Washington Physio DC LLC: what do users think?

Brett B: I cannot stress enough how great the therapists at PhysioDC are! Dan was especially awesome and I highly recommend him and the rest of his team to anyone in need of physical therapy. They genuinely care about getting you back on your feet / in the swing of things (depending on your injury!) in a safe yet efficient manner. Do yourself a favor and go here!

ES295: Professionals who actually care about your recovery. I was very nervous that I’d never have full capability after Achilles heel surgery. Josh Ripp worked with me and I’m back 100%. Not all therapy practices are alike- despite what my surgeon said. Some just check the boxes and you’re just another lump of meat with a co pay. PhysioDC takes the time to listen and care unlike any others. Full credit to Josh and company for my recovery.

Janaye Dzikewich: A genuinely caring group of physical therapists is hard to find in this city. Each staff member at Physiodc is professional, honest and takes your recovery to heart. I leave each treatment feeling as if I am apart of team - not just a patient with a billing code.

James Schafer: This is by far the best Physical Therapy group I have found around the city. The therapists are top notch and you receive 1st class treatment. No techs, interns, noobs; you get a great, real life PT for a full session. I have rehabbed a serious spinal injury here and have nothing but great things to say about the administration and therapists. Just let them know what type of injury you are working with and they will find the right therapist for your needs. A++

Sarah Mitwala: Was referred here for dry needling. Very painful process which I wasn’t prepared for initially, but it has made a pretty big difference for my lower back issues. Definitely not for everyone. I’ve also seen Daniel for regular PT and strengthening exercises and would recommend seeing him if you go with this practice.

Alan Fields: Friendly ,competent and professional and they utilize the full time. I have had PT services in the past that would cut corners on time.

Jeffrey Hauser: I have had a tremendous experience with Chris and the entire practice seems very well run. Diagnosed and attacked my weaknesses with clinical precision.

District Performance & Physio: what do users think?

Taylor Steadman: Short Version: District Performance & Physio taught me how to manage my pain without pills, connected me with a trusted new neurosurgeon in the area to get a second opinion, educated me on my options and informed me of the current research, and most importantly, helped me get my life back. If it were not for Jesse and his team, I would have had an unnecessary neck surgery and I would not be living the active, healthy, and happy lifestyle that I am now. Long Version: As a last ditch attempt to avoid neck surgery, a good friend of mine (a physical therapist in North Carolina) mentioned I should contact Jesse (the owner) and his team was before deciding on surgery. At this point in my injury, I had lost hope that I might get better. I had severely herniated a disk in my neck 12 months before seeing Jesse’s team and the current neurosurgeon I had been seeing told me it was time for a fusion or a synthetic disk replacement. As a 27 year old athlete, I was devastated to hear this. My previous physical therapy team (before District) was not helping me improve and I was sick and tired of taking pills to mask the intense breakouts of pain. Reluctantly, I made an appointment with District Performance & Physio. Dispute my reluctance to go form a new relationship and spend time and money, there is simply no replacement for the one on one time you get to spend with this team’s individual therapists. When you have an appointment, you are not seeing an assistant to the therapist, you are seeing THE therapist. At each appointment, you have the full attention of the therapist you are working with, which allows for a different physical therapy experience than you might get elsewhere. Most physical therapy businesses are more or less “farms”….they judge their success by how many patients they can fit in a day, not how their patients overall well-being increases. This is NOT how District Performance & Physio functions. There is simply no price I could put on the immense progress I have made while working with their team. I remember in my first appointment, Jesse mentioned that he will be assessing me over the next few sessions to understand more about my situation. Based on what I had told him and my recent neurosurgeon visit, he didn’t know if I would improve, but he knew in about 3 appointments that he would be able to tell if I was going to improve. He also told me that if that were not the case and I couldn’t improve, he would give me a refund for my sessions. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a therapist you can trust - one who will set realistic expectations. The team at District Performance & Physio is engaging and truly cares about my health progress. They are interactive and always go above and beyond to make sure my needs are met. Lastly, I always leave my appointments having worked hard and having had a blast. Jesse and his team taught me how to manage my pain without pills, connected me with a trusted new neurosurgeon in the area to get a second opinion, educated me on my options and informed me of the research, and most importantly, helped me get my life back. If it were not for Jesse and his team, I would have had neck surgery and I would not be living the active, healthy, happy lifestyle that I am now.

Caroline Zenkel: I have been seeing Jesse since July 2021, when I had a tear in my hip labrum and a hamstring strain. Jesse was the second PT I saw, and made me feel much more confident in my abilities. I was able to start working out pain free faster than I was originally told from the other PT. I continue to see Jesse to work on strength and conditioning. If I ever feel a tweak, he has made himself available for quick chats so I know how to adjust my fitness routine. Jesse is a master of his craft, very warm, and has helped me tremendously. While I healed from my injury, I plan to continue monthly sessions to keep in shape. Highly recommend Jesse/District Performance as the best PT in the District.

Nicolas Sensenbrenner: I’ve been working with Jesse for three years now. We’ve successfully addressed lower back pain, and hip and ankle issues. He’s very goal oriented. Every time I see him we work together to diagnose my problem and develop a plan to help me get back to healthy movement. He also checks in with me regularly to see how I’m doing. When I developed tendinitis he identified strength imbalances that contributed to my ankle pain. He gave me ankle, knee, and hip exercises and explained to me that I needed to strengthen muscles up the chain to stabilize my ankle. Jesse held me accountable for doing my exercises, tracked my progress, and encouraged me to push when I hit a plateau. After more than one year of recovery I am running again. Jesse is always eager to help. I’ve sent family and friends to see him. He reaches out to them personally to understand their problems and their goals. I highly recommend Jesse and the District Performance team.

Ilyssa Haffner: Jesse is a great physical therapist who is very knowledgeable and thoughtful in his approach. He makes you feel immediately comfortable and has never had the mindset that stopping movement is the answer to healing pain. So grateful that I found someone whose able to help alleviate pain while allowing me to remain active. I’d recommend highly recommend Jesse and team to anyone I know!

Robert Alter: Overcome low back pain. Jesse helped me understand the underlying causes of my low back pain and patiently address them step by step. My back feels stronger, more flexible, and more resilient than it has in a decade. I am an active person approaching 50 -- with walking, jogging, yoga, strength training, and martial arts all part of my regular activities. I had suffered periodic episodes of low back pain for more than 25 years, becoming more frequent and more intense in my 40s. A spasm during my most recent episode left me wincing for more than 10 days and searching for a new approach. With his rare combination of art, science, empathy, patience, and communication, Jesse helped me reframe mentally and physically everything I had been doing for years to "protect" my back. Working with Jesse has been the single best investment I have made in my health. I am so grateful for his help.

Corinne Acosta: I felt welcome at District Performance from my first phone call. After years of being in and out of physical therapy, I quickly sensed that I was being heard. This held true for my in-person appointments with Ariella. I came to Ariella with a range of issues, but she worked with me to set some clear goals that worked well with my existing strength training routine. For the first time, I had a PT who understood the importance of my training, and I love that their team often does workouts together. We got to the root of some of my main nerve tension and neck/back pain quickly. And I’ll never forget how after 32 years on this planet, someone finally taught me how to breathe properly! Thank you, Ariella, for creating such a safe space to take care of my body. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, and I really look forward to our monthly check-ins.

Rose Leonard: Ariella has been so helpful in addressing tailbone pain that I noticed after beginning weight lifting. After just a few sessions I have been able to do exercises that I couldn’t dream of doing a few months ago. Ariella is incredibly knowledgeable and caring in every meeting we have and sets out a very clear treatment plan for me to follow. The results have been amazing. I cannot recommend her enough!

Washington Wellness Physical Therapy and SportsCare, LLC: what do users think?

Stephanie Sneary: Always excellent care! Washington Wellness therapists have assisted me with recovery from surgeries multiple times since 2012 and they are always my preference for PT care.

Dana swendsen: There great I called as a new patient and they were able to get me in the same day. My Physical Therapist Kristi is great she is very caring and I trust her with my knee. The whole staff is always pleasant.

Peter Sexton: Washington Wellness has been great for my rehabilitation! Kristi has been great, and makes sure to put together a plan with your specific goals in mind. I would first recommend not getting injured, but if that fails I would definitely recommend Washington Wellness

Stoyan Dimitrov: The whole team is engaged from the minute you walk in the door. Front desk is polite, helpful and extremely nice. Appointments are scheduled easily, reminders are set and send, so you have one less thing to worry about. Everything is well explained and communicated from the beginning. Best place for physical therapy ever. Here, you can find professional therapists and friendly staff. And what is also important - team members fit your needs and accommodate your situation. Keep up the good work!

Elite Physical Therapy & Wellness Center: what do users think?

Jamie Kaplan: Terry is a fantastic physical therapist and one of the best in the area. She works closely with their patients and knows the DC medical community well. The one down side to being one of her patients is that wait times can be long when transitioning from working with a tech on exercises to seeing Terry in a room. Hopefully the practice can address this so that things are a bit more efficient, but again Terry is a great PT.

Jenna Pekofsky: Terry and the whole team at Elite Physical Therapy and Wellness give therapy and healthcare a good name. They all pay attention to each patient thoroughly, are incredibly knowledgeable, and committed to using many tools, methods, and modalities to give you the care you need. They take the time with manual therapy and develop excellent home exercise programs to speed up recovery and find balance in the body. For something as disheartening as having chronic hip pain form an injury, being there makes me feel better every time- it’s just good place to be. I have been to other PT clinics, and they just aren’t as invested and hands-on as they are at Elite. I’m grateful to have found them for my care and recovery!

Morgan Powell: Johan is the best physical therapist in Washington DC. My husband had previously received care with Johan previously and I knew that I wanted to go to him to help rehab my knee. He provided a personalized care plan and modalities EVERY session. I will go see Johan every time I need physical therapist.

Tasha Pulvermacher: Great experience. Had major back pain which is now dramatically better/gone. I highly recommend Johan Arango for all your physical therapy needs. His exercises are very practical and helpful for long term relief.

german quintana: I visited Johan after strong pain in my back and neck. After a detailed screening, he performed an excellent therapy that worked very fast. Excelente professional, fully recommended.

Alan Helig: Johan is excellent! I was in a terrible accident with damage to my spine and shoulder. I had significant nerve issues, muscle ,and skeletal issues all of which are gone. No pain! Thank you!

Winston Kelly: Johan and Luis are incredibly detailed and skilled in their respective fields. Both the physical therapy and personal training services have immensely helped me as I recover from injury and as I regain my strength. They offer an incredibly large suite of services, care, and treatment for all kinds of needs. I cannot recommend their business and services enough!

D K: Johan is extremely professional, knowledgeable and considerate. He takes time to understand your concerns and design your exercise program to meet your needs. He is specialized in dry needling. I was a patient to him for long lasting muscle pain and received dry needling. It’s been 2 months since I received it and have no pain now. I have seen him working with his client with enthusiasm and compassion. I would highly recommend him if you’re looking for high quality care.

Luis Humberto Benitez Gonzalez: The service and attention were impeccable. I came to the clinic with pain in my lower back and in the sciatic nerve, from the first session with Johan I noticed the improvement. Being disciplined with the exercises and recommendations that he indicated to me, the pain has almost completely disappeared. He continually sent me follow up messages to find out how I was doing and make adjustments to exercises or reschedule more sessions. Highly recommended!

Tania Esquivel: Excellent service and personal attention which is hard to find in the DMV area. Johan is an outstanding bilingual physiotherapist very people oriented, therefore, I highly recommend his services. Within two sessions my backpack was gone.

Pure Sports Physical Therapy: what do users think?

JP A: Purvi managed my rehab following rotator cuff surgery. I chose her for the rehab after I learned that my shoulder surgeon went to her for his own physical therapy. Selecting Purvi turned out to be a great choice. When we started, I could not lift my arm 90 degrees. Now, after months of rehab with Purvi, I have full range of motion and am able to play golf again—which was one my objectives. Aside from her very capable technical skills, Purvi is personable and has an excellent bedside manner. It was a joy to work with her. I heartily recommend her to anyone needing physical therapy.

Ahmet Tokpinar: I have been seeing Purvi over a year for shoulder rotator cuff recovery. She is probably the best PT i have ever worked with. Very attentive and responsive and she is very experienced in dry-needle therapy which is a life saver. Highly recommend her!

Mc Bobby: I would recommend Purvi @ Pure Sports Physical Therapy without reservations. For better or worse, I’ve had a lot of experience with physical therapy due to a number of sports related injuries. The results of that therapy have been mostly a mixed bag given that some of the practitioners that I worked with were often overwhelmed with their workload, and/or not always that attentive or diligent. So when my physician recommended some additional therapy, I went to Pure Sports with some pretty low expectations (despite some really good word of mouth I heard about the practice before heading in). I am sure glad that my expectations were found to be wrong. Purvi is incredibly dedicated to her patient’s long-term wellbeing. She listens, she comes up with a practical recovery plan, and she also keeps up with the latest in clinical trends. She’s a consummate problem solver, and at least for my part, I am far better off due to her treatment. If you must go through physical therapy, Purvi’s professionalism and demeanor makes the whole process entirely worth it.

Alison Marriott: Purvi is an outstanding physical therapist! She has helped me recover from various injuries over the years. Her technique, knowledge, personality and professionalism are all great. Would highly recommend.

Vidal Sadaka: Purvi is the best! Her combination of dry needling and strengthening exercises has really helped alleviate my pain. She is very knowledgeable and always upbeat!

Cim Weiss: When I was limping in pain, when I was unable to twist my head, and when I broke my shoulder, Purvi gave me back my life. Even though the exercises are sort of boring, do them faithfully - they work. I plan to see Purvi once a year for a general check-up.

Vital Physical Therapy, Washington, DC: what do users think?

Sherry Burke: Chili is AMAZING! I have had my share of physical therapists due to injuries from working out and a bike accident. NOONE was providing any long term relief. Luckily when working out with one of my trainers, I met Chili. I only wish I had met Chili a long time ago. She has some how fixed my shoulder problem, my pain the a$$ Sciatica and regualar maintenance. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chili

Martin Lowe: Chili has help heal a partial Left rotator cuff tear and I am currently working with her on right rotator cuff full tear post surgery. 6 months post surgery and 90 % better. She is amazing and I recommend her for all my clients when they need a PT. She knows how to push and recommends the proper exercise for the best results. She is great!

Brett Bivans: I had issues in both my hip and shoulder/neck. The muscles were contracting and not releasing - both tension and pain. Chili was able to isolate the muscles, massage them to release, and show me how to stretch and relax in my day to day. In one case, dry needling was the trigger to help the muscle to "let go". Chili is great: not stressed about time, gives me a few exercises I can do on my own, communicates with both my doctor and my trainer to give me a 360 plan. PLUS takes insurance.

Maggie Schilling: I worked with both Chili and Vikki after dislocating my shoulder while roller skating. I had pain and limited range of motion when I started therapy and left 10 weeks later with almost all range of motion recovered. This was my first experience working with a physical therapist. Both Chili and Vikki are great. It is a small practice that is truly a one-on-one experience. All appointments started on time and the office location is convenient.

Ya Ll: I came to Chili Lati, Physical Therapy (CLPT) through a recommendation because I was still having major pain and mobility issues stemming from back to back car accidents. The location of CLPT is in a small private training gym. It is a nice clean space in an accessible Dupont location. When you have an appointment it is one on one and not a huge waiting room of clients. When I first met Chili at her practice, she took the time to truly listen and understand the issues that I was having from my accident. In addressing a plan, one of the concerns that I had, especially with back pain, is being over prescribed or overly aggressive treatment. Chili is open to integrating a holistic approach in treating pain. She is also very good at adjusting your plan as needed as your circumstance improves. In the time that I was being treated, other huge positives are that Chili continues her education and training as a physical therapist for the benefit of her patients; she has a warm bedside manner; and also is very accessible when needing an appointment or schedule adjustment. I did appreciate the individualized attention. I really felt that my well being and progress were genuinely cared about. Going from a half-marathoner (pre-injury) to being unable to walk across the street from the garage to the office without curling up in extreme pain, to now being able to walk for more than a mile without great pain is a huge gain from treatment. Chili is great about providing exercises during therapy, and modifications for everyday movement and exercise that I plan to use as I work on regaining my fitness. After working with CLPT more physical activity seems plausible and once again enjoyable in the near future. If you are in need of PT from an injury I highly recommend giving Chili a try.

Marc Irving: Chili is a great PT. I came to her for lower back pain. I have a bulged disc that bothers me. I saw an orthopedic dr. And they suggested I get surgery. I got a second opinion from chili and she suggested dry needling and structural manipulation. I opted out of surgery and worked with chili. I started to get pain relief while on chili’s table and haven’t had any since. Chili knows what she’s doing and is a great PT. I highly recommend.

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation: what do users think?

Meredith McGoings: I came to Lucia at Star Rehabitation and Spirts in January with excruciating left knee pain. She messaged and gave me exercises to do daily. My ability to walk without pain improved quite a bit. Now I am pain free and walking without a cane. I highly recommend Lucia Lee as a very knowledgeable physical therapist.Meredith M.

Nick Rajpara: Dr. Lucia Lee is extremely welcoming and a great explainer of what is happening with your ailments. She is friendly and focused on helping her patients. The best physical therapist I have had so far.

Jura: This place is fabulous. As a customer of Sports Therapy and Rehab before the pandemic, I was skeptical about switching to online Physical Therapy for my shoulder. Kathy Braun is amazing and she is so skilled at therapy that she can immediately give you feedback as you are doing the exercises she demonstrates for you. I get huge rewards from my weekly online sessions with her. Kathy has a staff of amazing therapists and a very thorough and dedicated staff that keep everything operating smoothly. Everyone you encounter is upbeat and focused on getting you better safely. I highly recommend them.

Douglas Lister: Kathy Braun was wonderfully perceptive and through beyond my expectations in evaluating my condition and providing initial direction.

Pouneh Dadmanesh: Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation (STAR) offers and delivers great personalized physical therapy services. STAR has truly amazing staff members and excellent physical therapists. I would like to thank Katherine Braun, Jesse Fuller, Allison Evron, Lucia Lee, Natasha Harper, and Hope! In my view, STAR is the best physical therapy center in the Washington D.C. area. Kathy is truly exceptional; she is the best and most compassionate physical therapist I have ever worked with. I have been at STAR many times in the past three years. More specifically, I have been there for torn rotator cuff, chronic neck pain, sciatica, and pelvis injuries. Tissue massage, stretching, strengthening, joint mobilization/stabilization, and athletic taping have been among the treatments I have received at STAR. The physical therapy sessions have been very effective. Kathy has helped me recover from sciatic problems and strengthen the muscles and ligaments in my shoulder and improve my range of motion significantly. Kathy has also taught me proper techniques that I can use regularly at home to manage and alleviate the pain associated with my injuries, words are not enough to express my gratitude. I have also been working with Jesse on core strengthening and mobility. He has created a good and unique workout routine for me. Jesse is a very knowledgeable personal trainer; I highly recommend him.

Malachy OConnor: I am very impressed by the service Natasha Harper provided me. She was helpful, resourceful, and courteous while working through the resolution of a refund I was seeking. I could not have solved this without her. I appreciate her "stick to" in getting the job done. Thank you, Natasha Sincerely, Rose OConnor

Andrew Bird: STAR’s commitment to quality of care, attention to detail, and the depth of knowledge and experience from similar procedures/patients is a critical part to my great rehab from shoulder surgery. Did my homework and toured several PT offices prior to surgery back in March. Allison Evron at STAR was my top choice and I am so pleased with her contribution to my progress. What impresses me most about Allison is her keen awareness, intuition, and active participation in my rehabilitation process. She always takes time to listen to my immediate concerns and I think she grasped my long-term recovery and skiing related performance goals before even I did. She knows when to push in exercises, does not hesitate to correct poor form, and recognizes pain thresholds just from my facial expressions. This level of care alone is worth a 5-star rating, but I’d also note our seamless transition to telehealth appointments during DC “stay at home” without losing momentum was awesome. Very motivating experience. I highly recommend STAR, and particularly Allison for all physical therapy care. They have restored my faith in dedicated physical therapists. That is a monumental achievement after an awful experience elsewhere where I felt like a meat pile on a Chicken McNuggets assembly line.

Core Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Spencer Kelley: I had a wonderful experience with Core Physical Therapy. I highly recommend receiving treatment and guidance from Caitlin Ratino. She was exceptional in the care and time she took with my hamstring injury and recovery. She is extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful in the exercises and programs to get me back playing soccer and running. If you want to heal properly and get back to your routine, reach out to Caitlin!

Julie: A Top Notch Team!! I cannot say enough great things about CORE. I’ve been working with Hilary and Lauren for the last few months, after a serious ankle injury and surgery. They’ve been attentive every step of the way, reaching out after hours by email as well. They’re focused, dedicated and highly skilled at what they do. They’ve been able to diagnose my issues and help me work through them. Highly recommend Hilary for any athletes that need rehab but she can work wonders with any PT scenario. The front desk team is wonderful and they go above and beyond to work with my schedule. The facilities are new, clean and have the latest equipment.

Megan Ullrich: I had a great experience at Core Physical Therapy! The positive experience began with Henna at the front desk. She was always welcoming and cheerful. I worked with Hillary, who was amazing. I had worked with a PT at a different facility for weeks without any success. I immediately had results (resolving issues with my hips and low back) after working with Hillary. She is knowledgeable and easy to work with. I will definitely go back in the future if needed.

Louis Wolf: As an above-knee amputee since 2005, I have received the truly singular personal therapy by Kendall Black for several years before the COVID-19 pandemic. When I had significant pain in the patella bone of my good leg, Kendall went the extra mile by carefully applying her magic medical tape which gave me needed relief. Not only is she an extremely competent physical therapist, but she is also a very caring person. And she has a wonderful sense of humor. Likewise the reception staff are always extremely friendly, courteous and engaging. Finally, I find it very kind that there is water available for hydrating after my exercise routine and the Hershey kisses as a bonus medicine.

Luis Landau: I have been working with Lauren for several months. My issues are: generalized osteoarthritis, affecting mostly the right leg (torn or missing cartilege) and the left hip. Lauren has been diligent in making a good diagnosis and in designing creative ways to improve my ability to walk and my general flexibility..She has recommended focused exercises and, most important, has manipulated my joints in ways that resulted in noticeable improvement. I feel lucky to be working with her. Henna is a most competent administrator. She helps me with last-minute scheduling changes, always in a friendly and constructive manner. The physical facilities are ample and never crowded, always kept very clean. Social distancing is strictly observed. I feel safe coming here.

Jan Feldman: I have been seeing Kendall at C.O.R.E. for several years and there are not enough positive words for the care I have received. She is constantly looking for new ways to keep my therapy engaging and is infinitely patient with my question. The front desk staff is helpful and after one visit, call me by name when they see me.

MedStar Health: Physical Therapy at Lafayette Centre: what do users think?

diaa noureldin: The PT team at Lafayette Centre is simply great. They are professional, well-organized and quite experienced with sports-related injuries. In 3-4 weeks (6-8 sessions) coupled with simple home exercises, I was already seeing an improvement. The team is also quite pleasant to work with and the facility is well-equipped and super clean. I worked mostly with Yvonne and Ryan, and they are really amazing.

Collin Church: Highly recommend the physical therapy team. I saw Gregory Lloyd after having injured my groin which prevented me from being able to workout. After 1 month of doing the recommended exercises, I made progress much quicker than I had anticipated and am already back to working out again. Great experience and Greg was very helpful and pleasant to work with.

May Ng: I had a great experience with PT here after breaking my ankle. Thomas was my main therapist but I also worked with Chris and Bryn, All of them were just terrific--super effective and got me walking (soon running) again in no time. Front desk staff were also lovely and helpful with scheduling.

Ann Bourke: My therapist Sheri Zhang made a real and lasting difference to my arthritic hands at the OC/PT at Lafayette MedStar physical therapy Center. I was very happy with her professional and practical approach. Sheri introduced me to techniques, adaptive devices and personal braces to reduce my pain levels and improve my quality of life. I have since been able to resume and enjoy various hobbies, art and crafts as well as cookery.

Daniel Gerzon: A truly rewarding experience. The 5 sessions I had were with Greg Lloyd, PT, DPT who provided pertinent exercises to remedy the physiological challenges I experienced and also shared his innate knowledge of the body with a calm and pleasant dedication to my continued benefit. Altogether, my impression of the front desk personnel, Ms. Jabre and colleagues, as well as the entire training staff is that of professionalism and commitment to client satisfaction via teamwork.

Daniel Roberts: Great facility with top-tier staff. Thomas is an incredible physical therapist. He quickly identified my issue and developed a treatment plan, all while being very accessible.

Release Physical Therapy Washington DC: what do users think?

Ashley DeGennaro Wiley: Release Physical Therapy has been amazing for getting me back to normal after having a herniated disc. You can’t beat having a full hour of one-on-one time with the PT. Bettie is incredibly kind, attentive and thorough with her care, and I went from having horrible pain without the ability to walk longer than a couple blocks to having almost no pain in just a few weeks of therapy. She takes the time to explain every new technique and exercise, and every new appointment targets the area that needs attention the most. I’ve avoided needing injections and/or surgery because of coming here. It’s a great practice with wonderful people who really care about getting you back to your best.

Lanisha White: I have been going to Release Physical Therapy for various injuries since 2013. Cari and Danielle are amazing physical therapists who are very knowledgeable and attentive. I have been to other physical therapists and orthopedic doctors who minimized my pain and concern, but Cari and Danielle have always been attentive and invested in my recovery. Through the use of dry kneeedling, K-Laser, manual therapy, I have been able to return to an active lifestyle.

Ines Rosen: I have been going to Release Phisical Therapy for almost a year. When I started my lower back hurt so much! I could hardly move. Carrie has performed a miracle on me! Through therapeutic massages, exercise and stretches I feel like a different person. She also does needling which works really well! I trust them and they are very helpful too

Patrick Cullen: The Release PT team of Cari, Bettie and Danielle has helped me in so many ways with their detailed approach to past injuries. I was experiencing issues with my hands as they would go numb from time to time. After consulting with the team, Bettie found the issue and performed class A needling. It was a true game changer and now my issues have cleared up. I trust in this team so much that I recently had a running injury and knew exactly who I needed to see to get back in proper shape. Within the past 3 weeks, my symptoms have subdued and I’m feeling better and better each week. I would suggest this group to everyone as they really show extreme focus In their craft and put the patient first. A++

Barney Guacheta: I have been coming to Release for the better part of 2 years. I am a triathlete and suffered a high groin injury. While not enjoyable the needling on my groin(s) resulted in so much relief I felt like a new man. Danielle is an expert PT and I’ve enjoyed my experience thus far. I’ve continued coming to Release even after my groin was healed solely bc I believe in the recuperative properties of dry needling in general as I’ve subsequently competed in two half Ironman races since my injury. I use them now more for maintenance of tight areas as I train as a weekend warrior and 50 hr per week desk jockey. I highly recommend Danielle and her team for any and all sports related injuries and recovery.

Nikki Pisha: Release PT is fabulous! I’ve been seeing Stephanie Lam for several years. I initially went to this practice because of their use of the k laser technology l, but I found the most talented physical therapist in the city! Steph’s treatment and strengthening guidance has helped me maintain a level of strength beyond what I thought possible. She literally keeps me running. She’s methodical in her approach, and her attention to detail is unmatched. I am always amazed how she can remember exactly “what worked last time” for me when she has so many patients. I’ve seen all the therapists at Release over the years, and they are all incredible to be honest. If I can’t get in when Steph, I know I’ll get wonderful treatment from any of the other PT’s! I can’t recommend this practice enough!

Greg Porter: Release provides great service. All the therapists are highly skilled. I’ve seen Danielle for knee and back issues several times and have had great results. They use lots of different methods and techniques to formulate a treatment program that works for you.

Elyssa: I cannot recommend Release Physical Therapy enough. This practice goes above and beyond patient care. Cari literally saved me when I was in a horrible place physically with 2 severely herniated discs/sciatica and was told surgery was the best option. From the first session I felt immediate relief and I went from barely moving to complete range of motion after regular treatments and avoided surgery. Cari is extremely knowledgeable about the body and all current techniques to enhance healing. She even offered to accompany me to an mri appointment that I was terrified for. I don’t know any other practitioner that would offer up their time like that. she is dedicated to her patients and I am forever greatful. I wouldn’t be in top physical shape today if it weren’t for her amazing staff . There is no one else i trust more when it comes to muscular injuries now!

Rose Physical Therapy Group: what do users think?

Aysha Suzuki: I went to Rose PT as I had a lot of TMJ problems and I was looking to try dry needling as a possible solution. Claire is such an expert and it was extremely enlightening all that I learnt about the jaw and how it moves. She gave me really helpful exercises to do at home and she is able to dry needle very complex areas in the jaw that provided tremendous relief. It was really life-changing, I live in London but I plan to visit every time I am in DC!

Joe Shields: Thomas Rados was amazing! I had a bike accident resulting in a severe AC joint separation. I decided to go without surgery and Thomas did an amazing job to help get me back swimming again in 6 weeks. He was thoughtful about the sessions, willing to push me to recover faster, and gave a lot of good instruction to keep up PT out the office. 5 out of 5 would 100% recommend!

Lucy Hoagland: My experience with Rose Physical Therapy Group was great. It was easy to get in for an appointment right away and I appreciated that they booked out several sessions for me so that I had a consistent day and time for therapy. Thomas was an excellent physical therapist to work with. The exercises he provided were really tailored to my injury and strengthening goals. He also held me accountable for doing my at-home exercises which is what I needed!

David Kanstoroom: Claire Bowe is amazing!! I came to her suffering from years of lower back pain. She arranged a program for me that included dry needling, stretches and strengthing that was adjusted weekly, and within 10 weeks I was pain free. Highly reccomend Rose PT!

Andrew Rygiel: Rose Physical Therapy Group is an amazing place. To start, the administrative staff was friendly and quick to respond. The facility was very clean and has implemented many COVID-19 procedures to make you feel safe. I would highly recommend Thomas Rados as your physical therapist. He helped me overcome muscle issues with my hands. Not only was he able to help during our sessions with stretches, exercises, massages, and dry needling but also provided clear instructions for at home exercises. Thomas was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

Total Health Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Buki P: I came to Total Health Physical Therapy feeling broken physically and emotionally drained. I had met with many specialists with few results and mounting questions. My symptoms were worsening and I felt hopeless. Through Integrated Physical Therapy, Lisa felt my body’s trauma and helped me understand the reason behind my symptoms. Unlike the 8 Specialist I had seen previously, Lisa did not simply push mediations to me but listened and took time to understand all the signs my body was giving. Lisa has helped me recover from a torn ACL without needing surgery and helped me discover that I had seasonal allergies by feeling my diaphragm’s spasms. Each time I leave Lisa and Kate feeling healthy and hopeful for continued wellness. Lisa and Kate have used their gifted hands and decades of experience to heal my body and coach me on how to maintain my well state. I trust them more that I do my General Practitioner because they have given me more answers and I have always left feeling better. I would 100% recommend going to see them for unanswered health issues that are impacting your physical well-being. They will be honest and let you know whether or not they can help you.

Elissa Carney: I tried every modality to address my health issues and this method (integrative manual therapy) was the only thing that worked in both correctly diagnosing me as well as treatment. The practitioners are all excellent. I highly recommend.

Jeri VanReenan: They have changed my life. I feel better after every visit.

Spinal Balance Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Zainab Mirza: I cannot recommend Spinal Balance enough. I originally chose them based on location (an easy commute for me) but now, if I ever require PT again in my life I will make sure I come here. Vincent is incredibly personable, caring, and simply put - excellent at his job. I came to him for a herniated disc and now after 6 weeks, I am feeling excellent and confident in my abilities to walk and exercise again. He provided at-home exercises as well that complimented my appointments. Please please please do yourself a favor and see Vincent!

Sian Imber: I experienced superb care. Vincent Romviel is the best Physical Therapist that I have encountered. Knowledgeable, compassionate and kind he has patiently guided me through therapy for an damaged and painful knee. He takes time to educate his patients about their injuries, and his expertise helps them to return to their regular lives pain free. He deserves 10 stars!

Philip Walgreen: He is brilliant! I move so much better with his help.

Therapydia DC Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Gary Ng: Love my experience at Therapydia! Dr. Josh Ripp is thoughtful, personable, and wonderful to work with. I really appreciate the undivided attention I got from our one-on-one sessions, which is a welcome change from my experience at other clinics where a therapist might be juggling 2-3 patients at once. The office staff is also friendly and welcoming!

Christian Mai: Amazing treatment and highly motivated team! I had to go there after surgery on a broken ankle and they got me back to walking and into the normal routine with my foot. Super with changing appointments if you really had to and available all the time. Highly recommend for physical therapy in DC!

Ray Ban: I’ve had two major back fusion surgeries, the first was in 2015, and after that one I went to another physical therapy place. Which was okay but I really didn’t feel much benefit from it, and ly was essentially the same exercises over and over. My second surgery was this past July, and I chose Therapydia, partly due to their proximity to work, and also I wanted to try somewhere different. I’ve only been coming to Therapydia since October, but I’m already feeling more benefits than I did back in 2015, the exercises actually seem like they’re targeting the areas which need work. My therapist is knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. The staff are all excellent, and have been extremely flexible with scheduling my appointments. Amazingly, I actually look forward to PT as opposed to dreading it, which was the case a few years ago. I’d highly recommend Therapydia to anyone who needs physical therapy.

Naidia Douglas: Therapydia was amazing! I had pains in me knee and within a matter of weeks Dr Rogacki helped me heal. He asked questions and stayed engaged with my situation. He also tried different techniques to resolve pains including dry needling, exercises etc. I was very impressed when I found myself being able to work out pain free. I would definitely recommend them!

Brittany Peterson: Im a very active person, and Therapydia is my trusted source for getting healthy again and back to activity as soon as it’s safe. From a ski-induced knee injury to a shoulder injury from a bike crash, they’ve got me covered. Joanne and her team are incredibly professional, talented and care deeply about their patients. This is the only place I’ll go.

Sheila McMahon: Therapydia DC is the best! I am amazed by the friendliness and competence of the entire staff. I have been treated by Dr. Marylyn Presutti and she teaches me something new and helpful each time I visit. It is a relief to experience such high-quality, evidence-based treatment for my plantar fasciitis. The office is also extremely clean and everyone follows COVID safety protocols. Thank you, Therapydia, for being a bright spot in a challenging year!

Josh Christianson: Strong organization coordination and customer service. Felt confident in therapist and could feel the sessions benefitting my injury. Highly recommend!

Pivot PT - Washington, DC (Foxhall Square): what do users think?

Erik Fonseca: I highly recommend Ian Cahil - PT. He was a pleasure to work with during the entire treatment. 1. Ian is very empathic and patient: he is very personable, listens and observes your body language attentively. He understands and respects the patient’s limitations, while at the same time recommends alternative exercises and different approaches to the treatment. 2. Ian is very knowledgeable: he immediately assessed my situation, provided me with a diagnostic, and set up a successful realistic treatment plan. I noticed some improvement and pain alleviation right after the very first session. 3. Ian was very flexible and attentive – he was able to accommodate my busy schedule and set up a routine treatment that was beneficial to both of us. He is extremely professional and was ALWAYS on time. 4. Ian has a fantastic attitude. He is very positive, listens, motivates, and is always ready to improvise when the situation calls for it. He constantly observed my performance, corrected my posture, and changed my exercises – I was never bored.

Matthew Boulton: While only here a short while, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. My physical therapist, Josh, was a pleasure to work with and my course of recovery was productive and direct. Julie and Tim, despite not being my physical therapists, took the time to get to know me and instilled a friendly environment about the office. Dorothea and Tierra were more than helpful with scheduling to work around my busy schedule. Thanks all!

Zaidun Jawdat: Highly recommended for a professional and focused experience. I needed help regaining strength in my legs, which were weakened by the effects of sciatica, which in turn caused back pain. Tim zoomed in on the area and worked with me on a series of well-considered remedial exercises. Calm, pleasant, no nonsense, and with truly helpful results.

Linda Lucatorto: Jenna was recommended to me by my brother and sister-in-law as a miracle worker. They were right! She is an excellent diagnostician, can and does use a full range of treatments, and she is interactive in a way that makes me want to keep working. I am heading back to my workouts at the gym, thanks to her.

Deborah Mesce: The Foxhall Square location is great! It’s small, and you get personal attention from an experienced therapist, not just a handoff to an intern as happens in so many PT clinics. Rachel Bracken heads the Foxhall location, and she’s the best PT I’ve ever worked with (and there have been many).

Sylvia Margolin: Tim demonstrated exercises to decease shoulder tightness and increase shoulder strength. These helped enormously. Tim was friendly and professional and very helpful.

Alliance Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Deb F: Very happy with my experience at Alliance PT and I would definitely recommend them. I worked with Bianca, Autumn, Avisha & Andrew who all helped get rid of my pain! They all knew what they were doing! Everyone was professional, nice and friendly, including all the assistants and office staff. They are obviously all happy to work there which is always a good sign.

Susan Walker: From the front desk welcome to the therapists who worked as a team to help me meet my goal of pain free movement, I have only positive things to say about the Alliance staff at the Washington Circle office. I am inspired by their commitment to quality care and personable service to all patients. I highly recommend this PT practice.

George Lewis: Bianca and team worked with me for many months to rehabilitate my shoulder after a broken collar bone injury. The team was excellent and provided many tools and exercises to help me return my shoulder to a normal level of activity. I really appreciate their patience and perseverance.
