    Chris: Giving 2 stars because the truck got from A to B, so that has to be worth something. Picked up truck in AM, guy at the counter was a nice enough guy. Did paperwork inside the office and was given keys and sent on my way. Cab still had food/drinks spilled everywhere and Juul pods laying on the floor. A lot of Juul pods. Noticed the truck tank was on 3/4 full as I pulling out, and was marked on the paperwork for a full tank (have pictures clearly referencing correct mileage/gas meter on 3/4). Called Budget to have them note in the file that it was noted incorrectly, they told me to go back in and talk to the desk. DC streets aren't the most forgiving to reroute your truck back on around the block to go hop back in to dispute gas tanks and cab cleanliness in the middle of a move. At that point I was just happy to have a truck and figured calling Budget was enough (it wasn't). No wiper fluid so had to stop in Maryland/West Virginia to fight the bugs. Always nice to do maintenance on a vehicle that doesn't belong to you. Wipers broke loose in the rain near Columbus, OH, causing another interstate stop (+1 to Budget for new wipers, -1 for not installing correctly). Dropped off truck at location in Wisconsin, was sure to arrive during the times they were listed as OPEN (times may have been limited due to COVID, understandable) so I could speak to a person with Budget. Drop off location was shuttered during open hours, wrote brief note, thought it was fine. Additional charges showed up a couple weeks later. If you need a moving truck in the DC area, you need a moving truck. Budget has moving trucks. Customer service is a bit lacking lately in all sectors where COVID is quick go-to for why things are subpar. Don't expect a ton and you probably won't be disappointed, but don't expect things to go very easily. Again it's just constant little things.

    Alex Wilde: Do NOT rent a truck from this location. Despite reserving a truck 2.5 weeks in advance, they did not have a single truck for me or 3 other customers that morning. On top of that the only option given was to take an Uber at our own expense to Clarendon. What was supposed to be a simple 2 hour mile moved turned into a full day move that involved ubers to and from VA (in a pandemic) and having to pay for insurance in VA that is NOT needed if renting in DC. On top of this the management here is rude and is hands down the worst customer service professionals I have ever dealt with. As of this writing I am still haggling with Budget to get reimbursed for a rental that ended up being 4X what was originally quoted at my time of reservation more than a week later. I would not recommend this location and will not frequent Budget or it's affiliates anymore in the future given how miserable it has been to deal with the locations and the corporate customer service.

    Charles Bailey: just now do NOT choose this company for a long term lease agreement. from terrible service to straight out lies this company has held my business hostage for almost 5 months. they promised a two month delivery on my truck and signed the paperwork and took my $3,500 deposit on may 21st. they said once the check went through the order was in.. I checked back in seeing how things were going and they said everything is fine your truck will be ready in August.. after the deadline and no update I started calling every day and sending out multiple emails. finally someone other than my sales rep told me they never ordered the truck.. I couldn't believe it!!! as a business that depends on truck signage for advertising Penske has been delaying delivery on my truck for months its October 5 and they are 3 months late. my patience is wearing thin and I still dont have my truck.. dont use them!!!! this is a warning ..

    Nathan Cooper: Reserved a 26' truck more than a week in advance. Got a text 30 minutes before scheduled pick up to let me know they didn't have it and I should call a number. Called the number - said someone would call me back in 15-20 minutes or 2 hours. They called me back 1.5 hours later after I had already ridden my bike 5 miles to go pick up another truck. Insanely bad customer service. Use the Penske service at Home Depot nearby. Much easier.

    Brandon Rothhammer: Would give 0 stars if possible. PReserved a truck earlier in the week. Get 5 minutes from the address listed and I got a text saying they wouldn't have a truck available and to call budget customer service. I decided to drive to the location to see if they had a bigger truck, because I literally had to move in a few hours. I get to Reed street and all there is at the address is a crater with construction. Nobody else had a truck available obviously, so canceled and went and got a penske truck who had way better service and gave us a discount for our horror story with budget.

    Mike Garcia: I reserved a truck A week before I was to pick it up and these people had the nerve to text me half an hour before pick up to tell me it wasn’t available . Then when I tried to call to see what was up, no one would answer the phone. Worthless company. Pay a little more and use U-Haul – at least they are always available to deal with customer concerns. Would give them zero stars if it was possible.

    Alec Torres: They texted (no call) 30 minutes before our reservation on the LAST DAY we had our apartment that they overbooked trucks and the nearest truck was in Baltimore. Praise the Lord Penske had a van available and treats its customers like people. Apparently, Budget overbooks every single month, which means that when you hit moving day, you can't actually count on having that truck that you need and that you reserved weeks ago. It's not worth the hassle. Don't use Budget. Pay for another company where you actually get what you paid for.

    Sanja Benak: Horrible experience, will never attempt to use Budget Truck Rental again. We reserved our truck online and got an email confirmation. On the day of our move, we get a text message saying that they don't have a truck available and that they'll notify us when one becomes available. We call and they say that there are no trucks available in any size at any location nearby. They tell us to wait until one is available. About an hour and a half later, we call again, as we have movers waiting and loading dock reserved and everything ready for the move. The person at this location who answers says that there is nothing available, and when we ask why, he says that it's cause other people haven't returned their trucks yet. He says that there are 60 other reservations made for that day! Very unprofessional and not accommodating at all. We went to UHaul, and the day was saved. Never using Budget again since they allow you to book a truck and then they won't actually have a truck available when you need it!

    Sherri Stockler: Rented a moving truck from this location and it nearly ruined my entire move. The truck was delivered to me with the check engine light and tire pressure light on and no one at the location seemed to care that the truck was clearly out of maintenance. On my way out of town I stopped to put air in the tire. By the time I got to Baltimore I had a flat and had to wait 3 hours for someone to come fix it. I was stranded in downtown Baltimore in rush hour traffic. Then the return location tried to scam me and put extra charges on my card for not refueling when I filled the tank over what was required. My whole experience with this company was horrible and will never rent from budget again.

    m demi: Not the fanciest location from which Ive rented a vehicle, but ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SERVICE I have ever experienced BY FAR... And I have probably rented from BUDGET, UHAUL et al over 25 times in my life. At first glance, the location looks rough. But 5 minutes with Chris will have you thinking otherwise in short order. As it turned out, Chris (owner) and Mike (#2) were nothing short of exceptional both times I have needed them this past year. In fact, the first time I rented, the original Budget location where I (thought) I 'reserved' a truck online didnt have it and didnt contact me...I only found out when I called the location where I was scheduled to pick up my reservation. I then just went by Chris' place (Reed St.) on a lark as it was close to me. Sure enough, Chris welcomed me in his trailer, got on the phone, juggled a bunch of stuff and put me in a truck within .5 hour. He even let me use his phone charger when I didnt have mine with me. The second time was similar but an even worse time... I needed a truck on a moment's notice and just walked in on a Saturday around noon... (The line at the Uhaul place nearby was out the door and people were waiting for HOURS....WITH RESERVATIONS.) Of course, there were no trucks available but Chris asked for my cell and told me he would text me if something came in. After about an hour, I went by again desperate and hoping to get lucky. Nothing had come in. That notwithstanding, Chris then chatted with Mike about a truck that was being serviced at another location and before I knew it Chris and Mike hopped in his Chris' personal truck and 20 minutes later he came back with a 16-footer for me. What's more, he only charged me for a 12-footer. I ended up keeping the truck for SEVERAL days longer than I anticipated and returned it 2 hours after the return time. Nevertheless, Chris did not charge me a late fee, didnt charge a cleaning fee even though I returned it a bit messy and EVEN REDUCED MY FEE with his personal discount because it was a long rental... ALL WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING. He and Mike were there for me TWICE when I needed them, went out of their way to help, and then not only DIDNT nickle and dime me, but he even reduced slightly my bill because of how long I had the truck. Its also worth noting that you can return the truck anytime and drop a key, including Sunday, and they will honor your stated return time. Im reading some of these reviews and MANY of them are BUDGET CORPORATE/WEBSITE related. I agree with some of their issues. Budget's reservation and online system lacks. But in my experience its not much better anywhere else. Also, many of these posts are old. Now its just Chris and Mike and they are all business... The location looks a bit rough but is otherwise just fine. In terms of professionalism, consideration and price, there is NO ONE BETTER...not even close really, and I have considerable experience with them all. Thanks very much guys, really.     Patricia Boskovic: The location was off of the beaten path (random alley/street). No one was there when we arrived to drop off the truck. As we were leaving an associate showed up and barely acknowledged us. The truck was very old with manual windows and over 90,000 miles, but it held up.

    Tommy Eastman: I reserved a truck online and the site said that I had a truck reserved. When I arrived, the guy told me that they didn't have a truck for me. They charged me $50 for a no-show fee and are going to take 7 business days to return the money they never should have charged me. Will not be coming back.

    Alex DiCaprio: I mean ...it's a truck yard... What do you actually expect. It's definitely not the Ritz... it is somewhere between a crack den and a dumpyard. Long story short it's a truck yard and you can get your truck here and the people are nice.

    Al Lewis: Everything went okay until I drove out and noticed the right outside mirror of the 15 ft truck was very loose and couldn't be properly adjusted. I returned and they fixed it on the spot. I drove the truck at very moderate speeds, did a simple storage unit move. Only drove a total of 16 miles, put $15. of gas in there to bring the level back to where it was when I got the truck. Upon viewing my emailed receipt I saw that they charged me a $39.15 re-fueling fee (6 gals.)!!! What???!!! I'm going back for my refund, and pursue possible legal remedies! This is unfair, and really theft on consumers!!!

    Ted Hill: The truck was not clean or well-maintained, then I was overbilled by $175. After a long time on the phone with customer service they sort of resolved the problem, but I was still overbilled by $30.

    Caleb Darger: I got a call the day before telling me that the truck I rented would be at a different location (10 minutes away, so not a huge deal). I showed up to the new location and they told me the truck was actually at the original location that I had specified, but the trailer that I rented was at the current location, and I would need to personally go pick up the truck at the original location only to bring it back and pick up the trailer. The staff at both locations were not helpful and unfriendly. Overall just a terrible experience.

    Eddie Pruette: I had an excellent experience here. A representative, probably a manager, at this location, really helped me through a problem caused by my own mistake. The van I rented was in great shape. I would recommend this location to anyone. The after hours return process had a lot of steps, but it was pretty easy and straightforward.

    Tyler Ashlin: Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They got me everything I needed in a timely fashion and answered all my questions!

    David Stiles: U-Haul tried to make this as easy as possible. Driving this truck 1300 miles was very difficult. If my son moves again, he can use a moving company.

    Ashley Stewart: It was very quick and easy! I decided to go on a whim, and was excited to be driving away in my rental truck within ~20 minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful. I liked that I was able to complete the return process on my phone, and the location was convenient for me.

    Ray daSilva: Equipment rental process and cargo van were fine. The automated part of the process worked fairly well. What marred the entire experience was the attitude of the customer service agent at the desk at this location. She was aggressive, arrogant and dismissive of the customer for no reason at all. I understand that such an attitude may get built up over a period of time working in such a position but it has no place when you are working in a customer service position. Her attitude tarnished the U-Haul brand and soured what might otherwise have been a good experience. I know that workforce issues are affected by the pandemic and labor shortages but there is no excuse for such behavior toward customers. No, I will not return to this location. I will not recommend this location.

    Aileen: I made an online reservation, unfortunately I arrived and I couldn't pick up the car, they hadn't left the keys

    Cassidy Martin: Do not trust or rely on this location. Literally will do everything possible to avoid using U-Haul again after this experience. Scheduled a 6am self-service pick-up and because no one prepared our truck the night prior, when I arrived at 5:50am and tried to complete the mobile check-in process, it came up with a screen saying I would have to wait until 7am for someone to arrive to hand off the vehicle. Had to call customer service and Uber to the nearest location on 5th where the equipment I payed for wasn’t in the truck that I would be using and the access code to my vehicle key lock wouldn’t work. The only reason everything went OK was because an employee arrived early and was able to get our key for us and our equipment. Thx for nothing

    Marcus Bowers: I reserved a truck online for pickup at a specific time. An hour before that time they called me informing me that they didn’t have it (another customer kept it longer than expected) and sent me to another location. I really appreciated that they called me, rather than telling me when I would have showed up, and that they made other arrangements for me. They also gave me a discount for my troubles. The long and short of my review is that these guys give great customer service. I highly recommend!

    A: So easy and such a nice young lady working there - absolutely no headaches or fees or anything annoying. I've been recommending this to all my coworkers and friends!!! I'll definitely be using in the future. And YES the interior is a LEGITIMATE rectangular with 100% of the floor space useable. I got the 16' truck and was able to drive it fine, even back it up. I used every foot of the truck with my studio apartment. Absolutely no hassle with the deposit return or charge etc. SO GREAT!!!!!

    Lamar Taylor: I drove from Central Texas up to Alexandria, Virginia hauling my car on a transporter. Pulling a car with a 16' truck was definitely a gas thirsty trip that cost me about $350. To rent the truck it cost $1016, Tax and Military discount applied. My only true gripe is that it rained quite a bit and I noticed the rain was getting into the cab of the truck from a seal that was behind me which connected the truck cab to the back of where my house hold goods were. I also noticed that rain was able to penetrate the back of the truck where my items were and wet a mattress and wooden table. Next time I think I'll Have my household goods shipped and pay for my car to be transported. Simply speaking from a cost stand point, it would have been cheaper overall to have everything shipped.

    Ahmad Zaki: I prefer Penske to Uhaul. I rented a truck on Feb 26, 2022 and returned it the same day at 5:20 pm. No one was in the office so I dropped off the keys and filled up the tank. Today Feb 27th, 2022 I have called several times to let them know, but no body picks up the phone.

    Ay-Ay Ron G.: I normally have a good experience with Penske (too Bad Marissa isn't at Alexandria any more). This time, there was an error in estimating my rental. I was surprised by the $100 overcharge. The 'manager', Simone was combative, argumentative, and cut me off repeatedly in my attempts to simply discover where the error occurred. Understanding a customer is the first step to diffusing problems. While she is correct that I should have read my contract instead of trusting the person's estimations, the person failed to update to the final mileage we talked about. I didn't look at the contract/estimate before as I was completely sure he was tracking my needs. The business took no responsibility in this situation for the human error, or even making a good customer happy. Errors occur....Splitting the difference in human error would have gone a long way toward making a problem turn into a happy customer. I told her she could make we eat the whole thing, and what would that do to the relationship (I rent trucks for various things from time to time). That cost Penske at least more than the $50 in splitting it, just in business from me. That's not a good position and I'd rather do business with people who are reasonable and nice.

    Leopoldo Williams: Poor customer service, I have been renting trucks from this location for over 5 years however today they decided to make me pay $2500 deposit without any logical explanation. I never had an inside to with any of the trucks I rented.

    Dave Teal: I called Uhaul first and they had so many restrictions on where I could pickup a truck and how long I could use it, very frustrating. So I called Penske, and they couldn't have been nicer and much more flexible than Uhaul. Yes, they might be a bit more expensive (pay for mileage), but I was impressed with their service and their flexibility to my constantly changing moving schedule. They even gave me a military discount! I will recommend them to others and return with my business!

    Katie McIntyre: Very simply - Do not rent with this company. When reserving our budget truck we did so knowing a specific price we were very comfortable with for our move. We understand it could be an estimate and it could change slightly before signing our final agreement for the truck. However, when we arrived at the location we found the price we originally were comfortable with was now double the amount. We tried to discuss options with management for how we can make this right; however, they did not care to try and help us whatsoever, and would not provide keys until we agreed. Given we were in a time crunch for our move, we felt we had no other options and extremely mislead as consumers. We tried to additionally contact budget customer service regarding this specific issue to try and make things right as none of this was communicated to us during our reservation process, but we were told by the customer service rep (who was also unhelpful) essentially the location can handle it as they choose. We understand this location is a business simply trying to make money, but treating customers like how we were treated is not how to do it. Needless to say, we will not be using Budgets services again, and I would not recommend working with this location whatsoever. Do not trust the price they show on their reservation, do not expect the truck to be there ready for you, and go with your gut and choose Uhaul instead.

    Cate Vonich: Let me start out with saying that nothing was wrong with the truck and I was not charged any hidden fees. That being said get insurance as you really don’t want to pay extra if you get that truck damaged. Okay with that out of the way… this is probably the slowest car rental service out there. And not to the fault of the employees they were trying very hard to get us in and out of there. I am shocked that they have the worlds slowest and oldest computers. This is a corporation afterall! You’re telling me that they can’t afford updated computers?!! I feel bad for the employees. All of us customers expect 21st century service and we are met with Flintstone technology. Do better.

    Trent Tidwell: Terrible experience. Had a box truck reserved for a move, was going to be a little late picking up the truck so I called to let them know I was still coming. The person who answered the phone told me this was fine, the truck would be here whenever. When I arrived I was told they decided to rent my larger truck out and it wouldn't be back until tomorrow morning, best they could do is a cargo van. I had no choice but to accept since the move had to be done that weekend. The van I was given had trash all over it (half drank water bottles, food wrappers, etc.) which blew my mind considering the staff went into the truck to check the fuel and mileage levels, they just decided to ignore it. The van was heavily damaged and the rear cargo door didn't even fully latch. More importantly, the van was significantly smaller so many items had to be left behind. Last time I will ever rent through budget, I will pay $1K more to rent somewhere else.

    Vernon Segee: Had reservation for truck but they said vehicle wouldn't be available until 4 to hours later. Ok the manager I guess that the nice lady in back that decided to give me the requested vehicle after 20 or so minutes. G4eat we can go now and move the Belongings as planned oh no, start the van and low tire pressure alarm . Look at tires and the left rear tire is dam near flat. THEY DONT HAV3 ANY AIR EQUIPMENT. Go around the corner several blocks and fill it yourself I m told. We'll it worked out tire filled a d no more tire issues. U know we are in snow ice territory so the windshield gets a lot of road spray accumulation try to clean glass and the washer fluid is empty how THE HELL DO YOU RENT A VEHICLE ISNT ROAD READY. WOULDN'T USE THIS LOCATION AGAIN

    Kira L: This woman Natasha fraudulently charged my account for $1801 and two $150 charges; she's nasty, irresponsible and a criminal. She goes around just lying about charges stealing peoples money because her and her business is broke. This location is desperate for cash and will do anything.. it's just a matter of time they will close and get arrested for embezzlement.

    Jacqueline Susmann: Would give zero stars. Rented a truck a month in advance and got told the night before that they couldn’t honor the reservation. Customer service refused to give us a refund. Told us to call a 1-800 number to get help. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!

    Michael Koger: This is a miserable company. Do not rent with them. As others have said, regardless of whether they give you a reservation or confirmation, they likely WILL NOT HAVE A TRUCK for you. I booked a flight from Tampa to DC to pick up a truck. Luckily, I called ahead and discovered that there would be no rental truck within 50 miles of my location. The customers service reps kept doubling down on the "policy" that they can't guarantee a truck, only that they can guarantee a rate. What good is a rate without the truck? BTW, nowhere on my confirmation does it say any of this. It simply says "Your truck is reserved". The customer service reps even got argumentative with me about this. NEVER AGAIN.

    Brittany Scott: If I could give this company a negative star I would! I reserved a truck two months in advance. I called the week before to confirm my reservation and the day I was supposed to pick up my van I called to confirm and they said there was no rentals available! I was moving across the country I needed to get to my new job! They didn’t offer any other solution for me they just said sorry. I called Penske they had a lot of trucks. And all of their trucks are a lot nicer than the budget anyway! Penske made my travels easy and enjoyable unlike budget! I travel every year almost and I will never ever use budget ever again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. Because I guess the reservation doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get a truck

    Mikey Bee: Registration didn't take long. The truck ran fine and served it's purpose. Was able to drop off after hours (at a different location) and I called the morning after to confirm receipt. I had no issues during my rental.

    Catherine Vasquez: Would give it negative stars if possible. Rented a truck and received a call 30 minutes before my scheduled pick up that none were available. I had to drive 30 minutes out of my way for a new one and then when I got there, had to wait 45 minutes to speak with a manger about my issue. Complete and utter lack of care at this facility. Asked for a receipt for my reimbursement (broken dolly) and couldn’t even get that. I’ve called several times to speak with someone and get hung up on within minutes. Unsure how this establishment is even functional.

    j raa: Worst experience with a shady company that doesn't care about it's customers. Hidden fees, worn out filthy equipment, dishonest guy that runs the rental counter, and way more expensive than U-Haul. I'm embarrassed to say I still went through with this after getting nailed with additional and undisclosed fees because I thought I'd save $40 over U-Haul. $450 more in the end. Never again! If I could give this dealer a negative rating, I would. Stay away!

    Waterford Place: If I could rate this location a negative number I would. On May 12, 2022 I had a van rental to travel 700 miles. When I arrived the van the agent had for me was dirty, damaged, and had NO tread on the tires! I advised the agent I would not put my life in danger in the inadequate vehicle. I cancelled the reservation that moment. I found later he manually charged my credit card $75 for no show! I have disputed the charge. Beware STAY AWAY FROM THIS RENTAL LOCATION

    Michael G: Reserved a 16ft truck well in advance for two weekends with pickup on Saturday morning and drop of Monday morning. At 6pm on Friday they TEXTED me to tell me a truck was not available. I quickly called and was offered a much smaller van for THE SAME PRICE. A call to the customer service resulted in them telling me that an inventory manager would find me a truck and call me back within two hours. That never happened. A call back to customer service on Saturday morning resulted in confusion as they seemed to have no idea about the previous call or promises. Luckily, I was able to get a last minute truck from UHaul where the reservation is GUARANTEED. Canceling at the very last minute and being zero help could not have made for a worse experience. Thanks for the extra moving stress Budget.

    Robert Ryder: I got a truck, used it, and that was great. However, this was the strangest business I've ever worked with. I made a reservation on Budget's website for a cargo van. When I got to this location, the guy behind the counter, in his best irritated voice, told me that they didn't have a van for me. He said I had a reservation, but not a confirmation. I need a confirmation to have a van. This went on for about 10 minutes...with me constantly asking "do you have a van? I reserved one, where is it?" FINALLY...he said he did have a truck and that I was 'lucky' because one came in. He showed me where it was...it was the van that had been sitting there the whole time. After signing all the paperwork and getting my rental squared away he noted that if I wanted to pay cash, he'd give me 10% off. That seemed odd, but whatever, I like saving money. I took the truck, it was clean, it ran great, got all my work done with in and returned it the next day. When I returned it he showed me the bill...it was a little higher than the estimate, but it was broken down so I could see what all the charges were. It all seemed legit, $293. Next I pulled out my wad of cash and payed him...he said a 10% discount for paying for cash. I handed him $300, and he said "discount, I give you $20 back, yes?" At this point its all so strange I accept that and just move on. Oh, but we're not done! He calls me the next day and said he's sorry but my credit card transaction was not cancelled, can you come back to the office and I'll give you the cash back. I got back to the office, while waiting he gives the same runaround to another customer "you don't have a confirmation...no truck, OH LUCKY YOU! I found you a truck!" Finally he calls me over to the desk, reaches in his own wallet, hands me $280 back, and away I go. The whole thing seemed very odd. He's kind of a nice guy...but he's just not great with customers...which is bad when dealing with customers is what he does all day. I'm not sure if Budget is aware of how this operation is being run, but they're about to find it. I'm letting them know I'll take my truck rental business elsewhere.

    cletus maag: This company is the absolute worst, currently reaching out to corporate to file a formal complaint. My mother-in-law went to pickup a truck at this location and tried contacting someone at this office and nobody was answering the phone. Then she gets there around noon and nobody is in the office. Keep in mind the website says they are open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and evidently the guy that was working there chooses what hours he works and is very indecisive about the hours he works as well. We called the office and finally reaches someone at 1:02 p.m. and the guy mentions they close at 1 p.m. and then he says 12:30 and then states at noon. Each time he changed up his story. I'd highly not recommend this company and I will be filing a formal complaint and will also be asking for a complete refund since they choose the hours they want to work at this location. It really put my mother-in-law in a bad situation because someone didn't feel like working on the 2nd.

    Claudia Suarez: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!! Save yourself the headache and stress. If I could give negative stars I would. I had booked the moving truck a month prior to our move. The night before our pick up day I received a text message at almost 10 PM that our truck would not be ready at the time that we booked it for (8 AM) and that it would not arrive to the location until 11-12. This was obviously not going to work for us since we planned everything according to this rental, including our movers and help. Our apartment complex has a designated area to moving trucks which was only reserved for a couple hours for us. I called customer service and they just told me to call the location number and they may be able to get me a truck from another location. I called the office number (surprised someone even answered as it was after closing hours). I tried to explain the situation to the man (he was a Middle Easter man who claimed he was working from home). He then proceeded to tell me the truck would not even be available until the afternoon due to this delay. I immediately told him due to our circumstances that was not going to work for us and I needed him to find a solution for me. He VERY quickly got heated, proceeded to raise his voice and then told me "my truck availability is more important than this!!". I have never experienced such poor customer service. He did not care ONE bit that this was causing so many issues for us at the last minute!! Eventually after going back and forth some more (he continued to raise his voice at me the whole time) I ended up hanging up on him and calling customer service to cancel the truck service. I will NEVER use this company ever again. There are MULTIPLE reviews of people having similar issues.

    Ashley Jenkins: Worst experience ever! I was coming from out of town for a move and I was sent a TEXT message less than 12 hours from when I was scheduled to pick up my truck telling me that they had nothing available. Do yourself a favor and rent from somewhere else!

    Brenda Conyers: Someone picked up the phone and put me on hold and never picked up the phone to answer my question about renting tools! I was on hold for 20 to 25 more mins I took another call and nobody came back! Terrible customer service not coming back to the phone. I young lady answer the phone I heard her voice.

    Michael: Rented dehumidifier from tool rental department. Spoke to staff on the phone before picking up and they agreed to stay open until I arrived, because this was late and looked like I might not make it during their regular business hours. Very polite and helpful. Equipment worked well.

    Yvans Cator jr: Wish they had more equipment selection but the customer service made up for it. Had some issues with a piece of equipment and one of the supervisors helped remedy the situation. Also was a pleasure to speak to!

    Greg D: This is the BEST U-Haul location by far! I’ve used this location multiple times the past couple of years- rented trucks, bought storage boxes etc. The staff is always super friendly. Tons of moving supplies always in stock and HALF the price of supplies as at Public Storage down the street.

    Jon Varian: Never reserve anything from this location. I reserved a trailer here and when I went to pick it up they said the reservation was at a different location. No email, no notification that my reservation had moved. Staff was rude and didn't care that I now had to drive 30 minutes across DC in rush hour traffic to pick up a trailer that I had a reservation for here - this caused me to miss the time I had reserved for my loading dock and, in general, ruining my entire move. The other location said this happens all the time, yet u-haul doesn't seem to care enough to fix there system or treat their customers right. Will not be going here and I recommend you look elsewhere too.

    Samantha Boehm: My husband and I were supposed to get a uhaul around alexandria but the location got switched to here.. I proceeded to ask if I had to pay more because of the location switch and I did, which doesn’t make any sense to me because there are multiple pick up locations around alexandria or somewhere closer than DC.. so I had to pay extra for the miles and to rent it. On top of that they ended up charging more than what was paid when it was picked up and an extra charge fee even though the gas was filled to the exact spot as we got it. This place is ridiculous and obviously is just money hungry. Try ur best to stay away!!

    Kacee Benton: I’ve had a unit (at one time 2 units) here since 2005. The facility is clean and secure. The staff is nice and helpful. The only complaint that I have is the price going up every year. My rate has doubled since I first got here. I don’t see a reason for the annual increase. I’m lacking storage at home, which is the only reason I’ve remained all of there years.

    MiMi e: Mostly good experience, very clean facility. The morning crew was friendlier than the 2nd. Little confusion at drop-off. The pics show drop-off box as colorful near entrance...it's actually a slot cut into the brick wall on the side nearer the driveway. Parking lot attendant very helpful with locating the truck. I concur, pics are worth gold. Our truck had several small damaged areas & the cab had not been cleaned, French fries...lol.

    Kailash Yelasani: The truck was in very bad shape. The windshield was broken, it was very difficult to drive against the Sun. The truck back door is rusted and doesn't close properly, had to bang it with great effort. The vehicle is already driven more than 110k miles and makes a lot of noise while driving. Mileage is very poor had to put in 10 gallons just for 50 miles ride, though I was not moving heavy stuff. It's bad service. The only good part, they allowed me to park my vehicle overnight at the rental location during my rental.

    andrew: I'm on the fence... I had an issue using self check in and the mileage on the van, wasn't what was shown in the app. So I went inside. The morning staff was a big help, but when I came to return the evening staff tried to say I own money for gas even tho the needle was in the exact same place it was when I took it out. Turns out they didn't exactly adjust the mileage in the computer system but just calculated the mileage I used. Take pictures of everything when you rent here

    Samantha Burkhart: I am actively recommending that people avoid U-Haul storage facilities. The facility was in terrible condition. The first unit I was assigned was an upper level unit covered in cockroaches and bugs. I was not made aware prior to move in that I would be assigned an upper-level unit. They moved me to a basement unit which had rat traps, water damage, cockroaches, and bugs everywhere. I refused the unit and found a non-U-Haul facility to store my belongings. Absolutely terrible experience.

    Jack Murray: Picking up the van from a mobile device was not easy. The instructions were not clear. The staff were extremely rude. When I found my truck, the staff has parallel parked it in between two other trucks so closely that I could not get it out and the staff had to give me a new van.

    Jack Chamberland: They did not call me before my scheduled pickup date (which they had listed wrong) to inform me that my pickup location had been changed to 5th Street. After finally sorting out where and when I could pickup the truck, halfway through the trip, we realized they gave us a truck with no oil. Braking was terrible and shifting gears was a nightmare, but that’s to be expected when the oil life is 0%.

    tony bano: Very smooth and efficient process. Everybody I dealt with was extremely professional and very helpful. Things could not have gone better and I appreciate how easy everybody made every thing about the rental. Smooth move! Thanks!

    Merenda Tate: The GM on site helped me and was VERY nice and understanding. He smiled a LOT! Made me feel better when I was worried about the rental process due to a bad experience I recently had with another moving company.

    Ron Harding: I have used u-haul my entire life - in more than 15 states. This is, by a longshot, the absolute best location I have ever worked with. When coming to the DC area, I will bypass every other location to make sure I get their incredible service. The owner and his staff are cordial, helpful, personable, and extremely professional. Richard, who is in the picture, took incredible care of us. Don't waste your time with any of the other locations in the DC area.

    Mary Jacoby: Don’t EVER rent from Budget in Alexandria. Mathew Craft knew that the vehicle I had reserved was broken days before hand, but never bothered to inform us. When my husband got to Budget to pick up the truck, Matthew said there was nothing he could do except for send my husband in an Uber 30 miles away to the Budget in Dulles that had a truck. When my husband got there, he was informed that they did not have a truck despite what Matthew said. Being stranded in Dulles, he was forced to rent a van to get back home. Budget is refusing to refund us for our expenses or the time the movers were waiting for the truck to arrive. We are out HUNDREDS of dollars.

    Matthew Krider: Seems like all the bad reviews on this location don't truly tell the story. The building is a bit hidden but its exactly where maps says it is and it's impossible to miss 30+ moving trucks with "BUDGET" written on the side. Mike was great to work with during our move and got us set up with our truck rental smoothly. He was very friendly, upfront, selected the newest truck they had in the lot, helped us hook up the trailer for our car that we were towing and personally inspected all the equipment. Truck ran flawlessly over the 1100 miles of our trip. Great moving experience, 10/10 recommend Budget from this location!

I had a terrible experience at another budget truck office this morning - no truck (despite a confirmed reservation made a month ago, and confirmed again yesterday) and terrible customer service. This office was phenomenal. They had the right sized truck and amazing customer service. MATT was SO helpful and friendly. He went above and beyond. I will be recommending my friends and family only rent from this location. Cannot emphasize this enough. This office and Matt rock. He changed the tone of what started out as a very stressful moving day. Thank you!!!

    Sarah Hadi: DO NOT RENT from here unless you want to be told there is no truck available even though you made your reservation weeks in advance. I called and made a reservation over three weeks before my move. I specifically reserved a one-way, 16’ truck. I called the day before my move just to confirm that everything would be ready for me the next morning when I went to pick up the truck, and I was informed by the person on the phone that they didn’t have my truck and that someone “might” be able to go get it from a location in Fredericksburg, but if not, then I would have to go myself. I was completely flabbergasted as to why they had weeks to ensure my truck would be there, yet I had to call just in a whim to make sure everything was ready and THAT’S when I was informed that I may have to drive down to Fredericksburg the next day (the day of my move) to get my truck. That’s completely INSANE to me. The person I spoke on the phone with was a young guy, super nice, and even he didn’t understand why the location where he worked operates this way. Luckily I was able to immediately reserve a truck with Penske who not only had a truck available but honored the price Budget quoted me. Don’t rent from here unless you want to be completely screwed over at the last possible second.

    Kristy Hammond: Never in my life have I experienced such poor service. I made a reservation to pick up a truck in advance. The day of my move Budget called and stated the truck was not available. They said they would try to find a truck for me and give me a discount which I was pleased to hear because this was a HUGE inconvenience. An hour later I receive a call that they have canceled the reservation and left me with nothing. Needless to say I will NEVER use this company again.

    Danny Sheehan: I showed up to this location to pick up a truck at my reserved time, and they didn’t have the truck there or bother to let me know ahead of time. I waited there 20 minutes while the representative tried to find me a truck (Apparently they did nothing my reservation until I showed up there), and he finally found one I could use all the way in Woodbridge. I then had to drive all the way out there, and once I arrived the Alexandria office had still not forwarded my reservation to them. I then had to sit there another 20 minutes And wait until they finally answered their phone And forwarded the reservation. At this point, I was running an hour and a half late for the moving job I was using the truck for, so I told the Alexandria office that I won’t have time to bring it back to Woodbridge. They told me that’d be alright, and that they scheduled a replacement truck to be brought to Woodbridge in its place. The next day I received a call from the Woodbridge office saying that was all a lie, and that she was in trouble now because she didn’t have the truck she needed. Highly recommend avoiding this Alexandria locations. They’re incompetent and are fully of empty promises.

    Ines H: The overall experience with Budget was bad. It started at a different location with them renting our, in advanced rented, truck to another person without being able to provide another one. After a lot of attitude, from the employee, and wasted time we got one with low thread on the front tire. Not something we wanted for a move from Texas to VA. While dropping of the truck at this location we were treated very rude and unprofessional. Problems were caused because of missing documents we didn't receive in the first place. It was a very frustrating experience. We wouldn't recommend Budget!

    Brian Schwaty: What is wrong with these people's ratings? I have always had wonderful experiences at budget. And especially this location. Yes most, if not all, of the budget locations use outdated systems, printers, etc. but if they upgraded then you know our cost will go up too. We have to stop being so impatient and expecting things to happen super quickly because of technology. Just relax, put a smile on your face and you might be surprised how people will treat you better.

    Andrea Burno: This establishment does shiesty business by luring you into the place of business at Oxon Hill Rental/U-haul quoting the cost of your deposit amount by phone. And once you arrive they hold you over the barrel demanding the paid up front actual cost for your rental purchase. And, on the actual delivery date no rental equipment is delivered because you get a phone call requiring your return too Icon Hill Rental to pay additional deposit rental costs. All awhile your bank cards funds have been blocked out by that establishment. Your days job work is ruined with workers haven showed up to work and no equipment was delivered And, management Mr. Rodney and sales reprensentatve Katherin are cluless to practicing Good Faith business when they have secured up front the required deposit amount prior to the scheduled delivery date.

    Boo Krieger: Rented a trailer for one way ending in Indianapolis. They were friendly and pointed out a potential problem before we did. Marked it so we didn't have any problem with the turn in. However, we did have a different problem with turn in but this store helped me correct it with paperwork when I called. Thanks for the assistance.

    MkMG09: - late review. - price not bad for the truck and everything. - I paid for a dolly and blankets when I got to my house the dolly wasn't in the truck nor was the ramp. - the staff was friendly but took their time to finish a task before helping me, so I was waiting for like 15mins before starting my paper work and everything. - location is a bit weird and hard to get in. - overall not a bad place, just make sure you have everything you pay for before you leave.

    Harry Blakey: If you are in the ft Washington are, this is the place you need to rent from, from uhaul to Jack hammers, and everything in between. They are always willing to help get you what you need.

    Carlos Flores: Ryder was great during my visit, they diagnose my trucks issues and fixed the problem ASAP. Ryder even dropped me off at the nearest hotel and even picked me. Great place to do bussiness.

    Joe Neuman: These people are straight up garbage. I had a truck rental “reserved” for about a month. Checked in regularly to confirm reservation. 16 hours before I’m supposed to pick up my truck they tell me they don’t have one for me and said they were “working on it”. Said they would call back at 5:00 or 7:00. Never heard again from them. They know how to take the reservation but not keep the reservation. Do business elsewhere.

    Dustin McDonald: I rented a refrigerated truck for nearly six months. During this time Ryder's customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. They do not care about you, your time, nor your business. They only care about your money. Here are three of the worst incidents: 1. Reserved a truck weeks in advance. Got in a taxi and went to pick up the truck. Truck had been rented out and was not available. Had to take a taxi back home. Had to return the next day via taxi to pick up the truck. - Summary: Paid for two taxi rides I did not need and lost a day of work. 2. Refrigeration unit belts broke and inventory in the back began to warm up. Service member came and told me I had to drive from DC to Baltimore to pick up the need belts, because they did not have them in stock. I told him that I was not going to drive to Baltimore. He said he would go to Baltimore to get the belts. I told him to call me when the unit was fixed and to turn the unit back on, because the inventory in the truck needed to say cold. Later, I returned to the truck to find the unit working, but not on as requested - inventory was ruined. Service member also left the broken belt in the cab for me to throw away. - Summary: Service member wanted me to fix the truck, did not follow directions leading to inventory going bad, and left trash in cab. 3. Maintenance member called me and told me that the truck was due for maintenance. I told him that I was returning it in one week and that it could wait. He said it should not wait and the truck could break down on the road. I brought the truck in, waited for a taxi, and went home. The next day, I had to taxi back and pick up the truck. I asked for a one day reduction, since they made me waste gas, time, and taxi money, so their truck could receive maintenance. Ryder refused. Summary - Wasted three hours commuting, $80 in taxi money, and a day without the truck (which I still had to pay for). Recommendation - If you do not want to waste time and money, do not use Ryder Truck Rentals.

    John B: I had a really great experience at this location with each and every person on the team! Chris, the manager, had worked with another location to help me get a hitch installation completed on my SUV when to other locations's technician became unavailable. On arrival to drop the car off, the woman working the counter was super helpful and answered all my questions in a professional and courteous manner. Later, when I came to pick up my car with the newly installed hitch, the gentleman (I didn't catch his name unfortunately) working the counter was extremely informative and took the time to ensure I have the right equipment to tow, and how they did the wiring for the trailer connection, and again answered everyone of my questions courteously and fully. He also ensured all the parts removed were returned to me in case I ever needed to remove the hitch and restore the SUV to OEM condition. Finally, the manager, Chris, asked about my experience with both the other location and his location and ensured I was a happy customer in all regards. I am! I most strongly recommend this location and Chris and his team of customer service oriented professionals to anyone who may need their services!

    Kimee Selassie: I did not rent a vehicle. I'm out of state on vacation. This location clearly did not confirm with an ID and simply took my name and number and gave a rental under my name. They called me saying they were reporting the vehicle stolen. Inconveniencing me. They were completely unhelpful. Ignored all of my calls now noticing they were wrong for not confirming the renters identity. They were all very rude. Had me on hold for hours until the vehicle was returned so they wouldn't have to talk about the mistake they made. I'm looking to be compensated for the stress caused on my vacation because of their negligence.

    J R: Had a great rental experience here Saturday. Total check in/out time was about 5 minutes. Easy process, friendly and efficient staff. It made a moving day so much easier.

    Al Lewis: It was not fully staffed at first so there was some waiting. The $20 "return check out charge", although printed on the top front of the paperwork, was NOT explained or highlighted, so as a customer you're hit with yet another random cost, unawares!!
