Penthouse Pool Club: what do users think?

Aaron Testa: One of the most beautiful pools in DC. Love being able to order food and drinks next to the pool. Chairs are comfy and umbrellas not hard to come by. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Herbal Essence: I work here & I Love coming to work!! The Guests are Genuinely Thee Coolest!! & My Staff members offer up the best Team Work !! They All call Me Ya-Ya!!! I’m a Server!! This is The Spot to be in DC!!! I’m here to make sure the Guest have an Enjoyable Experience!! #JoinTeamVida

Vivian Leslie: Beautiful ambiance. Nice pool. Great service and delicious healthy food.

Tyler McComas: Really the only place to spend your summer in DC. Grab a pitcher of skinny lemonade and enjoy the beautiful views!

Aposia S.: I went for a birthday party ! The rules are pretty strict. The pool and atmosphere is gorgeous along with the drinks they offer! Gorgeous pool but wouldn’t advise for a birthday party unless your over 40.

David Glover: Visited as a guest on someone else's membership. The staff were gossiping about other people at the pool (not sure of other staff or members) but it set my mood off for the entire visit. Extremely rude for them to be doing that. Very unprofessional.

Slav Gatchev: Yes it is great on many levels literally. But cocktails are really inconsistent and service is impersonal. Can be truly great but final touches are missing. Still let's not have the great be the enemy of the good.

Mai Nguyen: Food was mediocre. Service was surprisingly good. They even remembered people's names. The pool was okay, definitely did not feel heated. There was no music by the pool area which was weird.

D: Customer service lacks and they should be offering some extra curricular activities as well as dirty roast beef. Next time I'll be driving a go-kart and pretending that I'm princess

Ian Edgley: Wonderful area for VIDA Gym members to relax. PLEASE NOTE: The penthouse pool is only open to VIDA gym members. The pool and bar are not open to the general public, and there are no pool passes you can buy for access. THE PENTHOUSE IS FOR GYM MEMBERS ONLY.

Wilson Aquatic Center: what do users think?

Hanna Foreman: Great neighborhood pool. The staff is friendly and place is fairly well maintained for a public pool. However, finding a lane can be hard during the post 5pm rush so plan accordingly since you will be competing with swim classes and other 9-5ers.

armis sadri: I’ve been a competitive swimmer & lifeguard for years. Unfortunately DC public amenities have never been of good quality and this applies to this public swimming pool. Honestly doesn’t deserve a one-star. 1. Wilson pool is always full. I tried coming on early mornings, mid-day & afterwork and 5-6 lines are always closed no matter what for different and random classes and meet ups and so called lack of staff while they literally do push ups and play group activities near the children pool. It’s intentional as enough staff walk around the pool doing nothing or are in the life guard room checking phones. 2. After work during the week is awful since besides those 5-6 closed lines, 3 ppl end up swimming in a lane which should be illegal and while you’re swimming random meet up groups show up claiming it’s their line so ppl end up waiting 10-15mins for two lanes and they don’t allow you to swim in the children’s pool. It’s a joke just wasting your time arguing with staff who have no common sense and threaten you to call police if you swim in children pool 3. Stay away from this pool as it’s too dirty with no supervise. Once I was swimming and noticed some stuff goes into my mouth went down deep and noticed there were so many used bandaids in the water, let the lifeguard know and they just came and said gross, didn’t even bother to close the lane and clean. 4. Amenities and shower are so gross and dirty full of empty bottles of shampoo and ppl’s hair clogging the shower. 5. Brought all these issues to the attention of pool’s manger and DC team and no response just heard it is what is. 6. Nothing is posted on their webpage in terms of what classes at what times are going, what lanes or how many lanes will be closed or they’ll be closed because of an event you go all the way and noticed sth on the door so call in advance. 7. As a swimmer, I tried three competition pools in Virginia (NOVA) and regret living in DC, the VA pools were so clean and well maintained. DC residents suffer with such low quality and scarce public amenities and council members. 8. Avoid this pool unless you have no option and just want to go swim, do lapses in your lunch break hoping you won’t get sick.

Murad Efendiev: This is bar none the best public pool in dmv area. it needs maintenance but overall unbeatable. not for swimmers who like warm water.

Francine Steininger: Pool has been very cold lately (Early 2022). Not sure what's going on but it takes a lot of swimming to warm up. Nice sized pool but showers are cold, often not working, or not draining well, and people don't clean up after themselves in the shower (leaving hair, soap or shampoo bottles behind, etc)

kathleen gough: Great pool, family changing rooms are not in great shape, but the pool itself is worth it.

Marla Hunter: Excellent pool area. The children's area is just the right temp for swim lessons.

John Clisham: I just called to get some swim team information... the young man on the other end was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Tristana Fiscella: Such an amazing pool. Olympic size! Check ahead about which way the lanes go that day. Also there is a large hot tub and a very, very robust kiddy pool area! Afterwards grab a bite at the Whole Foods salad bar or a smoothie at Robeks and hop on the H bus! The sunlight coming through the building really makes this pool awesome.

Chris Peckham: It can be busy at times, but hands down my favorite public pool. The hot tub is amazing.

Eric Wuechner: About one theft (locker break in) a week, according to the police, so purchase a heavy-duty lock, and you should be ok. The pool can be frigid, so be prepared. M, W, F, S 50 meter pool.

Banneker Pool: what do users think?

Brenna Killeen: A great place to bring kids! Can be very crowded but the pool itself is clean and well managed. I didn't check out the bathrooms or changing area.

Kay: they let alot of people in without proper bathing suits but wouldn’t let my friends brother come in with regular clothes even tho he wasn’t swimming that day. OH, and i was drowning and the life guard didn’t save me. a stranger had to save me. please watch your friends if they can’t swim because the life guards are to busy flirting with the girls in the pool. but besides that, it’s a big pool, it’s free to go in. only rating it 1 star because why hire a life guard when he’s just sitting there talking to everyone and not being alert of his surroundings to make sure no one is drowning. smh

Kevin Rose: Don’t come to this pool!! I came here on Memorial Day, so of course I knew it would be packed and kinda crazy. My locker was broken into, the lock was stolen, and my wallet and my friends wallet were stolen. Our cards were taken to target and immediately blown up with charges. Loud, crowded, unsafe!

Rosy Beauty Secrets: Pretty cool but the bathrooms are dirty though, the curtains will make wanna 🤢, seeing people walking barefoot in the bathroom and swimming in the pool turned me off lol. Other than that it’s pretty nice there

Tiana Lynn: DC resident of 35 years and lived in the neighborhood all my life and this is my first time here. I love it. It wasn’t too safe here way back when, but it’s good now lol

Avital Ornovitz: Love this pool!! The 50 meter lap lanes are great because even when you share with multiple people, there is enough length that you aren't on top of each other. Don't bring valuables in, when I was there last week a woman's bag was stolen while she swam. Mornings are the best time to come, it gets crowded in the afternoons.

Peyton Doyle: Awesome perk of living in the District. Public pool that is huge, clean and plenty of seating– but get there early or you’ll be laying on concrete. Attracting a wide array of District residents, this place remains a staple in th swampy summers.

inteking1888: It's a public pool so there's no need for too much scrutiny or praise. Has two pools one being a separate shallow pool for kids, the other being a large grand pool good for laps as well as chilling out. My favorite thing about this place is, since alot of the neighborhood kids are running around out of their minds, the staff are too busy making sure none of them end up going belly up to watch out for my tall boy cans of malt liquor. CHEERS!

Timothy Aguirre: Great pool, but short staffed. Had to stop swimming due to lack of lifeguards.

saahib aalim zafir: Banneker Pool is a great place to go during these hot summer days. The pool attendants are friendly and its not far from McDonalds if you have a desire to cool the pool munchies.

The Lane Social Club: what do users think?

Jalan W B: Hosted a celebration for families there last weekend. It was really nice. We reserved the rooftop and semi private space. It was awesome. The staff (Danielle and Robyn) were super helpful with setting up and clearing things out. Minimal decorations were needed because the party space was so beautiful. We will be back 😊🌟😊

Nida Gelazis Johansson: We hosted a birthday party for my daughter here and Robbyn and the staff made everything seamless and easy, offering carts by the door to bring in all the food and decorations and even bring us big bowls of ice to keep our canned of drinks and juice boxes cool. The kids had a great time, the only downside was the crying by some of the 4-yo guests when we had to say goodbye. We felt lucky to find a partially outdoor space for a party with only about one month's notice. I suspect that this will become harder to come by once the news gets out that the Lane didn't close after all. Thanks to the Lane for being a perfect host!

Paige Hibbard: I know there are a lot of challenges with a business model like this, and I want this kind of model to succeed (I know the pandemic has made things hard). We were first time visitors and there were things we really liked but also a few reasons why we probably won't be back. I met up with a friend who lives nearby and it was great to have an alternative to the children's museum. Both of our daughters were crawling and not walking yet and there aren't many places they can explore. We loved the toys and thoughtfully designed areas. The check in was also professional. $20 for two hours seemed like a lot but for local moms a membership would be perfect. The location is great and convenient. Unfortunately cleanliness was a big problem. This could be improved by having more hand Sanitizer and wipes available. Also a place to put toys that had been mouthed. Maybe consider closing for an hour to clean? That's what our gym daycare and port discovery children's museum does. Shutting down for an hour would put some limits but I would much rather have a clean facility for my child. The Cafe was not open while we were there I'm not sure when it's available. There was a leak that came from The ceiling while we were eating. I had to notify an employee who we saw just use a cloth. No cleaning supplies or Sanitizer at all. This was the same spot our daughters had just been crawling so Thankfully they didn't get the gross water on them but it made me question the overall cleanliness of everything. Things happen But it seemed like a serious leak coming from a bathroom upstairs. The out of order elevator just had the doors open too and I had to make sure my daughter didn't go in (she loves all the dangerous things of course). I hope you can take this constructive criticism so that you can improve and serve more families. ❤️

Lauren Dreyer: I can’t say enough good things about The Lane. I’ve recommended it to dozens of local friends, and even to some out-of-towners when they come to DC with kids. It’s an amazing space for kids that, most importantly, is GREAT for parents too! As apartment dwellers, we are always venturing out of the house for more stimulation. The Lane is so much fun for our daughter, who adores all the toys and activities and play spaces. It’s one of those amazing, and nearly impossible to find, spots that has enough to keep kids of all ages entertained for hours. And we parents enjoy the coffee and beer and rooftop deck and sunshine and clean, safe, creative, and thoughtful space within which to let our daughter roam free! It’s a great alternative for winter or rainy weather, but we love it so much that it’s become a regular part of our weekend routine, even when the weather is nice!

Rebecca Oldfield-Frey: Kid heaven...parent hell? No, actually it was a cool place. They do a nice kids birthday with an awesome custom cake, and my son loved all the physical indoor play options. There's a bar with coffee and beer for the parents, too.

Austin Graff: As a parent who lives in Washington, D.C., I often find myself driving out to Virginia or Maryland to keep my daughter entertained during the winter months. Thanks to The Lane Social Club, I'll never leave the District. Here's why every parent should visit The Lane Social Club: 1) Space: In a growing city like D.C., large spaces are hard to come by leaving people in cramped spaces. Not The Lane Social Club. It's in a stand alone large industrial building right next to the historic Hecht Warehouse (apartment building) in Ivy City. Inside, the ceilings are high and there's plenty of open space for your kids to run around. If you take the stairs to the very top of the building, you'll find a cafe, a nursing room, more family restrooms, a party room (with a capacity of 60 people), and a large rooftop for events and outdoor play. 2) Play areas: There's plenty for children to do. On the bottom level, there's several play areas with toys for infants and toddlers. The floors in these areas are cushioned. There's a reading nook with bean bags, a ball pit, a shelf of more toys, a kid-sized rock climbing wall, and a few other spaces for kids. If you go up the stairs, you'll find two net tunnels leading to a net slide (the nets can carry up to three eleplants, so it's very safe for your children). There's also a 12-foot winding slide that's very fun. 3) Amenities: There's plenty for kids, but what stands out are the spaces for adults. There are two cafes/bars (one on each floor) with bar seating and tables. The menu includes locally roasted coffee (from Small Planes Roastery nearby), wine, beer, smoothies, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner food (the avo toast and bagels look great!). 4) Events: Their party room is great for a kid's birthday and they plan to do many activities throughout the day from sidewalk chalk to crafts to hula hoops. 5) Price: For such a large space filled with amenities, it's not a bad price. It's $95 a month for unlimited visits a month for two parents, two kids, and one caregiver. It also gets you 10% food and drink. If you drop in, it's $20 for all of those people. They also do a new parent membership for $175 for three months of unlimited visits and 10% off food and drink. The Lane Social Club is the space D.C. parents have been dreaming of and we're glad it's a local business started by two locals.

E .GC: I liked this place a lot at first and went frequently but was turned off when I went one day and they told me it was at max capacity for that session. It was empty. I had to wait 15 minutes to go in and when I did, there were tons of people who showed up. It felt nonsensical. It made me feel really sad because the child I was with kept wanting to go through the doors and play and couldn't understand why we had to stay in the waiting area.

Trevor Diaz: Full disclosure: I am heavily biased in favor of The Lane because of a deep seated desire for it to thrive. In simple terms, there’s nothing like it anywhere within DC for parents and kids. If I’m not mistaken they just, and I mean only just now, opened and everything shows so much promise. It’s open, it’s friendly, it’s terrifically accommodating, and it’s also so very shiny and new. The owners have a Herculean task ahead of them with regard to long term maintenance. I am hopeful that guests will maintain decorum in an arena that has yet to establish written rules about hand hygiene, where to take off shoes, respecting the elements, and cleaning up after their kids. It is early, it is deserving of a 6-star start. If you live nearby and are searching for anything that’s an indoor/outdoor space for kids and parents you’ve found it. You must come and see.

Emily Pierce: I'm half of one of those lucky couples that got married in 2020... or attempted to and then had to reschedule and re-plan before finally tying the knot. Lucky for me though after having to cut our guest list and find an indoor-outdoor spot, I came across The Lane and Molly's team by complete chance. And while wedding planning itself may have been a dumpster fire in 2020 - The Lane and Molly made the venue portion SO EASY and SO SEAMELESS. I was hugely impressed by not only the space, my groom and I did an impromptu "send off" down the slide obviously, but also the kindness and flexibility of the whole team at The Lane. If you're looking for a spot for a small-medium indoor/outdoor gathering (whether you're reading this during Covid or after) - definitely check out The Lane. The rooftop makes for some pretty photos even though you're in the heart of DC, the bar makes it easy for hired caterers to come in and the flexibility and ease of what The Lane offers makes them an awesome venue to work with. I can't wait to return once the world goes back to normal and eventually make use of their family friendly offerings!

aiyana poe: Great service, they offer a variety of classes and community involvement for children and families. It is a great indoor playground in the middle of the city.

Wakefield Aquatics Center: what do users think?

Steve O: This is a great pool facility. It will be nice when they return the locker rooms to full operating ability. The hand/hair dryers and suit dryer would be especially nice during the colder months. Assume they are off due to COVID.

Jean Horner: Renovated in 2013. Large windows let light in. I used to bring the kids when they were little and we had a long weekend. It felt like a vacation for a couple hours

Kevin Cronk: It's better than I would expect a school pool to be

Matthew Scherbel: Never had a problem reserving a pod in the shallow end to go wadding with my 9-month-old. Pods are large enough that social distancing is maintained which is key because you dont wear a mask in the water. Plenty of single family changing rooms to shower and towel off and change ny baby's clothes or if you might he bashful about changing in the locker room. Nice staff.

M Cornish: The pool and facility is great, staff is friendly, and if you choose the right times lanes are available. The water quality is really good! But lets be honest; it's at a high school and the men's looker room could often use an extra cleaning. The facility gets really crowded on Saturday's during lessons. I wish they would stay open an extra hour,.

Maria: Water is ok, salty somehow but no complaints since it’s a public pool. Parking is easy. Not crowded. I typically go there after work and I can always find a spot. Women’s shower room can really use some improvement. Drainage is not working, shower area is flooded, a lot of showers don’t work properly and some of the lights are broken. Swimming suit dryer is broken.

Angela Webster: I so Enjoy going there it's a clean Environment and the Staff is Always very Helpful and Attentive to Guest And the Guest are very friendly and Supportive of my Weight loss Journey i look forward to my visits to this facility.

grundged: Nice pool, but very expensive! Also if you work a normal work schedule and try to swim in the early morning and evenings then pool will be crowded. Have to share the pool with high school swimmers and other classes so don't expect a free lane. High school locker rooms not so great and parking is a pain. Considering this is a high school pool, prices really should be cheaper.

matt smith: They're open every day but sometimes closed for swim meets. They do send out emails and tweets to let you know when they have special closings. The water is cold which is good for lap swimmers. The showers are nice and hot.

Jeff: 30$ a month, totally worth it not crowded early mornings. Serious lap swimmers it's great. kids on the weekends. 2 pools but always a lane open and I have yet to circle swim.

Yorktown Aquatics Center: what do users think?

Harry and Karen simmerman: Beauty, well designed and equipped aquatics center. Kids were being instructed at various swimming levels....super well supervised

James: This pool is wonderful. Warmer than any of the DC or MD pools making the winter swims comfortable.

Regina Mercado: Very good structure, nice e crew. I'd like a little more teachers I. The pool with the little ones...but they are awesome!

Lorna O. Davison: Great reasonable place if you are a resident of Arlington VA. Swimming lessons for toddlers

Local Guide: The pool is cold but once you start swimming it fells warm. They also have 2 diving boards and a kids pool. The life guards a great. But the locker rooms are not clean and very dirty.

Mason Eoyang: Facilities are nice for a public pool, good variety of classes available. Admin staff seems a tad under trained, but they are hyper vigilant about what goes on in the pool. Sometimes hard to find rec space around camps and lap swimmers. Arlington county pool passes are accepted here, and there are lockers available so long as you bring your own lock. Discounts for County residents, but even so a single visit is not super expensive.

Justin Clark: Friendly Staff, Very competent managers, affordable prices, and friendly staff. This pool is probably my favorite in Arlington by far. If I could change one thing about it, I would make the mid-day hours longer.

Jason Despain: Safe and reasonable place to exercise during the pandemic. Everything worked as planned, and the water is a good temperature for lap swimming.

Erika Burns Moore: Nice pool with diving board, lap lanes, open space for classes, and a kiddie pool. Locker room could use more frequent cleaning thiugh

Karen Brown: Nice but noisy facility. The family bathroom lacks sufficiant benches for changing and the floor is always flooded with water.

Allentown Splash, Tennis & Fitness Park: what do users think?

Chanpen Tee: There are 6 outdoor courts. They are ok. The restroom is clean. And there's a lot of parking lot

Rich B: Nice pool and friendly staff. Pool area needs better filtration to avoid breathing so much chlorine. Assisted doors for wheel chair access have been locked on weekends for years according to staff so not wheel chair accessible even though they have pool chairs for people with disabilities.

Cathy Mcduffie: Love this pool. Staff are very friendly, pool and hot tub water temps are good. Changing room and showers are clean.

Virginia Newman-Yates: I received the sweetest reception and service. I was able to register for my upcoming water aerobic classes. My mission was pleasantly accomplished. Kudos to Ms. Charlene and the other young lady that was on duty.

May Saffar: great customer service, clean, good size pool, I like their early opening hours

The Cheeks Connection: The splash was extremely clean and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had an awesome time.

YoMags “Mags”: This pool and fitness center has been a mainstay of this PG County neighborhood for many years. It is a clean and professionally run recreation facility that has a wide variety of activities and classes for all ages. Come get in shape, make some new friends, and have some fun!

Lynn Frasier: Nice pools! Good classes and selection. Staff is friendly, class equipment plentiful and in good shape so really. Tennis courts are in nice shape.

Kia Thomas: I went swimming in the inside as always enjoyed my swimming and jacuzzi time with my fam💯🤞🏾

Oak Marr Rec Center: what do users think?

Minerva Atilano: As a family, we're trying Oak Marr RECenter through a great offer of 30 days for $30. So far, so good! Great place, plenty of parking spaces, good equipment, nice gym, spacious rooms to practice karate, and an awesome pool! Now, I'm taking Swimming I class for adults and the experience has been so great! My instructor is very kind and knowledgeable!

Shante Freeman: Plenty of grass and turf field area. Practice your good swing. Good playground facilities for kids. Pool. Exercise room. Classes. Everything you need in a local rec.

David Zlo: Nice place to spend a few hours with your family. Children love it and adults can enjoy the pool or hot tub. I would recommend have your own water and snacks.

Viska Marchelen Widyaastuti: I come here to spend my weekend at the indoor swimming pool. It facilitate a hot tub close to the pool so you can take a break little bit or just warm your body up. There are some guardian who will stay there in case someone need help. This place is clean and big, it also welcoming birthday party for kids. One thing that also important that, the people are nice and helpful.

Elizabeth A: Great pool! Only negative is there needs to be more lanes for lap swimming on the weekends.

Penny Schaefer: If you have mobility challenges, getting in and out of the pool can take some extra effort. The pool temperature is comfortable. There are many lanes, but on my visits, it was hard to find an open spot. Many are reserved for lessons. The locker rooms are a bit dated and in need of a little maintenance, but they provide ample space and areas for dressing and shower privacy. Lockers require quarters, not locks, but they are large and plentiful.

Yeni E: UPDATE 11/2020: They started accepting more people, which led me to stop going. It's still 2 people per lane, and every lane was pretty much "full" whenever I went. Totally not a problem in a non-COVID world, so I may wait to go back for a while. This review is strictly based on my experience at the pool today, which is about a week after they opened back up after covid pandemic started. Hoping this answers some questions people may have during COVID. I didn't know until I got there, but you need to make a reservation before you go. They open for 90-minute blocks, and at the end of every block they clear out the pool and clean for 30 minutes. Fortunately the pool capacity wasn't full so they let me go in. There were 4 other people there, in their own lanes. Lockers are prohibited at this time so I changed real quick in the locker room and put my bag on a designated chair by the lane in the pool area. People who were not in the pool (including life guards) always wore a mask. I think they're doing a great job keeping everyone safe and enjoy the pool 👏

Karen Cullen: 1st Mini Golf of the season. Course needs a bit maintenance but still lots of Fun!

Wanda Cruz: Nice place to hang at. My child had fun. Robert Arguinzoni treated us kind and generous!

Cbrx: I really like this place as the membership is reasonably priced for its pool. It isn’t too crowded at the right times, and you are provided with a schedule of when the pool is open to public. The only complaints I have are that the showers do not have curtains, the beach area is dirty, and the water is cold. You get used to it after a bit though.

The Watergate Hotel: what do users think?

Catherine Misleh: Worst service I’ve had in a long time - possibly ever. This rating should be negative zero stars. My mother is visiting from out of town (very far away) and I had planned a nice day to include afternoon tea for the both of us as a special treat. We do not get time together very often. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we arrived and the restaurant had no signs of life - closed without notice. I went to the concierge desk of the Watergate and was informed it had been closed days before with no explanation and that they were sorry but the reservation must have been made through a glitch in their system. The woman behind the counter was very nonchalant and not at all concerned, even when I showed her proof of my reservation. Funny since I received both an email and two text reminders asking me to confirm, and was also charged for a prepaid tea service. The Watergate staff did not offer any recompense, said I would have to resolve the charge to my card online, and to "try Georgetown” for something today. Absolutely unacceptable! I will not be returning and will make sure to recommend against it every time. I thought it would be fun to try, but there are plenty of better other and obviously better options in the area anyway. I should add there were a couple of other guests in front of us who seemed extremely distraught by poor service and their rooms not being ready, so overall I would say this establishment should be passed over in every respect.
Response: Dear Catherine, Here at the Watergate, we make guest experience a priority. We are sorry to learn of your recent troubles with our Afternoon Tea experience. We were open for afternoon tea this day, we are investigating this matter and will be reaching out to you shortly. We thank you for sharing your feedback and hope that you will consider joining us or staying with us in the future. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Olivier Saint-Vincent: 100% recommended!! If you are looking for a 5 stars ⭐️ hôtel in DC, this is the one. It was perfectly located for us between Georgetown and the Mall (walking distance), and very quiet at the same time. Gym, pool, jacuzzi, library, breakfast are great. You can walk by the Potomac easily… and it’s one of the best rooftop in DC. The architecture is beautiful and bold. The staff is very attentive and always there to help. We can say that the new GM know how to make a stay unforgettable!!!
Response: Dear Olivier, WOW! Thank you for leaving such a detailed and shining review. We are so pleased to hear you decided to stay with us for your visit to DC and made use of our outlets during your enjoyable stay. We will share your feedback to our wonderful GM and our entire team. Please come back soon, we'd love to have you as a guest again. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Adam Galazka: Absolutely stunning hotel. Amazing location by the Potomac River. Walking distance to many different stores and restaurants. Check in was great. Valet parking on site for $58 a night. Rooms are spacious and the most comfortable bed. Some rooms do have balconies with waterviews but they are a little dirty. When trying to call the front desk it took awhile for them to answer the phone. Besides a couple of those negative we would definitely come back.
Response: Dear Adam, Thank you for a detailed review. It was a pleasure to have you as a guest at The Watergate Hotel. We will be sure to share your remarks with our team. We hope to see you again soon! Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Denny: Obviously a great hotel. Beautiful and clean rooms and amenities. So modern and its history is cool and embraced throughout the entire vibe of the hotel. However, I had kindly asked them to put roses in my Suite Room for Valentine's Day, and, after assuring me they would, there were no flowers or anything in the room, and, on top of that, they double charged me and held us up for 30 minutes at Check-In while I was with my girlfriend trying to get to bed late at night(later corrected and attributed to third-party booking?). A final nail in the coffin, in the morning, a hotel representative entered our room without our permission before our Check-Out time to "put the temperature at 72" and apologized because the room was supposed to be "empty." Truthfully it feels like it could be an unlucky experience at a good hotel, and I might even still recommend it if its within your budget for its pure elegance. But I really thought after all that, they'd give me a night free at least.
Response: Dear Deniz Mete, We are sorry to hear that you had mixed feelings about your stay at The Watergate Hotel. Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. It is important for us to that all guests have a seamless experience. We will have a member of our team reach out to you. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions, comments or suggestions at info@thewatergatehotel.com. We hope to welcome you back soon for a chance to provide a more improved stay. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

A. H.: Disappointing experience this time around. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, but recently it’s gone a little downhill. The mandatory valet parking definitely needs improvement, as the attendants take 20-30 minutes to retrieve or even park your car. They were not at all friendly, barely spoke English, and left my car reeking of weed or tobacco smoke. Absurdly expensive rates given the terrible service. A cheap motel could’ve handled valet parking better. Embarrassing! Room and location are great. Front desk staff are super friendly. But frankly the valet service was so consistently awful over three days, that I probably won’t return again (at least not with a car).
Response: Dear A. H,, Thank you for being a repeat guest at The Watergate Hotel and for your kind comments about the room and location. We are sorry that your experience with valet did not meet your expectations. Our team strives to provide top service and it is unfortunate that you had to encounter this experience. We have shared your feedback with our team. We hope to make it up to you again soon. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Preeti Dawane: While the staff was great, the hotel itself cannot call itself luxury by any stretch of the imagination. On our arrival to our rooms, our bedsheets were DIRTY WITH STAINS. I have stayed at 3 star hotels where I have NEVER encountered such an issue. For the prices they charge, the Watergate is absolutely not worth the stay. The only reason this hotel gets ANY stars is because of the staff who took care of us. I definitely don’t include all of the front desk staff in that praise. I also was never contacted about the issue with the sheets. I had to follow up about the issue. We also have not received our itemized bill following check out. I’ve really never been more disappointed with a “luxury” hotel than this one. I will NEVER stay here again. Such a rip off.

Princess Good: Overall, this hotel is nice and I would probably stay at it again if I had to. Our double room seemed smaller in person when compared to the online pictures. The modern half-door for the shower was very weird. I don't think the tub was being cleaned while we were there for more than three days. Everything else was decent. I noticed the hotel is not very sustainable. It doesn't seem like they recycle there.
Response: Dear Princess, It was a pleasure to have you as a guest at The Watergate Hotel. Thank you for a detailed review and for sharing your honest feedback. As part of our sustainability measures to save water, we have cards in each room to leave when you want a full cleaning as well as a recycling initiative. We hope to see you again soon. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Anne: Great views and ambiance. They have blue light gas fireplaces in the middle of the group tables which are really nice. I know every review mentions it, the reviews mention it for a reason: they serve you $18 cocktails from plastic cups! ALSO: PARTIES OF 8 OR MORE HAVE A $100 MINIMUM PER PERSON. It's on their website in small print, but that should be in large print.
Response: Dear Anne, Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the views and ambiance of Top of the gate. We will share your comments with our team members. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Andrew Nelle: Beautiful inside and out! Wonderful staff, very accommodating and eager to please. Anwar showed us the infamous Scandal Room 205, this is the room where all the presidential drama of 1972 went down. This hotel ain't cheap, be prepared for the 29$ resort fee and the 50$ parking fee on top of your regular room rate. Pool, hot, tub and sauna are unreal, all saltwater infused. I highly recommend this spot!😎👍
Response: Dear Andrew, Thank you for your review and recommendation. We are so glad you had a wonderful stay and were able to view the Scandal Suite and enjoy Argentta Spa. We cannot thank you enough for choosing The Watergate Hotel as your hotel of choice while in DC - we hope to see you soon! Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Christina Thompson: The valet and bell service was great. However a love cockroach was found in a towel when husband showered. The front desk didn't answer phone after several attempts when we couldn't connect to the wifi. Also, out refrigerator was barely cool. Lastly, the tempering control wouldn't chill the room under 75 degrees.
Response: Dear Christina Thompson, Thank you for your review. We are thrilled to hear of your wonderful experience with our valet and bell service team. We appreciate your feedback and have shared your comments with our operations team. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Forest Hollow Swim Inc: what do users think?

Joseph Lilli: Great pool and community. There is a covered pavilion for our parties and enough water for everyone.

Genia Kenschaft: A great family-friendly pool. Features competition-size pool with about 8 lanes, a baby pool, a newly renovated shower house, a shallow end to the big pool, a large picnic shelter (great for birthday parties, etc.,) and many tables with umbrellas an

EpicSpaceTroll 139: It's a fun pool to bring kids too. There's a diving board and a slide, and also a kiddie pool besides the main one. There's also a swim team. Ok I may be slightly biased because I work there, but hey! It's fun to swim there when off work, and having been a member at Lincoln, I can say the quality of lifeguarding we provide is better.

Loui J.: Wow. Amazing pool. Fantastic life guarding staff. My child was conceived here. Great memories.

Eric R: Great for kids and families. Super noisy and impossible to relax. If you have a family, this is the place to be. If not, find a different pool.

Luke Elkins: Super nice lifeguards, wonderful pool for everyone!

Carolyn Lemens: The lifeguards are super friendly. A great place to spend your summer.

Dia Karakantas: Great community pool. Big and lots of seating.

ligia espinosa: Very clean and friendly

Kevin Morris: Great place for a late afternoon swim meet! Awesome host families and wonderful amenities. Thanks for having us!

Goldfish Swim School - Alexandria: what do users think?

Samantha Youngblood: Goldfish Swim School is awesome! The staff is very competent and they know how to engage with kids in a manner to quickly teach them how to be confident swimmers and also make it fun in the process. My daughter, Victoria is 6 years old and she absolutely loves her weekly glider 2 swimming lessons! Goldfish is the right place to enroll your kid for swim lessons! They will benefit greatly and will love it!
Response: Hi, Samantha! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a 5-star rating!

Anthony Slade: Goldfish is awesome. Love the confidence that this helping my son develop. At first in the infant classes, the quality of the coaches was pretty inconsistent. But now he’s in the toddler class and, Coach Jess, is amazing! Highly recommend Goldfish to any parents that want to keep their kids active.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, Anthony! We are so happy to hear your son is seeing extraordinary results swimming with us at Goldfish!

Alex Navarro: My children have been attending swim lessons here for nearly a year. The facility is great. It’s always clean and they have everything you could need. There are changing rooms, showers, blow dryers, and even a bathing suit dryer that spins the water out of their suits before you take them home! The staff is just lovely! They always welcome you as you walk in the door and every instructor my child has had is absolutely wonderful. They are so great with the kids and make them love swimming. We had only planned to go for the summer, but my children did not want to stop because they loved it that much. Now the reason I did not give goldfish 5 stars is because there is some room for improvement. One, the app is great and shows where the children are assessed on different skills at each level, however my children’s scores have only been updated once. They have clearly mastered skills as they’ve moved up levels but it is not reflected in the app. If they have this great tech, I just wish they’d use it. The lessons are also a bit pricey and they don’t really get as much attention as I’d like because the classes have up to 4 children who take turns with the instructor. So in actuality a 30 minute lesson is more like 10 or less minutes of actually swimming per child. Lastly, using your make up tokens is nearly impossible at times. They only open a week before so it’s difficult to plan and some classes never seem to have any available makeups. Overall, we do like this swim school and will continue to go because the staff and instructors truly care about our kids (shout out to Mr. Alex who is awesome!)
Response: Hi Alex - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us! We pride ourselves on our safety-focused curriculum that includes a 4:1 student to instructor ratio which has been proven to be very effective for our students. 30-minute group lessons are the perfect amount of time for kids to focus on proper technique and water safety skills, while also learning and gaining confidence from their fellow peers! We also understand that it can be frustrating to find a time to schedule a makeup lesson. We try to accommodate our members to the best of our ability and are sorry we were unable to fit in your makeup lesson sooner. We did want to let you know that we do share progress reports out monthly to share your swimmer's progress! You are also always more than welcome to ask for your swimmer's skills to be evaluated by one of our Deck Supervisors. We would appreciate the opportunity to answer any questions regarding our curriculum, your swimmers' progress or our makeup policy. Please reach out to us at (703) 348-3261 to discuss your concerns with our management team!

kathy yang: Nausea even think about the goldfish this brand name. Greedy, sham. They used lots of beautiful words and smiles to tempt you to join. But once you join, things became totally different. All the promises turned out just liars. Too much deceiving and misleading. They also have huge turnover. Don’t trust this brand. I can’t believe you paid over 30$ for half hour only get this kind of service. BTW, under no circumstances they will refund you. Because you signed the unfair contract imprudently under being deceived. There are many other swimming schools in this area. Safe, clean, and honest, with dedicated teachers who has passion with teaching, who can actually help your kids make continuous progress. Way better. Not a group of students here occasionally to make some pocket money. Again, stay away from Goldfish commercialised swimming school
Response: Hello, Kathy. We’ve searched our records extensively and have no record of you ever being a member at Goldfish Swim School - Alexandria. Since we don’t have a record of your membership, we can’t reach out to you to try to address the situation. We were able to connect with the other schools in our area and found out you were actually enrolled at the Goldfish Swim School - Silver Spring location. Since your experience didn't take place at Goldfish Swim School - Alexandria, we would greatly appreciate you removing this review. Thank you.

Jacob K: This GoldFish Swim School is very good, how the environment is decent and clean, instructors are very patient and caring. Recommended to all.
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to rate and review us, Jacob! We are thrilled to hear you are having a Golden Experience!

Danika Denzer: We had such a great, accommodating experience at Goldfish Swim School! Miss Grizelda took my 4 yr old from zero to swimming by herself in just a few months. She went above and beyond as a teacher and really put her at ease. My daughter looks forward to class and we love her confidence in the water!
Response: Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Danika! We are thrilled to hear your daughter is seeing extraordinary results swimming with us at Goldfish!

Pam Johnson: Goldfish Swim School-Alexandria: Swim Force is DANGEROUS for Children Our six-year-old son successfully progressed through all of the Pro Swim levels at Goldfish Swim School-Alexandria between 2019 and 2022. We were very pleased with the high-quality instruction he received and enthusiastically enrolled him in Swim Force. Based on our son’s success with the Goldfish approach and our positive experiences with the Alexandria location’s swim instructors, we expected nothing but good things from his participation in Swim Force. However, based primarily on a Swim Force instructor’s abusive and unsafe behavior toward our child in May 2022, we ended our affiliation with Goldfish Swim School-Alexandria. Details below. In an incident during a poorly managed dodgeball game in the pool at the end of Swim Force on May 15, I witnessed a swim instructor (who probably weighs at least 250 pounds) grab my six-year-old son’s foot in the pool, pull him under the lane line, hold him very tightly with one arm around my child’s torso, and forcibly move my child against his will to a different part of the pool. My son yelled several times in protest, “Stop!” and was visibly upset and alarmed by the instructor’s unprovoked act. Despite my child’s multiple pleas, the instructor continued to tightly squeeze my son’s mid-section, encouraged the other children in the pool to, “Get him!” and threatened my son several times, “I’m going to make you a hostage,” all of which confused and frightened my child. Though the incident happened quickly, I am certain there was absolutely no justification for the instructor’s aggression against my son. As soon as the instructor released his grip after roughly 20-30 seconds, my son got out of the water and met me at the exit from the pool area because he was afraid for his safety. As his mother, I was afraid too. In the changing stall at Goldfish, during the car ride home, and at home with my husband, my child made it crystal clear that the instructor had hurt him physically and emotionally. My son cried about the instructor’s physical abuse that caused him pain in his mid-section for the rest of the day. My child expressed fear and anger about the instructor’s violent behavior. And my son repeatedly said that he did not want to return to Goldfish, a place that he had previously viewed as the “fun, friendly team environment” touted in the company’s promotional materials. Goldfish’s guiding philosophy claims to be rooted in “a safe environment and learning through guided play at any age." But the May 15 dodgeball game and the instructor’s physical abuse of my child were neither safe nor guided. Even before the May 2022 incident with the swim instructor, my husband and I were concerned that Goldfish’s advertised safety standards—which were consistently applied during Pro Swim lessons—were not applied during Swim Force lessons at the Alexandria location. On multiple occasions, there was no dedicated and properly equipped lifeguard on the pool deck. Also, the ratio between students and instructors was often unbalanced, with the lane for the least advanced swimmers lacking consistent adult supervision. Finally, my husband and I were very concerned that during the “free” period at the end of every Swim Force, many of the instructors left the pool area to prepare for closing at the end of the day, or engaged in rough horseplay with each other in the pool instead of watching the students. Plain and simple, Swim Force is dangerous for children. Based on the instructor’s betrayal of my family’s trust, combined with the lackadaisical attention to basic water safety standards during Swim Force at the Alexandria location, we will never return to Goldfish. Never.
Response: Hi Pam - As discussed with you, we are so sorry you feel this way. Our team has reviewed the situation internally several times, and while we disagree with what you claimed happened in the pool, please know, we have taken proactive steps with our instructors for Swim Force to reinforce best practices to ensure we provide the safest environment for our students.

Erick Nemec: So far it has been great for my toddler son. Her current couch, Lily is great and very encouraging. My son loves his class and I can see how fast he is improving.
Response: Hi, Erick! Thank you for the 5 stars!

Val G: Nice set up. COVID safety conscious which is great.. Instructors are good and friendly.. Easy and free parking. Not a great value for the amount of time spend with each child. Extremely expensive! Private lesson prices for group classes.
Response: Hi Val! We appreciate you taking the time to rate and review us and are happy to hear you are enjoying your lessons. Our curriculum is designed with the kiddos in mind. 30-minutes is the perfect amount of time for kids to learn and retain new safety skills as well as learn from their peers. If you ever have any questions regarding our curriculum, please feel free to reach out!

Malika Salim: Initially I posted a review regarding my opinion on the assignment of instructors. After a very lengthy discussion with one of the owners, I must say I was extremely impressed, not only with his patience with me, listening to all of my concerns; some he adamantly disagreed with, and others he took into consideration. I have totally changed my mind AND my review. Thank you for hearing me out, and making me rethink my opinions, and realize some were based on emotions, not facts. A sign of a good, sincere, customer service oriented owner.
Response: Hi, Malika. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to talk to us yesterday so we could address your concerns. We aim to treat all members and guests with Integrity, Compassion and Trust while being 100% committed to going above and beyond with every detail to create a GOLDEN Experience! Thank you again for your time yesterday and for choosing to swim with us at Goldfish Swim School!

North Springfield Swim Club: what do users think?

Anahi M: Incompetent lifeguards… I’ve had to help countless of little kids from drowning in the 3 1/2ft to 5ft ends when there were perfectly capable lifeguards. I understand they have around 40 other kids to supervise at the same time on a busy day, but at the same time, what is that worth when they can’t even notice when a little kid underestimates the depth of the area in the pool ????? What is all that training for??? The lifeguards here seem perfectly content with taking the pH of water and looking at the seating areas instead of actively looking for children that are in need of help

Kristin Balbuena: I love the community atmosphere at NSSC. Everyone is so friendly and the swim and dive team coaches, members, and families make my children feel like all-stars even when they finish last. There a lot of social activities (float nights, water aerobics, trivia and movie nights, a chili cookoff, and the most family-friendly and best flamingo party by far), and one of the club members volunteers as our local DJ--he is fantastic! It's so nice to not have to cook two evenings in summer. Wednesdays the grill is fired up with hamburgers (usually $3) and hotdogs (usually $2) along with chicken, tacos, or brisket, depending on the night; Fridays we have a food truck come. The snack shack has health options and probably more selection than some larger neighborhood pools. My kids (now 9 and 12) practically live at the pool all summer long. It's great that the older teens and younger kids (even at 6 and 7) all play together--volleyball, foosball, jenga. It really builds a sense of a village. And it's been fun watching kids who were in elementary school when we joined now be lifeguards. The tween/teen swim team members teach the littles (3+) to swim through our Little Flippers Program, which is ridiculously inexpensive! Both of my kids are graduates of that program. There is a lot of shade during the day which is great for a break from the bright sun.

Jessica Albers: Great community. Beautiful grounds with lots of peripheral shade. Baby Pool is mostly shade covered. Clean facilities and knowledgeable staff. In light of Covid, the club is running a carefully social distanced, reservation-based program. I feel comfortable bringing my young family here and staying safe.

Jennifer Ellis: The pool has become our summer back patio. It's so much fun to come by for an hour, an afternoon or a day - to relax or spend time with the friendly folks from the neighborhood and to enable my children to make lasting memories. There are so many social events to choose from in so many different interest areas. The swim team is fantastic. They have really formed my daughter into an excellent swimmer and my son is excited to do his first year this summer. I love that practices are both in the morning as and the evenings to meet the needs of working families. The Little Flippers program to teach children to swim has to be the best deal in the area. The classes have an incredibly low child to adult/teen ratio and the frequency and ability to practice at the pool ensures success. We haven't done tennis or dive yet, but I look forward to my children taking advantage of both in the coming summers.

Cam Honti: Attended a pool party at this location. Staff was friendly and the party area was nice! They have a small park for the kids to play on if they want to take a break from swimming, a nice size kiddie pool, and a large main pool. The main pool has two lap lanes, a dive area, and the main area which ranges from 3ft-5ft. Great place to throw a party.

Peter Smyth-Hammond: Went for my nephew and niece's swim meet, not a member myself, but it was a beautiful spot. They have a nice pool deck, well manicured grounds around it and the restroom/changing facilities were clean and well appointed.

Marianne May: Clean pool. Thanks pool crew. Located with enough shade for the afternoon and lovely sun for the evening.

Dave and Debbie Ingram: Very family friendly neighborhood pool. Love it!

Harold Salters: One of the best and one of the last community-run pools around. It's a jewel in our wonderful and diverse North Springfield neighborhood.

Annandale Play-Care: We love this swimming facility. We take our Summer Camp every year!

Edsall Park Swim Club/Pool: what do users think?

Jackie L.: I love this place. It is not very crowded and the people are so nice, relaxed, and friendly. The pool is clean and with not that many kids, as compared to others. The membership for a single person is very reasonable, as compared to others who do not have a single person rate. I also like that they have a monthly rate, which is how I came to know this place. I like that the chairs and tables are close by the pool, also unlike other places. Just like the gym, the 3 C's checked out - clean, convenient, and cost effective.

GraceMarie Neary: Great little pool with a great group of families.

Ahmed Ali: Treated me well

Martin Luther King, Jr. Indoor Swim Center: what do users think?

Leah Arielle: Got my kids enrolled in their swimming classes. They have all year round affordable swimming classes and the instructors are nice. But once the class schedules are available, enrollment has to be quick inorder to have a spot. Because these classes fill up in the twinkle of an eye😉. They also have great customer service and their very polite.
Response: Thanks so much ! We have a great team at MLK and customer care is one of our priorities!

Julian Delaney: While enjoying a pristine poolside day, another patron had a seizure. It was amazing to see pool staff and first responders (2 of whom were RNs) take control of the situation and stabilize to individual while paramedics made their way to the scene. Very comforting to know that my family is in good hands while attending the pool. The Lazy river and waterslides are amazing. Website hours wrong. Peak Season Outdoor Pool hours: Monday-Friday 1:00pm - 8:00pm Saturday-Sunday 12:00pm - 8:00pm Non-Peak Season Outdoor hours: Monday-Friday 1:00pm - 7:00pm Saturday-Sunday 12:00pm - 7:00pm Indoor Pool hours: Subject to change Source= Pool staff

Thumble: nice pools for practicing swimming and clean locker rooms. would recommend here.

Rachel Gordon: I bought the 12 pass so I could visit each and every single MOCO pool. This one is tiny, and crowded for lap purposes.

Charita McCoy: Love this place! Take my campers here each week just to relax and get out. There's no need/ feel for so much safety (for those non swimmers) because the main water (outdoor) park is only 3 ft 5in deep. There's also a lazy river that circles you around the whole main center pool. You can still watch the kids while riding on as well or take them along for the ride with you if they are too small. 😎

Kuma: The indoor pool sucks save you money. They constantly tell you to get out because some group is training or the loop is closed

atomgerlt: The worst pool experience I've had this summer. The kids were looking forward to having fun but the kids indoor pool is untidy, place smells bad and one of the managers is very unpleasant, rude and goes out of his way to ruin patrons' experience. Might be best to redirect energy at making the place a better space for the community to enjoy. Wrong person for the job.

TSEMU: My daughter is taking a swimming class. The lesson is not really helping. Planning to do it again. I am revisiting my post after three years, but nothing has changed. My son is attending his second round of beginner's class but nothing is really helping. First, securing a spot during registration period is a nightmare. To add on that, the class is not helping the kids to learn swimming. I am going back only because the kids enjoy it.
Response: I’ll share this with the Aquatics leadership team

Oscar A.: Watch out for 12116 Arbie Rd. They be stealing CC info. Watch y’all’s purse 👀

Jeff London: Wonderful facility, amazing and incredibly supportive staff. It's my favorite pool to use when in town visiting mom.
Response: Awh thanks so much! Our staff are amazing !

Jolly Yolly Kids Indoor Playground: what do users think?

Kiersta Navarro: My daughter loves this place! The only issue, which isn’t the staffs fault, is that there are many parents not watching their children very closely. If you have a little one, just be extra careful making sure that they don’t get run over 😅 other than that, it’s lots of fun!
Response: Hello Kiersta, Thank you so much for this feedback and rating! We will definitely have our staff keep and eye on the baby area to enforce this policy! We love having you in to play and hope we see you back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Dana Blanco: My daughter loved coming here to play ! She made a few new friends and had a great time . Masks are required for ages 5 and up . It was not so busy when I came around 12pm on a Wednesday. Friendly staff. Plenty of places to sit. Will be coming back for sure . 😌
Response: Hello Dana, Thank you so much for this review. We love having your family in to play. We hope to see you back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Joshua Flores: What a great place! Staff were super super friendly even when all hell was breaking loose and it was nuts on a Saturday afternoon. If you want your little kid to blow off steam this is the place to be! I got my 3 year old thoroughly tired for $16 so I think that’s money we’ll spent. Plenty of great places for parents to sit and chill. Lots of Covid safety measures in place if that’s a concern of yours.
Response: Hello Joshua, We appreciate your kind words in regard to our indoor playground. We strive to maintain a safe and fun environment for both kids and adults! We are happy it is easily noticed and appreciated. Natasha H Store Manager

Wes Basco: We recently had our son's third birthday party here using the private party/event package. Upon initially booking the date weeks ago, Stephen was extremely helpful and professional in making sure all of our bases were covered for the party. The price for the private booking was affordable and reasonable, and our attendants were impressed with everything about the party (most importantly, the kids had a great time). I would say that Stephen made everything easy and seamless from his end, from gathering all of our food and decorations, to telling us what was next in the party schedule. The only leg work I needed to do was bring everything the morning of, and Stephen and his staff took care of everything else which allowed us the entire time of the party to give attention to our guests and their children. We had a Blues Clues themed party and the staff was able to transform the party room in a matter of minutes. My wife and I are extremely impressed with Jolly Yolly Kids..not so much the venue (which was great by the way), but the service provided by Stephen and his staff. I wish we had a half an hour or hour more, because that's how fast it flew by! They really made a great impression, and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you for making our son's third birthday memorable. Wes
Response: Hello Wes, We are so happy to hear you say those kind words about Mr. Stephen. We hope you guys come back and play soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Sarah Young Knowles: We love Jolly Yolly and have been coming here since before the pandemic. They've worked hard to create inviting and clean play spaces for a variety of ages. My son is 5 now and I'm very comfortable with allowing him to run around by himself and play. They have a good security system in place so that your kid can't leave the area unless they are with you. Great snacks and drinks, too!
Response: Hello Sarah, Thank you for these kinds words. We hope to see you back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Carla Williams: I brought my 4 year old son to Jolly Yolly’s on yesterday. Check in was great (it helps to complete your waiver online before coming to the facility). My son thoroughly enjoyed himself. On a Sunday afternoon, it was really busy with parties and open play, but he jumped right in and navigated his way though like a champ. I like the hand sanitizing stations and the structures large enough for me as a parent to crawl through with my son! He went to sleep during our drive home and after wearing himself out. Great price, awesome staff and the safety measure wrist bands to connect my baby to me is a winner! I wish this was closer to where we live, but I’ll definitely bring him back!
Response: Hello Carla, We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed our indoor playground! we hope to see you back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Meera G Parikh: We had a great experience with Jolly Yolly. The person assigned to us was very helpful and responsive. Got all the setup done with no issues. I also liked their security of checking to make sure the correct kid is going back home with the correct parent. One of my guests lost their wristband and they wanted us provide proof that the parent and child belonged with each other. I really appreciated their diligence. It does get a little crowded and rowdy when there are multiple parties are going on but they handled the process with ease.
Response: Hello Meera, Thank you so much for this review. We are so glad our efforts of keeping everyone safe has been noticed! We loved having you and your family in for play, we hope to see you back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Jessica Ramby: So happy with how everything went for my son’s 5th Birthday. Stephen was amazing. Had all the decorations in place better then I even envision. The venue was perfect for the kids and adults enjoyed too. Having a private event felt so special and comfortable especially during a time like this. Having a party planner keep the flow going helped take stress off so we could enjoy too. I loved that he cut the cake for me and packed everything up after. He made it look so effortless but those small things helped so much. People are still talking about how much fun it was. Thanks again for a great birthday experience!
Response: Hello Jessica, We absolutely LOVED having your family and guest at our indoor playground this past weekend. We know planning a party can be quite stressful especially during times of COVID and we wanted to be there for you any way we could. We hope to see you guys back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Wasima Siddiqui: We threw our child’s birthday party at Jolly Yolly for 30 people including kids and it was a wonderful experience! The staff is super efficient and Ivan was our host who helped us set up the entire party room. He did most of the work for us and was very courteous and understanding. A staff member went through the event schedule with us well in advance and everything turned out just the way we had planned. The space is bright and clean. We definitely recommend this place if you want to host a fun birthday party.
Response: Hello Wasima, We loved hosting your child's party! We hope to see you back soon! Natasha H Store Manager

Carol Lang: I don’t normally ever write reviews on anything however I felt compelled to write this review because I have witnessed the staff being harassed by many customers for things that are simply out of their control, such as the mask mandate or because adults are required to do a waiver. I had an AMAZING experience at Jolly Yolly kids indoor playground. The staff is outstanding and always has a positive attitude towards customers. Natasha the store manager has always gone above and beyond to make sure that my family has a great time. Nicole who is another staff member has also gone above and beyond for us by playing with our girls when we come in. My family and I are regulars at this establishment and it’s nice knowing everyone on staff and having them know you, since this business has tons of people coming through everyday, it is nice coming in and having the staff remember you. This indoor playground is also the cleanest and safest playground my family has visited in the DMV area. As for the mask mandate, they do require 5 and up to have a mask on, which is not that big of a deal for my family and I. Although I know others might not agree with this, there are other indoor playgrounds in the area that you could go to (just not as clean, safe, or nice) so if wearing a mask is that hard for some people there are other options available, again you choose where to take your kids…
Response: Hello Carol, We truly appreciate your understanding of how we operate. We love having your family in to play with us. We hope to see you back soon! Natasha H. Store Manager

Glen Forest Community Pool: what do users think?

Jessica Clavijo: Love this place. It has a diving board!! People is so nice and kind. Just make sure you are a member and take with you your pool tag.

Kit Kat: This small community pool has the basics and nothing more, but the low cost of membership and the friendly people earn it 5 stars. There's a wading pool for the kids, a deep end that's actually deep, a diving board and plenty of tables with umbrellas. There's also a full-time life guard on duty, decent showers, and a snack stand with reasonably-priced snacks. It can be a little hard to find, but the secluded nature gives it that "beachy" feel, and the surrounding woods add to the relaxed nature of the place.

Walter Flores: Lifeguard was nice, but the lady in charge wasn't nice.told the Lifeguard to kick us out.

Rocio Flores: Terrible they td as we have to leave vuz there was going to be more people coming and there only one family at that.poo the lady was so rude sure we will noy go back

Frank: Nice little community pool and park for the Glen Forrest Neighborhood Association. Quiet and out of the way, I loved riding my bike down here and hanging out at the pool all day.

Pam Martinov: We have been members of this pool for over 30 years. We love it!

Leighton: Been going here for years, Very community based, Great fun for the whole family!

David Itkin: A hidden gem. No frills, no waiting list. Friendly community.

Michelle L. Sams: Kiddie pool not available

Srini: This is a great pool.

Dumbarton House: what do users think?

Elise F.: Very nice historic site and interiors. Small parking lot a plus for visitors. But many steps up to the site.

Skye Brockman: Stunning Georgetown venue. I am a photographer who found their staff to be great and the entire place to be picture perfect.

Austin Graff: Dumbarton House is a historic house in Georgetown built in 1800 when the federal government was in Philadelphia and not D.C. It was a private residence until 1928 when it became the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America HQ. Four years later, they opened a house museum inside. They offer tours for $10 and it takes you through the house museum on the ground floor and the exhibit on the second floor, which rotates every six months. There's also a large garden on the property as well. Dumbarton House also hosts some of the most unique events in the city- 1) The Dumbarton House in Georgetown hosts some of the most unique events in the city- 1) Jane Austen movie nights on July Wednesdays in the garden, 2) Ice cream making on the lawn in honor of First Lady Dolley Madison, 3) Afternoon tea for families, and 4) Chamber music concerts. If you love events and history, it's worth a visit. The staff are also very friendly and very knowledgeable about D.C. and the museum industry.

Byus Mommie: Went for a free concert night. Don't explore anything but they have nice little lawn..

Bob Lavelle: Great architecture of the Federalist period. Also historical cemeteries nearby, worth exploring as well.

Mike Wehrman: Interesting history & loved the story of how women led preservation efforts. Not slot to see, but worth an hour or so of time.

Arianne Mix: My party payed $10 each for a self-guided tour. Much of the museum was closed off and, although there were some interesting rooms (I think there were three in total), the entire experience was very underwhelming. I love this sort of thing and so have gone to a lot of similar places, and this simply was not well done. If it were free I would give it a better review, but paying $10 for it was ridiculous. Would not suggest.

Martin Reyes: Very elegant great 4 wedding anniversary special events we highly recommend this for your next celebration

Nicolás Arango Vergara: Not fun at all, the experience is just one bedroom, some information, and that is the end of the tour, for 10 bucks each person, it's a scam, and do not recommend, unless you like the person

Amos Cheeseboro: To be honest, I was working there as a banquet server for a wedding reception. But the house was amazingly beautiful! I recommend people to visit.

Glenn Dale Splash Park: what do users think?

Maha Aub: Perfect for kids , there are many splash pools for toddler and kids - from 1 feet to 3and 1/2 feet deep as maximum . An online reservation ( park direct ) make you avoid the waiting line . The team and The life guards are professional and doing very good job . They give 10 minute break each hour ( I found that good for kids ,parents and guards )

Turner C: This is a fun clean space for the family. My wife and I take our children here all the time. It is perfect on a warm summer day. You can bring snacks and drinks to the splash park and can find ample seating at the various tables. Also remember if you have young children than all life vest must be coast guard compliant. Get there early so that you can get in. Also if you pay online in advance than you aren't required to wait in line. Instead walk to the staff member holding a paper at the front. They have a list of everyone who registered and paid in advance.

Jeff Schwamb: Great little slash park with a maximum of 3 1/2 feet deep and a side little separate splash area for toddlers. Highly recommend reservations.

Sunnie Jackson: Really great for kids 2 to 5 due to the slide and separate area! There is also a side for big kids and strong swimmers with a bigger side and deep water.

TIFFANY PLEASANT: The front desk staff Joann is horrible. Refused to answer any questions or look up any information on events at this center as "she didn't have the time to" was her response. This is not my first call to the center, this is their typical response. Being new to the county and this area, I would have thought this center would have a bit more professionalism.

Favour Ikechukwu: Didn't know what to expect when we made reservations, but honestly, my kids and I had the time of our lives. The kiss from the sun was greeted by the coolness of water. I looooooveddd it.

Natalia Garcia: Love small pool and slide for kids. Nice and clean. Great costumer service.

Jamelle Thomas (JPie612): It's nice and clean and my little one had a great time. Most of the part caters to small children but big kids had a blast too. The bathrooms were pretty clean but you can't expect too much from a pool bathroom. There was adequate soap available when I went but no way to dry your hands. Overall I would take my kids again, preferably on a slightly cooler day, though the kids didn't seem to care.

StrongCurvyFit Fitness, Family & Wellness Advocate: Super fun and family friendly! Clean restrooms and fun but professional life guards too.

Arieon Days: It was a fair experience. It's a bit small but the kids (2 and 3) thoroughly enjoyed themselves. For small children, it's really great because it's not a lot of walking you'll be subjected to. From what I noticed it only goes to 3ft. Plenty of lifeguards around.

Great Waves Waterpark: what do users think?

Deborah O'Brien: The Great Waves Waterpark has ample space for alot of park goers. There is a variety of activities for all ages. The lifeguards were very focused on the swimmers. They were friendly yet clear on the rules. We brought food and had to leave it in the car. It was nice to be able to have the option to leave, eat and reenter the park. Fun way to spend the afternoon. Definitely will go back.
Response: Thank you Deborah. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Great Waves Waterpark. We hope you come back and visit us again very soon.

MADINA Abdoul-Aziz: Mom, the kids and I for $59(being a resident) enjoyed our time there. Three things you should know are: - The waves area go very deep and for non swimmers like my sons and I we got pull close to 4ft and bail out after 30 min - the donut ball are first come first serve - The eating area was ok but I didn't like the kitchen. I realized they were teenager (to save money I guess) and it wasn't too clean and many people in the back for no reason since the food is premade and put in the heater ready to be serve. The cashier was telling the manager to let other come and clean and she was telling her to tell them and she was saying "you are the manager I am not...it's your duty). I also have dirty fast food smell. I guess trying oil in the air the trash can weren't helping.
Response: Thank you Madina. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Great Waves Waterpark! Thank you for your feedback about our concessions. We will work with our management to improve our operations to the five star level we require. We hope you come back and visit us again very soon.

Maia Rodriguez: $48 for 3 individuals to gain entrance to this Virginia parks and rec facility. Nice staff. Good to do on a hot day. There's a wave pool that runs every 10 minutes or so. You can grab a tube if you like during those times. There's also a playground, a large area for younger children to swim and run through running water, as well as some slides. We spent about 90 minutes here on a hot summer afternoon. For me, the fact that we can't bring in outside food is definitely a mark down. We try to eat healthy, and you'll only find things like pizza, hot dogs, French fries and Dip n Dots here. The admission price is much higher than similar county waterparks such as in Calvert County. There is lower admission price for seniors, but not for military. Additionally, there's mini golf and a few other activities. All in all, for us, would I come back here? Possibly. The cost was very high for the kind of activities and amenities offered. We enjoyed our time but the children are hungry by the end of the experience. You can get wristbands and leave and come back if you choose to. But then you have to haul all your stuff in and out. This would be a great option for birthday parties and perhaps for families with younger in particular. There's options for older children, but not as much for teens.
Response: Thank you Maia. We're glad you and your children enjoyed your visit to Great Waves Waterpark!

Amber Asamoah: For the price and location this waterpark is a good option. There is a wavepool, several slides, a splash pad, and a wading pool for younger children. We had a very nice day here but were disappointed in the food options as they only served hot dogs, French fries (which were terrible) and funnel cakes. My review would be much higher if they had better food options (including healthy options) or allowed you to bring your own food.
Response: Thank you Amber. We're glad you had a great time at Great Waves Waterpark. We appreciate your feedback on our food options and will take it into consideration when were are planning our concessions menu next year. We hope you come back and visit us again very soon.

Ellis Woods: Grandkids loved it. We had a ball. For the price and amenities, I thought it was an excellent deal. The lifeguards there were very attentive. Plenty of space and activities for the children. Keep up the good work.
Response: Thank you Ellis! We're glad you and your grandkids had a great time at Great Waves Waterpark! We appreciate your feedback. We hope you come back and visit us again for another day of endless summer fun!

Michael Erb: I had a great time going over there. Met allot of new friends. Invited my friends over there before in the past, donated, and had a great time. One of them had told me about this before and took me only there once, then already came allot, when I gotten my pass or if I only needed to pay a day at a time.
Response: Thank you Michael! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Great Waves Waterpark!

Grayson Lang: The place is great, and the kids had a terrific time last time we visit here. My only suggestion is, If you don't want to pay for their expensive meals, I advise you to bring your own. Despite being acceptable, the meal is not worth the price.
Response: Thank you Grayson! We're glad you and your kids had a great time at Great Waves Waterpark! Please note, outside food is prohibited in Great Waves Waterpark. However, if guests would like to bring their own food they are welcome to have a picnic at their cars and return to Great Waves once they are finished eating. We hope you and your kids come back for another day of endless summer fun!

Sasha Conley: Price was cheap..my niece who is 3 turning 4 enjoyed her self.. although the yellow slide seems to be an issue seen the life guard have to jump in twice.. park closed do to bad weather but we still got a few hours in so worth it. Food would eat before I come or after fries tasted like funnel cake..funnel cake was super oily. Also better training for your employees it was almost a fight between workers and it was out of control..
Response: Thank you Sasha! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Great Waves Waterpark. We appreciate your feedback about our concessions and will work with our staff to provide a higher level of customer service.

Diane Leiter: Obviously it's not open right now, but it looks like a really fun place. There is music playing, and the miniature golf is open because there are people playing there also. Handicap accessible, and lots of parking as it is attached to Cameron Run Regional Park.
Response: Thank you Diane! You are correct--we are planning to open Great Waves Waterpark for the Summer 2021 season! We hope you will visit us for a day of fun in the sun!

Sierra Pryor: The waves aren't too powerful, and aren't too weak. The water is cool and refreshing. The food is good and warm, and the drinks are good and cold. Many seating areas.
Response: Thank you Sierra! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Great Waves Waterpark! We hope you visit us again for another day of endless summer fun!
