When my dogs were experiencing horrible allergies in Virginia, she introduced me to Farmina’s Skin & Coat (venison & quinoa) which allowed them to get off ALL allergy meds & shots! In order to continue this life-changing diet in a place without the availability of this food, she now orders it for us & my husband or I pick it up when we are down in the area. Chandler Wilson: I came here to try and find a dry food for my very picky, very food-sensitive cat, and while the food I bought ended up triggering an allergic reaction for my girl (which was NOT the fault of anyone at the store!), the employees were fantastic and super helpful. I really do recommend this store to anyone who has questions about specific dietary needs, the employee I spoke with helped me pick out a food based off the needs of my cat and my budget- it may not have worked out, but she spent much more time than she had to trying to help me find something that would work. They also told me that if my cat had a reaction to the food, and the bag was still half-full, I could get a full refund on it. The customer service here is incredible and I definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.

Jessica Bates: We had a great experience with Pugs by T&N. We could tell right away that the pups were so well cared for and loved prior to us being able to take our boy home. We got to meet our pup when he was about 5 weeks old and were sent plenty of pictures and videos of him and the litter up until we were able to pick him up. We also were given a toy, blanket, bag of food, a bowl, and a folder with his medical records and other pug puppy info. We would definitely recommend if you are looking for a caring, responsible, and organized pug breeder!
karen pollock: I can not say enough wonderful things about Pugs by T and N..This was our first experience getting a dog from a breeder and they made the experience a wonderful one.. We were notified when the puppies were born and then when they were two weeks old we were sent pictures.And we picked our girl right away.We were able to meet our girl at 4 weeks and put a deposit down.And from then until we picked her up at 8 weeks they sent us pictures and videos of our girl.. When we picked her up they even gave us a baby blanket and toy with the scent of the liter and the mom and dad of the liter on it to make it an easier transition for our sweet girl.As well as a bag of food and food bowl..We highly recommend them as a breeder..They really took great care of our girl until we brought her home💜

Naomi Philhower '19: I have volunteered here on and off for the past 8 months and am truly impressed with the organization. They help save many at risk dogs from high-kill shelters and provide them with safe caring foster homes until they are adopted. The adoption events are always well handled to ensure the safety of both dogs and volunteers. I am looking forward to volunteering here again after the Covid-19 pandemic. In the future if I am able to adopt this would be the first organization I would look at for a pet, and I would highly recommend them to any individuals in DC, MD, or VA looking to adopt!
Kelsey Blend: This rescue is one of the best around. When they pull dogs from high kill shelters they don’t cherry pick like the majority of rescues do. The dogs are immediately vetted and evaluated for their needs. They are then treated for a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) heartworms, broken bones, ear infections, tick borne diseases, and skin infections. They are vaccinated, spayed and neutered, and started on heartworm and flea medication as well as given dentals and mass removal as needed. The rescue is foster based, giving these dogs experience in a home (potty training, basic commands), some of which have never seen until they have been given a second chance at living! If your looking for a dog that needs a loving home that hasn’t had the best life, Rural Dog does a excellent job of starting these dogs off on the right path of a healthy life.
Christine Roxborough: I adopted a wonderful dog 2 years ago from this rescue. They are wonderful people who devote their time and money to saving the dogs that are most likely to be euthanized. Their devotion and commitment to "the underdog" is inspiring and makes me want to do more to save the abused and neglected animals whose stories are heartwrenching. If I adopt another dog in the future, I will do it from them!

Rick: I drove from Rockville MD, and the weather was great. Although it was a 45 minute drive, upon arriving to MyNextPuppy we had the rules explained and were viewing puppies by our appointment time at 4pm. Darren and staff were very accomodating and helpful when it came to our questions about selecting the perfect dog to match my personality. We stayed for about 2 hours and I am taking home a dog that I match with perfectly. I certainly will return if I have any questions, or want to adopt again.

Jarret Kuhfahl: Visited many doggie day care facilities in the area and easily chose Dogtopia of Alexandria. Super clean facilities, not overly crowded, dog size segregation is spot on, spa facilities and service on premise. Everyone who works there is a true and true dog lover and I feel like my guy is always being well taken care of. They do have an outdoor run, the live stream web cams always work, and of course there is always an attendant in each room to quickly clean up any "doggie messes" and keep the pack in good play and monitoring any signs of rough or aggressive behavior. Moose gives it two paws up!
Hannah Schaefer: My dog loves coming to Dogtopia. Facilities are clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. Love that they have dog cameras you can access and watch your pet throughout the day. You can even send treats / snacks for your dog during their "crate time" from 12-2pm. Will do an assessment of all pups before allowing them to attend daycare to ensure it is a safe place for all. Overall would recommend this place and trust them for my very spoiled pup!
Samuel Byun: Marla, the General Manager, gave some thoughtful tips after the Meet&Greet. Ray, Connie, and Hailey do their bests so that Cola feels welcome. She has a blast whenever she goes there. Dogs are said to be undercover therapists, but even therapists need some downtime with their other furry friends... Highly recommend Dogtopia for their Woofffbulousness ( Woof + fabulous.)

Kathryn McCarthy: Rivermist takes wonderful care of our sensitive English Bulldog. She gets one on one attention, they are able to give her medication if needed, and keep us apprised on how she is doing. She comes home clean, healthy and happy. We are very comfortable with the care our dog receives at Rivermist and would recommend their services to others.

Ann Segura: What a clean, well-run, and beautiful day and boarding program for dogs and cats! The staff is professional and well-trained. My somewhat timid dog was happy to greet her handler, seemed to love all the activities, and was carefully evaluated to see which group of play activities would best suit her. In addition, the location is in the beautiful, rolling countryside of Montgomery County which even allows options for nature hikes for your dog!! Personally, I feel confident in having my dog spend her day at Rivermist. My normally active young dog came home relaxed, happy, and ready for a good night’s sleep!
Val Williams: Our dog, Ginger, acts like she is in heaven when at Rivermist. Doggie daycare is a blast and it’s wonderful to be able to fold a bath in to her stay. We’ve also been really happy with our dog’s longer stays there. The folks at Rivermist have always been extremely helpful and professional. You can tell they truly love the dogs in their care. All of this gives us great peace of mind.
Sue Reber: My puppy Luke had a wonderful time at Rivermist. When our plans changed slightly two days before his boarding, Rivermist was very responsive to accommodate our needs. He was happy to meet all the staff and seemed like he had a good time being pampered and primped. :) Everyone was very friendly, professional and clearly loved their job. That makes for a happy environment.

Megan North: If you want a place to feel like you’re dropping your dog off with your best friend bring them here. Our dog loves coming for boarding and daycare. His comfort with boarding and social skills have exponentially improved since coming to Hometown Bed and Biscuits. Warren and his wife are very knowledgeable about pugs and they let you visit your puppy as much as you want before you bring them home which makes a much smoother transition for the puppy. gabriela grajeda: I just did my second doggy birthday party here for my two pups and I just love Frolick Dogs. Such a great value for everything they include and offer. Rusty is wonderful as always. She’s very patient with the dogs and gives a lot of great advice and guidance when going through the agility course. All the pups and humans had a blast. Corrie Miracle: This was one of the most fun experiences! We had a bulldog agility night (those two words are rarely found side by side) but it was a blast! The meetup group met at Frolic Dogs and the staff was super friendly even though we all showed up at the same time. We were let into the play area and the bulldog chaos started! There were so many pups and everyone had a great time. They had chairs if you were tired as well as a water bowl for them to share. They also provided clean up supplies if your dog had an accident. What a fun place to let the dogs wear themselves out!
Andrew Cruickshank: Great and friendly place to go on a rainy day. Was disappointed when I found out the gym is only open for 2 hours from 5pm-7pm during the week. But my dog and I had an amazing time learning the obstacles and just having fun playing fetch.
Cynthia Kolbe: My three year lab, Hudson, has been going to Frolick for over two years. He has an abundant amount of energy and comes home tired which is perfect. Kevin and Kim treat him as if he were their own dog. I don’t consider Frolick a dog care facility, but instead a place where my dog works out on a treadmill, plays and socializes with other dogs matched to his personality and size, gets potty walks, and has rest periods during the day. I trust the owners and employees implicitly!

OLHOC Building: Nine years ago, when we got our puppy I was concerned about finding a good company to arrange daily walks, vacation boarding, etc., for our Bella. I actually prayed for guidance and in three instances in three days heard about 4 Pets Sake. They have been a Godsend (literally!) both on a daily basis and in vacation and emergency situations. Terri and Kelly are friendly and professional and so talented at their Admin and Bed & Biscuit positions. Our dog-walker, Heather, has become a member of our family and she is adored by both Bella and my husband and I. We will be forever grateful that 4 Pets Sake has and will continue to be a part of our lives!

Nancy Ward: I was searching for a pug puppy and Pauley’s Pups helped me greatly. Mary & Naomi were a tremendous help in the search. They kept me updated and were so kind and encouraging. ARIEL AR: This was a very smooth and difficult process. Smooth because the ladies were very helpful and patient with me by giving me time to see each puppy & hold the one I had been wanting from online visual. They were very helpful and quick with the paper process as no one likes paper or documents lol. I am happy with my puppy Koda and the staff was very friendly. I recommend! This is the fourth puppy in the family that has come from here!

Tayonna Coles: My partner and I had been looking for a puppy for a little while when we came across this place. At first we were a little skeptical from all of the reviews claiming they may be a puppy mill. After going to visit in person the place was very clean the puppies looked well fed and we’re very playful. After some browsing we found our baby, socks! He was the smallest of the bunch but he’s a handful. The staff walked us through the process and even answered my questions when I Called back a week after having him. Although their pets are a bit over priced I would recommend them to anyone looking for a forever friend!
Kim James: My first impression was how clean the place is! The pens are nice and large and you could eat off the floors. All the puppies were well kept and looked happy and content. As for the puppy we took home? He is fantastic!!! Healthy, as well behaved as a puppy can be 😜 and just the sweetest thing. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

Daniel Smith: I had the best experience working with Lucky dog rescue. My girlfriend and I went through the approval process online before meeting our potential new dog and it was super easy. We worked with Paul, who I could go on and on about how fantastic he was to work with. He was very helpful at explaining everything, very accommodating of your availability, and extremely kind. His passion for these dogs and his desire for them to go to good homes was extremely admirable. The process with Paul and meeting the dog through the foster, Grace, was fantastic - no complaints. The people who work with Lucky dog seem to care very much about these animals, and it shows.
Christina Flear: I recently went through the adoption process with Lucky Dog and being a first time dog owner, the process was beyond helpful and reassuring. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly making the whole process that much more pleasant. Each step of the process was organized and easy to follow, plus the communication with their team was quick and thorough. I appreciated them walking me through each step and helping me adopt our new dog Asher. They took the time to make sure we were a good fit, which is so important to me. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to adopt. :)
Briana Provost: Had an enjoyable experience with Lucky Dog and their team. They made sure I understood everything there was to know about every dog I met before I met them. Ended up adopting my dog Stenson, and we are such a good fit. The only thing I will say is that they don’t guarantee the breeds of dogs so if that is something that is important to you, be sure to ask about their match making program since that’s a process where they make sure they pair you with a dog based on your breed and temperament expectations.
Johanna Gonzalez: I was able to adopt my beautiful kitty with this organization. Originally I was going to adopt another pet, but she was chosen by someone else before I was able to confirm my decision. I waited patiently and they assisted in helping me find the right fit for me! Once I confirmed the adoption picking her up was a breeze! I had my carrier and collar ready, they had my sweet kitty ready! It was a perfect match and now we are so overjoyed to have her.
Maegan Cross: I had a fantastic experience adopting a cat from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in January 2022. The vetting process was thorough. Staff and volunteers are friendly, responsive, and helpful. The process was easy to access. And, best of all, I found my best friend for life (Stella pictured here)! Would DEFINITELY adopt from them again!
Amy Gregurich Lindley: Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a one-of-a-kind organization! My family and I have dealt with other rescue organizations and Lucky Dog is truly a gem. They CARE about the pups they are responsible for and have gone above and beyond when foster pups need more care (i.e. disabled, injured, etc.). They are diligent and thorough with vetting the fosters for their organization which was the reason we ended up switching to Lucky Dog as a foster (and eventually as an adopter). The adoption process is just as thorough - and with good reason - they want their pups matched with the right people and with people they know will care for them. We got pre-approved through the application/interview process and then went to one of their planned adoption events. Alessandra: To preface this, I am giving five stars because with ongoing interest and patience, I found Cookie through Lucky Dog! The first picture is when I first met him at an event hosted at PetSmart; he is being held by a LD volunteer. The next three are from the past seven weeks since I brought him home :) It did take months for the right dog to come along for me, punctuated in the middle with the unfortunate loss of a sweet dog I was very excited about. Lucky Dog maintained contact via email when I was clearly discouraged with the adoption process and answered questions promptly about any dog I contacted them about. Often the dog I had expressed interest in was already tentatively adopted by another good fit. I recommend checking the adoptable dogs daily on their website. The FIRST adoption event I went to, I expressed interest in Cookie (then named Danny), whom I had seen online. My being pre-approved to adopt a small dog definitely seemed to expedite the process. The team was clearly busy but were patient, kind, and helpful, and made sure his foster mom handed Cookie over to me and let me know what he was like during their time together. Thank you to the Lucky Dog team for connecting me with my lil guy!

Yue Yu: Highly recommend Camelot as they are exceptional in breeding puppies and providing follow-up services, even including boarding when you are on travel. Very responsible when answering any kinds of dog-related questions. Got our fawn boy Shark 1.5 year ago from them and patiently waiting for a black girl to join our family in the future!

I have had many wonderful dogs over the years, and Max is THE best--personable, intelligent, curious, loyal, healthy, friendly, with a wonderful calm disposition--my wife and I run out of words sufficient to say how great Max has been.
