they said now end of May. When end of May came, we checked in and they said it would come that week. Now week later we called back and they are saying end of June, with no explanation of what happened or confidence that this won’t keep happening. Now we have had an empty living room for a month and a half (we cleared everything out based on their original estimate) and don’t know if we should cancel the order or just keep waiting. I’ve ordered two other couches from other stores in the past 12 months and haven’t had these issues. Don’t think I would order from them again.

Julie: Moving to a new place and needed the carpets cleaned as there were a couple mystery stains and didn't know the cleaning history. Sir CleanAlot responded quickly and gave a really close estimate to how much the work would be. He also was very patient with all my questions via email. When he arrived he was very professional, very nice to chat with and did the work quickly. Explaining limitations for not knowing the history of the rug stains (I appreciated and understood) and afterwards had me check to see if everything looked good before taking payment. Eric C.: I called Darryl who is the owner and operator of Sir Clean A Lot carpet cleaning and he was very accommodating to my needs and my time. He was willing to work with me on EVERYTHING even down to the way that he and I disagreed on how to clean the carpet and what was clean and what was not. He even provided some stimulating conversation while he was working on my carpet. I even thru a small area in at the last minute and he didn't complain at all but again gladly accommodated. His level of customer service is off the chart and in these days and times you don't see that very often at all. So he just did my carpets on yesterday and I am hoping that when they dry they look just as good as they do when they are wet because I had a couple of rooms that were really an eyesore, so he said he had to bring the big guns. I will give you a hint text him a picture of your dirty carpet so that he will have a heads up and that will help to save both you and him some time and effort. But to his credit so far his big guns seem to have done the job. So yes I would recommend him even to my friends and not just to the people that I don't like. Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.

Stuart Miles-McLean: I don't like all the self check out lines which are killing jobs. They did have things I was looking for in the wild bird and critter section, but it appears they need more employees -- all over the store -- to keep the inventory organized and properly shelved and labeled. The employees I did encounter were very helpful and friendly; it just looked like they need more of them.

Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.

Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!

goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.

Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.

N R: Terrible customer service. Returning an item took 3 months of repeated calls to schedule a pickup and even when Lowe's had the item back multiple calls were needed to secure the refund. Such a hassle, so worth avoiding! The third party delivery service that they use doesn't turn up in the agreed time slots so it's very easy to miss them and then get stuck in the web of calls that are required to reschedule.

Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

Conchita Coney: Excellent but one of the employees didn't know what he was talking about whereas getting parts for a 2019 torro self-repellent lawn mower. He told my husband and I to go to store name Grainger on MD 202 they are either closed or permanently shut down.

Elizabeth Ramming: Assistance was top notch!! The gentlemen working there were very polite and helped me a lot with specific questions. HOWEVER-- However, I needed lumber, a 1X6 piece. What they had in stock was WET. But oh! I found 2 dry pieces at the bottom. But alas, don't be happy for me. Those pieces were warped in both directions - both along the length and width. That's it. Audrey Lester: Blind Customer: I increased shopping here during pandemic, as it’s in my community. On nearly all visits, I’m greeted at front door by a very knowledgeable staff member. I love how they know where every item is specifically located - like really! Upon entry, you’re on main isle. To your left are short isles leading to registers. Staff always escort me through store or to elevator where I’m met by another team member on lower level. Ayesha, General Manager, allows items to be opened for me when possible so I can feel item. I especially love their text message lime where consumers can ask questions before visiting store. Great Team!

Stephanie Sneary: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store often carries products you can’t find at larger stores— for instance I recently had need for a shorter length of 14/2 electrical wire that I found here.

koura Gibson: Disappointed to be rudely treated for “walking into store” before opening. The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Al Boyd: Customer service, was excellent. But I didn't appreciate being mistaken for a thief. I had the receipt was in my bag. I am a retired police officer, I don't need too steal anything from anyone.

Nathan Deunk: Very convenient location, and they've really improved the store since they moved locations. Unfortunately, Fragers employees and contractors consistently endanger the residents of the surrounding community by illegally parking on both 11th SE and Pennsylvania SE. I can't support a store that cares so little for their neighbors, especially when those neighbors are their customers.

Lorie Thurmon: If I could give this 0 stars I would. I went in to have a set of cushions duplicated (another set made). They told me they could do it. I picked out material for the new cushions and then was asked to write my name and number on a blank index card. Was told the price and I was told they would be ready in a week. I ended up having to call them after a week. Got a text the next day saying my cushions were ready and the price was $40.00 more than was told. Then she tried to tell me that she did not tell me the first price and sent me a picture of the (blank) card that I wrote my name and number on saying I signed the card AFTER she wrote the information on it. Which was a lie, the card was blank. In most cases, when you sign something your name is at the bottom of the paperwork. mine was at the top and then the information added at the bottom. Then as I was looking at the information she wrote on it, I knew something was not right. I get there to pick up both sets of cushions and there was only one set. They took the cushions that I took in to have a duplicate made of and put the material I had picked out for the new cushions on them. I was so upset, those cushions that I took in were my husband's grandmothers cushions for her rocker. I just wanted another set just like them. They had to dig through their trash to find the original material. They ended up having to redo the cushions to their original state. Not once did they apologize for the mix up or anything. They are very unprofessional and will lie to you. I will never take another thing to them. I would not recommend this place.
