Zack Udin: Excellent little spot. Quan set me up with a new complete deck and we chatted for a bit. Plenty of selection and you can tell they care about customers. Will def be back for clothes and anything else.

Reginald Fabrice Vaval: Crushed is a great skate shop. They are filling a void since a lot of the other local skate shops in the area had closed. The staff is super knowledgeable and always helpful. Even through the pandemic they have found ways to accommodate their customers in a great way. They will forever have my business.

Allison Bishara: We had an outstanding experience with Liam here today. I am a clueless parent who thought my daughter might like a skateboard for her 4th birthday so we drove out to this shop in Fairfax. Liam spent a long time educating us about the gear and giving my daughter little lessons. All of this was happening while my 1 1/2 year old ran all around the shop, but Liam was patient and thorough. My daughter spent the rest of the afternoon practicing on her skateboard and loved it, because Liam made her feel comfortable and confident to try it. I never spontaneously write online reviews, but we had such a good experience that I wanted to share.

Brendan Cruz: Went in to get my first skateboard. Jackson helped me from the very beginning and was the absolute best throughout the whole process. Vivian Lu: Best skate shop in all of NOVA. I frequent here to buy wheels, bearings, and other skate gear. Today I finally bought one of the Aluminati boards (cruiser board made from recycled aircraft). Rode it for about an hour, and it packs a punch for a cruiser board! I recommend going here for reasonably priced skateboards or gear. The people there will always try to help you.

Andrew Arena: Highly recommend this great skate shop! Had just a wonderful, ideal shopping experience thanks to Jackson - the friendly, knowledgeable, helpful gentlemen who took care of us. Our son wanted his first skateboard for his 15th birthday today. Initially looked online… so many options, but how to choose? So glad I read a “choosing your first skateboard” article that advised NOT buying online, but visiting your local shop. We are SO glad we did! Jackson explained all the options that bewilder a beginner - deck widths, concavity, wheel hardness, etc… He explained the pros/cons of the choices in our budget, and even gave a quick getting started lesson to our son. Instead of picking potential junk online, we walked away with a perfect board, and the skills and confidence to get started…. He’s practicing Jackson’s lessons right now, and it’s working. From day one!! If you’re a first timer, save yourself the frustration…definitely go to your local shop, not online!! And no matter your level of experience, if you want a great selection, a great shopping experience, and knowledgeable helpful staff… definitely go to Fairfax Surf Shop!!! Today was our first time, but we’re now lifetime loyal customers, thanks Jackson and FSS!!!

Rashawd Smith: Teo and Jake were very knowledgeable and patient with me and my kids. Skateboarding has DRASTICALLY changed since I was a kid so now I found that I know exactly zip about anything other than balancing. Teo fixed our old boards, changed over the trucks and wheels. Jack hooked us up with some new boards and gear. The Vibe was cool and my kids are VERY happy with the purchases. The inventory is super diverse and if I still had good knees I would have gotten a board for myself!!! They have a board for everyone and knowledge for all who want to learn. Also I would highly recommend the skate camp that Fairfax Surf Shop manages. My kids are loving that as well and now they can skateboard better than when I tried to teach them. 5 Stars well deserved. james robertson: 10/29/2021 I went here today for a quality long board based on a rave review I saw online yesterday. Don't know if it was Yelp or Google or somewhere else... Doesn't matter, they were spot on! The owner, Kaare (pronounced like "carry") treated me like family, like it was my actual brother helping me to choose board, trucks, LED wheels, and even the adjusting tool. So many choices, and this skateboard is AWESOME! THANK YOU KAARE!

Quran Barnes: just came from this place today expecting to just buy a board and leave but instead stayed for almost an hour talking to the owner Kaare. Super cool and great guy. He showed me around the place and even gave me a discount. its not often you run into super genuine and helpful shop owners. will definitely be returning.

James McDowell: The guy who runs this place is the most based man on the planet. Come to this shop and you will receive quality hardware, expert advice, and strangely heartwarming scenes that make you think you just walked into a TV show.

Khun Chalee: We have moved away from Bethesda to Asia but this is our go-to place every time we are in town. Owner Kaare is wonderful. A big heart and full of passion who will stop what he’s doing to guide and advise you. A great selection of old school decks. Easy street parking outside and not that far of a walk from the Metro. There are also ramps inside the shop. Highly recommended.

Kasey Noble: Me and my mother went there for me to get my first skateboard so I could start a skateboarding career as just another hobby. The guy over there was such a nice person, he gave us free drinks, a good deal on a nice skate tool and was just overall so nice and welcoming. If you are looking to buy your first skateboard I very much suggest going here as they are very nice people

Since they sell essential products such as mobility scooters, they are able to stay open through the Covid pandemic and brought many skaters and their parents Joy. they have lots of rare collector's editions as well as the tried-and-true current-day setups that you need to shred like the pros.

She was able to schedule an appointment for me so quickly for service for my skates and was able to give me some awesome recommendations for new skates. She seems super knowledgeable about everything skate related and I will definitely be using her shop for all of my skate needs!

Bonnie Felts: The owner is knowledgeable, and super helpful. She is looking to get you the right skate or accessory, not trying to just take your money and run. Will fit you for the best possible skate to your foot, and get you your dream set up!

Leslie Cleveland: Great shop local original gear and some old favorite brands too. What makes it really worth it is the customer service. We went in 2 different times today. Once in the morning, it was busy and once before it closed. Tre was there both times. Even after a long day he recognized us from earlier (we are in masks I was impressed) , greeted us and asked my daughter how she did in her competition. We did not realize it was closing and he said not to worry. He kept the store open so my daughter could try on swimsuits. Customer service is huge to me and this place has it. Oh and another great thing your spending money in a locally owned store!!!

Haundray Muir: I had an awesome time working with Brackish, they helped me set up my new deck and their on shift staff I think his name was Kevin went above and beyond to help me even at expense to the company, I will 10/10 be getting my skate gear from here

Shaun Hamaker: Amazing.. I live in Virginia and I ordered a beautiful dgk deck it came in approximately 2 weeks after I bought it. It was packaged very nicely came with a big paper receipt inside the box with an amazing sticker. I had no troubles at all with delivery, overall a very appreciable site. Thank you!

Enchanted Droplets: Great selection of merchandise and super cool skateboards. We bought 2 last Christmas and the kids are really enjoying them. The owners are very nice and always very helpful. A very cool environment. 😎

Taylor Clawson: The owners are AMAZING! I called 10 minutes before the store closed because I was in a frenzy that I hadn’t packed anything but dress clothes for a conference that got cut short. The husband graciously stayed a bit after closing to let me frantically shop. The selection is so amazing that I got way more than I went in for. Despite my constant apologies, he never made me feel like I was a burden even though I made him stay at work late when he could have been with his family at home.

Jill Hill: This place is a gold nugget! I went in thinking that I'd maybe try on a few Riedell skate boots to figure out my size, but assuming that the exact boot I wanted in the right size would not be there. Walked out with exactly what I wanted. The owner was very knowledgable and helpful. There's a fee to try on skates if you don't buy anything, but I think his knowledge is definitely worth the money. Also, there was a great supply of wheels too for both indoor and outdoor skating. I also liked that someone was there changing wheels and toe stops for customers on site. Not a roller derby store, but has everything else. Best skate shop I've ever been to.

Josh Toomey: Best Skate shop in Maryland. Wife and I just got skates made up with Kevin, and we are extremely pleased. Very competitive pricing with online stores, and forthright communication. Hausbro Inc: I wasted my time at this business after looking around when I was told it takes three months to get a pair of skates. I was hesitant but decided to order a pair skates upon which I was informed they ONLY could get 1style which was the most expensive. Mind you I called before I arrived.

As a newbie to the skating world, Kevin helped me by explaining the different boot styles, trucks, wheels. etc. After trying on a few pairs, I decided on a pair of Riddell skates. Chris Solloso: This was the closest store to me that sold skates, first time getting a pair and I basically had to just stand there as all the workers actively ignored us and gave the bare minimum info about skates. Had to ask alot of questions for them to tell us good info to know and wasn't really nice. The workers took their time when it was obvious they could finish my transaction. The whole thing felt awkward and just like what other reviewers said they made me feel like I'm bothering them by being there. It was just uncomfortable and weird, I got skates and the shop itself seems fine just the customer experience was lacking and at times plain rude. And it took 2 hours to try on 2 pairs of skates and buy 1. There was only 2 customers before us and only 1 worker was helping those people pretty clear they just didn't wanna try.

William Bonilla: The man who helped me was a huge babe. He helped us even though we came a little late and was so attentive and nice. The fitting was easy and quick and the skates were perfect. So comfortable! Would recommend - especially if you are buying your first pair like me :)

A. Perez: We arrived at Bikes and Skates after leaving our skating class. Three people were standing outside of the store to get in, which didn't seem like it would take too long, but it ended up being a 90-minute wait before entering the store. Once in the store, NO ONE greeted us to ask what we were looking for, how they could assist us or anything. When I asked one of the reps a question, I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. After 10 minutes of no help, we left empty-handed. We just ordered our skates online. I do not recommend this shop at all.

Unfortunately with the pandemic we do not allow a full store to protect everyone and give them their space. We are extremely busy every day and try our best to assist everyone. Kamilah Brown: Earlier this summer we visited this store looking for skates. We waited in line for 2+ hours only to leave the store empty handed. If certain skates were no longer in stock maybe put up a sign or let your customers who are waiting in line aware of this. Their customer service skills were below average.

We sell 60 pairs of skates a day unfortunately we have no knowledge on what someone is going to want. The Wait time can be up to three hours but we have made some improvements.

Allen Jones: The owner is amazing. I'm very new to snowboarding and came in to get my first board with everything else. Bindings, boots, board, mittens, and clothes. He explained everything to me about all of the options, pros and cons of each. He has a ton of experience and I didn't feel like he was rushing to make a sale. I had a ton of questions and he answered them fully and made me feel really confident in my purchases. He sold me a board but since I have a wide foot sadly they didn't have my size. He knew I wanted to go that weekend and lent me a rental board until my new board came in. I can't say how grateful I am for his understanding and willingness to get me on a board! I usually don't leave reviews but this man went out of his way to make sure I had the best snowboarding experience possible. If I could give more stars I would. 10/10 amazing service and information. I'll be coming here for all of my snowboarding needs.

shinork ozkan: Josh was super friendly. My son is just getting into the skating scene and me being a skater when I was young, I was amped to find a REAL skate shop like the ones I used to frequent. Pure is THAT shop. We got some new wheels and pads. Josh even had my son help install the bearings and the wheels and showed him how to adjust his trucks. Great lesson!! Went to the skate park and he was tearing it up! Doesn't matter your skill level, Pure is the spot. Definitely coming back!

Ryan Deering: I ordered some half-cabs and a Dorsia shirt from Pure recently. It was shipped super quick and they even added some shop stickers and a handwritten note telling me my shoes were dope(they are)! Love to support small skate shops and Pure is legit, I definitely recommend!

Ian Grahek: I had the best experience at this skate shop. I used to live here, but I have been out of town for many years, and a good friend of mine recommended the shop to me. Customer service was excellent and they had what I needed. He put together my complete set up in just a few minutes and I was ready to roll.

Karlo Gutierrez: Drove 40mins out to check out the shop. Got there a little after 12, shop was not open. Waited around almost 2 hrs to see if someone would show so I didn't waste a trip out there. Tried contacting shop and owner via social media, no posts were made indicating shop would be closed. Very unprofessional and discourteous to customers not to post that the shop would be closed for the day.

Niv Fishbein: I came here to buy a snowboard, bindings, boots, and snow bib, after reading reviews of all the local shops. I called and was told that the owner, Josh, is the expert in snowboards and that he was out and wouldn't be in. I was let down since it was my only day in Annapolis and wouldn't be back for a while. The next day by chance I ended up in Annapolis and had time to speak to Josh by phone first. He gave me a ton of info and listened to my needs, and I told him I'd swing by. I came in hours later close to closing time, and he worked with me for over an hour to select the perfect setup. His knowledge of all of the options were top notch, you could tell he loved boarding and had experienced many of these products first hand. Josh never pushed anything on me, wasn't trying to upsell, just wanted to make sure I was happy with my selections. I highly recommend coming here for any snowboard or skateboard needs, it was definitely worth holding out for Pure Board Shop.

Tiki Skate: Josh and Vinny provide the best shopping experience very time we visit! My son is treated like he is their only customer in the world. They help him find everything he wants and needs. I’ve been in retail for 30 years and have never found a retail store who has provided exceptional customer service as they consistently do! Chri: Went with the Bro to buy our first snowboards for the coming winter season. Super relaxed environment. The shop owner has tried on everything he sells you, which means he has a story for every piece of gear you see on the shop. Will answer all the questions you have and is very informed about the direction in which the industry he operates in is heading. And above all, the people who work there are cool, chill, and are very invested in making sure you are happy with your buy. They sell you stuff while you try it out on their couch. You can’t beat keeping the local plug alive over blowing your money online.

Keith Dosik: I stopped into the shop to buy my first board in half a decade. I was a bit wary getting back into skating but the great people at Embark helped so much! Brent made me a custom board and let me pick his brain about the best options. Definitely makes it wayyy less intimidating and I definitely will be back.

Michael Mannarino: Stopped by on a trip back home. Wonderful to see a shop in downtown Frederick again. Great store. Great owner.

Brenton MacAloney: I took my 6yo and 8yo daughters into Embark Skate Shop as they wanted to use the money they got for Christmas to buy skateboards. The decks they really wanted, I could only find online and only in adult sizes. I didn't want to get them the wrong sized boards, so I figured I'd go to a shop and get some professional input into this purchase. Also, during these times it is important to my family to shop local, so we drove out from Elkridge to shop here as we saw great reviews on products and customer service from Embark. The gentleman who helped us (sorry I didn't catch his name) was super friendly and helpful in finding boards that were the right size for my daughters. Since they have never skateboarded before, he even offered to tighten the wheels to assist in them learning to ride. The girls loved the selection of decks he had and both found ones they loved (I told them they needed to love it to buy it since it was a big purchase). The skateboards we got were comparable to what you'd find online, so the price was right and we were supporting a local business. Win-win situation! The girls even got an Embark Skate Shop sticker that they immediately asked me to put on their bedroom doors. Overall the customer service in the store, as well as the prices were great. We definitely recommend going here if you are in the market for skateboards or skateboard parts.

Jonathan Keller: This is a quality shop top shelf. Staff is very knowledgeable not pushy and down right awesome people. They treated my daughter and myself as friends. Great selection on boards trucks wheels cloths and shoes. Great place to bring kids and introduce them to a real skate shop not a mall chain. We will continue business here as long as the doors are open !

Lewis Kim: Brent, who runs the shop, is the man! Always super helpful and accommodating, even through these strange times with covid-19. Hard not to fully back a shop where the owner rips but also puts customer service first. They can ship orders to you if you can't make it or prefer not to travel to the shop in person.

Bryan Cardoza: Little skate gem of Frederick. Place is clean and employees are courteous. My son spent some birthday money on shoes and a embark sweater. Good selection of decks,grip tape ,wheels,trucks and bearing.

Aaron Contic: Came into this location to purchase a set of irons, found a set of Taylormade M2 irons that I initially thought were correctly priced at $499. I asked the team member working in the golf department that I was interested and ask where the rest of the set was. He replied that the rest of the set was missing. I asked what was the current price with 3 clubs of the 7 iron set missing? His response was “that’s the price, my manger won’t change it for some reason, but you can ask him” So I asked to speak to the manger which He initially said was available. I was then told that the manager currently on duty was conveniently on a conference call and was now unavailable and the answer was “NO” on a new price for the remaining clubs. To start the team member was friendly and helpful. That being said. I’m also a manager in retail and if a customer asked to talk to a manager about a reasonable question. Im not going to have my employee have to tell the customer “NO” That’s terrible customer service and it’s also a bad business practice to try to sell customers a product that’s missing pieces for the same price as if it’s not!

Misael Reyes: Staff was very helpful soon as I walked through the door security asked what I needed and I got it in less than 20 minutes I was out the door with my daughter's rollerblade slash roller skates

Maritza Cooper: Always a pleasure to visit this location. The store is always clean and organized. You usually get greeted as you walk in the door. The associates are always helpful and pretty knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to help! Well stocked too! Bought a fitness trampoline to keep a 7 yr old from going stir crazy in an apartment during these NO School days! Hope it works! It was Waaay up high. Had 3 different associates make sure I got what needed. All while helping other customers.

When I tell you that the amount of "OUTSTANDING" customer service that the professional young lady "Ryan" gave to her while she was shopping was absolutely amazing!! I had to tell my cousin through the phone to please tell Ms. Ryan that the level of coatomer service she gave was "THE BEST" that I have seen in a very long time. Ryan if your reading this please keep up the good work!! I am extremely proud of you young lady.

Joseph Kolosey: If you live around Port, Grace, or Perryville this should 100% be ur go to spot for skate equipment. At this point in time the shops been working for give or take 20 years. The history/roots of the shop itself give it a nostalgic feeling. Although the shop is small it contains everything needed for skate boards, not so much longboards, few shoes, and articles of clothing. U also couldn't ask for a better staff just be real with them and they'll pull through...

Jake W: Super chill place with tons of board options all sizes. Friendly staff with patience to let you choose what you want. They put together my board for me and didn’t try to upsell me anything, I hate when places do that.They let you do all the deciding with information about what you choose. chris banks: When you really know skateboarding in and out you stop by their spot. It is the local spot for a lot of cecil and harford county MD. Don't sleep on their shop or front because if their selection is slim picking, it is up to customers to help with the revenue. If you are shredding and you break a board, kingpin, an axle, a bearing, or need different wheels... they are there. Hardware breaks too, so give them a try and possibly save yourself the hassle of waiting for a delivery or driving to Charm city or the U of D. Remember it is a humbling art for everyone to enjoy at any age. Cheers and keep bring joy!

Ryan Sevart: Small local shop, decent selection of basics with friendly knowledgeable staff. Went here to buy a new board for my daughter. They answered all my questions and helped me make the best decision for our circumstances. If my daughter continues skating they will have a repeat customer.

RJ 5: Went a few months back. And yes, SET YOUR APPOINTMENT! It’s really simple and usually plenty of time slots available. Had one small issue which is why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 (really 4.5). The issue… a shoe in my size showed in stock on their website. Asked the young lady working for my size, who turned and asked the Asian gentleman working the counter. Miscommunication between those two and I was told it wasn’t in stock. After a little bit of a back and forth match between the gentleman and I, he realized he was incorrect because he thought the shoe was a different color! All in all, he went to the back, found the shoe, found me a hat to match and I even grabbed another pair that I wasn’t expecting to grab for a little discount! So the 1 stars I see here seem to be fundamentals in reading comprehension 😂. I would go back more often but I do hate the parking situation but it’s DC! But I’ll be back!

Letetia Thompson: Horrible Experience! Was visiting from out of town! Which is typically what most people in Georgetown is doing, visiting. A tourist would not be familiar with the "appointment only" policy. I was greeted by an extremely RUDE Asian lady yesterday! I understand policy and procedure, as I am a business owner. However, one does not have to be rude or insensitive to get the point across. I would never patronize this company, nor refer anyone else. Due to the horrible customer service! I am sure you all could care less. But, try being a little nicer to your customer base. Especially people traveling, when you have ZERO customers inside the store!

Raul Jimenez: This store has very poor customer service. They don’t really care about the walk in traffic. I showed up on 4/13/2022 around 4pm. I saw the sign on the front regarding appointments but was not sure if it was accurate. An asian lady opened the door and was very rude, and then and african american guy came out of no where and was also very rude and was trying to shut the door in my face. He told me that they don’t care about turning away customers because “we are meeting our sales any ways, we good” and shut the door. This business has no sympathy for customers. Its okay if you work by appointments but you need to be more kind to customers. Also based on the way you respond to people on these reviews it still shows that you don’t care about customers, you get defensive and don’t make people feel welcome. 1 star for sure.
Response: What part of “Appointment Only”did you not understand? We care about customers who take time to actually make the appointment and follow the procedure. Do not try to argue your way in, and do not question the rule. You are not entitled to anything.

Rihab Chaieb: I didn’t even go in. I was walking around and saw the store and tried to enter, and this employee just opened the door and asked me if I had an appointment (like I had any idea to book an appointment for browsing?!). I said no, she slammed the door to my face while saying “you need appointment”. Well I need to not spend my money in your store, that’s as simple as that.
Response: You simply need to learn how to read before trying to enter. There are 4 signs that indicate that the shop is appointment only. Don't feel so entitled that you can just enter when the door is closed. There are plenty of 5 star reviews from those that actually matter.

Kneisha G: I spent over $100 in lyft costs to travel to major on Monday and Tuesday. Monday the was closed shop and when I emailed the manager they told them I'm in front of the store. They replied back we were open, you just needed to reschedule your appointment. I rescheduled it for the next day, and she didn't want me to touch nor walk around the store. Every time I tried to ask a question, she interrupted and said you can't try on the shoes, you can't try on the shoes! laughed and said do you even want me to come in? I haven't even told you wanted. She didn't say anything, and when I left she said just go online

Dukes: Went during COVID. An appointment is required to enter the venue. I arrived well before my scheduled time and still had to wait 10 -15 min post my appointment time before I could enter. It appears I was delayed entry because they were conducting inventory updates on the retail floor. This cannot be done in the Stock room? I digress. The store will have something for every “sneaker head”. However the staff didn’t seem as knowledgeable about their product. Also you are paying reseller price for certain shoes even if the release is a week after its general retail release. Not cool. I think ordering via Major’s website is a best situation vs going to the store. Visiting the store is more of a bucket list experience. Once you did it you’ll never need to do it again.

Dr. Brian Sevier: Easily the dopest shoe spot in the city. The owners are very friendly.. very knowledgeable and VERY down to earth! They make you feel like family every time you walk in the door!!

Trey B: They handle raffles and in store release days horribly. Do not recommend. Edit (since the business decided to leave a snarky reply): First come first serve is absolutely no issue. However, no ticketing system, no information given to those in line about stock, and ridiculous wait times are not the norm for in person first come first serve releases. All online raffles require an Instagram to enter, such an obvious cheap ploy for marketing when their website could easily handle it. My advice: find a shop that actually cares about their customers instead of snarky Google reviews.
Response: Our releases are first come first serve. It's unfortunate that you could not show up early enough to get in line, but don't blame us. We do care about customers. And that’s why there’s always plenty of customers that shop with us. What we don’t need is entitled shoppers who think they need a guaranteed pair of limited shoes during a pandemic. We serve customers that actually care about shoes. Not resale value.

Megan Snyder: Not only was the customer service terrible but extremely unprofessional. These owners / employees only care about taking your money & not the quality of the shoes they’re selling. Reached out to them about an issue with the yeezys I bought and they basically told me there’s nothing they can do. Not to mention the store looks nothing like it does on the website, when you walk in there’s boxes everywhere you can barely walk through. The women helping did know what she was talking about which pushed me to feel more confident in buying from them, but turns out I got two different size yeezys and they are not willing to do anything to help.
Response: Please post receipts or pictures. We do go through appointment calendars so if you really did shop with us, there would be a record with the name.

Sebastian Johannes Ferdinand: The tone in this store is the worst I have experienced in my time in Washington DC. On top of that, you are not allowed to try on the shoes. You are only allowed to look and then buy directly. Unfriendly, poor selection, no opportunity to try on. Well, then I'll just order from another store, ONLINE!

Roslyn Rawles: This brought back so many memories as a kid skating here. The music and the people were great. We had so much fun young and old.

Looks like the rink is holding water in its front right corner and needs a little repair or TLC. Hazard cones were in place and it didn't stop anyone from having a good time. The rink was also well lite and park police made rounds often so we also felt safe even as the last few persons to leave.

Queen Legitimate: I remember Nocturnal being over on 3rd street back in the day if im remembering correctly. This location is equally as prime. Right in the heart of South Street, South Street doesnt have the same charm it once did but seeing stores like Nocturnal still pushing definitely offers some diversity to the area. The people there are very skate community oriented and well informed on the product and the sport. Everyone inside was super nice i didnt feel pressured to make a purchasr, very chill atmosphere. I'd recommend this skateshop to any skater, novice or pro.

Sunryze: The guys were friendly & very knowledgeable. They helped my son with the many questions he had about the type of skateboard & accessories would be best for him. Not only did they give him answers but they took the time to explain why they would be best and how they worked which I think is great for the kids(or adults) that are just learning. My son absolutely loves his new skateboard, he says it's a smooth ride & feels nice! They even put it together for him on the spot. Thanks guys!

Contraspection Films: Heavy lurker vibe....... We wanted to support a local shop but it gets weird when you got 20+ dudes sitting around with takeout containers just eating food and vibing out on customers. We got vibed out and left.

Nomad Skateboarding: Everything that's right in the world of skateboarding. Just the right selection of anything you need (decks, etc, shoes, clothes, videos, skate mags you won't find elsewhere). If you have a question, these people actually care about what's best, not just a sale. They support the community. One of the best skate shops I've ever been in (and after 39 years of skating, I've been in A LOT).

Beau Edmund: Possibly the most authentic brand and shop in Philadelphia. After browsing at several “sneaker stores” and street wear/menswear boutiques I was extremely underwhelmed with hypebeast currated displays and lackluster inventory. Even more so I was majorly put off by lack of customer service and general demeanor of staff. When I walked into nocturnal skate shop I was immediately greeted and offered assistance if needed. While looking around I was welcomed by a second employee. They carry fantastic high quality brands oriented around their original customer, philly skaters. Their nocturnal branded items are tasteful, modest, high quality and just cool. Cheers to Nocturnal and their staff, thanks for never compromising!

brianna jiles: They were very unprofessional about the Travis Scott Sb 1 releases I won a raffle right they called me he calls and say one of our staff members didn’t put the size on the ticket which in the store the staff said to me don’t put your size well call you if you win and tell you the sizes we have so they call and say You been selected what size do you need I said 9.5 he goes sorry you only had 1 chance to claim a size and that size was taken ummm what??? That wasn’t in the rules also it’s the dude from the store fault not mine they didn’t handle this situation well at all jus left me hanging with no sneaker I will give them a bad review all the time

Bojana Stef: I never had such a negative experience in Nordstrom. There is a clear sign at the entrance door and in the store stating that if I download their app-get $5off. In from of the cashier and later store manager Ronda I did that and then they declined to give me $5 off as some banner on the app didn't show up - no explanation no nothing. I never had the Nordstrom app before (during covid, I was in Europe, and I just came back, so I didn't have the app). I will communicate this to Nordstrom.as well. If something is advertised, they have to honor it.

Jason Almeida: Great place for branded items at discounted prices. Ok maybe they might not be the style of the season but it's still worth it. Street parking is easily available all around the store. It's not as big as some of the other outlets but you'll still find a great verity of products

George Brightman: Plenty of stock, although uneven from department to department. Staff on hand were friendly, capable and obviously very busy ( probably quite a few out sick or under quarantine ) -- so bring your own sense of fashion, do some browsing, and go home with some serious bargains !

40ish Sophisticate: This is the worst Rack I have ever been to and I am a frequent shopper plus a Nordstrom card holder for decades. The service is very poor. Lots of standing around, only one person checking out but plenty of security though. Will not return. This an update- I am just now seeing that the cashier did not credit my account for my return! This is absolutely unacceptable! I wish I never shopped at this location 😪

M Hunt: Horrible "customer service" at this location. Employees are rude and extremely unhelpful. Jon Scott: You never know what you are going to see in the mens shoe dept. I usually come here to ' just browse' but most of the time I find my self purchasing yet another a new pair of kicks!

Stacy Lemery: Nordstrom Rack is a great place, in-person or online for a myriad of goods, particularly shoes since Nordstrom the Department store is known for shoes and carrying extended sizes. I have noticed a shift in the Nordstrom Rack stores to now carry home goods like sheets and bedding. Be careful if you go in there - it's easy to shop, shop, shop!

May RC: I took some of my friends here, it was a great place to get dinner and hang out. We were in the restaurant area but there was a downstairs bar/lounge area you can go to as well. Lots of cool art everywhere, I would say even worth checking out even if you don't get food here. But for the food, I thoufht it was really amazing. It's really great to be able to have an opportunity to try russian/ukrainian food that's traditionally is not vegan/vegetarian. My favorite was the stuffed cabbage and of course the pelmeni (dumplings) but everything we got was good. My friends liked the fish and chips and peasant potatoes the best. One note about the fish and chips - I've had a lot of vegan nuggets but these were the best I've ever had. They were freshly made and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They actually tasted exactly like Mcdonald's chicken nuggets, I couldn't believe it was vegan. The only downside is that it's a bit expensive probably bc it's located right at Adam's Morgan and finding parking was tough. I would come again (but maybe not on a friday or saturday night if I'm driving )

Stella Chen: Food was delicious, plenty of nice outdoor seating and nice staff:) Everything on the menu is vegan!! Both the Ukrainian and Russian dumplings were SO GOOD. It is expensive but good local vegan food is well worth it :D You order online at your table which is super convenient! I will recommend and hopefully can come by again to properly check out the inside 😋

Liron Newman: The place is weird. :) Skateboard shop weed vegetarian Central Europeans restaurant dance club bar? I'm not sure that all of this works together. The food was good though, and they turned down the music when we asked (we sat upstairs). Downstairs, there was a DJ playing for about 5 people who sat at the bar, and one guy on a video call on his laptop. Be warned that the menu is pretty minimal, it was fine for us but I'd suggest checking it online first so everyone has something to eat.

Sara R.: The service at this restaurant was REALLY disappointing. Slow and unresponsive to requests, even though they are all made virtually. The food is decent, but I don't tolerate bad service. The Yuca Root cooked to a golden perfection, garnished with fresh cilantro, and served with a creamy vegan jalapeño-cilantro sauce. They need to be served with twice as much sauce though, because there wasn't enough sauce for the whole order. Overall they're dry (because yuca is a dry root). Russian traditional vegan chicken flavored dumplings served with sour cream and dill. The dish was tasty, the sour cream added a lot of flavor to the order. I don't think the filling itself had a lot of flavor, but I didn't expect that from a basic chicken-flavored filling.

Clarissa Murphy: It's: 1. Dark 2. Underground 3. Decorated fairly decent I went at 2 p.m. and the place was dark as a cave. The lounge is underground and most of the lights were off. The bartenders were friendly and they made great drinks. The bathrooms are also dark but painted funky, wild colors. It is hard to get a parking spot. No 🚭

Cliodhna MacFadden: We purchased the Element 65” TV, and after 3 days the backlight broke. We tried everything to fix it. Without a box or receipt in hand, we brought it back to see what may be possible to do. Associates TK, Nicole S, and Anton were able to use the debit card used to purchase to look up my receipt to get our return sorted. We so appreciate them going truly above and beyond to show us their compassion and excellent customer service.

Jasmine Thomas: Mobile Tech Has A Rude Raspy Voice Lady Working There. Ms.Kathy Is Extremely Unprofessional & Doesn’t Know What She Is Talking About. She Lied & Told Me That An AT&T Phone Was Unlocked. The Phone Wasn’t Unlocked & I Was Trapped In A Contract. Shayna Deverman: Dirty, unorganized, extremely low stock on everything. Items thrown everywhere, picked over. Shoe isle was a disgrace. Nice they have an “Ulta”, but very limited items. Took me several minutes to figure out where body wash was. Haircare, travel, makeup is all grouped together in the front/middle-like typical but body wash/deodorant was clear on the end of the store. Terrible flow. All that looking and they had very limited washes! Men’s selection had more to choose from. Went in there with a very basic list and got one thing on it… my nearest Walgreens was more helpful…disappointing since I love me a Target trip. I won’t be back to this one.

Kaila Gilbert: Good store, could benefit from more helpful signage 😂 idk throw a digital map on the wall or something. but even though I got vertigo/whiplash/confused trying to find a suitcase (they're on the 2nd floor in the wayback) no complaints and the people are good. Most people do self checkout bc line passes fast, so don't be intimidated if it's long. Idk choose your adventure. Shoe section looks a litttle crazy in the afternoons, but that's consistent with the behaviors/type of people who live here lmao. Moving too fast, not putting stuff back, lowkey entitled ahaha

Adah Deveaux: This review is for the starbucks within target. My drinks were great but a little of a wait. The actual target was customary.

Thomas Nali: NO PARKING VALIDATION Poor inventory. This is on a regular old Monday. I asked for the product I was looking for, they checked in the back, and said it was too hard to get to and another employee would work on it, but they don’t know how long it will be. This was at almost noon. Look at how few dairy products are on the shelf. Staff continued to prove unhelpful. I asked four different employees where a type of product was and they each told me to find someone who worked in that dept. OR they just told me they “probably don’t have it” WITHOUT even looking or bothering to find where it should be!! They tried to walk off but I said I am not satisfied until we find the shelf where it should be, and I’ve been looking for fifteen minutes. Took all of that to get some help finding one little thing.

Ted Socha: Ever since this Target added self-checkout, they've relied solely on it. At most, they open only one regular checkout line if self-checkout gets long. Better off going to the CVS across the street. 10/7/19 update: this place either needs to solve their self-checkout problem or open up more than one regular cash register

Sade Wilson: I was shopping today at the Washington D.C target store and was purchasing gift for my family I found some nice things and for a really good price. I went to check out and the items were ringing up different from what the price was upstairs I explained to the cashier he called for a manager. The manager name tiffany came and refuse to change the price the for two of the items but change it for the other too items. I continue checking out because I didn’t want to wait to long after I was done checking out I went upstairs to take pictures to show the manger she still refuse and walk away.

Donna Walker: Buyers we aware the prices in Target are going up every week and its terrible and make sure you know the prices of your items because the shelf price and the register price can be different at times. Security was following me for no reason so I had t let him know you are following the wrong person. I catch more people stealing at Target and I do not work there. Also, some of the employees are so rude. I will be recording my conversations with the employees when I need to ask for help as proof of how rude some of them can be.

Sassy Sauce: This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. There is parking under the store and it’s accessible using the escalators or elevator. There is a Starbucks as well. It’s a great store to visit!

Amreen Shafiuddin: poorly managed target.. no one knew answers for anything. customer service was poor. stocking issues in all the aisles. boxes everywhere.. the food items especially bread section don’t have best before stickers on them. when questioned, they just saw each other faces. poorly managed.

Tracie: Pros: Near my home. New store. Available parking structure. Decent customer service. By decent i mean - I haven't had a negative experience with the customer but no one has gone above and beyond helping me. Cons: Generally feels empty. Yet every time I enter the store i notice staff are in the middle of restocking and have crates of things in the middle of the hallways blocking the pass way. This was even before covid so not sure whats going on (pictures shown from Dec 2021). Also, doesn't appear to be a parking attendant so anytime anyone lost their ticket, their is chaos trying to get out. Finally, prices seem a little higher than other targets, i get the sense that because its smaller things are limited and maybe marked up? Or maybe its just inflation and the whole food chain/ports being a hot mess.

Mysiki X Valentine: Whoa! Let me begin on a positive. There is a cashier (older Black woman) Joan, who is the most pleasant staff worker. However, the younger staff can often be found tucked away on phones, having side conversation and etc..so finding help is always difficult. In addition, the customer service could never be described as friendly. But it does not end there, this is one of the worst Target’s I’ve ever went shopping. The store shelves stay empty. I recently order Beats headphones online for pick-up, I was emailed saying my order was ready—but when I got to the store the manager cancelled my order, stating the item was not in the store. Long behold, I walked to the back and there sat 3) pairs of the same item I came to pick-up. Her attitude was out of this world, I couldn’t believe she worked in customer service. No matter what time of the day, the aisles have carts full of products yet to be put away. Makes the store seem chaotic and disorganized. If it’s a quick stop, I’d advise going elsewhere. Looking to do serious shopping, never stop here. To end on a positive the food section is normally well stocked and presented nicely.

Kareem Carter: Lets start by saying I am appreciative of having a Target in this area of DC. The parking facility is safe and well lit, the store was reasonably stocked and clean. My gripe is with the professionalism of the management and the completely ineffective way they run the checkout line. they funneled everyone through one line and when several customers skipped the single line and went straight to the register, they were allowed to do so.....causing frustration to the other customers in the line. This was brought to the lead employees attention and she sarcastically dismissed my frustration. They should really signage up on how the checkout line works!

Erin Truax: I have been to this Target a few times because it is the most convenient for me (and parking is easy) but I always leave feeling very frustrated. There are constantly boxes of inventory waiting to be unpacked that are blocking the aisles and many shelves are often missing product. I have shopped at different times and on different days, but this seems to be on ongoing issue for this location. If you’re able, I recommend a different location.

J Por: Went in for some quick toys for my nieces and nephew. Turned in to their Loss Prevention racially profiling my partner, and followed us around the store the entire time for 60 dollars worth of merchandise, part of which, we had to find an employee to get. We initially went in to make a return, and unfortunately had the idea to shop the last bit of our list. Workers letting people (guy in a blue hoodie was wearing a red shirt so possible employee?) walk around without a mask even though DC has a mandate, and the stores inventory is always in the way. Should have been more concerned following him to give him a mask instead of two people who were in your store less than 25 minutes. Overheard an employee talking about managers asking the team to get tested because of a potential positive employee. Overall, the worst experience I’ve had by far. I’ve been a consistent customer for three years, but no more. This location is best avoided. Trust me.

livingmytruth 2: Joan has the best customer service ever. I came in this location with my 98 year old grandma and she made my grandma feel sooo good and proud and she really has a positive attitude. Thank you for making my grandmother’s shopping experience so pleasant . I will actually make this my home store now because of her pleasant demeanor

Aaron Blackmon: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go to a Walmart that is all red and has Target signs? Well wait no longer! This will fit the bill. The validated parking is a mess. The store is never stocked but simultaneously stocking everything at once and the lines are NEVER open. I only went there after learning my initial lesson months ago because it’s so close and I wanted to get a few things but even still it wasn’t worth it.

Chris Todd: The staff inside the store were friendly and helpful. However, the parking attendant was about as useless as a square wheel. I wanted to recharge my car. The sign in front of the chargers read "See attendant to activate". This dude was just sitting in his car. He refused to get up and wave whatever card he needed to wave to unlock the charging station. He didn't even acknowledge me other than saying "Uh". I tried activating the station with my SemaConnect app, but the station was locked out. I'm sure this Target is great, but I wouldn't come here in an EV because the dude who runs the chargers can't be bothered to get out of his car to do his job.

Kev- keepingitreal: This Walmart offers Capital City Mambo Sauce, Fruits, Vegetables, Seafood, Poultry, Dairy and all sorts of Household Items. This Walmart needs to improve its Elevator services, only two out three of the elevators are working, it would be nice if they removed one of the elevator and replace it with stairs that lead customers from the parking garage to the street level and to Walmart store level for easy access. The current stairs only give customer access from the street level to Walmart store and no access to the parking garage. This Walmart includes a Pharmacy and free two hours of parking in the parking garage. This store has shopping carts available in the store and in the garage areas.

Mirka Mendez: It's Walmart, there are no grocery stores nearby (that I know) so it's an option. Smaller than the usual supercenter, very small produce section. There was an approximately 10 min wait at every registers when I visited.

PaulDavid Morado: Not exactly the best side of town. It is Walmart so all things that go with Walmart come along with this place. It's not close to any Metro station so be prepared for a walk is it on the other side of Chinatown. Excellent place for fruits and vegetables in all things grocery but be prepared also to bring your own bags as there seems to be carts missing

Aminah Imani: Its conveniently located but not the best Walmart to be in. The customers were loud and the security with large bullet proof vests doesn’t make it a welcoming vibe. Grab your products and head out quick. They do validate parking and leave patience for the slow running elevators. The employees were helpful and efficient. This location isn’t my preference but it gets the job done when in dire need.

Sassy Sauce: Mixed experience with this store. It’s a good location and there is parking available in the underground garage. First 2 hours are free. The store has items locked in a case that I couldn’t understand. For example, women’s underwear and some personal hygiene items. Also, the store wasn’t too crowded while I was there and the associate I asked to help me gave me clear directions as to what aisle the product I needed would on. The parts of the store I visited were clean and the overall shopping experience was ok. No major complaints. Just strange observations about profits being locked behind glass.

C. Zed: Well it exists, that I appreciate. I’ll continue to shop here. The cashiers scan items more than once, has already happened twice for me. The store is small and often too messy. The aisles are narrow, and the carts are way too big for the store. Many items are locked behind cases. Could be a better experience, especially for the closest location to the US Capitol.

Virginia S: Need more employees/cashiers working. These stores rely too heavily on self checkout. Which is fine if you like to DIY but there shouldn't be so little cashiers that you turn the customers into employees and shoppers at the same time. Some people go shopping for the experience of the human interaction they have buying their things, having someone else ring it up is part of the experiences. Stop cutting corners your customers are not happy with it trust me

Van D Peluche: Terrible terrible. Twice I have ordered online groceries and the first time I did not get it until an hour later and the second time I didn’t get it until a day later than the scheduled period. Absolutely awful. Plus no one in any department answers phone calls. And their produce is very poor quality. May as well not even have the grocery delivery service. Will not even notify about orders being held for the next day.

Harriet Saulsbury: Love shopping at Walmart, some of the eorker are rude ask them a question they always say its not my department and walk away. Another thing as many seniors and disable people shopping there on a daily basis you only have maybe 10 electric scooters for the entire store which is a super store but you have maybe only 2 scooters working. You also took away your seating you have in the lobby of the stores where are we supposed to sit and wait on rides and family members to finish shopping?

I emailed JD and he put together an order for me and all I had to do was pay the invoice. Holistic and JD have made it very easy to make a 12 yr old boy super stoked on Christmas morning!! S1972: This place was great! They have a really nice inventory of boards and accessories. The 2 guys that helped us were very nice and extremely helpful. We didn't know exactly what we were looking for a they offered suggestions and definitely pointed in the right direction. They have a lot of different brands of skate sneakers too! Great place!

Tee Jay: Awesome shop. Customer service was on point, I was looking for a specific deck and hit them up on instagram. There's a lot of shops that are great in person but haven't quite mastered the "selling online" part of the modern skate shop game. Holistic definitely has.

Henok Garedew (Henny breezy): It’s okay store, not friendly, staff and management seems don’t care for customer.They have good collections.I prefer not to go this store anymore.

Dianna Cahn: Worst customer service. Dont buy there unless you know exactly what you want. I bought a pair of sneakers for what was admittedly a good price and was told that if I return shoes unworn I will get money back. I tried them at home on carpeting and they were too small. Went back and asked if I could exchange for next size and I also asked if they don't work will I be able to return those for my money back and they said absolutely. Again, never worn. Hurt in my living room on carpeting. When I went to return them, was told their policy is only to give a gift card. they would not give me money back. Gave me a lecture on reading the rules. Manager was exceptionally rude. It's a store culture. Stay away unless you know exactly what you want. There are plenty of other stores that honor their deal with the customer.

Hero H: Great store. You can find some real gems in the back wall clearance section for shoes. However, it's just about always crowded. To the point where it discourages me from even wanting to shop because I know the checkout process will take more time than I've spent looking for items.

S0671 Mamba: Decent size store but if you have the average shoe size for men as myself (10 1/2 or 11) the variety is limited. Good selection for kids or over sized feet.

lakeya jones: Employees were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me download the app which allowed me to receive a discount which was a plus. I even found a semi rare shoe for my child. I will be returning in the very near future.

jess alejo: Good selections and nice military discount. Just be aware can’t combine the military discount and Nike discount app. Got wrong info, guy said, sign up you can combined discount but it is not. Anyway, store manager able to clarify the Nike apps which is SOMETIMES give you discount.

Ty'Ronn Waters Sr: All the good shoes they didn't have in my size 10.5. But good experience not enough people on the floor helping.

Xyco Maniac: Great staff and great products. The back wall (or hash wall) is most of the time always stocked and the aisles are filled with good stuff too. Staff are very nice and the place overall is very clean. The only downsides are the prices aren't always that much discounted (hash wall doesnt always have good prices) and this place still requires masks, but that's okay with me, just something to note. The place itself makes up for any downsides and this place offers returns which is a big plus. Would highly recommend. I make the trip here about every week, driving for 50 minutes and it's well worth it.
