Brothers Sew & Vac: what do users think?

Marcelle M (Traveling Miles): After my huge error in judgement (accidentally vacuuming something up into my hose and compounding the problem by taking it apart and effectively breaking it) I spent a good half day looking for a replacement hose for my Sebo D4. The manufacturer recommended Brothers as an authorized dealer. Since I live about 50 minutes away, Paul first confirmed he had a replacement and then offered to mail it at no additional cost. Problem solved! Fast forward a month and my carpet attachment wasn’t working. I called Paul and discussed the symptoms. He couldn’t diagnose over the phone since it could have been any number of things on my 10 year old machine. This time I made the trip there. Paul knew I had driven far and offered to troubleshoot while I went for a coffee. True to his word, he called and explained which parts were worn out. He offered to fix it immediately and save me an extra trip there another day. He even waived labor costs! Paul, the owner (or one of the owners, not sure) showed me the worn out parts. I completely trust his knowledge and expertise and I also like knowing that I don’t have to send my Sebo to the landfill prematurely. The service provided has been professional and thorough. I highly recommend using Brothers for your repair needs.

Zak Book: Best customer service we have ever experienced! We needed a repair on the hose of our Bissell, and they told us to go grab some lunch and that it would be done by the time we finished. They were right! Took about 30 minutes and they were nothing but kind throughout the entire experience. Please take your business to them!

Maria Moran: Best customer service ever! My husband and I bought a Sebo vacuum from them, and they had competitive pricing. Everything from trying out the vacuum to delivery of the vacuum was absolutely perfect. Thank you Bryan and Paul!!!

Paige Keller: I went into Brothers today because my vacuum was acting up. I was greeted by the brothers who were so incredibly friendly. They quickly diagnosed the problem and told me they could replace both parts right then and there. Less than 10 minutes and $20 later, my vacuum was as good as new. I went to them because of all the amazing reviews I read so I wanted to leave one of my own. I will absolutely be going back next time and would recommend them to anyone!

David Lee: The most professional carpet machine repair men in the area. They helped me fix both of my machines. Very good guys high quality products.
Response: David, So glad that we exceeded your expectations. Thank you so much for your kindness.

TraciS: This business certainly deserves 5 stars. The owner, Paul Morris fixed my Hoover Vacuum cleaner while I waited. I needed new filters and a belt. He also looked at other parts of the vacuum cleaner to make sure there were no other issues. He is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I will not go anywhere else for servicing. I researched him on Yelp and he had all 5 star reviews.
Response: Thank you for your compliment.

Brothers Sew & Vac: what do users think?

Katie C: I had a wonderful experience with the sewing machine repair services here. I got a same - day cleaning and servicing of my Singer machine (which was gifted by my late grandmother). The kind man who helped me ( I wish I had gotten his name!) even gave me a few tips and oiled my walking foot for me when I explained it was squeaking. Quality service, and very kind. I will return here every time I need a sewing machine tune up.

Maddie Gill: Fantastic experience! I brought my sewing machine over because I thought I was experiencing an issue with the motor - turns out, it was my bobbin winder. Within a minute of showing them the problem, they identified where I was going wrong and how to fix it. No charge for the visit, and I walked away learning more in 10 minutes than hours online and on YouTube had been able to teach me. I will 100% come back!

Lara Drizd: Great place. They fixed my 1980s Viking sewing machine overnight and gave me tips on how not to break it again. :) Great customer service. Highly recommend!

B Be: I have a beautiful computerized Brother sewing and embroidery machine that needed to be fixed as I was in the middle of sewing a dress and it died. I immediately looked online and discovered Brothers Sew and Vac here in Cleveland Park. From their great reviews, I decided to check them out. The staff was very friendly and well-versed in what was ailing my sewing machine. They even took some time to educate me on what the inside of my sewing machine looked like and the amount of work and expertise that goes into repairing them, while there during my first visit. You could tell that the staff here love what they do!! I got my machine back within a week or so of diagnosis and it is running like I just bought her!! (Thankfully they did let me know that my sick sewing machine was not a result of user error...just normal wear over time). Thank you for such excellent service! It’s now considered my sewing machine repair hospital now after such a wonderful experience. I don’t go anywhere else.

K Keen: I accidentally sucked up some water in my vacuum and thought it was dead. After letting it dry out, I wanted to test it before buying a whole box of new vacuum bags. The gentleman working tested my vacuum and when it worked, sold me a box of bags at a better price than Amazon! He also fixed my vacuum wheel for free! Great service.

Sew Chic Fabrics and Crafts: what do users think?

Sherry U.: I visited Donna’s shop and was in awe at the fabric selection she has available for purchase. Donna’s store is welcoming, clean, and full of unique items that she has handmade! She was very attentive from the moment I walked in. She even shared that she offers sewing classes! I highly recommend visiting Sew Chic Fabrics and Crafts, In Maryland, if you are looking for someone to create clothes, masks, specialty baskets, and so much more!!
Response: This warms my heart! I am so happy to hear my customers are happy1 I can't wait until you return!

Crystal Glinton-James: I first found Donna on an app called Next Door. She offered sewing classes but I didn’t follow up. Fast forward several years later and she’s now teaching me how to embroider. Donna is patient, excellent at teaching. I recommend her for all your sewing needs!! B
Response: Thank you for this wonderful review! I appreciate your confidence in my small business! I look forward to assisting with your needs for your next project!

Kathleen Butler: My experience with Donna was amazing! I had purchased a maxi dress on Amazon that I wanted to have made into the high-low style. It was also not the greatest quality garment, so I wanted the seams reinforced, as well. Donna was able to accommodate all my requests, even with very little fabric to work with. She worked some kind of magic! Ive never received so many compliments on anything I’ve ever worn before! It was well worth the reasonable amount of money to have the dress of my dreams custom fitted to my body and specifications. Donna was an excellent communicator, responsive and friendly to calls and texts. She was accommodating to my schedule for fitting and pick up appointments. I could not have asked for a better experience! Supporting local, independent woman-owned businesses is important to me, too. Donna has gained a customer for life! Give her a try- I’m certain you’ll be pleased as well as I am. Thanks, Donna!
Response: Thank you so much for trusting me with special day! I look forward to working with you in the future!

Waylon Robinson: Very professional honest knowledgeable and creative. Will definitely be returning to her for all my craft and sewing needs.
Response: It was a complete pleasure to service you.. I look forward to your next project..

Sew Magarbo: what do users think?

Elaine Cahoon: Super cute store! I love that things are curated and they carry full lines of more modern prints like ruby star society. They even started carrying some cute Japanese imports. Fat quarters everywhere. Lots of really nice blenders. Staff/owners were so nice and friendly.

Catherine C: I recently had my Pfaff Sewing Machine serviced at Sew Margarbo. The customer Service was outstanding in every way. I was greeted very professionally. The tune -up was fast and through. The owner explained the service done and shared a few hints. My machine is working as good as the first day I bought it (years ago). The owner is very pleasant, professional. A beautiful shop. I will never take my machine anywhere else. Thank you again for a great experience! Catherine

Lynne Lott: After careful consideration of different sewing machines, I went to Sew Magarbo to check out theirs. It was a very good, low pressure shopping experience. But that is only part of the reason I purchased my machine there. The commitment to the purchaser was very important to me. I want to learn about all the cool features of my machine, and there are ample opportunities for learning at Sew Magarbo. Frequent classes, telephone support if needed, and a "club" for others who purchased the same machine as me were all super benefits. I feel comfortable asking newbie questions, and appreciate getting together with others who love to learn and share.

Michael Ku-DiPietro: I heard about their store through a friend and signed up my sister for a summer class. There was such a variety of fabric to choose from and it was incredibly high quality! The teachers and staff created a welcoming environment and she was always happy when I picked her up at the end of the day. Thank you Sew Magarbo!

LISA RAMOS: I have been a customer of Sew Magarbo for a few years. Their customer service, friendliness and professionalism are outstanding. Imagine my surprise when I read a review stating the manager was "aggressive" while communicating the rules and policies (clearly stated on their website) to a client that was not compliant. I have never heard or seen the manager or any employee speak to anyone in a disrespectful manner. Being firm about rules that protect their customers (especially during COVID) is what I would expect and appreciate as a parent for any child attending camp at Sew Magarbo. Being fully vaccinated and wearing a mask does not give you the right to break the rules. Perhaps you have not read (policies, news, etc) about COVID breakthrough cases being contagious. Entitlement and non compliance of COVID rules shows you have no concern about harming others. I would like to thank Sew Magarbo, its manager and employees for keeping us and our children in a safe environment.

Jeff Spencer: My wife and I have purchased at least 4 machines from Sew Magarbo in the last two and a half years. She is no less than superior in her capacity as a shop owner and manager. We have taken numerous classes from her and her staff as well. She consistently over delivers when she does business with us. This is the best sewing studio and shop in Northern Virginia.

Berger's Sewing Machine, LLC: what do users think?

Ronald Putek: Needed sewing machine repair and tune up Service was quick and very good. Mechanic was knowledgeable and friendly

Robert McGregor: I may just be biased but I saw the great customer service other patrons were given. Great place to go and caring staff!

Joe Friday: Friendly and helpful folks. (I needed machine servicing and repair.) Nice quilting fabric selection a plus and, despite my self- lecture, I ended up buying some great fabrics!

Regina King: Had my two featherweight Singer sewing machines and my Bernina served by Berger over the years. Great services and excellent work. If you didn’t know, this shop also has a selection of quilting material and quilting machines.

Sue L.: Thank you so much, Raymond for making sewing fun again for this “recreational” sewing enthusiast!! I’d forgotten how a well tuned sewing machine is supposed to sound - that there shouldn’t be wild shaking or rattling! I really appreciate your help and responsiveness in taking care of my machine and for replacing the worn parts so quickly! This was my first visit to Berger’s Sewing and I am so glad that I visited because I was able to pick up fabric and supplies for cloth masks with Tina’s help (thank you again for your help, Tina) and have Raymond diagnose and remedy the problems I was having with the machine. Excellent product selection and customer service which are greatly appreciated - it’s no surprise that this family owned business continues to thrive through the years! Plenty of parking and conveniently located in the Historic District, Manassas, VA.
Response: Thanks so much and keep enjoying!👍

Tom G: Fantastic source a baby locks sewing machines. Outstanding expert repair services on all types of sewing machines and vacuum.

Stitch Sew Shop: what do users think?

Julie Norcross: Stitch is an amazing place! I learned how to sew here, from super beginner all the way to advanced classes and jeans making. The selection of fabric and patterns is incredible, and I love the focus on natural fibers. The curation makes it far more enjoyable to shop than larger fabric stores. The staff is always super helpful and kind. I also LOVE how they now offer pattern printing! Makes buying PDF patterns super convenient! I only have rave things to say about Stitch!
Response: Thank you!

Lisa Morton: LOVE Stitch Sew Shop! While I have yet to take a class, they have helped me reignite my passion for garment sewing and embroidery. I love the fact that they are right here in Old Town Alex. Itʻs a fabulous communal concept with lots of high quality fabric, patterns, and notions, and even higher quality people. Itʻs definitely worth a fly-by or more!

C R: Wonderful team and such fun atmosphere. I took two classes with Cristian and he is very knowledgeable, patient and fun to work with. The store is very well organized with a large amount of sewing supplies. Their fabric is very beautiful and very fair priced. It’s a nice experience from the moment you walk through the door until you walk out. I highly recommend the classes, your time and money will be well spent. And you will support a local business rather than big corporations.

Danielle Arthur: I stopped by Stich Sew Shop with a friend. We both had small children with us. The staff was not only super friendly, but also very accommodating. I needed to change my daughter and both ladies in the shop were so kind in helping me find an easy, safe place to do so. Of course, they have a great variety of unbelievably beautiful fabrics, patterns, and notions, too. I highly recommend this adorable shop for both the quality of their products and their service! It was an absolute delight to shop there.

Artemiza Kolacevska: I went on first time ever and saw a cute little scissors pin. The associate was not very helpful when I asked to get one ( didn’t know I could help myself?!?!) and told me that was the lady. Did not offer to sell it to me , so I asked to buy it. Not very happy and pleasant .... a friend told me I should have just walked out. Well, I didn’t and Zi did buy the LAST ( !!!!???) one. But I am NOT ever going back. I did not feel welcomed there. Too bad- such a nice location with unfriendly service.

Julia Klag: This story is a great repository of sewing knowledge, goods and furniture. The staff are very helpful and I found them to be very forthright in their dealins

Shirelle Jones: I was helped the moment I walked in. The guy helping me was super knowledgeable about sewing machines and was able to offer multiple recommendations based on my level and needs. He sat down with me and showed me how it worked and was overall pleasant. I look forward to continuing doing business here and HIGHLY recommend it.

Sun Sew Vac: what do users think?

C D: I took my Singer sewing embroidery machine to this store for service. I paid a $35 deposit. A few days later the owner called me and quoted me $ 247.95 to service it. I had to ask the price twice to make sure I heard correctly. Knowing my machine was not broken, but just needed service I took it to Vacuum Center in Falls Church where the machine was serviced for $ 80 ( + $20 for a new bobbin). Reply to response from owner: my machine was not broken and did not need repair. It needed a tune up. As I explained my surprise when hearing the price the owner reply was that it would cost me more to buy a new machine. When I said I was not going to proceed I was asked to pick the machine within hours because it was in "the way". My machine was fully serviced, cleaned, aligned for $80 by an honest business.
Response: Thank you for taking time to provide feedback. We are sorry you did not have a good experience with us and wanted to take the opportunity to respond to your one star rating of our small business. Our recommended repair on your embroidery machine was to Singer factory standards. It appears you opted to take your machine elsewhere for a “fast repair” to replace a part without a complete service of your machine. There is a difference in the cost of just a quick fix and a complete service. A sewing machine service with us includes: • Evaluate Function Issues Noted Upon Receiving Machine • Adjust Bobbin Tensions • Adjust Upper Tensions • Adjust Stitch Balance • Adjust Check Spring Operation • Adjust Needle Bar & Hook Timing as Needed • Check Thread Cutter (If Applicable) • Check Bobbin Winder & Stop • Check Buttons, Keypad, & Touch Screen (When Applicable) • Check & Correct Any Abnormal Noises • Clean Interior, Exterior of Machine & Check for Damage • Check Sewing Lamps • Check Running Speed • Lubricate (If Applicable) • Adjust Button-Hole Sensor Foot (If Applicable) • Check Needle Threader (If Applicable) • Check Foot Control (If Applicable) • Sew Test Samples (Embroidery If Applicable) It's our responsibility to make sure that all machines are maintained as recommended. The Sewing Machine Dealers Association recommends that each machine should be serviced annually. All repairs are completed by a certified technician and our work has a 1 year warranty on all parts and a 90 day warranty on all labor. We take pride in what we do and have received many accolades over the years in our industry, including SMDA international dealer of the year and our induction into the international SMDA/VDTA hall of fame. We have been described as the best local sewing machine repair shop by the Washington Post and have been covered by the local news station. We hope this clarifies your experience with us and wish you would have come to us so that we had the opportunity to work with you on an agreeable solution. Please let us know if we may be of assistance to you in the future and we wish you the best.

Kathy Utgoff: My experience was fantastic. I wanted to give my daughter an old family Singer sewing machine and Sun Sew Vac restored it beautifully for a very reasonable price. The owner even helped me learn how to use the machine again after 50 years. He created a wonderful family heirloom.
Response: Thank you for the feedback Kathy! We are so happy to hear about your experience with us. Happy sewing !

M Paula Neumann: I have been going to Sun Sew Vac for 30+ years. I have purchased a few vacuum cleaners and a sewing machine there and have had them serviced and repaired over the years. The service has always been professional and timely. The owner recently went out of his way to provide me with a temporary fix for my sewing machine so I could continue to use it while he ordered a part. Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you for your nice words! We truly aim to deliver top notch customer service and it’s customers like you who really make our day. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do.

Lauren Lynch: Family owned business and the only place to go to get a Miele vacuum! I have had Dyson handhelds and the roller ball canister and it just pushed around dirt and dust and was a pain to empty. Growing up my mom had a Miele, and I would volunteer to vacuum. So had to return to that quality of cleaning and went and visited Bob Hines. He asked me about my vacuum needs and walked me through his available products. Even letting me test drive them. Happily walked out (actually he carried it out to my car) with a pretty new canister vacuum. Super happy with the customer service, purchase and will definitely be returning for future purchases! Thank you!
Response: Thanks Lauren! We hope to see you again soon.

Donna Pumphrey: I appreciate every aspect of this business! The owner Robert Hines is very knowledgeable and honest. I’ve been doing business with him for years and can’t imagine going anywhere else. He and his staff are very friendly and professional too. He sells high end products but services all brands out there. Thank you for consistent excellent customer service.
Response: Thank you Donna!

John Halstead: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueTook our vacuum to Sun Sew Vac for a second opinion. They quickly assessed the problem and repaired saving us loads. They take the time to do repairs right. Highly recommend.
Response: Thanks John! We are glad to hear you had a good experience with us.

stacey bertotti: Where do I start? Robert, the owner is honest, upfront and an absolute pleasure to work with! My older Pfaff had some issues and he jumped right in to work on the machine! In addition, we did purchase a new Pfaff and Robert made the process easy and incredibly smooth! I can’t recommend Sun and Sew Vac more! If you’re looking to buy a new sewing machine or just have yours serviced, look no further! This is the best!
Response: Thank you Stacey! Your review made us smile! We are very happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with us and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything else.

A Special Lee Sewing and Craft Cafe: what do users think?

Meaghan Byrne: I was really excited about this class off the bat, and had been looking for someone to help me get beyond the basics, which effectively where I was given that my mother sewed a lot growing up. I was fairly happy with the first class. Antoinette is nice, but strict about how fast folks move through the work. I was coming to this class after a full working week, and was often a little tired, and I felt like I was made to feel bad about this in the second class. I have to say I was quite put off by the third class. I had asked if my boyfriend could sit in the other room and wait while I did the class as we were going to dinner afterward for my birthday (which was that day). Antoinette told me he could wait in my office (which is no where nearby?) and that this class (which I paid for) wasn’t a sewing circle. I hardly think my ask was extreme: he wasn’t going to be doing any sewing. Antoinette calls me during the middle of the work day to discuss, which I was unable to pick up, but never got back to me on the question. I found this behavior a bit bizarre to be honest, and decided I’d rather not spend time in an environment that felt a little hostile. I really wish it had turned out differently as I was excited about it, but I’m a adult and I don’t expect to be treated like a child by a teacher who I have paid good money.
Response: Greetings Meaghan, it is always my intention to give the best sewing experience possible. I am sorry you didn't feel that's what you got. My policy has always been only registered students in the studio, especially during Covid. Take care! All my best, Antoinette

Lauren: I recommend this class to everyone- whether you are looking to pick up a new hobby or are wanting to become someone who sews regularly. I took classes with Antoinette for several months in the beginning of 2021, and it was the most wonderful experience. I am learning to sew with the intent to make my own clothes. During classes with Antoinette, I learned to make 2 garments as well as a pillow and tote bag. Antoinette is an amazing, patient, welcoming, and highly experienced teacher-- I can not recommend her enough!!
Response: Thanks so much Lauren! It was my pleasure. You were an awesome student! Hope to see you again in class. All the best to you!

Izy A: Ms Lee’s class was so fun! The environment is lovely, she is very thorough with her explanations, and made sure to give me space to try to figure out what I could on my own. I’ve never had a sewing class before, and now I’ve made my very own skirt and bag, and I think they came out really cute! I can’t wait to take another class with her. Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you Izy! It was my pleasure teaching you! You were awesome and I like that you were eager to understand on your own. Great job! See you soon.

Nilufar Baratova: I love this wonderful oasis of creativity and fun. Ms. Antoinette is an amazing teacher, courageous entrepreneur and simply a beautiful soul who is passionate about her job. I had zero sewing skills and it is fascinating to see my transformation. I already made cool pillow covers, a cute polka dot skirt and I am working on my dress to impress project. I always look forward to my sewing classes where I can socialize with artistic people who love colors.

Paola Vidal: Took my first class today and most certainly looking forward to come back! The studio has a a great vibe, perfect to feel comfortable to work and learn. Antoinette was very nice, professional and patient. Left feeling very excited and confident about my future projects!

Renela Rucker: So thankful to have found A Special Lee Sewing Studio! I absolutely loved this sewing class. I learned so much about my sewing machine and basic sewing. With Ms. Lee’s guidance and expertise, I was able to leave the Complete Beginners Series with a handmade pillow, tote bag, my very own unique skirt, and a whole new confidence in my ability to create! I looked forward to class every week. She makes the environment very comfortable and inviting and makes sure you know that it’s okay to ask questions. Apart from the class itself, Ms. Lee is a great person. She is open, straight forward, and flexible. She shared more than sewing knowledge with me and I am grateful to have met her! I definitely plan to take more classes in the future!

Elena Butler: Great space and wonderful teacher. Ms Antoinette is attentive, kind and tailors the classes to the students’ needs. See picture of what I made during class.
Response: Thanks Elena. It was a great pleasure teaching you!

Mechanic sewing machine repairs: what do users think?

Rebekah Merkle: Great service. He came to us to fix the sewing machine. The issue was fixed very quickly and now it runs great. Highly recommend! I would definitely call again if I have other issues in the future
Response: Thanks

Sherrette Estes: Yes. I read the poor reviews but wanted to give this business a chance anyway. Why? It was close to my house and I like that it is someone trying to work independently. However, it was a giant waste of time. I called and asked if I could get my sewing machine fixed. He said that I could drop it off after 5, when he would be home from work. I ASKED, “do I need to call you before I come?” He specifically said no. As long as it was after 5pm. So at 5 pm I loaded me, the machine, and my 10 month old baby up and drove over. I arrived at 5:35 and called only to find that he was not at home. His response? “I waited for you but you didn’t come”. Look, I get that people forget things, or things come up, but don’t put the blame on the customer. I was annoyed to say the least and will be taking my business elsewhere.
Response: I understand your anger, it is not my fault, I waited for you, I explained to you that I had to text me first before going to leave your machine at my house, you did not do it, it is not my fault, I work independently in providing service repairs machines industrial sometimes one cannot wait to clients or not arriving on time to our work destination due to traffic

Ber.adette Pilliod: I scheduled a sew machine drop-off appointment for June 27 2020 Saturday. I called june 26 to confirm. I was told Saturday was not good, they were going to the beach. he told me to come sunday. I called sunday ahead before driving 45 minutes. I was told sunday was not good, but I should come Monday. I gave up!!! very unprofessional to string me along like that. I found a repair place elsewhere.

Tracie Moore: Positive: Professionalism, QualityQuick turnaround. Very much appreciated
Response: Thanks

Hinkletown Sewing Machine Shop: what do users think?

Maria V: I’m so happy that I found this sewing shop. They took good care of my long arm quilting machine. They fixed it in two days and the cost was so afordable!!! The other shop that I took it to the day before I found this one told me they couldn’t look at it for six weeks, and couldn’t guarantee that they could fix it, and they even told me I will probably need a new part and that obviously was not true. I certainly will bring all my sewing machines to Hinkletown sewing shop….I don’t mind the 45 minute drive either the country out there is absolutely beautiful!

Elizabeth Bare: I love this place! I bought a serger here and the service was excellent. Prices for the quality are very good. It’s worth a trip. I found their threads reasonably priced as well.

Debbie Field: I travel 1 1/2 hours to get here and it is definitely worth the trip. They are extremely knowledgeable in the products they sell. I bought my first Bernina there a few years ago. The three hour classes they offer are very informative and helpful . I highly recommend taking this especially for a first- time Bernina owner. In addition to the variety of sewing ,quilting, and embroidery machines, they sell beautifully made sewing cabinets that I also purchased . I love it!! The employees are more than happy to assist you with all your questions and you never feel rushed . I am so glad that I discovered this wonderful store with wonderful people. I’ll be back no matter what the price of gas costs!

Connie King: Nice sewing machine shop. Knowledgeable and friendly employees. Many colors of thread, nice selection of sewing needs. Quality Bernina machines. Staff is patient and takes the time to explain machines. They want you to get what you need and not pushy or trying to upsell. Nice selection of used machines. Prices are competitive and they service what they sell.

Hayes Sewing Machine Company: what do users think?

Melissa Forsythe: Just had my sewing machine fixed, and they did an incredible job, it feels like using a brand new machine again. They have a huge selection of anything your little seamstress-heart could desire and the staff are all very warm, helpful and welcoming people.

Lee Hoehn: This is the best place ever to get a Sewing Machine fixed. Mr Hayes does the repairs he has been doing it for over 54 years he sure knows his stuff. They have a wealth of parts for newer and older machines. He will even look at your machine for free , if you bring it in, and give you an idea what is wrong with it and how much it will cost to fix (Almost unheard of-most repair people want to charge just to look at it). The store is neat well stocked with new machines, parts and A great selecion of fabrics for quilters.

Lindsey McClain: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueFrom the first time I walked in the door, they were warm and helpful and obviously love seeing people find a passion for sewing. The owner takes the time to start a conversation. I love this shop.

Katie Marie: Wonderful shop and people there! I had a sewing emergency and needed to finish something before I could get my machine repaired. They were so nice as to let me use a machine in the store the day I dropped off my machine for repair so that I could finish a project. You can tell that they actually care about the customers and take pride in everything they sell and offer in the store. Sewing machine repair was quick, and I am already signed up to take a class here because I had such a great experience with the service. Highly recommended!

Diane Kinney: Nice people. Low pressure experience buying my new Baby Lock Accolade Serger. Answered all my questions, let me know promptly when the shipment came in.

Ardean Phillips: Hayes is always helpful. They have a thorough knowledge of the machines and have always been able to repair my machines. I even trust my featherweight , Lizzy , with them. They give classes that teach you all the little stitches that your machine will do. They have even helped me repair my machine over the phone.

Jeff's Sewing & Vacuum: what do users think?

janine kurkowski: This was the first time using their vacuum repair services. I loved the mom-and-pop feel of the store. Excellent service. Quick, professional, and prices are very reasonable. I am not a sewer, sadly, but those that are it appears to have a significant variation to select from and classes from what it looked like. I 100% recommend this store and plan to support this local business in the future.

Brian Germann: They were very helpful! Their is much larger than what is present on the website. Helped me find perfect sewing machine for my daughter.

jennie murphy: My husband bought me a Janome DC 2011 in 2011. I am very impressed with the machine. The only time that I had to do is order a new needle plate. It was very reasonable. They are great people to buy from. I am very happy that they had ordered it for me. This corona-virus has had me busy making masks..........Thank you Jeff’s Sewing Center 👍☺️

Augusta Sewing Center: what do users think?

Mary Jo Middleton Williams: Took in my BERNINA 770 sewing machine for an update and cleaning. Thank you for repairing it in record time!

Billie Ann Stewart: I want to give a shout out for the great support I got!! Meg and Vivian went above and beyond what they had to do for me! I am not a computer person and they were more than patient with me! Thank you so much! I will not forget all your help and will always sing your praises!!❤️❤️

Debra Jones: I took my sewing machine to get serviced. Drop off was fast. Quilting and embroidery classes are offered

Juan Lopez: Great service and very pleasant to deal with.

Kara Swancy: ASC is the only place around that not only sells Bernina and Babylock but they also service them in house. Their quilting cotton selection is top notch and they run sales more often than not. I highly recommend this store for both the beginner sewing and professional alike.

Nancy Fezler: I was in dire need of immediate service of my Bernina or needed to purchase a new one. I checked the hours of Augusta Sewing Center, also called them and was advised of their closing time. All said 4:00pm. Upon arrival in their parking lot today at 3:10pm. a little man inside the store, ran from the back of the store to the front door and locked it. Then he just as quickly disappeared. I tried to call from my car but there was no answer. Is this your example of good customer service??? I am new to the area and trusted the information I read about Augusta Sewing Center. They are wrong! You have lost a very good customer! Pathetic way to conduct business. I am due for at least one new machine but will not be purchasing here. I will not do business with a shop that has so little regard for people. Shame on you!!
Response: Hello Nancy - Thank you for reaching out. I am very sorry about your negative experience at ASC and I would like to learn more about your specific situation and make things right. If you wouldn't mind emailing me so we can set up at a time to talk. I can be reached at Nick@AugustaSewing.com. I am very concerned about your experience. We never lock the doors (we have two entrances) during business hours and I don't know who might have locked the door or why? I also show on the timestamp of our POS that we had 5 transactions between 3:10 and 4pm on Saturday, May 30th. We lock our door after the close of every business day and take 1-2 hours to deep clean and sanitize. Once we start our sanitizing procedures we can't open the door or let any customers into the store and we don't answer the phone. We are vigilant about cleaning and sanitizing and reducing the spread of Covid-19. We follow all local and CDC guidelines and recommendations. Thank you so much for your review, please know that I am taking this seriously and I would welcome more details so I can make sure that no one else has this experience. Again, I apologize.

Alva Bussey: I purchased a brand new Baby Lock Sewing Machine for $99. It is not the fancy-schmancy one, but it sews like a dream. They nice young lady showed me how to operate the sewing machine before I left the store.
Response: We hope you enjoy sewing on your new sewing machine! If you need anything else or have questions about your machine please let us know!

Hooven Sewing Machine Co: what do users think?

Beth Coxon: Love this store! They have the best customer service. I have been very impressed with their knowledge on the machines and sewing in general. Their willingness to help and make sure my issue was resolved and that I was satisfied is something rarely seen these days! The only complaint I have is that they are too far away. I wish I were closer.
Response: Thank you for your past review Beth! We appreciate your business!

Janice Kondilas: I don’t usually write reviews, but the lady I spoke to on the phone (sorry forgot your name) was so kind & helpful I just had to thank her publicly. I was having trouble with my machine jamming up underneath when I would try to sew. I tried a few things on my own but nothing worked ! Instead of telling me to bring it in she gave me some tips over the phone to get it working saving me the cost $ of bringing it in. I got it going again THANKS to her. I didn’t think you could get that kind of caring customer service any more. Would not hesitate to patronize this business. Thanks again ❣️
Response: Thank you for your past review Janice! We appreciate your business!

Leah Stewart: I have taken old machines for repair and purchased a new machine here. I took some lessons and am always impressed with Diane’s knowledge. Very helpful and honest, caring people. My favorite go to sewing place! Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you for your past review Leah! We appreciate your business!

Heather Z: I just spoke with a lovely person over the phone about seeing if they could fix my machine (not a baby lock). She asked me questions about the machine to see if she could still possibly help me. Got the machine to work. But she was able to also answer my questions about a baby lock that I was interested in. Very helpful and very caring over the phone
Response: Thank you for your past review Heather! We appreciate your business!

Kathleen Ostrowski: Diane and Butch are the best. I took a very old machine to the shop for repair. Diane repaired it without fee, ordered the needles and gave me an instruction book. This is the best place for repairs. Even though I live an hour away, I will make the trip. Thank you.
Response: Thank you for your past review Kathleen! We appreciate your business!

Samatra Johnson: I found this place and Diane because I was making masks for patients in the VA. I have been almost everyday since I found it. Diane is very knowledgeable and helpful. The customer service is A1 and at a time when sewing supplies in general are scarce they have had almost everything I’ve needed.
Response: Thank you for your past review Samatra! We appreciate your business!

L L Hill: I thought my sewing machine was broken. I called, Diane said bring it in we will look at it. Needless to say, it was "in between the ears error". I enjoyed their company so much I signed up for a sewing project with them. They are excellent teachers and supporters!!!! I plan to do more projects. Thank you ladies especially Chris... I love my bag!!!
Response: Thank you for your past review! We appreciate your business!

Sonia Skolnick: The gentleman that answered the phone suggested that I tweak one screw on my serger to get it to stop dropping stitches. It worked! That saved me $80- $150 that other shops were asking to look at it and fix it! His knowledge and courtesy in just making the suggestion and not looking for $ makes me want to take all of my machines to him and recommend him to others!
Response: Thank you for your past review Sonia! We appreciate your business!

Robert Hullihen: Customer serviceIs excellent
Response: Thank you Robert! We appreciate your business!

Crisanne Pyne: How about actually opening the door. It’s hard to shop in a store that’s locked up.
