tolleah price: Our child pulled a towel rack out of the wall. Apparently it was not installed through a stud. We were quoted a great, fair price for the repair. The company was on time for the estimate appointment and the appointment for the repair. They picked up the paint, repaired the drywall, repainted the entire wall, and reinstalled the towel rack. Mark Jackson: Four Brothers, LLC thoughtfully redesigned and skillfully performed a total renovation of our 1300 square foot condo in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC. And they did it while we were absent; living and working in Africa. We followed their lead as they represented us getting building permits from the DC government. As 4 Brothers developed floorplans we received clear drawings and options to choose from via Internet and worked with them to fine tune the plan. As it came time to select materials we had a few preferences that 4 Brothers acted upon and in other cases, 4 Brothers provided us good options from which to choose. Communications flowed extremely well between DC and Africa. Throughout the project we trusted their recommendations on layout, materials, changes, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, flooring and a significant soundproofing effort. We were thrilled with the results. With Alfred as lead on construction, Tamar overseeing details of interior finishes and Ben as our interface, 4 Brothers employees and teams of high quality sub-contractors worked with small spaces, difficult access, challenging aspects of the original building design, and even cranky neighbors, to ensure that our condo would be ready for occupancy when we returned from Africa. Each of the Four Brothers team members made us feel that our job was their most important. As we worked together by email and phone calls to make final decisions on infrastructure and finishing, and to accommodate our desire for some unique features such as an acacia wood bar that we shipped from Africa (a later challenge for Alfred and Phil to install). 4 Brothers excellent design and craftsmanship was accompanied by good documentation, honest assessments, and cost estimates that did not grow. And they were waiting for us the Saturday morning of our return to the United States to introduce us to our totally new home. We enthusiastically recommend 4 Brothers, LLC.

We hired them to renovate the kitchen in our Capital Hill row house after seeing the work they did for a friend. From the first visit to get an estimate through the final walk-through, our experience with Four Brothers was wonderful. A few years later, we hired them again for a full basement renovation. Peter Slonina: My wife and I had House Doctors of McLean perform a fairly substantial restoration of our 20’ x 6’ portico and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Our project required both structural repairs to the aged and dated Victorian-style vertical supports; as well as functional upgrades to the ceiling/eaves. Given we live in an end-unit row home, we also worked with their foreman, Hector, to design a custom semi-privacy screen between us and our neighbor’s unit; the result was better than we hoped and blended well into the exiting home design. Hector is easy to work with and the team assigned to our project, Jacob and Mauricio, were excellent. They showed up on time each day and got the entire project done in a week. The improvement not only extends our outdoor living space but also provides a much-enhanced curb appeal to our property (not to mention needed structural repair). Henry Jasny: My wife and I have used House Doctors for several projects and always found their work done well and their staff competent. But our interior drywall repair project (April, 2022) turned out to be very challenging. Once the old drywall was removed the workers found that the framing was all rotted away. The crew supervisor from House Doctors came to devise a plan and new schedule to include the needed major carpentry work involving an angled ceiling near windows. The work schedule was revised without delay and carpenters came the next day to get the job done. All this was done without a hiatus in the work and at a very reasonable, affordable price despite the major change in the type and amount of work needed. instead of just drywall replacement the job required replacing wood framing, protecting electrical wiring, cutting new drywall, removing and replacing wood base boards, sanding and painting. We were very impressed with the professional approach of all the staff, and the communication from House Doctors each step in the revised schedule. The workmen covered furniture and floors, cleaned up each day, and completed the work on time and to our complete satisfaction. Daniel Sagalyn: Rich and his colleagues did an outstanding job residing the dormer windows, and dormer siding of our house. I got 3 or 4 bids from siding/ roofing companies and carpenters but Rich at House Doctors really took the time to understand what needed to be done and how to do it. He visited the house a number of times to measure and scope out the job. He even returned with one of his carpenters to discuss the best way to proceed. I wanted the rotting cedar siding to be replaced with cedar siding, not fiber cement or some other man made material. And I wanted the house to look exactly as it originally did when they were done. Not a lot of tradesmen work with cedar anymore but Rich found exactly the right size clap board. In addition, Rich and is colleagues went above and beyond what was in the contract. I wish I had taken before pictures to show their complete attention to detail. We had a filthy air intake vent that was too high for us to reach, and Luis and his crew not only cleaned it, but also painted it to blend in with the wall.
