Carla Smith: I have been coming to Tanya for my monthly facial since 1999! She gives me educated advice about my skincare needs and I have the utmost confidence and trust in her recommendations. Your skin will never feel as clean as after Tanya has treated you! I use only her products on my sensitive and oily skin and I have been extremely pleased with the results. Tanya also offers a variety of other services that I have enjoyed such as the Bella machine especially after a long flight, and her lymphatic drainage massage. She also carries several brands of make-up that are different from anything you will find in a department store -- very European. Five stars!
Petya Balevska: Tanya is an expert in anti aging skin care treatments and has extensive product knowledge. She formulates her own serums & creams which I’ve been using for over 10 years. Her caviar and truffle facial is amazing as well as her chemical peels.

MW MW: I moved here from California 6 months ago and was looking for a really good Esthetician. Specifically, I was searching for an Esthetician who provides the Oxylight facial. Lisa, is by far the most talented esthetician I have ever experienced. She took her time with me. Dedicated 2hrs of her time to assure I received a thorough facial. Sent me home Valmint skincare samples. My skin remained radiant for 3-4 weeks. I will be back!

Pamela Davis: My skin feels amazing!! I had the 30 min. signature facial with Anisa Ghafoorzai. I liked the environment, with nice music being played and modern furniture in the entrance. In addition to looking over my forms, they looked over all of the products to make sure none of them had ingredients I needed to avoid. Anisa didn’t just apply the ingredients, she massaged them gently into my face. She also made sure that my edges were covered and stayed dry. I’d book early since they tend to be pretty busy during peak times. I was so happy that products were gently recommended instead of pushed, which got me to pick up a moisturizer and lip balm. Will definitely be coming back again.

S H: The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because the owner is super nice & welcoming; I’ve also encountered some great estheticians. However, the customer service staff is horrible & can’t be bothered to explain things. Very oft-putting & after my last appointment, I won’t be going back. Every great new place eventually closes in DC because we don’t have good service industry folks, that’s why everything fails here but hope this place stays around. It’s convenient & I like the products they use.

Today I had a 50min facial with Whitney and she was super gentle, communicative and professional. I left feeling like “wow, I needed that”. This place is pricey but Im not mad at it because it felt worth it. This is actually my third time to this location and I will always recommend this spot. I was glad I could get an early morning booking because they book quickly. Thank you again!
Courtney Nelson: This place is great! I’ve been going for the last 3 months as part of the monthly membership. It’s a great deal and I’ve seen so many improvements with my skin already! I’ve seen Olga and Alex and they are both exceptional. Facials are tailored to the season and to you. No two facials have been the same yet! Also, I love that they suggest a few products at the end but they don’t try to up sell/ pressure you in to buying. The only downside is the website is not super user friendly and you can’t really see scheduled appointments or any account details. Not enough to deduct any stars cause you can just call and they will sort you right out!

Thank you I had the worst experience here - after moving my appointment 4 hours after the original time (after I already showed up and then having to reorganize my entire day) they did not acknowledge/apologize for it at all when I came back. Then after paying $250 for a 60 minute facial they did in 40 minutes. When I mentioned this at checkout I got a snooty response back and dismissed. Customer service 0/10 and facial wasn’t anything special.

But I found Beauty Skin Bar, right on 8th .. a little 15 minute stroll from Eastern Market..and I am SOLD! This is my 3rd or 4th time, Bri is excellent. Very nice, very professional and the level of customer service is always pleasant. The facility is clean, COVID compliant and calming. There’s always ocean sounds and music in my room. I also notice the little things like sage and kind messages placed around the room. Also I tried a hard wax Brazilian today - IT WAS MY FIRST TIME AND IM NEVER GO BACK TO SOFT WAX. Nana Oppong: As some one who never had a facial [or is one to upkeep a facial regimen], I could not think of a better experience! As soon as you walk in the decor is chic and welcoming. Sidney is very clean and meticulous. What I loved most was her knowledge to explain what she was doing and how it will help my skin. To be honest, as a west African of strong Black melanin, I had always been weary of skin care in fear that it will damage my skin. After my first appointment I noticed that my skin felt rejuvenated and vibrant. The fact that Skin identity can service people of all backgrounds is a super plus (I noticed that the men & women who came in before me and after me were all unique and beautiful with good energy). Skin identity has something for everyone! I just has my second appointment and I appreciate how Sidney took the time to check in to see how I both my skin and I were doing. The space is a also very clean and they take covid-19 precautions seriously. I always love coming here to take a break from the world and relax. Jamila Jenkins: Tried out TuSuva instead of going to another massage place and I was pleasantly surprised. My facial with Negin was lovely. I wish as long but my face felt amazing afterwards. I had a massage with Megan and she will put you to sleep! Overall amazing experience. The only thing I would say is the waiting area can be very noisy and not as calming as I would have liked. But I definitely will be coming back for my techs!

Debra Stanton-Latif: I love the ladies at Cosmetic Skin Institute! Jessica is amazing! I was long past due for some fillers so I didn’t know where to begin, and since I was on a budget, i really needed some guidance. I knew Jessica would guide me in the right direction. I have complete trust in her to “plump me up” in the areas that most need it. After consulting with her she took a different approach than what I had in mind. I am so happy I placed complete trust in her because I could not be more satisfied with the results! Fine lines around my mouth and wrinkles on my chin area from many years of smoking have virtually vanished, and the subtle plumping of my lips…perfect! Not fake or too full that it was super obvious but enough that my lips had shape again. My glabellar lines & frown lines are diminished and now much less prominent. I cannot Express how happy I am with the results. Jessica and her entire staff are just wonderful and so helpful and pleasant. Angela is amazing for skin rejuvenation treatments. She is super knowledgeable and will customize a treatment plan for you based on your personal needs and goals. She has guided me on the right path with a skincare regime. I won’t go anywhere else - and I travel from PA, nearly 4 hours for my appointments.
Christian C: The ladies who work out of the Cosmetic Skin Institute’s DC location are literally the best. I’ve been going to CSI for about a year now and I keep coming back because of Judy Silvero’s great work. She is kind, professional, and best of all, knowledgeable at what she does. She’ll answer all 500 of your questions & still somehow manage to finish you up in time enough for you to make your lunch date! Not to mention the results she gives you are absolutely flawless. The facility is clean and never crowded. They schedule out appointments perfectly so there is never a long wait. Like I’ve said I’ve been going for a year and I’ve only ever sat in the lobby for 2 minutes max during a visit. The ladies who work the front desk are wonderful as well. Specifically Sonia, who also preps you for your procedure. She is so sweet and accommodating & I can tell she plays a big part in making sure everything runs smoothly at this location. Update: Parking is available behind the building and just found out that street parking is free for two hours. 5 stars!

Kimberly Bowen: Five stars for this place of business! The office is gorgeous, with lots of natural light, and it’s spotless! Not a spec of dirt or dust anywhere. Everyone I encountered was professional, pleasant and helpful. The Nurse Practitioner was very knowledgeable about different products and she was attentive to my specific needs. She listened to what I wanted and made suggestions on what products would get me the results I was looking for. She was honest regarding the maintenance required and time-lasting/life of the products. Upon entering the office I didn’t even make it up to the front desk to check in because the Medical Assistant was ready and waiting there to greet and take me back as soon as I walked in. I highly recommend the Cosmetic Skin Institute. They are a top-notch medical skin care services facility. My experience from start to finish was seamless, pleasant, easy, and time-efficient. I’m thrilled with the results and will definitely be returning.

She greeted me with a smile in her eyes (mask was on) and proceeded to explain the procedure in detail and wrapped her spiel by asking me if I had any questions. She exhibited a level of concern & compassion unmatched by any other physician. During my procedure today, she verbalized exactly what she was doing every step of the way. She even went as far as sharing some recent adventures she had been on. I left feeling confident in her knowledge, abilities, and professionalism. What a class act Dr Alster is. Amanda Sloper: Le-Nhu just did my moxie a few weeks back and I am so happy with the results. She is very knowledgeable, patient, and walks you through all the steps and after care thoroughly. He talents are obvious! I also so enjoyed my time with her— she kept me laughing. She also gives great recommendations on skincare but is not pushy. I will be back to see her in the fall for BBL and I am already looking forward to it.

Lia Burrell: I had a great consultation for cool sculpting with Chastity. She was very friendly and transparent about the procedure. I had to reschedule my original appointment but the receptionist was very understanding. Finally on my appointment day I was very relieved to see Chastity again. They have recently hired more personable people since the early days but there are a few people who work in this office that must lead a miserable daily life. I wish them well, but I truly hate encountering people with toxic dispositions in the service industry. It’s very disruptive to my energy and unprofessional at best.
