Safeway: what do users think?

Kevin W: Absolutely Horrible grocery pickup customer service ive ever encountered. On Friday, 04/22/2022 I came to pick up an order for pick up. I called the number 7 times and there was no answer. After waiting over 20 mins I then walked in the store and spoke to someone at customer service and told them about the issue at hand then someone was able to come and fulfill the order. Upon receiving the order in my trunk, I then checked for the accuracy of the order. Upon confirming everything that was ordered I noticed the watermelon that I ordered was turned over in my trunk. I took that watermelon inside and had to get it switched out. As of today, 04/24/2022 I ran into another issue with my pickup order that was placed earlier today. I drove up to pick up number parking slot number 1. I called the number and then once again there was no answer. I then call my wife and asked her to give the store a call and let them know that I have arrived and what pick up spot I am in. Upon my wife calling at 6:03 pm she was told by a young lady that they do not drop off in the pick up spot and that I needed to go to the loading dock and walk up the dock to receive my groceries that I ordered. This is piss poor customer service and I hope Safeway makes the necessary changes moving forward to work better with their grocery pack up customers.

Margo Vandenbroucke: Always make sure to check expiration dates here! These wraps were bought yesterday (6/5) but expired 5/18. Not the first time either, they just throw the new items on top :) Be especially careful in the bakery section with bread etc., sometimes there’s mold.

David Curtis: Not 24hrs. I had to work late & get groceries otw home. Doors are open, people stocking, so I shop & then get told at the register that they stop running 1am-1:45am to count money. I have to wait 25 minutes to check out. Clerk told me I could shop some more. I should have gone to Giant in Bethesda. Have half a mind to just ditch the cart and go.

Carlos John Camacho: Standard grocery store. I wish they had a larger asian and latino section like some of the other grocery stores around dc, but i guess that comes with the location. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Praiseson Moses: Open 24 hrs...So convenient for buying birthday cakes at the last moment😄...

Safeway: what do users think?

Elena Christinne: Affordable prices. Lots of options on the deli section. For a visitor is a great location to grab and go some breakfast or lunch.

Dave Schubert: Nice upscale store. Nicer than their other stores. Be sure parking stub gets validated correctly if you are in the basement garage. Scanner issues for me ... I had to go back to avoid $15 requested at the gate.

Khalil Abrams: The second lady at the deli was getting so agitated by me questioning that the .25 lb of grilled vegetables was not equal to the 2lb label other lady put on my container. Weird right? Then she tried to justify it by looking at the unit price of 1.77 per lb and stating that’s how much it weighs. Mind you there is only a quarter pound of vegetables in the container. Again, it just goes to how people can be untrained and be on the verge of a mental breakdown instead of listening to a customer. I called the store beforehand and got a dial tone the first go round and the second time around, I explained to customer service person that the situation and she takes my container over to the deli and I guess she was confused as to what the issue because the label on the small container clearly shows 2 lbs. Thus, the deli person becomes startled and wanted to basically yell at me for coming to them with a correctable issue. Food bar looked dilapidated with chicken fingers looking that sat for over 5+ hours. The best part is I overhead them say that two other deli employees called out that day. I wonder why?

Loren Stanford: This place is disgusting and apathetic. While in line checking out, with jazz music playing on a speaker, I observed a woman walk past me with a dog on a leash and proceed around open food to go to Starbucks. The problem is the dog was NOT designated as a service animal. To be designated as a service animal, there is training and licensing and the dog is to wear it as a part of them. To leash a dog and “call” it an service animal is rude and disgusting. When I alerted the security guard from Wolf security that he allowed her to enter with a dog around food he looked at me and shook his head. When I went to the front desk to alert the front end manager, her response was we have a sign and once we tell them it has be a service animal and they reply it is one, there’s nothing we can do by law. Umm. No the fact that it does not have appropriate gear deems it not a service dog and it and the person carrying the leash should not be allowed in the store. The fact that they scoffed at me as why do I care shows that they lack any integrity in food safety. This was the deli and salad bar!!! Disgusting, they should be reprimanded and no do without PROPER SERVICE DOG ATTIRE SHOULD ENTER. I’m calling Dcra next to report to them too!

Jonathan Taylor: Meh. Not a bad shop, but never buy vegetables or meat without checking the Sellby date. Bonus tip: check the wine shelves for hidden gems. A 6 bottle purchase with membership unlocks an extra discount.

gaetan spurgin: Close to the wharf, its a safeway.... so real in your expectations.... Artea seems like it would be better served with a whole foods, but this thrifty store is an easy walk from the wharf and a good place to pick up essentials if your staying in town

Safeway: what do users think?

Elyse Horvath: I was rather pleasantly surprised by this Safeway! Normally I’m rather unimpressed and avoid Safeway but this location absolutely blew me away they have a neat salad bar thing they have popcorn stand made in house they have sushi and of all things a poutine bar! There meat section is wonderful too they have dry aged meats and a wide selection of plant based meat options intact they have a cooler dedicated to plant based meat options AND they have a good variety of wines and beer as far as grocery store in the district are including a wine cellar! This store was super clean for the hour I went in at (after 10pm) and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the bathrooms here were with marble like tiles in the bathroom and these bathrooms weren’t trash like most Safeway bathrooms I’ve used

Olivia Allen: I grew up shopping at the original store. Since the new store opened, it brings back sweet memories of growing up shopping at this same location. I love the new additions, especially all the quick meals for lunch and dinner. The store is clean and well stocked. The staff members are knowledgeable and friendly.

Ed Rogers: My first impression is the size of this Safeway. A very good mix of items and the underground parking is plus. My new favorite grocery store. No longer will I have to travel outside city.

Mary Evans: A very well lit and spacious garage. The store was large with a large selection. Employees were friendly and very helpful. There were lots of smiling faces.

Janice Corbett: Safeway was great, shout out to "D" in the Deli area. Excellent customer service. The visit at the pharmacy was great as well. Kudos 14th Street SE Safeway 👍

Lord “Noturavgnewyorker” Walters: This may be the best supermarket I ever been to, fully stocked, epic customer service, incredible ambiance. Keep up the good work

Helen Hatcher: Not happy with the delivery express on this trip to the store, I got a 1/2lb of Havarti Cheese @ 12.99 lb and the young man that serviced me was unattended, the cheese was not separated by single sheet of paper but clump together and going every which way, the person was so busy on his phone, This is and is not an isolated situation, Ms.. Evelyn and Ms.Towanda do there work very well and I usually wait on them when I know they are there.

Renita Lake: The worst Safeway in the city in terms of product quality and freshness. The workers are kind of surly, too, on the whole. Stay away.

Safeway: what do users think?

G C: Interesting, in city, miniature, Safeway. The employees are friendly, the self checkout is clean and quick, the store is amazingly well laid out. Even though less than half the size of the usual store I found all I needed, fast.

Sunni Ting: Stocking is okay. It’s not uncommon for a particular item that I am looking for to be out of stock, but it’s also not chronic. Hours are convenient. Unfortunately, I feel that some cashiers can be incredibly rude depending on their mood. I’m in my 30s (f/Asian), but the way they have spoken to me on several occasions is as if they were a teacher and I were a misbehaving high school student (e.g., reprimanding me for not putting items very specifically where they thought I should during self check-out even though I put them in a designated weighing area and I purposely avoid the back area because I don’t want to forget them; being nasty when I had a question about a coupon and openly complaining that I was making more work for them, arguing the coupon didn’t apply when it clearly did, and saying I was holding up the line when the store was not busy and had many other checkout lanes and self-checkout stations open(Ana)). I have also had perfectly nice cashiers, but the multiple instances of rude and boarder-line demeaning behavior make me weary during check-out, and I avoid the store if I can buy what I am looking for elsewhere.

Alani Willis: Goodafternoon everyone it is 4/25/22 i gave this business a 5 based on one person and her name is Charmaine. Kudos for your wonderful customer service and your attention to my needs because at that time YOU were going in another direction in the store however I Apologized for interrupting you, you rushed right over and helped me OUT! (I am the 1 that needed the buttermilk) but I wanted to say you to me are a great asset to this Safeway and kudos for the people that may encounter you everyday. THANK YOU, Alani

Andy Garrett: Small but convenient which you pay a premium for some things. Did not have a bakery or other amenities. Clean and well stocked.

Kevin McDonnell: This is the worst Safeway I have ever been to. You do not want to complain about anything as your concerns will be dismissed and you will be accosted by the management and employees. After waiting for one to appear, I asked the deli worker if they had imported Swiss cheese - the worker had to bring in a co-worker to translate my question. I never got an answer to my question. When I asked for thin slices separated by paper, I was handed a mess of paper with completely inconsistently cut slices which were thick at one end shaved off into paper thin at the other end. And that was after I physically demonstrated how I would like them stacked. The worker then proceeded to have a conversation in another language with Jorge about something obviously funny to them both. When another apparent deli worker came to the counter he expressed his indignation that I should be dissatisfied and proceeded to instruct me how to express my dissatisfaction. He then summoned a so-called manager who instructed the deli workers not to service me further and then called the police on me. At no time did I raise my voice, gesticulate in inordinate fashion, swear or grimace. This so-called manager pulled the nuclear option for making a perfectly legitimate complaint. A call to their corporate office resulted in being hung up on, the 1st time and I await a call back from them based on a 2nd call, moments later. I urge anyone reading this to complain vociferously to the management at this location in order to teach them to accept complaints like customer service professionals. The so-called manager in question should NOT be allowed to interact with customers - no one else should have to deal with an experience like that. The deli worker should be able to speak fluent English and co-workers should be taught to mind their own business, not take sides and not to eyeball customers in a menacing way. After leaving the store, one employee came out to stand with an associate from the liquor store across the street and talked about how he would don sunglasses and use a machete to "take care" of the incident. Wonderful hiring practices, Safeway - you really nailed it at this location - NOT!

Nick B: This store is nicknamed the soviet Safeway for a reason. They simply don’t seem to restock the shelves during the day, often leaving the shelves empty. It is not uncommon for me to run to the store looking for a few things and end up walking out with none of them.

pablo menz: The place is really pack with everything like others Safeway even although is smaller, my only issue in my visit it was the heat, this locatiosn is extremely cold! I was able to see the steam of my breath it was nuts! I saw the cashier shacking while goving me the receipt, I hope the do something about it.

Safeway: what do users think?

Your Helpful Wendy: I like how they have a big variety of products and also they have their own brand which was cheaper than the regular ones. Everyone working here is amazing and this location of safeway also has a Starbucks in it. You can ask customer service for the Safeway card and this way you can get extra offers and good deals.

Aida Willis: The music will make you want to dance and the staff are humble and friendly.

Naomi Rich: Update: I did as Safeway commented, which was just for show. The only feedback from contacting them via their website was the generic auto reply. Worst Safeway I’ve been to in any state. Worst customer service, poor/no attention to COVID cleanliness throughout the pandemic, and ALL staff I’ve interacted with at checkout act as if scanning your groceries are a burden. Sorry if Safeway treats your horribly, they charge enough to pay you more. If you have any issues or questions, you will never be helped and will actually be made to feel like a problem. A manager literally got upset for me commenting that my Safeway card didn’t work. I truly wish this wasn’t the closest market, when I can I walk two miles to avoid it.

Isabel Moris: Attempted to do grocery pickup at this location because of COVID; the phone for pickup was going straight to voicemail (it had not been set up properly). Attendants did not provide good service 1.they asked us to go inside to the main checkout area 2. they did not let us finish saying what we needed before instructing us to walk to another spot in the store If you can choose another location. If you are COVID conscious or need extra assistance this is not the store for you.

Mary Lewis: The fact that I waited in the customer service line for 30 minutes today? With no one at the counter?? Is just the tip of the iceberg for the horrible service that’s always being shared at this location! A COMPLETE HORROR ! This is not the first time! I called the store 3 times and being disconnected and hung up on! …. The drive up and go persons were soooooooooo busy with Drive up and go that they couldn’t even answer a question for me! The person at self checkout also Walked passed me as if I was never there! Thank GOD when the manager finally came? She was polite and courteous! No one paged her! They let me stand at the counter for 30 entire minutes!….this is my second unsatisfactory experience here! The first time I complained I never got a call from A leader on store level or a District leader! City vista? At this point? Hechinger mall and Minn Ave are delivering a better experience than you al! And we allllllll know how ratchet those stores are! Hopefully this feedback helps front end service to improve because professionalism, morale, and common humanity lack big time in this HORROR of a store

It severely limited my shopping experience to a couple of bowls of fruit. Sadly, this facility has greatly deteriorated over the years. I do not plan to return.

Lanora Weekly: Nice and clean they keep the lines down cashiers very friendly

Narayan Kharel: Check out is a bit slow there, although a good place for grocery

JJ Hersh: Decently well stocked with fair prices, but they seem to have gotten rid of their entire kosher section and no employee I asked seemed to have even heard of the word kosher. There was no explanation as to why the sign at the end of one of the aisles still says kosher and no acknowledgement that there had ever been a kosher section from anyone I asked.

Adalberto Santiago: Safeway is one of the best grocery store around here all the products are fresh and all the employees always are respectful and polite.

Matthew Lawlis: Although it is much smaller with less products than the nearby Harris Teeter, this Safeway is possibly a better place to shop. The prices are not as inflated and it has everything that you would want from a grocery store. Unless you have specific needs, shop here if money is an issue. Its clean, friendly, and the lines move quickly.

Ben Hartmann: Always understaffed and understocked. They remove all the meats from the shelves after a certain hour or something. Not worth going to, especially when there are other options nearby that are both nicer and cheaper.

Lisa Gilmore: Tye went out of her way during her break to customize a birthday cheesecake for me. Much appreciated.

Gyongyi Olah: Great staff, fresh products, clean place. Try the sourdough bagett!

Safeway: what do users think?

Michele Peyton: We’d. June 1, I put in an order at your bakery with a male employee in the morning about 8ish AM. I said I wanted a 1/2 sheet cake with butter crème icing; purple cake border with a purple large center in the center of the cake. Centered in the middle of the cake I wanted written Community and the word Day centered under the word Community. I needed the cake ready by noon Friday, June the 4th. I called the bakery on Friday, June 4 early around 11:10 am to check on the cake progress and to see if it maybe ready. If it was ready early, I had a person to go with me to carry the cake because I couldn’t because I walk with a cane. The cake was for a Community Day event held at the Dorothy Height library for families, friends and children. When I called the bakery, I was told that NO cake order was put in. The lady I spoke with on Friday, June 4, said she would try to get one ready. I have never encountered this unprofessional, horrible customer service from a Safeway. I’ll try my best to never again shop at the 40th Street Safeway.

Laveria Whitby: Very good experience at the Safeway nice and clean employee was very respectful to me and my friend and help me thank you

Velvet M: I’ve got a project in Anacostia Rd SE and was desperate to find a coffee shop and then the grocery store. Boy I tell ya, did I ever find one. It’s pathetic and sad, the differences in appearance, merchandise availability, and customer care from store to store, in particular: SAFEWAY 322 40th St SE. Don’t expect much from these store reps; whether manager or peon, they’re oblivious to their customers and only focus on their handheld devices. This concern includes their onsite security officer; he was on his phone my 5 visits. Drug transactions carried out near the double door entrances, the never ending check out lines with only 2 or 3 tills available. I asked for the “self-service” kiosk, the store rep looked like I asked to borrow a $100 bucks. Haven’t the Managers/ District Mngrs/ Regional Mngrs seen their store’s paltry and sad conditions or read reviews?! Good grief BFolx, have some pride in yourself, community and please don’t say the “man’s holding you back”. I didn’t see nary a one “man”near there. There are no grocery stores nearby, no coffee shops nearby. A bleak and desolate neighbourhood. Full service grocery stores with friendly reps, fresh produce and stocked shelves are across the bridge SE, where I used to live - Eastern Market PENN Ave/ 8th SE-, it’s a shame. I’ll say this, deep SE is struggling to holdout against gentrification but it’s on the horizon. As soon as you spot one jogger at 6pm, it’s a wrap. On one hand I’m sad about the eradication of BP from our own neighbourhoods but on the other, there’s nothing sacred to BP so Gentrification it is. Now let me get up out of here before I become a stray bullet statistic.

Wendy Waxler: The was halfway empty due to the inflation rate. I know that they are trying their best, but can they do? Most stores are in the same situation.

Harish Srinivasan: Good store, nice selections, Membership is free and gets significant savings. Checkout line can be a bit slow sometimes.

THE DARK SKIN GIRL SLAMMING STUFF AROUND AS SHE IS CLEANING AND MAKING ALL TYPES OF GROANS WHEN PEOPLE NEEDED HELP AT SELF CHECKOUT. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ANGELA! SHE IS SO RUDE! I NEEDED CASH BACK AND THE MACHINE DIDNT GIVE IT BACK AND SHE ACTED AS IF I WAS HER WORST ENEMY. SHE WAS SO MEAN TO ME. IM PREGNANT AND I HAD MY ONE YEAR OLD SON WHILE SHE WAS ACTING LIKE AN ÄSS. WE WERE SCARED FOR OUR SAFETY! SHE CONTINUED TO BE SO RUDE I HAD TO WALK OUT WITHOUT MY CASH BACK AND SHE STARTED YELLING AT ME ACROSS THE STORE BECAUSE SHE HAD THE MONEY THE WHOLE TIME AND CONTINUED TO BE DISRESPECTFUL. WHOEVER HIRED HER NEED TO RETHINK THAT. HER WORK ETHIC MIGHT BE GOOD BUT SHE IS AN ÄSSHOLE AND I HOPE SOMEONE MATCH HER MOUTH AND GIVE HER A TASTE OF HER MEDICINE. I WASNT GOING TO ARGUE BECAUSE MY CHILD WAS PRESENT AND IM PREGNANT.

Kenneth Kiser: I always love having to get my groceries from this Safeway store. Its clean and stocked up fresh in every department.

Jacob Vassalotti: Store is clean and well-stocked. Great deals and rewards with the Safeway app. Sometimes lines are long but staff is friendly, and one of the managers is super helpful whenever I need help using a Safeway digital gift card. Just check the expiration date on everything you buy.

--: Caution, this bakery sells old stale cakes. Read the label before you purchase. Yesterday, February 6th, I picked up a chocolate cake in their bakery which appeared to be fresh. We served the cake at home and it was tough and very difficult to cut... then looked at the label and saw that was "packed" on January 21 which was 16 days earlier....ancient in cake time.

Harriet Saulsbury: It was quick and fast the dr. Was very friendly when giving me my covid booster shot.

Kev- keepingitreal: They offer a verity of frozen Food, Dairy Products, Fruits, Vegetables, Baked Goods, Prepared Food, Beer, Wine, Starbucks, SunTrust Bank and a Pharmacy. The parking lot needs to be repaired with more spaces between each vehicle, the parking spaces is too small.

Sam Odle: I’ve updated this review several times and it’s gone between 4 and 1 star depending on the day. Overall, some great employees here. Sometimes the lines get incredibly long. Compared to the location only a mile south on D street, this one doesn’t stack up well.

treshauna gilbert: I got a pumpkin spice frap from Starbucks and it did not taste the same as when I get it from other Starbucks. The lady that was the cashier didn’t even greet me when i first walked up I had to greet her . Then she almost didn’t remember to say the special things I wanted in my drink to the lady that was making it . The drink is disgusting & the customer service is trash . I would not ever recommend this Starbucks to anyone I would rather go all the way across town then come here

James Simmons: Well I work here as a security guard, my lunch break is the best time for me because the hot food especially the chicken is better than Popeyes if you ask me and the price is even better.

sandy Morgan: This is the Safeway of last resort. Never enough cashiers. Do not visit around the first of the month. The better one is the one off of 14th Street SE

April Che'rron: I have never in my life been to a grocery store and they didn’t have any carts at all when I walked to ask someone where the cars were located they told me You got a wait and catch somebody with one like wth I ended up going to the giant…… DO BETTER

Safeway: what do users think?

Mary Thomas: I have witnessed a significant improvement and experience at the store over the last year. Major renovations have been completed and at least two underway for - Starbucks and the floral section of the store. From my perspective, the produce section has a quality selection, as do meats and seafood. The manager and store staff are doing a great job, making major progress, and for these actions --I applaud them.

JG Gilpatric: Pharmacy is a disaster. You could get better service from someone selling pharmaceuticals out of the trunk of their car in the parking lot. Specifics: 1. If this pharmacy says they’ll contact your healthcare provider about a refill: check. And check again. Check again. Best to physically go to your MD, get the paper, deliver it to this pharmacy. See 3. 2. Customers who wait their turn in line should expect to wait while the counter person addresses questions/conversations/issues from store customers previously served or walking by. Pro tip: feel free to ask questions/make conversation regardless if there’s a customer at the register. 3. Common medications may be unavailable at this pharmacy. Best to ask for refills weeks in advance. This will enable the pharmacy to tell you it’s too early for a refill. Waiting 3-4 days before your prescription runs out will allow this pharmacy to tell you they need to order it. 4. If vaccines are being administered, try your attempt to get a prescription filled another day. Ditto if the pharmacist is on the phone, looking at a computer monitor, sitting or wearing anything blue or white.

Esperanza Agnew: This is my go to grocery store for quick shopping in the area. They are generally well-stocked with decent customer service. I really like the new design of the store, especially the improvements to the produce section and the increased availability of organic and plant-based options. Yay! I do hope they continue to grow these options as I would do more of my major shopping here if they did.

DAVID DELEON: Went to get my second booster, and it was fast quick, and easy. The physician was very very nice.

DiggyDoc: Their chicken is solid.....but the bathrooms are janky 81% of the time I visit during work...... The paper towels be skimp and its always a toilet out of order.......and its jive unkeep during peak hours

Gwendolyn Chadwick: This Store has really stepped up their appearance with the new layout and renovations. It really makes shopping exciting for me besides the sales and bargains.

Safeway: what do users think?

Sheri I.: I have been going to this safeway since I was 10. I ordered a full sheet cake for my instructors birthday. My directions were rainbow pretty and fun. The baker and whoever decorated (Francisco?) nailed it. My instructor was so happy and refused to cut the cake until all the other teachers came to see it. The staff at this location are awesome. Super helpful and always working hard. :) Thank you

Joel Spangler: I actually stumbled upon this grocery store on my way home from work. My usual store is located a few miles up Georgia Avenue en Petworth, but I had forgotten to go there earlier to pick up some things to take home. Luckily I remembered what I needed as I drive past here. I went on in and picked up some milk, a bag of oranges, and some bananas as well. I also got three cans of tuna, because this will be my dinner tonight. While I was walking through the isles I noticed that everything was clean, and the shelves appeared to be well-stocked. I even got help from an employee who gave me directions to the restroom that is located in the back of the store. So all-in-all a quick first time experience at this grocery store, and no issues to report here. The checkout process was routine, and fairly quick. Also the parking situation was easy and there more than enough spaces when I arrived.

Erica Jean Belle: Seriously gross!! I went to pick up some groceries on Mother’s Day and when shopping I noticed they had a few things the expired in April on the shelves still. So I skipped over those items I end up purchasing these meatballs only to open them up in to see how moldy they were. I try to prepare them only an hour after purchase but clearly cannot serve this for Mother’s Day dinner. I return them and get my money back but the staff do not seem to be concerned about the molding meatballs and did not go and check the other meatballs.

Denise W: A combination farm store, bakery and nursery with pick your own. Got a baked good and soft serve to enjoy while we look at the plants. Its late for some things but we got peppers and basil plants along with an unusual almost black dahlia. Pick your own strawberries was happening but we got there at the hottest time of the day. A nice puting from DC .

Peter Gannon: Shout-out to Larnell who was working the self-checkout late last night, he had a great attitude and went above and beyond to help me (while keeping things moving for other customers too). Just wanted to give credit where it was due, thanks for being a great neighborhood grocery store!

Gigi Dacis: This one is incredibly dirty...DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM...Just tell you bladder NO unless you like horror movies like SAW!!! They should have it locked until a real looking patron comes through ....

VIRGINIA Parker: I was at Safeway around closing. Clean and stocked. I went in to check them out got some yogurt and 🍌 for breakfast in the morning

Safeway: what do users think?

Helen Mengesha: I like Safeway for the good items but the workers need some ethical training as they are so rude to actual paying customers. Also there are beggars outside this location that are scam artists that Safeway allows them to be there.

李 (LI)展謀 (Jan-Mou): It was a compacted store but having everything I, as a visitor, needed. Good variety of store-made donuts and a nice cashier were more impressive.

Ann A: This Safeway is smaller then the others. Seems to not have a lot of things like the others. But because its down the street (5min walk) I go here for the basic necessity.

Anel Adilbayeva: I live close to this Safeway in Rosslyn. I like doing grocery there but the only reason I don’t want to go there for grocery it’s their staff. Their workers are very rude and not friendly and welcoming.especially two ladies that work there. They need some ethical attitude

Dave Galpern: Recently remodeled, there is now more selections of grocery, produce, bakery and deli, with everything new! Even a new bakery and deli were put in!Bathrooms were even remodeled. Checkout lines much improved with self checkout, no more waiting in long lines!

Kayse Purks: I am the type that rarely goes but when I do I go big. I love the fresh produce, the Strawberries this winter were the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen, and was a little sad that once summer hit the picture perfect strawberries had seemed to be replaced with well ones that were a little sad looking but even so still good because they get depleted rather quickly. Also it’s often painful to see many items completely gone and remain so for quite some time like oddly enough my favorite snack chocolate coated rice cakes. I’ve also noticed some items that are not even sold at this store all together which can be a bummer like, peanut butter Cheerios, cake in a mug, and molasses soft cookies :(. Other than that I like the convenience of many locations, fresh foods, cleanliness, and Im always delighted to see my savings at the end through there rewards program and weekly deals! I would also add that almost all employees are efficient, helpful, friendly, and that I rarely ever wait in long lines or have to to be at check out for long. I am amazed with how knowledgeable, organized and quick the cashiers are and I am never treated as a inconvenience like some other store employees have acted towards me, it’s even refreshing to occasionally we asked how I am and if I found everything ok. It’s safe to say I’m a loyal and long term Safeway shopper. I would recommend Safeway as a great place to shop!

Sam: Constructive feedback: The rotisserie chicken is sometimes undercooked at the thickest part of the breast. Please cook the rotisserie chicken longer and/or hotter. Please check the thick part around the breast wing joint.

sanjiv kumar: Has improved over time. Looks neater and well stocked. Great deals.

Ikea Hagans: I won’t be going back here at all I went to go buy groceries on nov11 here and my fruit was out dated I called and the produce manager told me to bring the fruit back and he will replace it. So fast forward it to yesterday 12/11/21 I went back here to buy $400 worth of food and I was rushing to get home to my baby I did not check what I needed to check. As I was putting my food away I noticed my spam has a small hole in the left-hand corner so I had opened the can to see what was going on and the meat was white and molded my lemons was green. I’m just irritated because I just had a talk with the manager last month and they act like they can’t talk to their employees to make sure we have fresh food. The line for the returns was long A man was returning his Frites and said this was his 4th time in one week returning food. They need to get it together or hire actual people who care about other people health! Or they need a new store manager. Because this is not cutting it

Brad Kirbyson: Staff was friendly and helpful. Good selection and everything seemed fresh. My old safeway card from Canada worked here so i was able to get the members discounts automatically

Deitra Foster, PhD: My daughter wanted to celebrate my sister and I for Mother’s Day but the pretty pink and green cake ruined our special day because it tasted like dirty disgusting rubber band from SpongeBob Underwater restaurant. Very tasteless. Bakery rating should be a ZERO not a one star. It was terrible. I want a refund.

Neil Neil: Oxon Hill Safeway is the Safeway of choice for me for over 42 years. A great place to shop. The employees are polite, helpful and always asking customers if they find what they were looking for.

William McManus: Actually pretty good grocery were easy to find we had a watermelon ring up for 74 dollars lol but it got corrected

Safeway: what do users think?

T Smith: Easy access from Eastbound or Westbound Interstate 66. (Glebe Road and Falls Church/Fairfax Drive). Easy on or off, either direction... Perfect for those who live in the neighborhood as well as those in the suburbs travelling to or from the District. Well stocked and nice polite staff in a relatively safe neighborhood with a parking lot that one can actually get a place to park and exit efficiently. A favorite stop for me, and I suspect that you will like it too..! Enjoy..!

wayne snell: Very nice store with even better employees. A great place to do one stop shopping.

Keith Cramer: There is no enforcement of one way lane markings inside the store. People either do not see or ignore them. In one case, yesterday, a young, male employee escorted a customer the wrong way up an aisle to assist with finding something. Good selection of fresh produce. I was able to find all of the esoteric ingredients for a special salsa I was making.

Jessica Lantz: Like this store, always have. Clean, they have a ton of choices and reasonable prices. They also have a decent selection of organic items! Definitely recommend.

J. P.: I really like this store! I visit late at night because there are so few shoppers then, and I have found the manager, clerks, stockers... EVERYBODY.... to be helpful and friendly. A big plus for me is the organic section, which was expanded after a recent remodeling.

Stephen Harmon: This is my go to store, but I get frustrated by them only having four self-checkout lanes and so many manual checkout lanes that are never manned. Would appreciate converting more to self-checkout.

Safeway: what do users think?

MAC Cover: Well, Safeway was my first grocery store love. Shopped there for years and years. Got to know the people who worked there, very friendly and accommodating. Safeway feels like home. I can always find my favorite foods there both American and international products. I also love their prepared food and deli😋

Jane DelVecchio: The lovely lady who helped me with my balloon purchase today (4/1) may have turned me into a regular Safeway shopper. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name but she was very helpful and fun to work with. She created a beautiful balloon ‘bouquet’ for my granddaughter’s birthday.

Meika Ungricht: This is my preferred grocery store in my neighborhood. Good selection, good quality, nice cheese case and produce. The service is excellent and the store is clean. Decent parking in a covered lot.

Peter Bradshaw: Very large Safeway with lots of parking. Store is clean and well stocked. When I went, registers had minimal lines and self checkout was open. As Safeways go in the area, I think this is the best I’ve been to.

LaKisha Johnson: Parking super excessible and one of the cleanest markets I have seen. Fresh produce and plenty of anything you need options. Very well stocked!

Sebrin Adem: As a local real estate agent, I work in tri- states: DC, Virginia, and Maryland. We have office near by and when I am in the area, I prefer to come here rather than another Safeway because it is very well organized, has a vast selection, and great customer service, as well as easy parking.

Jason myron Johnson: Safeway is getting there chicken from suppliers that leave feathers on the meat and cuts the Chicken improperly, leaving shards of bone throughout the meat

Safeway: what do users think?

IRI LAN: When a customer is still unloading foods from a cart on a conveyor belt, a cashier must ensure it is stopped. It seems not all cashiers at this store understand this. I wish they were professional and polite. There is no rush required, especially after 9 pm. There were only 4 customers in the whole store, including only 2 customers at a cash register.

Charles Sprunt: My Safeway at Sumner off Sagamore road has slowly gotten worse and worse if it was not for a few LONGTIME employees I love like CRYSTAL I WOULD NOT darken their door I now drive to GIANT AT WESTBARD IN BETHESDA MD. PRICES SELECTION SERVICE SPECIALS THOUGHTFUL ITEMS LIKE DAWN DW.LIQUID FOR 1.29 SMALL BOTTLE EXTRA VIRGINOLIVE OIL SMALL BOTTLE PLENTY FOR 1 PERSON FOR A BIT 2.39 SAFEWAY TAKE NOTICE

Justin Webster: Employees are always friendly, the store is clean and well organized, and the goods are always fresh. Plenty of parking on site.

Tom Buckles: Have a good selection, though the ice cream could be a larger selection.

Sol Rivera: Went in today to get some fresh veggies for the super bowl; the produce section looks amazing! Better than before, saw they had a new produce manager. She was so helpful, seems like shes the one responsible for the new makeover !

Jennifer Lee: Over the past 4 years this Safeway store has become a premier store. They borrowed the bakery personnel from the Georgetown store on Wisconsin avenue and everything is wonderful there now of course with the pandemic there are shortages and certain items but overall it is well stocked it is clean and the personnel is wonderful.

Safeway: what do users think?

Beverly Jones-Gibson: Received expedite and friendly service from the gentleman at the deli. Some areas of the store seemed well stocked, while others needed restocking, however, was being restocked while I was there. My check out experience was pleasant. It was extremely crowded.

Rose Schaum: In a place within confined land, everything is historic or a difficult drive .this is amazing! Very convenient on all levels and the parking garage is awesome. I had to drive through tourist and was a little thrown but it was worth it. GPS got me there just fine.

Jon Elle: Always clean and well lit. They do not always have enough staff so there can sometimes be a wait. The lines for self check out have average wait times.

Michelle Durham: Very clean store. Staff very pleasant. Prices were a tad high but did have a large selection.

Safeway: what do users think?

C Hamilton: I love this place my new grocery store clean place friendly and helpful staff I found everything fresh and of great quality people is always on the floor repacking and keeping everything intact. I love the botanical area

Bryce Heyn: Always a fine place for me to go for a scant few items that cost less than Whole Foods

Furhat Ahmed: This store is always clean and stocked well. They have great sales and the parking lot is easy to get in and out of. I recommend this grocery store to everyone

Haley Grooms Kohnert: I shop here all the time but this 5 star review is specifically for the guy in the meat department who went out of his way to help me today. He cut up a beef tenderloin into steaks for me and helped me with a few other purchases. Thank you so much!! You rock!

Elizabeth McGaffey: They had distilled water when no one else did--noy drugstores nor upscale good stores. This is a vital supply for all of us who use CPAPs to help us breathe.

Aja Becker: Joyce is the sweetest cashier ever, brightened my day! Give her a raise!

Kristen Alger: Great selection! Grabbed a few items for a wonderful picnic in the park on a beautiful day!

Vinicius Espindola: It is an excellent grocery store, but I think this facility needs more Asian products.
